endless love!
[ID Two drawing collage pages of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. In the first collage, top corner, Wolfwood looks upwards disgruntled with a flushed expression, lying against a pillow, as his hair is being pet by Vash's hand. Next shows Vash and Wolfwood from behind, Wolfwood with his top bare and hickies covers around his nape area. Vash lifts hair away from his nape and asks, "More?" Wolfwood nervously says, "No." Next is a side profile of Vash, his arms around Wolfwood from behind while Wolfwood rests his hands against Vash's arms. Next to this are two smaller drawings; Vash turns to Wolfwood and says repetitively, "Wolfwood, Wolfwood..." Wolfwood, not looking at him, says "What?" He finally turns his head and looks shocked as he exclaims, "So close!" Vash says plainly, "You just noticed?" Below these is a drawing of Vash and Wolfwood sitting together as Vash kisses and hugs him from behind with his right arm around Wolfwood's neck and his left hand around his side. He also has his right leg propped against Wolfwood's knee. Bottom of the page has a comic. Wolfwood looks annoyed, speaking to himself, "Where is that idiot?! Need to get out of town before--" A chat bubble exclaims, "Wolfwood!" The next panel shows Vash running from the townspeople, small text saying "Get him! Vash the stampede!". Wolfwood, mad and about to pull the Punisher off his shoulder, says, "Argh, you fucking dumbass!" Vash exclaims, "Ah, don't!" before pulling Wolfwood into a quick kiss. He then tugs on Wolfwood's collar and says, "There's no need to shoot, just run!" Wolfwood stammers, "R-right..." with a flushed, dumbstruck expression.
Second collage; Top left, Wolfwood spoons Vash in bed, his arms around his chest and the other beneath Vash's head. Vash has his hand on top of Wolfwood's as he sleeps while Wolfwood lies awake. Behind this drawing is faint sketches of Vash's face. In a small panel, Wolfwood hides in Vash's neck as he mumbles to himself "Stop. Stop thinking embarrassing things, Wolfwood..." Beneath this drawing is another of them in bed, Vash now turned to Wolfwood and a hand on his cheek as he kisses him good morning. In a simpler style, Vash wraps an arm tightly around wolfwood with the text "snork mimimi" next to him while Wolfwood says, "We need to get up. Spikey! HEY!" In this corner, there are faint sketches of Vash and Wolfwood; one of them looking at each other; Vash kissing Wolfwood's forehead; Wolfwood saying, "Hand" with an outstretch hand and Vash says "ok" behind a drawing of them holding hands, both turned away from each other shyly. Next is a 4 panel comic. First shows Wolfwood's face getting squished by Vash's hands with the text "squish" around his face. Next, his cheeks are stretched with the text "Chee--" Wolfwood then hits Vash's face with his palm, exclaimining "That hurts!" The last shows Vash on Wolfwood's lap, smiling to himself as he continues to have Wolfwood's face in his hands. Next to this is another comic; A close up of their hands, Vash holding Wolfwood's with both of his. He then kisses the palm of Wolfwood's palm and says, "They're soft!" Wolfwood looks at him with flushed cheeks, "There's no way that's true..." END ID]
#vashwood#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#trigun#trigun maximum#just posting first for now!!! wanted to have these two spreads together grah#ive been weirdly selective when it comes to posting on tumblr but i really need to start dropping everything from twitter/insta onto here...#anyway what is there to say... i like to just draw them being in love and silly. there are so many flavors to vw#and i so happened to really enjoy the intimate sickeningly affectionate aspect of it... lays down...#give these two touch and loved starved selfless individuals the chance to pour their entire being into loving the other....#thoguh in particular i drew these both for wolfwood wednesday (which is everyday to me) so theyre wolfwood centric#i think for some time i was just seeing a lot of work of vash being loved by wolfwood and obviously that makes sense#ww loves that fool so much and will love him two times as much for the love vash refuses to give himself#but i also love wolfwood and desperately needed to see wolfwood being loved so i drew it#bc it goes both ways... i def believe that ww would be adamant about giving affection to vash at first bc vash would hesitate asking#but once he gets comfortable vash's love pours and he'd noticed too that ww avoids getting spoiled affectionately bc of his own issues#vash is. stubborn to me. more so than wolfwood. he will destroy him with love!!!!!!!!!!!#and wolfwood will adjust and get used to it. being loved. loving. steadily but slowly as his days are filled with soft touches and reminders#that he's being handled gently and with care for the first time in a long time#ruporas art

‧₊˚✩彡 moodboard by @myhimbomingi ‧₊˚✩彡
You wouldn’t consider yourself a very romantic person, but your boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day surprise might just change your mind about that.
Tumblr media
You’ve never given a single shit about Valentine’s Day. It’s not so much that you hate it or anything, but rather indifference - you simply couldn’t care less. Just another capitalistic holiday for companies to profit off of, right? Plus, red and pink is simply a godawful color combination. So yeah, you’ve never given a shit.
That is - until you met Wonwoo.
You’ve dated here and there over the years, but nothing ever too serious - all of your partners either turned out to be lousy or the relationships were just bland. So, all of them ended, and you were never too upset about it.
But with Wonwoo, everything is different. You’ve only been dating for three months, but your relationship is the complete opposite of lousy or bland. Wonwoo is warm and loving - squeezing you in his arms and giving you kisses every chance he gets. He is caring and kind - listening to you talk no matter whether you needed to vent or just wanted to infodump about your interests. He is sweet and gentle - leaving you cute notes and surprising you with little gifts just because.
He is also incredibly fucking hot, and an absolute god in the bedroom.
You fucked him on the first date, which is very unlike you, but your chemistry was undeniable and it just happened naturally. That was the best sex you’ve ever had in your life - and every time since then has also been the best sex you’ve ever had in your life. You’d be an absolute fool not to stick around.
And so, Wonwoo became your boyfriend. You’ve always found that term to be a bit juvenile, so historically you’ve just referred to your significant other as your partner. But every time you think about Wonwoo you feel the urge to giggle and kick your feet in the air, so the term boyfriend simply feels right. You’re practically head over heels for the man.
“Ooooo you’re so in love with him,” your best friend teased as you were gushing about your boyfriend for the nth time.
“Oh shut up,” you rolled your eyes as you replied. Maybe you’re a bit jaded from your mediocre past relationships, but the phrase in love is not one you throw around lightly.
But deep down, you know it’s true. You’re in love with Wonwoo.
But you’re not ready to admit that to anybody. So you keep it to yourself. You’ll cross that bridge when you get there.
That day arrives much sooner than you anticipate.
February rolls around. It’s the dead of winter, arguably the most boring time of year. Your mind is preoccupied with the job interview you have coming up, and you’ve been a bit stressed about it. Wonwoo has been nothing but supportive and helpful - giving you advice, offering to help you practice, cleaning your apartment for you of his own free will - and you are more than grateful to have him around.
One particularly cold Saturday morning, you wake up to a text from Wonwoo.
Good morning beautiful! Text me when you’re awake 😊
You smile sleepily as you reply.
Good morning babe 💖 I’m awake!
The chat bubble pops up as he begins to reply immediately.
Great! Can you be ready by 11am? I have a surprise for you 😁
A surprise?
Y/N: Oooh, what kind of surprise? WW: It’s a secret 😉 Y/N: Hmm 🤔 Okay... What should I wear though?  WW: Wear whatever you want, you look cute in everything! Y/N: Hehe okayyyy WW: Perfect, I’ll pick you up at 11! See you soon 😊
You hop out of bed and start to get ready, practically dancing around your apartment. You open your closet and stare at your clothes, trying to decide what to wear - which proves to be hard when you don’t know where you’re going. You end up grabbing the cozy light blue sweater Wonwoo complimented you on when you wore it a couple weeks ago, and a cute pair of jeans to match. You’re putting on your heeled boots when you hear the knockknockknock of somebody at the door. You open the door to see your boyfriend, looking incredibly handsome in his dark coat and black-rimmed glasses. He extends to you a bouquet of a dozen red roses.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” he says with a soft smile.
As you take the bouquet Wonwoo pulls you in for a kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist. As your lips part you look at him, an inquisitive look on your face.
“But it’s not Valentine’s Day yet,” you tell him.
“I know,” he replies as he gives you a little kiss on your nose. “But I couldn’t wait.”
You feel a huge smile color your face.
“So, where are we going?”
The waitress sets a massive plate of the fanciest waffles you’ve ever seen in front of you. You start to salivate at the sight of the fresh berries and cream heaping on top.
A few weeks ago you had casually mentioned the bougie brunch place you’ve always wanted to try, but it was expensive and the wait was always way too long. Turns out Wonwoo immediately called and made a reservation for you two.
You go to dig into your waffles when you notice your boyfriend holding his phone up, taking photos of you.
“Hey! Stop that,” you say as you playfully try to grab his phone.
“What?” he asks innocently. “You just look so pretty.”
He looks at you adoringly. You pout, feigning annoyance, and he snaps another picture - making you laugh. There’s no way you can be mad at him, he’s simply too sweet.
After the decadent meal Wonwoo walks you back to his car, holding your hand, and insists upon opening the car door for you - even helping you take off your coat. It’s silly, but it still makes you feel warm and fuzzy.
Wonwoo starts driving, but in the opposite direction of your home.
“Where are we going now?” you inquire.
“Remember how you said you’ve never been ice skating?”
“Oh god,” you groan. “Can’t wait to make a complete fool of myself.”
“You won’t,” he insists. “You can hold onto me.”
“But you’ve never been ice skating either,” you point out. “How do you know you’re not gonna fall too?”
Wonwoo smiles. “Then we’ll fall together.”
You scoff playfully, but a grin also appears on your face.
Ice skating ends up being a disaster. Neither one of you can stop falling (it doesn’t help that you refuse to stop holding hands, so when one of you falls both of you go down), but you also can’t stop laughing - to the point where your cheeks hurt from smiling so much. You haven’t had fun like this in ages.
You look over at your boyfriend. He is extraordinarily cute right now, his cheeks rosy from the cold air. Wonwoo catches you looking at him and leans over to plant a kiss on your cheek - he then immediately runs into the wall. You let out a giggle - he looks back at you sheepishly.
“Maybe you should pay attention to where you’re going,” you tease as you nudge him with your elbow.
“Hard to do so when my beautiful girlfriend is right next to me, distracting me.” His tone mirrors your playfulness, but the way he’s looking at you - you can tell he means it.
You roll your eyes, but a huge smile lights up your face as you wrap your arm around his, squeezing him tightly.
On the drive back Wonwoo suggests you go to his place, to which you happily agree. Before you enter, he tells you to close your eyes.
“No peeking!” he insists.
“I won’t!” you swear, placing your hands over your eyes.
You walk through the front door and wait in the entryway, resisting peeking as promised. You hear Wonwoo fiddling with things for a minute, and then you hear the opening notes of your favorite album - the sound emanating from his record player.
“Okay, you can look now,” he tells you as he once again is standing right next to you. You remove your hands, opening your eyes to the sight of Wonwoo’s dim apartment - illuminated only by the dozen of freshly-lit candles placed around the living room. In his hands are the biggest box of chocolates you’ve ever seen, and a cute fuzzy teddy bear that’s holding a heart with Be mine embroidered on it.
“Oh my god, you really went all out,” you remark, smiling from ear to ear as your heart practically flutters in your chest.
“Only the best for you, babe.”
He sets down the chocolates and the bear, stopping to help you out of your coat before drawing you into his embrace, kissing you softly and slowly. He then takes your hands in his, pulling you toward the hallway.
“There’s one more surprise,” he tells you.
Before you can ask him what more he could possibly surprise you with, you see the trail of rose petals down the hallway, leading into his bedroom.
“You did NOT,” you exclaim as you laugh, truly bewildered at the sight of it.
You follow the trail as he pulls you into his room, where even more petals lay on the bed, perfectly forming the shape of a heart.
“It’s so beautiful I almost don’t want to ruin it,” you proclaim.
Wonwoo raises his eyebrow at you.
“Hey, I said almost.”
Without a word he smiles, pulling you in so he can grab the hem of your sweater, gently pulling it over your head to reveal the lacy bra you had chosen to wear today.
“So pretty,” he remarks as he runs his hands over your breasts, before reaching around your back to undo the clasp. “But even prettier without.”
He tosses the bra aside, taking your tits in his hands. You begin to undo his shirt buttons, revealing his incredibly toned body that still turns you on so much every time you see it. His shirt gone, you move to his belt. You unbuckle it and pull it off, throwing it to the floor as you take the bulge in his pants in your palm. He lets out a soft groan as you caress him, his erection quickly growing. You go to unfasten his pants, the taut fabric giving way as you undo the zipper, his cock now bulging through his underwear, begging to escape.
Wonwoo suddenly grabs you by the hips, twirling you around and pushing you onto the bed.
“Get comfy, babe.”
As you recline into the soft pillows, he removes his pants and then begins to take off yours, pulling them off of you in one go. He gently pushes your inner thighs open and situates himself right in between your legs, the only barrier between his face and your cunt being the thin lacy underwear that do nothing to hide how wet you are right now. He softly kisses your clit a few times, then licks a stripe over the sheer fabric. You run your hand through his hair as he starts kissing your clit again, this time more intensely. You begin to squirm slightly against his face - silently begging for more. Wonwoo gazes up at you, giving you a little smirk as his lips hover right above you - so close that you feel breath against your core.
“Stop teasing meeee,” you whine.
You feel his finger slide under the fabric, pulling it aside to reveal your soaked center. You feel the sharpness of the cool air hitting you, followed by the warmth of Wonwoo’s mouth against your cunt. You mewl softly as his tongue traces against your folds, lapping up your juices but only making you wetter in the process. You continue to stroke his hair as he goes down on you, enjoying the view. You love the way his nose brushes against your clit as he alternates between sucking on the bud and fucking you with his tongue.
Eventually you feel his fingers delicately graze your entrance - he inserts only one finger at first, but it still feels so good.
“More,” you beg. “Please.”
Wonwoo slides a second finger into your cunt. He knows how to curve them perfectly, hitting you in just the right spot to drive you insane. He fucks you as he continues licking your clit - you become a moaning mess as your orgasm draws closer and closer. Your hips begin to buck involuntarily, grinding your cunt against his face - overwhelmed with pleasure. Wonwoo wraps his arms around your thighs, holding you down against the bed as he devours you.
“Fuck, baby - I’m cumming,” you cry out. Your legs shake as the incredible sensation takes over your entire body, the white-hot flashes of pleasure flowing through you as your pussy throbs against your boyfriend’s tongue.
As you come down, Wonwoo gives you soft little kitten licks. You sink into the pillows, your whole body relaxed in bliss. He kisses your stomach before crawling up, his body weight laying against you cozily as he presses his nose against yours. He kisses you, his lips and chin covered in your juices. You begin to make out, his tongue moving against yours, his bulge pressing against your core. You reach down, slipping your hand through the band of his underwear, and pull his cock out. You’ve fucked your boyfriend countless times by now, but every time you’re still in awe of his size. You wrap your hand around his thickness and stroke him a few times, causing precum to leak out. You guide his tip to your entrance - you moan as it easily slips in, his size stretching you out so perfectly. He slides his entire length into you, letting out a groan as he bottoms out.
“Your pussy’s so perfect for me, babe,” he says in a low voice. He begins to fuck you, slowly pushing his cock in and out, letting your walls adjust to his size.
“So good baby, fuck,” he says, practically growling. “Your pussy’s all mine.”
You moan as he picks up speed, thrusting his huge cock into you further and further. His lips meet yours again - your mouths and tongues dancing against each other as he fucks you, more passionately than ever before.
“All mine, you’re all mine.”
“Oh my god,” you cry, tears forming in your eyes from the intense pleasure. “Fuck, you feel so good.”
“I’m close baby - wanna cum in you,” he groans.
“Please,” you beg.
Wonwoo’s rhythm picks up speed - tears are fully running down your face as you let out cries of pleasure. You feel his cock pulsate against your walls as he releases, groaning as he thrusts into you, filling you up with his cum.
As he comes down from his high, his warm body melts into yours - he’s squishing you, but you’ve never been more comfortable. His cock still inside you, he plays with your hair as he kisses you slowly.
You lay there together for a while. Eventually, Wonwoo slowly pulls out of you, giving you a kiss on the cheek before he gets up to grab a warm towel. After he cleans you up he plops back into bed, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in, squeezing you so tightly it makes you giggle.
You draw your head back just enough so you can look your boyfriend in the eyes. He’s so hot, so cute, gazing at you so lovingly - you truly don’t think you’ve ever been happier than you are in this moment.
“I love you,” you tell him - for the first time.
You didn’t plan on saying it, it just came out naturally. Because it’s true - you love him, more than you’ve ever loved anyone.
Wonwoo smiles, caressing you softly as he holds you warmly against him.
“I love you too.”

conveying how much you love them isnt easy but seeing two idiots do it is hilarious. you have dantes whos been here right from the start, living in their shadow, making coffee, saying the most vaguest things when he just wants you to spend time with him. he loves you and is the GREATEST motivator you have since you have to move forward. and then because of the wall barring his accomplice from reaching their destination, his first solution is to implement prison tower with a dose of killing everyone you love, getting betrayed by everyone you love and pushing you to become bloodthristy enough to understand an almost impossible existence that should normally NOT be summoned due to its nature but this weak ass human loved them for who they are and they all got attached to each other lol.
then theres this bug. he cares about this human too. walking in between the borders of life and death, dream and reality, their battered heart irreversible from how its journey has changed it. he may not have known them for as long as dantes, his understanding of their feelings got him closer to guda's heart almost in an instant because he saw their mask through.
then after seeing what dantes pulled, oberon basically did the same except he had less control of the dream/psyche and just had this flimsy yet sincerely kind plan of guda having fun forever playing soccer in their dream considering what they just went through (even if the way he did it was...... EXTREMELY weird..) like... oberon wanted guda to rest- he HAS them rest forcibly at that!!!!!!
and its implied because the implications of Id-aftermath must have exhausted them down to the bone to the point that oberon pulled this shit on april fools ww and he's even going so far as to tell guda to just lay the blame on him and guda could just be stress free and relaxed augh this bug....
(he did get forcibly be 'oberto hongou' bc guda's mind are just insane in many levels😂 yet he still played his role all the way to the end bc he cares for this stupid human hrdfjkgkjh)

What if all three (WW, TP, OOT) Ganondorfs were yandere for reader?
All at once? Ok so I have an idea for this.
Windwaker Ganondorf is, on the surface, the most calm out of all of them. He will pull you aside when the other two fight. When you need space away from the chaos that can come from being around not one, not two, but three war lords he’ll arrange time for just the two of you. Offering a safe haven to unwind. Offering you the tie necessary to keep your wellness in check and to make you associate him with safety. Now whenever you think about someone to protect you'll think of him and make your way over.
He doesn't mind the way the other two fight each other. Even if seeing them with you drives him up the wall hi- in retrospect- handles it better than the others. He's patient. He waited under the waves of the ocean for his plan to fall into motion. He can wait longer for you to come to him willingly when you tire of the others. Leaving those two to fight while he runs off with you suits him better. It means there's less favourable visits to the dungeons when you try to escape because he doesn't always have you when he wants but he has you when he needs it.
He doesn't give chase either when the others show up. His era allows him to take the upperhand, but he chooses not to use it. These three can't play nice forever and when it all breaks apart- because mind you it will somehow someway- he will be the only one left for you to turn to. He gave you relative peace, and sure he isn't a normal man to court by any means; but it's more than what you were getting. This only doubles after OoT and TP Ganondorf turn into Ganons. After that he's the only one whose mind isn't twisted by the triforce of power.
His Hyrule is an ocean. No one can cross it without a boat and knowledge of the sea. He holds the upperhand in defending his fortress and in keeping you stuck by his side. What are you going to do, leave? Where would you get a boat, the knowledge to use it, the supplies? Oh you might be able to and when you do he lets you get as far as you can go. Either when your supplies run out or if you're lucky enough when you come to an island before he sends the Hemlock king to pick you back up.
TP Ganondorf is a mastermind much like OoT Ganondorf. They both attempted an insurgence on the royal family to make their goals easier. This takes a lot of time and effort. Both of them have such a blast trying to open up and outdo each other. However the way they go about their schemes is where it gets interesting. Twilight Ganondorf used a puppet and did not reveal himself. He spent a lot of effort to not be seen as the main culprit and it marks him as someone who prefers his workings to stay entirely in the shadows. He likes to keep his secrets and it makes him feel less miserable to know that no one can tell what he's up to. Evenwhen it comes to you, part of why he loves you so much is how much of a soft spot he has for you. Even if he appears more upset and like a classic male tsundere he has a soft spot a mile wide and will allow you space- assuming that space is still in the same room as him.
This Ganondorf takes his time to court you but the entire time he's planning for a violent takeover. Should one of the others try anything he has about six different plans to take you back and keep you by his side. The moment one of them even tries to take you away he's ready to bring the axe down. He doesn't necessarily want for this to fall through but it's impossible to keep track of you if the other two are planning something. If he loses you he loses everything so it must not happen.
Violent outbursts against the enemy are in toe for Ganon but TP prides himself on being able to keep a calm demeanour. Let the others make fools of themselves while he keeps his mind intact. His goal is to keep you no matter how extreme his methods may seem. By pure numbers he can overpower his enemies should they try anything. He has more troops. His efforts in the twilight allow him to negate the needs for soldiers of the humane kind. They may not be the most caring creatures to take with protecting you- his way of enforcing the rules- but they work well.
Zant can play babysitter when he's not busy enjoying his new seat in the castle. He doesn't see the other two as viable threats and he doesn't want to turn against them but he's prepared to do anything to keep you by his side.
OoT Ganondorf came around at a time where Hyrule was overcome with tragedy. The land had just recovered from the civil war and he was able to take advantage of their weakened state to get right into the castle. At the heart of it all he staked his claim and stayed there until the princess and hero made a fatal mistake.
He doesn't care about the chaos the other two partake in. His main interest is courting and wooing you. While the malevolent guide through rocky weather and megalomaniac are both forming their own plans he is amusing himself with your company. Buying you expensive clothes and jewellery as bait to get you to dress how he wants.
His time spent in the company of Hyrules other knights is draining. He hates spending all his time with the enemy and along with your company the only thing to keep him sane is distracting himself with planning for Hyrules demise. His two greatest enemies are children and bureaucracy and he is not having a good time with all of it. After Links failure to draw the sword that leaves him with seven full years to court you. To treat you like the royalty you are.
I think that all three of them have the same tendencies, Tp and WW Ganondorfs will still try to court you and give you gifts but this is what I think those three lean towards to win you over. Windwaker sees himself as older and more calm than the other two willing to give you space and a well needed break. Spending time by the sea was the cure for many mental ailments back in the day after all. Maybe all you could use is some salty air.
Twilight princess Ganondorf sees himself as smarter than those who would oppose him. He knows he has the power and might to keep you by any means necessary. If you try to run, getting you back is as easy as sending an argorok to pick you up. Keeping others away is simple when you have so many powerful beasts from the twilight ready to open up portals at your call.
Then the last is honestly not too worried about you getting away. He has the money, political ties, and suave to charm you into his open arms. Once you realise it's already too late and he is quite the madman it's far too late as you're already trapped- but at least the gifts are nice.
All three dabble in shared behaviours but this is what they would lean into the most if that makes sense. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I have! I've been in a real Ganon kick recently so this was sweet

A/N: Thank you to the anon who sent in this request! I hope this is something along the lines of what you wanted, and if no one is yelling at my after reading this are you even human?
Tumblr media
Your romance with Wally was anything but slow, but that came with the territory of loving a speedster let alone the fastest person alive. You knew from the moment you met that he was going to be a part of the rest of your life, and you hoped that it would be in a good way. It was no secret that Wally West was famous with the ladies, he was as smooth as he was fast and his words had you stumbling for a response.
What was once just simple flirting, turned into tense training sessions filled to the brim with sexual tension. It got to the point that the rest of the Titans could see your obvious attraction to each other but Dick knew your past.
In fact, he was the only one who knew it.
You had a dark past, one that you weren’t proud of and was actively trying to leave it behind. Deadshot had made you a lethal weapon someone who could shoot a target from hundreds of yards away and hit your mark perfectly. That kind of skill got you noticed, and not in a good way. It was what led the Titans to you in the first place.
Deadshot had brought you along to make you see that the Titans were really just what he said, a bunch of kids who had no idea what they were doing. But to you, they were anything but. He had ordered you to take them out one by one, and that’s what you planned on doing before you were interrupted.
Your first bullet didn’t hit its intended mark, instead, it landed in the shoulder of The Flash because you were knocked over by a blur of blue and black. Nightwing had stopped you from killing his best friend that day, and The Flash never even knew about it.
The mask you wore hid your face from him, so he couldn’t see what you looked like but with one well-placed hit, he caught a glimpse of just how young you were. It stopped him in his tracks, Deadshot had brought a girl no younger than he was to murder them for him.
Nightwing had tried to make you see sense, convince you that Deadshot only had his intentions in mind and cared nothing about you. With how young and naïve you were, you refused to believe him until you were captured and he left you there to take the blame.
For someone you thought you trusted, it hurt when he disappeared from sight as you yelled for him to get you out.
Nightwing gave you an option, you could join them on the team or go to jail. Considering the better of the two options, you joined the team. Dick, as you had come to know him, gave you a new background that you needed to fool the rest of your team into thinking that you were who you said you were.
Now here you were months later passionately in love with the very same speedster that you had almost killed.
Looking over at him while he slept, you could count the freckles that decorated Wally’s face. His brilliant green eyes were hidden by his closed lids with his bright red hair spread out across your pillows. Your naked form was pressed into his side as he held you close to him in his sleep. You had never felt like this about anyone before and it scared you that you cared so much about him.
Deadshot was still out there, and he knew who you were. If you were to run into him again, there was no guarantee that he would not try to ruin the new life you had tried to build for yourself.
Wally rolled and pulled you on top of him with a groan, a soft smile on his lips. Slowly, you leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to the not wanting to wake him. But it seemed that he already was.
Feeling your lips on his, Wally’s grip on your waist tightened as he cupped your face and fully kissed you. For someone who was dead asleep only moments ago, he seemed to be very awake with the way he was kissing you.
Your free hand tangled itself into his hair, tugging it every so often causing him to let out soft groans that you loved so much.
“Hey babe, what’s got you up at this hour?” he asked, his voice filled with sleep.
You giggled and looked down at him, your hair framing your face. “I could say the same about you handsome.” You teased, brushing his bangs back.
“I was dreaming about the most beautiful girl I know, only to realize that while I dreamt of her, she was pressed against me in reality. I couldn’t pass that up.” He grinned, holding your waist. “Now, what’s keeping you up beautiful?”
You blushed at his pet name for you. “Just thinking about when Dick-“ you didn’t even get the rest of the sentence out before Wally’s face changed to a dangerous smirk.
“You mean to tell me that you are in bed with me naked, and you are thinking about my best friend?” he asked sliding his hands up your sides.
You scoffed and hit his shoulder with a laugh. “Wallace West! If you let me finish you would know that it was about when Dick brought me here to meet all of you.” You giggled, watching Wally look you over as his hand ran over your bare body.
“I remember that day too, the moment you showed up I knew that I had to have you no matter what.” He started. “It’s weird though, Dick told me that I shouldn’t get involved with you but I couldn’t be gladder that I ignored him.”
Hearing his words, your mood dropped but you refused to let your smile change. Dick didn’t approve of your relationship? That was news to you, but if you were honest with yourself you weren’t surprised. Dick was the only one who knew of your true past, he just wanted to keep his best friend safe. But he had to have known that there was nothing you would ever do to hurt Wally.
Wally noticed that you were quiet for a long minute, and his eyes filled with concern. “Y/N, babe, you alright?” he asked as he forced himself to sit up with you still straddling his lap. His large hands held your hips as he looked you over to make sure that you were alright. “Are you bothered that Dick said that?”
Quickly you shook your head and placed a kiss on his forehead before leaning yours on his shoulder. “it’s not that, I’m just really glad that I met you, Wally.”
He wrapped his arms around you and held you close to comfort you. Laying back down, the two of you drifted off to sleep while you thought of confronting Dick about what he had said to Wally about staying away from you.
The confrontation with Dick didn’t happen for another few days. He was stuck in Blüdhaven working on a case and the day he got back was when there was a threat on Jump City. Within no time, you and the rest of the Titans were suited up and ready to go. Wally gave you one final kiss before he sped out the door to head off your adversary and you ran across the roofs with Dick and Roy. Donna flew above you with Garth taking the waves from the harbor with him.
Dick could tell that there was something off with you but it was placed on the back burner when he was bolts of lightning streak across the city as Wally fended off the city as he waited for the rest of his team.
“Hey Flash, any sign on who it is?” Nightwing asked.
“It’s our favorite sharpshooter here Rob, Deadshot is back in town and he seems pissed.” Flash’s voice sounded through the com system.
The look you and Nightwing shared didn’t ease your nerves at all. Deadshot was back in town, and he was most likely looking for you.
“What’s the plan Nightwing?” Donna asked as she flew above.
“Flash, Garth and Donna, you three distract him so Arsenal, Barrage, and I try and get in close to take him out. If we play this right, we can finally put him away after months of tracking him down.”
There was a murmur of agreement as Donna and Garth shot ahead to give Flash the assistance he needed It didn’t take long for you and the other two to arrive, but the second Deadshot saw you, you swore he smiled.
Pulling out a rifle of your own, you set up in a hidden location so you could try and get a good view and possibly a few good shots in at him. The man who made you a killer was not going to get away with it this time.
The battle raged on for what seemed like hours, but finally, with a combined effort of you, Nightwing and Flash Deadshot was finally down for the count. But that didn’t stop him from talking.
“Barrage you said your name was? You remind me an awful lot about my last partner Deadeye, the last time I saw her was here in this city. Any idea where I could find her?” he asked.
Before the others could ask, you punched him hard enough that his nose broke and a couple of his teeth chipped. Giving the others the signal that you were heading back early, you disappeared down the street leaving a very confused Wally and a frowning Dick.
The second you got back to the tower, you showered and grabbed a snack from the kitchen. Moments after you grabbed a bowl of food, you felt a rush of air beside you. Within seconds, Wally placed a kiss on your lips, took a bite of your food, and promised to “be back in a flash” before zooming off to the shower and dressed.
One by one the others filtered in with Dick being the last one. His gaze went to you immediately and you followed him to the training room. Dick shut the door and stood with his arms crossed as he watched you walk towards him.
“I know you have questions, but I have a few of my own bird brain. First of all, who the fuck gave you permission to tell Wally to stay away from me when I first got here? Isn’t that a choice to be made by us, not you? I would never hurt him like that, you of all people should know this!” you snapped at him, poking him in the chest.
“Yeah, I of all people also know where you really came from. What’s he going to think when he and the others find out that you were Deadeye and almost killed us only a few months ago? I’m thinking of more than just you; I’m thinking about the entire team.” he snapped.
“I left Deadeye behind before I ever fell for him! If I was going to hurt him, I would have done it already. But what about you? How are you going to tell your best friend that you lied to him about his girlfriend? I am not the only one at fault here and if I go down, I am dragging you with me, Richard Grayson.”
You were going to say more but you caught the expression on Dick’s face. He was staring at something behind you, and you had a bad feeling about what it was. Turning on your heel, you saw Wally standing there with a look of shock on his face with the apple he was eating long forgotten about.
“Y/N, Dick, what the hell is going on?” he asked slowly.
“Walls-“ Dick started towards him only for Wally to back away and shake his head.
“Don’t, I want the truth.” He said sternly. “The whole truth.”
You dropped your head and took a deep breath. “I haven’t been exactly honest with you about who I am. I wasn’t always Barrage; I was Deadeye Deadshot’s apprentice.” You said slowly.
Wally’s eyes shifted between you and Dick. “You knew, you both knew and kept it from me?” he asked.
The look on both yours and Dick’s faces said it all. The two people he loved most in the world lied to his face about who you were and it hurt him more than that bullet wound you had apparently given him.
Dick moved to step towards his friend once again only for Wally to shoot him a glare. “I want to hear what she has to say, not you.” He snapped, only for Dick to drop his head and leave the room for the two of you to try and talk things out.
The silence that fell over you was deafening and it seemed that the tension was choking you. You loved Wally, you loved him more than anything but the way he was looking at you broke your heart. He trusted you with everything, including his secret identity only to find out that you had tried to kill them only months before was a shock.
He was the first to break the silence, “How long have you been lying to me?” he asked. The lack of response only told him that it had been from the beginning.
“I wanted to tell you Red, I really did. But I knew that if I was honest about who I was, none of you would have trusted me. Floyd left me on that rooftop knowing what could have happened to me, and Dick decided that I deserved a second chance. So, with his help, I came up with a new past and joined the team.” You explained.
Wally stood there quietly and listened. “So, you thought that lying to a whole team who trusted you was a good idea?” he asked.
“Wally, would you have trusted me if I told the truth? Would we be what we are if I was honest?”
“Dick warned me about this.” He said softly, looking at the floor.
“About what?”
Wally’s green eyes finally met your own after almost ten minutes of avoiding your gaze and you could see the heartbreak hidden behind the traces of his anger and betrayal. “You.”
His words cut you deeply, Wally’s opinion of you was the only one you actually cared about and you could see it changing in front of your eyes.
“Red please,” you begged stepping closer to him. “We can work this out, I don’t want to lose you.”
Wally shook his head, pulling his hands away before you could take them in your own the term for endearment you had for him leaving a bad taste in his mouth. “You and I both know that you lost me the second you decided to lie to me and the rest of the team.” He turned around and quickly walked out of the training room avoiding his best friend that stood right outside the door.
The gravity of the situation was crushing you, what else were you supposed to do? Wally had just broken up with you and was likely going to tell the team that you and Dick had been lying to them. So, you did the only thing left for you to do.
Before Dick could ask questions or express the guilt he felt, you darted out of the training room and ran to yours and packed. Within half an hour your stuff was packed into two duffel bags and you dashed for the elevator.
The last thing you saw before the doors closed was the look on Wally’s face before you left Titans Tower, never wanting to come back.

I'm with you on how terrible we found Fantastic Beasts. Now let me ask, how would you have written/built the Fantastic Beasts storyline?
I have not watched the 3rd movie so it’s possible that they have managed to turn it all around, but to start with I would give some actual connection to the movies beyond the title and characters. Otherwise it just feels like those children books: “X goes to the park”, “X in the supermarket”, where we see the same people in different situations but they are disconnected from each other.
I probably would have gone a different route all together, but suppose Warner has already hired the actors and started building the sets so we must use at least some elements from the movies. In that case I would make a story of discovery and reflection in three parts, with narcissism being the main theme.
First movie
Newt goes to NY with his magical bag. Most of the film is the same, but we get a sense of Newt being less childish (less painfully obvious and thinly surreptitious wand waving around muggles) and a bit more selfish. However, we should like him more for it.
Newt is, to the society of the time, completely mental. Rather than going on hunts and collecting trophies, he is recuing animals! I would emphasize that the animals he keeps have been compromised and can’t be safely returned to their habitats and since conditions and wizarding zoos are deplorable, he keeps them with him. The exception is that thunder bird he has come to release.
And that’s his goal, releasing the thunder bird, which he pursues with extreme focus. He doesn’t care about anything else which is why he is so open to Jacob the Muggle. Newt could be imprisoned* and Jacob would be obliviated into a stupor, but Newt doesn’t care about personal risks so he doesn’t care about the danger he poses to others. He is selfish that way. A generous kind of selfishness, sure, but dangerous.
I’m sorry, but the President of the MACUSA is not a woman nor a POC. It must be a white man surrounded by white men, one of whom might be either Catholic or Jewish and that’s all the diversity you see. Are there POC wizards? Yes. But not in positions of power. There is a bigger emphasis on the separation of wizards and No-Maj, with waaay more surveillance and harsher punishments. Suspicion alone may be enough to break your wand in some cases.
* And that’s how I could believe that POC wizards and witches (WWs from now on because “magicals” sounds weird) aren’t intervening in muggle spaces. They must be suffering similar levels of racism. They are tolerated, maybe they have better prospects that POC muggles, but that’s it. I can’t believe none of them would show some solidarity to the Non-Maj, unless it meant being summarily executed.
(Oh, and there would be this scene in which we see law-abiding and conscientious Tina stalking the house of an African-American muggle family. Nothing is said of it, other that Tina used to work with a muggle-born partner but now she works alone. Keen-eyed viewers will notice some hoodo trinkets in Tina’s flat, and a photograph of Tina with an African American woman, and then we will know).
I don’t remember Credence’s storyline very well, but it doesn’t matter. What is important is that Graves (powerful white man Graves) develops some sort of empathy. He doesn’t want it, but it’s there in his heart now. Maybe something with Newt’s animals. Some “beast” (look at how they say beasts and not animals) should have maimed and eaten Graves, but doesn’t because Newt is there in all his animal-loving glory. Graves gets to see the monster as merely a scared and hurt animal and learns to treat others with some decency and kindness.
That would be a nice classic movie, (prejudiced man gets over himself), but we can’t end it here. I would even allow for Tina’s scene stalking the house to be cut in order to have time for the climax: the moment when Graves realizes his society and his government may not always be right and defies direct orders by helping Credence. As I said, I don’t remember what the deal with Credence was, but Graves fixes it. There will be a personal cost to his career, but losing a promotion is nothing compared to saving a life, which is what he does. No ambiguous explosion or cloud of smoke. Credence is evidently and irrevocably safe at the cost of Graves being demoted.
There is no Gellert Grindelwald whatsoever, except maybe some government secretary mentioning they like that guy from Europe.
Second movie
Set in London rather than Paris. Newt receives the visit from a lovely, lovely, gentleman who, as it turns out, doesn’t think Newt is a fool. The charming gentleman asks Newt about the dragons, specifically the ones in Gringotts and oh, oh, Newt is against it. It’s abominable and unethical. But Newt would rather not think too much about it because, what can he do? He would rather focus on helping those he can and on spreading his thoughts on animal conservation. He is publishing a journal, although he admits it doesn’t do too well. He has twelve subscribers and seven of them openly mock his papers during dinner parties.
The charming gentleman says, but what if Newt could do something about it? What would Newt be willing to do? Would he break the law?
Newt laughs. He is forbidden from leaving the country. He is no stranger to jumping, crossing, tampering or breaking the law.
Marvelous! The charming gentleman reveals that he, like Newt, is unhappy with their society. It is weak and corrupt* and someone must do something about it. They have to fix it.
So the charming gentleman introduces Newt to some other like-minded friends and together they plan a heist to get into Gringotts and release the dragons. It is time to build a society one can feel proud of!
We get the heist, which is clever and delightful. The charming gentleman is brave, smart and powerful with his magic. There is a moment when some of the co-conspirators, and even the charming gentleman himself, get inside some vaults. This is not what they had planned! Not at all. But the charming gentleman assures Newt that he has good reasons.
They get out. And here comes the Nagini moment. Meaning I really, really, really, don’t need to see an Asian woman condemned to whatever that was in the second movie. I don’t need to have beautiful Neville kill a woman who has been turned into a snake and then a Horcrux.
But, do you want an “oh no” moment? Here it comes.
Because of the heist, Gringotts revises their security measures. That poor dragon in Deathly Hallows? The one with scars who had been conditioned to fear a certain sound? Newt’s fault. And the charming gentleman doesn’t care.
We have established in the previous movie that Newt is somewhat selfish and short-sighted. He rejects his society and cares only about his animals which is very nice. Newt is well intentioned, but that is not enough. Not caring about politics is the privilege of those in the elite (and despite Newts’ eccentricities he is very much the elite). The previous movie had Graves’ awakening. The man discovering something about himself in this movie is Newt.
Newt realizes that he must be an active participant in society. Sadly, he only realizes it after he has helped Gellert Grindelwald steal a number of very important artefacts as well as some gold to fund his project to reform Europe.
The epilogue of the movie has Albus Dumbledore visiting Newt, telling him not to be too hard on himself because he, Dumbledore, also fell for Gellert lies. And if Newt wants to do something about it, Dumbledore has some ideas.
* History fans might not realize immediately, but hopefully they will catch on the fact that all of the beautiful arguments from the charming gentleman are about weakness of the state, which is a common fascist trope.
Third movie
In which characters from previous movies are brought back without having to completely destroy their personalities.
Graves is in Europe and he pays a visit to Newt to ask for his help. Graves is using his new found empathy (that he didn’t want) to investigate a series of highly suspicious murders and incidents. The victims were all Latinas so it was dismissed, but Graves thinks there is something.
Two scenes later in comes Tina, who has quitted her job in order to track the murderer of some friend’s friend. An African American child is dead, no it was not the No-Maj, it was someone else, someone who wanted to cover their tracks and leave no witnesses and Tina is going to eat their heart.
Is it possible that Graves and Tina are after the same person? Yes and no. It is two different henchmen but Dumbledore has no trouble going beyond the small picture to see the pattern. He knows Grindelwald always had an interest in powerful artefacts, not just the Deathly Hallows.
Grindelwald has stolen the Macguffin, a powerful artefact belonging to a Latin-American community. With that and the Elder Wand he will be unstoppable. Oh no!
But! Newt realizes there is something missing. The raven is not a symbol of death in all cultures. Grindelwald might not fully understand what he has taken or how to use it.
So Graves and Tina go fight Grindelwald’s organization and be awesome together, delaying Grindelwald’s big coup. Meanwhile, Newt illegally leaves the country, goes back to NY, takes Queenie and deploys her. Because Queenie is nice. She plays the vapid pretty woman, but she is above all nice and if someone can make a hurt and distrustful community open their door to strangers, it is going to be Queenie with the help of Jacob’s bread.
And, indeed! They succeed. The bruja Latina explains about the Macguffin. Grildelwald doesn’t understand what he has stolen. It is not meant to be used like that at all.
They go back to Europe quickly, Newt relays this information to Dumbledore and he steps to his duel with Grindelwald armed with the knowledge and insight that comes from showing some measure of respect to other people for once.
(And if it seems that Dumbledore’s victory rests on other people’s work, well, Dumbledore’s main trait is his ability to earn people’s trust and devotion. But I guess Newt and Queenie could have brought the bruja with them and after a nice chat with Dumbledore she agrees to share their secrets with him, so he has the opportunity to show he is different).
Rather than having a man realize something, this movie is about the consequences of not opening your eyes: Gindelwald’s fall. It would also nicely establish Dumbledore’s best manipulative traits. If we must have het couples, Tina saves Newt’s from some mook and taker a kiss. Graves goes with the pretty Lestrange, I guess, to have a long life of morality sanctioned crimes.
(A TV show. Twelve episodes. Cancelled after the first season. Graves and Lestrange are back in the States helping oppressed communities and dodging the MACUSA and whatever the equivalent of the FBI was back then).

I love your blog and especially reading your metas. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how things could have ended if we had Political!Jon and I thought you would be one of the people to ask. I can picture him pretending to bend the knee so he can get Dany’s help during the fight against the dead...but then like what happens after? In the show, they fucked up and made him completely loyal to her (up until the end) when it could have been so interesting. Would he have betrayed her before going to King’s Landing? Afterwards? Would he have used the fact that he was the Targaryen heir to make her back down and let the North be independent? What do you think?
Hi Anon, thanks for bringing up these very interesting questions :)
I always felt that Political!Jon was implied even up to the very end, which makes it even more unfathomable that they wanted us to believe Jon was loyal to her and thought her a “good queen” all this time.
After securing her help (which honestly is not even a shitty reason to just feign loyalty, considering they were in a life-or-death situation) I always thought Jon was so focused on the WW threat that he pushed all thoughts away of what would happen after. He bent the knee in the dragon pit and slept with her - two things he did not *have* to do but that he knew would clearly *please* her to the point of HER being loyal to him and to his people.
It was so brilliant in fact, because it actually made Jon appear “smarter than Robb”, with the opposite move to Robb’s spurning the marriage alliance he did not want. Jon went with it, he went to bed with a woman he did not love in order to forge an alliance and secure help for his people. There was no malice in it (like D stans always accuse us of) just pure desperation, he needed those dragons and he needed her to be focused and fully committed to saving them (and leave Cersei be for a while).
Political!Jon would never have been blind to all the red flags of Dany being a tyrant, watching her in Dragonstone and later finding out what she did to Lannister soldiers and the Tarlys. In S7 they were showing us Jon’s reactions to her awful behaviour: he was having none of it, it was clear that he neither admired her nor liked her much. Now, the “rescue” was supposed to have changed that, but why? How did this one act of her playing Deus Ex Machina cancel out everything else he knew and felt about her? Jon all but warned Missandei that Dany would never let her go, he knew what she was like...
So Jon was supposed to have seen Dany clearly for the first time here, when in truth it seemed much more like he saw her dragons in action clearly for the first time. He saw their power and how they wiped out masses of WW. It even ties up with Quaithe’s prophecy:
“They shall come day and night to see the wonder born into the world again. And when they see they shall lust... for dragons are fire made flesh... and fire is power."
And here’s where the show got it ALL wrong: Jon DID lust. Jon lusted for the dragons and their power against the WW. But the show wanted us to only believe that Jon lusted for Dany. You know, like a guy who thinks with his dick even in a precarious situation. Like Robb and like Tyrion. Jon WANTING those dragons made SO much sense - not only to save his people, but also because he’s a Targ and there is some degree of that dragon-obsession inside him - and yet instead of acknowledging Jon’s true nature and intentions that made all the sense in the world, the show opted to insert the spirit of horny Dany-fanboys into the character of Jon. Because that’s what they thought made the show so popular. Because hero must be lusting after the hottest girl on the show, right?
God forbid that he was only planning to use her dragons for his campaign...
When Jon took her hand and called her “Dany” and “his queen” on the ship, and then ominously said “they will see you for WHAT you are” that was Political!Jon to the highest degree. That was Jon utilising what he’s learned from, well, Sansa. Flattering the monster, giving it nice names, pretending to buy into their bullshit and making it appear as if you are just the dumbest person for them.
(Not to mention that “for WHAT you are” I will never get over how dark that hit)
And even in S8, I feel there was still an implication of Political!Jon hanging in the air, for example the fact that Jon NEVER stood up for Dany, singing her praises - Tyrion has to do that. And then there is Sansa...Sansa who KNOWS
Seriously, Sansa straightout *asks* Jon whether he loves Dany or kisses her ass to secure help for the North.
Sansa literally: Are you Political!Jon or Stupid!Jon?
Jon: *cricket sounds*
Why not just confirm it? Why beat around the bush? Why cut away at this pivotal moment. And I think I can speak for the Jonerys community in this one instant who must have screamed with frustration that they did not get the confirmation they wanted so badly. The show still implied that Jon might have been thinking politically rather than with his genitals.
The biggest WAIT WHAT? moment, however, was this:
Tumblr media
Dany just confirmed that Jon succeeded in convincing her to (momentarily) give up her war against Cersei to fight “Jon’s war” - and deadass asks “Tell me who manipulated whom?” And OMG I need whoever directed that scene to explain Sansa’s reaction to me because it makes zero sense unless it’s supposed to confirm that Sansa in that moment understands that Jon *did* manipulate Dany and that he does *not* love her or became stupid for her.
When I saw this scene for the first time, I screamed because it was such a huge hint at Political!Jon and Sansa’s reaction was literally all of us being relieved that Jon is NOT stupid.
The thing is, even after The Long Night, it still made sense for Jon to go South and help with the war against Cersei, seen as Cersei was the more ‘immediate’ threat to the North (and Sansa in particular). So that was still within the lines of what could be excused...
And then it went to pot...
There is no way in hell that Jon Snow would silently stand by as Dany burns Varys. He may not be able to prevent it, but S1-7!Jon would have *said* something at least, he would have looked away or criticized her it. He would certainly not have condoned it.
And it only gets worse from here on out: In what universe would Jon seriously make excuses for someone who just burned a million innocent people for no other reason but their own satisfaction.
I know they were trying to instil some kind of “conflict” in Jon, to make him feel torn between his duty towards Dany and his love for his family, but Lord, it was not a good look for him.
Jon trying to defend her actions and making excuses for her to Arya and then Tyrion was some of the dumbest and most insane dialogue every written on this show and I strongly feel that a little part of GRRM died inside at that moment.
So for me, Political!Jon was still possible up to the very last episode, when two characters had to *explain* to Jon the difference between good and bad and what is acceptable behaviour. Adding insult to injury, Tyrion even compared his own “love” (read: lust) for Dany to Jon’s as if they were both just a couple of simps who had been fooled by a hot woman.
Political!Jon was always a covert concept, something lying underneath, a possibility for something more interesting that what was being presented on the surface. That used to be the strength of GoT: the unexpected plot twists and turns.
But it still makes me hopeful for the books, because GRRM *is* indeed taking his good old time to do things properly and to create a multi-layered story. Who knows Political!Jon might be a part of that story...
Thanks you for the kind message and great question, Anon :)

Do you think that Jae seems more comfortable and playfull with johnny that with Doyoung? He is shy around Doyoung..
On the contrary, JohnJae have awkwardness to their relationship.
It’s not that Jae is specially playful with Johnny - you don’t see them pedalling on small bicycles behind the stage (it’s WW) or lifting each other up on legs in the park (it’s Yuta) or slapping each others butts (it’s Mark or Haechan) - but the two did spend a lot of time on EnNaNa, where they fooled a lot, they share this two-year experience for two. Jae adjusts to Johnny’s demands to be more extraverted. It’s one of the ways they can communicate (another - conversations on different life topics). And yet, the important thing to note is that Jae doesn’t seek JN on his own. We see them doing activities together “on schedule” (IKEA, library). For example, they both go to the gym, but I don’t recall any stories involving both (Jae talked about Yuta). And JN went with Mark and Hyuk to shoot yoga and muay thai.
Nobody makes Jaehyun more comfortable than Doyoung. Doyoung can make candles out of him, Jae melts so much.
But yes, Jae is usually shy around Do, because he plays a different role from those, he does with other members. He is not a hyung, he is not a "bro”, he is the donsaeng in love. Think about your roles as the child, the student, the citizen. You behave differently. When Jaedo play it’s either “we against the world” - the competitive duo ready to take everyone down - or a game of tag with flirtation.
When Johnny makes Jae blush (the recent hug or that time they played scenes frome tv-series), Jae does his best to fight it off/laugh it off, stay cool, comeback to the norm. With Do he doesn’t want to.
We know Do’s manner of being playful - he attacks with kicks, hugs, chockes, slaps on the butt and smart talk. And we have that footage of Do jumping around and “punching” Jae, when 127 were crossing a road to their vans. Because Jaedo are hiding, we rarely see them being completely natural around each other nowadays. How do they play today? We simply don’t know. The only moments the editors share with us are those of Jae teasing his hyung.
Time to bring the cooking vlive Jae back -  0:35-1:00 and 2.14-2:24. And never forget 2:25-2:28, the classic idiot.

Jason Momoa is wearing a PINK tuxedo at the Oscars. According to Abby's color "signs", he must be gay, and in a suffocating closet marriage!
Tumblr media
The CCers have spent the week claiming that Darren got married so that he looks less “queer” (they are so thoughtfully inclusive until Darren can legally clarify where on the LGBTQ spectrum he identifies himself) #“no homo”. He needs to look less queer so he can get “straight roles or a superhero role”. As if to prove the ccers are full of crap, Aquaman, Jason Momoa wore a pink tuxedo to the Oscars. We know pink is Darren’s color and OMG, it’s so gay.
This trope is silly of course. Ajw- “who has incredible insight”- claims she doesn’t believe he wants to play a superhero-thats too simple I guess. Or maybe she remembered “if he gets married, it’s his decision ”. Whether the Chairman of the Board believes it or not, I saw a lot of comments repeating the “he got married in order to play straight roles or a superhero” trope.  At some point when they were raging over the wedding and trying to figure out WHY? WHY? the trope was born and the minions were all over it.
I found this post when looking for a post to show the trope.  I know ajw is denying it here, but this thread is pure gold and if you haven’t read it-or even if you have- do yourself a favor and give it a read. It is the definition of ridiculous.
ajw720 answered:
Anon, trust me, I am here and I am supporting him, I didn’t leave even though i was tempted to and I am finding this difficult because her smug face makes my stomach churn, but I do have the right to have questions.
This action very much confuses me as I watched him fight and I cannot figure how this happened. I agree, i think there was extreme duress and threats.  I would guess his ability to work was threatened because I do not buy for one second he did this to get straight roles or superhero roles. I also would not be surprised if they threatened C as well.  There are powerful people that have enormous influence in the industry and they have a lot to hide when it comes to the closeting of D, the closeting of CC (again KEY), the extreme abuse of D, the continuance of keeping him tied to a beard that is harmful to his emotional and physical being.
One of the goals i believe is that TPTB want us to believe that this is entirely his fault.  And right now, in the public eye, to those who know he is queer, that is the assumption.
I have incredible insight into the situation and I am well aware of what his vile team, bosses, and beard have put him through, to some level and so I am extremely concerned about this latest move.  But i am not going anywhere. Quite frankly, I am one of the handful of people that is keeping this fandom in tack, something I do think he needs right now. But I do think we all have a right to be critical and to be confused without being harsh.  And I am very much trying to walk that line because I cannot fathom being in his shoes. And the fact that C is still supporting him tells me this is not something he wanted even if he agreed to go along with this sham.
cassie1022
I’ve had my time to be angry with him, and I will admit that was my initial reaction. I hate that he felt this was his only option. It breaks my heart that he’s in this situation. I very much fear for his safety, as I don’t think many people understand just HOW powerful TPTB are and what happens to people that come to be seen as a liability (apparently Darren signed a contract with the mob)
All of that being said, I will never walk away when he/they need us most. But, I too, have many questions that I wish we could get some resolution for.
Oh, and just for the record? I don’t think I’ve ever had a stronger desire to punch a condescending smirk off someone as I did when those airport pics surfaced. I didn’t feel that way about the “wedding” photos because, well, she did an excellent job making herself look ridiculous and the GA did all the tearing her to shreds for me.
chrisdarebashfulsmiles
Nobody is mocking him. But we don’t have to be hypocrite if we are against something. The fact that almost all the people of our fandom are still here in a way or another despite everything I think it’s very telling about the support. Despite the fact of being pissed or annoyed because of the sham wedding.
ajw720
Fact is, TPTB literally have laid him out at the altar as the sacrificial lamb to atone for all of THEIR sins.  And it sucks, and we have a lot of emotions about it. Mine vary literally from one minute to the next (and yes i accept that i care too much), but now that the wedding is over and there is a “marriage” lavender or not, I am concerned how the next few months/years play out.  Because has to deal with her demands that were bad enough as the public gf and fiancee. What will she be like as the wife?
kfs1001
If we go by history, we can pretty much extrapolate what she may be like. The question I would love to know is what safeguard did D get out of all this? If this is is just and extension of his previous contract, he must have gotten something in return? Now this I can but speculate on but I can strongly assume it includes protections for his true relationship with C. I can see a career path as a second measure.
Two me, the scary bit is the power on industry can hold out someone in a country were freedom is held so high. How can a contract supercede fundamental rights?
Regardless of everything D faced a yes or no question. Yes, marry and face the consequence and, no, come out an face the consequence. Yes and no a simple facts in life. No must have been a super hard pill to swallow, but in all this, somehow, I believe he had a win we may never see.
Not everything is black and white. With D ww see a prime example the question now resolves around not what was but what will come. We will see D rebelling as we have come to known…tongue in check…as the picture goes.
We are all here to support D and C in our own ways. Some ar vocal and direct, while others are mor subtle. In our own ways we have their backs. Going forward as a community that is all we can do.
flowersintheattic254
Unfortunately I’m someone who maybe harsher right now. Am I sad for him - yes because he’s made himself look fool. (wait chrisdarebashful just said “Nobody is mocking him!”)
I believe he knew it would be a spectacle. I believe he spent this year distancing himself from the wedding arrangements during interviews. He knew how this sham wedding would look and the shit storm it would produce amongst his fans and I think at some point made his peace with it. I’m not sure how he managed that but I think he did. (let’s be honest here- NOT his fans, just amongst the ccers)
Maybe all his choices in this instance were equally shit, but there are more people involved here than just D. When did his forced choices have to impact so many people?
I’m less concerned with the rebellion. Tbh I saw the nail varnish and sighed and rolled my eyes.
ajw720
@flowersintheattic254 you know more than almost anyone the extent of my feelings and why. And I agree, no matter the options, this isn’t the choice I would have made. Life is the most precious thing we have. So I do have a really hard time comprehending it.
And I still would like to know why he did some of the things he did before this happened. You know precisely what I’m talking about.
I’m jus trying really hard to get clarity and answers.

Link!! Good adventure kid for the character asks
FUCK YEA MY SONHow I feel about this character:I Love Him So Much, he’s such a good sweet boy in every iteration of the character, expressive Link like in WW and BOTW is especially really good. He cares abt his friends sm and is so brave against huge evils despite his always humble beginnings. Each Link is unique, even if some are left up to the players more than others, but they’re all adorable and admirable. All the people I ship romantically with this characterOoT: Malon! They’re really sweet together theyre that couple who’s always teasing eachother. They logically set up TP Link being born a farmer, too.SS: Zelda, do I even need to explain why? The game sets it up as Het Content sure, but like neither of them is cis or het and theyre so fucking cute.TP: Midna! God I Love Midlink, their relationship developing over the course of the game was so precious. (but also Midna and Zelda have history, she’s dating her too too and Link supports her.)BOTW: See it’s tough to pick between Zelda, Mipha, and Sidon here, bc all three are really sweet and adorable and I love all the possibilities bc the character dynamics in BOTW are amazing. My non-romantic OTP for this characterBOTW Link and the other champions, I feel like off screen before the Calamity he got really close with all of them, even Revali who slowly goes from genuine jealousy to affectionate friendship bullying.MM Link with Skull Kid, I feel like he stayed friends with him after the two of them returned to Hyrule, and got really close since they both had to live through Majora’s chaos.Minish Cap Link and Zelda are fucking precious as childhood best friends and I ADORE THEM.My unpopular opinion about this characterPeople who insist that Link is a M A N and S T R A I G H T because that’s how what the limited amount of canon content is meaning to say, bc he uses he pronouns and dates women in some lives? Fucking cowards. Fucking fools, all of them. I say DEATH OF THE AUTHOR! Link’s identity varies from life to life, but this boy has NEVER been cishet in any. He’s most commonly nonbinary and bisexual. Also side headcanon, he’s mute and speaks Hylian sign language! One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.I wish Nintendo would have Link reincarnate as another race than Hylian for once, specifically a Gerudo to both make the character more canonically diverse than a blonde haired blue eyed white cishet man (as far as Nintendo keeps insisting), and to develop their culture and views on gender better than the company has in canon, bc those have always been handled very shittily, leaving Link to get portrayed as such too at times, such as the all around awful scene with Villia in BOTW (having a trans woman’s name be close to Villain while making her a joke, nice nintendo, real nice)

Different anon here and also a non shipper. As a Jon fan, I have to disagree with your assertion that only Jonerys fans are here for their girl and not Jon. I have seen PLENTY of evidence that demonstrates that some Jonsa fans are just as fickle. Not saying that’s you, but the number of posts and fics that came out after S7 saying that Jon was a traitor and should die for sleeping with Dany - and yes, these were Jonsa people - shows that some shippers on BOTH sides have little love for Jon.
(2/3) And as a Jon fan, I can’t tell you how upsetting that is. Seeing him reduced to a prize to prop up someone’s fave, and then effectively “cancelled” when canon doesn’t go the way someone wants. I don’t believe in political Jon, and if it doesn’t happen - if it is as it seems, ie he’s in love - I get the impression that even those Jonsa fans who profess to love will either start hating him, or say his character has been “butchered.” Same if Jon turns on Dany. It all sucks.
(3/3) :-( I see you didn’t respond to my point about some Jonsa fans being the same as Jonerys dance when it comes to liking Jon only insofar as he plays the pretty prince to their fave. That might be because you’re busy, but the cynic in me suspects it’s because you don’t want to acknowledge the truth. Disappointing.
Okay, first of all, have a little patience nonny, I don’t do this for a Iiving, I’mnot on tumblr all day and it takes time to answer to asks, and I doreceive a few.
Let’s start with with your first ask. (I’m warning you, this will be a long read lol You wanted an answer, well, you got it)
Personally, I’ve never seen any Jonsa shippers ever wish Jon would die because he bent the knee or because he slept with D (send proof if you have it). If there truly are Jonsa shippers out there who wished/wish for his death, due to the poor thing being forced to give his country away, because he thought D’s dragons were his only hope against the NK and WW and Wights, shame on them. It’s not Jon’s fault D. is obsessed with power and the Iron Throne, he had to do what he had to do, because he thought it was his people’s only chance at survival, the issue isn’t Jon here, the issue here is D. and her being close minded.
Onto you second ask.
I’ll start with saying that, I do believe in the political Jon theory. Sorry, but it just doesn’t make any sense that he would repeat Robb’s and Ned’s SAME EXACT stupid mistakes like some fool. Jon is not a fool and he’s most certainly not stupid/an idiot.
He betrayed Ygritte, he remained faithful to his brothers, all he did was for his brothers who were like his family at this point, and when the time came, he betrayed her trust and the wildlings’ trust. I’m not really sure why we get so much hate for the political Jon theory tbh, when it makes perfect sense and it’s totally in charachter.
What, he met a Targaryen (with Dragons), that burns people alive just like her mad father used to do, and suddenly he forgets himself? Plus, come on, we have seen how Jon looks at someone he’s in love with, and I’m going to exclude Sansa for a minute here; he’s never looked at D. the way he looked at Ygritte. Kit is a great actor, he knows how to act in love, we’ve seen him act in love with Ygritte/Rose. Now, someone said to me, “Of course he looks in love with Ygritte, he fell in love with Rose on set, he was truly in love with her, he was looking at her with love intense love in his eyes, because it was real, and it showed. He’s not in love with Emilia, that’s why it’s not the same.”. And I’m just over here like, Huh… Then how come he looks at Sophie the same way he looked at Rose? I’m not trying to say that he’s in love with Sophie here, ok? It’s just that, the way he looked at Ygritte/Rose is the same way he looks at Sansa/Sophie, meaning that that’s how Kit acts in love… so.. why haven’t we seen him act the same with D., if he’s so in love with her? Because he’s not in love with her. Plus, I’ve watched other of Kit’s movies too, I’m not basing this just on GoT, Kit knows how to act in love or smitten, and there was none of that with D.
Jon is a Stark, he thinks he is the son of Ned Stark, now… the Mad King, a Targaryen, burned his uncle and grandfather alive with wildfire, and we’ve seen he’s not such a fan of people being burned alive, like AT ALL, so I’m not sure what makes you think he’d ever fall for someone like her, who is utterly and completely self absorbed, who thinks the world revolves around her, someone who is so power hungry that Jon had to go on the stupidest (suicide) mission in the history of missions, because D. wouldn’t help the North UNLESS she got her, just as stupid, truce.
So yeah, Jon giving the North over to her, knowing very well as a consequence the North and its people would come to despise him for it… JON, who all he ever wanted was to have the respect of his father, his approval, JON, who all he ever wanted was for Ned to legitimaze him and make him a trueborn Stark, a true Northerner, makes no (excuse my potty mouth) fucking sense, as it makes no sense he’d fall for such a woman who wants something in return for saving humanity (yeah… what a hero… heroes don’t ask for stuff in return when they save people, they simply do it because they have a good heart, they are selfless  and want to help others, they want to help and protect the weak abd helpless). D. is as far from what he wants in a partner and as far from his type as it can get. She is beautiful, I can give her that, but her morals are different from his, the way she deals with problems etc. is VERY different from his (she straight up goes Dracarys on people whenever things don’t go her way or when people don’t kiss her feet and the earth she walks on), he doesn’t want power, he doesn’t go and seek it but it gets thrust into his hands anyway, she on the other hand, desperately wants power, she feels entitled to it, and when she can’t get it, or when she feels she’s losing it, as I’ve said, she goes Dracarys on people… they are two completely different people, they are incompatible.
But yeah, sure.. I’m supposed to believe JON SNOW, raised by Lord Eddard Stark, fell in love with a pyromaniac, Tyrant/Dictator, that has no regards for what other people want or need, only what she wants and needs, what’s hers by right, and who’s literally Aegon Targaryen come again, mixed with The Mad King… haha good joke. NO.
The Jon we know, book Jon and show Jon, would never fall for someone like her, someone who oppresses others, who bullies others, who uses fear and intimidation to get what she wants. Do you think Jon would ever fall for Cersei? I think the hell NOT. So why would he fall for D? At this point D. has become just as selfish and power hungry/obsessed as Cersei, only caring about power, sitting on the IT and being Queen, THAT is her first priority, the thing that anove all else matters the most to her; if it weren’t, if she truly were so benevolent, we wouldn’t have gotten the dumb wight hunt and the even dumber dragonpit meeting (also, both the dumb dragonpit meeting and dumb wight hunt, were pointless and a waste of time, and Jon could’ve gotten killed both times, he slmost died north of the wall, and Cersei could’ve killed him. Y'all out there who think Arya or Sansa will like or trust D. knowing she risked Jon’s life not once, but twice to get a stupid truce from Cersei, ha, think again).
Replace D. with Cersei for a second, imagine Cersei in D’s place in season 7, say Jon went to ask Cersei and not D, for her army and wildfire, to ask her to fight the dead with the North, together, and he behaved towards Cersei the same way he behaved towards D. (calling her his queen, giving her the north, sleeping with her etc.), now, please tell me, would you really and truly believe he was in love with Cersei? No, NO you wouldn’t. Why? Because Cersei, just like D. is NOT his type, he’s not into power hungry women, who are obsessed with having power and sitting on a throne. You’d too theorize that he has to be playing Cersei, that he’s playing the game, that Jon is in political mode, just like he was with the woldlings and Ygritte, because him falling for Cersei wouldn’t make any sense. But D. is a fan favourite so these rules seem not to apply to her…
How can anyone say that Cersei is not Jon’s type and that he would never fall for her (and it’s 100% he never would), but at the same time say that he’d definitely fall for D., and that it’s no question he’s in love with her? lol
This person told me that Cersei’s family had members of Jon’s family killed, therefore he could never fall for her, to which I’m like, yes, that’s right/true, but like, D’s mad father burned Jon’s uncle (Brandon) and grandfather (Rickard) alive, right? So that logic should apply to her as well now, shouldn't it? But again, it’s D., so for some reason she gets special treatment… selective thinking is selective.. smh…
On another note, it’s safe to assume that, since Cersei knew about D. burning and feeding a man to her dragons, it is common knowledge so Jon went to Dragonstone already knowing that about her. I don’t believe he went to Dragonstone without before trying to find out as much about her as possible, it’s probable Sansa helped him in that regard. I imagine she might’ve been the one going, if you must to go, you/we have to at least know with whom you’re/we’re dealing with to a certain extent. So yeah… that would explain the conversation he had with Missandei:
Missandei: “Then she would give me a ship and wish me good fortune.”
Jon: “And you believe that?”
I truly believe Jon went to Dragonstone already knowing to a certain extent whom/with what kind of person he was about to be dealing with.
So again, YES, I believe in political Jon, because it’s the only thing that makes Jon’s behaviour in season 7 make sense.
I want to stress out that I don’t believe in the UCL theory because of Jonsa, it is not about a ship, it’s not about Jonsa, it has nada to do with it; this is about Jon, I love Jon, and honestly, I cannot for the life of me understand, why would anyone want him to end up with the woman that piece by piece took things away from him that made him feel proud of himself, that boosted his self esteem and confidence, that made him feel finally validated/accepted?
Let’s make a short list about all the things that D took away from him when he had to give her his crown:
1. The love of the Northern Lords and people.
2. The respect of the Northern Lords and people.
3. For all he knows his relationship with Sansa, the woman whom gave him validation, love and purpose, when he needed them the most, is fractured (it isn’t, but he might think him bending the knee will estrange them since he doesn’t know what’s going on in her head. Now, it’s safe to assume that he’s in a overthinking state right now (who wouldn’t be? I know I would if I were in his place), it’s safe and logical to assume that he’s thinking/overthinking about all these things and that they're going to be stressing him tf out until he reaches Winterfell, so add “peace of mind” to this list as well, cause she took that too).
4. Dandelion downgraded him. He was a King and because of her he’s now a warden. I know that he didn’t care much about the “crown”, about being King, but by being King and the North being independent, he could protect his people and his family better. I want what’s best for Jon, and D. ain’t it. This woman just takes and takes and only brings destruction, fire and blood everywhere she goes. I don’t think for one moment, no matter what anyone tells me, that D deserves him. A relationship between them would never be that of two equals, D. doesn’t like sharing power with others, and it would certainly not be a healthy relationship, quite the opposite, it’d be toxic.
5. His happiness. Have y'all seen him happy/smile/laugh on that damned island or with D. in the entirety of season 7? Cause I sure as hell didn’t. #GiveJonHisHappinessBack2k18
So yeah, there is absolutely nothing that makes this pair (J0nerys) make sense to me, Jon being in love with her would be the most absurd ooc thing ever, and I don’t think all of this, because I feel threatened by the ship or because I’m trying to find reasons as for why he’s not in love with her so he can be with Sansa or whatever, that’s NOT IT. It’s simply about the fact that book Jon and show Jon would never fall for someone as shallow as D.
That’s why I 100% believe in political Jon, there is just no way he’d fall for her, him and D are polar opposites, and I mean POLAR OPPOSITES.
I’m not even worried about the “what if he’s in love with her?”, because nothing in season 7 made me believe/convinced me that he is, especially not the chickensex. God, that was the scene that made me go, “Well, she’s definitely in love with him, but he sure as hell ain’t in love with her.”, I mean, COME TF ON!! TVD had better love scenes than that, and the production of that show doesn’t even come close to GoT, besides, GoT proved time and time again they can do romance and provide good love making scenes ex. Missandei and Grey Worm, but they didn’t do it with J/D, instead they overlapped Jon’s true parentage, Bran was narrating, that “love” scene was anything but a love scene. It was bland, rushed sex. But let’s pretend for a second that he really is in love with her, would I want him dead for it? No. Would I think he’s an idiot? Yeah, kinda. I mean, I don’t discriminate, the moment Robb married Talisa, I was sitting on my couch and I literally went, “Oh Robb, you bloody idiod, this is going to come bite you in the arse.”.
So yeah, how stupid it would be, if he went on and repeated exactly the same, as Sansa called them, “stupid mistakes” that Robb and Ned made? That would just be dumbing down Jon’s charachter, and I don’t want that, because I love Jon’s charachter, and because Jon is not dumb, those who have read the books know that, they know Jon is very clever and very observing, so yeah, him falling for D., giving her the North because he thinks she deserves it (btw, why in the world would he think she deserves it? lol she didn’t agree to help the North, until Jon almost got killed to get her what she needed, so she could get her dumb truce from Cersei, yeah, CERSEI, which she didn’t even get in the end… she doesn’t give af about the people that she wants to rule, about the people that she demands they bend the knee to her, they’re on 2nd place, she is her own priority, she is on 1st place, what she wants is on 1st place, what she wants is her main priority, the rest comes 2nd and is not that important to her), would be indeed butchering his charachter, because that’s not who Jon Snow is.
I’m not sure why y'all think him betraying D., him playing her is ooc and charachter butchering, when he’s legit done this type of thing before? It’s canon that he’ll always choose his family (just like he chose the nights watch and his brothers over the wildlings, and Ygritte, with whom he was in love with, unlike with D.), that it will always be on the first place, all he does and ever will do is for them. Even North of the Wall he said to Beric that his loyalty is to the North, that he fights for the North, so when he said he pledged himself to D. at the Dragonpit, that was a LIE, one of the many he had to tell, because he was literally given no other choice. Not sure how so many people haven’t picked up all these red flags in the Jon/D. storyline… there’s so many of ‘em, but oh well..
In conclusion, I would never wish for Jon to die, if say, he truly was in love with D., however I would think of it as being plain stupid and as charachter butchering, and I most certainly don’t see him as a prize for Sansa or as a tool to prop her up. Though, tbh the thing with Jon and Sansa is that ever since they reunited, they have pretty much propped each other up in an equal and healthy way, they’re not using each other, they’re helping each other reach their goals and aspirations, they’re both trying to maintain, making sure they maintain the safety that they achieved once they took back Winterfell, the beautiful thing about their relationship is that they didn’t squabble over who should be King/Queen/rule the North etc. Sansa was happy for Jon, when he was crowed/named King, and him and her ended up sharing that power, Sansa advised him and he listened, Jon expressed his thoughts and opinions and she listened, not once did Sansa object that the Northerners chose him, not once did she try to take his crown and title while he was away, even when they were offered to her. Can we say the same about D.? Who again, just took and took from him? Who’s using whom to prop themselves up huh? Who stripped Jon of all his accomplishments automatically propping herself up? Cause it definitely ain’t Sansa “You’re good at this you know. At ruling.” Stark.
As I’ve already said, the political Jon theory has nothing to do with Sansa, me thinking it would be charachter butchering if he was in love with D., if he trusted her and gave her everything because of love, has nothing to do with Jonsa, Sansa or shipping, political Jon is about Jon, about who he is and who he isn’t, and again (for the 2nd-3rd? time now), he is not an idiot; it’s about what type of women he likes, and he is 100% not attracted nor turned on by power hungry squabbling ones who, cherry on top, burn people alive, and who tell their advisors stuff like, “Your family you mean? Perhaps you don’t want to hurt them after all.” (of course he doesn’t want to hurt them, they’re his family, his own blood, you psycho), yeah, no I bet Jon got real turned on by her saying that. lol
I have said this so many times, Jon would never and could never fall in love with her, there is nothing that makes her attractive in his eyes, except for her face, and Jon isn’t the type that cares about beauty and looks all that much, he’s not superficial like that. Ygritte wasn’t a great bauty, but Jon fell in love with her personality, her fierceness, her sense of humor (I mean Ygritte was funny af #RIP #gonebutneverforgotten) with who she was as a person, and not with her looks.
Hope my answer satisfied you nonny if it didn't, it’s ok (I’m not gonna tag this game of thrones, asoiaf etc. because what I wrote here, I pretty much wrote before, in other metas of mine, and I don’t wanna bore people with the same ideas.✌️

Their point of no return and what it could mean
I want to talk about this moment a little bit, because I  believe this is the most important scene in their relationship so far.
For me their entire dynamic changed after this moment.
Tumblr media
Jon have been trying to act as a brother to Sansa, trying to protect her since they’ve reunited. He tried to fight a war without her, tried to make plans without her opinion, tried to rule without her because for him this is a burden and he tries to protect her from carry it. Since season 6 he’s trying to do things by himself to allow Sansa to live her life with no worries. He does even small things like “have the Lord’s chambers prepared for her”, I mean, that’s  housekeeping duty, the lords don’t worry about this, the ladies of the castles do (we see Catelyn doing this kind of thing at season 1 when Robert’s party arrives), so Sansa should be doing this, not him. Jon sees Sansa as a sister he has to protect and take care of, so for him, to do everything by himself is a way of protecting her. It’s his way to show he cares for her.
At this moment however she confronts him and he faces the reality of what she really is: an independent and intelligent woman, capable of take care of herself and deal with politics. Maybe this is the very first time he realizes that keeping her away from command actually hurts her, although he does it to protect her, she sees it as lack of faith in her.
During an interview Kit said something about it:
“ I think Jon is oblivious. He hasn’t actually learned his lesson from actually trying to pay attention to what she’s feeling. He says he has, but he’s asking her to trust him. He’s not listening and watching and observing her. “
After this moment he decides to take a shot and do things with her. Not without her. And once he does that, there’s no turning back anymore for them. Episode  7x2 is pure bliss in this. He receives a raven from Tyrion and she is the first person he shows it. For the very first time he asks her opinion. Even before Davos who is very much the “Hand of the King in North”. When she’s telling her opinion about it, the camera shows how he’s reacting to her words. To show he’s really taking her opinion in consideration. He puts aside a sister he has to protect and begins to see a woman he can really trust.
After receiving Sam’s raven, Jon declares he’s leaving for Dragonstone and this scene is pure gold too. When he’s talking to the Lords about Daenerys, Sansa reaction is a “yassss, you’re doing great Jon” to show she really supports him. And when he states he’s leaving, he actually turns around to tell HER, and his voice is sad. When he says “It has to be me”, his voice is like an apology. Of all people he’s needs HER to understand why he’s leaving. It’s an entirely different dynamics from when he told Daenerys he was leaving Dragonstone. He didn’t impose his authority over her, saying “I’m the king and I’m leaving, your opinion doesn’t matter”. It’s way more like a “I know you don’t agree but I NEED to do this. I need you to understand and support me on this”. And that’s what she does when she agrees to take care of the North for him.
To give Sansa the North is huge, HUGE. Jon has stated several times this season everything he does, he does for the North. The North and its people is something he would die to protect. He risks his life more than once for the sake of the North, and he decides Sansa is capable enough of take care of it in his absence. He gives her his kingdom and there’s not a single scene of him doubting his choice of left her in charge. I don’t think this whole narrative would work if it was Arya in Sansa’s place. Jon trusts Sansa, because he understands now that she’s someone he can trust, that they are partners, he can rely on her and that she wouldn’t turn him down or disappoint him. He understands that she’s capable of ruling in his place and protect what it most precious to him. He sees her now as an equal.
Before he leaves, he turns to take a last look of her and wave a goodbye. This is such a powerful moment. In many ways we see Jon isn’t leaving because he wants to, but because he has to. He cares for her and he’s going to miss her, but he believes she’s going to take care of herself and that  she’s gonna be there when he returns. And that’s what she’s doing: getting everything done and waiting for him to return home.
Tumblr media
At the end of season 6 Jon asks Sansa to trust him. At season 7, Sansa asks him to trust her. At season 8 they finally trust each other deeply. If you put Jon and Sansa relationship side by side to Jon and Daenerys relationship you see how they work differently. Sansa trusts him, and when he gives her a chance to prove herself, she helps him and they work as a team. They build a relationship where they know they will never turn each other down because they both care for the same things and for each other. But with Daenerys, every time Jon gives her a chance to do something good, she demands something in return. She doesn’t believe him, she minimize him and asks for his kingdom. Even after he gave her that, she states that she will only fight in the North IF Cersei agrees with a truce, even after the WW killed one of her dragons.  They build a relationship where he gives her everything and she gives him almost nothing. Daenerys only gave him the dragonglass bc she had no use for it. She only went North saving him bc she was already in love with him. But she doesn’t care about what it’s important to him, so he doesn’t care about what matters to her. This is not a beautiful or healthy relationship.
At this moment in 7x1 Sansa told him to trust her and listen to her and Jon did that. He takes her advices to heart. And maybe that’s when Jon’s character changed for good.
Kit said: “He’s going to listen to her more this season”. I don’t think he’s referring only about her opinion about Tyrion. I think he’s referring to everything she told him this season, and she gave him solid advices about: Being smarter.
Not trusting Cersei.
Not making Robb's mistakes.
Not making Ned’s mistakes.
This is the last season, if Jon’s gonna survive he needs to learn how to play the game. Sansa knows how the game is played and tells Jon to start playing. When she told him to be smarter, to learn from Robb’s mistakes, even the “they respect you, they really do BUT” she was telling him to play the game. She was warning him that to follow Ned and Robb’s way of life and choices would give him the same fate they had: get murdered for not playing the game as they should have.
Maybe Jon really is listening to her and taking her advice to heart the entire season. Sansa would tell Jon not to trust Cersei, she would say Cersei’s words are meaningless, that she lies and probably would not send a fucking soldier to help them, hoping the WW would kill them all. Sansa would know that. Maybe Jon knows that too, because Sansa told him what kind of person Cersei is. Maybe the Political/Undercover Jon theory is not  so wrong and Jon had decided to take a more aggressive and desperate measure to get Daenerys’s help because he knows Cersei would not keep her word, the dragons are their only chance against the WW’s and he knows Daenerys will not help them if Cersei’s forces are not stand-down.
Most people say Sansa would never stand a Jon who uses Daenerys to save his people. I believe she would. Of all people Sansa would know sometimes we need to do terrible things to survive. She married two enemies of her House, she deceived and killed a man that loved her (“in his own horrible way”) to protect her family and the North.
We talk about how “undercover Jon is too smart and too terrible to happen” but a kinda of “undercover Sansa” actually happened this season. The game of thrones is terrible. The best players are always hated. Cersei, Varys, Littlefinger, Sansa…the audience always sees them as traitors and untrustworthy. Tyrion’s plans began to fail and people are already making theories of how he’s stabbing Daenerys in the back. The audience likes honorable and good hearted people like Ned and the show!Jon. A Jon who plays would make the audience uncomfortable just like the book!Jon would too. Maybe that’s the reason they decided to make all the characters only show their true intentions in the last season. And maybe they want to make a whole drama to reveal this scheme like they did to “Undercover Sansa and Arya” this season.
I know D&D destroy a lot of characters to fit in the show, but I don’t think they would do it to Jon’s character just to make Jon3rys happen in the poorly way they they did it. I mean, they could have developed their romance in a better way, but they chose not to. There’s must be a reason for it. Jon’s grey sides are already in the show, with Ygritte, with Mance, with Jon hanging Olly and almost beating Ramsay to death at season 6. A Jon who plays the game for the sake of the North is just the next step. Season 8 is the last one and everything that is going to happen there had the seeds planted in season 7: Sansa ruling, Daenerys burning people alive, Cersei stabbing people in the back, maybe Jon playing the game is just another one.
Maybe there’s more in northerners fools than meets the eye.
And I’m looking forward to that.

I don’t buy it - Jon isn’t “a northern fool”
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! SPOILERS FOR LEAKED EP 6 AHEAD !!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just don’t buy it. I still believe that Jon is playing Danielle (btw we are using this name so it won’t show up in the search, not as an insult), going “undercover” as he did with the wildlings, to ensure she helps against the white walkers. Want to know why? Keep reading, but I warn you this got ... very, very, very long.
This turned, more or less, into an analysis of the entire Jon x Danielle interaction over season 7 somehow, even though it wasn’t really supposed to be that. Just to be clear about this: If you are a hardcore j0nerys shipper who doesn’t like people having different opinions.... you better stop reading right now. All nasty comments will be deleted without exception. If you see things differently and are open for a civil conversation, well don’t let me stop you. I’m not trying to “hate” on somebody else’s ship here, but as a fan of the series I can analyze and interpret the things happening. J0nery is one of the things happening right now.
They way I see it, there are three key issues to their relationships that can be seen both as motivation for them working and being together, and as distinct sources of conflict. Both internally for each character and in their interpersonal relationship. 1. the personal aspect | their personal feelings for each other, generally and specifically romantic 2. the political aspect | Jon’s duty to stand for an independent North vs Danielle's desire to rule over all Seven Kingdoms 3. the ... “end of the world” aspect | the looming threat that will end them all
At the beginning of ep3 Jon and Danielle were opposed on everyone of those issues: They didn’t know or particularly like each other, they both are relentless about their political decision, Danielle doesn’t believe him about the WW’s and/or is only ready to help under certain conditions.
At the end of ep6 these three issues seem to perfectly align, all conflict seems to be resolved: They are clearly, if not in direct words, admitting their love for each other, Jon has given up his claim on the Northern Crown, Danielle has decided to destroy the night king and his army.
This could be the natural progression of the story. My question is whether this resolution, despite being rushed, was properly portrayed, developed and flashed out over those 3 episodes. Whether the last interaction between Jon and Danielle was earned, whether Douchebag&Dumbass (they earned those nicknames by butchering Arya’s and Jaime’s character, btw) used their limited screen time to build up to this moment. After all, the (supposed) J0nerys romance is clearly meant to be the “emotional climax” of this season.
Now when you look at all their interactions over the season you notice that something is missing. Something very important when developing an intimate personal relationship such as a romance. There is no real human bonding moment for them. Though I supposed that’s not completely true. Danielle does share a few personal issues with Jon, but we never hear Jon talk about anything personal and/or private with her.
This starts in their first interaction when Danielle talks about her hardships, while Jon keeps shut about his and when she later talks about their dead brothers and Jon doesn’t really respond to the topic. This pattern persists when she asks for his advice on the beach, clearly indicating that she came to value and respect his opinion, while he is resisting to give her a clear answer, responding only with a vague statement praising her previous achievements and alluding to her potential. He doesn’t just outright says what he thinks, as he has f  If he was sure about Danielle having a “good heart” and trusts her, wouldn’t he feel free to just speak his mind? But it seems he’s afraid of saying the wrong thing, worried about alienating or offending her. Which makes sense, he is in a very vulnerable position right now, basically her prisoner, and needs her to be on his side. Pissing her off is the last things he would need.
The interesting thing about the cave scene is that while it is shot as the most “romantic” scene for those two characters - the location, the lighting, the dramatic music score, EC’s line reading - they don’t really talk about anything personal in it. Not really. Their shared appreciation of the locations historical significance makes for a bit of a human connection, I guess, Danielle is definitely guilty of some heart-eyes, Jon puts on a more sympathetic face as well, but despite what EC’s voice is trying to tell you: The topic of this conversation is neither personal nor romantic. It ends with their thus far unresolved conflict: To kneel or not to kneel, that is the question.
The dragon petting session was definitely a moving moment for Danielle and finally Jon being a secret targ means ... something. But Jon makes it pretty clear that his targ-blood doesn’t immediately make him regard dragons as cute pets. When his statement about them offends Danielle, he corrects himself and calls them “gorgeous beasts”. Again, she is sharing something personal and important - her connection to her dragons - but Jon doesn’t respond with an equally meaningful story. It’s obvious that he doesn’t approve of her actions - wait until he finds out about the Tarlys - so their one-on-one conversation ends on a conflicted note. I’m pretty sure that Jorah views heartthrob Jon Snow as a potential love rival (what man wouldn’t?), but I don’t think that Jon looks jealous at all. Mostly confused about the weird, old, know slaver that just showed up.
When Bran’s letter arrives, Danielle is trying to strike a more personal tone by telling Jon she’s happy for him, but Jon is going straight back into politics and EotW territory. This would have been a perfect opportunity for Jon to show his “human” side a little bit more. Forgetting about everything else for a minute, sharing ... something, just something about his long lost siblings with the supposed love of his life. But nothing, straight back to White Walker talk. Danielle is obviously worried about Jon going on this stupid ass mission, I have no doubt in my mind that she is head over heels for him at this point. But Jon? He calls her a stranger. He asserts his position as king (Y’all are disappointing Tywin this season) and makes it clear that she can’t force him to stay on this island. Danielle is obviously in too deep to care about it anymore. (It’s a shame Dickon never had a chance to seduce her... ).
Last, but not least their farewell scene  She states that she has grown fond of him, while Jon is keeping the conversation proper and formal. While Danielle is longingly looking after him, Jon doesn’t turn around. This fact is even more emphasized by Jorah’s presence who does take a last long look at the woman he loves, whom he might never see again. Why not have Jon do the same? Why not have Jorah turning around only to see them two exchange a long meaningful look, causing some love-triangle tension? Don’t tell me that Douchebag & Dumbass would be “above” this.
Compare it to Jon meeting Gendry. They talk about their fathers (why Gendry has come to care so much for his sperm donor is anybody’s guess, btw), joke a bit and connect. Jorah and Jon have a similar conversation about their fathers in ep6. We have an interaction like this for most, if not all characters who are forced to or decide to work together. We see this with Tyrion & Jorah, Sansa & Bran, Bronn & Jaime, Tormund & the Hound, Brienne & Arya etc etc. Because in order for us to care about the bond two people share, we need to see that bond being formed. We need characters to tell each other about their feelings, experiences, opinions, families, traumas, etc. for us to get emotionally involved with their relationship. We simply have no interaction between them where they connect as human beings. Especially Jon never brings up any private issues. We never see them actually getting know each other as people. Which is so so odd. If their love story and relationship was this important to the overall story, wouldn’t they want to make sure we get emotionally involved in it?
They could have easily written in Jon telling Danielle about his “father”. This is a difficult topic for them, considering the rebellion and stuff, but he brings up good old Ned to almost every single person he talks to. Jon has some serious daddy-issues and it would make sense for him to defend his father to Danielle. To make her see that he wasn’t the kind of man who sends assassin after newborn children. But not once do we see him go “I can’t speak to Robert and you might not want to hear this, but my father was the most honorable dudebro in all the seven kingdoms, blah blah.” Btw, why did Varys never tell her that Ned quit his job because he didn’t agree with Robert? He could have chimed in, overhearing them “by accident” and tell that story. Them having a conversation about Danielle’s father, the rebellion, this conflict and tension between their houses would have given real depth to their relationship. I would even consider them sorting out these issues a key requirement for them to even have a healthy, mutually loving relationship. Why were they never brought up? Why do we never see Jon talk about anything that matters to him as a person, other than the threat beyond the Wall and his duties as king?
What I’m trying to say is that their personal interactions are biased toward Danielle. She has made obvious heart eyes, talked about personal issues and showed that she gained trust in Jon. I’m not saying that Jon isn’t attracted to her or dislikes her completely. But, at least everyone should be able to admit that up until their goodbye in episode 5  Danielle looks a lot, like a hella lot, more love-struck than Jon. Even if one could argue that Jon has his moments where he shoots her a tender look, the disparity is pretty apparent.
But then in ep6 immediately after Jon wakes up on Danielle’s ship (btw, at least Jon didn’t decide to ditch WF for KL by his own choice. Of course Douchebag&Dumbass had to put him straight on a boat, because as so many people - me included - pointed out: It makes no sense for him to want to go. He should have want to go to WF by all means, home to his family and his people, preparing them for the threat that is getting really fucking close), he basically hands her everything she wants on a silver platter, without any coaxing from Danielle whatsoever.
Don’t you think that’s at least a very drastic, sudden shift in his behaviour? Even if we assume that he has changed his mind about Northern Independence eg he’s willing to kneel in exchange of her help, even if we assume that he has developed serious feelings for her, why would he be the one to bring this up? Why would he be so direct about it all of a sudden? Why not wait until Danielle mentions the whole kneeling issue, hoping that maybe she’s ready to put the political struggle aside now that she’s seen the enemy with her own two eyes - as was Jon’s original plan - but still being ready to give in should she press on about it? I wouldn’t begrudge Jon for doing so, but just giving up the north by his own choosing, proclaiming her “his queen” -ugh- stands in direct contrast to his convictions so far.
What has changed? Seriously, what happened between the end of e5 and the end of ep6 that could have made Jon do a literal 180 on this topic? . Let’s look at the conversations Jon has with his suicide squad companions, shall we?
Jon talks to Tormund in Eastwatch | It’s interesting that Jon doesn’t try to distinguish between Cersei and Danielle in any way. When Tormund asks which queen he has to convince, he simply says “both”. Though I was under the impression that Danielle already believed him - maybe still a bit unaware about the true extent of the issue - and this was first and foremost to get Cersei on board. He could have said “Danielle won’t risk sending her armies north until Cersei is convinced” or something like that. If he was already in love with her and believes her to be “his queen” -ugh- wouldn’t he come to her defense? Wouldn’t he try to put the “blame” for this stupid, stupid, stupid idea firmly on Cersei?
Jon talks to the Brotherhood without Banners in their Cells | The one thing to notice here is that Jon makes it clear that nothing else matters anymore, everyone who still breathes is on the same side. We have to work with people we neither like, nor trust because all of these squabbles don’t matter anymore. The only thing that counts is defeating the Night King.
Jon talks to Jorah | This would have been the perfect opportunity to bring up Danielle. Seriously, when I saw them starting talking I was already shielding myself for some “isn’t she just amazeballs”-comments from Jorah and maybe even Jon. Simply because ... well it’s Jorah’s favourite subject in the whole world and if Jon really was jealous he could have asked some side-eyes question about his relationship with her. Jorah himself could have pulled a Tyrion a la “Kh*leesi is the most wonderful person in this world, you will see that and then call her your queen -ugh- too.” Have Jon say something a la “D*enerys, she is quite an impressive woman.”. He’s talking to someone who knows the woman he supposedly loves very well, why isn’t he prying for some information? But she isn’t a topic of conversation between them at all. Similar to many of the things mentioned above, while this scene doesn’t necessarily refute any potential romantic feelings from Jon’s side, it is clearly a missed opportunity to shift our focus on them.
Jon talks to Tormund | Danielle comes up, but again not in a personal context. Another missed opportunity to mention the emotional aspect of their relationship. Since, you know, this is Tormund. They could have easily written in a comment a la “What does a fucking dragon queen look like?” or something like this. If you need a shameless character who doesn’t care about personal boundaries and just outright asks inappropriate questions, Tormund is your man. Hell, it wouldn’t have been out of character for him to straight out ask whether “Jon’s little pecker got happy with the dragon queen while he was south. Is that why he took so long?” or something alike. But no. He only asks “so you’ve met that dragon queen?” and Jon takes the conversation into the political direction. He brings up that she’ll only help if he bends the knee and Tormund this train of thought by highlighting the Jon/Mance parallels in this situation once again.
Jon talks to Beric | His talk to Beric revolves around the whole Lord-of-light, brought-back-from-the-dead, what-are-we-fighting-for issue. Beric states that they are not fighting for some king or queen, but for life itself. Weird that Jon would proclaim a woman “his queen” -ugh- not 30 min later. Jon rehashes a line from his night’s watch vows: The shield that guards the realms of men. This is a call-back to his conversation with Half-Hand back in season 2(?), who reminded him that “we are the watcher’s on the wall” before he died and told Jon “to do what needs to be done.” Does anyone remember how Jon infiltrating the Wildlings went down?
Looking back at the three big issues surrounding the relationship between Jon and Danielle, only two of them were brought up in their time apart: The impending threat from the dead, how fighting them is all that truly matters and Jon’s dilemma of bending the knee to get Danielle’s help. She is never mentioned as a love-interest. The personal side of this equation is not addressed between him leaving DSt and him being saved by her.
Which is weird, because ... a bunch of dudebros alone in the wilderness, some of them even talk about ladies and sex and dicks (emmy nominated writing, folks), would have been a great opportunity to bring this up. But instead the theme of Jon’s conversations seem to be “proud men and their downfalls”. Something that has been mentioned many, many times over the season.
His conversation with Jorah (like he didn’t talk about Danielle with Jorah -kh*lessi loving- fucking mormont.) also revolves around the topic that honorable men don’t always get what they deserve. Jorah’s father was killed by his own men, Ned was executed. Plus the Mance dilemma is connected to this as well. “Pride” and “honor” are more or less the same thing when you think about it. This plays back into the “Northern fool” narrative the season has been setting up since episode one. We here about three men who found their untimely death because, or despite of, their own kind of honor. Jon has been warned by Sansa not make those same mistakes and Jon himself has admitted to coming to close to doing just that. But more on this later.
All of Jons interactions and seeing how effective the dragons truly are explain why he has made the decision to bend the knee, at least why he’s ready to give in to her demands, not why he would actively give it up. But there were no conversations that would allude to his growing feelings for Danielle. At all. If that was the “emotional climax” of the episode, shouldn’t they put in a few things hinting at it?
I would also like to mention how very odd his behaviour after waking up was. The first thing he said wasn’t “where am I?”, it wasn’t about his uncle who just died to save him (which I would assume would be the first thing that comes to mind). It wasn’t Danielle asking him “How did you get out of there??!! We all thought you were dead.”. Before Danielle could say anything, he tells her how sorry he is about Viserions death. I’m not trying to be insensitive here, I know that her dragons are immensely important to her but to Jon? His uncle was just killed in front of his eyes, shouldn’t that be the thing he is heartbroken about? He didn’t even build any kind of personal connection to Viserion specifically. He should have started this conversation with many other things, but he very deliberately chose to start with that.
If I’m allowed to put this in colloquial terms, he is sucking up to Danielle. Just as he’s been doing in ep4 when she asks for his advice, just as he did in ep5 when he didn’t think “beautiful” was the right word to describe her “children”. This is before Danielle promises to destroy the night king with him, it seems to me that he is doing what he’s been doing for the entire season: Catering to Danielle’s feelings and wishes. Soothing her temper. Not saying the wrong words as not to alienate her. Rather than holding his tongue or beating around the bush, as he has done before, he actively says exactly what she wants to hear. And that’s exactly how that interaction progresses.
Jon establishing physical contact to create an intimate atmosphere, “using” her obvious crush on him, going a bit further by inventing a fun nickname for her, him calling her “my queen” -uuughhhh-, giving up the North and saying that what the Northern Lords want doesn’t matter because they’ll change their mind once they see how amazeballs she is. This entire conversation revolves around her, Jon only talks about things that are supposed to make her feel good. Again, there is no mention to how Jon survived. Jon apologizes for going on the dumb wight hunt ... when it wasn’t even really his idea?! Tyrion came up with the plan of catching a dead and bringing it to cersei. Why is he taking all the blame for this bullshit plot?
Danielle isn’t taking at least some part of the blame herself “if only I had believed you, all of this wouldn’t have happened. Viserion would still be alive”. The next comment might be fueled by a bit of salt and left-over range from yesterday, so don’t take it too seriously, but “you have to see it to believe it.” sounded almost like an excuse. “Don’t apologize, it’s good this happened, this isn’t your fault. But it isn’t mine either, because how could I know?” This would be consistent with her characterisation so far. She is not willing to admit any mistakes, not even to herself. If I look back, I’m lost. But Jon doesn’t point any fingers either, not even in the most subtle way “we had to do it to convince you and cersei”... which is odd. As said above take this last paragraph with a grain of salt, because it was written with an ounce of salt.
Why would he just call her “D*ny” all of the sudden? He hasn’t called her anything but “Your Grace” until now. This comes out of nowhere. It’s pretty easy to create a narrative leading up to this moment, btw. Why not have Danielle offer to address each other on a first-name-basis? Do it on the beach when they say their farewells, Jon calls her “Your Grace” and she answers with “Daenerys is alright.” Jon only nods and turns away. At first Jon declines because of the whole (potential) political, I-can’t-love-you-because-THA-NORTH, so-I-have-to-stay-formal thingy, but after she saves his ass he calls her D*enerys for the first time. She smiles, obviously moved by this and he jokingly says “or maybe D*ny?” and the show can take it from there. Sounds a lot more romantic and a lot less random, right? It would take two lines of dialogue to make this seem a lot more natural and a lot less suspicious and ooc.
Side-note: After Danielle leaves the room and Jon opens his eyes (did he only pretend to sleep?) he looks exhausted, exasperated. Not like a man who just shared a very intimate moment with the woman he loves. It just doesn’t add up. Why is Danielle lovingly looking at his sleeping face not the last shot?
Altogether, their “romantic relationship” is still as one-sided as it was before, only now Jon is actively pushing for it to be that way. All in all his behaviour is way over the top. It sounds like a man who’s simply trying to woo a woman for one reason or another. If they had taken it down just a nudge I would have believed it. If they had shown some restraint to either the romantic tones or the kneeling issue, I would have taken it as Jon’s genuine feelings. But this way? It’s too much, too sudden, without having a proper build up to it. It’s just not how “Jon” would act.
This is mostly what if comes down to: the romantic hints over the season were really, really on the nose - dramatic, emotional scores and line reading that do not match the tone of conversation (cave scene), or third characters spilling it out for the audience (davos), or moving deep into soap opera territory (boat scene) - but just as superficial. All these hints are thrown into our faces without properly being set up or developed. There were countless possibilities to give it some real depth and as little trust as I have in Dickheads&Douchebags writing abilities I don’t understand why they wouldn’t use them. As much as I disagree with a lot of their choices I can contemplate why they are doing stupid. The whole stupid arya vs sansa subplot is there to create some tension and drama in WF. I get it. It’s stupid as hell but I at least understand where the stupid is coming from. I know what they are trying to achieve with that stupid. But this? Half-assing the big love story of the show? The only explanation that makes some sense to me is that Jonnearrris is a red herring.
A really well executed one, btw. Make sure the audience can’t miss it, but also prevent them from forming a real emotional connection to it. After all it is supposed to distract from the real storyline (I’m going to assume jonsa & targbowl) not compete against it. You want the audience to be shocked, but not hate you for ruining the most amazing, emotionally involving love story you’ve ever seen.
This leads me to my final conclusion: There are only two options here.
a) Dickhead & Dipshit missed out several obvious opportunities to flash out Jon’s feelings, because ... just because, and fucked up to effectively use their limited screen time to develop the grand love story of GoT. The cave scene, for all it’s romantic lighting, background music and line reading, concludes on the very political issue of northern independence. Dragon petting could have been used for Jon to make a personal statement (I have a direwolf I love and miss very much - as does the audience, btw - I wouldn’t call him “my child” but I got the connection you have going on with those lizards), instead Jon isn’t to keen of the fire breathing lizards and their conversation ends with him not being to sure what to think about her victory on the field of fire. Their goodbye scene could have been used to have them throw a last longing glance at each other, instead Danielle looks on while Jon has his back turned and doesn’t look back. Jon’s conversation with Jorah could have been used to cause and highlight some tension between them since they are “in love” with the same woman, instead it revolves around honorable, upright men and their deaths. His conversation with Tormund could have been used for some light-hearted guy-talk, as is Tormunds speciality, but instead it’s about the lives Mance could have saved if he had let go of his pride (and honor) and knelt. Again, there isn’t much in the season that would outright refute any romantic feelings from Jon’s side, he at least seems attracted to her and perhaps a bit intrigued (she is beautiful and a very fascinating woman if nothing else), but I can see missed opportunities to have Jon’s feelings mentioned or emphasized left and right. So many that it’s hard to believe Dumbass & Douchebag aren’t aware of it. If the entire season was building up to this “revelation” in ep6 and the following boatbang in ep7 wouldn’t they have used everything they got to actually build up to it? If this truly is where the show is headed, they did a very very lousy job. And don’t tell me that all the things I mentioned above would be “too cheesy” because the last Danielle / Jon scene in ep6 was fucking cheesy as hell. Btw, maybe my Jonsa-shipping-goggles make me a bit “immune” to all this, but if that’s the case, jonnearis-shipping-goggles make people overly perceptive to it as well. This accusation goes both ways.
Which leads me to the second option:
b) They didn’t mention the personal aspects of this plot point because they don’t really matter. Because things are not as they seem. They emphasize the political and “end of the world” issues in Jon’s story line and his relationship to danielle because those are the things influencing his behaviour, most importantly the drastic shift in his behaviour between leaving DSt and reuniting with Danielle on the boat on their way to the stupid stupid dragon pit meeting: He is giving up on his political agenda and uses all means possible to make sure Danielle helps them. He has learned from his predecessors mistakes (Mance not kneeling - and dying, Ned being to trustworthy - and dying, Robb falling in love with a foreign woman - losing his people - and dying) and is now using that knowledge for his advantage. There are only three possible payoffs to the “Northern fool” narrative: 1. Jon is making the same mistakes as the men he’s compared to and will suffer similar consequences (unlikely, since he is aware of that and has already broken with his mance-persona), 2. he does the same mistakes without it backlashing because Danielle is just so amazing (very unsatisfying storytelling) 3. he learned from it and doesn’t make the same mistakes. He goes along with everything she wants, tries to win her over by all means possible because what he said is true “D*enerys is their last hope”. Not only in this specific event of stupidly getting trapped by the Army of the Dead in the middle of a frozen lake because ~someone~ thought it was a great idea to go on a fucking idiotic wight hunt, without horses, adequate manpower or any real plan, but also in the grander scheme of things. If Danielle doesn’t help them (what if she refuses to go back north after one of her dragons was killed there?) they are fucked. That’s why Jon went to DSt in the first place, later admitting that is was a stupid idea, that’s why he went beyond the wall to catch a fucking wight, even though that was a really bad idea. All his actions this season were motivated by defeating the threat to the north. All of them (except for choking Littlefinger, *cough*). Even reuniting with Bran and Arya had to take a backseat to this issue. Is it really that far-fetched that his ooc-behaviour at the end of ep6 is the same? If you consider all the things mentioned above? He can’t risk her bailing on him, so he does everything he can to cater to her feelings and desires voluntarily and up-front, to make sure she fights the WW’s, to make sure she doesn’t have any excuse to leave them high and dry.
I would also like to mention that this theory doesn’t even need to implement any possible dark!dany or targbowl or just general endgame speculations. Except for one paragraph, this is solely based on what happened on screen this season. This isn’t about me being a salty shipper either. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of any j0nerys romance really, but the big pay off in e6 was simply unearned. Either Dickhead & Dipshit fucked up writing a romance or they are presenting us with a wonderfully crafted red herring. Being the optimist I am, I’ll believe in the second until proven wrong.
I teased to write a “little something” about this issue, but it turned into a “fucking big something” instead. Thanks for sticking with me until the end!

If Jon is not playing Dany's pasty-white ass, then I'm just going to accept that he's a stupid dude with an unhealthy attraction to crazy, creepy, and psychotic women (Ygritte, Melisandre, and Dany). NO TASTE! LMAO
Anoooony, you are so right. But my hopes that Jon is playing Dorito hasn’t faded at all, It’s all in the subtext of their relationship (or lack of) even in 7x07:
-Dragonpit scene actually made me snort a lot, because isn’t this completely OOC for Jon “there is only one war that matters Snow to refuse to be neutral? He hasn’t bent the knee (“I would bend the knee but–”)not really, you know in the same way that Arya ‘who longed for her family ’ Stark was OOC threatening Sansa and shit when it was a ploy to kill LF. I meaaaan the idea of going to Cersei in the first place was to appease Danita, cuz she cared more about the throne that the WW, if she didn’t then why was this meeting necessary at all? To increase their numbers? Well yes, but Cersei’s army is not that big anymore thanks to someone *side eyeing D Tapioca* and Tyrion most of all knows they can’t trust Cersei (dude he has been outplayed by her this whole season) and so does Jon (or he should) he was warned by Sansa, for me it’s clear he is playing his Northern Fool persona this hard because Cersei? She is not really necessary, sure is nice to have more people but at the end of the day D keeps being the ally he absolutely *needs* to secure and you saw her face when he said the bullshit? She was orgasming right there (cool for her cuz boatfuck seemed boring af)
-That talk about the Dragonpit, and how the Targaryens stopped being speshul snowflakes without Dragons (god the anti-d@enerys people have been saying this all the time and It’s nice to get confirmation from the D herself) and omg how awful is to be like everyone else (yikes) duuuude cry me a fucking river! Her family was a clusterfuck that brought doom and lots of conflict to Westeros, she is delusional and an hypocrite, she also chained and kept her dragons under a fucking pyramid because it was the responsible thing to do after one of them actually killed someone cuz their tamer wasn’t shit. And Jon? He would never admire nor care for someone so entitled, he was raised by Ned Stark ffs! his deadass response was ‘you aren’t like everyone’ talk about being vague af (they’ll come to see you for what you are’) yeah good you say that Jonny boy but if Imma buy a romance you got to tell me/her Why? What is it that sets her apart from everyone in your mind? Cuz otherwise she is just filling the blanks in her self-important mind and oh! Would you look at that? It almost make sense.
-The baby talk reafirmed the one-sided nature of this relationship, D once again opens up and talks about a very sad and traumatic moment in her life and Jon?? He is not sympathetic, he doesn’t say he is sorry about it, he just straight up says a half assed 'maybe the witch was lying?’ and keeps being closed-off about himself.
-The meeting in DS, D is the worst ruler again when she listens the advice of the guy she wants to fuck instead of the man who went through hell and back with her, a man who has shared everything he is/has done with her, and who has proved his loyalty (and kinda creepy love obsession) to her. Rather listen to the dude she just met that Tyrion Lannister who straight up risked his life to get Cersei to agree to stop hostilities with them after the lil’ stunt said random dude pulled. And I am not surprised, lots of people in Meeren told her to re-open the fighting pits (that really is a complicated issue in itself) cuz they were an important tradition people liked but she listened until Daario (her boy toy) told her to, if anything Jon is playing her in the best way. kudos!
-the sex. I wasn’t dreading the scene so much as the wank that was sure to follow, and tbh I kinda wanted it to be hot (hey if I was gonna watch such stupid, fake tension set up for Targbowl it better be super hot) K1t and €milita are very attractive but dude, what a fucking let down! I was straight up laughing, I am mostly a functional adult involved in sex-ed and proud member of the bdsm comunity of Mexico City, I don’t laugh at sex, last time I laughed at sex was when reading the 50sog first sex scene (and if you’ve read it you’ll know why, also I was 15 at the time). Okay so, I am an actress I have done sex scenes in theater mostly, if this was got’s epic romance and J0n was really conflicted about the depth of his feelings vs. Duty to the North he wouldn’t be the one initiating it point blank, there would have been a set up (Missandei and Greyworm anyone?), a conversation, sexy undressing some kind of foreplay! Cunnilinguis! If this fandom agrees in something is in Jon Snow being the God of Oral Sex, yet we get 20 seconds of missionary possition humping? In a season that had not one but two oral sex scenes? Something smells rotten in this (the red herring) and don’t even get me started in the voice over or the wierd ass focus on Tyrion.
Now onto Jon’s past tyrst/love interests? He didn’t have much option with them did he?
I mean I really liked Ygritte (much more in the books that the show because this friggin show never portrayed the soft side that made Jon really fall for her in the books) but Jon was playing her in the beginnig, he literally had to fuck her or die, he was a horny self-repressed boy that ended up catching feelings, and let’s be honest she also warmed him up and made him understand the wildlings which was huge for Jon’s development, but at the end he chose his duty, honor and vows.
Melissandre, she can’t even be considered as a tyrst or love interest, she was feeling him up and undressed for him (de to her creepy ass sex magic) and Jon rejected her, oh yes he was tempted (Carice Van Houten is hot af and he hadn’t had sex in a long time) but he still said no and held his ground, duuuude he didn’t fuck her or show any interest after she brought him back from death)
So we have stablished a very clear pattern of Jon being true to his love for the North, even if he has to decieve, do less that honorable stuff and yes forfeit love for it. Plus all the warnings, literal textual evidence of Jon not making the same mistakes as the honorable man he admired and came before him.
But Then again this is just my opinion. Hope this cheered you up and help you keep faith on Jon.

For The (Not)Watch: Episode 7.4
The Reason HBO Can’t Afford Direwolves Anymore
So this week wasn’t quite AS boring as last week, but that’s not saying much. I almost had an emotion or two. ALMOST...
We open on something other than Dragonstone for a change -- in the Reach(?) and on the Westerosi Wells Fargo Wagon, which Jaime is once-overing, while Bronn hangs out in the background demanding Jaime give him Highgarden, but Biggie Lannister is like “nah, mo’ money, mo’ problems!” Bronn’s not buying that line, though, and feels he should be on the list of debts the Lannisters pay off. He also makes some snarky remarks about Cersei which are actually 100% accurate but of course Jaime, like GoT watchers, is blissfully blind to the truth. Jaime then sends Bronn with the Tarlys to go shake-down local farmers for their sweet, sweet grains.
Then we head over to King’s Landing, where Tycho is hella impressed that Pinhead Cersei will be able to pay off her debts in one lump sum but is kinda bummed to be losing out on that tasty monthly APR. Cersei hints that Qyburn is in negotiations with the Golden Company to join her cause and Tycho vouches for them... but reminds Cersei that the Iron Bank ain’t doing shit until Jaime makes that big deposit.
Next we hit up Winterfell, AND WHO THE HELL LEFT THE KIDS ALONE WITH LITTLEFINGER?? Somehow that snake slithered his way into Bran’s chambers and is attempting some kinda cringeworthy heart-to-heart... Seriously I half-expected him to tell Bran “I’M YOUR DADDY NOW.” Instead he decides to give Bran a gift -- the Valyrian steel dagger that was used to try to murder him in Season 1. Bran’s like... “Thanks?” (But really, isn’t this kinda payback for last week when he threw Sandra’s wedding night back in her face?) LF starts monologuing about Catelyn, and Bran asks if LF knows who the dagger belonged to (I’m guessing just to test LF, because obviously Miss Cleo is gonna know exactly who it belonged to... right??), and of course LF is like “No idea!” Then he randomly mentions the word “chaos” and Bran’s creep-dar goes off, and he interrupts him by saying “CHAOS IS A LADDAH.” Yes, folks, Bran threw LF’s dumbest catchphrase back in his face and it was played off like a genuinely weighty moment and not something that required a laugh track in the background. LF has barely time to react before Meera comes in. LF leaves, and Meera makes the sad announcement that she has to leave to be with her family, and Bran’s just like “Cool, bye then.” And Meera’s like... “bitch that all you have to say to me????” And Bran’s just like “uhhhh thank you for your service?” Meera then be thinking hmmm maybe this is just like a teen comedy and he’ll come wheelin’ after me at the airport at the last minute to profess his love for me? But nah, Bran’s straight-up fixing to ghost her ass, smh. She’s like “my brother, your wolf, and Hodor all died for you, Bran!!” But he’s like
Tumblr media
And because D&D would rather leave significant character development off-screen, they have Meera assure us that Bran “died in that cave.” Cool, thanks, good to know!
Meera leaves, and then Bran hears the familiar strings of the Stark Theme, and he knows that Arya is near! Yes, Arya has finally found her way back to Winterfell. She strolls up to the front gates and is immediately given a hard time by the guards in a blatant repeat of the same scene from Season 1 (not the first or last time we will be seeing rip-offs from the first couple of seasons just in this episode alone). One of the guards even tries to PUNCH her (???) before agreeing to left her in but telling her wait while they decide what to tell Sansa. And since WF is being guarded by 2 of the 3 Stooges, Arya is able to just wander off without them noticing.
The guards then enter what appears to be the Bat Cave where Sandra is hiding out and has pretty much no visible reaction to hearing that Arya is in the house. Which is funny because Arya implied to the guards that Sandra would have their asses if she found out they’d turned her sister away. Instead, she just kinda looks bored and is like, “whatever, I know where she is...”
We then go down to the crypts for one of the most-anticipated reunions in ASOIAF-dom!!! Buuuut this is GoT, so it’s all very awkward and forced. Like, seriously, Arya, you’re not fooling anyone...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sandra runs up to hug her, but just like with Small Wonder Bran, Arya-Bot 1000 barely registers an emotion or even bothers to hug her back. WTF, people???
They briefly have a moment in front of Ned’s statue, which was kinda nice. I mean, they didn’t even call him stupid or anything!! The lowest of low-hanging fruit, but I’ll take it at this point... Then Arya says it doesn’t look enough like Ned and that it should have been carved by someone who knew his face, but Sandra says that everyone who knew his face is dead. Ummmm? Sandra, Arya, Bran, Jon, Cersei, Varys, Sandor, Jaime, Littlefinger, Beric, Thoros... that’s almost a dozen people right there who are still alive that knew what Ned looked like (though I can’t vouch for their stone-carving skills...). Then, as usual, the moment is completely trampled on when the two sisters bond over how they both wished they had killed Joffrey themselves HAHAHAHAHA so sweet. Then Arya tells Sandra about her List, and Sandra’s just like
Tumblr media
They make vague allusions to all the things they’ve been through since their separation. They then venture the godswood to say howdy to Bran, who is a party-pooper as usual, calling out Arya on her plan to go to KL to kill Cersei. Sandra asks Arya who else is on her list... SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO BRING UP SANDOR BUT NOOOOOPE CAN’T HAVE ANY DISCUSSION ABOUT THE HOUND WITH OR IN FRONT OF SANDRA EVEN IF IT’S ARYA DOING THE DISCUSSIN’ so she’s just like “eh most of them are already dead.” Then out of nowhere Bran’s just like “check out this new toy Littlefinger gave me” and Sandra’s like “WHY IS LITTLEFINGER GIVING YOU WEAPONS” Bran’s like “doesn’t matter, don’t want it anyway” and gives it to Arya.
The three Starks then make their way back into the the yard, where Brienne and Pod see them, and Pod says, “Good job, m’lady!” and she responds pretty much the same way I did -- “I didn’t do shit.”
Then we hit up Dragonstone, where the Jonerys train is being happily conducted by Missandei and Davos. Both give their respective masters a forced series of “nudge-nudge-wink-wink” moments with regards to the other, so as to to remind the viewers that THIS IS TOTALLY A THING, YOU GUYS. Dany and Missy are taking a stroll, and when they see Jon, they exchange a look like two freshmen girls who have just been acknowledged by the varsity QB on the quad. It’s quite pitiful.
Anyway, Jon takes Dany into one of the dragonglass caves to show her something. Sadly, he keeps his pants on and instead ducks into a tunnel which opens up into another cave with a bunch of primitive drawings on the walls. Indiana Snow then schools Dany on how they were drawn by the Children of the Forest and depict their encounters with both the First Men and the white walkers.
P.S. the CoF totally phoned it in on the FM but got all HR Giger when it came to the WWs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And even though Jon could have drawn those pictures himself and made up literally everything he said for all Dany knew, she considers this definitive proof of his claims and immediately agrees to help him... if he bends the knee. There’s a lot of whisper-talking and long-held gazes, which I think was supposed to be “sexual tension”.
They exit the cave with their chaperones, where they find Tyrion and Varys waiting for them, looking rather glum. Tyrion drops the bad news that although they took Casterly Rock, the Lannister forces took Highgarden and all the spoils. Tyrion tries to rally, but Dany reams him out for fucking up and suggests he did it on purpose cuz he’s really still loyal to the Lannisters (OH DUHHHHH). She then declares “enough with the clever plans” and decides instead to stick to more stupid ones I guess. To that end, she asks Jon what she should do.
Your QUEEN, ladies and gents. Has no idea what she’s doing and constantly has to ask the (much smarter) men around her to tell her what to do. But the mere fact that she is “in charge” is I guess enough for most people to declare this “feminist”. Sure, okay.
Anyway, Jon tells her that if she uses her dragons to annihilate everyone, she’s just “more of the same” and isn’t giving her followers anything better to hope for. Which is a fair enough assessment but we all know it’s being used to highlight Jon’s “dumb” honor and compassion because DRAGONS SO EPICCCCCC!!!
Back at Winterfell, Brienne is again cleaning Pod’s clock (remember when this kid killed a Kingsguard in the middle of the Battle of the Blackwater? D&D don’t either I guess), but then Arya rolls up on her with Needle and says she wants to throw down with the person who beat the Hound. Brienne’s like “haha cute” but then Arya pulls out all the water-dancing nonsense and completely flummoxes Brienne.
So, for those doing the math:
Brienne beat The Hound; Arya beat Brienne; ergo, ARYA CAN BEAT THE HOUND.
I really wanted to enjoy this scene, but I couldn’t forget that the last time we saw Arya actually spar with anyone was in Season 1 with Syrio. Now all of a sudden she’s the most formidable warrior in the Seven Kingdoms.
Tumblr media
Any-freaking-way, Sandra appears on her perch again (with LF not far behind, of course), and at first she seems pretty impressed with Arya’s skillz, but when it’s over, she just, like, storms off in a huff? Why??
She leaves LF to have a weird stare-down with Arya.
Back on Dragonstone, it’s now Davos’s turn to tease Jon about Dany, implying that Jon was staring at her rack apparently?? Jon’s like “ain’t nobody got time for that” but luckily they run into Missandei where Davos can continue on that train of thought. They then have a conversation about how bastard names work on Westeros (in Season 7?????) and Missandei declares that marriage isn’t a thing in Naath, and Dirty Ol’ Man Davos is like HAHAHAHA not where I come from either, wanna go grab a drink later?? Jon and Davos then start questioning why Missandei is so loyal to Dany, and Missandei begins to talk about Dany like Squeaky Fromme talking about Charles Manson.
Tumblr media
^^ waiting for this dialogue to pop out of Dany’s mouth at some point this season...
Davos is basically like SORRY I ASKED. Just then, they’re interrupted by a dingy being pulled up on shore (somehow they didn’t notice this until the were RIGHT on the beach) containing Theon and the straggler Ironborn. Theon sees Jon and is like like “hey sup” and Jon’s all YOUSONOFABITCH!!! but stops just short of roughing him up because of what he did for Sandra. He then tells him that Euron has his sister and he needs Dany’s help to get her back, but Jon says she’s not home right now...
Where could she beeeeeee?? Welp, we hop back over the the Lannister wagon train, which, again, Jaime and Bronn are just sitting and watching. Apparently they are much closer the the Crownlands (or in the Crownlands?) than they had been at the beginning of the episode... They then decide to have some not-so-subtle small talk with Dickon Tarly, whom Jaime again calls Rickon, about how he fought pretty decently at Highharden but how he has yet to be really tested. THEN GUESS WHAT HAPPENS, GUYS??? The show is interrupted by a screening of Dances with Wolves--no, wait, that’s just the Dothraki streaming over the hill to fuck shit up... along with Dany riding Drogon.
COMMENCE BATTLE #371 TO DISTRACT THE VIEWERS FROM THE SHITTY WRITING!!!
Yes, it’s all very exciting and well-executed, if you ignore:
The Dothraki would have had to circumvent KL somehow to get there.
They couldn’t have gone by ship because Euron destroyed Dany’s fleet.
Horse-Surfing™
The scene was 90% about Bronn?? For some reason??
Dany, who not 10 minutes ago was complaining about not being able to feed her army, proceeds to destroy all the gold and grain the Lannisters were hauling.
Gratuitous horse violence because “edgy” I guess
WHY/HOW IS TYRION THERE?
So the big climax comes when Bronn gets promoted from Bronn of the Blackwater to Bronn of the Big-Ass Crossbow. Yes, in yet another ham-fisted callback to an early season, Bronn figures out how to use the giant ballista and fires an arrow straight into Drogon’s shoulder, forcing Dany to land. While she’s down, Tyrion is standing off to the side and spots Jaime on the battlefield and is mumbling for him to get the fuck out of there. But this is Jaime Fookin’ Lannister, he doesn’t run away from anything, especially his toxic co-dependent relationship with his twin sister!! So he grabs a spear and begins to charge toward Dany like he at the Hand’s Tourney (except we never actually saw him joust at the Hand’s Tourney, so once again, emotional impact of this moment is M.I.A.). Just as he’s about to strike, Drogon turns and is about to make him dragon kibble when he is rescued at the last second by, presumably, Bronn, and is swept away beneath an extremely deep puddle that just happened to be nearby. The End.
I know there are a lot of show-critics today who are super hyped about this battle (which is apparently a “reference” to the Field of Fire, ugh), but guys... sorry, no. I am way past the point where a showy battle scene is going to make up for all the nonsense that came before it. They’ve tried this trick already -- it was called “Hardhome”. It didn’t work on me then, and it won’t work on me now. I would have rather seen a more meaningful reunion between the Stark sisters than another expensive spectacle. If this is why the direwolves have disappeared, then sorry, I don’t consider it a fair trade-off.

7.01 Thoughts
Watching the premiere last night was so much fun, you guys! I loved it and don’t have any complaints to make. So far it seems like 1. the leaks are probably real and 2. they did not do the season justice. I think this is going to be an epic story, maybe our best season yet! I have a lot to say so I’m putting it under the cut.
So from the outset I absolutely loved the opener with Arya and the Freys. It was really clever how there were small hints of it really being Arya in his overall demeanor and the way David Bradley approached the scene. And the “proper wine for proper lords” line reminded me of when Arya insisted to Tywin Lannister that her parents taught her to “talk proper.”
The big reveal and her declaration that “The North remembers, and Winter came for House Frey” gave me instant chills and I LOVED it. It does worry me a tiny bit though, if I’m honest. At Con of Thrones I sat on a panel about the women in Westeros and when one of the speakers asked the audience if Arya is “too far gone,” almost everyone raised their hand in agreement. I was LIVID and scandalized and couldn’t have disagreed more. But we are starting to see a more ruthless side to her.
Don’t get me wrong--revenge narratives are my absolute favorite thing in the world and I was CHEERING when those Freys died. And from what Arya said to them, they all played an actual role in the RW and aren’t innocent. But at the same time, when she came upon those Lannister soldiers she was looking at their weapons and seemingly planning a way to kill them at first. And that makes me sad. I want her to be in a place where she can trust again. She deserves it, and seeing her laugh with them was one of my favorite moments in the episode.
Speaking of those Lannister soldiers, what an unexpected treat! Starting with BotB last year, I really feel like the show is doing a better job of reflecting the harsh realities of war, and one of those realities is that not everyone on the opposing side is evil. War is full of all kinds of people and the way it destroys so many lives, even those of good people, is part of what makes it so awful.
Sure, Ed Sheeran’s derpy face out of nowhere was funny for a second, but this scene was moving (at least to me) and clearly it moved Arya, too, who we can assume was finding common ground with these men, especially the one who mentioned love between a father and daughter. As sweet and wholesome (who would have thought I’d be using those adjectives in a GoT recap?!) as this scene was, I do think it hints at a darker future for these men. We might see them dead on the battlefield against Dany’s army in the very near future, and I dread that.
We didn’t get much from Bran and Meera but I was glad to at least see them. I got a chuckle out of Edd asking for proof that Bran is truly a Stark, and instead of providing real proof he just says some cryptic and broody stuff about Winter and Edd is like, “Yep. Kin of Jon Snow for sure.”
Speaking of Jon, I loved the scenes in Winterfell. They were surprisingly tense but also offered moments of humor and warmth. The Jon and Sansa face-off was interesting because I can see both sides of the argument.
But I found it odd that she brought up Robb, who took the opposite approach to Jon’s when it comes to handling Karstark treachery by beheading their lord. So by contrast I think Jon’s level-headedness is smart and fitting in this scenario.
If there weren’t ice zombies marching South then perhaps the Starks could afford to hold their allies at arm’s length or hurt some feelings by punishing the Karstarks and Umbers. But as things stand they need a united North to face the WW and Jon made the right call. I feel like this was confirmed when Ned Umber was revealed to be a small child younger than Rickon. Rendering him homeless in the middle of Winter isn’t justice.
I also really like that Jon is making it a point to have the women train for the war as well. Women need to be able to defend themselves just as much as men, and of course I loved how this moment gave Lyanna a chance to shine. It was my understanding that Mormont women already trained in fighting to some extent but I’m excited to see what Jon’s new policies mean for the future. And when Lyanna was setting Lord Glover straight, Brienne looked SO PROUD of that fiery little future warrior woman and I was LIVING.
Anyway, overall I enjoyed getting a glimpse of Jon’s ruling strategy which so far seems really solid. And KING Jon is the sexiest thing that I have ever seen in my life. The maester calling Jon “Your Grace” almost killed me. Things are only going to get better from here :)
Also in Winterfell I loved seeing Sansa sass Littlefinger into silence, which I didn’t even know was possible. It was hilarious and savage and I love her spirit and snark so much. It’s good to see that even though D&D are trying to trick us into thinking that dark!Sansa or Stark Bowl is happening, the reality is that Sansa is not even remotely fooled by LF and is only arguing with Jon to voice her opinion--as she should.
The Brienne and Tormund shippy moment was hilarious and a good way to break the tension of the previous scene. It was cute how Brienne was just training with Pod calmly and normally until Tormund arrived and then since she can’t handle feelings she just turned it up to eleven and basically beat the hell out of poor Pod hahaha. It seems some scenes with them were cut but I am excited to see where it goes from here, even though in my heart I ship Jaime x Brienne.
Speaking of Jaime his conversation with Cersei was deliciously awkward. I loved when she asked him if he was afraid of her and he responded, “Should I be?” That’s the question on all our minds, Jaime. Well actually I want to know if SHE should be afraid of YOU, Mr. Valonqar ;)
This scene was very interesting to me as someone who is looking forward to the Jon/Dany pairing because Cersei emphasizing that she and Jaime are the last Lannisters who are poised to start a dynasty parallels how Jon and Dany, the last Targaryens, will soon be in a similar position. But while one pairing represents fear and oppression the other represents hope for a better and more progressive future for the realm.
I also think that that conversation revealed how far Cersei has slipped in terms of her sanity. She called her son a traitor for killing himself. Not good. Not good at all. But at the same time this conversation also foreshadows Cersei’s potential pregnancy with another heir. If that plays out, it will be interesting to see how it effects her schemes and Jaime’s perception of her.
Their meeting with Euron was much funnier and more interesting than I expected. First and foremost I just want to establish that I really enjoyed Euron’s sexy trash pirate outfit haha. He looked great. And the humor he brought to his villainy was reminiscent of Ramsay, who I will honestly miss on the show. So I’m glad to see that he will be as scene-stealing and maniacal as I’d hoped. Also, “two good hands” is the new pickup line for the ages lol.
The scenes of the Brotherhood were surprisingly emotional and it absolutely wrecked me to see Sandor so visibly affected by the deaths of that farmer and his daughter. I also pitied him a lot when he was looking into the fire and seemed absolutely SHOOK at what he saw there. I think of The Hound as a simple man who DID NOT sign up for a zombie war.
While there was a lot of humor in his relentless roasting of Thoros (lmao @ the “top knot” comment) the grave-digging scene showed us Sandor’s depth and continued redemption, and also hinted at a possible friendship between him and Thoros later on :)
Sam’s plot was the least interesting to me but I understand that we need to establish what his life is like at the Citadel and get some more low key scenes of him and Gilly researching to set up the big! reveals! they will give us later in the season.
The poop montage was absolutely revolting but really well done and I liked how they contrasted the shit with the soup and showed how they sort of became one and the same to poor Sam. But as gross as that was, the most disturbing part for me was Jorah reaching through the bars. For them to only show his arm, he must be looking very bad right now so I hope they hurry up and show his cure soon. The fact that even in his current plight, he is still eager for news of Dany is honestly really touching as much as I don’t ship Jorah and Dany.
Oh! and Jim Broadbent was perfect as the arch maester! I love him so much and got lots of Harry Potter feels from his voice + Sam sneaking into the restricted section of the library haha.
And of course, the last and most important plot line from this episode--Dany! I love her so very much and have waited so many years for Dany to be in Westeros. I had company over to watch the episode but still couldn’t hold back the tears when she arrived. Emilia’s face in this scene was just so intense and filled with longing and relief. I LOVE IT SO MUCH YOU GUYS OH MY GOOOODDD.
Dany in Westeros really is a game-changing event and I can’t believe we’re this blessed.
So Dragonstone itself looks beautiful and I’m glad we’re getting to see more of it than we did with Stannis. I also enjoyed the way they decided to play this scene with no dialogue. No witty quips from Tyrion or surly observations from Grey Worm, just letting the scenery and the actors’ body language carry the weight.
My favorite moment was Dany walking up to the throne, the throne of Aegon I himself, something she’s been dreaming about for years, and WALKING RIGHT BY IT, instead focusing her attention on the sort of council chamber where she and her companions will work together as a TEAM. Because as much as people try to tear her down, at heart Dany is a team player who is growing and changing and I am so excited to see where her story goes from here.
Lastly, as a Jonerys shipper, I think this bolder, more assertive Jon is someone who Dany will be instantly intrigued by. I also think that the peek at the next episode and the line delivered to Jon about not trusting Targaryens is going to set up an interesting dynamic for their relationship. Because Jon isn’t going to listen to that person and automatically distrust Dany based on her Targaryen heritage. His actions this episode should be final proof that he isn’t going to judge someone for the sins of their father.
But I do think that both of them having such strong ideals and ideas of how to approach repairing the realm at this moment in the narrative, when Dany probably hasn’t even heard of WW, is going to cause some friction. They will challenge one another at first. But as the season progresses I think they’re going to find like-minded allies in each other and it’s going to be a beautiful partnership to watch :’) Overall I loved this episode so, so much and can’t wait for next week, and of course episode three. A Jonerys meeting!
If you’ve read this far, thanks for caring about my thoughts haha. What did you think about this episode and what do you hope to see moving forward?
