Poor Mrs. Pevensie
Her children were already grown up when they came back to her. They no longer needed a mother. They had become adults while they were away. They weren’t the kids who use to bicker, they were hardened but she wasn’t quite sure why.
Peter was wiser. The way he listened to his siblings and others talk seemed like he was trying to formulate a response that would satisfy everyone. He no longer picked fights with just anyone. He no longer wished to go to war. He had matured in a way that was both regal and sad. Peter seemed lonely. Like he was missing something that no one could give him. Mrs. Pevensie tried to reach out, but she just didn’t know how to comfort her oldest son when he pushed all her affections away. He instead sought solace in his siblings because they were the only ones who understood, and his mother was glad that even though he appeared to be lonely, he wasn’t completely alone. But she grew worried because she didn’t know how such sadness could be seen in the smile of a kid. She didn’t understand the fear behind his eyes when he heard a misplaced sound. She didn’t understand the malice seen on his face when someone upset him. She just didn’t understand what had happened, what had made him this way.
Susan was softer. She wasn’t as harsh with her sibling or herself as she was before they left. She seemed to take on a role of leadership even when no one asked it of her. She carried herself in a higher manner, not like she was above others but as if she was watching over them, like a ruler protecting their subjects. However, the way she looked over her siblings was different. She seemed almost scared they would disappear, scared she would lose them. Susan would sometimes act irrationally. It contrasted Mrs. Pevensie’s old view of her daughter greatly. Her oldest daughter use to be methodical and calculated but on a rare occasion she would have an outburst. She would be easily angered by the way someone would talk to her or her family, but only for a second before her fury cooled and the calm, sweet face reappeared. And in these moments, Mrs. Pevensie grew scared because what could cause her once gentle daughter to harbor such chaos.
Edmund was kinder. He would go out of his way to help his siblings in anything they needed. He was always there giving a witty and sarcastic remark that could draw a smile out of anyone when they were having a hard time. It was a drastic transformation from the selfish, emotionless child she knew before they left. She was partly glad to see him this way, but it sometimes seemed like he was trying to compensate for his past. Like he was trying to outrun the person that his siblings had already forgiven him for being. Edmund would try to hide his pain behind a well placed comment or a quick smile, but Mrs. Pevensie could always see behind his mask. She knew of his night terrors and she wished that her words could comfort him but he didn’t want her comfort anymore. He would rather hold his screams in and suffer in silence. She almost wished he hadn’t changed because she never wanted him to suffer the pain she could tell he was in. He was a better person, but at what cost.
Lucy was stronger. She no longer cowered away from the mentions of war, but she had opinions on it which could rival soldiers and scholars. She was straightforward and sharp and didn’t care for others thoughts on how she should act or behave. Mrs. Pevensie was overjoyed to see her youngest daughter come out of her shell. To see her youngest be more independent, but sometimes she worried that it was too harsh of a change. She had grown up too fast. She no longer looked to her mother for guidance but instead had found her own path. She had carved her way but it appeared that the process hadn’t been a forgiving one. It had been one of blood and pain and loss. And now Lucy seemed desensitized. She didn’t hold that childish spark behind her eyes anymore, and if it was there then it was dimmed beyond recognition. It was like she was was always looking for something, like she was always hoping to escape the world she was in. Mrs. Pevensie didn’t know how to care for this new person that she saw. She didn’t know why her daughter had to grow up so fast.
They had changed and Mrs. Pevensie wasn’t quite sure if she recognized who her children were anymore. They had gone on without her. They didn’t need her. She was proud of their growth, but sometimes she wished they could have stayed young and innocent forever. She knew it was a dangerous wish to make in times of war, yet she wanted to be selfish. She never wanted her children to suffer the war, that’s why she sent them away. Sadly, they had stumbled into one anyway.

Narnia made soldiers out of children
Tumblr media
“Am I supposed to be grateful
to have survived this?”
-Brenna Twohy
The Pevensies loved Narnia, truly they did. But sometimes, just sometimes, they thought about what their lives might have been like if they’d never been brought there in the first place. Edmund wondered if he would still have been plagued with constant nightmares. Susan pondered if she would still have been burdened by loss. Peter questioned if he would still have been so prepared to die. Lucy thought about if she would still have been overloaded with painful memories. It’s not that they weren’t thankful for Narnia. They were. But they weren’t thankful for all the affects. They never felt whole again. They never felt stable again. They never fully recovered. Because Narnia made these children into soldiers and rulers then forced them back into a world that would never understand what they had been through. A world that would never accept them as they were.

The Pevensies as Greek Gods/Goddesses
Lucy would be Persephone. The Goddess of Spring. The Goddess of the Underworld. They are both curious and adventurous which led them to new worlds. They find refuge in their dreams and aspirations. They are considerate and care deeply for both people and the wild. However, although they may look innocent and gentle, they can and will fight to protect the people they love. They know when to stand up for themselves and when to approach situations with caution. An atmosphere of love radiates off them and empowers others to believe in themselves.
Edmund would be Apollo. The God of Prophecy. The God of Music. They are both creative and insightful which has opened many opportunities for their future. They know their worth and their talents and they aren’t afraid to use those to their advantage. They value the future and believe in the importance of planning for it whether that be for battle or for just everyday life. However, they also understand that inspiration is unpredictable and they secretly love that little bit of uncertainty and freedom it gives them. A spirit of enthusiasm surrounds them and gives others a sense of confidence in their future and their abilities.
Susan would be Athena. The Goddess of Wisdom. The Goddess of War. They are powerful and resourceful which has allow them to be unbeatable battle strategists. They love to learn and the only thing they enjoy more than taking in new knowledge is being with the people they care about. They are deadly warriors, but they understand the value of life and when to take or spare it. They have led hard lives and have preserved through the many challenges life has given them. They have a quality of determination that enables others to pursue their life passion and ideas.
Peter would be Hephaestus. The God of Fire. The God of Craftsmanship. They are both strong and hardworking which has made them valuable soldiers. They know the horrors life has to offer and stay true to themselves anyway. They prioritize their families over themselves. They both have a heart of gold and a fiery spirit. They would destroy anything in their path as long as the people they care for stay safe. They posses an aura of strength that gives others the ability to face their fears even when they are fearful themselves.

Narnia was their Home
Tumblr media
“I’ve been try to go home my whole life—”
Chelsea Dingman
Ever since they left, the Pevensies would find themselves looking for ways back into their old world. London use to be their home, but not anymore. They were defenders, fighters, healers, rulers. They weren’t school children. They were kings and queens. They ruled a kingdom and risked their lives. They had lived a thousand lifetimes in the span of just a few years yet it didn’t last. Their home in Narnia would never last. No matter how many times they went back. No matter how many times they risked their lives to save it. No matter what they did. It would never last. And they were stuck in an endless cycle of trying to reach a home that didn’t want them anymore, that didn’t need them anymore.

Narnia’s Protectors
Tumblr media
“The future of Narnia rests on your courage.”
-Aslan, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Peter had always been the most straightforward of the bunch. He utilized the gifts he was given and protected the people he cared for with them.
Susan was scared that war might change her, but she asked Aslan for courage. And when the time came, she didn’t hesitate it to defend her loved ones.
Edmund didn’t have a gift from Father Christmas, but that never deterred him. He was versatile and used anything and everything to fight for Narnia.
Lucy was curious but she was also calm. She would always be both a healer and a warrior. She would save her people regardless of how she had to do it.

Narnia’s Soldier, Poet, and King
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Soldier, Poet, King” by The Oh Hellos
Peter was known as the warrior king. The ruler who led the Narnian army into a battle that would determine their world’s future. The leader who unwaveringly faced death alongside his troops. The boy who became a soldier for the defenseless at only 13.
Edmund was given the title of diplomat king. The ruler who would chose peace over violence until peace was no longer an option. The leader who was given forgiveness and has since proven every day why he is known as the Just. The boy who became a poet for the voiceless at only 10.
Caspian was christened the unstoppable king. The ruler who was raised by the enemy but could never justify the hate he was told he should feel. The leader who abandoned his past to aid a civilization of people that never wanted or believed in him. The boy who became a ruler for the lost at only 13.

Narnia Characters as Disney Princesses
Peter reminds me of Mulan. He is the protector of his family. He will always put his sibling’s safety above his own. Peter is quick to learn and if he at first doesn’t grasp the concept then he will spend days perfecting it. He is creative and innovative when it comes to battle plans and he tries to take in all the possibilities and outcomes before making his decisions. But above all, Peter knows what it’s like to want to protect the people he loves and he will take on a little dishonor if it means he keeps them safe.
Susan is quite similar to Belle. She is the quick witted warrior of her family. She never fails to surprise others with her extensive knowledge of Narnia and they never expect this high queen to be deadly with words as well as weapons. Susan personifies the expression: doesn’t judge a book by its cover. She is kind and graceful and always tries to keep an open mind when going into a new situation. She would willingly give her life for that of her family and although she is not always sure about her actions, she is confident in who she is. She doesn’t let the past of others affect her future opinions of them.
Edmund is like Merida. He is the fierce firecracker of his family. He has always been blunt and sarcastic which makes him the perfect judge but sometimes harms royal’s opinions of him. He isn’t perfect and he knows this but he hates when others make assumptions about him solely based on his title or who he is supposed to be. Edmund wants to carve his own path in life and he will not let his past mistakes ruin anymore of his future. He cares deeply for his family and, even though they fight sometimes, he will always be there to protect and love them in the end.
Lucy has a personality like that of Anna. She is the sunshine for her family. She is kind and can be harsh but she only acts out of love for her family and her people. She draws others in with her sweet and funny personality and can always bring a smile to others in dark times. Lucy doesn’t let the opinions of others hurt her, and she gives her all into everything because that’s all she’s ever known. She is quick to forgive her family because she knows the love they hold but once an enemy crosses her then she is a terrifying warrior to oppose. She has the love and support of her people which makes her a great queen and also one of the most powerful.

Turn Towards Narnia
Tumblr media
Lost my faith and trust
You and I both know gold don’t turn to rust
I still swear that we can reign
Like the kings and queens of better yesterdays
Don’t you know I’ve been burned, I’ve been burned, I’ve been burned
You’ve seen me lose control
It’s not worth, It’s not worth, It’s not worth
My soul
