if your girl reads books, then she’s not your girl. she’s a dark-haired fictional man’s girl or a woman wielding a sword’s girl. know your place.

Ruin Me // Michael Clifford (on Wattpad) https://my.w.tt/tXvPIFIQr6 When Lydia turned eighteen, all she wanted was to move on from her hometown and live a normal college life. When she meets Michael, a member of the biggest frat on campus, her life is turned upside-down. Though she knows she should stay away from him, he continues to surprise her. Maybe he doesn't need to live up to his reputation; maybe Lydia can be the one to see who he really is.

March reads: march has been rough guys first off cresent city came out and I couldnt get over my book hangover so I read it again. Yep. Then the coronavirus shit escalated quickly and it took me a bit to dive back into reading.
The last book I read in march was Imagine Me(ups dropped it off and a few hours later I was done with it). It was a great books! I'm sad the story's over but I feel like it finished well. I'll miss this characters. Imagine me had some weird spots but overall I really enjoyed it. The second to last chapter, not including the epilogue, DESTROYED ME. Dead. Just. Dead.

PSA:
Do yourself a favor and read Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. Like, now. Seriously. It has:
a biracial, bisexual protagonist
an aboslutely adorable “i would die for them” romance
FANTASTIC and unexpected side romances
interesting family dynamics and loads of supportive siblings/friends
minor political drama
british people
fluff for days
also addresses actual issues
the power to make you smile no matter how shitty your day has been (speaking from experience)

Me: I HATE romance.
Also me: If this book doesn’t have someone falling in love I’m not reading it.

If you want a story with a brilliant, intense, thrilling, twisted, and unique plot, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story that will keep you up until the early hours of the morning, and make your heart leap for joy, then your stomach clench in terror, and keep you guessing and hoping and waiting through every page, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story with flawed, relatable, and heartbreaking characters then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story that brims with raw, agonizing emotion, so that you feel every thought, dream, fear, and hope of the characters as deeply as if you were them, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story that covers the entire spectrum of humanity, from the darkest to the lightest and everything in between, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story with a slow-burning romance that’s subtle and uncertain in ways, and yet powerfully woven through even the most minute of details, and crafted around a stunning and heartwarming friendship that refuses to cease even through the most dire of circumstances, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story that ruthlessly deals with harsh topics, such as innocence, maturity, violence, murder, and war, in an enlightening, engrossing, and terrifying manner, then read the Chaos Walking series.
If you want a story that will make you laugh for joy on one page, then drive you to despairing tears in the next, then read the Chaos Walking series.
But mostly… if you want a good story, then I encourage you…
Read the Chaos Walking series.

“Many boys will bring you flowers. But someday you’ll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it won’t matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Only that boy earns your heart.”
— Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows

It’s kind of incredible how I can be continuously disappointed by almost every single book-to-movie adaptation, and still somehow get my hopes up every time a new one is announced that maybe - just maybe - this will be the one that finally works.
