Albus: What? I didn’t break it!

James: Huh. That’s weird. How’d you know it was broken?

Albus: Because it’s sitting right in front of us AND it’s broken!

James: Suspicious

Albus: No, it’s not! I mean if it matters– probably not, but Teddy was the last one to use it.

Teddy: LIAR I don’t even use that!

Harry: Okay, let’s not fight. I broke it, let me pay for it-

Ginny: NO. Who broke it?

Albus: Mum?

Albus: Lily has been awfully quiet…

Lily: REALLY?

First Thing’s First

I have decided to start this new section. It is called first thing’s first, because there is a question, and my friends (or anyone I find interesting enough, there are many interesting characters in school) have to answer the first thing that comes to their mind. Simple. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Additionally, we can put to test how well we photograph. Photographs are weird. One moment frozen forever? Magical, almost.

Thomas Stewart (me!)

First of all, I apologise for the image. I didn’t know my Mum was taking the picture, and apparently, I don’t have any other ones where I look decent. That is tragic.

Anyway. Me. It’s weird talking about myself, here goes nothing. My name is Thomas Edmund Stewart, but people call me Thomas or a few variants of that. In its Hebrew roots, Thomas means ‘twin’, which is unbelievably, uncannily fitting. Lucy says I’m not really older, as if a minute of difference doesn’t count. It does. It always has. That minute makes it seem like I am forever the older brother, and do not get me wrong, I don’t mind it. People come back to me because it’s safe. It’s nice to know you are safe.

It is one of the only things I know about me. I am safe. The safe place, the safe choice, there’s no jumpscares with me. I think I am better at knowing other people than knowing myself. Sometimes, I wonder if I am the difference that lies between living and existing.

Fred Weasley

If you blink, Fred has already thought how exactly we’re going to get into trouble with three different teachers that day. He is absolutely relentless, unstoppable, and Merlin knows sometimes I have absolutely no idea what he’s talking about.

But then again, he is rather cool. Because sometimes, if you blink, he’ll have come up with the strangest, or most revolutionary plan you’ve ever heard of in your life. I have got to give it to him, creativity and him are soulmates. And, contrary to popular belief, he’s sharp. Clever, clever. Not saying his hand will shoot up with the answers whilst in class, but you’ll want him to get you out of a sticky situation.

He could be the classic hilarious character to lighten up any situation. And Fred would be insanely good at the job. Thing is, he’s far more than that. The moment people realise it, it’s over for them. Humour, they say, has to come with certain brightness. I can confirm this is Fred’s case, even if he’s very good at disguising it.

He gives me headaches sometimes, but… they’re worth it. Here’s to many more years of them.

James Potter

Some people in school seem to think he’s something like, our leader? Which I can say is plain false, if we’re really getting into our friend group. But I guess, to the outsider’s eye, one could consider him as such.

It is impossible not to like James. I say this from the most honest part of my heart. If you claim you do not like him, you are fooling yourself. Why? Simple. He knows how to make anyone feel at home. I cannot be sure if it is because he reads people, or if homeliness is just a quality of his.

I am inclined to think it is the latter. It is like he is everyone’s protector. He is always there. He has an immense heart to make up for the ego. Because, of course he knows. Doesn’t matter if you tell him he’s acting like a moron, no, he sort of likes being a moron, which is probably why a few odd bunches claim he’s an arrogant piece of no-good. But he forgives easy, he isn’t resentful, that’s for sure.

Between us, I am glad he’s around.

Lucy Stewart

Also known as my little sister. By a minute. The most relevant minute known to wizardkind (if there were such a thing as wizards). Not surprisingly, we’ve been stuck together our whole lives. The weird thing is, we kind of chose that. Could’ve gone the different ways as soon as we entered Hog— school. But no. We stick together. Same house. Same friends. Everyone picks their poison, right?

Lucy was made to unapologetically stand out, and she’s always followed that fate. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. She’s unbelievably stubborn, and even if you REALLY aren’t trying to annoy her (annoying her is a sport I professionally practice, I must say), she STILL will not listen. At the same time, she’s tender, and I have no clue how she can be both, but that’s her. I crave for her to get lost from time to time, like any decent brother would, but when she is gone, it isn’t the same. Wonder if she does that on purpose?

She says everybody loves her, and as much as I tell her she’s fooling herself, or as hard as I roll my eyes, I’m afraid I must admit, I think she’s right. She’s one of those people who was born magnetic, take that as a blessing or a curse.

Most of the times, Lucy really is all right.

Just so we’re clear: this blog does not support JKR or her transphobic and disrespectful tweets/thoughts. The wizarding world and the Potter fandom are for all people, as is the real world. Trans folks and everyone under the queer umbrella are valid, you exist, and I see you and respect you. JKR is not the be-all-end-all of the wizarding universe. You belong in this fandom more than she does.
