So I kinda hate this blog now and I made a new one over @frantheorange (where I mostly post abt riordanverse, aot/snk and atla, as well as art related to those interests).

People will be understandably concerned about climate change but the minute someone complains about the impact climate change is having on their life they're mocked and told "you think that's hot?"

Multiple countries in Europe are experiencing wildfires right now and multiple firefighters have died, it's hotter in London than it is in the Sahara, rivers are drying up and crops are failing.

Why does this always turn into a massive dick-measuring contest about who can handle the heat better? Every country has an infrastructure based on its usual climate. People live in houses designed for their usual weather, People in usually temperate climates don't have air conditioning and if everyone suddenly installed it, it'd put unbelievable pressure on the power grid. And with the rising cost of energy and inflation, do you think most people can afford it anyway? That's even if it was suddenly widely available (which it isn't in many places)

The weather is killing crops and drying up water sources. If you think the rising cost of food due to energy costs is bad, just wait until the crop yields are substantially lower this year.

So be thoughtful. Climate change will impact us all.

Ace/aro-spec characters in pjo/hoo: (or at least, the ones I feel are ace/aro-spec)

Annabeth Chase — annabeth is either asexual or demisexual. her relationships and feelings for others throughout the riordanverse series make me believe that she is most likely demisexual, but i do like the idea of her being asexual.

Reyna Ramírez-Arellano — reyna is canonically asexual, good for her.

Thalia Grace — thalia is also asexual. methinks that she is also demiromantic or better yet, greyromantic.

Bianca di Angelo — i think bianca is greyromantic and greysexual. or she could be aroace.

Nico di Angelo — nico is demiromantic methinks.

Rachel Elizabeth Dare — i personally headcanon rachel as aroace flux. now here me out– i think she might have convinced herself that she had a romantic crush on percy (since many aces/aros have done this before they realized their sexuality). after the events of tlo, she realized that she was on the aroace spectrum and her feelings for percy were queerplatonic.

Jason Grace — not completely sure about jason, but he is definitely on the asexual spectrum.

Leo Valdez — leo is definitely aroace or at least aroace flux. this is basically canon (we will ignore the unnecessary love plot with calypso).

Frank Zhang — not completely sure, but i think he may be asexual.

Zoë Nightshade — aroace. I accept no arguments.

I have this very intense and specific headcanon that Leo talks really slowly instead of super fast, like he’s portrayed and generally thought to speak like. I think he doesn’t have a lot of experience talking to people, and his mind runs like x10 faster than his mouth so he speaks with so many pauses and a lot of ‘um’s and ‘like’s. It’s equally as incomprehensible, but also leaves the comedic room for people to not only wonder if he’s insane from the content of his words but also if he’s just extremely high. Like, he takes five minute pauses in between thoughts and scares the shit out of Percy, who just wanted to know how the pipes worked in case he wanted to water bend during an on deck fight.

He also forgets half the things he’s saying and remembers hours later and starts the conversation again, completely unprompted to the point that if he doesn’t get to it in the moment, the seven individually just sorta hang around him after an extended period of time to see if he’s going to finish what he was saying from the reminder that is seeing their face. The ADHD in him really shines in mid-fight conversation, especially when he’s seeing some of them for the first time that day during an attack.

Leo, randomly during an attack: HEY HAZEL!

Hazel, fending off a monster, worried he needs cover: WHAT?!??

Leo: MY FAVORITE CAKE FLAVOR IS FUNFETTI!!

Hazel, not knowing what the fuck that is: WHAT????

Anyways, I think the seven should’ve had more friendship qualities after living and fighting together, and I think they’d all form some sort of internal translator to understand the bullshit that comes out of Leo’s mouth. Thank you for coming to my Teddy Talky.

Discuss Random pjo/hoo ships:

Chaldez (Annabeth Chase x Leo Valdez)

Type: not canon/crackship/rarepair

Dynamic: in canon — uhhh okay so… I have not read hoo in a while so bear with me here.

Annabeth and Leo don't interact much in the first book they meet, which is The Lost Hero, and they don't really interact all that much throughout the series. The most they interact is in a few scenes of moa.

However, there are little background things that give us an indication of how they might have interacted and how they view each other.

First off, Annabeth and Leo are the smartest members of the seven. They also understand each other's crafts to some extent. For example, Leo says that Annabeth is only person on the ship who knows enough to help him with the repairs. We also know that Annabeth has some mechanical knowledge by the fact that, in The Demigod Files, Annabeth is able to reattach Festus' head. Annabeth and Leo are also the only ones on the ship who know Morse code (so when they complain about their friends or nerd out, do they just communicate with Morse code??).

Secondly, they both have a lot of respect for the other. Leo, like the rest of the crew, sees Annabeth as a leader. He trusts her judgement. Annabeth on her side also trusts that Leo knows what he's doing, no matter how strange. Annabeth also trusts Leo's character, to the point where she's the first to defend him from Percy after the attack on New Rome. Leo and Annabeth know each other enough to have a deep sort of respect for each other.

Opinions: I like their possible friendship and I wish they could have interacted more. We see that one of the reasons Leo can't fully connect with the others is because of his intellect and knowledge on mechanics. The others don't understand his interests at all and some even judge him for it, to an extent (a few of the crew wondering or even mentioning to leo that he seemed more attached his machines/ship then to people/his friends). It would be understandable for him to enjoy the company of someone who is not only on his intellectual level, but also someone who understands his interests. Not only that, but Annabeth can understand and relate to being considered strange or annoying for talking about her hyperfixations so much. And did I mention the Morse code conversations?

Anyway, don't really see them working romantically, but they definitely work platonically.
