No fear, I have done the math for all of you Fanfic authors so we can stop with the confusion.

Eddie’s Third Try at Senior Year is ‘86

Second try was ‘85, originally supposed to graduate in ‘84

Steve Graduated on time in ‘85

Therefore Eddie is one school year above Steve.

Additionally- as far as I am aware, Middle School is 3 years maximum. So, because of context/middle school talent show:

When Chrissy was in 6th grade, Steve was in 7th, and Eddie was in 8th grade- carrying on until Senior Year kept him back.

So Eddie is two school years above Chrissy.

Ages get a little weirder because I don’t know the Hawkins enrolment cut off/school year start. Some places start in August, others September. Some use age at enrollment, others use birth years etc. but, you can use a general 17-18 for Chrissy/the other ‘86 seniors, 18-19 for Steve/‘85 seniors, and place Eddie 19-20. 21 is kind of pushing it unless you go with a mid-year Appalachian transfer fanon- but again it depends on the enrolment of Hawkins.

I know folks who started kindergarten at 3 because they were big & potty trained, but others were delayed until 5. But 4 is average, ergo, let’s go with averages.

Edit: kindergarten apparently isn’t relevant anyways so let’s be glad it was crossed out anyways.

i am a simple person. i just need them to come home and say "i'm back" while the other is doing whatever their daily business is. i need yuri to have to teach flynn to cook like a normal person bc he can't keep coming home to monstrosities. i need them to talk about their day over dinner and laugh at each other's shenanigans. i need one of them to go to bed before the other some nights with a very comfortable and relaxed "i'm heading to bed now", "okay be there in a bit". i need them to talk briefly in bed before going to sleep on nights they go to bed at the same time or one hasn't fallen asleep yet, and then sleep very close to each other but not always cuddling because they're just perfectly comfortable being that close while still having their "own" space.

i need them to be able to sit in silence and do things around the house near each other without having to always acknowledge each other. i need them past their honeymoon phase where they're so used to each other being around all the time that they're relaxed and it's perfectly normal to just be in the house together. i need them to get to the point where they're like "well damn wait, we've always been this way together". i need them to realize how comfortable and at peace they are with each other's presence that being in the same space is just completely normal.

When Sonic and Tails met for the first time in the games, Tails was a mostly happy go lucky, albeit traumatized with severe abandonment issues 4y/o.

When they met for the firts time in the movie, presumably 8y/o Tails with self esteem issues was already armed with murderous intent, a gun and a heatseeking boomerang, but still carrying a hopeful heart.

And when they met for the first time again in Prime, Nine was a jaded and by life torn appart, I will say 11y/o due to personal funni reasons, who has created deadly and really stabby mechanical tails for himself, always ready to shank a bitch if one got too close.

So for the next instance of Sonic and Tails meeting for the first time, Tails is probably gonna be in his late teens, going trough a gifted child burnout and carying atomic bombs in his pockets.

It's endlessly funny to me that some poor alien in One Minute War is going to be forced to write a threat assessment on Earth's active defenses and it's going to solely consist of two seniors, an adult, two young adults, one pregnant young adult and seven minors aged ~4-17.

Normally threat assessments and war intel is focused on access to supplies, number of soldiers, strategic locations, known routes, training/education, gear, weapons, vehicles, allies, political landscapes, relevant history, ect.

This threat assessment is going to be a book report on the Flash family. That's all they have to go off of. The strategic advantage is that the kid's bedtime is at 7:30. The relevant war history will be that one of the 100+ year olds was a military messenger in the 17th century and the other 100+ year old was a special operative contracted during World War 2. Four college diplomas, four report cards, a Flash museum pamphlet and a collection of mint edition Flash comics are submitted as evidence. The list of tactical gear consists of a cool ring and sneakers. For 'political landscape' they write about Jai's journal entries which suggest that there is great turmoil among Earth's ranks over who does the dishes on any given night. This is marked as having potential for psychological warfare.

Update on the really old GT book I've been reading,
