#~feather soft flames~ [ozzie]
Note
Rei walked into the club and looked around. He was here to get information on where he was exactly. He had followed the priest through the portal and then lost him. This place was definitely bright and colorful. The amount of sexual tension in the air was insane. "Definitely most be in a lust club..." he walked over the bar and sat down, ordering a drink. His feathered companion sat on his shoulder. He had already been hit on by several demons, but Father's glare scared them away.
Ozzie was as usual just observing the club from his private overlook. He liked to people watch just to make sure his customers were having a good time and that's when he noticed Rei. Mainly due to the people hitting on them and then got spooked away by his little friend. That was fine. People were allowed to accept or reject advances as with anywhere. But simply put Rei was still breaking a rule cause he didn't have a date and he didn't count the bird on his shoulder. No clue how he got past the bouncer so Ozzie slipped down in his smaller form to check things out, sitting beside him. Not minding the glare he recieved "Waiting for someone?"The sin asked with a smile trying to seem friendly.

Hello, hello my dear!
I really would like to request something, since you asked for it and hell yes the last episode was a banger. I love your Crimson HCs and I think you captured him really well. But I would like to read some nice HCs about the loveliest Prince of Hell, Stolas himself maybe got a little love interest in a Singer Succubus he met at Ozzies? Maybe she got something alluring to caught his eyes. (I don't mind if there are some nsfw parts)
Best regards

my dear beloved
My dear Icarus
Anyways...
Ahem...
He never saw himself coming back to the lust ring after the first time.
Truth be told he hoped it was the last time as well.
But alas he found himself wondering around the ring once more
Stolas wasn't looking for anything when he came to the Lust Ring
Well,,. he was looking for something, more so someone
And that was a meeting with Prince Asmodeus himself
Truth be told, it's not too hard to find the bright and extravagant circus tent like building.
Flashing lights drawing a demon in like a moth to a flame.
Matched with the loud music that reverberated across the ring
Yet, it was a hassle to find the damned three faced demon prince, an even bigger challenge to get a moment with him alone.
And the moment he finally got to talk to him. Just as he was about to ask him to take this somewhere private. Just as he was about to get the words out. Just as he was about to ask for a crysta-
A voice rang out behind him, taking Asmodeus's attention away from a now annoyed owl.
Stolas turned around with a huff, his tail feathers ruffling in irritation, as his entire body puffed up in anger and mock intimidation.
Only to be stopped in his tracks once again as soon as he peered down below.
The soft flick of a heart shaped tail and pointed blacks horns with soft cracks of red running through them entered his view.
A mischievous succubus made their way past him and stood in front of Asmodeus.
The cheeky smile on their face caught Stolas by the tongue as they interacted with the prince of lust.
"Quite popular tonight huh, Oz? It's not too often you work the floor." A snicker came from the succubus as they passed by the goetia without a second glance. Stolas watched as they did a little handshake with the other, before Asmodeus softly placed a hand on their back. "My, my, you're here early~ Looking for some private time with your favorite prince~?" Asmodeus said, his two other faces cooing at the succubus.
A soft blush rose to Stolas's face at the lewd comment as he looked between the two. "You need to pay the dancers before you touch them, big guy." They said with emphasis on their words as they gently pushed his hand off them before turning and looking up to Stolas with a mischievous smile.
"Right, Feathers?"
They left right after their jest
And Stolas was left lapping at his tongue
Asmodeus continued on with their conversation as if nothing happened
Like he didn't just forget what he came here for.
But god. did he know what was gonna make him keep coming back.
And it certainly didn't go unnoticed by Ozzie, who swiftly invited him to tonights show.
Gotta be a good host at the end of the night right?
Residing in a balcony seat, Stolas was left on his own while Asmodeus went backstage to settle some issues.
Stolas fiddled with his phone as he watched the countless tables of couples from up above.
Maybe it was stupid to accept the offer to stay. Maybe he should just go home-
"Bartender~ I really did it the time! Need a couple shots for a good time!"
Oh. He remembers why he's here now.
Soft curious hoots came form him as he peered over the railing watching you talk to guest and other dancers.
You wore a simple black outfit as you leaned against the bar.
He had to stop himself from taking a photo of you covering your face when you laughed at a patron's comment.
The playful smile on your face as you took the drinks brought a small one to his face as well.
It soon took a full on blush when you peered up at him, raising your glass in a cheers to him.
Poor thing didn't know what to do with himself as his brain became a literal bird brain.
Shooting back in his seat he raised a hand raised to cover his face as he broke out into a soft fit of giggles and coo's
you gave a soft smile before walking back behind stage, waving bye to others as you passed by.
Maybe he really did have a thing for red~
Sitting up in his seat he fixed his clothing and feathers as the lights dimmed
"Hello perverts, pervettes, and the freaks who like everything in between~ I hope you are all ready for the show tonight! We have something very special for everyone, me included~"
Stolas remembered him from the last time he was here
The clown's vibrant color scheme and loud persona was hard to forget
As he pranced around the stage announcing tonights agenda, a figure emerged from the curtain behind him
Gaining a bit of courage back he straightened his back and cleared his throat
"Asmodeus, I wanted to ask about that succubus from before if that was alright?"
"I hope it's not to make a formal complaint now. I was just starting to like ya' feathers." A playful voice rang out form behind him
His eyes widened as he softly gulped and turned around in his chair
Stolas was met with a familiar smile that held the same playful tone as their comment.
Instead of the black outfit you had on earlier it looked as if you were there to hang out with him
A pair of comfy pants and oversized hoodie to match, he had to restrain himself from squeezing your face in his hands
With a soft ruffle of his feathers he softly leaned into you with an awkward smile
Making himself smaller, he peered down at the figure before him as he stuttered over his words
"Satans No! No nothing like that. I- uh, I, wanted to ask if you were a worker here?"
"Ooh! You wanted to buy a dance? Well~ you'll have to wait until after the show, but I'll find you after, yeah?"
With the flash of a smile they left as quick as they came and Stolas is left with one thought...
"Oh, I have got to fuck them"
Not too long after they left, the curtains behind him pushed over once again. This time revealing Asmodeus, who had a cheeky grin on his face as he pulled his seat out.
"I hope I didnt keep you waiting too long, now. I had to deal with a few things out back stage." He said as he made himself comfortable next to Stolas. Quick to shake his head Stolas sat up in his chair, dusting himself off a bit as the lights faded to black around them. Spotlights circled around the stage as music slowly built up around them.
The lights slowed and focused on the middle of the curtains that hung at the back of the stage. The curtains flung open and revealed the succubus in a black and red outfit that didn't leave much for Imagination, not that Stolas was complaining. A chorus of la's came from their lips as the lights dimmed around them to a single spotlight.
"Oh baby, baby, have you seen Amy tonight? Is she in the bathroom, is she smoking up outside?" The slowly made their way down the stage, looking at the crowd as they sang the song and made small gestures with their hands.
They made their way to the end the stage, leaning down closer to the guest in the front row. "Oh, baby, baby, does she take a piece of lime for the drink that I'mma buy her? Do you know just what he likes?" Before they said their last line they gave a sly look up to the balcony with a quick wink for walking back down.
"Oh, tell me, have you seen her? 'Cause I'm so, oh I can't get her off of my brain." Each note was staccato at the end, they're danced following along with the words. "I just wanna go to the party she gon' go. Can somebody take me home? Ha, ha, he, he, ha, ha, ho" With a mischievous glint in their eyes they looked at Stolas once more with their words. Whether it be just in jest or in all seriousness, his feathers ruffled at the shiver that made its way down to each of his nerve endings, if demons have them.
"Love me, hate me, say what you want about me But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy" More lights faded in as dancers in cages lowered from the ceiling. More dancers filed through the sea of tables and patrons as the succubus sang the along with the chorus. Each one performing their own dance with another as guest threw money their way.
The extra dancers disappeared once the second verse began, a few male succubus remaining on stage. The ones that remained interacted and touched the succubus as they danced along the stage, pushing them out of their way. Which was a little very enjoyed by Stolas as small hoots of laughter escaped him. "They seem to be livelier tonight, I wonder why~" Asmodeus commented slyly to the another prince while not looking his way. Though his other faces gave him dead away as they stared Stolas dead on, giggling.
With a choked hoot Stolas looked at Asmodeus as he tried to catch his breath. "Oh! Is that so? Well they are quite the... performer?" Stolas said questioning himself at the end, all while Asmodeus laughed at his confusion. "They are, aren't they? Seems they've taken a liking to you. Someones lucky tonight or better yet, getting lucky~" Asmodeus cooed softly leaning towards stolas playfully nudging him with his elbow. Only to laugh when he turned his head and was greeted with stammering and very flustered owl.
Safe to say Ozzie just found the story of the night for Fizzy when he finds him. Such gossip queens.
The song only continued on for a few more moments before the lights fully turned off and the crowd applauded as the dancers exited the stage.
Giving just enough time for Stolas to regain his composure
Or well at least a bit of it
Because the remaining minutes Asmodeus was there
He made it a mission to tease the prince before he had to return to his duties behind stage.
But thank satans Ozzie was called back stage quickly
Stolas didn't think he could take anymore of it
His feathers puffed up and face beat red he was pulled out o this thoughts by a knock
"Hope I didn't make you wait long. Wanted to wash up a bit before I came~."
Stolas let out a high pitched chirp his face flushed once again as he lapped his tongue for words
With a soft laugh you waved him off with your hand as you tried to form words through your giggles.
"I'm kidding! Ozzie said it's fun teasing you, but I think he's probably done enough already."
Before he could say anything you gestured for him to follow you
With a prominent blush on his face Stolas straightened his clothes and quickly got into step with you.
Walking down the hall Stolas thought of what to say as he followed behind you
'Would casual conversation be good? Or maybe a talk over a drink?'
Poor boy was a bit nervous
And it didn't help with each moment you got stopped by a worker or a fan.
Though most were quick small talk, some fans had gained enough courage to ask for a date.
Better yet, they would hop to the point and ask of your number.
Each time they got the same response, each given the same number.
"XXX - 867 - 5309"
With a smile and a wink, you waved them off each time.
'Maybe this was a bad idea' He thought to himself as he watched each demon walk away feeling giddier then the last
With only a few more twist and turns he found himself back stage passing by the other performers dressing rooms.
He took one glance away from you and the moment he turned back you were gone
Stolas only found you when you grabbed his hand and pulled him into a dressing room.
The room seemed still as the bass of the music became dulled behind the walls.
Clothing racks and dressers were scattered around the room as a vanity sat on one end of the room while a couch, a few chairs, and a table sat on the other end.
Knickknacks where randomly placed along the room, making it feel a bit less like the work place and a bit more cozy.
"Sooo, uhm- Was that really your number?" Even Stolas winced at himself for asking.
But it was quickly wiped away with a light laugh from you
you quickly made your way to radio and shuffled through the songs and pressed play
When the music started playing you made your way over to Stolas and quickly grabbed his hands. Pulling him into the middle of the room you danced with him to the music as you started singing along.
"Jenny Jenny who can I turn to? You give me something I can hold on to. I know you'll think I'm like the others before. Who saw your name and number on the wall" Letting go of his hand you twirled around before pointing at him and pretending to sing into a microphone.
"Jenny I've got your number. I need to make you mine. Jenny don't change your number. 867 - 5 3 0 9" As you continued to sing and dance around the room it finally clicked for him. It's a song. You've been quoting a song. A smile broke out on his face when he finally realized.
"You've been giving them a fake number! Won't they notice? They might even know the song-" His rambling was cut off by a hand waving in his face. With a gentle pull of his hand you lead him to the couch in the room. "Are you a cop? Or do you always ask these many questions, feathers?"
"What! Heaven's no I would never-" He was cut off once again, but this time, by a hand cupping his face and leaning closer to him. Enough to ghost your mouth against his as you spoke.
"Good, because I might not be able to justify my next actions~"
Then he never came back after that (im fucking wit yall)
While he doesn't make it to every show and performance.
He CAN be found in your dressing room right after each one.
Well you can honestly find him there most nights your on or in the building.
It' what a good boyfriend does <3
Yes, he was the one to ask what you two 'were' relationship wise
Bby didn't want another game of cat and mouse :(
But that was quickly cleared up with your answer
"Wait, are we not? dating? right now? Would you? like too? date?"
Be glad you're cute. He was ready to make a new ring in hell.
He was very possessive at the start of the relationship.
"Fizzie baby, when did we start ordering stone statues?"
They make wonderful coat and drying racks for the dancers though, so Ozzie doesn't have much to say about it.
"Just don't do it to any high bidders okay~"
stolas did apologize though, hes too much of a good boy not too
But there's always one thing he's glad about.
Stolas's day is filled with tedious and idiotic duties and task he has to complete.
But as soon as night begins to set in Hell, a new energy fills him as he runs around his room getting ready.
The one thing he is glad about is that he can always find you in the same place every night.
Be it the fact you're a dancer within the prestigious club, it was basically your job in a sense, you were always able to catch his eye off first glance.
Never more then a few glances away, soon only a few steps as he was the one now to pull you back stage.
What? Asmodeus said he was allowed too, as long as he put money in his pockets.
Make his pockets hurt, and make them hurt good - Ozzie, 2023
Your biggest supporter ever. It started off with simple five, tens, and twenties. Then it escalated to fifties and one hundreds. Soon he was throwing hand fulls of diamonds on the stage.
Which he was promptly yelled at for by Ozzie.
But after each set he's right back stage giving you hugs and kisses.
Not that your complaining much
Having your demon prince waiting for you, watching over you, and only you was an amazing gift after each performance.
He also helps ward off creeps from interacting with you often.
Were you a bit surprised when you saw his true form? Yes. Did you also fuck him in it after? Also yes, a few times. Never knew how much tension that form has. No worries his pretty little succubus is there to help him through it all~
But to be honest, I think he's always more soft than horny.
He's always bundled up in your dressing room, all cozied up on the couch as he has a movie or show paused.
Such a cuddle bug he is <3
And for the fact he comes here so often. bro might as well just work there
That the balcony seat he first sat in with Asmodeus was now a personal booth for him whenever he came
Nothing but the best for his beloved~
Only the best for his canary <3

“The power went out!” Fizz for Ozzie?
Rainy Day Sentence Starters
[ Ozzie ]
Indeed it had. At least they were at home, Ozzie figured. With a soft chuckle, the glowing King's face turned soft and he nodded carefully.
"No worries, Baby, I got this." Breathing fire was an easy feat for him, and he made a small, perpetual flame that danced over his fingertips, "Let's find you a candle and we'll get you hooked up. Unless we find a flashlight first..."
Not that he thought seeing in the dark would be a problem for Fizzarolli, he knew better than to underestimate him. Those eyes were good for a lot of things, and he didn't doubt that they could handle this.
"...or we could go stealth mode, I guess. I like listening to the rain in the dark." He admitted, his voice a little softer as he turned to look at the windows. Rain dripped down them, spattering on the glass in disordered blotches. He couldn't make it out as well like this, but he did enjoy the thought.
A flash of lightning lit up the kitchen they stood in, the huge windows letting in plenty of light. Thunder followed suit, and he shivered a little with the sensation it sent through him. His mane fluffed up, his feathers standing on end for a second before he relaxed.
Sometimes the loud noises really affected him, but he hoped that Fizzarolli didn't notice quite yet. He didn't need to make things awkward. He could always slip away later if he needed to.

3rd Person pov:
A gasp was heard in the previously dead silent train depot, Derek’s head shot over to the previously passed out girl, Arae. (y/n) looked around at her surroundings, obviously confused by where she was and why she was unable to recall what had happened previously.
Derek was sitting across from the teen, having been watching over her whilst she was unconscious, (y/n) looked around the damp, dark area, shooting a questioning look to the Alpha werewolf sitting close by. “Where are the others?” She asked, referencing to the teen Betas the man had chosen to turn. Derek nodded towards the exit, “School,” He responded, reminding the girl that she had to be there also.
Sitting upright in bed as quick as she could, she tried leaving the cot Derek had tucked her into, suddenly realising she was wearing nothing but a large Henley shirt. Looking down at her body, she gave another confused gaze at Derek, who looked away, almost bashfully. “When you passed out, you weren’t... wearing anything,” He muttered, “I had to give you something.” She nodded and sat back in the cot, covering her lower half.
“To ease your nerves, I called in as your guardian, used some charm to get you the day off from school.” He told her, his normal stoicism returning. For some reason, the young Arae felt something burning in the pit of her stomach, hearing that he had ‘charmed’ some random girl. “I asked Isaac and Erica to take notes for you, in classes you share.” He finished. (y/n) nodded, both in acknowledgement and gratitude.
There was silence for a moment, allowing (y/n) to get a grasp on her surroundings and emotions, which were equally as blurry after leaving her Spirit Form. “So...” Derek began, stealing the teen’s attention once more. “How did this...” He gestured at her body, “Happen?” (y/n) looked sort of offended, leaving the man to quickly rephrase his question, “I meant the supernatural thing!” (y/n) looked down, clearing her dry throat before beginning. “I guess it’s sort of a long story.”
Flashback ~
(y/n) pov:
I smacked softly at the door of the mausoleum, I must have been doing so for hours by now, my hands were bloody and bruised from how long I had been pounding and scratching at the door. There was nothing more I could do. I turned and began looking around, my eyes having adjusted to the dark long ago. I no longer had any hope that dad would come back for me. “What did I do?” I whimpered, thinking about my family, “Why did they leave me?”
“Not everyone can live forever my darling,” I heard a soft voice from behind me, whipping my head around with a small squeak. I couldn’t see anything or anyone, I could only hear them, they seemed to be humming. A simple tune that I recognised as something my mother had sang to me, every night. “Mama?” I called timidly.
The voice gave an amused chuckle, “Hello (n/n),” She told me, I gasped and ran to where I heard the voice, tears streaming even more quickly down my face, looking desperately for my mother. “You won’t be able to see me, dear one, not yet anyway.” She whispered. I whined slightly, but the lullaby she was humming had hastened the exhaustion that was overcoming me.
I sat against the wall of the building, listening intently to the lullaby, “I’ll see you soon, my darling girl.” Mother whispered, sending me off to a peaceful slumber.
“I don’t remember much of what happened before I died, I remember the hunger, the thirst, the aching I felt because of them. Before I passed to the other side, I remember my mother warning me, telling me not to hold onto the past, I guess I didn’t listen. Right before I left, I thought of my parents, I felt anger. Towards my father for my murder and my mother for leaving me and letting him do it, even though she seemingly had no choice. Before I knew it, I was a monster.”
When I opened my eyes, the heat surrounding me seemed to have had no effect on my body and yet it was blistering. The body that used to be aching, in hunger, dehydration and emotional turmoil, now felt nothing. I looked around at the new environment, there was fire everywhere, weeping apparitions of all ages were the only life (or dead) I could see. The place I was now in was inherently terrifying, but I didn’t feel afraid, I felt like I belonged here.
“I was there for who knows how long, I seemed to grow as I should have been growing while I was alive, getting stronger with each year that passed. I had another Arae to watch over me, her name was Yarrow, she was sort of my boss, she told me what to do and when. But I knew I would never be happy knowing that I was securing everyone else’s revenge, but still feeling completely unsatisfied with my father’s livelihood.
“I knew I needed to finish what he had started, so I made a deal with Yarrow. Something you should know Derek, making a deal, with a spirit of the dead, is incredibly dangerous business, even if she was my own kind. We agreed that, as long as she had my allegiance, I would be allowed to return to the living and destroy my father.”
“You wished for conference with me (y/n).” The older Arae in front of me stood tall and proud, her wings were a brilliant crimson, seemingly made of flames, her eyes were the incredible cerulean of our species’ magic, contrasting against the red of her feathers and our home. I nodded to her, “Yes, my mistress, I have felt that I’m not doing my best, knowing that he is still up there.” I informed her, pointing towards the ceiling and the land of the living with my sharp talons.
Yarrow smiled warmly at me, “I’ve watched over you for the last ten solstices, I watched you grow into a wonderful Arae, I’ve noticed your internal struggle, knowing how much you blamed yourself and others hurt me, but I know you’ll do what you need to.” She explained. I looked up at her, hanging off of her every word, “Do you mean-?”
She nodded encouragingly, “Indeed, I shall allow you to return to the living, until you have no unfinished business via yourself or other mortals.” She ordered, the feeling of the command hitting me like a hurricane, literally. When a senior Arae commanded an underling, you could feel the weight of the words envelope you. All of a sudden I was back in the mausoleum, my glowing blue eyes casting a dim hue over my young corpse in the corner.
I pondered over Yarrow’s words, “Until you have no unfinished business via yourself or other mortals.” There was always unfinished business for mortals, they were constantly quick to want revenge, even when they cannot accept the consequences. Revenge may be a dish best served cold but no dishes are free.
Flashback over~
Derek looked at me shocked, I wonder what he was thinking, why my father did what he did, whether or not my story was true, who knows? “You should know this Derek,” I began, watching his deep green eyes stare into my own as they began glowing once more, “We’ve been connected in mind and soul because of Kate Argent.”
His eyes darkened, his face becoming once more, sullen. “I am aware of your anger towards her, I know what she did and I am sorry for your loss. I know you feel blame because of what she did, but who she was, wasn’t your fault.” I told him, transforming into my spirit form before leaning down to gently kiss his cheek.
I then abruptly left, I had someone I had to meet.
Timeskip~
??? pov:
“Boys! Slow down!” I called to my sons, barely seeing their chestnut brown hair before they disappeared in the crowded cafe. I huffed, out of breath after running after my six year old twins. I looked for my boys, seeing them looking up in awe at a teenage girl with (s/t) skin, (h/l) (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. I couldn’t help but gape along with them, she was beautiful, she exuded an aura of confidence, but her smile was sweet.
“Hi,” She greeted with a fond smile, “Do these belong to you?” She chuckled. I shook myself out of my revere, nodding at the girl who still had that lovely smile. The smile quickly slipped from her face as she looked at my I.D badge from the hospital. “Francesca (l/n)?” She asked, I looked down at my chest and back at her, nodding with a grin. “You wouldn’t happen to know a (f/n) (l/n)?” She asked again.
“You know my husband?” I asked, she looked briefly shocked before responding. She nodded in confirmation and replied, “I’m being so rude, allow me to introduce myself, my name is (y/n) (l/n), I’m (f/n)’s daughter.” That caused me to look as shocked as she had. (f/n) had a daughter? Why wouldn’t he tell me that? “I know you must be so confused, I’ll buy you a coffee, we could maybe sit and talk? I could buy a couple of cupcakes for these two cupcakes,” She giggled, pinching the boys’ cheeks.
I nodded, still frozen in shock. I went to find a table, but the boys wanted to stay with their new big sister, I could hear them vaguely as they walked over to the counter.
“I’m Lucas! This is Ozzy, are you going to come live with us?” Lucas asked, excited as always, (y/n) chuckled and shook her head, Ozzy then almost shouted, “You’re really pretty!” (y/n) laughed loudly, ruffling his hair and leading them over to buy drinks and food.
They were only six, they probably didn’t realise the magnitude of the situation. How could (f/n) hide this from me? He was my husband, he never told me he had another daughter, or even another relationship. (y/n) soon cleared this up, “Francesca, I’m sure you have a lot of questions.” I interrupted quickly.
“Franny, please.” I told her with a weak smile, not quite getting over my shock. She nodded, after two cappuccinos and a lot more cupcakes, I knew the full story. (f/n) had been married before marrying me, her name was (m/n), she passed away when (y/n) was only four. Apparently, after her mother’s untimely passing, she went to live with her mother’s family, her father having lost custody.
After we got through the rather awkward conversation, we actually got along quite well, she was the daughter I always wanted, my first (and hopefully only) secret step-daughter.
Timeskip~
Walking into the house, the boys beginning to run down from their sugar high, compliments of their new sister, I walked up to (f/n)’s office with purpose. As much as I wasn’t upset that he had been in a previous marriage and had a daughter with her, I was furious that he hadn’t told me! Knocking on the door, his voice from the other side allowed my entrance.
He could see the anger on my face, setting down whatever he was working on to give me his full attention. “So, I ran into someone interesting today,” I began, my voice strained, “She told me her name was (y/n).” I hadn’t fully believed the story until I saw my husband’s reaction. His eyes widened massively at her name, standing from his chair with reckless abandon.
(f/n) pov:
Franny continued to tell me that she had ran into a girl, claiming to be my daughter, I was terrified that she knew, she had been told what I had done. (y/n), or the person posing as her, had told her that after (m/n) died, (her name still leaving a bad taste in my mouth) she had moved in with her mother’s family. As far as I knew, (m/n) didn’t have any family, so I already knew this person was not my daughter.
I wasn’t listening to Franny anymore, responding with a nod every once in a while, her anger seemed to have depleted, replaced with joy at having a wonderful daughter. I was seething, someone knew what I had done, they were taunting me, acting as my daughter. The one I had killed. Or had I?
3rd Person pov
Erica pushed Stiles harshly into the darkened pool area, Derek’s sour wolf face greeting him as he bounced a basketball back and forth ominously. “Stiles, what did you see at the mechanic’s garage?” He asked, looking expectantly. Stiles responded with the only thing he knew, sarcasm.
“Several alarming EPA violations that I’m seriously considering reporting.” He told him, all with a straight face. The look on his face told the teen that wasn’t what he was looking for, looking Stiles in the eye as he punctured the basketball with his claws, deflating it and watching as it crumpled to the ground. “Let’s try this again...” The Alpha ordered.
“Alright, the thing was pretty slick looking. Skin was dark, kind of patterned. I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Because I have someone I really need to talk to.” Apparently that wasn’t enough, so the boy continued.
“Okay, um... Eyes. It’s eyes are yellowish. Slitted. It had a lot of teeth.” Not noticing the look of alarm on the werewolves’ faces as they looked up behind him. “Oh and it has a tail. Okay, we good?” Stiles finally realised what was happening, “What? Have you seen it? You’ve got this look like you know exactly what I’m talking about.” The human spun around and looked at whatever they could see, just as the creature leapt from the wall.
Erica darted in front of her Alpha, trying to protect him but the thing moved too fast for her. Whipping towards her, it shoved the Beta across the floor, her head knocking brutally into the wall, a small yelp accidentally alerting a certain being before she slumped unconscious. Derek saw what had happened to his poor Beta, beginning to fight the creature.
The fight continued, the man trying to protect the sarcastic human from harm. “Get behind me,” Derek ordered, Stiles nodding and retreating behind him, once he does, he notices a bloody slash against the back of the werewolf’s neck. “Derek, your neck...” The man turned around, his hand reaching for his neck just as his leg’s gave out. The paralysis took hold as Derek dropped to his knees.
The two stumble around, Stiles trying to grab his phone from his pocket and Derek keeping watch. As the creature emerged from the darkness, slowly and methodically, Derek’s strength failed, Stiles lost his balance, dropping his phone and Derek slipped from his grip, tumbling into the pool.
Without a moments hesitation, Stiles jumped in after the sinking man, the water splashing as the two burst to the surface, gasping for air. They looked for the creature, hoping out loud that it had fled, only for a piercing shriek to come from the darkness, “Maybe not.” Derek responded.
Timeskip~
“Get me out of here before I drown!” Derek shouted, as Stiles began to struggle to carry the weight of the man. “You’re worried about drowning? Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth?” The snarky boy replied. He could almost feel the fury rising in the Lycan as he responded, “Did you notice I’m paralysed from the neck down in eight feet of water!?”
Stiles gave in, beginning to paddle towards the edge of the pool, not seeing the odd thing that was terrorising them. “Stop!” Derek shouted, both of them spotting the glowing yellow eyes at the other side of the pool. “What’s it waiting for?” Stiles asked shakily. The supernatural didn’t respond, his eyes trained purposefully on the creature, as if trying to figure out the answer.
Breathlessly, Stiles adjusted his grip on Derek, “I don’t know how much longer I can do this.” The creature continued circling his prey, Stiles’ eyes focusing on the phone on the wet tiles nearby. “Don’t even think about it.” Derek commanded.
“Can you trust me for half a second?” Stiles asked exasperated, getting a blatant, “No.” In response. “I’m the one keeping you alive if you hadn’t noticed.” The boy almost yelled, becoming more and more over-exerted.
“When the paralysis wears off, who’s the one who’s going to be able to fight that thing? You or me?” Stiles considered the options he had, asking if that had been why he’d been holding him up for two hours. “Yes. You don’t trust me. I don’t trust you. But you need me to survive. Which is why you’re not letting me go.”
Looking Derek in the eye, Stiles lets go, immediately heading for his phone as Derek sinks to the pool floor. Snatching his phone from the tiles, he turns to see the creature coming straight for him, forcing him to make a desperate leap for the pool. His hand shot out from the water, his last attempt to call for help, as he dials Scott’s number.
“I can’t talk right now.” Scott’s voice sounded from the speaker, before promptly hanging up. Stiles looked at his phone screen, completely gobsmacked at what had just happened. He looked down at the black figure, blurry at the bottom of the pool, having no other choice, he let the phone go and dived to save Derek. The two broke the surface of the water once again, gasping for air.
“Tell me- you got him.” Derek practically pleaded, his voice broken with gasps. Stiles refused to answer, his face telling the other man all he needed to know. The sound of glass breaking overhead scared the both of them, clawed fingers reaching down to grab the two, keeping them in the pool but above the water.
Stiles released his grip on the werewolf, relief flooding through his arms. Sighing, Stiles looked up at whoever had saved them, yelping in surprise at the sight of the winged beauty. It was (y/n). Her eyes were glowing a deep blue, her body was covered in dark feathers and, most importantly, she had huge wings protruding from her back, flapping softly to keep them afloat.
She seemed to be keeping the two men in her hold with no problem, proving her incredible strength. Her bright eyes were quietly observing the creature from afar. Scott then appeared, with his claws and fangs dropped, letting out a fearsome roar. He seemed to be confused, not quite knowing which creature to attack, the one holding his friend and former mentor, or the one still circling the pool.
His dilemma was quickly answered when the scaly creature wrapped its tail around his leg, lifting him off of the floor and and hurtling him towards a wall mirror. Glass shattered, lifting (y/n)’s attention from the men in her arms, she carried them to the pool side, dropping them as gently as she could, before rushing to help Scott. The creature inched ever closer to Scott, in desperation, he grabbed a shard of the broken mirror to use as a weapon.
That’s when it happened. The creature stopped its attack, focusing on its reflection in the shard, it seemed confused by it. As though it didn’t know what it was. Baring its teeth in a shriek, the creature hissed at itself and retreated, leaping onto the wall and darting out of one of the high windows, disappearing into the night.
Realising that everyone else was fine, (y/n) fled to attend to Erica, who was slowly coming to. Helping her and Derek outside to follow Scott and Stiles, who were at the hood of a car, plugging some USB into a laptop. They seemed to be distressed about something, “That’s not English.” Scott decided, looking at the random letters and symbols.
“Is that even a language?” Stiles replied.
“How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is?” Scott questioned, looking even more confused.
“It’s called a Kanima.” Derek called from over their shoulders, with a revived Erica and winged (y/n) at his side. Stiles looked at the three incredulously, “You knew this whole time?” Derek shook his head, the teens attention quickly being taken over by (y/n), “Only when it was confused by its own reflection.” She told them. Scott stood on guard, looking at the odd supernatural.
“It doesn’t know what it is.” He confirmed.
“Or who.” Derek continued. Stiles asked the man what else he knew, “Just stories and rumours. A shapeshifter, but not right. It’s...” He paused, looking for the right word.
“An abomination.” (y/n) finished, looking personally hurt by the word. Derek, looking worried at the young girl, finishing his interaction with the boys, “I know one thing, when I find it, I’m going to kill it.”
(y/n) pov
‘It seems as though phase three may have to wait.’

So... this one was a lot longer than all the other chapters, it may have seemed a bit monotonous to read, I don’t know, my writing tends to get a bit crap after two thousand words. Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed part five! Once again, if you want to be notified when a new chapter for this series is posted, just comment and ask to be added to the taglist! Love you guys! Xxx

The  Rescue
Chapter 3 - Home Truths - AO3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19704580/chapters/46632031
“Jim!”
Jim flinched awake to find Oswald shaking him and staring at him with intensity.
He sat up quickly, rubbing furiously at his sleep-leadened eyes.
“Detective Gordon, what are you doing here?” Oswald said stiffly, his blue-green eyes flashing indignantly.
“Erm….” Jim faltered,  “I was just...erm….tired….”
He left the bed hastily, went back to his chair and sat down slowly, grasping the arms tightly. This was awkward!
So much for being direct, he thought.  He had been taken by surprise and had chickened out yet again….
“Ah.  Hmm,”  Oswald said reflectively, playing with his fingers distractedly.  “Well, yes, of course - I see what you mean,” he mused.  “It must be SO draining, having to care for a ‘problem’ patient like me.”  He closed his eyes, stretched his lips and sighed heavily.
“No, Oswald, that’s not what….” Jim said hurriedly, then halted mid-sentence as Oswald’s eyes flicked open and a big smirk of triumph appeared on his face.
“You are SO easy to tease, Detective Gordon!” he grinned impishly.
“Ha ha, very funny!” Jim replied dryly. “That’s the last time I take pity on you, Cobblepot!”
“I never asked you for pity, Jim.”  Oswald’s eyes flashed a warning and his mouth tightened.
Jim had struck a raw nerve.
This was tricky.  Hell, he wanted so much make Oswald smile again.  He always looked so damn bewitching - the way his eyes glistened when he was being playful….
He wondered how to do that, though?  He fought off the overwhelming urge to take that pretty, enchanting face in his hands and then kiss the life out of it.
“Erm, sorry, bad choice of words.  I meant HELP you, friends help one another, right?”  he scrambled desperately.
It worked.  Oswald’s face relaxed into a soft smile of surrender.
“Of course, I should have known that’s what you meant.  I am just a tad sensitive at the moment, Jim, you understand,” he said.
“Well that’s no wonder, after all you’ve been through,” Jim said sympathetically.
“Thank you, Jim,” Oswald nodded gratefully, “I knew you’d understand.  You know how much I suffered at the hands of Galavan and his sadistic sidekick sister!”  His tone hardened and his eyes began to fill up with angry tears.
“Hey,” said Jim gently, “You’ll be ok now, it’s safe - here.”  He tentatively reached out and touched Oswald lightly on the arm.
Oswald’s eyes got very big and bright.
“Oh - Jim. So tender all of a sudden!” he smiled, his dimples growing.  “What brought this on then?”
Jim gulped hard.  That smile….those dimples….
“Well, Oswald - I just don’t like to think of you suffering.  I mean - no-one deserves that.  And - we all need support in times of trouble - don’t we?  Everyone needs a friend - don’t they?” he prompted carefully.
“Yes, Jim, of course - you’re right.  And that was so beautifully expressed, too.  But - Jim - the time you are spending here with me - the way you’re looking after me and all my needs - what does Lee think about it?” He cocked his head and studied Jim closely.
“Erm….Lee?  Well...she knows I’m doing the right thing - I mean, by saving a life, and protecting a witness…” Jim floundered.
“And that’s it?  That’s all? Does she believe all this is just altruism, Jim?” Oswald pressed.
“Why wouldn’t she?” Jim fired back defensively.
Oswald visibly flinched.   He realised he had pushed Jim too far.
“Oh.  Well, yes, of course, why wouldn’t she?  Please -  forgive me, old friend,” he said apologetically.  “I shouldn’t have interrogated you like that..”
“No Oswald, it’s ok,” Jim cut in quickly, his brows relaxing.   “I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that.  Maybe it’s just because I’m tired,” he shrugged.
“Well, Jim, of course you are!  All this must be telling on you.  I do appreciate your sacrifice.”
“Oswald - it’s no sacrifice - really - no sacrifice at all.”
”Ah, well, if you’re sure.  I would hate to put you to any inconvenience.”
“You?  Ha!  Never!”
“Now you are being flippant, James…”
“ I was just trying to lighten the mood.”
“I know you were. And I was just playing with you, of course. It’s what we do, isn’t it, James?””
Jim really wanted to take that sweet bundle of beauty into his arms and kiss him passionately, trace those dimples on that smiling feline face with his fingers, tell him in no uncertain terms that he was more than ready to play.  But just now he lacked the courage to take the risk.  It could still be a step too far.
Oswald saw Jim’s thoughtful frown.  He guessed that something was troubling him, and he suspected he knew what it was.
It was time they stopped messing around and put their cards on the table.
This was ridiculous!  If Jim couldn’t do this, then he would have to take charge.
“James,” he began purposefully. “There is something I have wanted to share with you for quite a while, but have never felt quite able to until now.”
“Oh?  This sounds kinda deep, Oswald.”  Jim’s frown unravelled and a soft, boyish smile replaced it.  Oswald’s heart skipped a beat.
“Well, Jim,” he resumed slowly,  “you are right, it is deep.  But I have been bursting to tell you about it and really don’t think this can wait any longer.”
“Oh. OK, Oz - what is it?” Jim said, full of intrigue.
“It’s this, Jim.”
Oswald took a deep breath, clasped his hands tightly and began.
“As I was being carried in your arms, unconscious, through that forest, I had a dream.  I dreamt that you told me that you had been in love with me for a very long time, but had been too afraid to let me know.
“You had always treated me roughly because of your fear of revealing your true feelings.  You said you were really sorry for treating me so shabbily, and would try your best to make up for it.  You said that far from seeing me as your bitter enemy, you saw me not only as a friend but also as your beautiful dark angel, and that if anything bad were to befall me, it would break your heart.
“There was no way you would let me come to harm though, as you quickly reassured me that you would protect me with your life.  I would live and get well and strong, as you would nurse me back to health and stay by my side for as long as it took to get me on my feet again.
“You would make sure to get justice for the death of my poor mother.  She would be found and have a proper burial and the murdering Galavans would get what was coming to them.  You would find a way of doing that that would avoid getting me into any kind of trouble and would keep me out of prison - because what good would it do me to be in Blackgate when I could be lying in your arms instead?”
“It was a beautiful dream, Jim, and so vivid, recalling it brings tears to my eyes.  I just needed to share it with you.”
Oswald had looked down at his hands the whole time he was speaking, and his voice had begun to shake during his speech.  By the time he reached his conclusion,  there were indeed tears in his eyes, and he gave an emphatic sniff and blinked rapidly, struggling bodily to contain them.  He wrung his trembling hands so tightly that the knuckles turned white.
Jim swallowed hard and caught his breath at every word Oswald uttered, for each one had been dragged from his own heart and all were true.  The dream Oswald had recounted had come from a nightmare, one that had made Jim so afraid that he would never have a chance to confess how much this gangster, this delightful little devil had come to mean to him.  He had wanted to tell him, regardless of whether he could hear those words or not -before it was too late.
And it appeared that his dark angel had heard them after all.  He had kept them hidden away in his heart ready to escape so sweetly and eloquently through his lips.
So he opened his own lips and took courage, heaving his heart into his mouth at last.
“Thank you,” he said quietly.  “That was beautiful, Ozzy.  And - it wasn’t a dream, but you knew that, didn’t you?”
Oswald slowly raised his face and his tear filled eyes shone starry bright with intense joy as he said, “Yes, Jim.  Yes, of course I knew it!”
Later….
“I never thought I’d fall in love with  a gangster.”
“Ha!  But you did, Detective Gordon.”  Oswald grinned, his eyes shining proudly with love.
“Yes - I did, Mr Cobblepot.” Jim stared lovingly back, then pulled his gangster into a soft kiss.
Oswald drank in the feel of Jim’s mouth on his. He closed his eyes and sighed as their lips parted.
“Mmmmm.  Thank you, James.  That was a lovely kiss.  Hmmm, Jim - an interesting thought just occurred to me,” he mused.  “If I’m a gangster - then does that make you my moll?!”
“Ha ha - I guess it must do!” Jim laughed.
“I think you’d look adorable in a feather boa and a flapper dress, Detective.”
“What?  No way!”
“Yes, I think you could really carry it off!   It would be the perfect undercover disguise.  You could be my perfect arm candy when I’m back at my club!”
“ Well OK, if you’re sure - as long as you don’t expect me to wear heels….”
A short time before that….
After his little ‘confession’, Jim had wasted no time following up on it.  He had reached out and taken Oswald’s bewitching, tear-wetted face in his hands, staring deeply into his glistening azure eyes before claiming his lips at last.
The touch of that sweet, velvet-soft mouth had ignited a flame of love that had coursed through his whole body, firing up every fibre of his being.
But Oswald had pulled away and broken the kiss, his mouth agape with surprise.
Jim was stunned for a moment,  hypnotised by the beauty of Oswald’s astonished stare.
Then he’d tried to apologise, thinking he’d overstepped the mark.
“Oh -  Oswald, look….I’m sorry…” he’d begun awkwardly.
“No, Jim, please!  I just wasn’t ready…”  Oswald had cut in, his eyes wide and bright with excitement.
And he had grasped Jim’s face and pulled him back onto his waiting, welcoming lips.
Oswald had never been kissed before -  not like this - that was evident.  He was inexperienced  and gauche and in desperate need of guidance.
Luckily, Jim was both willing and able to school him in the ways of love.  Oswald followed his lead, first slowly and tentatively and then with hungry, unbridled passion.
He sure was a fast learner!

20 sports movies we love that will ease your boredom
Tumblr media
WireImage
It may be hard to find real sports to watch right now, but there is an ABUNDANCE of great fictional sports at your fingertips.
Televised sports are on hiatus for the foreseeable future. It’s a tough (but obviously necessary) blow, considering we’re all stuck inside with little to do, and sports would be the perfect diversion right about now.
Thankfully, there are hundreds, or possibly thousands, of sports-centric movies available to wile away the hours. Some might even be convincing enough to get you to yell at your screen, or feel the inimitable catharsis that comes from watching your team (the good team, obviously) win.
Below are some of the SB Nation staff’s go-to sports flicks, with information about where to stream them included. The majority are also available to rent via Amazon, YouTube, Google Play and the like.
Hot Rod (2007)
Available on Netflix, Prime and Pluto.
Insofar as failing to jump over things with a moped is a sport, Hot Rod is about sports. It’s an extremely dumb, pleasant movie with no stakes whatsoever, and it is my number one.
— Seth Rosenthal
Yes, it’s hilarious — but even more importantly, it has the ability to absorb you before you realize it and not let your mind wander out of its grasp. Distraction grade: 10 out of 10
— Will Buikema
Creed (2015)
Available to rent
Too many Rocky sequels to count, but this one really engages with the mythos around the character and who gets to take part in that myth. Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson are two of Hollywood’s brightest stars, and while it’s frustrating they were not awarded like Sylvester Stallone for their performances, all three are terrific here. Also: unlike the original Rocky, this movie recognizes that boxing includes dodging and blocking as well as punching!
— Pete Volk
Goon (2011)
Available on Netflix.
You could probably analyze Goon for commentary about how we glorify violence in hockey, or you could sit back and enjoy a genuinely hilarious movie. It has everything you want in a hockey film. There’s a dim-witted but lovable bouncer who gets a chance at a hockey career in the minors, and a grumpy Quebecois prodigy with a physicality issue. There’s gratuitous blood and gore, and Liev Schreiber getting into fights, and a hint of bromance. There are even cameos from former NHL players, and one from current Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin in the film’s 2017 sequel, Goon: Last of the Enforcers, which is also on Netflix.
If you don’t mind some exaggerated violence and slapstick comedy (and particularly if that’s what you’re into), I highly recommend it. Plus, the soundtrack slaps.
— Sydney Kuntz
Bend it Like Beckham (2002)
Available on demand with Starz and DirecTV
It’s funny, it’s sweet, and the fact that you’ve definitely seen it before doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch it again. It made Keira Knightley an international star, and Parminder Nagra picked up the FIFA presidential award. Beyond the film, it represented a crucial moment in David Beckham’s relationship with his country. He’d gone from villain in 1998 after that red card against Argentina, to hero in 2001 after that free kick against Greece. Eight months later this came out, and canonized him as a national treasure.
— Andi Thomas
High Flying Bird (2019)
Available on Netflix
What better to watch during a period without basketball than a movie about basketball personnel that takes place during a time of no basketball? High Flying Bird, shot entirely on iPhone by Steven Soderbergh, follows a top rookie and his ambitious agent during an NBA lockout, as they try and change the owner-heavy economic structure of the NBA.
— Pete Volk
Escape to Victory (1981, also just known as Victory)
Available on demand with Cinemax and DirecTV
Sylvester Stallone is an Allied solider in a Nazi prisoner-of-war camp. So is Michael Caine. In there with them, for some reason, is Pele, Bobby Moore, Ozzy Ardiles, and half of Ipswich Town’s 1981 UEFA Cup winning squad. And wouldn’t you just know it, they have to play an exhibition against a handpicked German side, for reasons of propaganda. Will they escape … to victory?
— Andi Thomas
Goal of the Dead (2014)
Available on Shudder
”Some kind of a riot. They are burning cars.”
”Given the refereeing, no wonder.”
French football superstar Samuel Lorit faces off against his hometown team in a cup game. His formerly adoring fans now all despise him. And then a tainted steroid injection turns pretty much everybody into zombies, straight from the 28 Days Later school of hard-running mouth-frothers. Good blood-soaked fun, if probably a bit too long. But then all films are too long these days. Return of the King won a million Oscars, and that didn’t have a ‘roid-raging zombie kicking a man’s head off his neck and into the goal.
— Andi Thomas
Fighting with My Family (2019)
Available on Prime and Hulu
Maybe the only worthwhile WWE Studios release ever? I’ll await the flame from fans of The Marine 5: Battleground in the comments. What would have otherwise been yet another vanilla sports inspiration story is elevated by a terrific cast, led by newly Oscar-nominated Florence Pugh.
— Pete Volk
The Damned United (2009)
Available to rent
An adaptation of a brilliant but bleak novel about Brian Clough’s doomed spell at Leeds United, the film dispenses with most of the book’s harrowing existential loneliness and discovers a surprisingly soft-hearted buddy story underneath. Michael Sheen disappears uncannily into his role, absolutely nailing Clough’s astringent self-possession, but Colm Meaney almost steals the film as Clough’s nemesis, Don Revie. A reminder that English football, back in the ‘70s, was a strange, drizzly place full of strange, compelling people.
— Andi Thomas
Hoop Dreams (1994)
Available on HBO, Kanopy and DirecTV
One of the best American documentaries. Also one of the best movies about dreams, who crushes them and how they evolve. It is also one of the best movies about race and poverty in America. All in all, this is one of the best movies about the allure and grace of basketball. A phenomenal film!
— Pete Volk
Horse Feathers (1932)
Available via the Internet Archive
I grew up watching the Marx Brothers with my dad, and I would be remiss not to mention this college football-centric classic. Turns out the “amateur” status of college football players was a joke in the 1930s, too!
— Pete Volk
Minding the Gap (2019)
Available on Hulu
Only tangentially about sports, since the group of kids at this documentary’s focus are skateboarders, but this is one of the great modern American documentaries about growing up, difficult friendships and toxic masculinity. Highly, highly recommend.
— Pete Volk
Starship Troopers (1997)
Available on Showtime, CBS All Access, DirecTV and Vudu
There are several reasons Starship Troopers is memorable — the broadly written anti-nationalist commentary! The exploding bugs! The co-ed showers! That one fight scene soundtracked to Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You,” for some reason! — but space football is the only one that fits with our theme. In the future, America’s favorite sport is played in high school gymnasiums on old wrestling mats. There are no special teams or roughness penalties. The ball is Nerf’s rough approximation of a baked potato wrapped in foil.
Johnny Rico, our protagonist, wins and is escorted off the field a hero. Roughly 20 minutes of film later, he’s left to die on an alien planet. Shit’s real, yo.
— Christian D’Andrea
youtube
Rush (2013)
Available on HBO
If you liked Ford V. Ferrari, you’ll probably love this. Retelling the true story of James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda’s intense Formula 1 rivalry, Rush has fantastic racing scenes and benefits from focusing on the wildly different personalities and approaches of the two rivals.
— Pete Volk
A League of Their Own (1992)
Available on Showtime, and very often randomly on cable
It almost feels redundant to list this classic, which you’ve probably already seen once or dozens of times. But if you have seen it, you know it holds up better than most of the feel-good, strings-swelling-styled sports hagiographies of the 1990s. A more-or-less accurate retelling of a vital and often ignored part of American sports history, conveyed via an all-star cast and too many quotable lines to count. The “hard” may be what makes it great, but there’s nothing hard about watching this iconic and genuinely uplifting movie. (I also wrote more about it here.)
—Natalie Weiner
Speed Racer (2008)
Available to rent
One of my favorite movies of all-time, taking many aesthetic cues from anime and seamlessly bringing them into the live-action world with breathtaking visual effects. Speed Racer is visually explosive and a delight for the senses, with a grounded conflict at its core (a family business getting bought out by a heartless corporation). In my opinion, this is sports + movies in their best balance with each other.
— Pete Volk
The Heart of the Game (2005)
Available to rent
A hardscrabble team works diligently to overcome the odds, with a few twists. The movie centers on a girls basketball team from Roosevelt High School, 10 minutes from where I grew up in Seattle, and the star of the team gets pregnant. Bring tissues.
— Natalie Weiner
Uncut Gems (2019)
Available to rent
No movie better captures the anxiety of being a sports fan, or the bad decisions you make because of your fandom. Also sports luminaries Kevin Garnett and Mike Francesa deliver excellent performances. My favorite 2019 release! Louis wrote more about it here.
— Pete Volk
Undisputed II: Last Man Standing (2006)
Available on Starz and DirecTV
This is the height of me on-my-bullshit, but please allow it: Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White are generational action stars, and this entry in the excellent Undisputed series shows their singular talents at their best. White plays an ex-boxer framed for a crime and sent to prison, where he fights for his freedom in an underground MMA ring. Adkins plays the terrifying Yuri Boyka, the reigning prison champ. This is so up my alley it’s not even funny, and hopefully it’s up yours, too!
— Pete Volk
More Than a Game (2008)
Available on Starz
It’s very easy to take LeBron James for granted. After all, he’s been doing otherworldly things in the NBA for almost two decades now. Sometimes it just seems like he’s always existed, like he’ll just be inevitable forever. At a time when we’re (hopefully temporarily) deprived of watching him play basketball, it’s worth revisiting this great documentary about his origin story. Yes, he overcame seemingly insurmountable odds, but the part that sticks with you is the people around him — those who believed in him completely, and who he has been just as loyal to in return.

Made up title of a fic- The AA Meeting From Hell
I didn’t want this to be bleak, so of course I literally set it in Hell. And not Hell, Michigan (although they have an incredible ice cream shop there, so if you’re ever in the area…)
The AA Meeting Literally from Hell, feat. Zukka and Aang as a terrible wing-man:
Sokka figured this was exactly what he deserved.
“Could you please turn that down??” he gritted out, and Aang cheerfully pulled his headphone down around his neck to hear him better.
“WHAT?” Aang asked, eardrums clearly damaged by his obscenely loud music. The music that was now pouring unimpeded from his headphones.
Sokka grabbed his Walkman and yanked the cord free. Aang looked wounded.
“You can have it back if you promise to turn it down,” he said, and glared at Aang until he nodded acquiescence.
“What, you hungover?” Aang quipped.
“Jesus, Aang, not funny,” Sokka groaned. “Leave the insensitive jokes to me, man.”
“No Jesus here, I’m afraid,” Aang smiled and reached up to run a deathly pale hand over the glowing blue tattoo on his scalp. Aang may work in the bureaucratic part of Hell, but he’d earned his…stripes? Arrows? They were definitely arrows, but there was some sort of mixed Earth metaphor here that Sokka still failed to grasp. It was sort of embarrassing considering he’d worked during World War I. Satan, that had been a lot of overtime.
“Ha ha,” Sokka said grumpily. He wrapped his wings around himself crossly.
“No, don’t be like that,” Aang said, and tugged sharply on one of his flight feathers.
“Hey!” Sokka batted at him, “I need those!”
“You’re cocooning again,” Aang said, unimpressed. “Why are you so cranky today?”
“No reason,” Sokka said, and tucked his feathers even tighter around himself. Their soft down was warm and comforting and he was tired even though the meeting hadn’t even started yet.
“Oh, I see,” Aang said, and Sokka looked around at him. Sokka didn’t trust his suddenly knowing tone of voice.
Aang was looking toward the shitty card table where Ozzy was setting up coffee and donuts. There was a tall, pale, black-haired specter chatting idly with…
“They broke up,” Aang said quietly.
“Yeah, I heard,” Sokka sighed. “And now she’s his sponsor.”
“He’s 6 months and counting,” Aang said. “I’m very happy for him. Mai’s good for him. You know, all that doom and gloom and torturing souls, it’s motivational.”
“You’re not helping,” Sokka said. “He doesn’t wanna date the fucking ferryman, he’s, like, a prince.”
“There’s something to be said for slummin’ it,” Aang shrugged. “You’re super built.” Aang looked sadly down at his own ghostly white arms. he didn’t spend a lot of time out in the pits, and the one times he’d had to conduct a practical review he’d come back pink and peeling. Sokka’d had to slather aloe on him for weeks.
“Thanks, it’s all the pole work,” Sokka said, deadpan.
“Hey Sokka.”
He jumped about a good off his chair. Literally. When he settled back down he realized he’d smacked Aang across the face with one of his rapidly expanding wings.
“Sorry,” came the voice again.
Sokka scrambled around and stared up at Prince Zuko. He was a little pink in the cheeks, his long yellow eyes shimmering in the low light, slit pupils wide and apologetic.
“It’s chill! Or, um, hot! You know, cause…” Sokka trailed off, “…we’re in Hell.”
Aang groaned quietly beside him.
“Yeah, um, I heard it’s been a year for you,” Zuko said, still flustered. “Since the DUI.”
“Uh huh,” it was Sokka’s turn to blush. Crashing the ferry into a stalactice had been a real low point for him. All of those souls gone right into the river, and old Mr. Piandao’s spirit had smacked him around the head with his walking stick. “I’m on the straight and narrow now.”
“The not-so-straight and wide-open-for-it, more like,” Aang muttered. Sokka not-so-accidentally clipped him the trailing edge of a wing as he folded them to his back.
“Oh,” Zuko looked at Aang, his blush deepening. “Um. Donut?” he held out a vanilla glazed to Sokka.
“Those are my favorite,” Sokka said, staring at him.
“Yeah, um, I know,” Zuko was still holding it out.
“Thanks, Sokka said, and accepted the donut. Their fingers brushed and both of them froze.
“Oh my god, this is the pits,” Aang slumped forward in his chair dramatically. “The sexual tension is gonna kill me.”
“Bro!” Sokka snapped at Aang, then smiled ingratiatingly at Zuko. Zuko, looking significantly more at ease now that the donut had changed hands, smiled back shyly.
“So I heard you sometimes give private river tours,” Zuko said slowly, hands twisting in his black silk robes. They were all embroidered with twisting reddish flames and the faces of tortured souls writing in agony. Sokka wanted to tear them off of his body and see if he could make Zuko writhe in–
“Uh huh,” was his very eloquent answer.
“Do you think maybe sometime we could…” Zuko pulled up short as Ozzy finished fussing with the coffee and cleared his throat.
“Saturday night?” Sokka said quickly. “8?”
“Yeah, I’ll meet you on the docks,” Zuko whispered, and hurried to take his seat.
“Awwwwww!” Aang whispered gleefully as the meeting began. “Love at the Afflictions Anonymous meeting,” he clasped his hands ecstatically. “It’s like a romance novel.”
“Yeah, the shitty ones that get burned and sent down here, “Sokka whispered back, but there was no heat in his words.
He had a date with the Prince of Darkness, and he couldn’t wait.

🍎 "Ozzie.. I uh...I know we don't meet often but I think we need to meet to talk about something...your the sin I'm closest to in all the 7 rings and im most comfortable around you..ozzie..so..please.." 🐍
-Lucifer @hells-ringleader
Asmodeus got plenty of texts so when he heard the notification sound he didn't think it was a big deal, but he was just sitting at his desk doing paperwork so grabbed his phone in hopes to get rid of the mind numbness the paperwork at set in, only for his eyes to go wide at seeing a reply from his long dormant message history with Lucifer himself. A bit stunned for a second to be honest.
Tumblr media
Eventually he recovered and clicked on it, reading the message, he didn't know what Lucifer could be talking about, but he was slightly honored at being chosen for this from what he knew. He had missed talking to the Fallen Angel for a long time so he was happy too. Awkwardly typing up a response.
"Hello Luci, it's certainly been a while but sure we can meet, I have nothing urgent, where do you want to meet your majesty?"The sin just kept looking at the conversation afterwards, waiting for a response patiently.

"Fuck me, master~" Rei said very confidently to Ozzie as well as showing off his new outfit. That would wind up on the floor soon enough.
Asmodeus looked over and blushed as he chuckled before smirking, looking over Rei and his outfit, pressing his legs together to try to hide the hardness in his skirt "Well Well Moon Rei, I see your back for more and ready to charm I can see, I like the outfit~ Shows off that chest of yours~"Asmodeus complimented, his tail feathers swaying behind him in interest for the Yokai.

Jack had found a way to sneak into the lust ring, and currently he walked out of a store with neon-colored clothes and shoes specially made in the lust ring—Jack always thought of their clothes as unique and charming from what he'd see on TV! Though being here as a sinner did have a risk as he wasn't supposed to be in here, so...when he walks point, blank range in front of the king of lust, his eyes widened in fear. He could just run, but that seems useless on a powerful deity, or hide...but he's already in front of him. So he offers a limp, meek wave instead, "G-Greetings Sir Asmodeus. It's both a surprise and honor to run into you on this fine day?" Jack asks with a polite curtsy, since he guessed this was the appropriate ettiquite here...right? Maybe he'd mistaken as a resident here? He thinks.
Asmodeus did occasionally just walk around his ring, sporting a stylish raincoat and umbrella due to the rings common rain, he was pretty relaxed so he didn't notice the shorter man, bumping him, snapping him out of it as he stepped back with a surprised expression, a little embarrassed to be honest. Especially when they greeted him all fancy, the sin chuckling awkwardly a bit.
"Heheh well aren't you polite little one~? Your not from around here are you? Your outfit is certainly embracing the style here though. Welcome to Lust~"Asmodeus greeted, curtsying as well, wasn't often someone embraced the neon vibes so extremely. He just thought the sinner was a hellhound to be honest, they resembled all sorts of dog breeds so a golden retriever didn't seem at all strange to the sin.

Wesley stretches as she exits the bathroom, having showered and gotten on some comfy relaxation clothes. Her coat was looking extra fluffy and silky. Of course, she still had a towel around her neck. As much as her fur was a blessing in looks, it was a pain in the ass to completely dry with how thick it was.
"Fuck, nothing beats a nice long shower after a busy day. Did it feel like there was way more patrons at the club today, daddy?" The hellhound would plop down beside the towering figure of the King of Lust, smiling up at him as she cuddled into his side.
@lovebug-pup
Asmodeus was laid out in one of his large couchs . Also recovering from the busy day. Not even just at the club but the factory too. He smiled though at hearing Wesley's voice and feeling her cuddle into his side. One hand then stroking her damp hair softly. "Yes. Valentine's season will do that to intimate establishments like ours. Even worse in pride i hear..."Ozzie relented before looking down at his daughter "You feeling okay Wes?"

It was time for some presents! For Striker; Fizz had send him two letters. One had card which was shaped like a cowboy hat, on the other side was somewhat heart waming thank you letter for him to kidnap the jester, and still bringing him and Blitz back together. The other letter was bit more thicker. It did contain a gift. If you opened it, it turned out to be a glitter bomb mixed up with itching powder. For Chaz; Fizz had never seen the guy, but had some random gifts at his house he decided to deliver in a random address just for fun. There was a letter that said this was from 'Secret Santa'. There was a box which had a small plastic bag with battery inside and a note that said 'Gift not included'. There were also a water bottle and the etiquette said "Melted Snowman". There were also small box of home made gingerbread hearts in the gift box. Too bad those were made by Fizz so they didn't taste as good as they looked. For Robo Fizz; For his robot counterpart Fizz had bought a custom made jester outfit to wear. Not only the outfit but few new pairs of heart shaped shades and a card that said "Merry Sinsmas, hope your next year will be as epic as this one" For Ozzie; This was a gift he had to give him face to face. Fizz was holding a self wrapped package in his hands, with a wide grin on his face. "Merry Sinsmas Ozzie! Hope you like it, if not I'll throw myself out of this building" he was joking tho.. maybe. The gift included custom made bathrobe that were purpleish-blue colored. Ozzie's name was embroided on the back of the bathrobe. There were also some different sented fizzy bathbombs in there.
Striker
The cowboy was quite surprised he got anything from someone who he pointed a gun to last time they saw eachother, and while the cowboy hat shape was a bit on the nose, he supposed it was a thank you either way, which he appreciated despite the odd circumstances of it. With the other letter he felt it over and the powdery contents made him suspicious so the moment he pulled the letter open he covered it with his hat, thankfully saving most of him from the blast, but also covering his favorite hat in glitter and itching powder "SATAN DAMNITT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WASH THIS NOW!? THIS ISN'T FUNNY!!!"Everyone around him heavily disagreed.
Tumblr media
Chaz
Chaz was pleasantly surprised at the random package, chuckling a bit at the battery one, getting the joke and the battery itself came in handy for the TV remote, so he didn't need to stop posing sexily on the couch to change stuff. The water he downed quickly due to his constant need for fluids, not even noticing the label, and same with the Gingerbread cookies, which he quickly regretted not having water right there to wash them down, so he did get up after all.
Tumblr media
Robofizz
The moment he was alone he happily twirled with the outfit held to their chest, giggling, smiling at the letter, quickly trying the outfit to his further pleasure, adjusting them to his likes before putting some of the shades on, doing a selfie with the letter with a grin and posting it with the caption "Right back at you Handsome!" Making sure to at Fizz. Overall a present he really liked., Totally something he will wear a lot.
Tumblr media
Ozzie
"I really do wish you wouldn't joke like that Fizzy, but I'll see it, I'm sure I'll love it anyway". The sin opens the package and unfurls the robe, jaw dropping before he giggles in happiness, slinging it on over his clothes with a smile "Oh this is beautiful Fizzy! You really do spoil me"Ozzie says, spinning around to see how it twirls, chuckling cause he loves it so much, before noticing the Fizzy bath bombs in the package, chuckling before he smirks, tossing one up and grabbing it mid air "Fizzy Bathbombs, cute~ But there's one kind of Fizz I'd want in the bath with me even more, I think you know him~"The sin said, bending down to cup Fizz's face with a warm smile, though with a bit of lewdness to it to. Sin of Lust and all.

Okay so it was April Fools Day, Fizz's favorite day of the year! Because no one, and I mean no one can not get mad over a joke! Fizz was sitting in a room with the queives, hiding from everyone so he could pull this funny joke off. He was typing a message from a new phone number he hadn't shared with anyone.
Tumblr media
Text message to Oz, Striker, Robo and Chaz (everyone gets their separated message)
"Thank you for joining FUN FACTS! With this subscription, we'll send you some of the coolest fun facts Hellwide! To end the description reply with 'STOP' "
Ozzie
As a buisness man and a public figure Ozz's phone dinged constantly, that wasn't to say his number was public, but still, he sighed as he picked up his phone before raising a brow at the message from the random number. He sure didn't actually sign up for this so he just rolled his eyes, thinking it was just a bot trying random numbers and simply replied with 'STOP' in hopes it would cease, still pretty confused. it wouldn't be much use to him, he knew mostly everything there was about Hell.
Tumblr media
Striker
"Oh for fucks sake..."Striker groaned, writing it off as another bot clogging his already messy contact list, angrily typing back "Stop ya wack, how'd you even get this number...?" Awkward with tech as usual, especially in his agitated mood.
Tumblr media
Robofizz
Robo just shrugged, he didn't mind it if it was legit, but he messaged back just in case "You better not be scamming m-me with this, whoever you are~"
Tumblr media
Chaz
Chaz's eyes widened a bit before he typed up a response, he was bored but he didn't like this "I don't remember doing this, uh this isn't a paid subcription right?"
