I really hope that someday I can be something that many people look up to. Someone who made it against all odds and inspire others to keep going. But these last few weeks I’ve really felt like giving up. Staying sober is a battle in itself. Chasing success is just added pressure. Here’s another demasking vid. To be honest I’m feeling a little lost lately. I work really hard on these looks and this pandemic has really made me struggle financially. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’ve really been on a consistent upswing as far as quality with my content during lockdown and it just doesn’t seem to go anywhere. The algorithm on this shopping app really only shows my work to 10% of you. I don’t have a family I can go home to and eat their food and sleep in my childhood bedroom. I’m not bitter about it. I’ve had to really build the life I have now. I really have put everything I have into this hoping I would earn a platform where I can help people. Idk this is a rant and I’m just having a rough time. I just want you all to really know the the misfit you see who creates these dark and weird visuals is actually who I am. I’m not someone dabbling in darkness. I’m a person who has survived a lot and I’m trying to channel it into good. I’m grateful for each and every one of you who look forward to what I create or who message me and say I inspired you. I realize I am very fortunate. Designing #planetx I want to try to convey my passion for landscapes, or terrain in the world of set design since it is kind of my corner of the industry and something I do better than a lot of my peers. Set Design is so often regarded as a last minute piece of tinsel added to a project and I want to talk about how the outcome of a project is greatly improved when the set is regarded as an integral part of the story. In designing “Planet X” it was very clear from the beginning that my work and opinion was respected. I was given basically free-rein within the concept and that’s why the set looks the way it does. The love and passion I brought to the table is richly represented in the details of what I created. The reason I write all this - is because I want people to see me as a real artist and for my POV to be valid in the same way that photography is. Regardless of whether I am doing the set or creative direction. I am so often untagged, uncredited, and unthanked and I want change the landscape around set design and make people see that I literally create a sculpture and world for a team to play in. This has been a really gratifying project as someone who has always dreamed of being in Ryan Murphy’s cinematic universe. So thanks for letting me pretend! I did this all myself. The makeup, the video, the stills. It took me 3 days to hand paint and make the straight jacket and mask. It’s fully practical and functional and I’m very proud of it.
