David was asked about the Fennec Foxes! :D ❤ (watch the video - I also included there the fennec foxes posts and I recommend watching until the end! :D)
youtube
Fan question: May you want to tell us about the moment Georgia told you about the fennec foxes?
David: Now, what is this? This is something Neil Gaiman said, right? And then someone ran with it and now there's lots of pictures. What, what, what?
Int: I feel like Georgia gets you in a lot of trouble.
David: I don't think this one was Georgia's fault.
Fan: No, it was Neil.
David: It was Neil Gaiman's fault. I don't think Georgia entirely understands it either. Did you understand it?
Audience: Yeah.
Fan: It is... Neil said they have struggles with money so they can't afford to pay you for all the Second Season of Good Omens, so they had just some fennec foxes because nobody could tell the difference anyways.
David: Oh was Neil very drunk?
Fan: Maybe you should ask him.
David: Possibly. Right, listen, I'm sure a fennec fox in Season Three is going to do an excellent job.
Fan: Oh, yes, please.
David: Oh, all right, all right, chill out, recasting me.
Int: Your fennec fox is showing right now, chill.
David: What is fennec about fennec fox? I mean, what is the difference?
Int: I think it's like...it's like the Salisbury and Salisbury steak.
David: They're sort of...they're kind of rather blonde, aren't they? With sort of slightly more horn like ears, tight?
Int: They're the cute ones that you want to have as a pet.
David: Oh, as long as I'm a cute one, that's alright.
Fan: They mainly live in the desert, that's why they have so...
David: They mainly live in the desert, much like myself, yeah, yeah, I can see why he got...
Int: It's so dry and arid in Glasgow
David: It's very dry and arid in Glasgow, yeah.

I love how goofy and clueless these two can be.

Oh, Crowley
You try to teach Shax about sarcasm:

And then this happens, and you don’t understand sarcasm:

And Aziraphale… your sweet acceptance of Muriel when they show up at your shop in a bizarre constable-ish costume:

And right after, you’re all like:

Prime Video: What‘s the Story?
Neil Gaiman: No story, just vibes.

Neil Gaiman: Okay, do you remember Sister Theresa Garrulous and Sister Loquacious from Season 1?
Prime Video: Yes?
Neil Gaiman: They‘re in a coffee shop AU.
Prime Video: Aaaand?
Neil Gaiman: And they need to fall in love.
Prime Video: But Neil what about Crowley and Aziraphale?
Neil Gaiman: Oh, don‘t worry. They‘re already in love.

The Consecrated Line
Neil's favorite line from Good Omens is the invisible and unbreakable one that joins Crowley and Aziraphale.
Tumblr media
There is a line that binds me to you invisible and unbreakable In days our paths lead you out of my reach I know it is present anchored in the depths of my heart drawing us always together On the night we stood in the consecrated rubble of strife so gently did you pluck that line as our hands brushed for too brief a moment I could not quiet the vibrations which began resonating through me expanding infinitely like those of the universe itself They hum through my mind like celestial harmonies building to a crescendo in the recitation of a sacred memory from before the beginning My soul thrums resolutely as it struggles against both the natural and the divine to join with yours It knows the way It follows the line Though unseen as the breeze I can feel it as real as I feel the echo of your lips pressed to mine For all its straining and knotting as we dance so carefully around one another I harbor us to fear for I know our line is indestructible Impervious to both time and the fickle tides of fate

David Tennant Meet&Greet
I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Meet&Greet on Sunday, so I wrote a summary of the things I remember from David‘s Meet&Greet timeslot 2, at Angels, Demons and Doctors on May 5th.
Any kind of recording and phones were strictly forbidden, so I didn’t have it on me, but I took notes immediately after the group photo. We were a little more than 20 people in a small café.
He said Good Omens was a life changing experience because he got to work with so many amazing people and he was able to get to know Michael properly since they had only briefly met before. Quote „and now I‘m never gonna get rid of him!“
He is very humbled and grateful for the amazing Good Omens community, seeing people caring so much about it and especially wearing so many amazing costumes at events like this is absolutely wonderful.
He was asked how working with Georgia on Staged was like. He said it was a very special situation since it was made in lockdown and he always enjoys working with her. He talked about homeschooling („it was hell!“) and that this was the only different thing they were able to do at the time, so they really liked it.
He was asked if he preferred acting in theatre in front of a live audience or filming stuff and he said it completely depends on the project, it’s the thrill of only having one chance to make it right or being able to redo and add something else to the performance.
Having him back as the Doctor and the bi-generation was something that Russell had planned from the beginning and was always om the table.
David has read the scripts of the first three episodes of Good Omens 3 and he also read the very last scene - Neil probably had it written before writing anything else and the ending was always clear from the beginning. He also says the script for episode 4 is imminent. And he stated him and Michael always get the same info, no one receives any scripts before the the other one.
I got to ask a question as well! I asked him how he handles the lenses because 10 minutes after putting mine in (I attended in Crowley cosplay), the lenses have already turned around and I either look like a goat or a lunatic. David said he has the same problems and is always fumbling around between takes. S2 lenses were slightly better because they were weighted, but mostly it’s just readjusting them and some digital corrections in post production.
The best part of shooting Good Omens was working with so many amazing people on set. The worst part is there won’t be a fourth season and, looking at me „and the contacts of course!“
He was asked about how his perfect day would look like and he said he has to pick three separate settings because it’s so hard to choose. Day one would be at home, nobody waking up before 7am („or 7:30, 8 am even“!) and them all going to the kitchen and having some bacon and eggs and none of the kids getting into fights with each other. Day 2 would be hanging around in London with Georgia and finding places they‘ve never seen before. They also started going to galleries they‘ve never visited before, so on this day they would probably tick some of them off their list. Day 3 would be working on an amazing project with great people.
He said he doesn’t really have any more roles or characters he wants to play specifically, but he would love to be able to work on projects where he can be involved in creating something exciting and new.
Someone thanked him for his performance as Crowley because it meant so much to the queer and nonbinary/genderqueer community and asked if he intended to play Crowley as such a genderqueer person. David said it was not a conscious decision in itself, but he is immensely happy and grateful it brought so much joy to so many people. And Crowley and Aziraphale were never meant to be read in a certain way, they are just those creatures that can’t really be put into specific categories.
This is everything I can remember from the Meet&Greet and is not a complete list of everything that was said, and I apologise if I made any errors, I tried to write down as much as I could after it had ended and it can‘t be taken as a word by word script.
I really enjoyed this intimate setting and it seemed like David had a really good time throughout the whole event. He said several times that he’s in awe of the fan community and how much love they put into costumes, fanwork etc and how dedicated they are.
What I really loved was that his scottish accent showed so much during the Meet&Greet, even more so than in the panels etc. He wore the pin we all know and love and a very, very soft cashmere jumper🥰

David Tennant saying to transphobes and other bigots: "Fuck off and let people be!" ❤ 😊
David Tennant at the Angels, Demons and Doctors con in Germany, 5.5.2024 (from mandlebougie tiktok <3)
Fan question: I wanted to ask about like, maybe your relationship with like, gender and like, expression like masculinity and femininity. Because I've always noticed, like, even before you and Georgia became more like, vocal about trans rights, that you're always like, not afraid to show like, femininity. And that inspires me to embrace it too, though I'm a bit traumatised by it because I'm trans. I wonder, like, how has that changed over the years, if changed at all? Because I remember also reading something about, like, you in the nineties also being like, not afraid to become gay or something. Yeah. So I wonder, like, in now this environment with like more trans allyship and stuff, like, has that for you personally changed at all?
David: I don't know if it changed that is... I've hopefully learned as that, as that community has found ways of defining itself and has provided a sort of, you know, when I was a kid, the idea of being non binary wasn't something that existed, it wasn't a concept. And I've seen that emerge and people able to express themselves through that and it only ever seems positive as far as I can see. And I think that the kindof the weaponisation of trans rights, gay rights, well, actually, when I was a teenager, I remember gay rights being weaponized politically and that always felt ugly and nasty. And now we look back on that 30 years later and those people are clearly on the wrong side of history. And now there's a sort of similar weaponization of these topics being taken by mostly the right wing or a certain section of society trying to create friction and conflict and division where it needn't be, where it's just about people being themselves and not, you know, you don't need to be bothered about it. Fuck off and let people be! You know, it's just... it's that sense of just wanting people to be allowed to exist. And I think that they're, you know, that there are now ways of expressing gender, identity, sexuality that are more nuanced than they once were. And that only seems to be positive. If that helps people to know who they are and say who theyare and communicate to the world who they are. So why... I mean, my sense of that is that is all just we have to be..., you know, we're.. that's just common sense, really.

[Season 2 summed up]
Aziraphale's thoughts: Oh I shall team up with Crowley and make Nina and Maggie fall in love and make them confess. Oh what if I also confess then. I need to prepare everything to set the scene.
Still Aziraphale's thoughts: Ooohh a ball with dancing and tiny snacks to make it fancy and it will be like a Jane Austen novel coming to life and then I will ask Crowley to dance and all our problems will go away as I stare into his eyes....
Crowley's thoughts: Keep Aziraphale safe Keep Aziraphale safe Keep Aziraphale safe Keep Aziraphale safe FUCK YOU GABRIEL Keep Aziraphale safe Keep Aziraphale safe Keep Aziraphale safe PLEASE HOLD MY HAND AZIRAPHALE Keep Aziraphale safe JANE AUSTEN WAS AN AUTHOUR?!?! Keep Aziraphale safe-
