can i be fr for a minute?? sending abuse to people online for holding different views than you is not activism and in fact actively hurts your cause. most people are not extreme in their viewpoints, you can give them a new perspective if you're willing to spend some time explaining shit. if someone is saying something you disagree with and you rush in there to condescend to them and call them disgusting and subhuman and dont even TRY to explain calmly why their views are harmful, they're going to shut you out instantly and double down on their views.
most people are simply genuinely ignorant to the issues they're talking about - they just pick their views up from the news and the world around them and express opinions because that's what every person does. if you run in there and tell them they're scum for it, what then? if someone does that to you, are you going to think "maybe i should do some research" or are you going to think "this person is an asshole, im blocking them." a lot of you think you're activists and then refuse to do any kind of actual WORK to support your cause.

i mean yeah i think kristen is doing the right thing with trying to present an open-minded front with bobby dawn but i feel like "under the radar" isn't on the table for her when it's a priest of sol. cuz surely everyone in town in that church knows who kristen is and is very familiar with the path she's taken. it doesn't mean she shouldn't try to play nice, it's a great idea, just not sure how far it'll actually get her

hm hm hm i feel like this will be really interesting to read with the knowledge of korra and how that effected her instead.... because korra (from my limited knowledge so i could be talking out my ass here) knew she was the avatar at an early age and DID get that community. she had katara and her parents, she had her mentors, she was isolated from the real world during so and perfected the elements other than air (which i kinda recall her struggling with and how its the opposite element of earth so im excited to see if those kinda play out :3) and she was more eager to be the avatar and the excitement and significance it brought (which was a bit clouded by her being sheltered but also would have been expected more before the war impacted things)
i also remember matty saying kyoshi struggled with earth bending (which im super excited to get to and see/see her journey and how it will differ) but!!! i just think its really fun how theyre kinda off the bat setting up this expectation and new grounding for readers who have a past grasp of the avatar universe. even as someone who isnt super familiar with the lore, i know enough to recognize that oh! thats something new!! so just kudos to the writer(s?) for just setting this up to be something very different and in a natural way :3

i will always advocate for skipping classes btw. to all the high schoolers following me: don't sweat having a perfect attendance record it quite literally does not matter. if anyone tells you good attendance is important for being considered for scholarships they're lying to you. my attendance was fucking abysmal and i was offered several full-ride scholarships because my grades were still solid and that's all 90% of colleges care about.
and besides. taking care of yourself - whether you need a mental health break or you're tired or you just frankly don't want to go to that fucking class - should always take priority! now don't take a page from my book and skip a month and a half's worth of pe classes because you ditched One Time because the coach said he was going to make everyone run a mile that day and then he kept trying to get you to "make up" the mile that you missed so you kinda just stopped showing up until he gave up on you forever like please know that you should go to class regularly BUT.
i think taking time off and leaving early and such needs to be normalized. for school and work. i don't think it's fair to punish people for needing breaks. the human brain is literally not made to sit in the same stifling environments for 8 hours almost every day and just focus on "working" or "studying" and "learning." it's very cruel to deprive young, still developing minds especially of proper breaks and time to Play (not that it's not cruel to do the same to adults)
if the system won't give them to you freely though... well. break the rules a little. you know your limits better than anyone. don't try to work to an impossible standard. rest when you need to!! it's very, very easy to burn yourself out, but it's very, very, very, very difficult to recover from it

To piggyback off the last post I reblogged; I was so engrossed in talking about everything else that I never mentioned how much the Upheaval is never properly explained and makes very little sense, but there you go.
The Upheaval is never properly explained (nor are there explanations being hinted at) and makes very little sense.

hiring managers (and whoever else is in charge of conducting interviews) really have to be some of the dumbest people out there because why do you need to 3 rounds of interviews to figure out whether someone can sit at the front desk and greet people

idk bro it seems like youre the one that doesnt care abt other disabled ppl here? like i just want everyone to be able to go into a store. i want the building to be accessible and the overall environment to be accessible. you just seem to be mad that mentally disabled ppl also have accessibility needs. i know you dont care but like lashing out at other disabled ppl aint gonna fix anything.
@fruity-pebblz babe did you hear? this anon says I hate you and I want you to live in sensory hell forever
due to the fact I want to enter a building, it also means I want it to be as HOSTILE as POSSIBLE to autistics. If I want a functioning elevator, it better be playing loud techno inside of it
that’s totally how reality works and you’re definitely the rational and normal people in this scenario. life is like Pokémon types or whatever the fuck!!! yeah!!!
keep screaming in my inbox you’re so correct and good and definitely Beating Ableism

Incorrect Quote #1 - Bondi Rescue
Joel: Is it hot out here or is it just you?
Jeff: It's you.
Joel: What? *gay panic*
Jeff: What? *even more gay panic*
Meanwhile, Chappo in the background: Jesus fucking Christ, what complete idiots. *just over it all*
