I had to share this post because I feel that it represents what so many WLS patients are going through.. You want to skip to the end.. You want to skip to the weight being lost.. However, when you do that.. you miss out on all the progress, all the lessons, all the places that teach you something about you.. No one likes pain.. and many people avoid it.. yet when you avoid the pain, you also must avoid the pleasure because they are a duality.. It's part of life.. You don't get to avoid one part at the expense of the other, or at the liberty of another.. they come together.. because they are both part of life.. So, the next time you want to avoid the pain.. and focus your attention on "i just want this to be over" - remember that this moment is trying to teach you something.. and remind yourself that you 'can't skip chapters'. This moment, this chapter, this process.... is about getting to know you.. intimately. That's what this is about.. and if you don't like the story or the narrative.. change it.. YOU GET to write the ending.. it hasn't happened yet. What happened prior to this moment is already written.. what happens from this moment forward is your choice.. I didn’t want to hit the gym this AM. I was tired and really wanted to crawl back into bed after getting my little off to school.
