Hey I love your artwork of Fig from FH (and all your art in general) but I think you should edit it to change her laces to one red one purple like in the original. Just red laces on combat boots is Lace Code for being a Nazi

Thank you! I had literally no idea that 'lace code' was a thing, let alone what it meant. Googled it. Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep it in mind going forward but I don't think I know how to edit the pictures so I'll leave this one as it is (unless I figure it out...)

I would also see similarities to substance addiction in this behavior. Like when you can get high on a small amount of something but then you get used to it over time, so you want just a BIT more for the next hit. And then just a bit more than THAT for the next one… and while it makes sense to appreciate what we have and not always be desperate for more, I think this may be an inherent bug(feature?) of being human.

I cannot really bring myself to believe someone who says he is so zen that he doesn't want more of what he likes. That'd be the definition of the Buddha.

And, of course, there's a parallel to how only rich people tend to preach that money doesn't bring happiness... I'm sure if I was getting a bazillion likes on my art, I'd be preaching that likes don't matter and making art in itself should be enough for true satisfaction for artists 😅

Not too long ago...

I was posting art on Tumblr and getting like, 2 notes. In those days, if I got 5 notes anywhere, I'd be thrilled...and if it went to 10 I'd be positively jubilant! TENPEOPLESAWMYARTAAAA.

A few days ago, I posted something and it unexpectedly climbed to almost 300 notes! Must've done something right with the hashtags I dunno...but here's the thing-

Since that day, I've posted a few more times and I've started getting so pissed if the notes don't come. Now even 50 notes (which would ordinarily have made me faint with ecstasy) seems disappointing...

Makes me wonder. I've seen artists here get many tens of thousands of likes/comments/reblogs on their art. Does an artist who regularly gets >10,000 notes on their art feel dejected when they get just 6 to 7000 on something?
