“You named a bee after me.” “For you, Watson, I’d make adjustments. Always.” “I'm so grateful that I fell into your orbit.” “The thing that’s different about me, empirically speaking, is you.” “I'm gonna miss this - not this, but...this. Working with you. I think what you do is amazing.” “I think you have a lot to share if you cared to. I shouldn’t be the only one who knows you.” “I will never allow harm to come to you - not ever. (’You can’t promise that.’) And yet I have.” “I now value the work we do, first and foremost, because I do it with you.” “We're two people who love each other.” “If you go, I go.” “I’m staying.”

Okay ermm im having like such bad artblock issues so have this that ive made like a good amount of days ago instead bc im too lazy to take pics of my sketches???? bulk post incoming insanely soon tho.
Lore ----->
This is Kaedehara Arashi (no I didn't steal the name erm....)
He's part of some random universe I'm making again with one of my friends and his lore is way too extensive to just explain in my post so if you're curious just ask me instead but I'll be going over a few random things um
Everyone in the world has like some sort of power and depending on wether it's socially considered good or bad its called either a blessing or a curse. He has a blessing turned curse called "Kabuki Kaede - Narukamis Curse" (and I've tried my best to do research about what names I'll be giving my characters and their blessings but the internet can only offer so much in terms of cultural information). From what I've been able to gather (i like to give my characters names with symbolism) Kabuki is a dramatic form of japanese theatre, and Kaede basically means red maple (or red maple leaf). Yes, I did steal the Narukami mountain name from genshin BUT IT'S A PLACEHOLDER because I haven't made a map yet. The curse refers to the split he created by accidentally finding his power, creating a long ravine down a meadow. The ravine is now known as Narukamis "canyon".
Tho i did my best with doing some research specifically about the dragon spirit that is so called "kabuki kaede" i know literally nothing about the geography of japan so don't drag me just yet- this is also heavily genshin inspired.
FEEL FREE TO ASK AWAY???

Do you think we could get some info on your version of Killer Moth? I recently saw the picture you did of him and… he looks like a fairy who abandoned all Fae life and went to live the rest of eternity in vacation with the humans. I hope he’s enjoying his vaycay in Gotham
thank you for sending this ask bc i've actually been meaning to draw him again for a while and kept forgetting!
Killer Moth AKA Drury Walker* was a human who moved to Gotham from China** with her family as a teenager. His life was outwardly uneventful until his late 40s, when he took a job as the keeper of Gotham's primary coastal lighthouse after the prior keeper had disappeared under unexplained circumstances. She began to experience strange phenomena surrounding the lighthouse and the island surrounding it that led to him being... influenced... by the "mothlamp" inside of the lightroom. His remaining family lost contact with him shortly thereafter. He is not a malignant presence and has few relevant external compulsions, bar the dedicated collection and display of every possible electric light source available to him. Several persons matching her description have outstanding warrants for arrest across Gotham due to petty theft of various hardware and home improvement stores.
*might change her name at some point? can't come up with one rn though i'm sick as a dog and my cognitive function is at like 25%
**not sure where in China yet, see above

ROUND 2A, MATCH 2 OUT OF 8!
*Includes Grimm Brothers and Charles Perrault tales.
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Cinderella / Aschenputtel / Cendrillon:
I love all Cinderellas but the Grimm version refocuses the story away from magical aid and transforms it into a story of the ability of grief to conversely power hope. ashenputtel weeps over the grave of her dead mother so much a beautiful tree grows out, with the voice of her mother guiding her and giving her the gown and shoes that ultimately get her to the ball. It turns Cinderella from a kind of passive receiver to a woman whose own love, in a way, saves her—her grief cycles into new joys, her love for the dead changes her for a new life. Idk it’s just a tremendously hopeful, haunting story, grounded in sorrow and love as our ways of guiding into the future.
Her slippers aren't made of glass, thankfully. Also, her step-sisters are blinded by birds who like Cinderella, apparently, on the day of the wedding. (I had to check this, as I knew the sisters had parts of their feet cut off to fit the shoe, but I was sure the mother had something bad happen, but there was no mention of a comeuppance for her. I found it on grimmstories.com, so I'm not sure how accurate to the original it is.)
Ye Xian:
Read it in middle school and have been fascinated with it since.

I watched American Born Chinese because the few posts I did find about it were mostly positive and I ended up really loving it! The story telling is very good and the characters are all extremely engaging. The show really does feel like a labor of love by everyone who was a part of it.
I know there’s criticism because of how different it is from the source material but… I honestly don’t care about any of that. No I never read the graphic novel, but I’ve heard negative things about it too, and just generally speaking I’m not a person who usually cares for tv media to be EXACTLY like the media it came from. Sometimes, it’s nice to see characters I love in a new story I haven’t already seen, and I think ABC was made with so much love and consideration and passion for the topics it DID want to handle, and has allowed itself to be something totally it’s own.
I hope this show can push past the usual wave of negativity that’s often pointed at minority lead and created media and find it’s audience, I’m really disappointed by how little visibility it seems to be getting at the moment because I think this show deserves a chance to tell its story all the way through
