i think @billfarrah has touched on this and probably a few others

but i find it super interesting that so many people see wille as this super awkward, clumsy person and are surprised when he knows how to flirt with simon and i know a lot of these are jokes and also come from wille's first interaction with simon where he trips

but i actually think wille is pretty confident both in his relationship with simon as well as outside of it

take the fish scene for example, he was fully confident and in control in that scene

he's the one who introduces himself to simon in ep 1 and he's the one who asks simon if he wants to spend time with him at the party

he goes to simon in ep 5 of s2 and lays out exactly what the circumstances are, in front of rosh and ayub, without hesitation

he offers to get simon hotdogs

he tells simon that he'd "show him" what he wanted to do if simon ever came to the palace

he lures (lol probably the wrong word but whatever) simon into the music room for a hook up with just one look

he chases after simon's car and puts in clear words that he wants to be with him but he left the crown behind for himself

the times where he does seem awkward or he stumbles over his words are when his and simon's relationship is uncertain

when he asks simon to stay with him for parents weekend, he seems awkward because he's trying to figure out how to phrase his offer and he's not sure where he stands with simon

when he tells simon he got a haircut in their first interaction after their break up, he's just trying to figure out what to say and how to start a conversation

when he asks simon to open the pencil case, he just wants simon to pay him some attention

any of the times where he seems awkward, it's because him and simon aren't on steady ground

i think it's fine if people view him as clumsy and awkward, but i think it's also important to note that when he's certain of his relationship with simon, he doesn't hold back and he actually does have quite a lot of game.

Still figuring out Red details and how to draw two-toned fur, but meanwhile, have a little bit of the background I've been writing about him:

Red (or simply Fox when he was initially created) is an illegally crafted animatronic, commissioned by a band of merciless pirates to be part of their crew and aid them in their pillaging, all in hopes that this would help them climb the power ladder.

He was given knowledge in everything needed to sail, the sea, fishing, and not so noble tasks such as fighting, shooting, lockpicking, and murdering, activities he enjoyed and took as normal.

One night a mutiny took place, ambushed by rival pirates aided by members of their own crew that weren’t happy with what they got and wanted more. 

Red was left for dead, originally scrapped by the rival crew to sell as parts, but clinging to life, he managed to escape despite his poor condition. Slowly, he rebuilt himself with pieces he would steal, craft, or reap from other animatronics that attacked him. The only parts he left broken were his right hand, eye, and leg as a reminder of his past life and mistakes.

the interaction between wille and malin in ep 6 is super interesting to me because wille is showing a degree of professionalism and confidence that he doesn't show very often. Throughout the series it appears as a way to show that as much as he doesn't see it, he does have the makings of a good Crown Prince, even Kristina has said it

this makes it all the more important that you realize that wille's decision at the end of the episode is because he doesn't want this and not because he can't do it. we've seen plenty of evidence throughout the seasons that wille actually has a lot of solid leadership skills and the right mindset as a leader when he puts them to use in the right places

but none of that matters because he doesn't want that life or that role

Going back to Kingmaker after other, shinier games feels to me like visiting one's grandma in the countryside after spending time in the city partying in loud clubs. I imagine. I neither have a grandma in the countryside, nor did I ever set foot into a club. Still, it is less grandiose than similar games even with its fair share of gripping adventures, and instead feels homely and cosy, so the comparison is fitting.
