Harvest- Who are the people in your family/how do you define your family? 

My family is my grandmother, mother, and husband. Yuuri’s family has graciously welcomed the three of us into their lives and I worry about the plans our mothers are cooking up for family gatherings to have us all together. Mama squared is a terrifyingly exciting affair.

Extended family includes my closest friends, including Yakov and the Russian skate team. ♡

At least the time difference is on my side; I can watch Viktor’s short after my own skate! Today is the day. Short program day. I have to say that I’ve felt more confident before. My body is fine, in top form, barely any soreness anywhere but my mind -

It feels like it’s being torn apart. The Olympics… I’m obsessing, I know I am but right now I feel like that’s the one thing keeping me sane enough to be able to at least try and do my best.

We’re on our way, Yuuri! See you soon. 

Back in Tokyo, not for a holiday this time, but for Nationals. My family will be here once the competition actually starts, but for now, I’m on my own. It’s weird. Haven’t been on my own like this for the past year. And last Nationals… They felt different. So much more is at stake now.

Time for some practice at the rink and a long nap afterwards.

You know what would warm my heart?

A clip of Yurio hanging out at the onsen during that time that he’d first arrived there in an attempt to smack the shit out of Viktor in every direction possible, and Yuuri’s mom tries to mother him a little.

She asks him how his day is, if he’s in school at all, if he’s hungry, asks about his hobbies…. And she spent a significant amount of time with him, showed him that kimono with the tigers on it that she made him, and makes a good relationship with him.

And that poor boy has whiplash from sudden motherhood in his life.
