Do you guys notice how when Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers union, started planning a general strike, he did it by a) targeting his messaging towards unions with the ability to safely and effectively strike in large numbers, b) laid out a clear, actionable plan for those unions to follow (setting contracts to all expire at the same time, since many unions cannot strike while under contract), c) is using union contracts to set clear, actionable demands that can be met in order to gauge success and provide an end goal, and d) started organizing FOUR YEARS before the proposed strike date to give people the chance to plan accordingly, because it takes a really freaking long time to get tens of millions of people organized?

You notice how he didn't do it by slapping a message on Twitter saying 'hey nobody go to work on Monday, that'll really show 'em'?

#those 'monday is a general strike stay home if you can!!!' posts are SO performative and they really annoy me #like. you MUST know you can't organize a general strike of tens of millions of people by sharing an infographic on twitter. Right? #don't even get me started on the most recent one that was like 'we understand the last strike only gave one day of notice' #'so this time we're giving you two! strike is on tuesday everyone don't forget!' #like GENUINELY was that supposed to be a joke #the linked article also touches on how difficult actual organizing a workplace is which is nice #because they mention previous failed attempts in which organizers basically just handed out leaflets #and assumed the benefits would be obvious. which i think is basically the equivalent of posting an infographic on twitter #which is to say - not effective at all. Organizing is a LOT of work! Running an effective union even more so! #labor rights

i think a lot of people should google datenschutz/gdpr and how it protects people who bring in a complaint to their workplace/place of study before you start calling for the investigation to be published

Hi, thank you for reading! Unfortunately Tumblr auto-flags anything with that tag as "mature" (which gets your blog slapped with a mature label as a whole, which causes a lot of hassle in terms of people being able to see it freely, etc- plus, everyone's blog is auto-set to filter out Mature posts, and not everyone knows how to toggle that feature off or even that they have to)

#Currently reading #been a while since I did a reading update #'Gardens of the Moon' had fascinating worldbuilding but I found it difficult to read/follow #'Mass Effect: Annihilation' was great - loved seeing non-Council aliens taking the spotlight #poor Perturabo (Hammer of Olympia) someone give that primarch a hug #It was good to see more exploring of Navigator houses in 'Rites of Passage' but it felt too generic (especially for 40k) #'Legends & Lattes' was adorable and cosy and heartwarming 'nuff said #'An Unnatural Life' was interesting! I wish it was longer #'The Dawn of Everything' was a blast and an absolute must-read #'Spark of Revolution' was also great - love an abhuman revolution against workplace tyranny!

Lately I've been asking myself this question more and more, but

What happens when sinners are killed?

And like, not by angelic weapons. Just some random knife. Or Glock.

Because being killed with angels weapon is pretty straightforward - you cease to exist.

(There's something about your "remaining dark energy" being able to give inanimate objects some kind of sentience, but I'm not going to focus on it rn.)

Hellborn outside of royalty seem also to fall under this, but they can be killed with any weapon. Angelic weapons are probably just more painful.

But what happens when you kill those who already died?

Cause they can feel pain, weapons inflict damage on them and for Cannibal Colony to exist there must be some corpses to cannibalize (I won't believe that they eat only hellborn). But at the same time "only angel weapons are able to kill them permanently".

What does this mean? Does it mean that you just kind of respawn in set spawnpoints after you're killed, something like in gta? Does your power levels rise with each day not being killed? Is that's how sinners become Overlords? By having the highest Not Dying streak? Can you check how many times someone died? Do you get kind of restarted with all your memory whiped and new identity? Do you just get logged off to a "different server", so to speak? Could this be a moment when you can be redeemed? Whoever is responsible for choosing where to send you having to check each time your Good to Bad Deeds Ratio to be sure to send you to a correct place?

I can’t stop feeling guilty about not doing enough at work. Like I don’t even care about my job, I just feel ineffective. It’s also the dread of knowing all the stuff I still need to get done next week but it’s just ugh. I’ve got the job, I’m set to keep it. It is a source of income. Why do I feel guilty about not being productive?

like hearing an autistic person talking abt realizing like "oh so friendships for some ppl don't involve always having to maintain a performance" and going damn right yeah and now "oh so friendships for some ppl involve their getting to expect that the other ppl will be interested in them and provide support" like huh go figure. more surprising like oh right i guess i always felt like interactions require maintaining a performance that can only go wrong (generally true; like there's no "well you're ruining things by keeping ppl from being the Real You so just Be Yourself" like a] masking isn't Real or done by Yourself or b] like if you unmask people like you now & ableism is over, b/c it was your fault for reacting to it in the first place) & thus also that i should be interested & provide support but not expect that in turn / the sense as well that you are/can only come up short and have things to make up for anyways while lucky whoever's even providing the time of day

then it's always an Exercise to go "oh right well beyond going [my god autistic character] the whole time, what Things re: winston billions was i still not quite seeing as as unusual / Not Good as they are. even for billions" like sure noticing he's holding on to the hopes of some kind of positive / actual relationship w/rian for like year 950 & this manifesting with the Determined Friendliness but zooming in like oh i guess that adamant amicability sure involves winston suppressing a negative reaction to negative treatment and yet still hoping for an improvement, which like, was always Possible but a) hinged on rian simply choosing to change how she regards/treats him (or someone intervening to change the situation) & b) apparently is not going to happen. thinking like yeah that's very Friendly of him. and knowing like man winston's sure still trying to keep this friendliness offer open for like two years. but also now more specifically going like Yeah and pretty fucked then that his baseline expectations don't include that Mutual Interest & Support (though someone being abusive is definitely interested just not in any good ways. and certainly not (actually) supportive)
