Alright, anyone going to Käärijä’s Glasgow gig fancy taking a green knitted tea cosy for him to wear in tribute to our original king of chaos Sir Billy Connolly?

I proudly voted for the most original song out there, Team Cha Cha Cha all the way!
If the entire crowd is yelling "Cha cha cha" and "Käärijä" and Loreen still ends up winning because of the jury votes there might be something wrong with how powerful the juries are
As a Finn I'm so pissed rn bc the win would've meant so much to the whole country. Käärijä was incredible but we still lost to freaking Sweden.

Sorry to sound like a grump, but I wish people would educate themselves about what Misha is talking about here before commenting. He’s not talking about Halloween, he’s trying to help the situation with the very grave elections in Brazil today by using his platform. The fate of the Amazon rainforest, its indigenous peoples as well as that of LGBT+ people is at stake this election. The current president of Brazil is a homophobic misogynistic fascist, who wants to extend his brutal thuggish rule for life. Please do not make light of the situation, lives are at risk.

My final rant on those against the Amazon production of Rings of Power.
Every time I see the opening credits on Sir Peter Jackson’s films, there’s one credit that those who criticise Jeff Bezos for should be mindful of. I have said previously that I am no fan of Bezos, he is a tax cheat and his workers deserve far more pay than he gives, and far fewer hours that he takes. However, people should remember that one of the executive producers of Sir Peter’s trilogy was convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
It is galling to me, a woman with my own story of sexual harrassment, to see that name every time I go to watch a film that should be a comfort film, especially in today’s day and age. To know that women suffered at the hands of that monster.
So please, remember this: before you hit out at The Rings of Power, perhaps what you have to say is best said to your friends, not shouted out on social media. As I have also said previously, I am not a fan of Harry Potter, I have my reasons, including JK Rowling’s record of transphobic remarks. However I feel no need to comment on Harry Potter on my social media channels. It is possible to hold your fire and move on to something you might enjoy.

There’s a lot of folks who hate on The Rings of Power, who, when pressed would swear blind that it was lore that the elves were there at the Battle of Helm’s Deep…
As a lover of Tolkien’s world for over 30 years, I greatly enjoyed the Rings of Power’s first season. I despair of those who think is clever to spread malice all over social media, stifling discussion amongst those who appreciate the show, it’s cast and crew, and the hardship of a global pandemic under which it was made.

If you don’t like the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, then you can just say nothing on social media. No one is forcing you to watch it. There are folks like me who have enjoyed Tolkien’s world for over 35 years, who remember the liberties that Peter Jackson took with the source material at the time. It never detracted from the films, and I enjoyed both as they were.
Amazon don’t have the rights to The Silmarillion or the Book of Unfinished Tales, which meant that they had to get creative with the story.
Guess what? Amazon’s The Expanse has changed the story from the books, and that didn’t have any problems. The same with Amazon’s The Boys. Both have diverse casts.
I welcome any chance to step back into Middle Earth. Tolkien’s stories mean a lot to me personally. So seeing a load of posts by people who seem mighty wound up by the race of characters that they had to devise to construct an original story out of minimal source material. I suggest that if you don’t like the series, then you don’t need to watch it and you don’t need to post about it. I am not a fan of Harry Potter, so I have said nothing about it on social media, it is possible!
This series was made in challenging conditions during a global pandemic, in a country with the strictest quarantine restrictions on Earth. The people who made it had to spend very long periods of time away from family to do so. Cut them some slack. I am not a fan of Jeff Bezos either, I think the guy should pay his taxes and not dodge them and treat his workforce better.
Let those who like the new series enjoy it and you can find something else to talk about.

Reading this makes me realise that Misha Collins is a rare example of success. He was frequently homeless as a child and had no connections in an industry where people increasingly have to be connected to make it. My cousin has been trying to break in to the industry for 10 years now with no success (ironically he’s had a very small speaking part in an episode of Supernatural). It’s a good example of how social mobility is dying out, and society is stratifying to the point that no amount of hard work will get you success. I appreciate Jared and Jensen, but I think Misha has done the, by now, impossible, in the entertainment industry by talent alone, and for that I have an enormous amount of respect for him.

My thoughts on, not just the new Lord of the Rings series, but also the entitled fanboys rushing to dismiss it before they have even seen a single episode: https://twitter.com/ithacanexile/status/1551655232354099200?s=21&t=Ls2M-MwqOcsR2tj4lYhC4A

Soldier Boy is from Philadelphia, so it would make sense that he’s an Eagles fan.
Jensen Ackles is from Dallas, and is a massive Dallas Cowboys fan.
Both the Cowboys and the Eagles are in the NFC East and are bitter rivals.
Maybe the scene Ackles refused to shoot was Soldier Boy wearing an Eagles shirt?

Supernatural stans are very interesting. I leave the fandom for about a year and I would make one comment and I get blocked by a couple of stans and then I leave and come back to see so much tea. Wild.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jensen Ackles getting screwed by the writers over characters they deeply care about. Both ended up without the loves of their lives.

“I am more of a romantic than Dan and David. I kinda want him to just leave Cersei! She is bad for you and it’s not healthy and clearly you are in a relationship where you are more in love with her than she loves you.. so, you know.. And what about this Brienne of Tarth?!? She is, like, more a great..” - Nikolaj Coster Waldau
