#omori au #sunnys sonata au #literally the only reason i haven't posted anything about the au in a while is just because I'm losing it over every single character #and most of them aren't even important/canon to omori canon or they just have a miniscule appearance/role #there are so many side characters and jokes With these side characters it's not even funny anymore #i dragged characters from completely different universes that have a tiny tie to omori into the sonata verse bc i thought it would be funny #Little Jack from the old OLD Halkenna verse is in this verse- Omoboy is in this verse- there are characters that had NO screentime in here #there are plots for fights that aren't on the main storyline. there are alternate endings that were literally never touched on anywhere #not even in the disc server where i jot down my ideas #i have aus of aus and literally for what #honestly I think the funniest bits of side plot I've developed have to do with rococo having to deal with sbf making summoning circles #either that or just the clone hearts all roaming around the world being a weird family and also being an obstacle to the main group #everything else is just very scattered development changes and add-ons to characters i already had planned. both main and side characters #Shattered Omori got a very. dark? design change. Hero and Aubrey were both slightly tweaked. The Twins's fused form was HEAVILY updated #that fused form had a lot of notes added to it.. how their emotions work. how they speak. their height. abilities. basically everything #i. actually just have a lot of notes for the twins lol #what can i say. i think they're neat

I’m rereading Po3 and despite its flaws I really enjoyed the introduction to the three. Jaykit isn’t mentioned to be blind in the first few chapters and instead they chose to show how much MORE capable he is compared to his littermates; until at the end of chapter 3, he brings up his blindness on his own. It makes forcing him to be a medicine cat SO much more frustrating because it really feels like they’re setting him up to be a warrior and choose his own fate (note i haven’t finished the reread this is just my first impression)

I like how you seem to take that path in BB regardless! It makes his arc so much more enjoyable

His arc in canon is super frustrating because he's such an independent character who clearly wants to make his own decisions in life, but then he just gets shoved into the medcat den. I LIKE that he ultimately goes there and that he enjoys it; but it was still really fucked up that they stripped away his autonomy in the process.

Re: they are not real, they are writing choices. Taking away the choices a disabled character can make over their own life, forcing them into a celibate nun role, and then going "awwwww dont worry see? he likes it! This was the best thing for him :)" was fucked up.

And imo it didn't have to be that way! You wouldn't have to go the FULL route I did with big changes, he could just be more involved in the descision to stop being a warrior apprentice and it would be fine. Minor change that would make a world of difference.

I do also have to interject to say though... blindness should really not be an extremely severe impairment for a ThunderClan cat.

I'm dead serious.

Whiskers are built-in sensors that tell you the exact position of everything within several inches of your head, ears swerve to pick up sound, and the jacobson's organ provides a sense of smell so keen that I have an entire Clanmew expansion draft because I needed to make WORDS describing the power of this sense that humans do not have. I cannot stress enough how delicate their other senses are, felines do not rely on their sight like primates do

ThunderClan lives in a mixed-oak woodland, where sight is already often obscured by foliage, objects are close together (for whiskers to feel), and nearly every movement makes noise against the leaf litter. RiverClan and (moor-running) WindClan cats would have a harder time with this disability than Thunder or Shadow.

Cat sight SUCKS to begin with. It sucks BADDD. They don't have color vision, they're significantly nearsighted, and they can't track up-and-down movements well. WC doesn't write realistic cats (more like small fuzzy people really) and I also work with more humanesque eyesight, but the only thing Jay should really lose is an ability to rapidly track a small animal swerving fast. Blind cats are often still excellent hunters in spite of that!

So it's an extra big waste that they railroaded him into a position he didn't choose, saying he couldn't be a warrior. This is the perfect disability to write, if you want to explore how ableism can impact the characters in this society who ARE legitimately still capable of nearly full independence, but still need to find accommodations for what they can't do.

In the same arc they're doing the dumb Cinder Reincarnation Plotline, no less!! Where SHE is also feeling like she has no choice over her "destiny," and gets a conflict over a potentially disabling injury

One of these days I should really make "herb guides" just covering how various sensory disabilities impact the lives of Clan cats and some tips for writing them as warriors, especially between Clans. Stuff you wouldn't usually consider, like how much noise deaf cats tend to make, how RiverClan would get a ton of sinus infections and lose their sense of smell, being blind in Sky vs Thunder, etc.

#I once saw someone say offhandedly 'well what if someone snuck up on jay from behind and attacked him. No whiskers there' #NEWSFLASH! YOU ALSO DONT HAVE EYES IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD #He doesn't have short whiskers either they're normally sized #Something like 4 - 5 inches on a cat like him. About double the size of the head foward and sideways #Once you're talking about close combat like the cats usually do there's no way that you can stay back far enough to avoid them #I want to rewrite owl and jay's fight or make a rematch where jay realizes owl is being a coward #Hanging just out of his range and jabbing at him #But once he realizes it's just a coward's strategy it clicks that the counter is to be aggressive #And not let his opponent out of his 'range' #Also give him a neat little scene where they're grappling next to Black's dam project where it's super muddy #And Jay is like 'YOU WANT TO PLAY DIRTY? LETS GET FILTHY' and dunks Owl's face down into the mud #Because Jay can fight without his sight but Owl doesn't know how to continue while there's stinging gunk in his eyes and nose #I like thinking about what I'm going to do for BB!Jay's matches because his fighting style is really fun to write #1. Be aggressive and proactive 2. Don't let them out of range 3. SCARE THEM #From the Mud Match he learns that the best way to end a fight quickly is to absolutely terrify them #Because they're usually not expecting the fight to be difficult nor are they expecting to feel like theyre in danger #So if you surprise them it breaks their willpower real fast #And as he gains a reputation for brutality he faces less opponents until he's practically known as the Cleric Without Mercy #Bone babble

was rewatching season 3, and noticed something that definitely doesn't actually mean anything, but made me pause for a second

at the end of the specials when Wukong apologizes to MK for being a bad mentor, MK never actually accepts the apology. he makes a joke about being able to just get another bowl of noodles and when Wukong explains his apology more, says he knows and plays dumb to lighten the mood, but he never actually accepts his actual apology

I'm probably thinking too hard about something that's just a silly joke but still

Oh, I think that moment was intended to highlight MK's traits rather than just be a "silly joke".

MK has a habit of wanting to move on and pretend every thing is fine. He doesn't want to think about the things that are messy and grey and complicated. He doesn't want to think about Wukong's flaws or any of the ways Wukong has hurt him, he just wants to go back to things being simple and easy, without working through anything. (Think like, 4x01 and 4x02 where MK keeps insisting he's alright, 4x05 where he says "Monkey king will explain how he's definitely not my dad and that everything is fine", or even 4x12 with "Kick this can down the ol' half marathon"/"So they can never make us live our nightmares again!")

MK during s2 feels so abandoned by Wukong, then brushing past his emotions the moment he realizes Wukong "had a good reason" for leaving. Which, Wukong did have a good reason, but his methods were less than ideal, and there are undoubtedly complicated feelings that came from that. Those two just like, fucking SUCK at communicating with each other.

And, it's definitely not all on Wukong, not by a long shot. But the thing is, MK can't acknowledge or talk about his feelings with Wukong, because that would require him to admit that Wukong hurt him in the first place. So I interpret the 3x14 Apology scene as MK not wanting to accept an apology, because what is Monkey King apologizing for? Nothing happened! Everything's fine! When that's just not true.

Man poor Clark. Dude is trying so hard to understand and help out but he's just... so slow. The man is like living molasses in Flash Time.

From his perspective it was just a normal day then giant spaceships came out of nowhere and suddenly there is an army of blurs and he just starts teleporting from place to place before he can even register the locations.

Then suddenly he's with familiar blurs, ones clad in red and yellow. Their forms fading in and out like hummingbird wings, voices more akin to mice squeaking than actual language. If he didn't have his superhearing and his ability to hear inhumanly high pitches, he wouldn't have a chance at understanding them. They try to stay still long enough for Clark to talk to them.

He says "What is going-" and then they're gone again. He didn't even finish the question.

Then there's just one blur around. Small, orangey-red at the top, must be Wally's daughter Irey. Before he can even register that information she's being choked by some unknown blur halfway across the room. Something touches his hands and he doesn't even have time to look at them, he just grabs. He was desperate at this point. Good or bad, whoever this was they were staying put until Clark got some answers.

Anyway I think it's very funny that the Kryptonians are aware that something is happening. But they can't do anything about it. It must be incredibly frustrating and confusing to them.

They can hear the screams of the people who died and the people who are trapped in rubble. They would have seen/heard the spaceships come in. They came in at a normal speed so they would have had time to react to that. They know it's an alien invasion, they know people are dying and they know that they can't help.

#its interesting to me that literally the only people on earth who are aware of this would be the Flash family and the Super Fam #i forget what it is exactly but i believe the speedsters are experiencing one day every second and a half #this whole thing will be six weeks long for them and one minute long for everyone else #Clark though... let's be generous and say he's moving at a quarter of there speed. he can say words at least and move which is pretty good #so Clark will experience 1.7 days in ten real seconds. the Flash fam will experience 7 days in that same time frame #So the Kryptonians will have 10 and a half days of total confusion and despair. it sounds like a lot and it sounds like they should be able #help. but remember that the speedsters (including the bad guys) will have SIX WEEKS. there's just not a lot the Kryptonians can do except #feel bad. at least everyone else only has one minute of seeing a confusing and scary blurry world #like Roy and Donna saw the space ships come down and then everything's been a blur since then #there's no cognition there. they're not even out of shock yet. #anyway i just think its neat #dc #dc comics #the flash #superman #Clark Kent #one minute war

You know, I'm glad that some of us take the step to embrace things that we like even if they're "cringe" or "objectively bad"

But perhaps we could take the next step forward and embrace the idea of reading into books/shows/movies/etc even if they don't seem deep. Perhaps we could understand that the two kinds of media aren't either "shallow and meaningless so you're weird and brainrotted to read into it" or "incredibly and profoundly deep in every way so if you don't analyze every single angle of the thing then you're brainrotted". Some media is deeper than others, but all I propose is that no matter how deep it seems it's acceptable to dig into the thing and take the media seriously instead of just assuming that because of ____ thing (such as target audience or how cringe it is) the media not deep and will never be deep and everything good about it happened on accident.

Hi 💛 I wanted to ask you something, it's been bothering me lately: I've always known that I'm attracted to people regardless of gender. At 15 I called it bisexual. At 17 I started using the label pansexual. Came out as a trans man at 23. I'm now 26 and I'm not sure if bi or pan work for me anymore. I know that I'm still attracted to people regardless of gender, but my experiences as a man in society have made the label gay resonate a lot more with me. Is that okay? What does this mean? Confused

It means whatever you want it to mean. People all across the queer community have used "gay" as shorthand for decades now (maybe including queer people you love). If you just don't vibe with bi/pan on their own, then you don't have to have them on their own. There's nothing wrong with being bi or pan, but there's also nothing wrong with feeling like that doesn't quite encapsulate your relationship with your queerness.

( -inhales- ... okay one thing I always enjoy thinking on is just how Broly could possibly have a pretty good set of survivalist + other certain skills just because growing up, that was pretty much his life when he wasn't a damn walking powerhouse. ( well i mean he WAS still a force to reckon with as a young broccoli sproutling but he wasn't in control of it... at least in my head. ) Its just things that you won't know he has/knows until the event of necessity forces him to use it. )
