1."Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?"

current project is a thasmissy fic (wait do people even know that portmanteau? ive just been using it. yaz/13/missy) set between revolution and flux. it's basically vault times but with 13 and yaz instead of 12 and bill. it's about coming to terms with trauma and coming to terms with your sexuality i think most concisely put. or in other words i think ive put it like it's about "the things we dont want to touch and the things we DO want to touch". heres the video i made of it last year for anyone who hasnt seen it:

this video took a full month to make and drove me almost insane which makes sense bc editing this fic rn is driving me again insane. just need to finish two more scenes. one of which is the technobabble

it's really fun to do but also takes soooo much time. my favourite tardis wiki page is the tardis components one so im on that a lot, and then ive got a thousand wikipedia pages open about philosophical, linguistic and mathematical concepts and then i try to put words together in a way thats at least superficially a little bit convincing

honestly i dont think i have a lot of those? i think generally my writing process is just that i write the scene i want to write, and either that turns into the whole fic, or i combine it with other scenes i wanted to write and shuffle then all around for a long time until it resembles something like a story. who needs set up? just jump into the medias of res babey

full stories probably not or maybe there were but i dont remember now. but theres a lot of scenes with alternative versions in this thasmissy fic bc i had to puzzle and recut and rewrite a lot until it made the least bit of sense due to aforementioned "shuffle around until it resembles a story" approach

theres one scene where there was a really clear fork in the road where first i went down one route and then i was like 'oh no i cant do this, it breaks the relationship beyond what i want it to' so i had to go back and take the other path. im still fond of that alternative scene because it was also an interesting one i think

it's a scene between yaz and missy and in the cut version yaz said/did something that sort of cemented their dynamic as an echo of what my interpretation is of vault times thoschei, ie that the doctor keeps the master trapped. half physically half emotionally. because i think the master could leave, the vault or 13's tardis in this fic, but emotionally it's more complicated than that. the power the doctor has over them is that they want the doctor's love, especially missy is super overtly driven by that. the master always is but missy is unashamed and almost unresentful of it i think. missy will say "love me" out loud, basically. "i need my friend back" you know?

and what i had yaz do put missy in that same kind of position she is wrt the doctor. and they both immediately realised that and missy was like "youre just like her" and yaz was like "oh shit i fucked up". it's an interesting scene i think because being like the doctor is what yaz wants, right? and being like the doctor is why missy is drawn to her. but yaz doesnt want to replicate the relationship dynamic of the doctor and the master. she wants to be like the doctor but she also has that I Can Fix Her instinct. and i think with missy that is way more important because missy doesnt need another doctor (even though she also wouldnt be interested in someone who wasnt a little bit the doctor, you know? hi clara. i think 12/missy/clara and 13/dhawan/yaz are like two sides of the same coin. the companion a mirror to both the doctor and the master)

[trigger warning for life-threatening surgery; hospital setting] June was a hard month, physically and emotionally. My dad had 3 heart surgeries, and thank goodness he’s much better now as a result of them. But I almost lost him. It’s something that continues to weigh heavy on me. The long commutes to visit him and stay with him in the hospital every day took a toll on my mom and I too, but there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be there for him every step of the way. And I was.

Had a reunion with my high school band mates. We had so much fun chatting and drinking after a performance for our old band teacher’s retirement party

got hooked as shit on Legends Arceus, what a lovely game. It was everything I hoped for and more in a pokemon game and it was SO fun to play

Watched Amphibia omggg…it was so funny and heartfelt, and something I love going back to to just sit and relax to

Had an absolute banger of a day at Anime North with my friend. I got such a good merch haul

Dark Road gave me psychic damage but it was awesome. Completely changed my outlook on Xehanort and now I find myself wanting more of him

Helped my friend buy furniture from IKEA for her new apartment. It was a pain to get all of it up to the 10th floor but fulfilling in its own way 💅 Just Adult Things

Finally started publishing A Light That Never Goes Out. I’ve been having a great time writing it and filling in some sections I had written already in the past

Overall, a great year. I had a lot of struggles and days where I could’ve done more, but I also tried a lot of new things, helped a lot of people, and made lots of good memories. Fingers crossed that 2023 brings more of that positivity!!

hard: oh LETS FUCKING GO!!!!! sooooo retro, i love the interesting textures and everything, all the experimental samples make it soooo shinee to me, its like 'dont call me' but Expanded, i love it !!! the "WE GO, WE GO- WE GO HARD!" is SOOOO 'kick it' nct 127 lmao, but its soooo groovy and it sets up the mood of the album soooo well. getting hard with shinee in 2023 babey ‼️

juice: 10/10 SORRY THIS IS THE BEST SONG OF THE YEAR, i know this is gonna be such a polarising opinion but i love this so much. its SO FUN and SO SILLY i love the lil flip phone beep thing in the back of the post chorus "you got the, you got the juice", and the vocal samples all through the song r so fun, and the breakdown bit?? augh so groovy this song absolutely rules, you can absolutely tell how its produced by the same guy who did "dont call me" in their last cb lmao (im gonna have the "i think you liiiike me i think you liiiiike me-" stuck in my head)

10x: ohhhhh groovy... i dont know why but this didnt stick with me the first time i listened to it but i looooove the choppy piano, and the "ten times-" chorus is HEAVENLYYY . unfortunately it is vaguely similar enough to a song that plays all the time at my work, so i cant listen to it for very long without my body subconsciously revolting, but its SOOO GOOD

satellite: i thought the intro was gonna lead to something completely different? for some reason? i like this though!!! it almost feels like it couldve been a very basic slow K-Drama type song but then its shinee so its actually interesting lmao!!!

identity: ouuuUUU i really really like that low buzzing bass synth that goes through the song, its sooo chic and very sneaky sound system i like it!!!! the "my-y identity (i dont wanna hide it)" chorus is a bit meh but the "dont hide it, dont hide it" ost chorus is saur good, and the groovy intermission bit is so good, i love the disco influences too!!!

that feeling: not a fan of this, sounds like smth that would play on the top 50 from 2016 which was never my fave and sounds kinda basic, the vocals r sooo nice even if i haaate the horn thing thats in the instrumentals

like it: OUHH so sparkly, i really like this, it sounds like it should be in a movie credits? so so groovy, so summery, not to sound like a pretentious idiot but its soooo rich im gonna take a sip of this song.... the guitar solo near the end vaguely reminded me of an old homestuck fansong lmao?

sweet misery: VERY similar complaints as 'that feeling', its that genre of Emotional music that i personally dont like (the "sweeet misery" line in the chorus is very taylor swift to me, which. yknow. no comment.), but the production on this track is insane

insomnia: oh this is INTERESTING!!!! i looove the deep synthy intro going into the groovy bass in the verse and then opening up into the smooth jazzy chorus, this is such a good slower song and you can hearrrr how good the vocals are... its got really interesting aspects in it that kind of differentiate it from similar songs, esp the really nice piano-y bits

gravity: this makes sense for a final song on an album but tbh this is what i feared satellite was gonna be? i like the chorus though, but the 'snapping' verse was never my thing

all in all this album is SO GOOD, it has a consistent thesis and theme as is expected of shinee but its still so so so fun and so extra and im so so so excited to see them active again <333 its almost like a return to form in a Cool way, which i love ‼️‼️‼️

I mean like, I feel like Senku didn’t have too many friends in school. I mean, we all know Senku can be a bit… rude and many of his classmates did not really like how he was a smartass. So he pretty much lived his life, his only real friends being Taiju and Yuzuriha, maybe some of the nerds from his science club as well.

When he met s/o, he was kind of surprised at how much they wanted to be with him, and how they thought he was super cool. Of course, he didn’t voice these thoughts.

So when the school sees s/o and Senku walking together all buddy-buddy, everyone’s like?? How?? Why?? Eventually, they spilt to go to class.

Senku sat down in his seat, a bit early. He dug through his bag to find his notebook when he saw the pieces of paper sticking out of it. Curiously, he took them out to see it was his s/o’s homework he helped them with.

He sighed. They had forgotten their homework, again. He quickly exited the classroom to go to s/o’s class. It was quite close, thankfully. The door was already open. He was about to enter when-

S/o just kept going on and on about Senku. At least 5 minutes had passed, and s/o’s friends and Senku stood there stunned.

“Oh and, there was this one time when he let me play with his hair! It was so soft and fluffy!” s/o gushed as they giggled.

Senku could feel the tips of his ears burn as he covered his mouth with his hand, trying to stop smiling like an idiot. The bell rung as the teacher saw him not in his class and ordered him to go before he gets detention.  He didn’t even hear as he slowly walked back, still trying to get his emotions under control.

That was the first time he was ever late to science class.

“Senku, Senku!! Do you know where I put my homework??!”

It was after school, and s/o was in the clubroom frantically searching through their bag.

“Yea, you left it in my bag.”

“I did? Thank God! You’re the best Senku!” they ran up to him, placing a quick kiss to his cheek.

He tried to keep his blush under control and he nodded.

S/o stopped what they were doing as they looked at him with a blush. “Well, of course, it’s no problem. But where is this coming from?”

S/o furiously lifted their finger to their lips and emitted a loud “SHHHHH!!!!”

“Anyway, do you guys see how creative she is?? In a second she can create the most fashionable clothes!! And look around you!!,” s/o gestured to the artistic designs on the walls and floors, “who do you think painted and came up with this? It was the love of my life, Yuzuriha Ogawa!!! And!!! Do you know how kind and sweet she is? She always helps people when they need help and is always willing you help you perfect your craft skills! And-”

S/o stopped as they saw Yuzuriha standing at the door with a blush on her face.

“YUZURIHHAAAA!!!”

S/o jumped off the table and ran to her, squeezing her body in a tight hug. “I missed you soooo much!”

“She’s only been gone for 5 minutes…” one of the club members sighed.

“S-s/o…” Yuzuriha gently smiled as she patted their hair. Her heart squeezed and pounded against her chest because of s/o’s cuteness.

“I love you, s/o…” Yuzuriha murmured softly. The club members looked up, astonished. S/o looked up with a huge grin on their face.

“It’s been a nice little chat, but as you can see, I have to go.”

They quickly exited the school as s/o sighed. “You saw that didn’t you-” s/o did not get to finish their sentence as Taiju screamed.

“S/O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he yelled at the top of his lungs as he effortlessly picked s/o up and spun them around in the air.

HJ-7 analysis (Re-Upload)

Okay, (I) watched some Youtube channels and we can get our red liquid by combining Chlorine water with Potassium Iodide (because the chlorine displaces iodine from its iodide solution)

But now we are back to square 1. Because Phosphorus refuses to not explode with Iodine.

Phosphoric acid (a weaker phosphorus) + Potassium Hydroxide also creates a red colour.

Alright, we don’t exactly have much going on for chemicals, so let’s go into symptoms/effects of HJ-7 as well.

“Blackened face” (likely due to blood vessels reacting with the chemical; The skin relies on blood for oxygenation to rejuvenate cell growth, promote division, yada yada, and tends to take up the colour of blood, e.g jaundice which is caused by high levels of bilirubin in blood.)

With HJ-7 running through his veins what causes black blood?

Now I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad blood but you know dried blood? Dead cells which have shrivelled and lost their ability to respire? Yeah.

HJ-7 likely increases his inner body heat to the point of cellular termination (hyperthermia, not hypo which is cold conditions preventing cell work). So meaning, in that moment all of his red blood cells literally die from the intense heat of his body. Likely the bodies effort to try and get rid of the dangerous chemical INCREASED BY HJ7 BECAUSE RB CELLS DIE AT 60°C (140°F).

Please also note that humans die from Hyperthermia of around >37.5°C or 99°F min.

And to put it into perspective the human bodies average temperature is 36.1-37.2°C (97°F-99°F).

“That’s pretty close, can’t be that bad, I feel outside temperatures like that all the time” you may be thinking. But guess what. That’s outside temperature, outside your body. Your blood is actively doing it’s best to regulate your inside temperature cause we lil bitches. Once that .5° is in your body, trust me, it be hitting different.

Remember that melting face bit? (also known as tissue necrosis, i.e being corrosive to human skin)

So alot of things melt faces, Hydrofluoric acid, Caro’s Acid (Pirahna acid), fluoroantimonic acid, the Ark of the Covenant, Knowledge induced by otherworldy beings, sulphuric acid.

But what could it be? Now that depends on what it reacts with in the body. Seeing as how it ’melts’ skin we can assume that HJ7’s chemical reacts with either: Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen (the main elements of our skin chemistry).

I would like to try out Oxygen as the main contender since I’m assuming that the phosphorus in HJ7 is going absolutely buck wild in the oxygented environment (Humans are 60% water and Phosphorus doesn’t react in water soooo)

THAT’S WHERE THE BURNING MAN FESTIVAL COMES IN.

Jekyll’s body is evaporated of water, filled with something else and dead red blood cells and allows that phosphorus to go absolutely HAM in his body.

Now you may say:

No water, impossible! What the hell is he if not beef Jekyll??

Well, water is important because it’s a dissolvent of gases and elements important to your body. Nice moist skin is also great for protection and whatnot.

Now, it’s highly unlikely that all the water was removed but something likely did happen to it on account of its interaction with HJ7. Then when it was done doing its a thing, it gets replaced by regular blood, plasma and water again (assuming so, because Hyde isn’t mentioned to still have the bulging horror of dead cell filled veins; he just weird looking).

It’s probably some newly formed plasma (since that’s what blood is anyways) that was chemically souped in the body, allowing HJ-7 to Usain Bolt through his body.

Then, as swift as a coursing river, HJ7 made its way through blood vessels in a violent burst of Taco Bell and bad decisions, being replaced by the sudden mass production of new blood vessels from Jekyll’s photoshop edited bones.

Where’s it go though?

Now you could say it dissolved like some wimp ass chemicals in weak-ass dissolvent.

The closest symptom thing I could possibly get to it is blood vessel bursting/rupture due to sudden extreme changes in pressure. Now, we may be pretty elastic, but we aren’t elastigirl, and frankly, neither is Dr Jekyll.

Vessel inflammation is a foreshock of rupturing so, swelling of the face is checked here. Once those vessels popped, HJ-7 bled into his face and, well, you know the rest.

Inflammation, which is vessel constriction and clotting at its finest, trying to stop either bleeding or certain stuff from travelling through the body, ultimately could not stop the brute vibe check of HJ7. This in basic terms is an allergic reaction with important details missing.

But who cares, I’m not a teacher and this is fiction.

because I'm having a Bad Time being patient... here’s some smaller kyo/tohru moments that i’m *particularly* excited to see animated so lets hyperfixate together shall we

1. Kyo doesn't understand how girls’ hair works

For some reason this scanlation translates their speech bubbles as continued conversation from the OTHER god tier kyoru moment a scene before- when Tohru lets it slip to Kazuma that Kyo cooked for her 😊. But in the yen press edition he’s asking if she can "put her hair back [in ribbons when she's done]?” and she's like “sure it’s easy!” and he's like “..wow.” I LOVE THE DUMBASS TEEN BOY ENERGY that radiates off this tiny convo. I luv when they're allowed to act their ages!!! In fact this entire chapter (while being peak kyoru flirting) is about how far kyo has come as a person, contrasted w how far he has to go still, as it’s revealed to the reader what kind of future is being planned for him ;___; But for now he’s just making lunch with tohru, unburdened for once in his damn life, flirting up a goddamn storm in his dad's kitchen. I will ascend when we see this animated!!!!!!!

2. Kyo punches haru

Kyo has exactly one (1) cool moment in that manga and it’s this. Not only does he deck haru for being a Disrespectful Dumbass, but he also says ***tohru’s name*** in front of everyone for the first time. It’s cool x2. Also we get this amazing panel after, which showcases Takaya’s insane ability to convey timing in still drawings. In real time the action probably takes place over the course of a second, but Takaya let’s us stay there for a moment. the reader + Yuki are left to think about the implications of what just unfolded, as Kyo’s hand lingers frozen in time on Tohru’s shoulder. poetic manga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Late nite chat

Ugh too many things. 1. Once AGAIN kyo is able to see straight thru Tohru’s facade 2. Kyo opens up to her about his anxieties for the first time (?) since the true form arc, where they agreed to share their burdens and worries with each other 3. Kyo LAUGHING as she tugs at his flimsy magical bone bracelet that is literally the only thing keeping him from turning into a 10 foot monster. He completely and implicitly trusts her. it’s growth babey!!!!! 4. that leeeeaan. it’s love babey!!

4. Tohru hurts and so do I

If you know anything about me u know i’m all about increasingly stressed + angry mid to late series tohru. She just learned every damn secret in the sohma book and is feeling super fuckin stressed. She knows the weight this info holds but decides to share it with her best friend most trusted confidante anyway, bc surely she can talk to him about anything right?? After all, the fact that the curse   HAS BEEN/CAN BE broken is hopeful right?? Kyo, of course, has given up hope long ago by this point in the story, and coldly shuts down her hypothetical question and by extension, her. and it huRRRRTTTTTTSSS. Obviously he kinda sorta patches things up with a flower (good job idiot!!!!) but it’s this early part of the scene that gets me every time. oof!!!!!!! Mid to late series Hot and Cold Kyo is where it’s at babeyyyyy 

5. More pain!!!!!

this entire chapter is *poetic manga* and i know it technically comes before the previous scene but whatever!!!!!!! There’s aaaaaa lot to unpack here. The imagery of a *car* crushing Tohru’s scarf, Kureno as a cautionary tale for what Tohru could become if she keeps carrying everyone else’s burdens and burying her own, the pay-off of Rin’s dialogue about how Tohru is quietly falling apart and needs someone to “gently open that door” for her, aka Kyo, as he picks up her scarf for her and washes it clean (SYMBOLISM!!!!) it’s a lot. I always forget about this chapter, but it’s soooo gorgeously edited and super cinematic!!! i can't WAIT to see it animated!!!!

Harp (Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask): - post-ocarina so basically she’s in the adult timeline but seven years older than she were when we last saw her at the end of oot - big mom friend,,,,,,,,,,,, tall and Motherly will adopt every child - she can and will slice a bitch if she needs to dont cross her - her scars were from the 7 years where she hid as Sheik while Time took himself a nice little nap - after sending Time back to his childhood she’s just been working to rebuild her kingdom and is now Queen - like i said on the Links one, headcanon that she’s Time’s twin sister - nothing much to say about her design it’s pretty much the same asdfghj

Plume (Skyward Sword): - still rowdy. still bapey - can and will push you off a cliff - really loves her animals and insists her remlit’s a sweetheart despite what Sky may tell her - really sweet and understanding about Sky and his napping but will still Suplex A Bitch if he’s being an ass - after what happened in skyward sword she’s in the lead of getting the settlement on the surface up and running - changed her outfit a bit to one more inspired by one of her concept designs but it’s kinda hard to see anything but a white shirt in this image asdfghj - a few scrapes and scratches from tumbling around on the surface, nothing too serious though

Dawn (Twilight Princess): - Stoic and Quiet - i’ve had Twi for five minutes, but if anything were to happen to him i would kill everyone in this room and then myself - cares a whole lot about her kingdom and will do just about anything for her people- has been working to rebuild her kingdom too but like there isn’t much to fix anyway so i guess she gets off easy - again, same design as usual aaaaand no real noteworthy scars she’s smart enough not to get killed unlike everyone else

Hope (Breath of the Wild): - NERD ALERT - spends most of her time documenting and rambling - what do you mean shes gotta rule her country she’s found a cool frog she’s gotta take pictures of!!!! - can actually remember her friends and misses them a whole lot :( - HOO GIRL YOU’VE GOT......... A WHOLE LOT TO REBUILD..... WHEW - kept her design mostly as is and gave her the green eyes because nINTENDO ARE SO INCONSISTENT WITH HER EYE COLOUR IS2G - got in a few scrapes after sAVING WILD’S DYING ASS so that’s where the scars are from

Rapier (Hyrule Warriors): - the cool but wildly irresponsible mom - *gives a whole sword to small child* hell yeah kid go fuck those bitches up - also filthy rich even compared to the other Zeldas like look at that ridiculous amount of gold and silver armour it’s not even gonna protect her dumb ass - can absolutely destroy you if she chooses to do so - has a lot of scars because sOMEONE doesn’t know how to gear up properly - knows sign language so that she can communicate with Her Boy

TODDLER - still really close to Minish they always hang out - Dramatic Little Shit - absolutely a sheltered kid there’s no way Daltus didn’t get a million times more protective of her after she got pETRIFIED??? - despite being completely baby she still manages to be taller than her Link lmao eat shit Minish - the feathers are supposed to resemble Picori feathers, no idea if they are real or not

Ghost (Spirit Tracks): - FUCKING DIES ASDFGHGFGHJ - super energetic and sweet - got all of Tetras attitude but none of the smarts. absolute Buffoon - might be out of mortal danger but still gets in trouble all the damn time - barely has any scars because ghosts don’t get injuries but she does have a big burn/lightning like scar on her chest/stomach from having her sOUL RIPPED OUT OF HER BODY - redesigned the dress a bit so she’d look different from Pebble - also the ribbon in her hair is supposed to be a Tetra’s old bandana!! she got it as a gift from her when she was still Very Small

Tetra (The Wind Waker): - Fuck Yeah Pirate Time - completely Rowdy. Will Stab a Bitch - is more like a robin hood type of outlaw she only steals from Corrupt Rich Asshats like a good pirate should - swears WAY too much. Horrible Influence on Children - is missing like half on her left leg, probably lost it to like a gyorg or some shit - scars are from various battles with other pirates, bokoblins, birds, etc. - busy finding a New Continent

Crystal (A Link To The Past): - tired............... needs a break - Just Wants Link To Stop Dying And Come Back Here For Once!!!!!!! dumbass - real quiet but real calculated - Reads Minds and Talks Inside Peoples Heads - real fond of gardening her own herbs and vegetables  -listen i KNOW they’re like her pajamas or some shit but the blue dress just suits her better!!!! also Canvas doesn’t have any alternate costumes soooo

Ribbon (The Legend of Zelda): - ROUND!!!! CHUMBY!!!!!!!!!! - very sweet and very bubbly - will absolutely hug you to death and there’s nothing you can do about it - rebuilt an entire kingdom because uhh that thing kinda fell apart a couple hundred years after ALBW - doesn’t have any scars because she just kinda sat around while Ganon and Link were having a bit of an argument - i changed her dress to be green because of her in game sprite

Dreamer (The Adventure of Link): - HEY GUYS DID YOU KNOW THAT CLASSIC SAVES TWO ZELDAS??? BECAUSE I DIDN’T REALIZE UNTIL NOW - THIS BITCH CAME BEFORE PEBBLE.......... SHE SLEPT FOR /THOUSANDS/ OF YEARS STRAIGHT - is Very confused, doesn’t know what the hell is going on 99% of the time - absolute grandma, doesn’t understand any of this newfangled technology - just real sweet but also completely disoriented - i guess she just kinda helps Ribbon figure out how to get all the old rules and traditions back in place, just a complete big sister for her

so,,  since  she  cant  remember  her  life  as  a  human,  i’ll  keep  it  short   !!!   but  i  figured  it’s  worth  mentioning

as  a  human,  she  had  big  aspirations.  she  was  raised  predominantly  by  her  grandmother  because  her  parents  were  always  working

luella had  always  wanted  to  be  a  dancer,  but  she  came  from  a  lower  middle  class  family  and  they  couldn’t  afford  to  put  her  in  lessons.  so,  sometimes  she  would  watch  classes  through  the  window

she  studied  hard  in  school  and  was  at  the  top  of  her  class,  and  despite  never  formally  receiving  lessons,  all  her  years  of  observing  classes  made  her a  promising  dancer

lu took  a  year  off  after  high  school  to  work  and  save  money,  and  planned  to  audition  for  a  prestigious  ballet  academy  in  europe  because  there  were  recruiters  in  her  town

however,  on  the  way  to  the  audition,  she  died  in  a  car  accident  along  with  her  parents.  a  few  months  prior  to  this,  her  grandmother  had  died  of  old  age

so,  with  the  deaths  of  her  and  her  family,  it  didn’t  take  long  for  her  to  be  forgotten  all  together

as  an  angel,  luella  avoided  living  with  humans  at  first.  she  did  not  want  to  get  too  attached,  and  she  felt  that  living  among  them  wouldn’t  end  well  for  her

however,  even  from  a  distance,  she  became  attached  to  one  human.  it  was  a  girl,  a  ballet  dancer.  it  was  then  she  made  the  decision  to  live  among  humans,  and  she  decided  to  take  up  ballet  to  be  closer  to  her

still,  even  living  among  humans,  she  managed  to  keep  some  distance.  she  was  more  reserved,  and  extremely  observant.  eventually  though,  the  two  became  friends.  she  felt  more  protective  over  this  one human  above  all  others

this  continued  for  a  while,  but  the  guilt  of  having  a  favorite  began  to  linger  in  her  thoughts.  she  made  the  decision  to  leave and  continue  watching  her  from  afar  instead

once  lu left  the  human  world,  she  started  to  feel  a  lot  better  about  herself  and  could  say  she  no  longer  had  favorites.  for  a  few  years,  this  worked perfectly.  except  the  ballet  dancer  she  had  once  been  so  close  to  developed  an  illness  and  passed  away  from  it

lu  was  riddled  with  regret.  she  wished  she  had  stayed  close  to  her  for  the  remainder  of  her  life  instead  of  running  away.  the  worst  part  was,  she  knew  that  human  felt  abandoned  by  her

it  was  the  first  time  as  an  angel  that  she  felt  like  a  failure

for  a  while  after  the  death  of  the  dancer,  luella  couldn’t  focus  properly.  she  began  spacing  out  a  lot,  making  mistakes  more  frequently  (  when  prior  to  this,  she  was  the  perfect  example  of  what  an  angel  should  be  ).  she  could  not  move  on  and  started  to  feel  like  she  was  not  fit  to  be  an  angel

as  this  was  negatively  impacting  her  ability  to  carry  out  her  responsibilities,  she  pressured  by  the  other  angels  to  either  overcome  her  failures  or  lose  her  status  as  an  angel

this  ultimatum  made  her  realize  she  wanted  to  remain  an  angel  and  that  she  would  have  to  get  her  act  together  to  do  so. for  a  brief  moment,  she  contemplated  giving  up  her  status,  to  be  able  to  forget  it  all.  but  when  it  came  down  to  it,  she  didn’t  want  to  lose  the  memories  of  all  those  she  had  crossed  paths  with,  especially  the  dancer,  who  at  least  was  alive  in  her  thoughts

it  was  not  easy  to  return  to  being  the  perfect  angel,  but  she  worked  hard  to  get  back  to  that  level  

eventually,  she  felt  ready  to  live  among  humans  once  more.  she  decided  to  move  to  lunehaven  for  a  while,  though  she  really  wants  to  move  to  paris  one  day.  in  the  meantime,  she  has  continued  pursuing  ballet  and  works  as  an  instructor  for  kids

she  attempts  to  live  a  quiet  life,  not  getting  too  close  to  anyone,  but  it  does  get  lonely  sometimes

luella  tends  to  be  quite  reserved.  she  rarely  initiates  conversations  or  hangouts,  but  is  relieved  when  someone  else  does.  she  enjoys  being  social,  she’s  just skeptical  about  getting  too  close  to  others

she  is  a  scorpio  sun  with  a  libra  moon  so  take  that  as  u  will   !!

she  is  extremely  devoted  to  dance  and  being  an  angel  (  despite  everything  that  happened  ),  and  also  very  devoted  to  the  few  that  she  is  close  to,  however,  she  changes  her  mind  a  lot  about  other  things.  her  mood  tends  to  change  a  lot,  but  she  does  her  best  to  keep  this  to  herself

as  you  can  expect  of  scorpio  and  libra  placements,  she  can  be  quite  an  intense/obsessive  lover  BUT  can  also  be  flighty  if  something  seems  too  serious  or  causes  her  to  feel  too  much.  yes,  she  is  a  walking  paradox  i  do  not  want  2  live  in  her  head  !!!

she  adores  classical  music,  which  can  be  expected  of  a  ballet  dancer.  she  wants  to  learn  how  to  play  violin  one  day

her  taste  is  pretty  ....  refined,  so  she  can  be  quite  the  snob  sometimes 

she  enjoys  going  to  the  theatre  and  the  opera  and  stuff  like  that,  and  mostly  goes  alone

she  comes  alive  at  nighttime  tbh,,  the  quiet  hours  once  everyone  has  gone  to  sleep  is  her  favorite  time  of  day.  she  lovessss  stargazing  and  if  you  become  her  friend,  she  will  force  you  to  have  picnics  under  the  stars

current fling/friends  w  benefits  -  someone  she  is  currently  seeing.  could  be  no  strings  attached,  or  there  could  b  some  feelings  there.  maybe  they  don’t  want  to  make  it  anything  serious,  or  maybe  they’re  ready  to  take  it  to  the  next  level.  maybe  one  person  is  ready  to  go  further,  and  the  other  isn’t.

enemies  w  benefits  -  imagine  the  tension   !!!   they  started  out  hating  each  other  but  ended  up  hooking  up.  maybe  it  was  a  one  time  thing,  or  maybe  they  can’t  stop  going  back  to  each  other.  maybe  they  keep  it  a  secret  and  don’t  want  anyone  else  to  know.  this  could  develop  in  soooo  many  ways 

ex-friends  -  someone  she  used  to  consider  a  best/close  friend,  but  they  had  a  falling  out  for  whatever  reason  n  maybe  they  strongly  dislike  each  other  now.  maybe  they  want  to  re-kindle  their  friendship  but  don’t  know  how

sibling-like friendship  -  someone  she  sees  like  a  sibling.  they’re  there  for  each  other  and  look  out  for  one  another,  always  have  each  other’s  backs 

dynamic  duo  -  ride  or  dies.  platonic  soulmates   !!   this  person  is  prob  one  of  the  closest  people  to  her  and  knows  her  very  well   !    they  could  b  a  power  duo,  always  looking  out  for  each  other

take  care  -  i  think  it  would  be  cool  if  maybe  one  day  she  drank  a  little  too  much  or  was  having  an  off  day  in  general  and  your  muse  helped  her  get  home  and  spent  the  night  to  make  sure  she  was  okay.  lu  probably  feels  like  she  owes  them  a  favor  and  is  really  grateful  in  general  that  they  took  the  time  to  care

confidant  -  someone  who  confides  in  her  or  someone  she  confides  in,  or  they  confide  in  each  other.  they  don’t  necessarily  have  to  be  the  closest  friends  ever,  but  they  get  along,  trust  each  other,  and  maybe  they  talk  more  in  private

rivals  -  they  don’t  like  each  other  for  whatever  reason,  which  we  can  plot. maybe  it’s  jealousy  or  their  personalities  just  clash,  but  for  whatever  reason  they  do  not  get  along.  maybe  they  bring  out  a  bad  side  to  her  that  most  people  dont  see

good  influence  -  someone  she  can  be  a  good  influence  on,  someone  she  brings  out  the  best  in,  maybe  someone  she  rly  cares  about  and  wants  to  look  after  to  make  sure  they’re  ok   !!

I feel like talking about something kinda-sorta more casual again,,, last time I talked about certain character’s name origins... This time I wanna talk about... hmm....

Concept Design/Portrait/Character Story Choices I Made Before I Finalized Them!! Yea!!!

Because a lot of characters appearances look very different than how they are now. And even some characters acted differently, or some “concept” characters who no longer exist had a similar role to these “finalized” characters! And a lot of characters had aspects of themselves & their reasons for being in Maginia changed... 

It’s all very fun to reminisce about, for me 😅.

Anyway, again, stuff under rm because this one is Long. Let’s start with...

1) Zandiel

Uh... His primary design never looked any different NHGNKG... This entire fic partially started because of a sort of domino effect that started with “wow I’ve never made Hero M1 in EOX before! Maybe I should! Surely this will not come back to alter my life in any form :) ...Anyway I want this dude to have bright green hair, brown eyes, dark skin, Voice 8 or 15, and... name? Hmmm, Ain? Maybe? Zandiel...?”

Soooo... yeah. His design/personality was the same through the earliest concepts to right now. Of course, as he started to become “the protag of an EOX fic I wanna write” I had to start thinking of his actual story & abilities!

2) Siegril

His portrait/personality was the same throughout. Also I can’t remember exactly what he did before I decided “he’s an assassin who was sent to kill Zandy”, but now that I think about it, I think he was always that. 

Zandiel & Siegril gave me the least amount of trouble. Absolute kings.

Anyway, Siegirl has had some slight cosmetic changes that actually started happening AFTER I started the fic. Like, his hair became poofier (in drawings), he has big yellow bubble accessories that hold the front part of his hair together instead of those tiny gold cylinder accessories, and his ears are shorter/slightly rounder than Celestrian’s ears.

He never did have those Warlock arm-tubes, though. And boy howdy do I have a reason fo--

3) Ylva

Alright, now here’s where we start REALLY getting into changes.

Originally, the character who fulfilled the role of “Wing’s owner & an experienced explorer, also a guide of sorts” was actually going to be Dragoon 2 (Eyepatch Dragoon), and her name wasn’t Ylva (I forgot her name,,,). She was practically a different character.

She and Wing were going to be a pair of “veteran explorers” who viewed things much more seriously. You actually wouldn’t have met them until the Lush Woodlands, where they would be helping beginner adventurers through that labyrinth.

And then at another point in OtL’s concept phase, Ylva was originally going to have the appearance of Therian F! At this point, her name actually did become Ylva, and you would meet her & Wing the same way you do in the finalized version! 

Though, at this time, the tavern Zan & Sieg met them at WAS actually going to be... K... Kv-- bro I can’t even say it. Anyway, stan Ethis.

Alright, back to Ylva, I eventually ended up changing her design to this one, and things were pretty much set from there! Earthlain F babey,,,

4) Tenmaar

At first... Tenmaar was simple enough. At first, his overall role was going to be fulfilled by a dude named “Neo”, and Neo had the appearance of Masurao M2. He also acted much more chipper, but in a mischief-causing way. I guess if you wanted to compare Neo to any of the final characters, he was like a mix of finalized Luxes/Alverion/Kor?

Anyway, this guy still used a Drive Blade, and you still had your first “real” meeting with him in the Eastern Shrine. The scene played out slightly differently, where “Neo” was actually in the middle of fighting the Blossombeast itself, and he ends up joining the Empyrean guild after that (Siegril was still wary of Neo, similarly to the way he is with Tenmaar. However, for Neo, it was more because of the way he acted as opposed to Tenmaar’s whole “mana” deal).

Eventually, for one reason or another (I’m pretty sure it’s because I decided on Luxes being a character) I decided I wanted to change this “Neo” lad’s personality. And I wanted an appearance change along with it.

AND THIS IS WHERE IT ALL WENT TO SHIT FOR A BIT.

TENMAAR (whose name probably wasn’t even finalized yet) ENDED UP BECOMING THE MOST DIFFICULT CHARACTER TO DECIDE ON A DESIGN AND PESONALITY FOR.

We had Fencer 1, Dark Hunter 1, Highlander M, Shogun 1 (yes, Leonidas’ final design), Ninja 1, Landsknecht 1, Masurao 1 of course, and... probably more that I considered momentarily, but these were the primary ones I was juggling between for 3000 years. We had all kinds of personality ideas, too.

In the end, I was starting to lean towards Fencer or Dark Hunter, but felt that he and Siegril would have felt a bit too similar to me if he was the Dark Hunter. I can’t fully explain it, but I just didn’t like it, and there was no way I was changing Sieg’s design for Tenmaar’s sake. So I ended up with Masu 1... an astounding conclusion to the worst design-choosing tale in this story: going from Masurao to Masurao Again.

And in Fencer’s case, his design just didn’t feel right for Tenmaar.

Aaand yep I’m very happy with Masu 1 Tenmaar. Damn ya tits fat, what’s ya pronouns

5) Biscotti

My guy was gonna look like Buccaneer 1 for a bit, actually.

Yeah he was still gonna be dressed like a medic, as Biscotti was always intended to be a medic, but he was originally gonna be,.... Pretty Different. In looks and in personality. Much less chill & joke-y. In the end, I much preferred the idea of Biscotti acting the way he does now, so I dropped the old personality. Soon, I changed the looks, too.

Also, for a while, Biscotti was originally going to be a part of the Seafarers’ crew, which meant that you literally wouldn’t have met him until WHEN THE SEAFARERS PULL UP--

When I got to the point where I decided that Biscotti would run a hospital in Maginia (design & personality change already done by this point), he was originally going to have a husband who worked as an apothecary (sidenote: Kor & Ruki didn’t exist at this point. Sure there’s nothing wrong with 3 apothecaries but I’ll just put that out there because why not--).

You may be wondering why I keep saying Biscotti and not including Flynn, well that’s because:

6) Flynn & Sheria

While Flynn’s design stayed the same the entire time, his role was much different. He was originally not “Biscotti’s little brother who works as the Leader of the Redray Rescue Division” (there was a brief moment where I decided they straight up weren’t even related) but instead...

“Sheria’s retainer who traveled around dungeons with her as a duo and was Biscotti’s long-lost brother, though he had no recollection of Biscotti” 

Yeah... Flynn’s role and story sure has changed a lot. He & Sheria were originally going to be a duo that you’d meet every once in a while in towns or labyrinths, where they’d both be strolling around & having a grand ol’ fun time every time you saw them. 

The Empyreans would always wonder if the two were gonna be alright, and just HOW they’ve been able to make it this far. Not just because it’s only two of them, but because of how frivolous they seemed to be inside of the labyrinths.

Still, the two would help the Empyreans whenever they crossed paths, and would eventually both join the guild!

7) Kaida

Kaida was originally going to have the appearance of Protector 2 (pigtails protector), and you would have met her-- unconscious-- in the Small Orchard where her friend (this character ended up being dropped, but her name was Perrine) would ask the Empyreans for help because of a monster (Owlbeast) that attacked Kaida.

I can’t say much about what Kaida “was and was not going to be like in terms of aspirations and stuff” because, at this point of ET: OtL, I haven’t given much info about her in the actual story. So, you know, wouldn’t want to spoil or anything.

Just know that she was originally going to act more gung-ho, and her friend was the more sensible one who’d try and stop her from being reckless. Kaida & Perrine would then be like Sheria & Flynn: a duo that the Empyreans occasionally see in town/dungeons and eventually end up recruiting.

Originally, EVERYONE was meant to join the Empyrean guild. See how Biscotti didn’t own a hospital and Sheria wasn’t leading her own guild. Yep, they were all originally intended to be full-time Empyreans. Eventually it kinda hit me that “Hey, not everything here has to be centered around the Empyrean Guild. Oh, and not everyone HAS to join them, either.” so... yep there’s that!

This was a lotta fun to write & reminisce about, like I said earlier ghkgn...

Puma fits small tho. Like this was a medium, and it’s a bit small. And I’m just a regular 34-B/C (depending on the damn company ofc). 

I actually bought it cos of what we were talking about the other day and I was like “i need more sportsbras. sore boobies need gentleness, no more underwires.” (and i gotta say it has helped a lot it seems.) i honestly haven’t really worn sportsbras regularly since...like high school...... so this is all new haha. altho i’m now in the state where if i don’t have to wear a bra at all i won’t. (very different to even 5 years ago when i’d never NOT wear one, even to bed.)

(the older ones i believe, and they tend to show more real bodies in older women. cos older women aren’t meant to fit in the ~tumblr aesthetic~ anyway.) but with the exception of one or two selfies, i don’t often see actual lesbian bodies here. lots of heavily filtered, posed, aesthetic photos of 18 year olds with perfect bodies. which is like... not most of us?  and to be totally frank, it took me so fucking long to be ok with my body and it wasn’t until i really accepted who i was (AND be around other women consistently naked and had it not matter to them) that i even was comfortable with it. like i’ve always been so, not ashamed, but shy. (and i know if you saw photos from when i was 19 and walking around in like no clothes you’d be like “are you sure? cos you look pretty confident in that teeny bikini or dress.” but inside i was very much not confident. i did it to fit in and be popular lol. sweet sweet (fake) validation, babey!). the self love that comes with being with other women is incredible.  anyway yeah so like i know how my body DOESN’T fit into the ideal aesthetic (and i’ve had plenty of comments in the past irl about my lack of “womanly”/”child bearing” hips, skinny arms, etc etc. the hip thing always kind of made me laugh tho cos i am always like “well, nature knows! good thing i never want kids then if i don’t have the hips for it!!”) but i think it’s important for people to see regular bodies around. like yeah? a little tummy? i used to be devastated by that (and doctors thought i had an ED cos of it) but i’ve come to accept that it ain’t going anywhere cos i’m a female and that’s just how it’s meant to be. esp as we get older. (and my wife insists it’s cute. cos i was skinnier when i met her and she’s like “you look so much better now”, which is similar to the time i lost a lot of weight to get rid of that tummy specifically cos it’s used to be a Big Thing I Hated, and once i put back on some weight my granny was like “oh thank god. you looked really sick before”.) and esp when you come from a culture that doesn’t have more body acceptance. like the first time i went to iceland and to the pool and all the women were just wandering around naked, in all ages and forms, and with zero shame, i wa slike WHAT IS THIS WORLD??? it was baffling to me. cos even in change rooms here it’s quite i dunno hush hush (altho not men’s locker rooms cos i’ve spent a lot of time in those when i was the only girl on the hockey team and they’re just boldly naked and don’t give a single fuck. but women’s lockerrooms? always a bit more...i dunno.). except old ladies who don’t give any shits whatsoever. but all ages there, just going about their business--and i STILL felt insecure which is crazy. i was stared at more for NOT being buttnaked. even the kids were like “wtf”. i want that sort of casual, easy body acceptance and lack of fear of judgement. and i didn’t even shave my pits here (it’s been weeks)... and i forgot until i posted the photos... and then i realised, it seems really obvious to me irl but then i look at the photos, and i’m like “shit, it’s not really noticeable is it? i’ve been freaking out all this time over nothing???” that was pretty stunning tbh. i didn’t realise til i took the photo that it’s not this massive deal. anyway i’m just sort of sick of the “young, thin, hyper-feminine so-called lesbian with long straight hair and sexy undies” ideal (esp when softly touching other young, thin, feminine so-called lesbians). my god just searching “lesbian” on this hellsite is 95% that exact content (that isn’t a comic or illustration which is the only way to see real bodies lol how ironic). god forbid there’s a butch in sight, even a soft butch, or normal body, or natural bush/hair, or tomboy that isn’t super feminine. (the only tomboys allowed are the cute ones with the hipster shirts and backwards ballcap with long hair and perfect eyeliner). we get the occasional professional athlete but that’s it. her father protested, due to how close she was to her due date, but despite her pregnancy, her mother never really stopped working and continued to work even after seraphina was born

the story behind her parents marriage was not especially romantic. her mother came from old money, and her father was a soccer player, also heir to his parents fortune. it was a match made in heaven--or hell, depending on who you ask

they were quick to marry, but her father actually fell madly in love. her mother enjoyed his devotion, but when it came down to it, she was married to her career and all she really strove for was success

they were married for around 8 long years when her mother got pregnant. of course, it wasn’t planned in the slightest, and she wasn’t too thrilled but her parent’s (sera’s granparent’s) had been pushing for grandchildren for years

her father was happy. he thought a child was the perfect way to get her mother to step down from work for a bit and for them to actually be a happy family

✂️  I’ve been wanting a good excuse to come to front for SO LONG. Everyone else just has such a fun time and I’m always fine chilling with Carol & Rook in headspace so I don’t necessarily need to front much but Emmie was out today so I was extremely happy to come and see sier!! 💞💛

It took Toby a while to fall asleep last night but when Mason’s alarm started going off for us to get up for au’s doctor’s appointment I really didn’t want to get up because I was soooo comfy but I made it!

We went to the appointment and it went well, then headed to the mall and got food and bubble tea, I had a wonderful “tuttie fruittie” crêpe that had nutella, strawberries, and bananas, it was SO good! I got a taro sherbet bubble tea and that was really good too. Mason got ramen that also looked really good! We took transit to get to Walmart and got some things we needed for the house and we picked up some new good headphones and a longer usb-c charging cord we needed for our phone!

I got to chat with Emmie a bit throughout the day and Strom even came to see me! Which made me so happy. I don’t get to see my canonfriends very much, mostly because I don’t front very much, but it makes me happy that they’re out there doing life and hopefully having a good time.

I’m really hoping me and Emmie can work on some crafts together soon since companions have some projects to do in college this semester. I know Z wants to work on the shrine but the other stuff is my time to shine babey! Really excited.

I kind of got vortexed out of front because when I started to do laundry when we got home I made a terrible mistake and the body like immediately erased our whole personality and replaced it with a Legendary OCD Meltdown but I did have a good day with Emmie (and Strom!) and Mason. I hope I can come back soon to spend more time with the others! 💞💛💞💛
