Can you make a max verstappen scenario where like an interviewer says something bad about his girlfriend and he like snaps at the interviewer and is protective?

oh yes. yes I can. a part of the mad max universe.

01: INTERVIEWER !

— dark!max. graphic descriptions of violence. fem!merc!reader. sexist/misogynistic comments. petname (sweet girl x1). swearing.

everybody knew that you were something special to max with the way he’d always try and find you. his eyes? always looking around for you and for the first time in a while, your interview post was right next to his — he begged for someone to make it happen, you didn’t need to know that.

it’s the australian grand prix and you’ve just had a nasty dnf, the mclaren of lando norris decided to collide with yours round turn 4, lap 7. but, what can one do, he apologised — even more after max tried ramming lando out of the way to get to you on the way to your interviews — and you calmly accepted it.

you moved on. max didn’t.

“so.. the bad crash with the mercedes of y/n must have proven something to you, no?” max has never looked so confused in his life, you briefly turn to the left, hearing your name mentioned. max turns to you, looking confused.

“uh.. what do you mean?” max’s anger is starting to blossom, you know that feeling he gets all too well. he grips the barrier before the interviewer and visibly clenches his jaw. he doesn’t take well to people talking to you, it makes him feel as if they don’t appreciate you.

“well.. our first dnf in two races and its a woman.” the interviewer is almost bold with the the way he’s talking about you, and then.. it happens.

max hears your gasp, if he was to look at you now he’d see that heartbroken look on your face. he could see the news, “Mad Max! Strikes again and hits interviewer!” the press would have a field day.

so he doesn’t hit anyone, as much as he would love to feel his skull crack beneath the weight of his knuckles— for you, before you, max is a good man.

he bites his tongue for a mere moment, you leave your interview (pissed off yourself), then he snaps. not violently but for enough for the interviewer to know what he’s said is wrong.

“she works fucking hard. a lot harder than anyone gives her credit for. the reason she didn’t finish was because of another driver, so how about you go and ask him what the fuck he was doing?” he all but spits out, slamming his hands onto the barrier, clenching his jaw he storms off.

he finds you in his motor home, body only covered in one of his jumpers, snuggled into the covers.

“oh sweet girl.” he mutters, moving to get into bed with you, kicking his shoes off he places himself behind you.

your about to fall asleep when the last thing you hear sends a shiver down your spine.

“no one will ever talk about you like that again.” his breath heavy and hot on your ear, you can only snuggle back into him.

The Weather

While not in the US, an article from CBC News in Canada offers a look into the upcoming respiratory illness season. Data from Internal Alberta Health Services shows that patients hospitalized with COVID passed 900 and “roughly doubled” in a month. Accurate data are hard to find, however, as the provincial government changed how COVID statistics are reported. Cameron Westhead, second vice-president with United Nurses of Alberta, commented, “This government likes to talk about personal responsibility and making decisions that are best for yourself and your family. But we don’t have the data to make those kinds of decisions.” In addition, an outbreak in the community has the potential to overwhelm hospital systems again. Isolation requirements, PPE needs, and healthcare worker burnout are all major concerns with COVID patients. Rather than stripping healthcare of the precautions we need to control the ongoing pandemic, we must advocate for more support for healthcare workers, masks in healthcare, and acknowledgment of the severity of COVID infections.

Wastewater

We continue to wait for Verily, the organization taking over the National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) contract from Biobot, to provide a readable Nationwide representation of the current wastewater levels. According to WastewaterSCAN, COVID wastewater concentration is medium nationally, apart from high levels in the Northeast. As of October 16, 2023, the national average of wastewater levels is 216.9 PMMoV Normalized. Regionally, the Midwest is 317.0 PMMoV Normalized, the Northeast is 589.82 PMMoV Normalized, the South is 152.3 PMMoV Normalized, and the West is 164.7 PMMoV Normalized. We emphasize that Wastewater SCAN has fewer wastewater sites represented as compared to Biobot. Combined with some other caveats, including the difficulty of interpreting their plots, we remain skeptical of Wastewater SCAN’s data.

The above graphic shows the overall trend for the United States. The y-axis is a scale for the quantity of nucleic acids, PMMoV Normalized (x1 million). While concentrations have been trending downward–with a possible recent uptick–we urge the importance of layers of protection. As the Northern Hemisphere enters winter and many folks celebrate holidays, please protect yourself and others with masking, distancing, clean air, vaccines, and other layers of protection. Vaccines

NPR reports that parents are finding it difficult to find pediatric doses of the new COVID vaccines for their children. The CDC reports that pediatric doses are available, but several factors are limiting their spread. Faulty websites or outdated information from public and private organizations, shipping delays or errors in the number of doses shipped, and issues with public and private insurance all contribute to a lackadaisical approach to public health. Parents are frustrated at the situation and scared for their kids, especially as we enter flu season. We hope that if you haven’t been able to receive an updated 2023-2024 COVID vaccine, you are able to access a dose soon. If you have questions about insurance coverage, visit the KFF information page here. For children covered under state insurance, see information about the Vaccines for Children program. Uninsured adults may receive assistance through the Bridge Access Program. Please note not every pharmacy or clinic participates in this important program.

Long COVID

An article from the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) argues that Long COVID studies in children are lacking. Estimates of prevalence of Long COVID in children range from 1% to 70%. Children may have different experiences with Long COVID from adults, as well as having limited vocabulary to describe their symptoms. Poor study design also contributes to artificially low numbers. Hannah Davis, co-founder of the Patient-Led Research Collaborative, suggests that further studies could use a prepandemic cohort or electronic health record data to serve as controls rather than a cohort defined by negative PCR tests, which could contain false negatives. Additionally, more longitudinal studies are needed. The article highlights a huge range of uncertainty reflecting a lack of research. Children with Long COVID deserve recognition, care, and support.

Reminder to either submit a written comment or register to give an oral comment to the CDC’s HICPAC meeting on November 2-3, 2023. National Nurses United provided some guidance on talking points one can use during the oral comments. You can submit written comments to [email protected] starting November 1, 2023, with the deadline at 11:59 pm on November 6, 2023. To request time for an oral comment during the webcast, submit your request to the oral comment submission form no later than 11:59 p.m., EST, October 23, 2023. As the CDC is poised to weaken protections for patients and healthcare workers, please sign on with National Nurses United and demand the CDC be transparent. At the link, you can fill out a form to send an email to CDC/HICPAC leaders that emphasizes the need to post the updated guidelines in full for public review, make meetings and comments open to the public, and use a science-based approach to aerosol transmission.

Released October 1983 for a price of ¥119,800.

A compact and cheaper version of the original Sharp X1 (CZ-800C), which had been released in November 1982 for a price of ¥155,000 for the main unit and keyboard (¥300,000 if you include the monitor and optional 48 KB of graphics RAM), that integrates the main unit and keyboard together and includes 48 KB of graphics RAM as standard.

With the exception of the now-included graphics RAM, there are no other differences in terms of hardware between the Sharp X1 and Sharp X1C.

no title, just a little thing i wrote up just now bc i had the idea

takes place roughly around book 5-75, replacing the scene where yuu goes to look for grim. mild content warning for an injury but it's not too graphic i dont think

The sky is black and grey with the remains of storm clouds; the streets are glassy like mirrors, made as such by the sudden downpour of rain during the evening and all throughout the night. Reflected in the slick stone tiles is the magical flame from the streetlamps, setting the ground ablaze with harsh light.

Yu pays all of this little mind as he dashes across campus, his sneakers already soaked through the soles. The cold hardly bothers him—it doesn’t stand a chance when his anxiety is already gnawing away at him.

[ x1 Blot Crystal remains at the coliseum. ]

If the blot crystal remains at the Purple Stage, it won’t be found until after the Culture Fair—and if so, it will continue to affect visitors to the end of the event. Yu is far from a saint, but after bearing witness to five separate overblots, he refuses to run any risks.

He has to get to that crystal, and hide it with all the others. And soon.

After what feels like too long, he finally reaches the coliseum. The gates are closed, almost mockingly so, but that’s fine—they’re not too tall, so without too much overthinking, Yu manages to scale them and end up free on the other side. As soon as he does, he pushes his freezing feet and hurries to the stage.

[ Set tracker to find target object? ]

“Yes, please,” mutters Yu, feeling jittery. While he waits for the tracker to activate, he looks around in short, shivering jerks of his head.

[ USER is 10m from Blot Crystal. ]

And so begins the game of hot and cold pursuit—relying on the tracker, Yu searches desperately for the latest blot crystal, even as he has to zip up his pitifully thin jacket and rub his chilled hands together through his gloves. But he refuses to give up, strangely motivated by some reason.

Until he finally finds it.

[ USER is 0m from Blot Crystal. ]

Thank fuck, he thinks, forcing a hand through the foundations of the stage and blindly grabbing until his grip connects with a rock-like object. One numbly painful extrication later, he has the blot crystal in his hands. It’s almost identical to the others, but with a distinct sickeningly saccharine scent, and a violet hue around the edges.

And, disturbingly, it feels warm through Yu’s gloves. No, not warm—warm would describe the feeling of Riddle’s crystal, with the lingering effect of his overpowering fire spells. This feels more like—like—

At the same time that Yu becomes aware of his palm being corroded to rawness, his head is assaulted by an acute feeling of painful dizziness. He gasps and drops the crystal, hearing it sizzle menacingly all the way down, and tears off what remains of his glove. The cold air stings where it touches the now-exposed skin of his palm, an angry red. Veiny lines of black start to stretch outwards from the edges of the corrosion.

[ DEBUFF ACQUIRED — Fairest Poison: -1 HP every second until medical intervention or unconsciousness. Increased dizziness, nausea, and shortness of breathing. ]

[ DEBUFF ACQUIRED — Blot Exposure (Lvl. 2): USER will begin to experience lightheadedness and other symptoms of sickness. Max HP is reduced by 20 points. ]

[ BLOT METER: 30/100 … 38/100 … 46/100 … ]

[ HP: 68/80 … 67/80 … 66/80 … ]

“What the fuck?” asks Yu aloud, because his head hurts too much to think right now. “Why does the crystal have poison on it—oh, who am I kidding, it was V—”

He staggers, losing his sense of balance as pain blooms in his head again. It throbs again, then, so intensely that his vision blacks out for a moment. More and more notifications pop up in his peripheral, but he can’t read what they say.

“Ughh…”

Yu sways dangerously when he tries to take a step forward, losing control of his body for a frankly terrifying amount of seconds. When the coordination partially comes back to him, he tries to continue, but his head hurts even more, and—

Suddenly he’s on his knees. When did that happen?

“Gotta at least… get someone to help,” he mutters, shaking his head to try and clear the dizziness. It doesn’t work. And then, placing his damaged hand on his knee, he tries to stand up but immediately hisses in pain. “Shit—I just need to—”

Out of the corner of his eye flashes the biggest notification so far:

[ WARNING: HP is low. Fainting imminent. ]

“—get outta… here…”

The ground seems to come up to meet him. Yu’s eyes slip shut, and he experiences the peace of one’s senses vanishing.

i just wanted your opinion, what’s the best ace combat game? also, which ones can i play with the ps3? i love jets and this franchise looks great

Hi Anon, appreciate the compliment and birthday message! Didn't catch this one until now.

"Best" has multiple categories, and I haven't played the full range (only most of them) so here's my breakdown:

Best gameplay - 7: Skies Unknown [PS4, X1, PC]. While it might not have anything new in terms of core mechanics, the handling of aircraft and their performance was good, and the implementation of the parts system allowed a little more flexibility and options when it came to aircraft and payload selection.

Best story - 5: Unsung War (Squadron Leader in some regions) [PS2]. Yeah, the writing can be corny at best and disingenuous at worst, and preachy at other points with the anti-war warfighter message, but fuck I still love it. Partly because it's probably one of the first narratives in a game that I actually got pulled into while playing it. Other 'story' games I was playing around that same time I didn't get heavily drawn into, or didn't actually have a deeper story to it (though Tony Hawk's Underground 2's story did make me laugh a lot at the time). 5 was the first game to make me cry (Chopper!) and even to this day I still find myself playing it from time to time, even if I know all the missions back to front and could feasibly speed-run it within a couple hours. One of my all time favourites to this day.

Best graphics - 6: Fires of Liberation [X360]. Hear me out. This game still looks amazing on the 360 (and on the X1 when played with reverse compatibility). I don't think 7 has the same level of smoke persistence and particle effects that 6 had, and it shows. The gameplay feature of multiple "operations" (essentially a mission has multiple objectives within a given mission, and you need to complete a certain number to progress further) allowed me to jet from hot zone to hot zone, and if one of those objectives was a air-to-air, seeing the furball of missile smoke trails and explosions grow as I flew in at Mach 1.2 was nothing short of breathtaking.

That's the first part of your question answered.

As for which one you can get for the PS3? Honestly, your only feasible option would be Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, and that's if you can find a disk copy as I'm pretty sure it's been pulled from all digital stores. But even then, it's an Ace Combat in name only.

Objectively, it's an okay game. As an Ace Combat fan? It's absolute garbage. I think it would've served better if it was called Call of Duty: Aces Above. The story and concept is much more at home as a CoD/BF type game than it ever was as an Ace Combat. If you've played COD4, just take that story and put the characters in fighter jets and you'll be good.

Well, it's not that identical, but fuck, it ticks the checklist of COD4 copies of that time period:

Generic white male military officer that holds high enough rank to have authority but low enough to still see direct action? Check: Colonel William Bishop, field commander of the US contingent of NATO's Task Force 108.

Conflict in some third-world country that has the US involved in interventionary/peacekeeping efforts? Check: US Forces as part of a NATO TF in Africa.

Tense relations between US forces and Russian forces? Russians are also deployed to Africa in the same AO, and while they are alligned with NATO's objectives in the region, it's made explicit that Russia is only there on their own terms.

Internal conflict in Russia results in war breaking out, and US is involved? Yep, ultranationalist forces launch a coup and try to seize control.

Globe trotting across the world in notable cities and locations? Let's see... missions taking place over Miami, Dubai, the Suez Canal, Moscow and Washington DC.

A WMD that is either nuclear or not-a-nuke-but-just-as-devestating? The "Trinity" is a large thermobaric weapon, essentially a scaled down MOAB that the Russians made into a cruise missile.

Russian antagonist with paper-thin justifications for doing what he's doing? Alexi 'Akula' Markov's rampage of revenge against NATO and the US is because his wife was killed in a NATO airstrike during the Bosnian War.

Gratuitous graphics and explosions involving military hardware that costs more than any one of us can ever imagine of seeing? One of the game's marketing taglines was 'make metal bleed'. Need I say more?

Honestly, if you're in a position to? Get a PS4 or X1 and then pick up Ace Combat 7, or get it for PC (and play it with an Xbox or PS controller).
