for everyone reblogging my collar bones post also sad that they don’t have collar bones, please remember: it’s genetics and how we hold our weight. this girl has GORGEOUS collarbones. everyone’s bodies are different and skinny doesn’t always equal having the qualities that appeal to us.

guys… i went horseback riding in MAY, and none of my riding pants fit so i had to put jeans on. they fit, but they were really tight and uncomfortable.
i put them on today, and they were LOOSE
i literally can’t believe it. they’re high waisted and the waist part had like an inch or two of room. i even put on a crop top with them, i was so excited. i felt so skinny all day feeling the room in my jeans when i moved around. i never understood how uncomfortable tight clothes were until they were loose.

I had my first cheat day yesterday since starting my diet. First in two months of doing it!
I’m really proud of myself. Cheat days are healthy, they make us happy, and they’re good for us. People shouldn’t live their lives denying happiness and fun, just for our bodies to be “aesthetically appealing to others”. Think about it. No one would diet or work out if there were no beauty standards and we could be happy in ourselves however we looked naturally. But instead, we say no to pasta and we say no to bread, we say no to candy or sweets and maybe our bodies feel better after that but do our minds?
It took a lot to get over the anxiety of having a meal outside of my diet. I knew my blood sugar was going to spike, and I might wake up in the morning having gained some water weight back. But I reminded myself that it was one meal, and no matter what happened, it wouldn’t set back my progress. You wake up, you don’t weigh yourself, and you keep going like nothing happened. And low and behold, my numbers held steady. My progress is still on track, and I got to have a fun meal with my family and friends during a once a year event. We have to be flexible and understanding with ourselves, and thank our bodies from time to time by giving in. That doesn’t mean pig out and go over board, but we don’t need to binge during our cheat meals. It can maintain to exactly just that: one meal.
If you haven’t had a cheat meal in awhile, allow yourself to push your boundaries a bit. Just like no diet at all is unhealthy, sticking too strictly to a diet is also unhealthy. Give your body some soul food once in awhile, and we can just remind ourselves to not go overboard.
We’ve GOT this. You’ve got this. Progress isn’t perfect.

i went out last night and didn’t stray from my diet once! i’m so proud of myself. even when i woke up, throwing up and hungover, i refused to go get a bagel or greasy food. i did it. i cant believe i’ve integrated all this into my life so well.
success really comes from changing the mentality. it’s not a diet you do for a month and then “get” to stop. it doesn’t have an expiration date. it’s a lifestyle change. it’s making small choices in your day to day and sticking with them.

over a month on my diet, no cheat days. not one.
beginnings are hard. the middle is easy. the flow is easy. continuing a habit is easy. it’s breaking the old habits. starting new. getting used to something foreign. pushing past the people who try to stand in your way.
stop saying tomorrow. stop saying after the holidays. just start. once you’re in your groove nothing can stop you. take a cheat day for thanksgiving. enjoy a pumpkin spiced latte every now and then. but every other day out of the month you can be making progress. it’s up to you. you’ve got this.
we’ve got this.
