I had a dream about bakeoff except they were all cooking increasingly weird stuff until they got to the last guy and Paul asked ‘what are you serving’ and his response was just ‘these hands’ and then he knocked Paul Hollywood out on national television
listen actually im stoked. i think if the s5 finale taught us anything it’s that we are past bsd being “good” but we are NOT past it being funny. we are on chucky levels of absurdity. keep it going kafka asagiri come back for us in april to tell us about how fyodor was alive when dinosaurs roamed the earth
best thing about uncle iroh is that if you pay attention he is actually just as much of an idiot as zuko but has just mastered the art of coming across as a wise old man. the even better thing is that zuko is the only one on the planet who somewhat realizes this and no one would ever believe him because he's zuko

2 May 1998
It was a beautiful day.
A bright blue sky peeked through the gaping holes in Hogwarts’ roof and puffy white clouds floated lazily across the scape. Hermione walked through the arch that once held the grand mahogany doors of Hogwarts. From a distance, she could see the winding branches of the Whomping Willow reaching out towards the sun and feel the heat baking the ashes under her feet. Hermione stared out across the courtyard blankly, the collapsed beams and scattered slabs of stone from the destroyed walls littered the ground.
A place that used to be her home felt so hollow now.
Hermione couldn’t remember ever seeing Hogwarts so empty in all her years there.
something something these two boys who helped end a war together becoming friends and eventually world leaders together and feeling invincible because of all they’ve been able to do and helping and inspiring one another to do more and grow more and falling in love with one another and being terrified of what it means but also it’s the most natural thing in the world and so they assume that they can handle it just like they’ve been able to hand everything else and in the same way (which is: together) but they eventually realize it’s not that simple and they each are doing so much and there is so much pressure and opposition and it just becomes harder to find time to see each other and the breakup is inevitable and they see it coming from a mile away but it still hurts when it happens and they still write letters and see each other because they’ll always be friends but it hurts so their relationship starts to slip through the cracks and they become strangers again and sokka hears aang talk about how grown izumi is and it hurts because they should be starting their family together but now zuko has a daughter and sokka doesn’t know if he’ll ever have kids and so he keeps busy with inventing and designing and constructing for his tribe and leading his people and helping people in other nations too with his inventions and zuko hears about the latest new things and smiles because he knows sokka is behind them and he’s so proud of him but he also misses sokka explaining all his ideas to him and they both go on like this for years and years and then suddenly zuko is seriously considering abdicating and his daughter is perfectly prepared to take up the crown and he’s not sure where that leaves him because he still loves the fire nation and wants to be with his daughter while she adjusts to being the fire lord but after that he feels like he won’t have anything tying him down as much and he keeps daydreaming about what he’ll do next and in these fantasies he’s always accompanied by a certain freckled face and knowing smile that makes his chest ache with longing and he pushes those thoughts aside but the time comes when he’s run out of excuses to stay in the fire nation and instead of writing or anything he just travels directly to the southern water tribe and almost turns around four times but he goes for it and tells himself he’ll just say he’s there visiting his friends for a few days but then he sees sokka and the lie dies in his throat because he’s here for him and he wants to stay here with him if sokka will have him and they get back together and they feel like kids again, invincible and young and carefree and so so in love and happy to be together and they can just retire together and live in peace and they think they have so much of their lives ahead of them but they were apart for over twenty years and it’s less than that until the red lotus tries to kidnap korra and zuko loses sokka permanently and he is left wishing he could go back and give them more time
