1151+1153. “Shut up and kiss me.” “Stay with me forever.”
This was prompted by the awesome @anxiousmessofaperson! Enjoy!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900 (Warnings: mentioning of severe injury, temporary character death (both for an android))
An android’s processor was always active. Always running millions of tasks, calculating and pre-constructing. And the processor of an RK900 was the most advanced ever created. That allowed him to analyse their planned tactic for today’s mission over and over again, thinking of all possible outcomes and complications, and simultaneously preparing his partner a coffee. He gladly helped the human and would likely do anything for him. Unfortunately, Gavin Reed had only ever asked for a coffee. Nines had joined forces with Tina for that reason, but even his best friend wasn’t able to have a serious talk with him. Still, they would not back down. If Nines could be anything then persistent.
He continued to let two sugar cubes fall into the thermos and started stirring. He should get back to them, but he decided to linger as he overheard Gavin and Tina speak to each other. Apparently, he had taken too long for the human and he had decided to pass the time with a chat. ‘Did you ever think of dating an android?’, Tina asked, and Nines immediately had his hearing amplified. ‘Hah! Why are you asking?’ Of course, Gavin would evade the question and laugh it off. ‘Found someone?’ ‘Maybe.’ Nines could practically hear her smile. He knew a specific receptionist had caught Tina’s eye. But that was their secret. ‘But don’t you chicken out now. Would you?’ ‘Pff… You know, I would have given a clear no just a few months ago. But with the revolution and all… Maybe? I don’t know, I would have to know one for that first, I guess.’ ‘Hmm… You know Connor?’ ‘Are you shitting me? Plastic Detective sent by my brother’s phcking empire? Hell no. Never. I mean, he looks alright and all that but… Hey, I would also have a buy one get two deal going whatever his relationship with Hank is. And… no, I’m a disaster myself, I don’t need another one.’ ‘What’s with Nines then? You know him, too. And he basically has the looks of Connor but sharper.’
Needless to say, the coffee was forgotten by now.
‘Nines?’ It stayed quiet for some time. The laughter: ‘Come on Tina! That’s Nines.’ ‘And?’ ‘Have you seen the tin-can? He’s all cold calculation and his missions. Hadn’t I known him pre-deviation, I would have said the thing’s still a machine.’ ‘He has a lot of emotions, Gavin and you know it.’ ‘Yeah, anger and fury and an overall sense of not-my-phcking-problem. That’s not emotions, Tina, that’s a defence mechanism. It’s not like he could feel anything that is nice, it’s not like he could be earnestly passionate. And it’s not his fault, I mean, he wasn’t built for that. But I need someone who, you know, wants to be with me because of these feelings, not because it’s what I want.’ ‘I think he likes you a lot.’ ‘Maybe. But it’s not like he would suddenly shout “I love you, shut up and kiss me! Now!” He’s a machine for all it’s worth, Tina. He doesn’t feel anything.’ Nines had to concentrate a good fraction of his processing power to keep his LED on yellow and his hand from crushing the brushed steel of the thermos in his hand. ‘A machine that’s phcking late. Tell him I’m in the car once he decided to re-emerge!’
Nines shook out of it, screwing the lid on and walking out to Tina’s desk. ‘Oh god, Nines, you heard all of it, didn’t you?’, Tina rushed to say. ‘Shit, I’m so sorry! He’s just embarrassed, I’m sure. He knows you feel a lot. And he’s wrong. I just… I was too quick to ask him something like that.’ ‘No’, Nines interrupted her. ‘He is right. I would never shout that.’ ‘But only because you are shy and thoughtful, and he is brash and aggressive! Don’t lose faith, he is just an idiot. But I know the only reason he is like this is because he thinks he isn’t worth you. Give him time and he will be convinced you mean it!’ ‘If you say so. I’m sorry. We have a mission. And I’m late. I should go.’ He left for the front door and Tina watched him walk away. Only then did her gaze stray to her desk and a familiar thermos stand on it. ‘Hey, Nines, you-‘ She looked for the android, but he was already gone. ‘forgot something…’
-
They pulled up to an abandoned Cyberlife store amidst the abandoned district of Detroit and Gavin killed the engine. ‘Ready, tin-can?’, he asked joyfully. ‘Of course, Detective.’ ‘Oh, so we’re back to “Detective”? What did I do wrong this time?’ ‘Nothing major’, Nines answered as neutral as he possibly could. ‘You just talked.’ ‘Watch out, toaster!’, Gavin mocked, holding a hand to his chest. ‘It sounded almost like you had a sense of humour!’ Nines stayed silent and exited the car. ‘Oh wow’, Gavin sighed, following his partner. ‘So, we are particularly pissed together. What’s happened? Someone hurt your simulated robo-feelings?’ Nines looked the man dead in the eye. ‘Only some prick I thought was my friend.’ Gavin squirmed under his gaze, but like so often laughed to hide it. ‘What, you have friends?’ Nines looked away. ‘You know, sometimes I question that myself… Let’s go, we have work to do.’ ‘Yeah, fine, how do we do this?’ ‘We have worked out a plan together. You know how, Detective.’ ‘Okay, okay! Goddamn, whoever it was who pissed you off, I guess he won’t live long.’
They climbed through a broken window and slipped into the store. It was completely empty, the pedestals for androids on display were barren and only a lone dead android laid in some corner. Well, his torso at least. Where the rest was, not even Nines could reconstruct. They strode through the shop, Nines taking to whichever corner he hadn’t looked at that was also farthest from Reed. They suspected a Red Ice lab somewhere around this shop. All their evidence led to a graffiti that was used as a marker for it on the outer wall. ‘Hey, Nines, has this phcker been moved recently?’ The android decided to ignore the undignified way the Detective referred to a dead body – he had done far worse today – and knelt down in front of the unit. ‘Yes’, he pressed out. ‘Figured. His clothing is raised up. He has been dragged.’ Nines nodded and scanned the body’s shoulders. ‘Fingerprints’, he murmured. ‘Belonging to Axel Bernhardi. Was at the station once already. Attempted theft of an android. Served community service for three months.’ ‘Great. Any clue to-‘ ‘The android has been moved recently’, Nines interrupted and Gavin grunted. ‘Fine. Any clue to where he is then?’ Nines inspected the android’s clothing closer. ‘The body had been pulled from two directions. First up, then from the back into the direction of the wall.’ ‘What?’ Nines stood up and pulled the android away, unveiling a narrow whole with a ladder underneath. ‘Phck, is he still there?’, Gavin whispered and after a quick scan Nines nodded. The human took out his gun and was about to climb down, but Nines held him back. The Detective might have been a total idiot today, but Nines wouldn’t let him slide ass first into danger. He pushed off his white Cyberlife jacket, wriggled himself into the narrow space and scraped along the walls downwards. He heard Gavin following him but concentrated on climbing and listening to any noise from underneath him.
They found back on solid ground in a room that had been excavated by handheld machines. It was newer than the building above, likely dug just to house the lab. They stood in front of a curtain made from milky plastic sheets. Light flooded from behind it covering everything in a cold glow. Someone was moving behind the curtain, Nines suspected it to be Mr. Bernhardi. He held his finger to his lips before taking his own gun and taking position in front of the curtain. Gavin stood behind him ready to jump on his notice.
Nines counted down from three with his right hand, then they both entered, shouting: ‘DPD, away from the table!’ The red-haired man was shocked to the bone and stared at both of them speechless. Thankfully he stepped back from the table and another step into the room. Only then did Nines have the chance to scan the room and regretted his manoeuvre immediately. The first thing he noticed was an escape route dug into the water drainage system of Detroit. The second was a big red button on the wall. The third that the man was side eyeing the button and the fourth that it led somewhere behind them. All of that was detected in the same second Mr. Bernhardi decided that attempted theft wasn’t enough to his folder. He jumped to the side, pressed the button and darted out of the room into the sewers. Gavin reacted fast enough to shoot but missed and Nines had reacted even faster than Gavin had, throwing himself on the Detective as behind him the bomb went off. The impact made them scoot across the floor and ripped apart Nines entire back hull, but the human was okay, Gavin was okay. And he himself was okay too. Technically. For the next few seconds. Enough to realise the structural integrity of the room was failing. He picked himself and the Detective groaning underneath him up and ran to the escape route. The room would collapse every second now, but the sewer system would hold out. He managed to get himself to the edge of the room as it collapsed and Gavin had recovered enough to pull him out after him before the rubble slid into the canal. ‘Oof, that was close…’, Gavin panted, adrenaline still flushing his body. ‘Hey, tin-can, you okay?’ No. The seconds that Nines had been okay had run out now. The little rivulet in the canal was quickly more Thirium than water and Nines couldn’t even begin to process the damage warnings coming into view. ‘Ga…vin…’ ‘Shit! Nines!’ The human was immediately next to him. ‘Nines! What’s wrong? Hey, Nines!’ The android wasn’t capable of clear thoughts anymore. All he knew that there was so much damage, so much, so much. He felt the Thirium depleting and his systems running burning hot as a result. He knew he would shut down soon and he wasn’t sure he was repairable. There were so many warnings and notices… He didn’t want to stop existing. There was so much left to do, so much left to say. Despite everything he still wanted to tell Gavin what he felt and hopefully the human would allow it. Gavin… Where was he? Was he still there? Had he left him behind like the useless piece of plastic he was? Was he off chasing the criminal, Nines’ death only a footnote in some report? Maybe repairing him would be too expensive. But Gavin would want that, right? They were a good team, right? ‘Ga…vin?’ His hands searched for purchase and they grabbed something, although Nines didn’t know what that was. He hoped it was his human. ‘Stay… with… me…’ He heard laughter over thick static and held onto it. ‘Heh, for how long, toaster. Come on, get your ass up, we have a criminal to catch!’ Nines imagined how it would be to simply do that. It would be wonderful. Gavin sounded scared. Why was he scared? Too many questions, too many thoughts. Only one that counted: ‘Ga…vin… stay… with… me… forever…’
[Warning: Core temperature critical.] [Commencing emergency shutdown.] [Unit deactivated.]
-
The machine above him was busy. Multiple arms fastened to an enormous joint in the ceiling moved back and forth, getting rid of old bent metal and torn plastic and gathering new parts for assembly. Under Gavin’s dull gaze lights flickered and wires were reconnected, Thirium-tubes were sealed and refilled. Gavin saw it all and noticed nothing. He was too deep in his thoughts, the only thing he really felt the android’s hand in his.
Tina had told him everything.
Every talk she had with the tin-can, every carefully selected detail Nines trusted her with over time, every little thing Nines liked about him and every minute gesture he had failed to realise as Nines being friendly to him. Tina had told him Nines liked him. Had a crush on him. Kinda. It was weird to think of the android in such ways. He had never shown any signs of affection towards him. Or maybe Gavin had just never bothered to look for them. If he was being honest, he couldn’t really believe it. The android was… Even if Nines had been a human, he would have been way out of his league. He was a functioning person; he didn’t look out for a new disaster to dive into and didn’t create them if he didn’t find one. He was kind, in his own way. He never spoke or emoted much. But…
God, Gavin had taken his extremely slow pace, his careful steps as a sign the android wasn’t interested in anyone at all. He had even told him he didn’t feel anything, that he was simulating everything and… “Stay with me forever.” Shit.
‘Hey… errr… tin-can…’ He took a few breaths, following the mechanic arms. There were fewer now. Nines back was nearly fully restored. ‘I don’t know if you can hear me. But I’m sorry. For all that I’ve said. I just… I never thought… I… I’m a huge idiot, okay?’ He couldn’t keep his composure and a part of him hoped Nines couldn’t hear him. ‘I am a dumb, dumb human, who only understands what someone wants if they push it into my face so hard it hurts, and you were so gentle with… with everything. Phck I didn’t notice any of it and you were trying so hard to be perfect when this asshole right here can’t handle perfect and I should phcking go, because you don’t deserve someone like me and-‘ ‘Gavin.’ There was an impossibly faint pressure on his hand from where the android was squeezing his. Gavin couldn’t do anything but stare at the smile on Nines’ face. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t talk, he could only stare. ‘Shut up and kiss me.’

Fanfic Meme
I was tagged by @agirlnamedkeith
At what age did you start writing fanfiction?
I was 31. And yes, that was a couple of decades ago. I am not just fandom old, but old old.
Who is your favorite author?
I have favourites in every fandom, and I’ve been in a lot of fandoms. Also, inevitably, if I tried to list them, I’d wind up forgetting some. I’ve written lots of recs over the years, and you can find quite a few of them here on my dreamwidth account. (I hardly used dreamwidth at all for about five years until about six months ago, so there’s a gap between the recent few recs and the earlier ones.)
But yeah, okay, if I had to pick my favourite authors over a long time and across many fandoms, then the two constants would be @telanu and Nym. Yes, they’re two of my best friends, but the reason why I wound up talking to them in the first place was because I loved their writing, and that hasn’t changed over the many years I’ve known them.
Favorite type of scene to write?
I love writing long, navel-gazy descriptive stuff. Description comes easily to me, and my aim in any fanfic is to get under the POV character’s skin and find out what makes them tick, so inward-looking description just makes the words flow for me.
Dialogue, otoh, is something that I don’t enjoy writing so much. People have told me that I’m quite good at it, but when I’m writing dialogue I’m always hyper-aware that one wrong sentence, or even one wrong word, that isn’t in-character can throw out an entire paragraph or an entire scene.
What is your favorite fanfic?
Again, so many fandoms, so many great pieces of fanfic. If you read the links to my recs above, you’ll get an idea of the sorts of stories I like.
One story that sticks out above others, though, is Nym’s A Bed of Thorns. It is an IMMENSE story, longer than War and Peace, and it’s still a WIP, though Nym dearly wants to finish it.
It’s a Once Upon a Time Rumpelstiltskin/Belle (rumbelle) canon divergence, where instead of going with Rumpelstiltskin to be his servant/sort of captive, Belle marries him. You know all that navel-gazing description that I like to write? It’s even better when someone else does it for me, and when that someone is a writer as talented as Nym... This story is chock full of character exploration, including character exploration via a LOT of sex scenes, and angst, and fluff, and more angst, and plot, and memorable original characters and original cats. There is nothing else like it in any fandom. Read it.
What tags do you avoid like the plague?
Very little. I’ll read just about anything if it’s well-written. I dislike anything where the author’s kink (not necessarily a sexual kink) trumps the characterisation. If the kink is used in service of the character exploration, rather than the other way around, then that’s fine, though. Because of this, stuff like Alpha/Beta/Omega really doesn’t work for me.
What AU do you wish to write but feel like you won’t manage?
Not so long ago, I would have said that the one AU I’d LOVE to write but wouldn’t be able to manage was a novel length Regency AU. I’ve written Regency one-shots in other fandoms, but I didn’t think I would have the strength for a longer Regency AU. But, um, well... You I Know.
Do you outline or write as you go?
Hahaha. I’ve have TRIED to outline. It doesn’t work for me. My outlines turn into drafts of scenes. I do work with a sketchy mental outline of the main beats of the story, a sort of skeleton that will be filled in with the flesh and blood of detail as I write. There are going to be about half a dozen distinct sections to my current WIP, and those will keep me writing in the right direction (I hope). I do also have a list of bullet points that I keep adding to whenever a detail strikes me that I’ll want to include later on, but that’s really the extent of my planning. Oh, and I like to know approximately where the story will end up before I start putting words on the page. Until I know the destination, it’s really just a story idea rather than a story draft.
What has been your favorite story to write so far?
Very occasionally, a story is so clear in my head that I just have to write it. I can’t stop and second-guess myself; the story just has to be what it wants to be. I’ve written precisely three of this type of story over the years:
1. The Rain Keeps Falling (Harry Potter, Snape/Harry)
2. Plain Jane (Once Upon a Time, Rumple/Belle)
3. More Than a Memory (Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne)
Do you prefer to write one-shots or multi-chapters? Why?
Um, both? I mean, I am TERRIBLE at predicting the word count of my own stories, to the point where my friends just laugh when I confidently tell them how long I think my current story is going to be, so sometimes I think I’m writing a one-shot and it turns out I’m not. Case in point: More Than a Memory was going to be a one-shot of a few thousand words. Three weeks later, it ended up at 33,000 words over five chapters.
What is your favorite kind of comment?
Well, the long, detailed comment where it’s clear that someone really ‘gets’ what you were trying to do with the characters and the plot is hard to beat - but absolutely any comment is great. I view fic as being part of the fannish conversation, so when I write a story, I’m opening a conversation about the characters - the comments are the other half of that conversation. And, really, that conversation is why I’m in fandom at all, so it’s all good!
Why did you start writing fanfiction? Why are you still writing it?
Back when I first found fandom, I lurked on a Mailing List (yes, it was that long ago) devoted to one particular character. It wasn’t a big group of people, so there wasn’t masses of fic, and some of it was only so-so. And no, this is not where I tell you that I decided one day that I could write something better than what I was reading. In fact, it was the opposite. One day, someone posted a REALLY good story, and I read it and thought, “Fanfic can be like this. It can be this good.” And I wanted to be part of that, so I gathered my courage and sat down and tried writing something of my own.
Why do I still write fanfic? Well, actually, I thought I’d stopped. I hadn’t written any fanfic for a couple of years, apart from the occasional drabble, although I’d started a few stories but not finished them.
And then the final season of Game of Thrones aired, and characters I’d loved for years, without ever feeling the urge to write them, had an ending that just left me going “but... but... but...” I got that feeling where I HAD to write them, and now I’ve written over 50,000 words in six weeks.
Fandom taught me long ago that I should never say never about anything. I should have remembered that.

  Chapter 6
There was a reason why Gabriel didn’t date. The current nauseous feeling in his stomach, the way his eyes water up, how his breathing started to become labored while his head rested against his best friend’s shoulder, were reasons enough. It had been a surprise, both the knowledge that his boyfriend was seeing his co-star and how much it hurt to look at the photograph, to read the article. If it had been just the picture of Sam holding Jessica, he could have brushed it aside, but the ones he found later of Sam dragging her into his hotel. That was when the tears started to fall, and Gabriel let himself send Sam one last text before calling Chuck. His fellow author hadn’t wasted any time in coming over, and Gabriel thanked his lucky stars that he had such a great friend who merely opened his arms and let Gabriel sink into him and let go.
Still with his stomach in knots, Gabriel pulled back enough to look at the bag Chuck had dropped when he entered the room. Inside he knew he would find his favorite candy and treats; sugar was his standard vise when dealing with anything. “I really thought he wanted to make a go of it, I mean two months is a long time, right? Longer than anything I’ve had since high school… we were going to go public next month…” the blond didn’t care that his voice was horse while Chuck wrapped an arm around his shoulders and held him close.
“I can’t believe what I’m reading Gabe, I mean the way he looks at you is like you raise the sun each morning. You should know by now how horrible the press can be; a completely innocent gesture can seem perverted with the right angle. Until you hear from Sam, I wouldn’t worry about it.”
While Gabriel knew Chuck was right and trying to be comforting, it didn’t help in the least. He knew that his friend was probably right, Sam had shown no sign of being anything but faithful, in fact, Gabriel was sure if he had asked the man he would have gone public ages ago. It was Gabriel who had wanted to put their relationship behind closed doors while they sorted things out.
“That’s not what’s bothering me, Chuck, I mean I know okay… I know that he’s probably not cheating on me… but just seeing him with someone else like that? It nearly killed me, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve never-” unable to finish his sentence, Gabriel watched as Chuck started to understand what he was saying.
“Never? I mean we weren’t all that close then, but didn’t you date that one girl through like all high school? To be honest, when you got in contact with me I was surprised you two weren’t still together.”
Gabriel shook his head, wiping his eyes with his sleeve and shrugging his shoulders. “Yeah, Kali was great, but even then we knew what we had wasn’t love. I’ve never let myself get attached, you know? If this was anyone other than Sam, I would blow it off as a fling, and that would be all… I wasn’t expecting to have that picture rip into me. It’s only been two months Chuck… isn’t it too soon to get this serious?” The sympathetic look from his friend was not wanted, but Gabriel did accept the hand on his shoulder.
“I think you’re going to feel however you feel, and if I were a betting man, I would say that Sam feels the same way. Talk to him, has he tried to get a hold of you since this all went down?”
Shaking his head, Gabriel glanced at his phone which he had turned off as soon as he knew Chuck was on his way. He hadn’t wanted to chance to send Sam angry messages before he calmed down and reasoned, if he was mean enough and hit too far below the belt there was always a chance their messages could go public, and he would be ruined. Picking up the phone, Gabriel noticed that not only had Sam tried to get a hold of him, but his agent as well which was a surprise. Considering how they were trying to keep a lid on their relationship there would be no reason for his agent to contact Gabriel. Reading through Sam’s progressively panicked messages and noticing the missed phone calls, the author started to feel bad about ignoring his lover, not having seen how late it was.
Before answering Sam, however, Gabriel went to the video his agent had sent him along with a summary of how they thought the news would affect their fanbase. Opening the link, Gabriel vaguely noticed when Chuck leaned over his shoulder to watch the clip. It was a talk show interview, something Gabriel had avoided all but one per book and movie, while he loved being famous he hated having to dance for the cameras. Standing there was Sam, who looked marvelous as always until Gabriel looked closer at the screen. The makeup team had done an excellent job of making him look good, but there was a weariness in his eyes that Gabriel easily picked up on.
“…Winchester is here today to tell us about the new movie he’s staring in. But before we get to that, I have to ask, the photos from last night… is there any truth to them?”
Sam smiled slightly before shaking his head, his eyes looking somewhat pained while he did so. Gabriel held his breath when the actor spoke, needing to know what the taller man would say.
“No, there’s not. I know what you’re going to say and yes Jessica and I did go out for drinks last night, as friends. I had a few too many, and she had to carry me back to the hotel room practically, but if the photographer had stuck around, he would have seen her leaving the hotel a few minutes after arriving. I know how it looks, and while Jessica is a beautiful woman and any man would be lucky to have her, I’m not that man.”
The man who was conducting the interview nodded, though there was a slight smirk on his lips. “Sounds to me like you might like to be, you don’t have to be shy about it Sam you two would make a lovely couple.”
Once again Sam shook his head through this time instead of looking sad there was tightness in his jaw. “No, though I am glad you brought it up as it gives me a chance to clear the air a bit. I’m currently in a relationship, one I plan on being in for a long time to come.”
That seemed to knock the wind right out of the interviewer’s sails. Gabriel sucked in a breath while Sam looked at the camera and though he thought it was ridiculous, he felt like Sam could see him. “While I’m not ready to release who exactly I’ve been seeing yet as our relationship is still relatively new, I have no problem saying that I am pleased with my boyfriend and hope that you all will support our relationship once it becomes public.”
“Boyfriend?” croaked the interviewer not quite able to keep the shock out of his voice.
Sam nodded, and though Gabriel could only see him through the small screen of his phone, he could swear he felt the warmth Sam radiated at the word. “Yes, boyfriend. We’ve only been dating for a short while though and probably in the next couple of months will be making our relationship public… I ask that you give us a little while longer while it’s still new.”
Gabriel didn’t say anything, though the program continued, and the interviewer started to ask about the movie. Looking at his screen, the author took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before responding to Sam’s most recent text. They would have to be a bit more careful now that everyone knew Sam was dating a guy, but he didn’t want the actor to think he was still angry.
Chuck laughed slightly before picking up the bag he had dropped on the floor and waited for Gabriel to look up from his phone.
“I told you,” said Chuck with a smirk on his face. “Sam isn’t going to leave you, especially not for someone else. Now I’m going to take your comfort food home with me to munch on while you have make-up sex with your boyfriend.”
Gabriel barely acknowledged Chuck leaving as he waited for Sam’s answer on when he would be there, already making his way to the bathroom so he could clean up before the taller man got there. He had every intention of showing Sam exactly how pleased he was with how the man had handled what could have been a disaster, and lay claim to him all over again.
When Gabriel opened the door to reveal his boyfriend he didn’t bother speaking. Instead, he dragged the man inside and barely let him clear the door before pulling him down into a kiss. Sam didn’t protest, shucking off clothing while they tumbled their way into bed, Gabriel landing on his back before Sam crawled on top of him, quickly using his longer reach to grab a condom and the lube from the drawer. It was quick and desperate, filled with hot kisses and soft promises of how much they wanted the other. As Sam wrapped his arms around Gabriel he flipped them, so he was the one on his back, the author moaned loudly before taking the tube passed to him and getting to work.
Keeping his mouth on Sam’s skin, Gabriel licked and sucked along the sun-kissed flesh, enjoying every sound he could pull from the taller man. It was perfect, the way Sam would run his hands wherever he could reach, how when Gabriel was tugging a nipple with his teeth, Sam would look down at him with lust-blown eyes. By the time Sam was stretched, Gabriel was so impatient he nearly forgot the condom, Sam having opened the packaged and rolled it on for him. “We need to get tested… fuck Sam; I want nothing more than to be as close to you as possible… nothing between us.”
Gabriel didn’t wait for an answer before slowly pressing inside his boyfriend, the hot channel welcoming him. Though he paused once fully seated, it was only for a moment, so Sam could catch his breath before he was moving. Hips jerking, Gabriel panted against the actor’s chest, his mouth never stopping from sucking and nipping at random patches of skin. Sam ran his fingers through soft blond hair, tugging when his lover hit the right spot inside him and softly panting Gabriel’s name. While he wanted to make it last, Gabriel was so wound up from his emotional high that he barely managed to ensure Sam’s release before letting go.
Not wanting to separate, Gabriel waited as long as he could before tying the rubber and laying down beside Sam. “Did you mean that? About wanting to do this without condoms?” asked Sam, his eyes closed while he wrapped an arm around his boyfriend to pull him close.
“Yeah,” responded Gabriel, leaning against Sam and ignoring their sticky, sweaty skin for the moment. “You don’t know what it means to me that you did that interview, that you said you wanted me for a long while yet? Well, I feel the same.”
Hearing the soft laugh of joy from the body he was resting against, Gabriel couldn’t help but smile. “I figure we see how long it takes them to guess it’s me you’re with… what do you say?” Feeling a hand under his chin, Gabriel let Sam lift his head up, so they were looking into each others’ eyes.
“Sounds like a plan, but I want you to know that I would never cheat on you, Gabriel. I get why you thought what you did at first, and I’m not angry… but please if something like this happens again, we need to talk it out, okay?”
Closing the distance Gabriel gave Sam a quick kiss before agreeing. He would explain how he was more surprised by his own reaction than the picture itself later, by the way, Sam was kissing him back, his mouth was going to be too busy for the next while to say anything.
P.S. If you want to keep up to date on my writing add me to Facebook, Tumbler, Twitter or Instagram as CrowNoYami ;-) Also, if you want to see what I’m reading (I always review so you know what you’re getting into) I’m on Goodreads as well, the same name as always.

2 years later
They say that time heals all wounds. Perhaps, it really does. Or at least, we get used to living with the wounds over time. It was similar for Maya and Namjoon. They continued to float along with the course of life like a paper boat in a lake. Maya graduated with her Ph.D. and began her official journey as a writer. Her dissertation was published in the The New Yorker as a special edition piece and she was gaining traction from multiple publicists in the U.S., because they all wanted her first novel in English. But Maya was adamant about writing in Korean. She knew that’s what she was most comfortable with and what she was most passionate about, so she declined all the offers from American publishers.
Fortunately, she also received offers from countless Korean publishing companies, and it was really up to her, which company she would choose. The company she wanted to picked was Violet Inc., which in the past had published countless big titles in Korea and outside of Korea. It was one of the oldest Korean publishing companies, and most trusted. However, there was one small issue with her signing the book under the company.
They wanted her to stay in Korea while she wrote the book as they wanted to assign an editor to her that would meet with her throughout the publishing journey and make sure she was on the right track. She had tried to talk with the staff about her request of staying in America, multiple times, but they insisted that if the book was to be written in Korean, then they would need her to come personally to Korea, while she wrote and promoted the book.
Maya had taken some time to think about the offer. Truthfully, the offer wasn’t so bad. They were giving her a large advance check, which would help her finish paying off her student loans she had taken out throughout graduate school and she knew she needed to make sure she had a good editor for this novel because this was one of the most highly anticipated books. But still, she just didn’t know whether she was ready to go to Korea. Again.
The other concern that Maya had was in regards to her blog. Her blog was increasingly famous, which meant big name advertisers wanted to sponsor her blog. However, somewhere inside she was starting to feel guilty regarding the advertisements on her blog. The intention for that blog was to spread love, and somewhere along the way the blog  had become a product itself. She had decided before graduating that once she recieves her Ph.D. she would stop advertising anything on the blog. She would keep the site as it was meant to be. A mere space where she would share her wan blue thoughts.
But if she stopped advertising then how would she survive in Korea while she wrote her book? Her blog was her source of income till now. But without the sponsors she would have no income. She had gone back and forth about her options. One early morning she couldn’t fall asleep because of the stress, so she decided to call Han Bi and tell her about her dilemma.
“Hey, what’s up?” Han Bi answered as she picked up the phone. At this point Han Bi was settled in the clinic that she was working at and she had even moved to a bigger apartment recently. She and Maya had continued to stay in touch with each other all these years, and would call each almost every few days, so Han Bi was not surprised to see her call.
“Hey, are you busy?” Maya asked as she heard sounds in the background.
“Oh, no! I am just here with Junmyeon for our weekly dinner. Why? What’s wrong? You sound a bit stressed” Han Bi knew Maya quite well. She knew when her best friend was upset.
“Umm, nothing. It’s just...I just don’t know what to do. Since we last talked, I still haven’t made my decision.” Maya explained. She had told Han Bi previously about the offers she was getting and she had also told her about Violet Inc. Han Bi didn’t know what to say. She knew this was something Maya had to decide on her own. After all this was her life.
“Maya, I think there is no wrong decision here. Whichever offer you choose, you’ll end up with the same dilemma. If you don’t want to accept sponsorship for your blog, then you have to decide how you will survive till you write your book. It doesn’t matter whether you are in Korea or America.” Han Bi reminded Maya.
“Yeah, I know. That’s why I think the bigger question is whether I want to come back to Korea or not.” Maya explained.
“I see. So it seems like you don’t want to come back here. You don’t want to be around us?” Han Bi questioned.
Maya shook her head, as if Han Bi was actually in front of her and could see her expressions. “No, that’s not the case at all. I would love to see you guys again. I just…” Maya sighed. “You know why….” Maya didn’t have it in her to explain her reasoning. In her mind, she associated Korea with her time with Namjoon. As much as she loved the country, there was just something painfully nostalgic about going back.
Junmyeon who was sitting next to Han Bi, suddenly gestured Han Bi to give him her phone. Junmyeon and Maya had also been consistently in touch throughout Maya’s time in America. They didn’t talk as often, but Maya made sure he was updated on most of the things that happened in her life. Just like Han Bi, he knew about the book deals.
“Hey, Maya” Junmyeon said as he grabbed the phone from Han Bi’s hand and put it on speaker.
“Oh, hi Junmyeon Oppa, sorry to bother you guys during your dinner. I was just…”
“No, don’t be sorry. This feels like old times again. It’s nice actually.” Junmyeon laughed. “Anyways, I overheard what you were telling Han Bi….and I don’t know if you realize this but,  your reason for not accepting this offer is silly. I mean you are getting the type of deal you always wanted, aren’t you? They are giving you a nice hefty advance and they are willing to work with you throughout the process. What more could you want?” Junmyeon questioned.
“I am not sure. I guess I am just afraid. I am sure I could get a job while I work on my book, but the idea of being there again...it just scares me.”
“What are you afraid of? That guy?” Junmyeon asked referring to Namjoon. “Maya, I know it’s going to hurt when I say this, but I am sure he is already moved on from you. It’s literally been years. I think you need to move on too. And by not accepting this offer you are only limiting yourself.” Junmyeon continued.
“I know. He...he probably has.” Maya stuttered as she started the sentence and then paused. “ But you are right….I guess I just need to figure out the job situation, if I accept the offer. I really don’t want advertisements on the blog anymore. It feels wrong, you know?” Maya replied.
“I understand. But don’t worry about the job situation. I am sure you’ll find one as soon as you come here.  Just accept the offer and come back here. We all miss you!” Junmyeon responded with enthusiasm.
Han Bi took the phone back from Junmyeon. “Maya, do what feels right to you. We would love to have you back here. But only if you want to.”
“You two are too much.” Maya laughed. “But no I agree, I should do what’s good for my career, and I think the offer is too good to let go.” Maya continued.
“Wait, does this mean, you are coming then?” Han Bi asked, just to confirm.
Maya smiled. “I guess so.”
2 Months Later
Within a few months, Maya was back on the airplane back to Seoul, Korea. Maya realized that she needed to continue living her life without the shadow of her past. She accepted the offer to publish with Violet Inc.
As soon as she arrived in Korea and settled into another apartment, there was a new found energy inside of her. By this point she had already decided the topic of her new book. She knew what she was going to write about and she was excited to get started. Han Bi and Junmyeon had also helped Maya settle in, and they were trying to help her find a job that she could do while she completed her book. Maya was using the money from her advance to settle in her new place, but the money was starting to run low and she still had not found a way for a stable income.
Truthfully, Maya could have worked anywhere. She was even willing to work at some cafe or a restaurant, but Han Bi and Junmyeon were adamant about making sure that Maya found a job that was suited for someone with a doctorate. After all, Maya was now Dr. Maya Shroff. She couldn’t just work anywhere.
It was one morning a few weeks after Maya had moved to Korea, when a strange  job offer came to her from Junmyeon. Junmyeon was supposed to head to London for a few days for a fashion show, but before leaving for his flight, he dropped by Maya’s apartment to tell her about his idea.
“So tell me, what brings you here on this bright and early morning, Oppa?” Maya asked as he sat down on the chair in the living. Maya still had not purchased a couch in her living room. She kept saying she was waiting to find the right one, but somewhere inside, she knew she was procrastinating because she was afraid to fully settle into her new place. She was afraid to call it home.
“I wanted to ask something. But before I do that, take this.” Junmyeon pulled out a box and handed it to Maya. Maya was confused at first, but she took the box anyways.  A sweet smell was spreading into the room, giving away the possible contents of the box. “Wait are these rice cakes?” Maya said as she gently opened the box.
“Oh my gosh! Ahh, I missed these so much!” A bright smile appeared on Maya’s face  and she almost shouted as she saw the contents and her suspicions was proven true. Those were indeed rice cakes.
“I figured you did. I bet they don’t have those in America!” Junmyeon smiled and bragged.
“Well , they do, but they never taste as the ones here. Thank you so much! I am so excited to try them!” Maya said as she took one out of the box and offered one to Junmyeon.
“Wait! Before we eat them, I actually have something else to tell you.” Junmyeon’s bright smile disappeared and turned into expressions of nervousness and worry.
“Sure!” Maya said with curious expressions and sat down in another chair across from Junmyeon.
“Gosh, I don’t  know how to say this…” Junmyeon suddenly felt his feet get tense. He knew what he was about to say would bring out all of Maya’s anxiety, but still he felt like he at least needed to try.
“What is it? You seem a little scared, which makes me a little….scared” Maya responded as she suddenly started having flashbacks of all the times idols had sat in her living room and given her the same nervous look. There was Namjoon. Then there was Jimin. And now, even Junmyeon? Wow, she was definitely cursed in her past life.
“Oh no! It’s nothing bad, I promise. I just had this idea and I wanted to see what you thought.” Junmyeon assured.
“Oh okay, well what is it?” Maya said.
“Ummm….I was wondering what’s your opinion on songwriting?” Junmyeon asked a strangely vague question.
“Songwriting? What? I mean….why are you suddenly asking me about songwriting?” Now it was Maya’s turn to suddenly become nervous and frazzled. She felt as if someone had found out her deep dark secret, when Junmyeon suddenly asked about songwriting. She had never really written a song herself, but she remembered the songs she had helped Namjoon with. But she was certain she had never told anyone about that, except BTS members. Maya tasted something bitter inside her throat.
Junmyeon sighed. “Actually,  I was wondering because SM is looking for a songwriter, and I thought of you when I heard the news. I thought you could write songs while your write you book. You know, just as a side job.” Junmyeon explained. Junmyeon knew going into this conversation that Maya would not like this idea. He knew ever since her break-up being in the Kpop industry was like her worst fear, but he also realized this was an amazing opportunity for her. He didn’t want her to miss it.
Maya suddenly started laughing. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She looked at Junmyeon with amusement and confusion. “Wait, you must be joking, right?” Maya asked. She was waiting for Junmyeon to start laughing alongside her, but he didn't. He seemed just as serious as before.
“I am not joking, Maya. They are hiring someone who can speak both English and Korean. You are the perfect candidate! A well known writer like you would get the most amazing pay and opportunity! Plus, you wouldn’t even have to dedicate so much time as you would with other jobs.”
“Oppa, you are supposed to be older than me. I never thought you would suggest such an absurd idea for the job.” Maya wheezed and folded her arms across her chest.
“What’s so absurd about it?” Junmyeon retorted.
“The sheer fact that you even thought about bringing this up to me is blowing my mind. Why would I want to join the world that’s hurt me in the past? You know how I feel about Kpop. You know how toxic your industry is. Why would I partake in any part of it?”
Junmyeon was silent for a second. He knew Maya was right. He was well aware of the toxicity of his own field. He knew he wasn't just part of the industry, but he was the product. He knew once his value as a product reduces, he would be thrown aside. But that didn’t mean that Maya would go through the same thing. “Maya, being an idol and being a songwriter are a very different things. You as the songwriter would only be working backstage. You are not the product. You would be the producer of the product.”
“I know the difference between a songwriter and an idol. Trust me. But let me ask you something, when was the last time SM had hired a woman of color into their company? I am not talking about the people they buy their songs from. I am talking about hiring someone to work under SM.”
Junmyeon was quiet. He didn’t know how to answer the question.
“Exactly. Oppa, the idol industry is the last place that will accept someone like me. Even if I am well-known. Do you know how many people have told me that I was lying about being the author of Wan Blue Thoughts? Do you know how many companies took back the offer for the book I wanted to write after they saw my interviews?” Maya paused for a second. All her inner frustration was coming out at this point. She had never told Junmyeon and Han Bi about how publishing companies had retracted their offers when they realized what Maya looked like. She had also never mentioned to them the hate mails and messages she had received after she revealed her identity. She was not surprised by the response, but it didn’t stop her from getting hurt.
“Oh and let’s not forget the real reason why the leader of BTS broke up with me years ago. It’s true that the man was in a position when he was not allowed to date, but you know why he was avoiding telling Bang PD? Because he was ashamed of his relationship with me. He might not have consciously known this at the time. But that’s really what it was. He couldn’t stand up for what he believed in, and fell for the trap that Bang PD laid out for him. This is what the idol industry does to you. It breaks you from the core.” Maya was speaking with a calm voice, but Junmyeon could feel the harshness beneath the calm facade. The words weren’t towards him. But he could imagine how much it would have stung, if they were. It’s like second-hand burn.
“What? They took the offers back? This is ridiculous. I have read your work. They are totally going to regret it once your novel gets published.” Junmyeon responded to Maya’s earlier comment. He clearly had no words for the latter one.
“We’ll see, I guess.” Maya defeatedly replied.
“Look I understand what you mean, Maya. I guess I was trying to let you know about the opportunity. You have been through a lot and I never meant to undermine your pain and the struggle. I just felt like this would be a chance for you to grow as a writer and also have enough time working on your novel. I am sorry if I offended you.” Junmyeon surrendered as he realized the amount of things Maya had faced in the past few years. He knew about most of the things, but he had never fully grasped the full context of Maya’s struggle. Besides, Maya had never told him either. She kept most of the things to herself.
“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to go off on you.” Maya again gave a short response.
Junmyeon sighed again. He knew he was opening a can of worms he should have never opened, but at the same time, every time he met Maya he always had the urge to encourage her to do bigger things since he knew Maya was not the sort of person to take risks on her own.
“Look, sometimes I am just afraid you are letting your fears stop you from achieving things.” Junmyeon couldn’t help but say what was on his mind. “You are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for, Maya. The things you have overcome are not easy. Perhaps, I just see you doing greater things in life. I see you as someone who rules the course of her life, instead of letting life’s course rule over her. Of course, in the end it’s up to you.”
“Words are easy to say, but hard to follow. Honestly, I am tired, oppa. I am tired of being strong. I am emotionally and mentally exhausted. I just want to write my book in peace.” Maya’s tone was somber.
“I understand. I am sorry. It’s up to you! We’ll find you another job, don’t worry, alright?” Junmyeon gently put his hand on Maya’s shoulder. He realized this was a battle that was not worth fighting. In the end, Maya’s happiness was what was more important.
Maya nodded.
“Alright, let’s enjoy those rice cakes, shall we?” Junmyeon reached over the box and grabbed a rice cake and handed it to Maya. She gave a weak smile and accepted.
Little did Junmyeon know that he had already planted a seed in Maya’s head. A seed that would play as a catalyst for another life changing event.
1 Week Later
Junmyeon had just landed from his trip to London and had returned back to the EXO dorms when he suddenly received a call from Maya.
“Hey, what’s up?!” Junmyeon answered.
“Hey! Not much. Are you busy?” Maya asked.
“No I just came back to the dorms after my trip. How have you been?”
“Oh I have been well. What about you? How was your trip?”
“Yeah it was fun, but I am glad to be back. I am exhausted” Junmyeon replied.
“Well, I won’t keep you for too long.  l Just wanted to ask, is that SM songwriting position is still open?” Maya suddenly asked a question Junmyeon had never expected her to ask.
“I am sorry, what?” Junmyeon just couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He had to verify.
“I….I was asking if that songwriting position was still available…” Maya answered.
“Oh...I am pretty sure it is. Why? Are you interested?”
“Umm...yeah, actually I think I am.” Maya gave a surprising response.
Junmyeon suddenly had so many questions that he wanted to ask Maya, but he decided to wait. He figured he would ask when they meet again.
“Okay, well let me send you all the relevant information and then you can apply.” Junmyeon excitedly responded.
“Thanks. Now you should take some rest, Oppa.”
“Alright, I will. Thanks.” Junmyeon replied.
“Maya…” Junmyeon asked after a pause.
“Hmm?” Maya responded.
“I am proud of you.” Junmyeon replied.
Maya smirked. “I guess I am proud of me too.”
2 Weeks Later
Within 2 weeks Maya found herself walking into the building she had never in a million years thought she would even go near. She was having her final interview with one of the producers at SM Entertainment for the songwriting position. She was given a song and asked to write lyrics that matched with the concept that was provided to her ahead of time. She went to the office to submit her lyrics and learn about a new plan that the company was developing. She had decided to go with Junmyeon for moral support.
Truthfully, songwriting was completely different than what she was used to. She needed to make sure there were rap verses and choruses. This was not what she had been trained to do. But nonetheless, she tried her best. Worst case scenario she wouldn’t get the job, which didn’t bother her at all. She was doing this to prove something to herself.
Flashback to 3 weeks ago
After Junmyeon had left that day after telling Maya about the SM songwriter position, Maya was adamant that this was a terrible idea. She was certain that she would never take any part in the Kpop industry and so really there was no reason to even consider the offer.
Except the voice inside her head was saying otherwise. Was she being a coward by running away from this offer? Was Junmyeon right, that she was letting her fear stop her from achieving bigger things? What was her true reason for rejecting this opportunity? Was it because she was afraid she wouldn’t be hired or was she afraid of being part of the world that included Namjoon? Was she really letting her past dictate her future? She was starting to generalize a whole country, a whole industry based on one instance. That’s not fair.
These thoughts lingered inside Maya’s head long after Junmyeon went on his trip. Everytime Maya sat down to work on her novel, she would suddenly start wondering if she was making the right decision to not even consider the offer.
Maya had heard over the years from Junmyeon about all the issues with SM Entertainment. However, there was no denying that the company was still one of the biggest and was flourishing with the new wave of artists that were debuting under the label. As Junmyeon had mentioned in his conversation, that she would most likely be paid quite nicely considering her fluency in both Korean and English, but the question remained would they even hire her? Would she even consider applying?
It suddenly occurred to Maya one morning when she realized something about her life so far. Maya was the only non-White person in her graduate program back in Arkansas. She was the only non-White student in the classes she took to learn Korean. Same with her siblings. They were all a minority in their respective field. But why? Was it because people of color didn’t want to become lawyers, doctors, and writers? Or was it because they weren’t given the same opportunities? Was Maya closing the door for future people of color by not accepting the opportunities given to her? What if her entering SM Entertainment could open doors for other people of color in the industry? Up until now, her culture was often used in Kpop songs as a trend. But if given the chance, could she shed light on a new aspect?
She would merely be a songwriter, but at least she would be leaving a mark for other minority groups. Maybe it could open doors to other non-Korean, non-Asian, and non-White individuals that have dreamed of being in the industry. Or even if it doesn’t, she would still get to tell more stories. She would get to express herself in a new way. Something she had never done before. So, maybe she should consider the offer. Maybe, it wasn’t the worst idea ever.
Present Day
In the end, she decided to give it a try. Just to see if they would even hire her at SM Entertainment.
And they did. In fact, they offered the job quite easily. It almost surprised Maya at how easy the process went.
If Maya accepted the offer, Maya would  become the first person of color to be a songwriter at SM Entertainment. In fact, SM Entertainment would hire her to be a part of a new team they had developed that would be in charge of creating songs that held more meaning and were part of the bigger concept. Under this team she would be working with a new group that SM was planning to debut and her songs would be meant to attract a more international audience.
SM had curated this new team after completing a thorough research regarding the sudden explosion of Kpop in the West. This research was influenced by none other than the record breaking group, BTS.
Maya was told about this new team in her final meeting with the SM producer, who was already quite impressed with the lyrics Maya had just submitted. Maya was sitting next Junmyeon when she was explained the entire situation. Many emotions arose inside Maya during this meeting. She was feeling astonished, intrigued, scared, confused, and genuinely nervous. When the producer mentioned BTS, she could feel the color of her skin fading. She couldn’t help but ask, “So, let me get this straight...you all want to create another...BTS?” Maya gave the producer a strange look.
The producer was just another Korean man who was most likely in his late 30s. Junmyeon and Maya were sitting in his office, as the producer clarified his goal about this new team.
The producer smiled. “Well, I am not sure if it’s really possible to create another BTS, but we can at least use the framework to develop our own group, can’t we?”
“I am not sure I understand.” Maya asked.
“Look, it’s not about BTS. In general, the Kpop world is changing. We need songs that have deep meaning and quality lyrics if we want to break into the American industry. We are hoping if we hire you, it will help us reach that goal. Because your blog is famous in the West already, and if they hear that you are working for us, that will automatically gain some attention. So, we think you would be a great addition to the team we have curated for this new project.”
“Wow, that’s actually a great change, right Maya?” Junmyeon replied and turned towards Maya to see her reaction. He knew that the producer mentioning BTS had probably set off some fire alarms inside Maya’s head. He needed to divert her attention.
Maya hesitantly nodded.
“Great, so if you agree to become a part of the SM family then you can sign the contract right here.” The producer said as he handed Maya a stack of papers with a X marked next to the blank where Maya needed to sign.
Maya picked up the papers in her hand, staring at the words on the pages. She flipped through the stack trying to quickly skim through and make sure she wasn’t agreeing to do anything crazy. But still suddenly Maya’s hand started shaking as she picked up the pen in her hand. Was she doing the right thing? Was this a good idea? She turned towards Junmyeon who gave her a calm smile.
“Go ahead” Junmyeon said in almost a whisper.
Maya gave him a small nod and turned back to the producer, who also gave her a small smile.
She then slowly open the lid of the pen and signed the contract. Chills went down her spine when she saw her signature on the contract. It finally hit her.
Maya was now a part of SM Entertainment.

OMG RIPRIPRIP THE SECRET IS OUT @cyannawine YOU HAVE EXPOSED ME
Well, ok, it wasn’t a big secret that I’ve been working on fics but.
THIS IS MY FIRST POST AS A FIC WRITER????  This is why I haven’t joined in the ‘post sentences from your WIP’ threads because my scenes are all over the place now and disjointed and some fics hardly have stuff written and omg.  There is nothing organized in complete chapters as of yet.
BUT.  HERE IS THE LIST THAT WILL COME TO PASS:
1) Murder on the Orient Express:  First and foremost, my baby, which I came up with months ago, is the first fic idea I truly started with, and which is a huuuge undertaking for me.  I mean, for your first fic, why do a small drabble.  HAH, no, DO A FOUR STORY SERIES, EACH A MULTI-CHAPTER FIC WITH AN OVERARCHING PLOT AND START IT OFF WITH A MURDER MYSTERY. Yeah, go big or go home, that’s my motto.  So, without giving too much away (because I like secrets and surprises 8D ), the first fic is based on Murder on the Orient Express.  There will be 4 stories in this series.  There will be world travel.  Each story is loosely based on a different murder mystery.  This is a soukoku series.  There are detectives and Mafia.  1920-1930s. And there will be heavy angst, emotional manipulation, and also fluff.  Smut remains to be determined, and might end up in a separate, but connected story, since I’m not writing smut right off the bat as a new author, no way no how lolllll
2) Dystopian Scifi AU: OMG another one of my special babies.  NOT based on whatever rumors are or are not floating around with the light novels (I AM NOT SPOILING MYSELF I WILL READ THEM FIRST).  Inspired by Ghost in the Shell movie atmosphere.  Involves human experimentation to create Ability Users; and technological enhancements becoming a standard in most classes of society. Abilities are not natural and all of them have been created via genetic experimentation.  Extreme social inequality and different castes, unequal rights.  Soukoku, multi-chapter.
3) Unnamed murder mystery: Canon universe.  Chuuya framed for murder of some high ranking Mafia dude, and due to the overwhelming evidence, sentenced to death by Mori.  Dazai is working to try to prove Chuu’s innocence, but can he do it in time?
4) Mermaid AU: Been done several times, but I recently got inspired by a few gooood fics I’ve read recently, so I’m jumping on this bandwagon.  Multi-chapter fic, soukoku.  Seafaring age (what century was that??)  There will be pirates (Mafia of the Seas, hello~!)  Hint: Chuuya’s not the merman.  I’ve also promised smut for this.  Under the water, mermaid smut.  It happening. This is not your innocent Little Mermaid AU.
5) Alice in Wonderland AU: Inspired by the mix of Alices out there – Disney, live action, etc, etc.  Multi-chapter.  Soukoku. Dazai is in the Port Mafia.  Dazai is Alice.  Dazai is not going to be wearing a dress.  Corruption is in this fic 0.0  Guesses on which Wonderland character Corruption is?  Chuuya is who you think he’d be.  The dormouse is Akutagawa.
6) Fantastic Beasts: Yep, doing it.  I love this period of time.  I love the clothes.  I love the magic.  Soukoku. Newt is Dazai.  The MACUSA is basically the Mafia.  They certainly seem like the magic Mafia, at any rate.
7) Disney Hercules AU: Yep.  Love it.  Soukoku. But who’s Hercules and who’s Megara?? The answer may surprise you XD
8) Child!Chuuya AU: Canon universe, but Chuuya gets hit by an Ability that turns him into a young child.  He’s still retains all his memories though.  But his Ability control is now a little...wonky.  Might be angst, might be child trafficking, we’re not sure where we’re going with this one yet.
9) Ghost!Oda AU:  Jumping on the ghost bandwagon....Canon universe.  Oda is in this fic, BUT HE’S STILL DEAD.  Chuuya can see dead people.  Soukoku.
10)  Ghost!Chuuya AU:  Canon universe.  Chuuya has been supposedly ‘killed’ by another Ability user, and is currently a ghost wandering around Yokohama.  Everybody believes him to be dead, and now he needs to prove them otherwise.  Soukoku.
11) RESCUE RANGERS AU: YEAH YOU HEARD RIGHT.  They’re a detective agency and they help people, it’s literally like the most natural thing ever.  Dazai and Chuuya both left the Mafia at the same time and joined the Rescue Rangers.  Soukoku. Yes, they are chipmunks.  This will be (probably) a light-hearted, fun fic, obviously.  Eventual collab between friends!!! :D :D :D
I firmly believe all Disney movies need to be made into BSD AUs.
And I have like 8 others that are vague ideas without plot that will remain unstated for now……>.> Tagging anyone who wants to do this!!! :D   And....I’m getting to all the other tagged things, I swear, but these next two weeks are tests ripriprip

Rules and Info
This blog is a ask blog of the shiny pokemon, Rufflet. The character is also able to be rped with, in any form of instances. But, to keep things nice, here’s some rules in place:
1) Crossovers, indie rps, anything and everything is welcome! Does your character have to be from the Pokemon franchise? Do they need to be only OCs? Nope! I am more than happy to roleplay/interact with canon characters, original characters, and characters found in other shows/fandoms.
2) No one-liners, please! I am a semi-literate to literate roleplayer, which means I usually can write anywhere from 2-4, sometimes 5+ paragraphs per a response. Now, that doesn’t mean you’ll have to bust out a novel for a reply! I merely enjoy writing that much. If anything, try to at least write two-three sentences or one paragraph.
3) Shipping is allowed. Be it single or multi-shipping, I am happy to have this Rufflet get something going for his love life. With that in mind, any NSFW interactions with Nugget aren’t tolerated. He is 16, and frankly still a kid. I don’t need to say more, do I?
4) SFW roleplaying with this character, only. I am in the works in creating a character for the other forms of roleplaying, so at the moment, Nugget is only able to play SFW plots. I don’t need to explain why, given his age.
5) Unless otherwise stated, any roleplay posts are fair game. Meaning, if I post an intro that has the tag as “open rp” or there’s no one tagged in it, then by all means, go for it! No one’s stopping you but yourself, dear!
Info
Who exactly is “Nugget”?
Nugget is the blog’s character, a shiny rufflet who goes by the name of “Azumada” in his Gijinka form. The Pokemon is a male in his late teens, and is pansexual.
Where did he come from?
Nugget came from the wild! He is a trainer-less pokemon that resides on Mele Mele island, calling a small bed of flowers in the Mele Mele meadow his bed.
What’s his backstory? Is there one?
Nugget hatched along Route 10 with a Braviary as his first sight of the world. He was raised in Alola and, until he was able to fend for himself, flew in a flock of Braviary around the main island. He had a few run-ins with misbehaving kids and negligent trainers, so his whereabouts had since been non-existent. Just recently he had a dastardly encounter with a burglar and killer. The teen scraped by with deep knife wounds that, thanks to his savior Guzma, were the only injuries he had received from the crook. He is now trying to bandage up and find someplace to crash, although it’s been proven to be quite a challenge for the homeless gijinka to call a place his own.
Will there be another character on this blog?
I’m strongly considering it, but we’ll have to see. If anything, it may be a gijinka this time around!
How can I contact you?
Just message me and I’ll give you my discord. I just got it and use it for chatter, but roleplaying there would be nice as well!
What type of roleplays do you like?
I enjoy things involving subjects like angst, fluff, plot-oriented, slice-of-life, and like most, romance. Lovey-dovey is always nice!
