I am ruined.

TW: Rape.

I wasn’t wearing clothes that exposed me, I was fully covered yet those men had no shame and still put their sickening bodies inside me and left me there to rot.

They have taken my respect and I can no longer function in society like a normal human being, I have been ruined, shamed in front of the world, in front of my children.

I cannot eat, I cannot sleep, I cannot breathe without having that shameful feeling that someone put themselves inside me forcefully and I was helpless.

I screamed and no one could hear me.

Did anyone even care?

Fight for me, raise your voices because I cannot. I have been ruined and now I am nothing.

I want to die but where will my children go? I cannot leave them in the hands of those who do not demand justice for what happened to me or those who are silenced every second of everyday.

Please fight for me and keep on fighting. Not just for me but for every helpless victim of these savages who do not consider us anything but an object of abuse.

Confused?!?!?

So basically i feel like i am in this never ending night mare some days are good but most days are bad and it seems like the good days always turn bad! I have left this situtation multiple times but find myself right back in it! I know alot of people say why do it or why go back i honestly wish i had an answer i just feel like i cant not... i know that i am so tired of it though i always think that things are going to change but i am realizing more and more that they are going to and if i want it to change that i am going to have to be that change i just dont know how much longer i can hold on to myself to be able to make that change.

Hey peeps, so, holy shit, Alabama just passed some legislation stating that doctors who perform abortions can go to prison for up to 99 years. Is this terrifying? Absolutely, yes. Is it bullshit? Yes. If you’re mad, if you’re scared, if you’re sad: this is all valid. It is okay to feel these feelings. Do I sound extremely calm in this post? Don’t worry I’m livid. I just also have a lot of experience with my job at keeping my text devoid of frothing rage when I need it to. So let’s get down to the real business of this post, which is: what do we do? Here is a transcript of a podcast about the worst case scenario, the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Andrea Grimes is a staunch advocate for abortion access and knows her stuff; I believe what she says. She also works for If/When/How, an organization that fights for reproductive justice that I’ll be linking later. There are options to fight this if you’re feeling it (and if you have a couple of dollars).

Here is a GoFundMe for the Alabama Women’s Center: They’re one of the agencies fighting for women’s access to abortions in the state! This helps pay for their legal counsel. It’s well over the posted goal, but given the current state of affairs, think of it as money they will need going forward.

The Yellowhammer Fund: The Yellowhammer Fund is an organization that helps Alabama citizens seeking care at one of the state’s THREE abortion clinics in any way they need it. This can be access to travel, a place to stay, paying for their procedure. You get the picture -- most of this legislation disadvantages poorer citizens the most! So donating now will help them get more people served before this shitty new law takes effect. WomenHelpWomen: WomenHelpWomen is an international organization focused on self-managed abortions. Their goal is to both provide information to change the nature of the discourse around abortion, and also to provide medication so that a woman can have one if they lack access to the procedural version. If you feel on the fence about abortion pills, I’d advise giving their information resources a close examination -- there is a lot of misinformation out there about this method and part of their organizational goals is to counter that campaign. National Network of Abortion Funds: The NNAF is a network of 70 organizations devoted to doing what Yellowhammer does on a smaller scale; they want to eliminate the financial and logistical barriers that limit access to abortions for some people in need of one. This can be transportation, translation, lodging, childcare, doula services, it just depends on what the community around them looks like. They have a myriad of ways to give, which you can check out on this page.

If/When/How: If/When/How is an organization for reproductive justice. It’s a nationwide team of lawyers, law students, legal professionals and activists who seek to achieve justice via legal action. They have swag! You can donate and get it! They also have ways to get involved, even if you don’t have a legal background.

In conclusion, yes shit be scary right now. But there are options, there are the methods and means. And if you can’t donate yourself? Share the links! Share the information! The organizations on the opposite side of this issue in large part bank on you being uninformed and scared. They bank on you being appalled at the cruelty. The cruelty is the point. I’m not saying you cannot feel these feelings, but you’ve definitely gotta out-think and out-research these folks.

Women.

I have seen women struggle; I have seen women broke down; I have seen women begged for a love they never deserved; I have seen women cried themselves to sleep; I have seen women work for more than 12 hours a day for weeks; I have seen insecure women when all I could see in them was perfection; I have seen women being abused and mistreated, but I have never seen a woman gave up. Yet they are treated with disrespect, being used and they are devalued. Women have learned to stand up for themselves and not to be too dependent among men. No matter how much you break us, we will still end up strong and courageous at the end of the day, we will make sure we won’t get to be treated the same way ever again. Being a woman in this generation seems really hard because many people discriminate our capabilities but many are not aware that, we, women, are not just strong but we are also intelligent. We are worth every dime this world has, we are more than what you think we are, we could climb up over a mountain and still put a smile on our faces. We are MORE.

Better yet, treat your woman right because when you’ve got a good woman, you’ve gotten yourself the world.
