Stardust (Novel) by Neil Gaiman, review
Tumblr media
Poster credit: https://images.app.goo.gl/rPV9NYqKfz8ZS6eq5
Recommended for: DREAMERS
Somewhere I read that reading stories before going to bed at night is always a good habit, maybe for nice sleep or to have a good dream. And here fantasy genre fits perfectly at sleepy time.
Somebody said that Fantasy and Adventure genes are match made in heaven, and here Neil Gaiman's Stardust comes true[[MORE]] when Tristran crosses wall for promise he made to Victoria. World-building, character arc and morals everything amazing.
[SPOILER ALERT]
The feeling of the climax was most important, actually I forgot that Dunstan had a lovely night with cat-like ear women and her conditions when she will be freed from that silver chain and why Daisy was watching little differently when Tristran decided to go beyond the wall. I thought that this story too is getting boring as reaching towards the end but when read the climax it was like seriously something terrible had happened here or I was reading in sleepy-mode. I was when that cat-eared faerie woman introduces herself to the evil witch that she is the only daughter of the lord of Stormland and as the only conditions which will free her from evil witch were about to happen, it was like that evil witch had doomed herself by kidnapping the unknown child of Lord a long years back. It was awesome.
Overall fairy story is about love. It shows that nothing is more important than love of forgiveness, as when Tristran tell Victoria to marry Robert as they both love each other and also when Lady Una says Tristan to take the throne of Stormland.
Finally, I had read a beautiful ending of fantasy before I went to my terrible dreams.

Never Give Up
Tumblr media
This illustration is inspired from a reel shared by W. Hussain, a brand strategist. I use[[MORE]] my smartphone to do all my artwork (from sketching to video editing) that's the reason my timelapse videos are little awkward and different than other artists, as I have to deal with small screen😐. Here I was testing comic-art style illustration using ink brush, which I never used before😅.
Also in this artwork I improved lineart by watching Marc Brunet video and for this style I took inspiration from comic artist Trent Kaniuga.

3 years on Tumblr
Tumblr media
I remember my first day of using Tumblr, it was like reading whatever I see on feed, just read it, so that I can build reading habit but at that I didn't much people to read their blog. Main reason at that time was to read [[MORE]]the blogs of celebrities, unfortunately none of them writes (maybe). Then I accidently found post of a man who is Shenshah of Bollywood also know as Big B (@srbachchan), I never expected that somebody from film industry writes blog. I was finding a reason to read something, that time I was not a regular book reader as compared to now (reading as many stories as possible).
Then I started posting my artworks on Tumblr, still I was not aware of what communities are and how they form, like art community which only shares and talk about art stuffs only. By finding artists similar to my interest fields and who also uses Tumblr (sometimes) to post, and then I found artists like @loish , @zandraart , @reb-chan , @moonmistix and @angelwhite24 .
Then slowly 'following' list of people on my Tumblr started increasing as I found new artist using it but still 'followers' were not increasing, it was only 4-5 (sometimes 7, from somewhere 'bot' visits, follows and then unfollows me, for what purpose I don't know). From last months I started practicing drawing on sketchbook, to feel the satisfaction of scribbling pencil on paper and also to improve some concepts little faster, which helped me to post something on Tumblr as behind the scenes. By posting contents like these behind the scenes, film reviews, and sharing some using articles which maybe useful, I started getting some followers (right now it's 24). That's not my main intension of using Tumblr, now I use Tumblr to write something, anything which I feel I should write because now I like writing, not always.
This is how i write, first scratching pencil on paper then tap-tap typing on notepad (here I do some editing) and then copy paste on Tumblr. You may think I was time doing all this, yes because ideas grows in brain only when I drive pencil on rough-paper. Usually it takes 1½ hours from writing to promoting on other social media sites.

My process of writing(from left to right)👆🏻
Just few weeks ago I decided to write my first novel, for that I started adapting writing skill by writing content or anything which you reading right now, also I wrote 9 short-stories (actually I call them Centi-Stories as they are only of few 600-700 words) in last 2 weeks as a practice. I wish will complete it anytime soon, maybe.
3 years of experience in Tumblr is amazing and I hope I will keep my Tumblr blogs/posts up-to-date.

Centi-Stories - 9
Prompt
As I watched from across the street, the tattered man bent down and picked up someone’s discarded paper coffee cup. He pulled something (a cigarette butt?) out of the liquid, and threw it onto the sidewalk. Then he took a sip.
Here is today's general-basic story👇🏻
I was cycling through my daily route. I wait for some rest and to drink water. As I watched [[MORE]]from across the street a tattered man bent down and picked up someone's discarded paper coffee cup. He pulled something from that cup, a paper roll. He threw that cup on sidewalk. He was looking more like beggar, obviously he was as people know him from a year. But do beggar really know how to read, maybe yes who knows. He walked straight towards bhaji(vegetable) market, where sellers/farmers come from villages every Tuesday. Right now it was crowded with sellers and costumers. It was difficult to follow him but why he came here at this market, maybe he was hungry. So I parked my cycle at gate of my friend's house. It was 7am of Feb 2017, morning was always cold as regular days but for me it was normal because I cycled 2 hours and definitely my body is warm.
I simply followed that man, in this crowded area people was walking so closely to each other that is difficult to guess where to put next foot. Thanks to God that COVID-19 not existed at that time, atleast not here. At I followed him for 15 min, he crossed full market crowd and now we both are on other side of market which is less crowded. He waited for something. He look around with rat's eye like he is in search of something that's really very important for him. I immediately turned back and did little acting of asking someone's address to old man which was next to me. When I turned back again, he was not there. I looked on left, there was no street and then on right I walked straight. And there I saw him on narror street between two buildings standing close to back side of polished black Jaguar car. Then somebody gave a bundle of Rs 2000 notes and that beggar joined hands like saying thank you to somebody inside. Then car moved straight and took left turn. I want to ask that man but let it be, maybe someone is helping him. I let go all my worries and came back for my cycle. And again I started thinking about eSports event which is at 7pm evening.
Prompt for this Centi-Story was taken from here daily writing prompt - 1524.
Yup today's story was boring, really no taste. Actually prompt for today's story was hard, I was unable to think something new, something interesting. As I can't come up every day with new concept, for that I now started keeping gap of 1 day so that atleast in free time I can think about something interesting. Let it be 🙄 let's complete other remaining tasks. Literally I'm loaded with so many personal tasks reading this, reading that and complete that assignment. Just overloaded. But atleast taking time to think and write about something everyday is okay, specially in lockdown. So that we lazy zombies would keep our mind working 🤭🤣🤣

Centi-Stories - 8
Prompt
You’re running out of time! Create a highly compressed situation with an impending deadline. It can be serious and dramatic, or light-hearted and funny. Then write a scene between a character who needs to meet the deadline and one who needs to prevent that character from meeting it.
Here is today's story 👇🏻, you can feel the tension 😅
Assignments are like atom bomb carriers above Hiroshima and Nagasaki, if we fail to complete[[MORE]] assignments then the effect of bombs will be like spreading highly reactive radiation deep in our nerves that depression will be the smallest thing for us and after that words from parents will be like machine guns shooting bullets like snipers in our brain, obviously isn't it. Every year 95% of times we students somehow manage to stay in a grey area between clear and danger zone.
Here, it's been lockdown from last year and we became master at doing proxy things from attendance to homework, even class tests also. We were expecting to get an assignment because of how a devil monster of bad luck could be so silent for months. We didn't get any assignments after promoting to the 6th semester. And here we got the assignment of 18 questions to be completed with the week. 18 questions and 7 days, looks so easy to complete, right! But it's not how can somebody be able to write answers of he/she hadn't attended single class properly. We were always busy watching series and movies by turning off mic & camera, moving class meetings in the background, thanks for multi-tasking smartphones.
Okay! Now I will complete this assignment before anyone else, that is my energy for 1st day of the first five hours. After that who knows where that guy is who promised to complete assignments before anyone else, it's gone, vanished. Somehow I lift the pen from the desk which was one of the heaviest objects since lockdown. It took must of first 1 hour to mentally prepare to lift a pen and some time to physically write something.
After that, I opened a pdf of 18 questions then googled the first question. Oh, yaas! I got the answer to 1st question let's do it. I wrote that answer. Happiness of completing 1st answer was so high that my brain started predicting that possibility of anything from those hell bomb carriers is very less, close to null, zero. Then I move to 2nd question, but this time there was no first answer on Google. So googled for other questions, still didn't found any direct answer.
Anyhow I managed to write 1st line of the answer to 2nd question and then a notification popped up showing 'The Expanse S01E05 downloaded'. I'm so addicted to sci-fi series after watching every episode I feel a strong desire to watch next and like this, I don't know how 9 days just passed, days passed like I time traveled or fast forwarded my life to 9 days. Now it's the last day and I only able to write 4 answers. Every member of our group is waiting for a person from heaven to come and give all answers, everyone is dependent on others for answers like a loop.
Unfortunately, the teacher had divided the question bank of 54 questions into 3 equal parts. The teacher had played the game very well by dividing the strength of whole class into 3 parts so that less copy will happen. I was in the first group as my roll number is 22. Now, who had competed for answers please send it. But nobody did, every second was like questions firing bullets in our mind, and fear of doom's day was painful like we were able to how the situation will be in post doom's day. To ignore all this pain we shamelessly turned our focus on watching series to understand what's going in the story and predicting the theory of next episode, just pass time anyhow, who cares.
At the last hour of the deadline, somebody sends all the answers to our group. It was like one-man army against 18 questions, helping us to get up fight back. And yaaaas! We won, we submitted all the answers on time. This is called the victory of lazy zombies of lockdown.
I took prompt for this from Tumblr account @daily-prompts , here is link to to prompt 1523.
Hope you like the funny story of college teens of completing assignments. I learnt how to add obstacles for character in story from Fiction University's blog, here in this short story I and my friends are the character, teacher is the obstacle and completing assignment is the event. Tried to create environment more relatable with situation for feeling 😁. And inspiration for this story has taken from me and my friends current situation where we unable to find answers and how we spend our most of the time.

Centi-Stories - 7
Today's prompt
Imagine you are witnessing a hostage situation. Convince the attacker why he shouldn't do anything stupid.
And here is my today's Centi-Story hope you will like this😁🤞🏻
In the afternoon of Ireland, outside Bitcoin mining station somebody was in hurry[[MORE]], a grinding of car skidding came then same for 4 times like 5 cars approached in hurry. And next unexpected sound came like 5 shots of gun. All workers were starring at entrance door. With small beep sound door blasts and flies meter straight. All workers hide into near place. Then 14 terrorists enters like entering in jewellery shop, 2 at entrance and others searching people.
Mining station is as big as auto manufacturing companies, whole station is having only 1 floor, spreaded wide enough to hold 100 rows of 50 meter high stacks of graphic card server. Buzzing noise of this station is loud like working at auto manufacturing company still it didn't have any mechanical work to make noise. Noise is coming from graphic cards which working at optimal level and to cool down this stacks fans straight above them runs fast enought to cool the temperature of station by pumping out hot air.
"Don't hide, just come out in front of us and knee down", one terrorist yelled.
"I'm counting, within 1 minute everyone has to come out or I will go by my way and that will be really bad", another said.
Nobody came out. 15th terrorist came from entrance with fully charged advanced guns 'SPIN95'. Name of terrorists were in numbers. T5 took SPIN95 and shoots on 1st row of stack 5 times.
"Don't do this stupidity again", Shravan, head of this mining station came out hands in air.
"Knee down! knee down!", T4 shouted and put gun on Shravan's head pushing him down hardly.
"But I'm in mood to empty my sweeties on this stacks", T15 said.
"Don't do this stupidity again", Shravan said as slowly all other workers coming out covered by remaining terrorists.
"Why?"
"Because this is the only one mining station in world which works at optimum level as weather condition is cool which helps to increase stacks working capacity.
"I'm not here to listen lecture of boring things", T15 said taking chair from side to sit.
"We just want Harddrive of 500 Bitcoins and we will leave you without any harm", T4 said.
"Okay, ok I have that in my 4 suitcases in my office room", Shravan said.
T6 & T5 brought that suitcases from his office room and kept it on table in front of T15. T14 ordered to release Shravan to open suitcases. Shravan took a device from his pocket. That device ID having display with fork shape antenna on upper side to check real amount stored in harddrive inside suitcase. T14 snatched that device from Shravan's hand and inserted in every suitcase. It showed Evan exact amout as said by Shravan. T14 closes all suitcases and give it to T15. T15 with T14 and all terrorists walk towards entrance but T8 was busy in his laptop, tensed and pressing keys of laptop hard.
"Did you planned to stay here tonight", T4 asks.
"Nope, just wait for a min.... I'm coming", T8 said with eyes focused on screen.
"What are you doing"
"Done!" T8 closes laptop and walk in hurry towards entrance. "Let's go".
After all terrorists gone Shravan ruins to his office room and checks transfer history of coins on computer. The device was actually use to transfer coins, by inserting in harddrive or suitcase that device sets receivers unique wallet address. But unfortunately whole system was hacked by somebody and stole all that coins again by using stations network.
"Who says that terrorists can't be expert in tech stuffs", T8 says to himself while driving car out from mining station area.
Prompt for today's story was taken from here - writer's write blog (17th March 2021). Yea I know it's late but I'm not able to write story everyday, there's so much work to do. I first try to get prompt from writerswrite(from mail) or daily writing prompt (from Tumblr) or maybe sometimes I just google it 'promot generator', then reading novel "Red Mars" by Robinson Kim Stanley then reading mails, recently I started following blog/newsletters of writers and authors to just improve writing skill. I want to improve that because I want to write novel, graphic novel then creating animated shows or movies, just a baby step to reach dream. That's why at the end of every story I try to write something randomly like telling somebody what I'm thinking n doing. So hope you like this story, futuristic robbery of future currency 🤞🏻😂. There's no logic in this it's just a random short scene from my dreamy machine set inside my brain.
