How To Make A Tesseract
Tumblr media
Whether you're dire need of a Tesseract for your Loki cosplay or you would like to have one to help fuel your Loki obsession, look no further than this post. In this post, you'll learn how to assemble a small, glowing cube that can be used as a prop or just a random light accent.
What You'll Need
Tumblr media
3.5 × 3.5 Clear View Photo Cube
Painter's Tape or Masking Tape
Krylon Sea Glass Ice Spray Can – you ca.n also use any frosted glass spray
Scissors
Poly-Fil Bedding or Stuffing – guesstimate on how much you need
Ashland Blue LED String Lights or RGB LED Puck (w/ remote)
OPTIONAL: Ashland LED String Light Remote – Both light sources take AA batteries. You'll have to open the remove to figure out that specific battery.
** Press on item for link to the product
Instructions:
Step 1: Split apart the photo cube. Take your masking tape and tape on the inside of the cube. This will help make sure when you spray on the sea glass, it doesn't get anywhere else on the cube. The more sea glass applied, the more faded the lights will appear. Alternatively, you can put the tape on the outside and spray the inside instead. If you do this, be careful not to over spray. Over spraying will cause drips (you don't want that.)
Step 2: After you've placed the tape where you'd prefer, grab the cube and sea glass spray and move to a well ventilated area (like outside.) Now, take your spray can and shake it up very well. Once shook up, remove the cap and do a test spray in the air if possible so you know how the nozzle handles. Gently spray an even layer on each side. If able, wait till each side has dried before moving to the next surface. This also helps prevent over spray.
Step 3: Personally, I'd let it sit until the next day before I remove the tape, but you do whatever you think is best. Once the tape is removed, you should reassemble the cube to make sure it looks how you would like it to. Add more spray if you so please – even if it's just adding it to certain areas. You can also use a sea glass recipe (it's base is like Elmer's Glue) to dab onto areas to give it a more icy look.
Step 4: After the cube's frosted like look is complete, you're ready to move onto the inside. Replace or add batteries to whichever light source you have picked and turn it on. Seeing out bright it is will help you determine how much poly-fil you'll want. The more you add, the less visible the lights will be. You'll place the lights in the bedding enough so it'll be moveable in one go when batteries need changed.
Step 5: After you've embedded the poly-fil with the light source, place it inside of the cube. Turn the light on and there you have it! Your very own Tesseract. Now, go! Go do mischievous things, I won't tell ;)

Tricks and Dreams (Loki x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Who knew Thor Odinson and a dream would be the answer to all of your problems?
Word Count: 4357 Words
Warning(s): Implied Sexual Content (Slightly)
Author's Note: There are two point of views – Yours and Loki's. They are identified before the story switches the point of view. Enjoy!
Reader's P.O.V. – Third Person
Burnt wood flooded the room, invading your nostrils with the pungent scent. You took a deep breath, closing your eyes as you hummed happily at the smell. Eyes fluttering open, you caught a glimpse at Thor tossing another log of timber into the fireplace, the impact sending sparks flying. The fire slowly consumed the new piece of wood, engulfing it in it's burning, fiery glow. As you sat there, watching the fire intensely, you hadn't notice Thor walk away and come back. A light blanket dropped into your lap, startling you at the sudden contact. Turning your head up to look at Thor, you watched him gently place a blanket around Loki's limp figure. For the past hour, he had been fighting so hard to stay away with the two of you, but finally gave in. A small smile grew upon your face at Thor's action. The smile grew wider as you watched Thor lean down and give his brother a light kiss on his forehead. His gruff hands gently pushed his brother's head down against the arm rest so he could cover him properly. As he did so, the book lying at Loki's side slowly started to tip over. Your arm shot out to catch the falling book, careful not to bend any of the pages. Movement caught your eye as you peered up at Thor, him smirking at you.
"He would kill us if that book got damaged." Thor stated, eyeing you carefully. As he scanned your face for a reaction, all you did was nod in agreement and gently place the book onto the coffee table. If the book got damaged, Loki would've went out and got another, but it wouldn't of had the same sentiment. Frigga had given him that book when he first started reading long novels. It would be a lie if he tried to say it didn't mean that much to him. Hel, it meant the absolute world to him. So much, you thought he would kill someone to protect that book if it came down to it. Shaking off the thought of Loki killing someone over a book, you leaned back up against the couch you shared with the god. Your hands curtly unfolded the blanket, reaching out in front of you to gently shake it completely free before you tossed it inward onto yourself. The warm fleece covered your entire body as you curled up on the couch, briskly adjusting the blanket to your comfort. Thor had retreated back to his chair infront of the couch. Clearing your throat lowly, you shifted back to the fire Thor had tended to minutes ago. It would be rude not to thank him for the blanket. You thought genuinely, a quick smile flashed over your face as you prepared your voice to speak loud enough to not wake Loki.
"Thank you." You spoke audibly enough so Thor could hear, careful not to come off as boorish at his kind action. Training your eyes on the fire at the front of the room, you saw Thor smile graciously at you. When Thor looked back at the fire, you could see that the fire had warmed him up significantly. His face was burning red in the places he would be flushed at if he was standing outside in the 20° degree weather. A comforting silence grew as the fireplace roared, wood crackling as it burned to ash. Thor's jaw jutted out in thought, contemplating whether he should go through with the plan he schemed up a couple minutes ago or not. He looked over at your relaxed form, watching your glazed eyes take in every detail of the burning heat. His eyes darting over to Loki as he shifted lightly before he turned his head back to the fire. Thor noticed your head turn towards his brother's sleeping figure. Sighing contently, you reveled at the peace that laid upon his face. Just like the fire, you took on every detail of the god's face. You memorized every flaw and insecurity that had developed upon his face. Whilst he saw them as ugly blemishes, you saw them as perfect imperfections. No one was made perfect, but in your eyes, Loki was the closest thing you've come to perfect. In your mind, he was the best thing to ever happen to you, and you would do absolutely anything just to make him yours – simply so you could prove he deserves the world. Of course, you would never jeopardize the friendship you had acquired with him. He wouldn't stand for it. Even though it would be below him, you believed he would look upon you with absolute disgust. You, a Midgardian, and him, a Nordic God? It could never happen. It would never happen.
Your vision started clouding around your line of sight as you gazed upon Loki lovingly. Blinking a couple times to refocus on gazing upon him, your eyes trailed across each feature of his face. You watched his relaxed face, basked in a warm glow from the fire. The light carefully outlined his face perfectly. It fell over Loki's cheekbones smoothly, complimenting the perfectly chiseled bone structure. If you weren't so madly in love with the man, you would envy his facial appearance. Its just too perfect. A content sigh escaped your lips audibly, drawing Thor's attention. At this point, you basically had checked out from reality. You hadn't even realized Thor's attention had turned to you, watching your content expression you wore sleepily as you mentally swooned over his brother. While he studied your face, he watched as a smile started to grow over your face. I wonder what she's thinking. Thor thought, curious. The smile turned into a lopsided grin, eyelids dropping as your face turned warm at a sudden thought you had. Unknowingly, these actions gave your true intentions away. They just screamed 'I am so deep in love with Loki!' With his eyes trained on you, for reaction purposes, he decided to put his master plan into motion. Swallowing the nervous lump that had developed, he looked at the fire as he began to speak.
"I love Loki." Startled at the sudden reaction, your body tense. What came out as a clear statement to Thor, came out as a slur of gibberish that you couldn't understand. Your brows furrowed as you squinted your eyes in confusion. Gears turned in your mind as you tried to decipher what Thor said like it was a dead language. Several moments passed as you came to the conclusion you would need Thor to repeat himself. Just as you were going to turn your head to Thor and ask him to say it again, he did it again.
"I love Loki." Thor exclaimed, louder than you would prefer. Widening your eyes, you hastily shushed the booming god in hopes of keeping him quiet enough to not wake the peaceful frost giant beside you. Thor's eyes narrowed at the sound before he glanced at you in a confusing manner.
"What?" You inquired softly, eyeing the being beside you. If anything, you weren't going to let his oaf of a brother wake him up.
"What did I say?" Thor questioned again. Blinking slowly, you felt your mouth open and close like a fish. You sighed, clearly irritated. If only the God of Thunder didn't have the brain the size of a sugar snap pea, and the memory of a guppy, maybe he'd be more useful in small talk.
"I love Loki." Answering him, you watched his gears turn in his head as he in turn deciphered what you had told him. Or well, he pretended to decipher what was said. If it went as planned, he would be leaving fairly soon to return to his own quarters.
"Can you repeat that? I couldn't quite understand you." Thor questioned you innocently, a playful smile tugging dangerously at the corner of his lips. It took all the power he could muster not to give into the smile. At least not yet.
"I love loki." You repeated the answer in the same voice level, careful not to wake the god. Thor shook his head before asking you to repeat the question again. This time he wanted it said a bit louder.
"I love Loki." As your voice rose another octave, your eyes just focused on Thor. You weren't worried about waking anyone at this point. You just wanted the conversation with Thor to get to the point. As you watched him shake his head again, you huffed in annoyance. Maybe if he let up on the thunder and lighting, he'd actually be able to hear.
"Louder, please, dear Y/N." Rolling your eyes at the statement, you looked down before you said it again. Gods, does he know he's torturing you with those words?
"I love Loki!" This time, you spoke loud enough to wake anyone nearby. However, you weren't too worried as Thor analyzed your words before nodding. Finally, he understood what you were saying. You didn't know you were going to have to basically yell the words to get it through his thick skull. Loki stirred beside you, but it didn't catch your attention as you continued to stare at Thor. A sly smirk played on Thor's lips as he noticed the movement and you didn't. Catching the smirk, your face contorted into an even more confused look than before. What is he smirking at?
Loki's P.O.V. – First Person
"I love you." Y/N confessed smoothly, staring at me with an unidentified emotion. I felt my eyes scan her face for any hints of of deceit. She wore a blank expression. It could be in hopes of concealing her true emotions or it could be in fear of rejection. Pursing my lips grimly at my failure to identify any emotion in her face, I looked away. What if she's just saying that? I shook my head mentally, not wanting to put her off. Now you know she would never do such a thing. I scolded myself, thoughts swarming me.
"Loki" Her gentle voice drew me out of my daze as she bent down to catch my gaze. As our eyes met, a soft smile grew on her face. If it were possible, I would physically melt at her actions. Her smile made me feel warm inside – like a freshly baked cookie, hot out of the oven. Trying to return the smile, I watched hers fall in concern. Or was it sadness? Her expression went back to being unreadable. Expressionless. Cold. My brows furrowed in confusion, wondering what happened. Before I could ask what happened, she cut off my non-existing sentence.
"I take it you don't feel the same." Y/N stated sadly, head dropping to fix her gaze on her hands – which sat folded in her lap. I didn't think my brows could furrow anymore as I tried to figure out what had happened. Peering across into the mirror, I saw that my facial expression was not the smile I intended. Instead, I wore a thin smile. One that would come off as disapproving or sad. That's why she said that..She thinks I'm rejecting her..I sadly thought, swallowing quickly before taking a step towards her. Her head shot up at the sudden movement before she stood up swiftly, eagerly making sure she could escape in necessary. Shooting her a sad smile, I took another step towards her in hopes she would budge. She didn't. She stood right there, eyes piercing right through me. Her Y/E/C eyes watched every move I made, tensing a bit more at each step. Finally, I stood right in front of her, our chests mere inches away. I slowly reached my arms up between us, stiffly reaching my hands out. Her eyes dropped from mine to my hands. Something flashed in her eyes and I too looked down. Trembling. My hands were... trembling. Was it in fear? Anxiety? Possible adrenaline? The possibilities were endless. My eyes peered up at the woman in front of me. Seeing that she continue to stare at my shaking hands, I decided this was a bad idea. Instinctively, I went to pull away when I watched her hands briskly wrap around my own, squeezing them to ease any tension. Her warm hands slithered further up and gripped my wrists, rubbing small circles on the inside. Her touch felt electric to me, sending sparks throughout my arms to the rest of my body. It felt foreign and comforting at the same time. Hands tightening on my wrist, I looked back up and met her gaze, tensions easing significantly.
"Loki, I love you." Y/N repeated her previous statement. She came off as vulnerable, considering how quiet her confession was, she could also be viewed upon as fearful. Fearing what would happen next. Would I confirm what she feared? I viewed her as only a friend? Or would I surprise her and mutually return the feelings. As I opened my mouth to respond, I quickly shut it when a muffled yell came from somewhere in the compound. Confused, I glanced around before turning back to her. Curiously tilting her head, she looked at me. Clearing my throat, I brushed it off and went to continue with my own confession. That's when it happened again, but this time it sounded closer. Louder.
"Do you hear that?" I watched her face fall from an eager expression, but twist into a confused one.
"Hear what?" Was it all in my head?
"It must be the wind. Sorry. As I was going to say," My voice shook, even though it sounded confident. As I went to continue, I got cut off with the voice again. This time, it was clear it wasn't just random, muffled gibberish. It was words. Whoever it was, they were saying 'I love Loki.' A playful grin pulled at the The corners of my mouth as I gave Y/N a knowingly look.
"Is this a prank?"
"What?"
"You know what. The muffled voice yelling 'I love Loki!' Is that a prank? That's not a very good magic trick, love.'?" I mused upon her, missing the flash of hurt in her eyes.
"Loki, I swear to you, I'm not doing anything. And I have no idea what you're talking about?" Her hands dropped from my wrists as she backed away, eager to escape from this confrontational conversation. She didn't know what I was talking about. This was all in my head. As she turned around to rush out of the room, I shot forward to grab her wrist, but she slipped through my grasp. Literally. Her whole figure fades away like mist. Left standing there confused, darkness started to haze around my corneas. No, this can't be happening. I anxiously screamed internally, confused at what was happening. I hurriedly stepped forward, wanting to escape the darkness, but it seemed to just consume me more with each step. At my final stepped, I lost my footing and fell forward, body heavily hitting the ground. My face squished against the cool floorboards as I wrapped my mind around what happened. I lifted my head, but it fell heavily back to the wooden planks. Groaning, I let myself lay there. Whatever was happening, it would probably pass without harm. Just as I was thinking that, the darkness completely consumed me.
Suddenly, I was curled up on a couch in the compound. As I stirred, I heard a firewood crackling across the room. I don't remember a fire going? Confused, I clenched my eyes shut more, hoping to understand what had just happened. My body slowly became less heavy, waking up as I did. My once slow breathing returned to normal as I lay there on the couch, basking n the warm glow that emitted from the fire. A once muffled voice rang out from beside me, peaking my interest. A deeper voice replied with the words 'louder' which caused the other person to groan.
"I love Loki!" I heard a woman yell, clearly irritated with the deeper voiced person. Lying there silently, I slowly started to pinpoint who was who. The deeper voiced person had to be my brother – well, adopted. It just had to be Thor. Replaying the woman's voice, I recognized the sweet sound as Y/N's. She loves me? I thought, forgetting the previous events. Carefully, I shifted onto my side a bit more, moving my arm up so I could rest my head in the nook of my arm. Y/N, who was beside me, huffed again before she said the words again, voice breaking at the end. If anything, saying these words were hurting her. But why? Maybe this still was the situation I had experienced earlier. If it was, I was going to make her realize I felt the same way – no exceptions. I swallowed as I quickly gained the courage to respond.
"I love you too, Y/N." I rasped out, voice groggy from sleep. I stirred more, stretching. My spine cracked, each vertebrae snapping like huge glow stick. Gods, I must've been out for a while. Sitting up slowly, I let out a groan as my limbs moved after being still for such a long period of time. An audible gasp sounded out beside me, causing my eyes to shoot open and peer at the person beside me. There she sat, staring at me with wide eyes. Was it something I said? I watched her shocked expression as she fell deep in thought, trying to figure out what had happened. With a blink of an eye, her shocked expression turned into an angry one, eyes glaring daggers in the direction of Thor. Following her gaze, I saw my brother giving her a mischievous, knowing smile. Oh no...
Reader's P.O.V. – Third Person
"You...you..." You furiously stuttered out, lacking the words to say to the God of Thunder. He had done this on purpose, you just knew it. Glancing over at the fire, you took deep breaths, trying to regain a gentle state of mind. Feeling your breathing return to normal, you turned back towards Thor, ready to calmly give him a piece of your mind.
"He was awake..." You started, voice slightly shaking. "..and you knew." Thor's eyes flashed mischievously.
"To be fair, he was waking up." Thor interjected.
"That's not helping your case." You countered, narrowing your eyes. Loki saw that he had no way to come into the conversation, so his eyes just darted between you, his love interest, and Thor, his brother. Thor sighed heavily, feeling bad for tricking into a 'confession.'
"Y/N. Look at me." Reluctantly, you looked at Thor, awaiting him to continue.
"One way or another, Loki was going to find out your feelings for him. Obviously, he felt the same!" Thor gestured between you two, referring to the previous event. "I couldn't stand to see you sit there and watch him with pained eyes. Eyes that believed that my brother would never understand how you felt." Thor quipped truthfully, treading carefully in hopes that you would understand. All you could do was just nod. You didn't really understand, but you knew Thor's intentions weren't to harm or embarrass you – they were to help you. The god nodded before throwing the blanket off of himself and standing up.
"I'll, um, leave you two alone." And just like that, awkward Thor was back. You laughed lightly as he walked upstairs as quick as he could, trying to not make a sound, but failing miserably. A door opened upstairs and a sleepy Clint could be overheard scolding the God of Thunder. This only caused you to snicker more, amused at Thor's actions. As your laughter died down, you looked up at Loki – who was already looking back at you, smiling widely. You cleared your throat awkwardly, diverting your gaze to your hands. They twisted and pulled at a loose thread on the fleece blanket.
"So..." You trailed off, not really wanting to talk about the situation. Loki realized this wasn't the dream he had earlier, but deemed it even better than the dream. He would actually get to call you his.
"So you love me?" Loki teased lightly, shooting you a toothy grin as he dreamily gazed upon you. Nervously, you nodded, not trusting your voice. "And I love you back." You pulled harder at the thread at those words. Honestly, you weren't used to confronting feelings. This was just as new to you as if probably was to him.
"Y/N, darling, you have no idea long I've awaited the opportunity to say those words you." Loki paused, watching your index finger wrap the thread around it and tug, trying to rip it out. Shifting his body more towards yours, he let his left hand wrap around your hand, pausing your motion. His right reached up to your face, upturned your head so you were looking up at him. As your eyes followed, your breath hitched in your throat as you saw that you were mere centimeters away from him. His minty breath fanned over your face, making you aware of him before you got lost in thought.
"And I will say them over and over again until you believe them. Until I am able to call you mine." He spoke with confidence, eyes flickering around to face to watch for a reaction. When you gave none, he leaned forward more, pressing his forehead against your own. His thumb caressed your cheek lovingly, his breathing slowly as he focused on controlling it. Loki's eyes peered into your own, taking in every detail. He watched your eyes flutter close as
He watched your eyes flutter close at the intimate notion. Loki's thumb caressed your cheek more, acting like it was a breakable piece of porcelain. He felt your cheeks slowly grow warm from the contact. Better me making her react like this then that measly fire. His joke made him chuckle, nuzzling his nose against yours as he tried to get closer to you. You mimicked his actions, leaning into his palm.
"Loki.."
"Yeah?" Smiling, you pulled away. Well, you tried. You really wanted to look Loki in the eye, but he wasn't having it. When you moved away, Loki let a low animalistic growl erupt from the bottom from his throat, eyes flashing with hunger. Your now relaxed eyes widened again, eagerly waiting for what he was going to do. And with one swift move, he grabbed you by the back of your head and kissed me with intense pressure. Lips locked onto yours, he moved into a different sitting position whilst holding your head. Loki straddled your lap as he moved his lips with your slowly, passionately. Gently clasping your hands around his neck, you nipped his bottom lip. As you did that, Loki let out an airy moan that you swallowed by kissing him one last time before pulling away, beaming brightly. Loki's eyes slowly open, glancing up into yours.
"I love you so, so much." Your voice was raspy, but that's okay. In the fire's dying glow, you watched his eyes darken – either with love or lust, you couldn't tell.
"And I, you, my Queen." He leaned in to kiss you, but you entwined your fingers into his long locks, gripping his hair carefully. He groaned as you kept his head in place. Flashing you an annoyed look, he tried to lean towards you again and failed.
"I'm not yours until you ask, dear King." Teasingly, you wrapped more of his silky hair around your fingers as you caressed his hair instead of tugging on it again. Eyeing you carefully, he once again leaned forward. You let him. Nuzzling against your face like a cat, he slowly started to leave a trail of kisses along your jaw. In between kisses, he started to ask the age old question.
"Y/N." Kiss "My queen." Kiss. "Will." Kiss. "You." Kiss. "Be." Kiss. "Mine?" As he placed the final kiss, he gently took some skin into his teeth, biting softly. Sucking in sharply, you leaned your head back as you tried to suppress the moan that clawed it's way up into your throat. You felt Loki lean his head further down, pressing against the base of your throat. He left slow kisses trailing upwards, awaiting your response. Being centimeters away from your chest, he felt your breathing start to falter and increase in pace. He reverse his action and started trailing kisses downwards towards the base of your neck.
"Yes, my King. I will be yours." You choked out as he continued leaving kisses along your neck. He paused in the middle of your neck, cool breath fanning over your neck. They also fanned over the wet kisses he left, causing you to shiver at the sudden temperature change.
"Excellent." Loki breathed, swiftly taking your neck into his mouth and biting hard. Mouth opening in surprise and pleasure, you arched up into him, allowing him more access. He eagerly took it, taking in more skin and biting more, letting it go after what felt like ages. Loki leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to the wound, arm wrapping around to rub circles on the small of your back reassuringly. His head rose as he hand pushed your head back up so he could look you in the eyes. A comforting silence fell upon you as you stared longingly into each others eyes. Eventually he leaned forward and captured your lips again, letting you entangle your hands into his hair more.
Loki kissed you slowly, with the same intensity he had when he kissed you fiercely earlier. You returned the same energy, not wanting to let him go. Lost in his lips slanting over yours, neither were aware of the fire breathing it's last breath. The warm glow dissipated, leaving the two of you in darkness.
You never thought you'd say this, but thank the Gods for Thor Odinson – and Loki's apparent dream.

Exciting and Fast Things (Loki x TVA!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Life at the TVA was boring. Of course, Loki had to be the one to spice up life there, specifically yours.
Word Count: 3214 Words
Author's Note: There is implied sexual content and light swearing, but there's not really a lot of details.
The TVA. The infamous Time Variance Authority. It was the only thing you had known since you were born. Or at least you were taught that. A man by the name of Mobius M. Mobius, who was obsessed with jet skis, had raised you as his daughter. He was kind, gentle, and very much dad material. You never really went to school, the knowledge just magically showed up as you got older. While you got older, your dad had discovered a variant. The variant had been killing minute men all across the timeline, causing a huge disruption in workflow.
The disruption mostly affected you. You worked as a file keeper and you had to constantly keep updating files as the minute men and women were killed and new ones were trained and brought in, minds clearly wiped. Well, in a sense. As far as you know, you were the only one who had been their your whole life, besides Mobius and Ravonna.
While you were working one day, an alarm started going off. It was on that didn't go off as often, but it piqued your interest. The light would flash whatever color an identified variant radiated. This one radiated green. Those who radiated green tended to be perfectionists, analytical, conceptual, cool, calm, inventive and logical. They could even be mischievous. The green ones were always rare, or at least that's what you thought. You've never met one. Well, that was until Mobius had identified the variant killing all personnel.
It was a Loki variant. Out of curiosity, you looked up the Loki variants on your computer. Most of the variants you saw were apparently "pruned." The one they had identified apparently was unlisted because you couldn't find on that was female, but seeing that all of them were fluid with sex and gender, you thought they had just shifted to a different form. As you scrolled through the files, one caught your eye. Loki Laufeyson, Timeline: 2012. You pulled the file up and scanned it. 2012? There's no way they're here now. As you read further, you found the status area. In bright red lettering read 'In Process Of Capture.'
Your thin brows furrowed lightly before returning back to their relaxed position. We capture them? You inquired mentally, not wanting a response. You shook it all off before closing down all the files and clearing the history. That was the number one rule when it came to computers in the TVA. You log in, get the information you require, and then you would clear out without a trace. You truly hated it, but it wasn't your place to complain about an extremely reasonable rule. Closing the area completely and locking it, you stared into the now dark area. I wonder if I'll ever meet on of these green Loki variants. You mused mentally, sighing as your keys bounced against your thigh as you made your way to your shared apartment with Mobius.
  Several Months Later...
Months had passed since the Loki variant was identified. You've never seen your dad more excited than that moment. Well, besides when he met you and he got new jet ski magazines. You only got them because they made him happy, but you were more into motorcycles. Running the risk of getting thrown off an open bike at high speed just appealed to you. Maybe you liked the idea of it. Or maybe it was the thrill. One of these days, you were determined to ride one at least.
Today, however, was not one of those days.
A week ago, the minute personnel was able to capture the 2012 Loki variant. While The Avengers going back in time to break the timeline was fate, Loki escaping with the tesseract was not. You stood by the docking bay, waiting eagerly to see the green variant. Your dad had been so excited about this, he wanted you to be there. He wanted you to see that all the hard work paid off. Of course, you had to stay in a corner, far out of harm's way. As the portal open up, the minute personnel pushed the variant through. Your breathing faltered as you took him in. He was menacing, but in a good way. He was extremely tall. If he were to stand by you, he would've loomed over you like a giant. The idea made you shiver, not with anxiety, but with.. anticipation. You wanted that to happen.
A loud clink caused you to focus back in on what was happening. The personnel was unlocking his chains, leaving his mouth guard for last. As they dropped the chains, they looked at the guard before deciding to leave it on until they got to booking. You stared intensely at the variant. The almost viridian green suit flattered his form quite well. Instinctively, your mouth turned up into a smirk at his appearance, eyes flickering to the sudden movement. Mobius had walked up to the variant, clearly pleased with himself.
"Loki Laufeyson. Glad you could be here." Mobius spoke courtly to him, which caused the man in front of him to roll his eyes. If you didn't know Mobius, you would've thought he would've pruned him right there and then at the action. But that's the thing – you did know him. Mobius would rather work along side this variant and understand him better in person than removing him from the timeline completely. Mobius gave a smile and stepped aside to let the guards through. They walked swiftly, afraid that Loki might try something while not locked up. You staring must've been felt because suddenly his eyes flickered over to your location. If you weren't mistaken, you could've swore you saw a hint of mischief glimmering in his eyes. Once he was out of sight, you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. Oh my god...You couldn't help, but mentally swooned over the variant. You had to manually take care of your breathing as you tried to compose yourself as Mobius came over, huge smile plastered on his face.
"Wasn't that awesome?!" Mobius spoke in a breathy voice, overwhelmed by the encounter. You shot him a small grin, happy that he finally got what he wanted. He pulled you into a huge, bear hug, rocking you back and forth. Mobius pulled away, pressed a kiss to your forehead. He shot you a toothy grin before glancing at one of his own personnel. They gave him some type of gesture, you believe it was to indicate that the variant was ready to be interviewed and he nodded before looking back at you.
"Well, I better go over the variant's history. I'll send my findings up to be filed in a bit." You barely nodded at him before you saw him basically run out of there to get to the interview room. Back against the wall, you stood there for a couple minutes. You would've spoken to Mobius instead of giving simple gestures, but it felt like Loki had stolen your voice. Clearing your throat, you pushed yourself off of the wall and walked out of the docking bay to the files room.
As you got settled in and started to dive into your work, your mind kept wandering to the variant. He was just so hypnotizing and he had you spellbound. Without moving your head, your eyes glanced up at the personnel walking by as you remember somewhere in the file that said his mother – well, adopted mother – had taught him magic. Had he casted an incantation on you? You pondered on this for a while before rolling your eyes.
"We all know magic is incapable of use here." You muttered, internally scolding yourself at the thought. You reached over to grab a file you had to digitize and placed it in the scanner. As you watched the devices bar of light through the closed lid, you realized that you weren't going to get a moment without thinking about the variant. You groaned, sitting back in your chair as you waited for the scanning to finish. You thought this was going to be a long day like the rest. However, it was starting to change. A long day? This was going to be a long week.
Every work day went the same way, but it appeared Mobius was spending more and more time with the Loki variant. Please let Mobius get his work done with Loki. You internally pleaded this for several mornings as you watched him rush from the apartment to meet up with the God. You placed your hands on the counter as your hung your head, mentally exhausted from thinking about Loki. Maybe you should talk to him? You suggested to yourself as you took in a deep breath, looking up. As you looked up, a magazine caught your eyes. You slid your body over the counter as you reached for it, smiling at the motorcycle on the front.
"Great," you started, slightly sarcastically. "An excuse not to have to file dad's notes yet. Score!" You celebrated a little before grabbing your things and walking down to files. You were going to file those note whether you liked it or not, you were just going to make it the first thing you did. Walking out, you locked the door, juggling the items you had in your hands. As you swung your bag over your shoulder in the hall, magazine in hand, you heard minute personnel talking behind you, boots rapidly hitting the ground loudly.
"Did you hear? Mobius is actually trusting the Loki variant to roam the place." The first one spoke, clearly astonished. The other one scoffed behind you.
"I think he's definitely gonna help." The second one's snide remark made you pick up the pace a bit, eager to get away from the negativity.
"Yeah, help himself." The first guard replied in a snarky manner before they both let out demeaning giggles rang out, nauseating you. You swallowed the feeling as you picked up the pace and made it to files. Looking up at the clock on the wall, you saw you were extremely early. Maybe I can get more work done. You mused to yourself as you got the area unlocked and ready for business. Dropping into your chair, you turned on the computer and logged in. As it logged in and took you to the homescreen, you zoned out. Was Mobius really letting Loki walk around freely? You pondered on what the hunters had said, jumping at a file being dropping on the counter. You looked at the guard, who in turn looked at you apologetically, muttering a 'sorry' before scurrying off to their post. You shook your head as you grabbed the file and placed it on the scanner. By the way it was going, you could already tell it was gonna be a long work day.
As hours passed, by the fourth hour of work, you had already gotten all your work done. Even though time moves differently here, it could at least speed the fuck up. You thought, grumpily. Normally at this time, you would have more files coming. You had gotten a notification that no more files were going to come until tomorrow due to printing error. As you sat there, wondering what to do, you remembered your motorcycle magazine. Grabbing it gleefully, you eagerly started to flip through the magazine. As you read each page, you basically checked out if the world around you. In fact, you were so engrossed with the magazine, you barely noticed that Loki had walked up to the counter in front of your desk. He leaned over the desk, examining you, waiting for you to notice his presence. His eyes raked over your body, enticed with what he was seeing. You were the most ravishing person he had ever had the pleasure of laying his eyes on. Gods, the things he would do to you if he had permission. He leaned further, not realizing you hadn't seen him. After a couple minutes, he decided to clear his throat to catch your attention. The sound startled you as you quickly closed the magazine and threw it under files, looking at the person briefly. As you adjusted yourself, you did a double-take of the person leaning comfortably across from you. You gulped, hoping your sudden nervousness wasn't apparent. He gave you a smile as he caught your eyes, easing the tensions, but causing your stomach to twist into knots. A sailor's knot to be specific, and it was quite uncomfortable. You turned your body more towards him, not realizing it allowed him to take you in fully. His blue eyes flickered down before they rose slowly back to yours.
"Hello, Loki Laufeyson." You spoke slowly, hoping your voice was as steady as you tried to make it. He hummed in response, scanning your chest for a name tag.
"Hello..." His voice trailed off, realizing he couldn't find your name anywhere.
"..None of your business." You finished his sentence, wanting to mess with him before you actually let him know your name. You couldn't imagine how wide his eyes would be when he learned who your dad was. You watched him suck in his cheeks, trying to figure out how to respond. His eyes closed as he head leaned back fully, allowed your eyes to slowly trail from the underside of his jaw to the bottom of his throat. It was the strangest thing, but you thought it was attractive seeing him like that.  I'd like to see that more often. You chewed on your lip as some questionable thoughts came to mind. His head fell back down, face covered with determination.
"Excuse my manners. You know my name, but I don't know yours. What is your name? A woman as ravishing as you must have a lovely name.." Loki's voice seemed to grow deeper as the sentence trailed off, flicking his out against his bottom lip as looking you up and down again, hoping you noticed. Without warning, your cheeks grew a little hot. Your eyes flickered down as you tried to make your cheeks go back to their normal hue, mentally scolding yourself. Loki smirked mischievously at your reaction. He watched your head turn back to him, ready to respond.
"It's Y/N. Y/N Mobius." You paused as you watched the gears turn in his head before his mouth formed an 'o' shape. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. That was definitely not the reaction you were expecting, let alone the one you wanted.
"He talked about you. I didn't connect the dots that you were his daughter until now." Loki shrugged nonchalantly, giving you a warm, cunning smile. All you did was nod in response. Now that these foolish semantics were done, you decide to find out why he was really here.
"Anyway, why are you here?" You inquired, reaching over to clear the computer before logging off. You won't remember to do so after this conversation. You glanced over at him as he quickly put his words together.
"Well, Y/N, I came to see the prettiest person at the TVA." He stated his true intentions, watching your face intently for a reaction. As he watched you stare blankly at him, he realized you might've been oblivious to his flirting attempts. This is going to be harder than I thought. He grumbled internally, throwing a mischievous smile on.
"That would be you, darling." The nickname rolled off of Loki's silver tongue, making your stomach twist tighter. Ignoring the internal war, you have a quick smile before going back to just staring at him. Your unimpressed look threw Loki off completely. He breathed in deeply, realizing he'd have to change the subject to keep this interaction going. He needed this to work.
"Um, anyway... What were you reading? You know, before I distracted you." He wiggled his eyebrows at you, watching your eyes flicker to the finish pile of files. Sighing, you dug out the magazine and tossed onto the counter besides Loki's arms. He eyes the magazine, taking in every detail.
"It's a motorcycle magazine." You explained blatantly, knowing he knew what it was. He hummed in response before chuckling.
"Your dad likes jet skis and you like motorcycles. Huh." He pondered for a second before continuing. "How interesting." One of his brows raised as he looked up at you, intrigued.
"What can I say? We both are drawn to exciting and fast things. It's our passion." You explained, hoping Loki was going somewhere with this conversation. If he wasn't, you were very much prepared to go home and sleep. He looked down as he licked his lips, eyes peering back up at you through his brows.
"You know, I'm very exciting." Loki stopped his sentence, hoping he had captured your attention. Your attentive eyes stared back at him, head tilting slightly to the right. Make this good, Laufeyson...You internally urged him, eyes squinting slightly.
"And I can go as fast as you like." His eyes flickered to your lips before moving back up, sending you a quick wink as he laughed darkly. You laughed nervously, biting your lip as you brought your hand up to the computer, turning it off. Well, if he's interested. Loki watched you push yourself away from the computer desk, eyes dropping down to your thighs. As much as he tried to stop himself and half some self control, he stared at them, sizing you up a bit. He nodded as his eyes trailed back up your body again, this time he did it seductively, causing your breath to hitch in your throat. You walked over to him slowly, hands slowly sliding up his body before settling on his chest, palm towards him. Loki watched you, eager for your next moves. You moved your right hand to grab his tie, gently tugging him towards you. Leaning your mouth up against the corner of his, the corners of your lips turning up teasingly, eyes fluttering closed.
"If you're so confident about that, let's find out." You whispered to him seductively, reaching out and biting his bottom lip. Loki growled at you, roughly grabbing your hips as he hungrily pressed his lips to yours, his tongue making it's way quickly into your own. You moaned as he continued to battle your own tongue, wrapping your arms around his neck. His tongue grazed against the inside of your mouth, exploring every inch. Suddenly remembering you were out in the open, kissing a variant, you pulled away for air. As you briskly locked everything up, leaving the magazine on the counter, you grabbed Loki's wrist and dragged him back to the shared apartment. You looked behind, winking at him before he hurried to walk beside you, slipping an arm around your waist. The slyness? The mischief? The analytical skills? Loki was without a doubt a green variant, and you were sure his personal skills were going to keep proving that.
You weren't entirely sure of what was going to happen tonight, but you were very eager to let it happen. You just hoped Mobius was so busy talking shop with Ravonna that he wouldn't be coming home.

Slushies (Loki x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Every now and then, you and Loki would go and hang out with each other. This time you two got slushies at the park. However, your true intentions are exposed when Thor sees that yours and Loki's tongues are purple.
Word Count: 2103 Words
Warnings: Nothing, but fluffy kissing.
Author's Note: I tried to add as much details as I could before I edited this one shot. Apologies if it's not as good as the others. Please enjoy.
Tossing your empty slushee cup into a bin nearby in the common room, you slowly trudged to the couch. You picked up the pace in fear of collapsing on the floor. As you flopped onto the couch face first, a very heavy chuckle sounded out by you. Startled, but really not caring, you peeked one eye up from the couch cushions to see Thor laughing at you. Not sure whether to feel offended or confused, you sat up and just started at him with a questioning look – at least that's what you hoped it was. The God of Thunder cackled harder at your facial expression, proving your attempt had miserably failed.
"Thor, why on Earth are you laughing at me?" You challenged the god, eyes narrowing as you sat yourself to look at the god fully. You sat back and watched Thor try to regain control over himself before he bursted into another fit of laughter. Just as the next fit started, Bruce walked in and handed you water. He quizzically looked over to Thor then back to you. You shrugged your shoulders as you took a big gulp of water. Feeling the cool refreshment trickle down your throat, you gave yourself a satisfied smile before taking another gulp. This time, you felt it trickle down your windpipe before it hit your throat. The sudden liquid mixing with your oxygen sent you into a coughing fit, glass of water falling out of your hand on to the floor. The glass somehow shattered on the floor as water spilled everywhere. This happened to drag Thor out of his laughing spell, his face flashing with concern as he quickly got up and rushed next to you. Faint footsteps from upstairs indicated Loki was coming down from his room to see what the commotion was about. Oh gods... Don't let him see me like this. You pleaded the Norns, but to no avail. He had entered the room just as you went into another coughing fit, the forced air burning your throat. Bruce gently bent your sitting body over your knees and rubbed your back in hopes of calming you down. Slowly, you felt the sudden pressure dissipate as light coughs erupted from you here and there.
Bruce and Thor gently pushed you back up as Loki just stood in front of you all, clearly confused. His eyes trickled down to the floor that was saturated with tap water and glass shards. His eyes widened as he looked up – scanning you first before scanning the other two for injures. He'd never admit it, but Loki cared for everyone's safety. Despite the past.
"Y/N, can you open up so I can observe your throat real quick?" Bruce asked warily, eyeing your face for a reaction as he took out a small pen light. You simply cracked open your jaw and turned your face towards him as he shined the light slightly above himself. He looked around for a hot minute before turning the light off and raising his hand to your jaw, pushing on it lightly to indicate you could close your mouth. As you did, his eyebrows furrowed. Thor and Loki caught this as you simply just stared at him, waiting for the diagnosis.
"It looks like it's all fine. Water must've accidentally got caught in your windpipe." Bruce paused, face contorting into a confused expression. "However, I'm not entirely sure why your tongue is purple. I don't think it was from a reaction from the water..." Bruce's voice trailed off as he looked down, gears turning. Thor sat back, glancing at Loki. It would've appeared that the God of Mischief had froze, which would be ironic for his case in general. Thor peered at him, slightly confused. Loki's silver tongue shot out to wet his lips as he waited there, trying to not show any signs of distress. A glimmer of purple caught Thor's eyes and he jumped up, pointing at Thor. Startled by the reaction, everyone looked at him, anxious about what was about to happen.
"Banner, his tongue is purple too!" Thor exclaimed, still not understanding what was going on. Bruce looked over at Loki, pondering his next words carefully.
"Did you two hang out today?" You peered into each other's eyes for reassurance before nodding slowly.
"Alright, what did you guys do? Did you drink some type of purple dye?" This time, only you shook your head, implying that wasn't what you did.
"No, we drank slushies." You stared, innocence gleaming in your eyes. Bruce looked at you, expected more. Before you could elaborate, he cut you off with another inquiry.
"Wait, purple..slushies? I wasn't aware that they even made grape slushies." He questioned you, eyes darting over to Thor who had moved to sit back down, still eyeing his brother. The corners of your mouth turned up into a small grin, turning your face towards Bruce.
"No, silly! I had a blue slushee." Bruce blinked slowly at your response.
"And I had the red slushee." Loki jumped in, not realizing that he might've set you both up for failure. Banner's eyes glanced over at him before letting them drop as he took in the information.
"That doesn't make any sense." Thor exclaimed. Apparently they didn't teach color theory on Asgard. Bruce shot him a look as he put two and two together.
"Oh my god..." His voice dripping with realization, his eyes widened as he glanced over at you then at Loki and back to you. Thor was just sitting there watching the interaction, slowly understanding that blue and red make purple when combined. Thor stood up walking to the window, turning around to face you guys as he got ready to ask a question. Bruce moved to a seat across the room just in case something happened and Loki had sat down next to you, avoiding the glass on the floor.
"Y/N." Thor's stern voice made you look at him, his thick eyebrows furrowed at the situation.
"Y/N, what did you and my brother do today?"
"We went to the park." You answered, making your voice sound as confident as possible. If you believed in your answer as much as you said it, maybe they would believe it.
"And what did you do at the park?" Thor's eyebrows relaxed for a second before they raised, eyes looking right through you and your responses. You swallowed harshly before you decided to carry out the tale you had spun. It was only half-truths. Until now.
"We drank our slushies. Duh." Your matter-of-fact tone kind of felt forced, making Thor feel dubious about your answers.
"And then what did you do?" Faltering, your mouth opened and closed, not knowing how to respond. Beside you, Loki's mouth opened up and closed again like a fish gasping for air. Realizing you probably couldn't say 'Well, we tried each other's slushies' due to the fact your tongues were dark purple – which would mean you did drink a lot of each other's drink – you looked over to Loki as the other two stared at you.
"Do you think that's why our tongues are purple?" You whispered to him, not realizing the others could hear what you had said. Loki's head snapped towards yours, trying to shush you with a look.
"Shut up." Loki coughed, looking up at his brother and shooting him a cheshire grin. Rolling your eyes, you scoffed at him.
"I told you not to use tongue." The man next to you groaned, throwing his head against the back of the cough. Thor fake gagged at the image of you and Loki kissing, his tongue down your throat. Bruce just looked at you in horror. He didn't think that you of all people would kiss Loki, but you did. Thor walked off to get a towel and broom to clean up the mess infront of the couch, drawing Bruce out of his gaze on the both of you. He got up and followed Thor, leaving the two of you alone. With the two Avengers gone, the tension rose significantly. Loki groaned as he rubbed his hand against his face, before sitting back up and looking at you blankly.
"Oops?" You look at him sheepishly, not knowing what to say. He eyed you for a long time, not saying anything. The silence tricked your brain into thinking he was mad about what had happened and you looked away, taking in a shakey breath. Well, I blew it. You beat yourself up internally, turning your head away and closed your eyes. Cold fingers caught your jaw gently, turning your head back towards you. Your eyes fluttered open, centimeters away from Loki's face. Feeling your breathing hitch, you focused on his eyes, fearing for what was going to follow suit. He took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. The air slowly blew over your face. It felt cool and smelled minty. How odd for a frost giant to emulate a breath mint. You chuckled at the thought, drawing a smile to the god's face.
"You're lucky I'm over the moon for you." Loki breathed, hand reaching further up and cupping your face. One of your brows raised, questioning his response. As an awkward silence fell upon you, you pressed your forehead to his, gazing deep into his eyes. I could admire him forever. You mentally noted, eyes slowly skimming his face. Loki's heart seem to pick up pace as you got closer, heart nearly pounding out of his chest. With how close you were to him, he pleaded the Norns to not let you feel what you were doing to him. At least, not right now. A god doesn't plead. Loki briskly thought as his pleas grew louder and louder at the back of his mind. But for you? He would beg for eternity. Watching deep in thought, you opened your mouth to inquire further, but he swiftly inclined his face more into your own, capturing your lips with his own. Melting into the kiss, you turned your body towards him, allowing him more access.
His other hand reached around your waist and pulled to closer to him, trying to get you as close as possible to him. Hand pressed firmly against the small of your back, he hungrily reached out and took your kiss-swollen bottom lip in between his teeth, biting down lightly before letting it drop back into is rightful place. As he did so, you let out an airy moan – one that was audible enough for the two of you to hear – muffled by Loki's lips. With your mouth open, Loki took advantage of the moment and slipped his tongue into your mouth, invading your own tongue's space. His smooth tongue plunged into your mouth, slithering around like an eel maneuvering through the ocean floor. The action blocked out all of your senses, overpowering them all as Loki's tongue sought an unreachable terminus near your uvula. You focused more on relaxing and allowing his tongue to thoroughly explore your mouth; it swirled around, it pulsated, and made contortive sweeps of your mouth’s vault: you certain that at least once it turned upside down. His chest was pressed against yours, feeling it slow it's heaving pace. The god recognized that you were probably in need of a deep breath, or at least moment to comprehend what had just happened.
As he slowly broke away from you, longing to imitate what had just happened, a very, throaty gag sounded by the door frame, makingboth of your eyes shoot open and darting towards the location. Thor gagged more as he walked away, muttering 'nope' several times as he abandoned Bruce who just looked at the two people on the couch, mouth gaping at what he had witness. Loki gave a sheepish smile as he laughed lightly, pressing his forehead to the side of your face, nuzzling is has laughter started to bubble out of you. Trying to give an apologetic look to the now leaving Bruce, you wrapped your arms around Loki's shaking form, clinging onto him like he would disappear.
"I can say without a doubt," you started, pausing to make sure you had Loki's attention. His head brushed against you like a sly cat looking for attention. "That was definitely better than what happened at the park." Tightening your grip around Loki, you pulled him closer. He hummed in response, agreeing that it was definitely better. Even though this was the first time a slushee had ratted out what you two do when alone, it was certainly worth what happened after.
And it sure as Hel wasn't going to be the last time it happened.

Accidental Injuries (Loki x Injured! Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Sometimes accidental injuries can lead to amazing things.
Word Count: 1749 Words
Author's Note: My initial plan was to try to post a one shot every day, but I forgot I had to study for something coming up. Here's a draft that I've recently edited! Please enjoy!
"Well that was pretty rude to say." Clint chirped, smiling smugly at you. Scowling, you picked up a strawberry and threw it at him. Hearing the light smack against his face, you bit your lip while looking down, trying to contain your giggles.
"Not my problem, birdbrain. You know you're picky about how your cereal is made and it's weird." You shot back at him as he tried to flick a cheerio at you. Missing completely, you narrowed your eyes as you reached for another strawberry. A hand reached out and smacked yours away, causing you to yell 'hey!' at the culprit. Steve smiled at you as he sat down next to you.
"Are you guys done being children?" The super soldier inquired, clearly amused, but tried to keep the stern parent-like expression.
"I'm done if he's ready to pour his cereal like a normal person." Jabbing your spoon into your own cereal, you raised your eyes to Clint's, watching him get annoyed.
"I'm done if she's ready to admit her feelings for-" you grabbed a hand full of Clint's Cheerios, throwing them into his mouth so he wouldn't continue. Steve's eyebrows rose, clearly interested in who had caught your eye. By his experience, you had pretty high standards when it came to a partner.
"I surrender, bigmouth." You sneered jokingly, walking around the table, out of the room. As you rounded the corner swiftly, you ran straight into someone's broad chest. You quickly backed away and met the eyes of Loki. Gulping, you opened your mouth to apologize, but he silenced you.
"Midgardian, you should watch where you're going." Loki warned you, voice deeper than normal. It was almost threatening. Your eyes widened at his tone, looking away from him Not trusting your voice, you just simply nodded at his warning, suggestion, whatever you want to call it. You briskly passed him and continue down the hallway.
Further down the hallway, you passed Sam. You gave him a polite smile before falling deep into thought. Loki's never like that. You deduced as your walking pace slowing was slowing as more and more thoughts intruded your brain. When you bumped into a corner, all those thoughts dissipated as your hand shot up to rub where you had contacted the corner.
"Ouch..." You muttered, looking down at your shoulder. For as slow as you were going, you hit the corner pretty hard. A light throbbing spread throughout your upper arm which caused you to groan, clearly annoyed at the sudden pain. Mind going blank, you walked back to the floor you shared with the two god's. Your feet automatically carried you to your room's bathroom, where you opened up the cabinet and grabbed painkillers. Tiny rust red pills in hand, you made your way to the kitchen. You grabbed a small cup to put water in and popped the pills into your mouth as you brought the cup up to your lips. Taking a gulp of cold water, you turned around and opened the freezer. Your Y/E/C eyes scanned frantically before they landed on an icepack. You finished your water before grabbing the icepack. Placing the cup in the sink, icepack in hand, you turned and closed the freezer door. Tony would kill you if you left it open. It's not like it would matter or anything.
You carefully pressed the icepack to your injured shoulder, sharply taking in a breath as your arm throbbed even more. Against your better judgement, you pressed against it harder, hoping it would make the pain stop. It did not. Instead, pain writhed throughout your entire arm. The sudden reaction brought tears to the brim of your eyes as you winced. Damn it. You swore mentally, the pain seeming to increase by the millisecond. Why can't I pay more attention? You scolded yourself, walking over to sit at the kitchen table. Hand pressing the icepack to your shoulder tightly, your head lowered itself to the table. You sighed as you moved your head so that the right side of your face pressed against the table. Doing so allowed you to peer out the windows next to the table. A few birds flew past as you watched the endless amount of trees wave in the wind. You were so busy watching the outside world you didn't notice the person who entered the floor. The clearing of someone's throat brought you back to reality – and to feeling the throbbing in your arm. Face still pressed to the table, you thought up a response.
"Whomever you are, please, leave me alone." You cringed as you listened to your voice. It sounded desperate and whiney, the complete opposite of what it normally sounded like. The person's eyebrows rose in concern at the sound, wandering over to the table to take a seat. You felt their eyes watching you as you tried to zone out again.
"What's that?" A deep voice questioned aloud. God, forthe voice sounded how mulled wine tasted. You mused as you tried to figure out what the person was asking about. Your brain didn't spend the time to figure out who it was. Maybe the company would be nice.
"What's...what?" You retorted, clearly confused on what they were talking about. A small chuckle emerged from the person at the table, which in turn made a small smile cross your face as the pain started to slip away. A light pressure pressed against your icepack, indicating the person had pressed against it.
"Ohh..that. Well, it's an icepack." Your tone was laced with sarcasm, annoyed that the person didn't know.
"What's it for?"
"Something stupid." You really didn't want to admit to anyone that you were so lost in thought that you got injured. You could practically feel the frown the person was giving you at those words.
"What stupid thing is it for?" The person pried, not wanting to give up.
"Like I said, dear person, it's for something stupid." You were getting annoyed. Hopefully, whoever that was with you would just give up and leave you stew in your own physical misery.
"What stupid–wait, you don't know who I am?" The person questioned you, their tone laced with curiosity and a twinge if hurt.
"Do I look like the type of person to sit down and memorize everyone's voice?" You asked the person, not necessarily wanting a response. Your hand absentmindedly pressed the icepack harder onto your wound, making you hiss as the pain started back up. The person with you clearly notice and moved their chair closer to yours. Hesitantly, they grabbed your wrist and lowered it to your lap. The person then picked up the edge of your sleeve and rolled it up. The person beside you made a sharp, audible breath as they examined your arm. They sighed as they took the icepack from you, gently pressing it to the injury location.
"Well, I would say you were pretty worried about my different tone of voice today." The person mused at you, voice radiating sadness. Your eyebrows furrowed. What? Several moments passed before all the pieces fell into place and clicked. Apparently you were more oblivious than you thought.
"Loki? How do you know what I was thinking?" You hastily questioned, still not moving your head. He laughed lightly.
"You weren't exactly keeping your thoughts to yourself. You were speaking them aloud, but not too loud." As he said that, you felt your stomach twist into several knots. You weren't entirely worried about him hearing your thoughts, oh no, you were more worried about the team hearing them. You would be teased until you were placed six feet below. You sighed, trying to lift your head, failing as it fell back to the table. For some reason, it just felt like several boulders were resting on your head. They kept it weighted down. Loki noticed and reached over with the hand not tending to your arm. His cold hand slowly moved under your head before cupping it as he lifted it. He help you turn your head towards him as his thumb started to brush back and forth against your cheek. Silence fell upon both of you as you stared deeply into each other's eyes. You both wanted to cherish this moment forever, though, neither of you would ever admit to it. After a few minutes, he broke contact, a playful smile pulling at his lips as he looked at his lap before looking back at you. A content smile spread across your face as you looked back at him.
"So what stupid thing did you do, darling?" He questioned teasingly, eyes filled with amusement. You rolled your eyes at him, smile never dropping from your face.
"I may or may not have ran into a corner while deep in thought..." Your voice trailed off as your face grew red with embarrassment. You closed your eyes, expecting Loki to tease and laugh harshly at you. Instead, he just smiled and pressed his forehead to yours, nuzzling his nose against yours.
"You're very clumsy, but at least your cuteness makes up for it, darling." He whispered to you, leaning into you more to press his lips to yours. In any other situation, you would've been taken aback. However, in this instance, you were eagerly waiting for this to happen. You returned the gesture as you felt your face grow even more hot. The kiss was long and slow as he cupped your face tenderly. He pulled away, still leaning his forehead against yours, letting you catch your breath. It felt like you two had sat like that forever before you spoke up.
"You think I'm cute?" You muttered teasingly, pressing a kiss to the corner of the god's mouth. An extremely, joyous laught came from Loki. A sound that hadn't been heard for too long. Your smile grew wider as you closed the gap between the two of you, silencing his giggles. You could still feel the smile plastered on his face through the kiss, but that just made you kiss him like he was going to disappear. The hand that was cupping your face moved to the back of your neck, pressing you closer to him. His other hand pressed the icepack against your shoulder with more pressure, the sudden pain not bothering you as much as it did before.
While you still had a throbbing pain in your arm, Loki was a better distraction from it than birds playing outside the compound windows.

You're Sweet Enough (Loki x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: When Loki moved into the compound, you were unsure on whether he'd like the tea you had gotten him. Come to find out, apparently it was more than tea that he liked.
Word Count: 1593 Words
Warnings: None :)
Every morning, you had woken up early to get coffee ready for the rest of the team. You know that Natasha took her coffee black, Tony made a protein shake (for some reason), and Bucky's coffee was almost a beige color after he mixed it. When Loki moved into the building, you had asked Thor what he liked to drink in the morning. You expected a direct response, but got a shrug as he claimed he might like tea. Might being the key word. Either the god would be pleased or try to sacrifice you later on that day.
Stepping down the stairs quietly, you tried to remember if there was a kettle in the kitchen. You looked around silently in the kitchen before finding the kettle. You filled the kettle and the coffee pot up with water before placing them in their rightful places. You waited an hour before you turned the stove on for it the water to boil. During this time, you searched for the tea you had bought the day before. Huh. You thought as you open the package up. It's already missing a bag. You shrugged, grabbed the honey too, and sat them beside the kettle as you went and took a seat at the table.
As everyone slowly started to file in, making it less conspicuous that you had gotten up early just to figure out Loki's morning beverage, you looked up slightly as you saw him enter the kitchen. Natasha and Wanda dragged you into, leaving you distracted. You didn't get to see the pleased look he had when he left the kitchen, unknowing that it was you that set it up. This went on for months. You had stocked up the particular brand of tea you figured he'd like and since it diminished, you figured right.
One night, you weren't able to sleep. After tossing and turning for what seemed like forever, you gave up on sleep and decided to roam around the compound. Carefully opening your door, you quickly went downstairs, turning right so you could walk the long way around to the kitchen. You slowed your pace so you look outside and see the city lights flickering. Smiling, you walked all the way around and made it into the area of the kitchen. You saw someone slowly make their way into the kitchen. The tall, lanky figure was a dead giveaway for the god you tried so hard to please. Stopping in your tracks you tried to figure out if you just wanted to go upstairs or try to conversing with him. If he doesn't want you there, he'll either tell you or walk away. You mentally declared as you advanced into the kitchen.
"Hello, Y/N." Loki's voice startled you as you entered, causing you to look at him with wide eyes. Swallowing harshly, you looked away.
"Hello, Loki. What brings you down here?" You inquired, opening a cabinet to grab a glass for water. Out of the corner of your eye you saw him turn towards you.
"What?" You watched him frown slightly then a confused expression plastered his handsomely sculpted face.
"Would you like to have some tea with me? It appears someone keeps stocking it up for me. I wish I knew who.." His voice trailed off as he looked at the box of tea, eyebrows furrowed. Loki's eyes widened as he realized he didn't give you a second option, or in his words, a way out.
"That's only if you want. I'm assuming you just want wat-"
"No no, I'll gladly join you." You cut him off, throwing a genuine smiling his way. He nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he turned away to make your guy's tea. He wants me to join, this is good. This is progress. Maybe you have a chance after all. You though happily, trying to figure out how to approach the rest of the conversation.
"Do you like the tea?" Putting the glass away, you opened a different cabinet to grab honey and sugar. You set it onto the the kitchen island, watching Loki nod.
"Yeah, I'd really like to find out who's been getting it. It's really good. I'd love to thank them thoroughly." He met your eyes, beaming as he set the cups onto the island. He plopped the teabags into each up, filling it up three-fourths of the way up. You pulled out your phone to set a four minute time to give it time to steep. When you looked up, you saw Loki's confused expression.
"Oh, you have to let the bags steep so the herbs infuse the hot water. I'm not good with time management ment so-" you wave towards your phone. "-I have to set a timer." You smile nervously at him as his expression went blank. Looking down, you elected to just watch the numbers tick down to avoid looking at Loki. Clearly, you were unaware of his eyes trying to burn holes into your skull, smiling at you.
"You look like a Picasso painting." He muttered, watching the moonlight dance on your skin as he looked at you. As you felt heat rise into your cheeks, your eyebrows furrowed confused. What does he mean by Picasso?
"Loki, you do know how Picasso painted people...right?" You turned and looked him straight in the eye. His eyes widened, realizing he indeed did NOT know how Picasso painted people or interpreted them. Loki watched as you cancelled the alarm and head to Google, looking up 'Picasso People.' Several abstract images of people popped up onto your screen as you turned the phone and slid it towards him. Watching his expression, you didn't think it was possible for him to widen his eyes anymore. You chuckled as you gently took out the tea bags, watching Loki slowly scroll through the images.
"Y/N, I-I swear I didn't mean to-" Loki stuttered, causing him to become more flustered at this sudden encounter.
"Hey, it's fine. Do you want sugar?" You cut him off, holding the sugar up to him. Loki turned your phone off and placed it next to you.
"No thank you, you're sweet enough." Loki shot you a playful smirk, stirring in honey. Feeling your cheeks redden and stomach twist into knots at his words, you raised your cup up to your face, diverting your gaze to a bright, blinking light outside. Honestly, you didn't register the taste of the tea. You only focused on the light and how you were feeling right now. Your stomach felt like to was doing summersaults, cheeks heating up whenever Loki complimented you, body almost shutting down at him smiling at you so much. Loki watched your face, taking in each intimate detail of your expression. He smiled happily at you as you focused on the silent, outside world. Norns, what this woman does to me. Loki quipped mentally, smiling even more. You saw the facial expression in your peripheral vision, eyes training on the inside of your cup.
"God, Loki, you're all smiles tonight." You thought silently, but seeing his eyes dart over to you, you realized you had said that out loud. Putting your tea down, you shifted uncomfortably. Loki reached out to comfort you, placing his hand on the side of your arm, rubbing small circles to ease the tension.
"I'm only smiles because of you, my dear." His eyes glinted with a knowing look. You nodded slightly, acknowledging his statement.
"Actually, I was wondering if you'd like to accompany me on a walk later today." Loki questioned you hopefully, eyes looking into yours. longingly. He held onto your gaze, and you couldn't find the strength to pull your eyes from his. It's like he casted a spell upon you while you stared at him. Grinning, you nodded in response eagerly.
"I would love that, Loki." A shiver worked it's way up Loki's spine at the sound of your voice, it sounded like velvet and dripped with honey. He let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding in. You chuckled, grinning at the nervous god. Reaching up and grabbing his shoulders gently, you placed a kiss on the corner of his mouth. You nuzzled against his face for a second before backing away. Quickly retreating, you placed your cup in the kitchen sink and walked briskly out of the area – stopping to peek around the corner.
"Hey Loki?" You called out, stomach turning into knots as butterflies made me their presence known. He turn his head towards you, acknowledging your question.
"I'm really glad you like the tea. I was worried you wouldn't." You watched the gears turn in his head as he realizes it was you that bought him the tea. It was you that took the time to get him something to make his stay here more bearable. The corners of his eyes crinkled as his solemn expression turned into a content one. Eyes smiling, he turned more towards you, he open his mouth to say something, but closed it again. Aw, I left him speechless. You admired the action before meeting his eyes.
"Goodnight, Loki. I'll see you later today." You chirped before walking back up the stairs, hyper aware of Loki listening to the soft padding of your feet hitting the ground lightly.
"Goodnight, Y/N. Sweet dreams, my love." Loki whispered, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he peered into his cup of tea, eyes sparkling a bit more than normal.

They're Not You (Loki x Heartbroken!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After breaking up with your boyfriend of one year, you start to realize that maybe he wasn't really the best choice for you. But who is the best choice?
Word Count: 1468 Words
Warnings: Implied Sexual Context, Swearing
Author's Note: This isn't the best one I've come up with, but it's been sitting in my drafts. I hope you all enjoy.
"Good morning, Y/N" Loki's voice rang out behind you cheerfully, making you cringe. Loki, it is 5 in the fucking morning, tone down the happy. You scolded him mentally, decided against acknowledging him. Shifting on the couch, you felt your spine crack more. This caused you to groan and regret sleeping down here on the couch. You had broken up with the guy you were with for the past year. He was sweet, loving, considerate, and all that jazz. He was the man everyone would want. Well, everyone, but you. When Loki moved in, your life completely changed. He made you realize you weren't truly in love with your now ex boyfriend – you were just filling a gap. Loki made you feel wanted, your ex just made you feel like a burden. There was a huge difference between the two, but you weren't about to risk a friendship on it.
You didn't acknowledge Loki's greeting, but instead grabbed your phone, opening it to mass delete everything you had of your ex. Selfies, texts, family pictures, all of it. You even removed him from all of your socials and put them on private. You wanted absolutely no contact with that man. As you did that, you had zoned out completely, not noticing Loki trot back in confused. Why did she not reciprocate the greeting? Did I do something? The god questioned as he wracked his brain for an answer. Deciding not to pry, he walked back upstairs. Maybe he should just stay up there today.
Your eyes caught glimpse of movement as you saw Loki go back upstairs looking..upset? No, he couldn't be..could he? You thought astonished. Why would he be upset? You brushed off all the questions and went back to the relationship purge. After you had selected a good amount of pictures, you stumbled upon a photo of you and Loki. He really didn't want the photo, but he relented as he saw how happy you were when you asked. You didn't feel the smile come across your face as you stared at the photo, reminiscing on that night. A teasing voice pulled you out of your train of thought, making you try to hide your phone as soon as possible.
"Ooo, is that a text from your boyfriend?" Natasha asked accusingly, smirking. She watched your head drop sadly as you shook your head. Brows furrowed, she quickly came around the couch, sitting by you. Reaching her hand out and grabbing your hands gently. The contact pulled at something, you didn't know what because tears started streaming down your face. Sighing, Natasha pulled you into her arms. You stayed like that for what felt like a long time, crying out every last bit of feeling you had onto Natasha's shirt. Eventually you pulled away, sniffling.
"I'm so sorry, Nat." Voice cracking, you gestured to her shirt as she blew you off.
"There's no need to apologize. You're hurting. And I want to make sure you're okay." Her eyes screamed that she cared. This made you relax as you took a couple deep breaths to get ready to say what you want to say.
"Me and that guy broke up. I realized I wasn't in love with him, but someone else..." Your voice trailed as you looked down as your hand, bending each finger individually. Her hands were still in yours so she squeezed yours gently, encouraging you to tell her who else you were into.
"I'mkindofinlovewithLoki." You spewed your sentence out faster than you could process. Eyes widening, you looked at her as she stared at you. You could see gears turning as Natasha tried to figure out what you said. I hope I said it too fast. You mentally pleaded, but you saw a smile plaster itself upon her face. Groaning, you leaned back against the arm of the couch. You grabbed a pillow and covered your face as you heard her make a small squeal.
"Y/N! This is great! That other guy was such a pushover. I mean come on, I don't know what you saw in him." Natasha droned on and on about how bad he was for you and as a person, unaware of the god leaning against the stair railing above you guys, listening to each word like his life depended on it.
                                       ⏱⏱⏱
Hours passed, you had eventually got Natasha to stop degrading your ex so you could go upstairs and sleep properly. She whined, but eventually let you go as she remembered you telling her you stayed down there to cry. Bidding her farewell for the day, you walked up the stairs tiredly. Once you reached your room, you pushed the door open and closed it as you quickly changed into a pair of shorts. God, I can't wait to sleep for a millennia. Your brain felt like it had shut down completely as you fell onto your bed, groaning as your body relaxed against the soft surface.
As you were about to drift into dreamland, a light knock came at your door before the visitor pushed in the door.
"I was going to say come in, but sure, let yourself in." You declared sleepily as you turned onto your side and gave the person room to sit down. The bed dipped, indicating that they did so.
"I'm sorry, I thought I'd check in on you since you seemed distracted today." Loki's replied as he watched your eyes shoot open, staring at nothing in particular. Your breath hitched as you looked at the handsome god. Smiling nervously, you turned and looked at him.
"It's nothing really. I just.." Your voice trailed off as you had an inner battle with yourself. Tell him the truth and watch him get mad or tell him a lie and he'll leave you alone. Shrugging, you went with the truth.
"...I broke up with my boyfriend. I realized that I didn't actually love him." Loki nodded, understanding the words that you spoke. His eyes looked up and caught yours, glinting with concern. His face twisted into another expression, one that expected you to go on. Peering at the window in your room, you gained interested in a plane flying across the sky.
"Is that the only reason?" Loki asked, watching your somewhat content expression fall.
"I can't keep kissing strangers, Loki. Especially if I end up not loving them. I feel like...I'm leading them on, y'know?" It wasn't a complete lie. You just left out the bit that you wanted to kiss him. You wanted to kiss him for the rest of your life. Spending every waking second with him, not a care in the world. You wanted him.
"That's not all, is it? You know you can tell me anything right?" He pressed further, wanting you to admit to what you had said with Natasha.
"I'm not sure what you mean." You pursed your lips as you looked him in the eye.
"I can tell when someone is lying, love. I am the God of Mischief and Lies, remember?" He had a good point. Loki watched you sigh and push yourself away, giving him a lot of distance. He narrowed his eyes and adjusted himself so he would be facing you on the bed, eyes watching you intently.
"I can't keep kissing strangers and pretending that they're you. God, I wish they were you, but they aren't." After hearing your voice crack, he watched tears brim your eyes, threatening to fall. Half expecting you to swat him away, he reached his hand out to grab yours comfortingly. You didn't pull away, but you accepted it, surprised. Taking a deep breath, you reached up and wiped the tears away.
"Loki, I'm so so-" You were cut off by Loki pulled you towards him, breaking the distance between you two. He hungrily pressed his lips against yours, holding back a moan as he felt your hands explore his body. Reaching his hand up to hold the back of your head, he held onto the kiss for a couple more seconds, breathing heavily as he pressed his forehead against yours.
"Don't be sorry, darling. I can't fathom kissing anyone without seeing you, but I think I could wait forever for you." Your heart swooned over his words as you slid your hands up his neck, cupping his face.
"Good thing you don't have to wait." Your eyes flickered down to his lips then back to his now open ones. Getting the hint, he smashed his lips back onto yours, leaning you back until your back hit the bed. He gripped your sides as he broke the kiss, moving down to gently bite your eat. The action elicited a moan from you, making him bite harder, growling.
Needless to say, you probably weren't going to get any sleep that night. And honestly that was okay.

How Far Is Too Far? (Loki x Protective!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After moving into the Avengers compound, reader had adjusted to the joking tones of their fellow members. When Loki moves into the building, the teasing from Tony strikes a nerve with the reader.
Word Count: 2059 Words
After living in the Avengers compound since the New York attack, you've watched your teammates insult each other jokingly. Steve would throw jabs at Natasha and Bucky during workouts, Sam would join in and get dragged into a big, playful tussle. Even though you sat on the sidelines with Wanda, you still enjoyed watching them pick on each other. You could easily say you have adjusted to each team members tone to identify when they were messing around.
When Thor brought his mischievous brother to live amongst you all, the humor laced tones diminished into bitterness whenever he was present. Tony seemed to be the only one who would acknowledge his presence with crude words while the others gave each other knowing looks. You lost track of how many insults that man could throw at Loki throughout the day. You were beginning to think that was all Tony could do to keep himself entertained. While you weren't entirely sure, whenever a harsh jab got spouted in the god's direction, a flicker of hurt crossed his eyes before they returned to their cold appearance. This, of course, worried you since Loki was apart of the team now and deserved the same respect everyone else got. Everyone had warmed up to the idea of him being there after he had proved himself worthy in combat, but Tony was still on the fence.
After returning from a mission, you'd stumbled upon Tony in his workshop talking to himself as he tweaked his suit. If no one else was going to confront Tony about his snide comments, you were. You had seen a completely different side to Loki today when retrieving information. It was almost like he started to trust you guys and they trusted him. Taking a deep breath, you slowly pushed up the workshop door and waited for Tony to acknowledge your presence. When he finally looked up, he gave you a pleased smile before returning to working on his suit.
"Hey kid, how'd the mission go?" Tony grunted as he reached deep into the suit to grab a tool he'd dropped.
"It went very well. I think Loki's actually starting to trust us." Responding with a hopeful voice, you turned to look for a seat just in case this conversation got lengthy. Tony's face appeared above the suit, eyebrows furrowed at your statement.
"Listen, Y/N. Don't go relying on Mr. Freeze. He trusts no one, but himself." He pointed his wrench at you as if he was scolding you with his finger before turning to find the tool he really needed. A tense silence brushed over you at his words, the only sound being Tony's tools clanging together kept your focus. Briskly standing up, you pushed in your seat. If he was to play that card, let him. I'm not going to stand for it.
"Tony, you seem to be the only asshole here that believes that. I don't understand why you can't just accept that Loki is here to change, not create conflict." You looked at the man across from you, who was clearly taken aback. The silence motivated you to go on.
"The amount of times that man as saved your ass, Stark. You owe him a bit of courtesy as he holds a position on this damn team. How far is too far?" Feeling anger bubbling throughout your body, you reached out and shoved your palm against the counter next to you, taking deep breaths. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Tony nodding in agreement, going to open his mouth to respond when someone cut him off.
"And I don't need a pitiful excuse of a Midgardian to stick up for me. Maybe you should keep your nose out of other people's businesses." Loki's cold, irritated voice rang out from behind the both of you. Tony only looked at you ask you turned around to face the God of Mischief. You felt the anger dissipate as your fiery determination left your eyes. Loki's cold demeanor seemed to of softened as he realized that he had hurt you. Regretting his words, he tried to muster up the courage to reach out to you, but you backed away from him. Diverting your eyes, you straightened up your posture and nodded in response to his words.
"That's fine by me." You gritted your teeth as you rushed out there, bumping into the god's shoulder as you rushed out of there as quickly as possible. You didn't mean to of upset Loki by any means, you were just tired of Tony walking all over him like he was a rug that no one liked. Once out into the corridor, tears seemed to brim your eyes as you briskly walked to your room, picking up pace every second you could. When you reached the floor you ironically shared with Loki, you almost collapsed in the living room. Any other time, those words would've never fazed you. Hell, they would've make you smirk in response to his cruel statement. But this time? This time it was different. It didn't take you long to realize you had developed feelings for the god, but you were afraid to reveal them. What if he judged you for falling for him? Gathering your emotions, you stumble up the stairs to your room. The quicker you could get up to your room, the less of a risk of Loki coming up and seeing you.
"God, why does this hurt so much?" Your strained voice cracked as your back hit your door, sliding quickly down it. Quite sobs racked your body as the tears just kept pouring down your face and your body curled up into an upright fatal position. Your self-loathing thoughts swam around your head faster than you could get the chance to process them as you rocked yourself. The thoughts soon laced themselves together, making you fall into a mindless fog. You tried to stop sobbing, trying to regain control over your breathing as tears slowly made their way down your flushed cheeks. Your ragged breaths seem to drown out the sudden knock at your door. After a couple minutes, the door suddenly swung outward, reminding you that you still had to convince Clint to come fix your door. Your body fell back onto the floor against someone's shoes. Realizing you didn't lock your door, you looked up into the soft, concerned eyes of the guy you were just trying to defend. Sniffling, your hands shot up and pressed against your tear streaked cheeks, quickly wiping your face so tears weren't present. After a couple seconds, you scrambled to your feet, quickly walking into your room to avoid any violent confrontation with him.
Blowing your nose, you heard your door close. Thank the Gods, I'm alone now. You thought as you sighed raggedly before turning around into the firm chest of Loki. The sudden impact didn't make him budge, but it made you try to back away to give him space. Instead he gently grabbed you and pulled you back in, wrapping his arms tightly around your frame. You tensed at the sudden contact, frozen in place. Loki's hands started rubbing circles on your midsection, hoping it would ease you into the hug. Minutes passed before you finally relented and tightly wrapped your arms around his torso as if your life depended on it. The movement caused a low chuckle to emit from the man holding you, the sound's rumble against you caused you to shiver. Comfortable silence fell upon you two as you both embraced each other.
"So," Loki's now soft and sincere sounding broke the silence. "Why are you in here crying?" He asked, but you knew he already had a good idea of why you were in here crying. He just needed clarification. Do I really want to give him that? You questioned yourself as you swallowed the lump in your throat.
"None of your business, Frosty" you muttered, adding the nickname to try to lighten the mood as you shoved your face into his chest. A disappointed sigh escaped his lips as he pried you away from his body, far enough for him to try to look you in the eye. Except you just looked away from him, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. He watched your eyes flicker to different objects lying in your room as you tried to find something to focus on.
"Y/N" He spoke, expecting you to respond with a glance.
"Love?"
"Darling?"
"Sweetheart?" He stopped, trying to think of a nickname that would bring you to look at him.
"Angel?" Loki tried to lace the name with as much love and care as he could, move his head to try to meet your eyes. Even though the room was dark, he was able to subtly see your flushed cheeks grow red at the nickname as your eyes slowly met his. Giving a small, victorious smile, he decided to go on.
"It's my business if you're crying because of me." He stated, making it clear that it wasn't up for debate. You nervously took your bottom lip into your mouth, chewing on it as you thought about what you wanted to say to him. His eyes pierced right through you, expecting an answer. Sighing, you threw yourself  down onto your bed, shoving your face into your hands, rubbing them down it before resting your chin on your palms.
"I just...got tired of seeing Tony insult you like that. I've watched your expression long enough to know that his words hurt you, and I thought I could get through to him. I didn't mean to overstep my boundaries." You paused as he sat down beside you, scooting over so your knees were touching.
"Loki, I care about you. Hell, I'd do anything to prevent any pain that comes to you. I lo-I like you too much. I'm sorry." You looked up at his face that held no expression, hoping he didn't catch your slip. When he didn't respond for a couple minutes, you diverted your eyes to the ground. You examined a piece of paper you must've dropped. Sighing, you dropped your hands and went to to grab the paper off the ground. An icy hand reached up and grabbed your wrist, causing you to quickly look back to Loki. Meeting his eyes, a ghost of a smile played on his lips as mischief filled his eyes. Narrowing your eyes, you went to pull away as he pulled you towards him, adjusting so he was laying backwards. He pulled you on top of him, smiling up at you.
"I.. appreciate that you love me enough to stand up for me. It's really touching." You felt your cheeks heat up again at his words, frowning at the fact he caught your slip. He noticed the frown and moved a piece of hair behind your ear. You looked him directly in the eye, breath hitching as the gesture got very intimate for you.
"And I would do the same for you. Not because I'm your teammate, but because I can't lose you. For Norns sake, not you. I've lost so many people I care for. I love and care you too much. I can't even put what I feel for you into words, Angel." Loki sighed, closing his eyes as he tried to put together more words for you. He opened his eyes just to watch you, but you quickly brought his lips to yours, hoping the emotions you felt towards him transferred via the kiss. They must've as you felt him smile widely into the kiss, moving his hands to the back of your neck to pull you closer. After several minutes, you had to pull back for air, watching Loki's eyes flutter open. He smiled at you, running his hands through your hair.
"So, I guess the feelings mutual, huh?" You joked, grinning at Loki. Growling, he rolled you over and pinned you, leaning in to capture you into another kiss.
"I guess that also means you're mine" Loki stated as he pulled away from the kiss, voice laced with lust and possession. You laughed at the sudden possessiveness. Loki growled and quickly fucked his head against your throat, nipping your neck gently with his teeth. Breathing in sharply, you entangled your hands in his dark, silky hair.
"I guess so~"

Expiration Dates (Loki x Sick!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After a bad cold sweeps through the Avengers compound, and avoids the mighty gods living amongst them, it finally reaches the reader. The reader let's the local doctor know what's happened so he can take care of her – at least she thinks it's him.
Word Count: 2941 Words
Author's Note: Now, I know we've had COVID-19 sweeping the nation, but in this story, let's pretend that virus never happened. All characters (besides Pietro Maximoff and Stan Lee respectfully) are alive and well in the year of 2021 – more or less.
There's a slight mention of death and a sprinkling of swear words, but other than that, the story is good to go.
Enjoy!!
Expiration dates.
It was a concept that always intrigued you.
The fact that there were things that existed just to go to waste if not used in a timely manner. Of course, it had to vary from each item. Including people. In another life, you were positive that people had a set date that they were to die – or 'expire'. That is – if they didn't pull a Final Destination and cheat death until it caught up to them again. Although, you weren't too worried about your future demise. You were more focused on the expiration dates of your food. If your milk was past the best by date for more than a day, you couldn't bare the task to drink it. Instead, you'd simply steer yourself to a different type of food. A granola bar, a bowl of fruit, something fresh that didn't expire a day or more before that moment.
The Avengers thought it was strange that you were like that, but said nothing as to not offend you or make you wary about eating things amongst them. You were grateful for that. Especially since you normally did the shopping and noticed when something was close to running out or expiring past your liking. Luckily, your habits rubbed off onto your teammates two years into living there. It was so astonishing to watch Tony walk towards the fridge, go to grab the milk, and hesitate as he read the tiny, printed date.
"Damn it" he muttered as he walked over and poured the rest of the milk (which was like 8 ounces) down the drain. Hearing the muttered curse, your eyes peered over your mug as curiosity got the best of you. Feeling your eyes on him, he smiled sheepishly at you.
"It's past the expiration, sorry I didn't catch it beforehand. I'll head out right now to get some more." Tony explained before tossing the jug into the recyclables and walking out of the room.
Over the next two days, Bruce had brought you medicine, soups with crackers, kleenexes, and waters. The waters were mainly stocked in the mini fridge next to your bed. He'd noticed that your appetite had diminished significantly as the illness progressed more. By day three, you weren't even bothering with the soups he had brought. You simply sipped water and nibbled on crackers throughout the day so you'd at least have something in your system. You were able to keep it down for the most part. Considering you had never had to throw up during common colds you got, you weren't completely surprised. You were able to keep everything down as you closed your eyes, listening to the low hum of the air conditioner. Around twelve in the afternoon on the third day, Bruce had came in to check on you – or at least you thought it was Bruce. You'd fallen asleep with your water bottle next to you in bed. Gently, he picked the water bottle up and placed it in your mini fridge so it was cold when you awoken. Cold hands brushed against you as they cover you up with the blanket that had fallen to the floor.
From that point on, you didn't stress yourself too hard about keeping up on the groceries. That became extremely apparent to you when you caught a bug that swept through the compound. Everyone else – besides the Gods that resided with you all – had gotten it and it hadn't affected them as much. However, once it reached you, it was like you had been hit by a train going 574 kilometers per hour. Dizziness, sinus headaches, grogginess – all of your normal symptoms hit you the night you had come back from a mission. You'd sent a text to Bruce to let him know of the sickly situation. He'd quickly responded with a 'Thanks for letting me know. I'll help out the best I can.' Nodding at the response, you tried to doze off. Eventually you did, and when you woke up, your head felt so heavy that you had to move it gently with your hands. How pathetic. You thought. You work with the strongest and bravest beings on Earth, and you can't even muster up the strength to move your head when you're sick. Of course, your sudden sickness fogged over your self-loathing thoughts. You were glad that happened, but the illness made your entire body miserable.
"I hope you feel better to visit soon." A deep, sultry voice had whispered to you as the person you assumed was Bruce pressed their lips against your extremely hot forehead. You felt a small smile spread across your face before darkness consumed you once more.
⏱ ⏱ ⏱
Several hours later, your body had jolted you from your deep sleep as your hands got more clammy by the secon. Gasping for air, you opened your eyes panicked. You instantly sat up fast as possible, trying to get a hold of your breathing, but the suddenly change in position caused your vision to haze and make you drop back into a laying position. Your head pounded painfully, almost drawing tears from your eyes as you tried to make the pain pass. It just seemed to get worse with each ragged breath you took, so you tried taking deep breaths, holding it, and exhaling slowly. Feeling the pain slowly subside, you opened your eyes – hoping you had regained visual clarity. As your dark room – only lit by the light of the moon – came into focus, you turned your head towards the digital clock staring at you from the top of your mini fridge. The dim, green light glared at you as you read the time out loud.
"Hey, I understand if the idea of eating the soup nauseates you, but you need to try to eat something to help you get better." Loki's soft, comforting voice brought you back to ground zero, forgetting to focus on your breathing. Slowly looking up and meeting his gaze, you watched him give a gentle smile, encouraging you to speak. His eyes were filled with concern, encouragement, care and..love? Brushing it off, you swallowed the hard lump developing and slipped off of the stool, walking over to the empty can of soup. You felt his eyes watching you grab the lid, run it under water, and dry it before walking over to him and sitting it down in front of him. Loki picked up the lid and observed it for a couple seconds. What exactly does she want me to see? He thought as he looked over the circular piece of tin. Right when he was about to ask, his eyes saw a small sentence. Best by January 2018. This caused him to chuckle before looking over at you as you nervously stood next to him.
"It's 2:30 in the morning?" Your voice was about three octaves below a whisper, and it cracked near the end. The voice crack tickled your throat just right – and sent you into a silent coughing attack. Gods, help me. You pleaded mentally as you tried to contain the sudden outburst. You reached out towards your mini fridge and grabbed your water bottle. Please let this work. You took deep breaths between each gulp of cool water. As the coughing calmed down, you felt your eyebrows furrow. Did you wake up and put your water in the fridge and not remember doing so? Or did someone come in and out it in there?
A low grumble pulled you out of your train of thought. Groaning, you realize you needed to try to eat something besides the diet of crackers and water. You threw your legs over the edge of your bed and carefully stood up so you didn't lose balance. As you didn't fall over, you carefully opened your door and tiptoed down to the compounds kitchen. Flipping the light on, you walked towards the pantry.
"I'm thinking..," you thought aloud, skimming the selection of canned and boxed perishables. "..chicken noodle soup." Reaching down and picking up the can, you turned it over to read the expiration date.
"Best by.. January 2018." Your voice trailed off, eyes narrowing at the can as you tried to wrack your brain on how long it would take for it to expire. As you look over the can, you observed that it was in perfect condition and was not leaking at all. If it was in perfect condition, it could last up to four years after the expiration date. Being that it was March of 2021, it was a little after the limit. Blinking slowly, you contemplated how bad you really wanted soup since the other can read 2017.
"If I die, I die. It has to be better than this damn illness" you spouted warily as you opened the can. After pouring the liquid mixture with noodles into the bowl and waiting four minutes, the bowl of soup laid before you. You had added salt just in case it had lost it's flavor throughout the expiration process. Hopping onto a stool next to the kitchen counter and taking a sip of water, you stirred the the soup. You'd stirred the noodles around for a while, hoping that it would cool down enough for you to take your time. In the middle of stirring, a voice had spoken to you.
"You know, I think you're supposed to eat that." The voice declared, clearly amused and confused at the same time. The sudden sound caused you to pause. Slowly blinking, your fogged mind cleared. Is the voice real? Or is it a fever hallucination? Waiting a couple more seconds, you decided not to respond and continue stirring the noodles around the bowl.
"I mean it, you're supposed to eat that." The voice became more stern, but it was now laced with concern. It took you a couple moments, but you registered whose voice it belonged to.
"Hello, Loki" you greeted, trying to put some life into your voice, but it just made you sound worse. Watching him stride to the opposite side of the countertop and take a seat, you continued stirring your soup. As he looked upon your appearance, he realized your condition was way worse than the others. Your eyes and cheeks were a bit sunken in, your skin was as pale as fresh snow, your lips chapped. As you watched him take in your sickly appearance, you glanced back down at the bowl of soup. The long, rubber looking noodles swam around in the bowl amongst the poor excuses of chicken. The appearance and smell of the small meal you had prepared brought on a sudden wave of food aversion, causing you to push the bowl slightly to the side as it created a sudden urge to throw up the nothingness of your stomach contents. As your stomach churned, you squeezed your eyes shut in hopes to make the pain disappear. If you didn't acknowledge it, maybe it would stop. Newsflash: indeed, it did not stop and instead, got significantly worse. Opening your eyes back up, you met Loki's bewitching gaze. It just..drew you in, but you had to look away to keep your composure. Oh, c'mon. He would never be interested in a silly mortal like yourself. You scrutinized yourself as you thought up a quick plan. In order to avert Loki's eyes, you hurriedly put your arms up on the island and shoved your face into your hands. He must think I'm so weak. Self-loathing thoughts swarmed and fogged your brain as you felt his gaze on you. Please let him leave. You hoped silently, feeling the food aversion grow stronger. Shifting uncomfortably, you felt his cold hands slowly lower your hands from your face. Diverting your eyes to his hands holding onto your own, you tried to focus on steadying the sickness. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breath ou-
"You were desperate enough to make the soup, but apparently your mind decided last minute that it's not worth it?" The Norse God question as he stood up, grabbed the bowl of chicken noodle soup, and washed the expired soup down the drain. Putting on a weak smile, you responded.
"I figured if it killed me, it had to be better than this bug." Your voice tried to stay solid, but it wavered enough for him to cast a look towards you before he grabbed some crackers for you.
"Darling, if you don't want to eat something because it's past the expiration date, than you don't have to. I believe it has to be pretty severe for it to kill you." Loki's voice was soft as he grabbed a bowl big enough to hold the whole thing of crackers. Whether you ate them all or not, it was better than trying to push a cracker out of the package to consume.
"And besides, I quite enjoy having you alive, even if you don't feel alive." Loki mused as he gently shoved the bowl of crackers into your hands. Placing his hands onto your sides lightly, he pressed a cool kiss to your forehead and pulled back to watch your reaction. The earlier hours came flooding back to you as you realized who had taken care of you today. Furrowing your eyebrows, your gaze rose from the god's chest to his eyes.
"Oh, he was there the first time, but I ran into him as he was walking out of your room and I got curious. He explained everything and I asked if I could appear as him to assist in your healing process." Loki explained, watching your expression. As you looked at him with awe, you couldn't help but swear upon the doctor you recruited. Damn you, Banner. I'll get you back somehow. As if he could read your mind, he chuckled before grabbing a cracker and lifting it towards your mouth. Reluctantly, you took it and ate it completely as Loki gave you a satisfied – and victorious – smile.
"It was you, wasn't it?" He nodded at the question, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. Loki raised his hand up to your face, frowning as he watched you flinch away at the sudden coolness. He left his hand there, watching as you slowly leaned back towards his hand, adjusting to his temperature.
"Did you disguise yourself as Bruce the first two days, or was that actually him?" You questioned even though you already knew the answer. His eyes crinkled up at the corners as he smiled at you, his guared completely down.
"Love, despite the way I act towards the others, I truly do care about you more than most." Loki whispered lovingly to you, gently caressing your face as it continued to burn up. Reaching over and grabbing your water, he adjusted it in your arms before leaning down and lifting you up, carrying you bridal style back up to your room. On the way up, you leaned your head against Loki's shoulders, still processing what he had admitted to before taking you back to your room. Closing the door slowly, careful not to let it creak, he smiled down at you before crossing the room to your bed. He sat you down in your bed, watching as you placed the crackers and water bottle on top of the fridge. He gave you a warm smile before he turned to leave. Your arm reached out and grabbed his wrist, the sudden movement causing him to turn to look at you sharply. Muttering a small 'sorry,' you looked down, and looked back into his emerald green eyes.
"I love you. I truly do." You leaned up and pressed a small kiss to his cheek, brushing your nose around his lovingly before you nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck. As he sat there in silence, astounded by the sudden confession, he worried his suddenly fast beating heart would disturb you. He pressed you closer against him as he sighed happily.
"Will you..stay with me?" You questioned him, gazing at him with hopeful eyes. A ghost of a smile played on your lips as you watched him. His stoic expression left him unreadable, leaving the smile to slowly fade away as you quickly diverted your eyes.
"It's fine if you don't want to, I would rather not try to get you sick" Your voice drifted to lower octaves as you dropped your hand from his wrist. He'll never want to see you again. You came to this conclusion, wistfully as you focused on a loose string from your blanket. His sudden movements towards the other side of your bed and slipped under the covers with you. Suddenly holding a warm smile, he opened his arms up, encouraging you place yourself against him in his arms. As he watched your eyes light up, you slowly moved over against his chest, carefully slipping your arms around his waist, giving him time to make up his mind if he wanted. He didn't. Loki waited until you adjusted yourself comfortably before wrapped his arms around you. The embrace was snug, but it was enough for it to comfort the pain that wracked every nerve in your body. You felt his head lay gently on top of yours as his welcoming arms lulled you back to sleep slowly.
"Loki?" You sleepily muttered, unsure if he would respond. He hummed in response, waiting for you to answer.
"I love you too, Y/N." He muttered lovingly before pressing a tender kiss to the top of your head, careful not to disturb you.
He didn't think you getting sick would make either of you confess your feelings for each other, but by the grace of the Norns, he's glad that it did.
