Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays a crucial role in the development of the baby's brain and eyes during pregnancy. It is particularly important during the third trimester of pregnancy when the baby's brain is undergoing rapid growth. While DHA is naturally found in fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines, some prenatal vitamins also include DHA to ensure that pregnant women are getting an adequate supply of this essential nutrient.
Sugar is such a soother because it causes the release of dopamine, also known as a happy hormone. However, other things can stimulate dopamine too!
