Regulus hated the meetings.

Summoned to sit around the long oak table. In a room filled with ancient artefacts, facade of wealth and power.

Musty and suffocating is all regulus thought about it, yet a room similar to this one took place in his own house.

The dark room took no pleasure in kindness and neither did he. Sitting up straight on the left of Voldemorts own chair. He carried a bored expression on his face yet he never stopped observing, listening and analyzing.

He missed the sun.

As the tall door opened the voices all hushed. Voldemort made his way into the room filling the air with a heavy feeling of death.

Death eaters is what they are after all, ironic really.

He missed the sun.

'My Lord' Regulus stood boeing his head in sign of respect.

Earning himself a approving nod, he briefly acknowledged Bellatrix before she took her place on the right of Voldemort.

He followed sitting down awating Voldemorts speech.

Instead, however, he nodded towards Bellatrix. She wasted no time standing making the chair crash behind her wand in hand. She pointed to the seemingly empty corner of the room... until it wasn't.

The speed of the ordeal was fast but before he could ask any questions, he met the rats eyes.

The reason the sun was gone.

Regulus smelled death and for the first time, he was going to be the one to take it.

It was late Friday afternoon when James just got back from one of his missions. It was one of the more challenging ones he's faced in a long time. It took him a full week of surveillance before the NCA finally gave him the go ahead to attack.

He was however, glad to be back home. A week without Reggie turned out to be a lot more challenging than he expected.

As he left the bathroom with nothing more than a towel around his hips he was pleasantly surprised to see a pair of beautiful gray eyes looking back at him.

Well, that was before those gray eyes made their way down James' battered and bruised torso and the beautiful face of his boyfriend filled with a mixture or worry, anger and confusion.

James fucked up.

THE BLACK CAT

James leisurely made his way towards his dorm.

Just having finished leading the Gyriffindor practice he felt the heavy weight of exhaustion on his body.

The match against Ravenclaw would be challenging, he knew they were good, amazing even. They have the mind, the strategies, and the skill. All a team needs really.

Truthfully, they will be hard to beat. For this reason, James made sure his team pushed themselves to their limit.

He almost felt bad.

Unbeknownst to him, a small black cat was quietly following him, lurking in his shadow. Invisible to the simple eye.

As James opened the door to his dorm he was greeted by the familiar sight of his friends. With a casual "hi" he nodded in their direction and made his way towards the bed. He let out a deep sigh before collapsing face first instantly feeling the soft comfort of the mattress hugging his body.

In his exhausted state, he failed to notice Sirius' double take at him, or Remus' shocked, yet greatly amused expression.

"Made a new friend I see?" Peter asked after glancing up from his book.

"I thought you'd be happier about it honestly" followed Sirius.

Confused, James lifted his head to but before he could ask what they meant, he found a pair of beautiful gray eyes staring back at him.

Like a deer caught in the headlights, he stared at the Black cat now sitting on the edge of his bed.

The cats gaze was focused on James and only him.

But James could even react, with a blink of an eye he was gone once again.

He quickly made his way out of the open window Sirius and Remus were using to smoke, and jumped into the black night.

Panicked, James hastily stood up in an attempt to follow the apparently idiotic cat.

He threw himself to the window once his shock disappeared and searched for the gray eyes.

To his pleasant suprise, he found them staring at him by the window of one of the neighbouring dorms.

The whole encounter lasted no more than a few fleeting moments but that did not stop James from grinning.

With a quick turn back to his concerned friends he laughed "I told you guys, strays love me".

The Black Cat Part 2

might continue this short series and if you guys like it I'll eventually write it out properly and post it on AO3.

"I'm telling you, Sirius!" James exclaimed loudly drawing the attention of half of the Great Hall to his group,

"There is a stray here and I'm worried" he noted sadly. He couldn't help but wonder if he got enough food, if he was cared for, and if other students were nice to him. Perhaps that's why the cat continues to merely look at him from afar- the fear as a result of past cruelty. The idea brought tears to his eyes.

"Please James" Sirius scoffed. "And how do you know it's not a student?"

James wanted to laugh at the possibility. Although rare, he would be ignorant to think the marauders are the only illegal animangus to walk the halls of Hogwarts.

Although the idea was cool, he quickly dismissed it with a roll of his eyes and a flick of his wrist. "As if, it's been months a person wouldn't randomly observe me from afar for this long" he laughed at the idea.

Remus seemed to disagree with a doubtful look in his eye but otherwise remained silent.

"Going back to the topic-" James continued, "I want to adopt it, can we start leaving food for it?"

"Where do you plan on doing that?" Peter asked amused by his friend's antics.

"I don't know, our dorm? Corridor near it?" James listed.

"There are so many things wrong with that plan I don't even know where to begin" Remus sighed exasperated resulting in Sirius' loud laugh.

As their group continued to plan they failed to realize a certain black-haired Slytherin with piercing grey eyes that was listening to their every word. With a hidden smile and rosy cheeks, he had an idea.

The Black Cat part 1

"Oh- hello there sweetheart"

Regulus just about turned around before the tall man with round glasses and messy brown hair kneeled down on the floor before him.

"come kitty kitty" James gently whispered slowly putting his hand out for kitten to smell clearly having no idea it wasn't true a cat.

Regulus was meant to turn around and walk off- just as he always has done when James did this.

And yet, he simply gave in to his desires.

Regulus Arcturus Black, the head of the Black family fortune in the body of a small black cat walked up to the man of his dreams.

He gently sniffed James' hand nuzzling it slightly with his nose.

To no one's suprise James just sat there, still awating for the cat to make the move and set it's boundaries.

The moment lasted no longer than a few seconds yet it left James with the happiest smile on his face and a glimmer of his classic Gyriffindor determination in his eye.

Regulus could not have been more pleased and he turned and made his way down the quiet corridor.

James thought of some ridiculous plans in the past- pranks, love confessions, getting out of detention and the list could go on.

But the thing is, James is used to ridiculous plans. But this?

"So why do you think?" Evan asked expectantly as he looked at James. His faced morphed into a confusion as he tried to think through the plan. Evan could basically hear the faint sound of wheels turning his brain.

"So" James began finally, "If I've understood correctly you want to date?"

"-fake date James" Evan corrected with a note of irritation. "We both benefit, Reg and Barty will end their ridiculous... whatever they have going on. I will then get Barty and you can have Regulus".

James knew it was stupid and ridiculous and their ingenious plan might not even work.

But as he realised there's a slight chance he might get Regulus? What else was there to consider.

James is a king or ridiculous plans as well as a number one hopeless romantic. It should have suprised no one when he announced, "Hell yeah, let's do this"

I feel like this is quite important. Recently I've been seeing so much hate in the fandom about various ships and I just find it quite sad. Personally I think of the marauders as a silly little thing that brings me joy with it's queer characters and their different AUs. I feel like others relate and they themselves make changes to their characters to be more representative or just because they feel like it. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion making posts saying how much they hate it is just spreading more negativity. If you don't like it, don't read it, simple as that.

Do people on the clock app know that fanfictions don't have to stick to canon? Like...? It's kind of the point...?

Also the posts "unpopular opinion: x and y wouldn't do that" – okay but that's not an unpopular opinion, that's a headcanon.

And the "I hate that Marauders fanfictions are like this and that lately..." but no one asked? I mean, one of the most basic rules of fanfiction is that if you can't say anything nice then you don't say anything at all.

Also there are several comments about how Jegulus/Wolfstar/whatever fans are easily offended and "too protective" of their ship and other bullshit. Maybe just grow the fuck up and accept that everyone loves different stuff...?? And don't fight and be a bitch about it...?
