The point of this post is to explain why I, personally, enjoy Buck/Tommy. I’m not trying to convince or persuade anyone to feel as I do. And in that same vein, whoever reads this, if you read this all the way until the end and you’re still neutral or still dislike Buck/Tommy, honestly that’s fine. However, please do not comment or reblog to try to dissuade me from my enjoyment. If by the end of this post, whoever you are, still feels unsure about Buck/Tommy, truly that’s fine, but I’m not the person to talk to about your unease or hesitancy, okay?
All right.
I’ll state it up front that, yes, Buck/Tommy did happen a bit quickly. I agree, but it doesn’t really bother me. Allow me to explain and elaborate. I’ll be jumping around talking about Buck, Buck/Tommy and just Tommy, so bare with me.
For starters, I’m just happy to see Buck so giddy, excited, and happy about a love interest. The last time we’ve seen Buck remotely like this was with Abby. So it’s just a refreshing thing to witness and frankly for Buck to experience. Once Buck got past admitting, “oh yeah, my date was with a guy,” Buck was so excited to talk about Tommy with Maddie, someone very important to him. As well, I don’t think any previous love interests have looked so charmed and smitten with Buck the way Tommy does. On that note. Tommy has seen Buck be goofy, jealous, inquisitive, awkward, nervous, sweet, honest, a little bit of a mess, and still thought, “yeah, I’m attracted to this one.” <3
Now I fully recognize that Buck is not suddenly fixed by having gone on one official date with Tommy. Certainly not. Buck most definitely still has plenty of issues to work through, and on some level, probably always will because - just look at his past. Now I don’t know how long Buck is going to be with Tommy, but I don’t think there’s any inherent harm in Buck, even with his issues, dating Tommy for a little while. I don’t see it as Buck doing some kind of irrevocable damage to himself or Tommy if they just date for a bit. Yes, at some point Buck should be on his own and do some self reflection (which he struggles with), but until then? I’d just like to see Buck continue to be excited to get to know Tommy, and work on figuring out how he feels about his uncovered queerness.
Tommy is a breath of fresh air in many ways to me. A big thing is that he already had a connection to the 118. He’s a firefighter and also air rescue, thus can understand and click with Buck on a major and important level. Abby was a first responder, yes, but she too like all other past love interests of Buck’s were still pretty much disconnected from Buck’s friends, family, and his job. They were almost always separate. Then we can add on the fact that Tommy is friends with Eddie, which is another big connecting point for Buck and Buck and Tommy in general. Hell, Tommy has already met Christopher who already appears to like Tommy, too. The only previous girlfriend of Bucks that met Christopher was Taylor Kelly of all people, and I doubt Chris and Taylor interacted all that much since Eddie and Buck were there as buffers. Plus that dinner was for Eddie’s sake more than anyone else. To be clear about Bucks previous relationships, Abby was an interesting character that I liked, but I was certainly not impressed with her ghosting Buck and then not really apologizing for that. Ali was perfectly fine, but she was barely there, so there was no time or reason to get attached. Taylor Kelly is the only one I hate and do I really need to explain why? Natalia was fine I guess. She was hardly developed, so I certainly never got attached to her. We never understood why she liked Buck beyond him dying. She was also very much a “no homo” insert, but that’s just me. In addition, the only compelling relationship Buck has had up to this point was with Abby. There was nothing to grasp onto for Ali or Natalia, and please tell me what was compelling or fun to watch about Taylor and Buck being in an unhealthy and miserable relationship. Idk, maybe if I’d watched season 4 live, I might have felt a little more open towards Taylor and Buck and their friendship, but I kinda doubt it. When I did watch it all I could think of was, “why does Buck want to be friends with Taylor Kelly of all people so bad?” But anyway. Tommy is the first love interest of Bucks that I actually like, without any hesitation. He’s just a good guy, and a little bit silly (fake mouth static you’ll always be famous). Though some people ignore it, Tommy did change in season 2. Yes he started out as a jerk, someone just going with the bad flow of the firehouse (and to protect himself), but he did change from that. I think in his last episode of season 2 it shows him being on much better terms with Hen and Chimney. They threw him a “moving to Harbor” party! In present times? Tommy’s clearly more at ease, confident, friendly, charming, sweet, has shown vulnerability, is honest, social, mature, and helped Hen and Chimney at the drop of a hat - at the risk of being suspended or fired - to save Athena and Bobby. I’m sure I can list off more traits and interesting attributes, but you get it. To me Tommy already has a lot of personality and I do look forward to discovering and learning more about him. And that’s an important thing, that I’m interested in Tommy as a character. I’m not trying to be a dick, but I couldn’t say the same for most of Buck’s previous love interests (nor Eddie’s).
And sure Buck needed some nudging from Eddie to not give up on Tommy, but he did actively reach out to and meet up with Tommy, and was honest about where he is in all this, you know? That’s a key thing, Buck being more active. He passively fell into every other relationship he’s been in. That’s not me dismissing those relationships, because Buck did learn something from each. I’m pointing out an important difference. Buck, before Tommy kissed him at the loft and when they met up at the cafe, has been quite open and honest with Tommy. At least on screen, idk when Buck has been quite this upfront about stuff at the start of things, so to speak, with a love interest. That’s progress for Buck. Perhaps not massive, but it’s not nothing.
Like. Buck just discovered a whole new and big part of himself. He discovered this missing piece of him that’s eluded him for so long (basically his whole life). He’s going to be messy about it. But just because he’s going to be a bit off balance about it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t date someone (re: Tommy) right now. Tommy is aware that this is all new for Buck (side note: here’s a link to a post that talks about the nuance of Tommy, while gentle with Buck, was a bit annoyed at the end of their date and wanted to leave, which was fair and valid. it’s a good read). At the same time, as I mentioned early on in the post, I also think that yeah, at some point Buck does need to be on his own to do some much needed self reflection. Until then, damn, I just want him to try out this sweet thing he has going with Tommy.
And yeah, I just think Buck and Tommy are cute together. I do think they have chemistry (which was lacking/absent in some of Bucks previous relationships). I’m intrigued by the potential they have together, even knowing they’re not meant for something long term, and that’s okay. Even for a short time they still can have a good and happy time. And in my ideal world, they’ll remain friends when they part ways.
If I had to attempt to sum this all up… I find Tommy interesting on his own, and I like what I’ve seen with Buck and Tommy together. I’m thrilled to see Buck so into and smitten with Tommy, since we haven’t seen Buck like this since Abby. Buck and Tommy are cute and refreshing to watch. Plus, I want to see Tommy stick around and not just for Buck, but because of his friendship with Eddie, and to see him continue to? properly? reconnect with Chimney, Hen, and Bobby.
If you read till the end, thanks! Even now I feel like I probably missed explaining something haha.

Do you have any more Cazador brainrot to share? I'm so glad someone else is deranged about the stinky rat man <3
I was so sad that we never got to have a talk with him one on one. I replayed his confrontation scene so many times and even tried leaving Astarion far away so Cazador would be forced to talk to my character but nothing new or interesting came up.
I read that datamined storyline about him is that he was supposed to be a powerful ally to us at some point, we would have to work together with him in the upper city to take down some butcher guy. And as much as I treasure Astarion and want the best for him, I still would've taken Cazador partnership proposal because he is such a fascinating character.
I genuinely want to study him if I could, he is so compelling.
The only reason he succeeded the most above all of his predecessors, is that he genuinely took the rules his Master set to heart. He still disobeyed him but he understood that his punishments weren't for disobeying him but for failing to escape or overthrow him when he did.
His punishments were for his failure to overthrow his master.
He even overthrew his Master on his own, while Astarion needed us to do it for him. He was just as tortured and broken and yet managed to do it all by himself.
And something tells me he wanted Astarion to overthrow him, that he was almost grooming him for that role. Cazador never let anyone come close to being his equal in all of his years of living. Maybe he was just sick of life but wanted to go out in a flame, either Astarion takes his chance and overthrows him, or Cazador ascends and life might have new meaning then.
God, I would've killed for the opportunity to talk to a fully ascended Cazador. I want to see what changes about him then. Like he is already the worst person possible, how can they make him worse?
That guy didn't miss a single small detail if you focus on his story, he never slips and never leaves a chance for failure. He either killed all of the remaining Szarr family memebers or turned them into vampires so he'd remain the head.
Yes not spawns, full Vampires.
He could've replaced Astarion, but for some reason, he didn't, which I'm not sure what to make of? His Master told him not to rush things when you're a near immortal so maybe that's why.
He is also old, like very, very old. He has been a vampire lord for 216 years. This isn't counting his almost 60 years as a vampire spawn for his previous master or his own lifespan before he was turned since he is an elf.
His old master was a strick army general.
He is the patriarch of the Szarr family. A fire took most of the other memebers' lives long ago, but he survived it.
To the public it wouldn't be suspicious at all since he is an elf, even if his lifespan crosses a thousand years then some people would chalk it up to elf magic or something.
So now, having established all of that let's get into the brainrot <3.
I really like the idea of a detective reader being after his tail. You don't suspect he is a vampire, but you definitely think something is amiss. Or maybe you do suspect it and are trying to prove it to the public.
You're from an important family too so he can't just kill you, he tries sending his spawns after you to hopefully charm you or something but all of them fail. He is deeply frustrated.
Then, one day, while hosting a noble party at his manor, your family is attending, and Cazador can just see you snooping around and trying to follow his servants.
He is just so done. He follows after you silently and waits until the two of you are alone before immediately slamming you against the wall.
He really didn't want it to come to this, your family won't get off his back if you went missing. So he'll just settle for scaring you into never coming back again.
To his surprise, he doesn't see any fear in your eyes as his threats come pouring down. His usual charming noble facade melting away as he demeans and degrades you.
No no...it's attraction he sees.
You just made his job much easier for him, didn't you? He probably doesn't even have to turn you to get you to obey.
Still...compared to his long life you're young, smell very sweet even and he has been just dying of thirst since this party started.
He imagines turning you, imagines your family's reaction when their lawful dedicated child abandons them to come to live with him instead. Publicly shifting the noble powerscale as you reduce your grand title to nothing more than being a pet on his lap to flaunt in parties.
But somehow, he feels you'd be even more dangerous as an immortal. A vampire spawn is still more powerful than a mere mortal.
Maybe he will have to do this the old way, convince you and charm you himself since his useless good for nothing spawns failed at their only purpose in life.

Hair color
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x f!pilot reader (call sign Daisy)
Summary: Is it reader's new hair color that pushes Jake to finally tell her that he is interested in her?
Warnings: None
Hello friends! Here I am again after a hiatus. I've lost a bit of inspiration and I'm searching for it again. This on is a try, and will try to post a story once a week or every two weeks. Sorry for the quality of this one, I'm not very happy with it..
Tumblr media
Comfortably seated on one of the break room sofas, she was reading the latest novel on which she had set her heart on while waiting for her turn for the day's exercises. She saw movement around her out of the corner of her eye and heard a slumping sound on the couch opposite where Hangman had just dropped himself.
She felt his gaze on her and breathed out deeply before taking a quick look over the top of her book and seeing him sunken into the couch, one arm stretched over the top of the backrest, the other hand resting on his thigh, his leg bent, ankle on the knee. He was playing with a toothpick between his teeth, his legendary pain-in-the-ass smile on the corner of his lips. She returned her gaze to her book and said, "What?
"What? I'm not allowed to admire the painting?"
She raised her eyes and turned the page of her book.
"I wonder what made you do that." He said.
"Oh Geez." She slammed the book shut and stood up, having no desire to hear his opinion, which she didn't care about, but which he would feel compelled to give.
"Eh eh." He chuckled and stood up in turn to face her and stop her from going any further.
"Jake refrain from saying anything, no one cares what you think."
He chuckled and took her hand to pull her towards him when she tried to step around him and she instinctively took a step back. He raised his other hand and tucked her hair behind her ear in a more tender gesture than she would have expected from him.
"It looks good on you. It gives you a sexier, femme fatale feel."
She raised her eyes once more and tried to withdraw her hand of his by making a step backwards but he drew it again towards him more firmly, as to avoid entering in collision with his chest she put the palm of her free hand on this one. A cloud had formed in her brain and all her thoughts were swirling, one caught in the other, without ability to think clearly. What was happening?
"Come on sweet Daisy, why are you resisting? Any resistance only fuels this sexual tension between us, you know that."
For far too long the two pilots had known each other and hung around without anyone being able to clearly define the nature of their relationship. One day they seemed to be getting along fine and the next one they could barely stand each other's presence. They had graduated the same year and lost touch afterwards, each trying to take their careers to the next level, sometimes hearing about the other's accomplishments. Hangman and Daisy had become acquaintances who had just been graduated Top Gun at the same time, yet at that time they had constantly seemed like an old couple. And while they had lost touch, fate had brought them together for the most important mission of their careers.
To say that they were not attracted to each other would have been a lie but they preferred to put all their energy into showing that they hated each other, they alone were still trying to convince themselves of this while everyone around them exasperated by their behavior were only waiting for one thing, that they finally end up having sex.
He slipped his second hand between her kidneys and a smirk stretched his lips which were only a few inches of hers and the tingling that she had so much been able to feel near him woke up in the bottom of her stomach.
"I have to admit, you used to have an effect on me, but this color... makes you look so much wilder."
"Jake shut up."
He was about to retort when their names were heard through the radio indicating to them to gain their respective planes for the exercise. Without undoing her glance of his she moved back and he let fall his hands slipping them in his pockets while following her out of the room and in the corridor.
"I've got your back dear Daisy." He said as he tilted his head to the side, his eyes resting on her ass. "As always." He added with a sly smirk as she rolled her eyes once again.
He may have been talking about her butt, but once they were in the air it couldn't have been more true. If there was one person Hangman never turned away from in flight, it was Daisy. And it was for this reason that everyone quickly realized that there was something between the two pilots. Even if no one could ever say what it was.
To her surprise, Jake didn't insist, no mockery, no reflections of any kind, just his usual haughty and overconfident air, even sometimes looking elsewhere. She didn't see him again all day, which annoyed her because she had been waiting for that. They had been circling each other years ago, they were still circling each other now, and even today she wasn't going to tell him clearly what she wanted from him, what she wanted from them. After all he obviously didn't intend to do it either, perhaps because in his case he only wanted to have fun? That's why she didn't say anything, their expectations were probably different. While she was ruminating lost in her reflections, she was drawn into a corner of the corridor that led her to the locker room, let out a cry of pure surprise that was muffled by a hand over her mouth. Her raised eyebrows frowned as she saw the blonde head standing proudly in front of her. Grabbing the hand over her mouth she abruptly withdrew it.
"What the hell are you doing Seresin?" She hissed.
"I needed a moment alone with my favorite rival."
"Oh the quota of time to be able to be alone with you has far exceeded today." She said dryly.
His sly smile stretched enough to reveal his white teeth that dressed up his perfect smile. As far as she could remember and no matter what the circumstances, she had never seen him not smile.
"It didn't seem to bother you earlier though."  Eyebrow raise number 764830862 which made him chuckle. "Stop acting like it really bothers you."
"What do you want? You have two minutes."
"You. And I'm afraid that's not enough."
He moved toward her, forcing her to back away and she bumped into the cold wall. As he had done earlier in the afternoon, he tucked her hair behind her ear and shivers ran down her spine. He leaned in to place a kiss on her neck and she closed her eyes, slipping a hand over her waist he pulled her against him and placed his lips on hers. He gave her the most tender kiss she'd probably ever had in her life and she didn't expect to receive from Jake Seresin. He was the kind of man who would put you up against the wall and give you the best sex you could get, taking away the use of your legs for a while. She opened her eyes again as he pulled away from her and placed his hand on the wall next to her head.
"As much fun as this game has been going on now, it's probably time to stop playing cat and mouse."
She looked at him puzzled, not understanding what he was getting at. Had he found more fun elsewhere? Had he grown bored and found a new prey?
"We lost touch the first time years ago.” He continued.  “I'm not letting you go without saying anything this time."
"Who are you and what have you done with that arrogant dickhead?"
He chuckled and took a few steps back, reaching out to offer her his hand to take.
"You're the only one I don't want to be that dickhead with anymore."
"But still arrogant?" She raised an eyebrow as she took his hand.
"You can't take away my best quality." He replied with his usual arrogant smile which had the merit of making her laugh. "Let me have your back dear Daisy.”
As he had always done, he had always looked out for her and he would continue to do so, a little closer from now on.

Talk about your sense 8au
(For the WIP title tag game, list of titles here.)
More than gladly, my anonymous friend!
So I was rewatching Netflix's Sense8 dubbed in German as part of my effort to get better at it and not forget everything I learned at the course I took, and I was reminded of how compelling the premise of that series is, and then the brainrot, predictably enough, grabbed a hold of me and basically forced me to apply the premise to the characters from the Sandman.
(For anyone who isn't familiar with Sense8, the basic premise is that there people - sensates - who are born with a genetic mutation which allows them to psychically connect to each other and visit each other through (more or less) astral projection. Each of these people go through a "rebirth" at some point in their lives when these abilities are awakened within them and they are immediately connected to a handful of individuals scattered across the globe who happen to have been born (their first, physical birth) at the exact same moment. These people form a "cluster", and within a cluster it's possible to not only visit one another but share emotions and sensations and knowledge such as how to speak French or fight or cook or ski or most anything really. Through eye contact, it's possible to connect with other sensates outside of one's cluster. The ability to utilise connections can be inhibited with medications called "blockers".)
So, naturally, I thought that the Endless siblings should be a cluster of seven. It's a well-established cluster, it's been years since they were reborn and their abilities were "activated" so to speak, and they are famous within the sensate community for...reasons which I will refrain from spoiling here. Suffice it to say that everyone knows there should be seven of them, and seven only.
Except...one day a certain Hob Gadling runs out of the somewhat mysterious medication the doctor at work prescribed him, and he starts getting headaches and then he runs in to a feisty, trench-coat-clad brunette at the pharmacy who accidentally makes eye contact with him and suddenly she's standing right in front of him, telling him to forget they ever connected, while she's also simultaneously hurrying out of the store several yards away? And oh god, if he's hallucinating already he really needs a refill of his meds, except the ghost/hallucination is telling him she's real and that he shouldn't trust doctors???
Thankfully, he runs into her again at the pub and manages to bribe her with whisky to explain what's happening and prove that this not-quite-psychic-power she has is actually real and that he has it too. She seems surprised that he hasn't seen any of his clustermates even after a couple of days of being "reborn", so when Hob accidentally visits a pale, black-haired stranger later that day he's excited to get to know this handsome man who must be in his cluster. Except the man accuses Hob of being a spy for an evil organisation that once held him prisoner and claims that it's impossible for them to be clustermates, but then why do they keep visiting each other and why can Hob hear and smell the ocean the man lives by and how come he can suddenly speak Greek?!
Ah, it's so much fun to play around with weird psychic powers and deep intuitive connections between people who maybe shouldn't allow themselves to act on their attraction to each other and Endless family drama ❤️ It's at 38k words so far and boy oh boy is there more to come. (One-shot fics? I don't know her. Never heard of it. Sounds made up.) You can blame this fic for making sure the other ones on the WIP list will remain there a good while longer, but you can also thank this fic for making me write at all after a bit of a creative slump, so silver lining! I'm really excited about this one. I have no idea if people who aren't already into Sense8 will even choose to read this (though they should, as I've tried to write it soa as to be comprehensible even without prior knowledge), but I do not choose where the inspiration takes me! I guess Calliope just really digs Sense8 at the moment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Snippet under the read more!
“Is there anything else I could help you with today?”
The woman grunted and turned her head to look around the store, as if searching for inspiration. “Suppose I might as well stock up on nicotine pl—” She immediately interrupted herself the moment her gaze fell on Hob, and her eyes widened as they met his.
Realising that it might have been a little rude to listen in on a stranger’s pharmaceutical order just to procrastinate deciding which of the plethora of almost identical painkillers to buy, Hob politely averted his eyes, only to utter a decidedly impolitely loud yelp as he turned his head to find that very same woman suddenly standing right beside him in the pain relief aisle.
Their eyes met again, and she said, “Oh, shite!” and promptly disappeared into thin air.
Head spinning, Hob turned around again in time to see the woman—yes, definitely the same woman with the same brown hair and the same light trench coat that had seen better days—tell the pharmacist, “Never mind,” and turn on her heel to walk towards the exit, looking very much like she was intentionally avoiding looking Hob’s way again.
“The fuck?”, he breathed, then started following her before he could think better of it, raising his voice to call, “Hey, wait!”
She did not slow down or turn her head, and Hob suspected he would have to break into a jog if he was to catch up to her before she left the store. However, he was saved from making a decision on that point by the fact that he suddenly found himself walking right by her side when they should, by all rights, still be in entirely different aisles.
“Wha—” he began, but she interrupted him by abruptly stopping and reaching up to seize him by the front of his shirt.
“Don’t even think about following me!” she hissed with all the intimidation someone at least a head shorter than her opponent could muster—a not inconsiderable amount, considering how the perspective shifted again so that he was once again back in his own aisle, watching one version of the woman reach the door and slipping out of the store while an identical version pressed him up against a shelf of cough syrup.
“I’m…sorry?” was all Hob managed to squeeze out, too baffled to even consider putting his professional experience to use to extricate himself from the woman’s grip. Were hallucinations supposed to be able to touch you?
“You look familiar. Have you been shadowing me while on blockers?”
Now that she said it, Hob realised she looked vaguely familiar too, but the question as to where he might have seen her before felt much less important in that moment than the one at the top of his mind, namely, “What the bloody hell is happening? Blockers— Who are you? How did you do that? Are you…real?”
Her eyes narrowed. “You’re not— You actually don’t know, do you? Aren’t you a bit old to be a newborn?”
“What?”
From the direction of the counter, Hob heard the pharmacist ask, “Sir, are you feeling all right?”
He looked over at her, then down at his assailant, then back again. The pharmacist showed no signs whatsoever of either seeing or hearing anyone other than Hob himself. “I…think I really need to talk to my GP.”
“Do you need me to call someone?” she asked, at the same time as the other woman—hallucination?—said, “Don’t. No doctors. The regular ones will have you institutionalised, and the ones in the know can’t be trusted yet.”
“Trusted—?”
“Look, mate, I’m gonna leave you with this advice: the headaches will pass soon; you’re not crazy; don’t talk to outsiders or doctors; and find someone discreet to get you blockers. They’re good to have at hand, though they’ll be expensive if people will have to resort to synthesising the main component themselves for the foreseeable future. Oh, and never visit me ever again!” This last piece of advice was delivered with a pointed shove that rattled the contents of the shelves at Hob’s back, then the woman disappeared again, as if she’d never been there at all.
“Sir? Do you need someone to escort you home, or to a hospital?”
Hob blinked and closed his gaping mouth. With some effort, he composed himself enough to say, “No, I…I can manage.” He passed a subtly trembling hand over his eyes and cleared his throat. “Just tell me one thing?”
“Of course,” replied the pharmacist, still sporting a concerned frown.
“Is it safe to combine ibuprofen with Anadin Extra, or will that fuck up my stomach?”

Hello! I'm new here! Just the other day I was going through the AsuShin tag, found your fics, and loved them! I also spent some time reading your thoughts and theories. Which brings me to ask, how do you perceive the changes and (lack of) relationship between Asuka and Shinji from Evangelion, EoE and Rebuild?
Specifically regarding Rebuild, I found it disheartening how they set Shinji and Asuka aside so easily. I'm not talking strictly nor only about shipping. I grew up watching the 90s Evangelion. And a big part of the story and its exploration of psychological themes and characters's psychology and motivation was Shinji's relationship with Asuka. Most of all in EoE, which, to me, is the ending I find most fitting.
It was dreadful to watch the redone beach sequence where Shinji thanks Asuka for admitting she used to like him, then him saying he used to like her back. Only for them to have that "everything is suddenly happy now" ending. This sequence seems to discredit most of the themes and sacrifices made in the original story, and does not satisfactorily brings their story to a close, but instead seem to try to brush it aside or bypass it somehow. Again, I do ship AsuShin but my grievance has much more to do with the way Rebuild handled them, I don't think in a story like Evangelion we could ever have had hopes of them living happily ever after or even be together necessarily
Hello!
Thanks for being here. I wanted to answer this as thoughtfully as I could! Asuka and Shinji are definitely a complicated pair. Regardless of shipping, they require care and attention to understand.
In NGE/EoE, the focus of the series is on their interactions, especially with the End of Evangelion. Episode 9 onward is focused primarily on the interactions between Asuka and Shinji, their highs and lows, the back and forth and their eventual downfalls. I always find it funny how people are highly critical of the interactions between the kids. From my memory of high school/being a teen (2004 to 2009 mostly), it was very much like this. A lot of back-and-forth denial of feelings and messiness trying to avoid pain, not wanting to speak your feelings due to embarrassment, and a lack of knowledge on consent or anything romantic or sexual. It all was a very realistic portrayal of my teen years, primarily because of the depression and mental illness (spoken as an undiagnosed mentally ill teen).
The realism with Asuka and Shinji and the non-linear progression/recovery felt extremely important to me. It was evident that they had a massive attraction to one another. Still, they fell into the trap I had in my youth of being unsure how to communicate my feelings without being rejected or experiencing pain. Even without romantic or sexual feelings, Shinji and Asuka live together, attend school, and work together. They are often abandoned by Misato at home alone, left to their own devices. They are two kids competing to see who can grow up faster. They have a compelling dynamic because they are so messy! In NGE, we see their ups and downs, learning about each other, fighting together and building trust, kindness, rude words, misunderstanding, poor communication, etc.
I love End of Evangelion. I don't need to see what happens after Asuka returns; I know now Yui was telling the truth that anyone can return when they are ready. Of course, it would be Asuka next after Shinji; their destinies are intertwined. She has every right to show him compassion AND to still be angry after all he did to her. The point of the ending scene is that there is love and affection in the world, but it's not forced; it's not a given; it's realistic. No one owes you anything, not love, not compassion, but when we choose to be kind, how amazing is that? Asuka and Shinji can continue to learn, grow and survive together. There is hope; they can be happy, but they must rebuild, work together, and try to find that happiness.
Rebuild of Evangelion is so Shinji-centric at times it feels like it doesn't care about anyone else's motivations or backstory. Rebuild disappointed me so much with its focus on cinematic fights over substance. Rebuild also falls into the trap of forcing a perfect happy ending, which is unrealistic and annoying. Real change is messy and takes effort, years and years of action, and instead, we find perfection in imperfection. It's okay and expected if everything doesn't go exactly as planned. Rebuild needs more focus. It's evident that there was no overarching plan for the 4 films and that they underwent rewrites and delays for years. Of course, ideas would change. It took years to finish the series. It went from "Evangelion for new fans, a retelling that doesn't require you to watch NGE" to "The action sequences are good; let's make money off of sexualized children."
A lot of the AsuShin content is added on later in canon bonus material later added to 3.0 + 1.0 to clear up misconceptions about the relationships. It's subtle, and it feels tacked on. Shinji spends so little on-screen time with any of the characters that we don't get the same interactions, world-building, or character development and the flatness of the characters bothers me so much. What are their motivations? "Well, he cooked for her, so she likes him." Okay… that seems flimsy since she spends all her time alone, and he spends all his time alone…
Shikinami might as well be 14, screaming that she is an adult now. For all the ways she has changed between 2.0 and 3.0, stewing in her anger doesn't seem very adult. The children telling us they are adults really doesn't convince me. The time skip accomplished nothing as no one reflected on 14 years passing in a realistic way. Shinji didn't grieve lost time or grapple with being an adult in a child's body. The deus ex machina at the end might have been "And then Shinji woke up, and Wonderland was gone" or "Asuka clicked her red heels and said there's no place like home."
Pixar films are popular because "Life doesn't always go according to plan, but you can still find happiness in the mess of life." The idea is that things are imperfect, and we make the most of what we have. Sometimes, what we want is different from what we need. Rebuild fails to capture this and instead falls into a trap I see in YA novels where the epilogue is much too neat. We see ourselves in the characters, and we identify with the struggle, but then the ending is too tidy. The protagonist gets a hetero-normative end with children and a picket fence and marries one of the love interests introduced early on. The protagonist becomes unrelatable to us because they fall into complacency where they have a 9 to 5 job and do nothing to better anything after the "fall of the tyrant." To quote The Who with their song Won't Get Fooled Again: "Here comes the new boss, same as the old boss." How can we, who are struggling daily for our survival and happiness, find the changing of one problem to be satisfactory in solving all issues? No more Evas, cool, but now he is under capitalism which we all know SUCKS. Sounds perfect, Shinji. Thanks for making your lives miserable in a new way. Trapped in wage labour sounds excellent.
That's why I'm not a fan of "happy" endings. I only need some of the problems solved. I want to see work to build a new world. In the Rebuild ending, I dream of Asuka and Shinji working side by side to rebuild cities, prevent new child soldiers and be active in a community that fears them. We don't need a dream of paradise. We need hope that WE can make a difference, too.

I guess this is in regards to Forward but Never Forget but maybe also Mal de Mer: Does Silco ever regret meeting Mel or does he realize she serves a purpose in his life maybe one that no one has filled before? Does he recognize how she affects him and does he appreciate it?
His feelings for Mel are, and will always be, deeply ambivalent.
Chiefly because, as we will learn in FnF, the end of their affair triggers a chain of events that must be managed, mitigated and otherwise manhandled, to get the outcome he desires - for Zaun, and for the future.
He wouldn't say she serves a purpose 'no one' has filled before - in his mind that is, and will always be Jinx, and everything she embodies as Zaun's next generation, and in his private life.
He will, however, admit that she's a challenge - an intellectual rival, a sparring partner, a kindred spirit who understands his vision. He's never had anyone like her before (re: purity of purpose rather than pedigree) and the fact that he enjoys her company and finds her intolerably attractive is just the icing on the cake. The two of them do not see eye to eye on everything, but it's a point of pride that he is, for the first time, compelled to re-evaluate his positions and beliefs, and in turn, the direction he intends to steer Zaun.
At the outset, he'd say their affair served a purpose. Down the line, as his relationship with her develops, he'd say his sentiments are an inconvenient side-effect, but that he can navigate his way around them, and make the necessary choices (spoilers: he's full of shit).  By the time he 'finalizes' the relationship in the 'Mal de Mer' AU, he rationalizes it by saying that she makes his life more interesting than he'd expected: more exciting, more unpredictable, and in many ways more dangerous.
Silco in FnF is a high-stakes roller at his core - high risk, high reward. But while he knows the odds, and can play them well, the house will always have an edge.
Mel, in all her wealth, beauty and privilege, will always have an edge.
It's not a fact he enjoys thinking about, and which he buries, for the most part, under the weight of his ambitions and the demands of the moment. But it eats away at him, as his feelings for her grow and become less easy to manage. He wants to believe that her affection is real, but there's a voice in his head that won't shut up, telling him that it's too good to be true, and that she'll never be able to commit to his plans for Zaun, or be loyal to him in the way that he needs.
After all, she's a Topsider, and a Medarda, and a woman whose purview and priorities center purely on her own city's enrichment.
.............Also, she's still in love with Jayce.
The result is that he's always either holding back, or setting traps for her, or making contingency plans. His trust for her, and his faith in her, waxes and wanes like the tides. Sometimes he feels as if she awakens a part of him that's been sleeping for so long he's forgotten what it's like to live without its presence. Other times he feels as if he's looking into a mirror, and seeing only his own hungriest, shallowest and basest impulses reflected back at him.
Mel's own traumas and trust issues complicate the equation. She always feels that she has to find her footing in a world where everything she does, says and believes is under threat, and her sense of self is in constant flux. In her mind, Silco is is a dark echo of her mother: someone whose devotion is conditional, who keeps score of every choice she makes, and who will jettison her the moment he stops seeing value in her.
The result is that they're always gaming each other, and it's an exhausting dance to a well-worn tune:
"I can't trust you. Prove that I can."
"How can I trust you when you never tell me the whole story?"
"What if I told you the whole story, and you left me anyway?"
And round and round they go.
Sex is one of the few means they can count on to cut through the noise, and bring them closer together. The physicality and vulnerability of the act tends to drop their guards. The games here, rather than tests of trust, are an actual bridge towards intimacy: he's one of the few men who can evoke an honest, unfiltered response from her, and she's one of the few women who can break open his crooked shell and evoke a peculiar tenderness in him.
It's the closest he comes to being his boyhood self.
It's the closest she comes to being her girlhood self.
Naturally, the aftermath leaves them susceptible to all the doubts and insecurities they're trying to keep at bay. They're most likely to have open and honest conversations in bed, just when they're drifting off to sleep. But they're also the most likely to have full-on screaming matches, when they wake up, because they're struggling to return to their familiar, more easily navigable roles, until the next time their desires overwhelm them.
As Silco puts it, in FnF, the price for Mel's company, and its pleasures, is 'exorbitant.'
He'd pay it a hundred times over, though. Even if he never got a single decent night's sleep again.
They're not soulmates; nor will they ever be. But there are all these threads of their pasts that keep pulling them to one another, so even when they're on opposing sides, they can't help but orbit one another, because their minds are too much alike, and their passions are too entwined, and their mutual influence has altered them both too profoundly for them to ever be indifferent towards each other.
So, to answer your question: no, he does not regret meeting her.
There is very little Silco regrets, period.
As to whether he realizes how she affects him, and does he appreciate it - in his own way, yes. It's why he keeps her close. It's also why he holds her at arm's length, and will not give her his heart, no matter how much she cajoles or demands it from him.
And when he does give it, it will come at the heels of total, absolute surrender from her.
It's a tall order.
But then, as Mel's observed, he's a very demanding man.

I watched the movie Happening and it’s been bouncing around my brain. I like when movies do that, it usually means there is something of value to them for me if I keep trying to unpack them and I go back to them. It also means I keep going back and forth in my brain if I want to make this post. For those not in the know it's a French movie based on the memoirs of Annie Ernaux. It's set in France in the 1960's when abortion was still illegal and the lead is in search of one. The movie was direct and honest in a way that gave it power. I won't spoil anything here but moments could be brutal and harsh but what most stood out to me was the dread and paranoia that seeped into anything. A person who lacks freedom can't really now who to trust and thus ends up all alone. It's awful to see but it was an excellent movie. I had a friend though who commented that he wasn't sure he needed to see another movie about abortion and I think he's dead wrong. Off the top of my head I can only make a list of a handful of movies about this, at least a handful that I truly think are very good movies but I have seen like hundreds of movies about men trying to find themselves cause they're a little sad as they reach middle age or they are man children who need a woman to help them grow up and like... look I get that people need escapism and things that they can just experience and move on. Art is wonderful at providing comfort to the downtrodden but it is also there to make the powerful uncomfortable and to illuminate the world by showing you experiences outside your own and to force you to think and I guess I think if you think you're tired of movies about abortion maybe you're not looking around. The fact that this is still a debate is the reason we need more. This is not the single greatest movie about this topic I have ever seen (for those making a really depressing list that would probably be 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days. If you want the single most powerful scene in a movie about this I think it might be Never Rarely Sometimes Always' scene from which it draws the title. Both are in my opinion fantastic but the first is certainly held in higher regard) but it is a good movie and I guess the point is that we need to continue to see and tell human stories about things that aren't always pleasant. I really like movies where superheros punch the shit out of bad guys but it can't be the only thing we consume, I believe it is our duty as people to challenge ourselves as well. I know this is tubmlr and I know what direction is skews so certainly this isn't a post about convincing anyone of anything. I have my own complicated history with abortion and I'd imagine we all do, we are products of the world we live in and whatever your life circumstances it's impossible to avoid the everything swirling around abortion. Anyway, that's not what this blog is about or what this post is about really, just the direction it went. This is about Anamaria Vartolomei who is a French-Romanian actress, a pretty solid combo if you are asking me because I have a deep love for French cinema and every Romanian I have ever met is just fantastic. Anyway, she is really quite attractive and I thought she did a great job in a tough role. She gave a nuances performance and I found it compelling and engaging. Today I want to fuck Anamaria Vartolomei.

Oh also another one for our dear Dano!Riddler because I love him too!! X male reader with optional smut ideas.
Maybe Edward is with a psychiatrist!reader in Arkham.
NSFW Ideas:
- They could become bonded and it leads to yknow kinda like harley quinn’s situation.
- Maybe Edward notices that the guards are too preoccupied to notice if he slips out one time, going into reader’s office, surprising him.
“I just couldn’t wait til’ our next session.”
Confesses his attraction and yeah sex happens lmao idk.

Edward Nasthon x Psychiatrist!Male!Reader
req: yes!
warnings: male reader, bottom reader, reader can be read as trans or cis, top Edward, possessive Edward, Edward Nashton is a bit of a creep, sweet Edward, canon typical violence, psychiatrist x patient, fluff and smut, kind of short
note: sorry this took so long! i started writing a oneshot to go with this and forgot to actually post these
cut for length!
you were a psychiatrist at Arkham, working there because the human brain has always interested you
a new patient was admitted, Edward Nashton. You were the only psychiatrist that he would talk to so you two became close very quickly.
You both had weekly meetings where you learned that Edward was sweet and smart, he enjoyed riddles and puzzles (though he solved most of them quickly)
His favorite color was green so you often wore green outfits which he complimented profusely.
None of your colleagues understood how you could effortlessly get him to open up, but didn't complain as it at least helped him get better.
You got a special green pen for Edward, he loved to write and draw while you two talked so you figured a small gift wouldn't hurt anybody.
you went to your session as normal, setting down the paper and new pen you got for Edward. The therapy session went as every session did except that you didn't get the pen back from Ed.
Edward had waited until the guards were idly distracted, one watching the tv in their office and the other out using the bathroom. Ed had taken the pen apart and used it to quietly break out of his cell.
He didn't plan on escaping though, no, he was going to visit you.
You heard a knock on your office door, you got up, and answered it only to see Edward's 6'0 figure standing over you.
Edward's hand shot over your mouth and shoved you into your office, he closed and locked the door behind you two.
Explanations of what he was doing tumbled out of his mouth before you shushed him and asked why he broke out of his cell to see you when you two had a session earlier that day.
He ended up telling you that he loved you and needed you to know it, he thought of you every day and he even told you how attractive he finds you.
You had to admit, he was attractive himself and was nice. If he wasn't a patient you would probably date him, so you told him that.
"What's stopping you from dating me now?" "I don't see a problem with you dating me," and things of those sorts came from Edward, he wanted to date you and do more with you than just sessions where you assessed if he was mentally sane.
He gave some compelling arguments and you agreed under the condition he doesn't tell anyone about it.
Edward kissed you he was so happy and he was a surprisingly good kisser, his hands were on your hips and yours were tangled in his hair.
He backed you onto your desk and one thing led to another which led to Edward fucking you while you were bent over your desk. He was gentle and knew exactly how to make you cum.
After that, you were extra careful to cover up your tracks. At least once a week, Edward said he would only talk to you if there were no cameras in the room and no one watching you two. That always either led to you getting fucked or you two cuddling in the room.
Edward also went out of his way to make your time a little easier. A patient is giving you shit? Whoops! They seem to have been killed under mysterious circumstances.
Your boss is being an asshole? He'll be sure to get at least one punch in the next time he sees the old prick.
You were just the small, helpless, adorable psychiatrist to him! Even when you two are intimate it shows.
He loves that he's taller than you, it turns him on. When he's fucking you, he likes to hold your hand or press his chest against your back and cover your form.
He loves pet names that show belonging to him (my baby, my sweet boy, stuff like that)
If you also use pet names like that I think he would instantly dedicate his life to you
You're his and he's yours, which means he does get jealous but let him bend you over your desk and slowly thrust into you until your begging for more and he'll feel ok again!
Once your boss almost catches on, Ed quickly covers up with the clever plan to fake attack you during a session. He put on the act of being pissed all day and lunged at you when you opened the door. The guard saw and reported it, meaning you two got to keep dating after all!
Once he gets his official "sanity" certificate, he is let free and you two start living together.
Eventually, you're able to quit your job at Arkham and get a new one, Ed appreciates being able to see you more.

*kicks hornets nest* hickey/crozier
[speaking through a writhing mass of aggressive wasps] ok so im not going to try and refute any fandom interpretations because down that path lies madness BUT here is my take on their dynamic
i think billy was wrong that crozier would pour anyone a drink as long as he could have one himself. i think it's very clearly established that crozier is grumpy, misanthropic, and antisocial. and more than that he openly spurns people of lower class/rank than him. i think this comes from the deep festering wound of being irish in the royal navy, and from clutching with white knuckles and bleedings palms onto what power and status he /does/ have. this is an incredible combination with how much he chafes at authority tbh!! he loathes it and he disrespects it and he doesn't want to be saddled with it. but he devotes the whole of his life to regimented authority!!! francis, your mind!!!
i also think that he /does/ care about his men, and he does have a paternal captain's instinct to protect the men under his command. and he did study the ship's roster so he does know everyone's name and birthplace.
but he doesn't want to spend time with most people and he doesn't integrate himself with or ingratiate himself to the men. not until the overland march.
all of this to say that i think he offered hickey a drink because:
1. he was about to have one anyway
2. he was a fellow irishman
3. he thought he was cute
hickey is many things, and a poor judge of himself and his own exceptionalism is definitely one of them. but i think there was an undeniable mutual attraction there. crozier found hickey charming, and that immediate fondness for him is what made him offer him a drink. otherwise he would have thanked him and dismissed him.
but i don't think crozier wanted to fuck him. i think hickey 100% thought crozier wanted to fuck him. and i think that's where hickey's misinterpretation of their relationship begins.
it's hard for me to say that i ship them tbh because for me shipping characters means i want them to have an intimacy between them and i actually think the most compelling part of hickey and crozier's dynamic is their lack of intimacy. they begin their relationship by completely misunderstanding one another, and then their understanding comes at the full price of their souls. like i think after hickey's whipping, they both SEE one another quite fully, and they both see themselves much more clearly, and it is not a good feeling.
i think hickey wants to be the iago to crozier's othello and i think crozier doesn't really think about hickey at all.
i think this is wrong of him!! i think this is an extension of his blind spot towards his own cruelty and callousness. i think the reason he doesn't see hickey is the same reason he proposes repeatedly to sophia, despite this forcing her into a socially and emotionally uncomfortable situation.
so i do not think they fucked in canon and i do not want them to fuck in my mind palace. i like their sexless psychosexual entanglement exactly as is.
so it's hard for me to say i ship them since for me shipping is like. i want these two to know each other biblically/it is clear in the text that these two have known each other biblically and i am putting together a pepe silva mail room to prove this to you.
i think that what lies between crozier and hickey is an absolutely insane trench of resentment and displacement that comes from being spurned and crushed by the imperialist machine that birthed them both. i love them both very much and i love the mangled car wreck they have between one another. i also want to slap francis right across the face. it's complicated.
send me a ship and i'll tell you my opinion of it

Chapter 2: Flight
Minors DNI
Warnings: Mutual masturbation.
Words: 2001
The next day Marc had found the airfield pretty easily it was in a really nice area. Charlotte had buzzed him in and was walking to the hangar and saw Charlotte. She was wearing tight jeans and her leather jacket. Her red hair pulled back into a bun as was getting ready for the flight. She was listening to some music and she looked over at him as he approached. A smile on her face.
“Hey glad you could make it.”
"I wouldn't have missed it for the world." Marc's eyes took in Charlotte's entire body as he walked over to her though now he didn't try to hide that fact. After all, there was a certain chemistry between the two now. A hand went in his jacket pocket, fishing out his phone and taking a picture of Charlotte as he moved toward her. "You're beautiful, you know that, right?"
“You're too much Marc.” Charlotte blushes slightly as he takes the picture. She hasn't felt her heart race like this in a long time, not since Elizabeth. She laughs slightly and finishes what she's doing in the plane. She playfully punches him with a smirk on her face trying to hide her attraction. She walks over to the stereo and turns the music off. “You ready?”
"I'm ready whenever you are." The pictures were added to his favorites immediately— they were perfect. When Charlotte playfully punched his arm, Marc had to fight himself not to grab her hand, not to pull her into him and kiss her… But he controlled that urge. For now. He gazed at her intensely , eyes filled with both desire and admiration. She was unlike anyone he had ever met before.
After an easy take off she was flying over the lake, she was an expert and this was an easy flight. She had a smile on her face as she did some fun maneuvers to show off a little bit nothing crazy. Marc took in the lake with the same enjoyment as he took in Charlotte, watching her do those maneuvers that she knew he would love. At some point they had a steady altitude over the lake and she decides it's as good a time as any to talk to him.
“So. Marc. I have something I should tell you.” She sounded sort of nervous.
"Yeah?" He liked the way she said his name. "What is it?"
“I'm not just a pilot, or a Bartender.” She sighs, unsure of how he would react. But something compelled her to tell the whole truth. “My father is one of the most powerful crime lords in the world. One of the largest organized crime families. My wife and I worked for him but when she died on that last mission I told him I didn't want to be a part of it anymore. He's got me on a ball and chain at that bar. It's a front for some shady dealings in Chicago." She tries to lay this out in a way that is easy to understand. "I want to get out. I want my freedom back. But I don't know how to even start. I don't have anyone to turn to.”
"Your father sounds like a real piece of work." That was a lot of information to process. More than Marc knew how to— but he didn't think too much about that, his eyes lingering on Charlotte as he took the information in. Charlotte seemed so... sad as she spoke, as if this all weighed on her but she handled it She had strength. And he liked that.
"What happens if you leave? Will that put you in any danger?"
“Yes, me and whoever helps me. He has agents all over the world. Including Isabella’s father. That's why I haven't seen her. My father punished me for wanting to leave by taking her out of my life and forcing me to work at the bar.” She says as she’s trying not to get emotional. She starts to turn the plane back towards the hanger. “Look if you help me you're going to put yourself in danger, more than the usual job. So I understand if you can't help me, but I get feeling that I can trust you.”
Trust. Everything about this requires trust.
"I'm in. Whatever it takes, Charlotte."
After they land Charlotte and Marc sit down in the office space attached to the hanger Charlotte closes and locks the door behind them and motions for him to sit down. She goes over to a mini fridge and pulls out two hard ciders handing one to him as they sit the armchairs close enough together that their knees touch as they talk.
“My Father prefers to keep things as old school as he can. Says the new tech and whatnot is how people get caught.”
"It sounds like he's got the old ways down, for sure. So here's what I'm thinking." He cracked the cider as he sat down, letting out a long breath as he stared Charlotte directly in the eyes. Marc leaned in, lowering the volume on his voice and his entire demeanor. "If we want to beat your dad, we've gotta make him feel like we're on his side." Charlotte looks shocked for a moment.
“You're suggesting we infiltrate the organization...”she takes a sip of her cider as she thinks. Her brow furrowed as she thinks. Chewing slightly on the corner of her mouth.  “This isn't just an escape plan… you’re suggesting we take the whole thing down. Not just get me out…” She looks him in the eye. She gives him her signature half smile. “You're something else Marc Spector...”
"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Your father doesn't know me, which is a massive advantage for us. He's never gonna expect us to betray him." He couldn't help but smile in return. It felt... good. "Hell, the way I see it, if we're able to pull this off, you'll have your freedom back and Isabella'll be safe." As if to illustrate this, his hand brushed against Charlotte's thigh gently. Charlotte nods and covers her eyes for just a moment hiding a few tears that fell from her eyes as she thought about seeing her little girl again. She exhales shakily as she looks back at Marc.
“I was in training to become his second in command when I left. I know almost everything there is to know.” She takes another swig of the cider. “This is going to take a while to take them down but it will be worth it.” Marc took her hand and held it gently. Just watching Charlotte's emotions made him happy, in a way, but her words and the plan filled him with a sense of hope he hadn't felt for a while now. Maybe even his entire life.
"I don't mind waiting for the right time. Hell, we can even have a fake relationship to make your father think that everything is normal between us." He grinned at her, putting his fingers underneath her chin to make her look at him. "And then, when we bring the whole thing down, we'll take a trip to see your baby girl together." Dear God Marc knows exactly how to get her going.
“Does the relationship have to be fake?” She asks quietly as she leans in closer using her hand on his thigh to brace herself as she comes closer. She knew this was forward but she didn't want to think about this. She knew she liked him, but after agreeing to do everything to save her and Isabella. She couldn't resist.
"No, it doesn't." He reached his hand out and laid it on Charlotte's thigh and his finger started moving closer toward the hem of her jeans, tracing along it gently.
"I'm sure our relationship won't have to be fake for very long once I get you in bed." Marc said, his tone full of confidence. Her body was reacting to his words and she looked... oh so perfect.
She chuckles slightly and closes the distance between the two of them kissing him softly. Her eyes closed as she kissed him letting him pull her into his lap as they deepened the kiss her hands traveling across his body. She was very happy to be in this position. Her legs straddle his lap as they made-out in the office. Lips clashing in a battle of passion. As if this entire day had been building up to this, the kiss felt like it was straight out of a movie, the way Charlotte fit into his arms so perfectly was surreal, like it was meant to be. As his arms wrapped around her, his hands traveled up her back and down her thigh. His fingers fumbled at the button to her jeans, but he soon got it undone, pulling her a little closer as his palm made its way into her jeans. She moans softly at the touch of his hand at her entrance. She instinctively grinds into his hand as she kisses him feverishly as she tangles her fingers in his thick dark curls.
As he felt the moan escape her lips, Marc’s eyes flashed open as he pulled back from the kiss for a moment. If this wasn't the beginning of something special, he didn't know what would be. His hands moved underneath her jeans, pushing his fingers inside of her before he pulled away again, looking into Charlotte's bright eyes before he pulled her back in, arm around her waist, kissing her again. His fingers slide out of her as he caresses her wet folds
“No, no, no keep doing that” she takes his wrist and pushes his fingers back inside of her as she moans. Moving rhythmically on his fingers her lips twitching slightly at the pleasure. She lets go of his wrist and starts to work on his jeans expertly unbuttoning them and beginning to palm the hardness in his pants. He groans as she does
He grabbed her again, making his other hand move up her body until he came to her shirt, his fingers tugging at it as he pulled her closer. He loved being in her presence it made him feel so alive. They both pleasured the other as they kissed, Charlotte pulls down his underwear and spit in her hand before rubbing her hand up and down his length as she kissed him, nibbling lightly on his lip, softly groaning occasionally as he moves his fingers inside her. His thumb rubbing circles over her clit as she moans softly into the kiss, stroking his length in her hand, pre-cum glistening at the tip. She rolls her hips slightly into his hand, the pressure of her orgasm on the edge of spilling over.
“Fuck…Marc…I’m close” She mumbles on his lips as she continues to chase her own orgasm as she slides her hand along him, her other hand still tangled in his hair.
“Me too, cum for me Baby, I’ve got you. I’ve got you” He says breathlessly as he slightly trusts into her hand. She felt the warm waves of pleasure as her climax hits her, her walls clenching around his fingers as she moans his name out. Just hearing her moan his name was enough, ropes of white spurt out of his tip as he makes a mess of them. They lean their foreheads against each other as they catch their breath.
Charlotte was perfect. Marc thought at he gazed into her eyes, the afterglow flushes her cheeks. It was that simple. She made him feel alive. She made him desire her in a way he didn't think possible. And for the first time in his life, Marc felt free... free from the past that haunted him, free from the burden that had been placed on him. Free from the pain of losing his brother. And Charlotte, in all of her beauty and personality, was the reason.

🏎️💨 THE FORMULA 1 TAG GAME! 🏎️💨:
tagged by @solaireverie thank u bestie 🫶🐈
1. Who or what got you into F1?
so in 2018 my brother got an xbox and in 2022 f122 (?) was added to the game pass, he developed motorsport brainrot and would not stop blabbing to me about it 😽 then he mansplained the SG grand prix to me, i surprisingly found it interesting, and here i am
i think also i saw Seb trending on here in late 2022 and that made me more ‘aware’ of f1, in the sense that Seb was one of the few drivers i did know before, so there was some weird attachment there. there was a period of time where i stopped tuning in to the SG races (busy + covid) so that got me paying attention again
2. Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?
Ohhhh Charles Leclerc 🎊🎶 pretty much the same, i find the narrative around his career very compelling, i like his driving and he’s a cool guy
someone once asked me “did you just choose the first guy you saw on the TV” and honestly, if i think about it. Yeah. he was the first driver i saw when we switched on the race broadcast.
3. Who’s your current favourite F1 driver?
Charles! if Seb makes a return then it’ll be him, but i’m assuming this means current drivers only.
4. Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?
my roman empire Sebchal…
Charles was the driver i liked and Seb was the driver i knew from my childhood so i was curious about the connection. i’m a big fan of the maturity with which they handled their off-track relationship; tbh my opinions of them as teammates purely-racing wise are mixed, but they’re also my two all-time favourites so my fondness gets amplified when they’re together
5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite driver?
Well. my brother is a Lewis fan, my uncle is also a Lewis fan. from 2025 we’ll be an all Ferrari family 😮‍💨
my uncle has Lewis and Valterri’s driver cards and art prints of Coulthard and Barichello’s helmets in his house haha
6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?
Hockenheim 2019 and Hungaroring 2015!
i think Turkey 2010 also stands out in my memory thanks to arguably one of the funniest crashes in Seb’s career and the subsequent w2w between Jenson and Lewis.
7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar
Sepang, the incline is cool i hope they bring it back
8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like.
no money 😚😚 i could attend the SG GP but i heard you can’t see much, and tbh, the sg races are kind of snoozefests…
9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?
nope! the idea of it scares me honestly. i may cry if I see seb in the flesh
10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?
rb6 my speedy but unreliable queen
11. Do you have a favourite one win wonder?
i probably haven’t been watching long enough to have one
12. Do you have any favourite quotes from the F1 world? This can either be inspirational or hilarious.
i’m kind of obsessed with everything seb has ever said, particularly these:
“you, asking what happened at the start? // you came in like a torpedo” (rip kyvat)
“we have to remember these days. because there is no guarantee that they will last forever.” ♥️
also quite fond of Charles’ “it’s like this”, but hope we hear it less in 2024 🤞
tagging @verstappenclerc @baiuzennsenn @leqclerc @norrisgp @monacodarling if yall haven’t done it already!! (if u have, sorry 🫡) ++ anyone who wants to

how often does ahri actively use her magic to charm people ? how do you think it differs ( or is similar ) to evelynn's ability to charm people ?
» — ⌜ALWAYS ACCEPTING QUESTIONS ABOUT AHRI⌟ ,
— @windchaser
Tumblr media
hi mars ily
so let's get to the questions in parts
how often does ahri actively use her magic to charm people ?
ahri can be very charming without using her magic — she learned certain mannerisms or the way you talk can get you far without needing magic. as a result, magic is her go-to only when that doesn't work; but that doesn't mean ahri holds back much from using her magical charm.
she'll use it whenever she is in danger (or someone else she cares about is!), as she does in a fair trade. if she's trapped or cornered in any way, it's her easiest way out and she has no qualms about using it. but it doesn't take something as extreme to lead her to charm someone, far from it. in perennial, she uses her charm to convince people it would be okay for her to bring a bodyguard to the inn should she hire one, after they tell her they don't want anyone dangerous there (:peepostare: at them telling ahri that but anyway). in the ruined king game, she uses it to convince the innkeeper to accept their money after he refuses it — but also to get yasuo a drink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
by which i mean to say: could this problem be solved some other way? probably. but it'd be inconvenient, so she chose the most convenient route and simply used her charm. same for perennial. but the added request for a drink for yasuo also suggests to me there's no moral dilemma involving the use of her charm at all, because she's not above asking for something trivial. which, to me, indicates she'd use her charm very liberally, whenever she wants or needs something and that's the easiest way to get it (even if other solutions might not be that complex!).
she has no qualms about using her magic like she does with consuming someone's spirit essence. i guess because she doesn't see it as harmful (she's not using it to hurt anyone unless they're trying to hurt her), even if it is coercing someone magically to do her bidding. because she thinks her requests are reasonable or it's self-defense, she doesn't see the harm in it. and as a result, i think she uses her charm fairly often. not all the time because most of the time she's able to charm people without magic, but if charisma isn't enough, she won't hesitate to use magic.
how do you think it differs ( or is similar ) to evelynn's ability to charm people ?
i believe their charms are alike in that, due to being magical in nature, everyone can be affected by it — romantic or sexual attraction is irrelevant to it. but while eve's charm seems more... focused on making people attracted to her (or at least it's more often used in that sense?), ahri's seems to be a more general influence. very... siren song, in a way, that isn't just about making people attracted to her, it's more about making people want to do her bidding, regardless of what she's asking for. but i could be wrong about eve's charm, i admittedly don't know much about it and how it works, if we have this information at all.
but yeah i think ahri's charm is not necessarily tied to making people attracted to her, it's about compelling people to do what she wants because they're left in this trance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in both excerpts, the description of the charmed people isn't in any way that they're in awe of her or drawn to her in any way. they're motionless, almost stunned — the focus is their will is not their own, and they're pliable under her hands for her to get whatever she wants to ask for. so i figure it might differ from eve's in that. because while she can use it to make someone act as if attracted to her, i don't think her charm inherently makes that happen.

Oh, and to update my recently watched anime
favorite gay anime:
link click seasons 1 and 2 (ongoing, up to episode 9)
ayaka (ongoing, up to episode 10)
bungo stray dogs season 5 (ongoing, up to episode 8)
mononogatari seasons 1 and 2 (ongoing)
non-gay anime (shorter summaries):
my happy marriage - kind of has poly fodder but not of the best quality. I like the animation. Not a lot to say honestly
dark gathering - super scary, but very hopeful and slice of life simultaneously?? it's hard to describe. The little girl takes the role of boy prodigy and the main protagonist (the guy) needs to be rescued by her constantly because he attracts ghosts. A very interesting inversion of a standard anime trope.
comments for the rest under the cut!
link click
oh my god I don't know why I didn't watch this sooner. It's really good, the animation is gorgeous, and the time travel mechanics are possibly the most interesting ones I've ever seen in fiction ever. There are thought out limitations to the supernatural abilities like in bsd but in a subtle way- there's no government body explaining it, they're just making it up as they go along. The relationship between the two protagonists is also really interesting, it's definitely going to be on my rewatch list because of it.
ayaka
Surprisingly this has been one of my favorites- it hit a lot of tropes I'm not familiar with and definitely want to explore more in the future because they're giving me a lot of emotions. The tl;dr on the plot is a guy (J-something, green hair) who's willing to give his life away to protect his home islands, and him making re-establishing his friendship with the person he's going to be dying for (the water dragon) while the other guy has no idea that's what's happening. It's at the point in the season where I genuinely have no idea if green hair is going to live or die- the reveal was super gradual, going from the pov of the protagonist and transferring over to him and showing he's been dealing with all of this without telling anyone.
It also killed another character off the same way (dad, saved the island the first time) so I'm not sure if the power of friendship is going to save him, which is terrible. He even fits one of my favorite tropes of "guy who seems like he's slacking off is actually better than everyone else at his job" type of thing (aka kakashi). If he doesn't live I'm going to be sad about it on tumblr probably, and if he doesn't I'll be overjoyed and reblog spamming gifs so you'll all find out what happens lmao
bsd seasons 5
I mean I'm not sure I can say anything new about bsd because it's a gay staple of anime, except that maybe I liked this season a lot better than the last one because it incorporated a lot more characters I liked. The cliffhanger was kinda meh last season also. But this season has been really solid on the follow through, and it hasn't been full of really tedious flashbacks that detract from the usual interesting multilayer ongoing plotlines.
It also has dazai, and honestly he's the main reason I love the series- I don't really like some of the developments where his relationships with other characters go down darker paths though, or get simplified down or the subtext removed to make space for plot. The reveal that the several seasons of homoerotic subtext was because a character (angsty black tendrils guy) didn't have long to live is an example of that, the lack of a good explanation was why it was so compelling, so a so-so explanation is really disappointing. But! I guess it's fine because he keeps just building more relationships like that :') I really liked their trio though (dazai, tiger guy, and angsty guy), this scene lives in my head rent free
Tumblr media
I feel like in the first couple seasons they had more to fight about, and now that some miscommunication has been resolved it feels like the emotional development between the characters hasn't carried over to the actions of the plot. Which is a huge bummer. A big draw of the series for me is the nuance of relationships between characters, and lately it's been greatly reduced in the ones I got attached to and lots of that energy has been dumped into characters I'm kind of lukewarm on. (Though even those relationships have been skimped on- there were like 0 longing or intense looks at all. Everyone instantly gets gayer around dazai but he's kind of ridiculously stiff ever since THIS scene
Tumblr media
And yeah sure I'll never seriously ship him with anyone else, there's no coming back from that, but seriously if he's going to be like that I wish there were more flashbacks to this relationship so I could at least get more ship material to angst about before bed.)
mononogatari
This was rough getting into, but once I got past episode two there was a lot of great poly ship potential so it was totally worth it. It's a sweet slice of life style supernatural series, which is a nice change of pace. There's action but it's very emotional and in a more multilevel way than a lot of common anime where there is one main hero being supported by friends/community. There really isn't a main hero so the direction of support hits a lot of different directions, so the scenes where people talk about the support of others hit different, which I feel like is a big part of the poly appeal to me. Sword guy + botan + main protag is my main ship, but there are lots of other combos that work well.

hiiii hope u get to relax this weekend bud! so about that hot modern au diluc..... tell me why you hc him as aroace and did he have any past relationships before he figured it out? love knowing ppls sexuality hcs! please draw more modern diluc in classy sweaters and cute cardigans too btw... i want to show him off at pedigree show
I started a draft of this response on Friday and wrote a whole dang essay, so I am going to go back and make it less chaotic and a little more clear and concise jhskjdfh But thank you for sending in this ask ;u; I was happily playing with kitties and stuffing my face with good food all weekend, so it was a very nice break!
As for Modern AU Diluc, I've always liked the HC that he's asexual or demisexual. I don't see him as someone with much sexual attraction because I see a lot of aspects of his personality that me and many of the other asexual people I have known throughout my life all have shared. The aromantic headcanon is actually just for this specific AU! I have a 2nd modern AU where he is still asexual, but homoromantic! That AU is deep in my google docs and hasn't seen the light of day on social media yet, though. So it's very top secret shush shush lol
As for my thoughts for this specific AU, I thought he suited the aroace headcanon the most. I thought it made him a more compelling character within the story and modern setting and even made some of his relationships more complex to write and plan out. And I like a complex challenge when it means I get to pick apart a character's brain, even if I'm the one who technically gave them the brain since it's an AU....dissecting my own creation, if you will.
Since you asked more about his backstory, I'll leave some more info under the cut so I'm not clogging up people's dash **♡( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )
Tumblr media
*Quick list of warnings for this AU before you proceed:
Crepus is dead in this AU, so there is technically past character death that is referenced often in regards to Diluc
Crepus died in a car accident and this is mentioned at least once or twice
There is past Diluven! They are not dating during the part of the story I've got the characters set in as of right now, but it is mentioned and integral information to a lot of the character's connections and backstories.
There are little hints that Diluc picked up bad habits after his fathers death and that he did not treat himself kindly. This behavior is comparable to self harm, so if that bothers you in the slightest, please proceed with caution. It is only vaguely referenced and never stated or explained outright. Man was lacking that self preservation mindset in-game when he ran off to avenge his father, so he also lacks it here, just in a different form
Kaeya and Diluc are portrayed as adopted brothers in this AU
Tumblr media
Before I get into his back story, I'll give you his basic profile so you've got a little background info for him:
Character Profile:
Age: 29 Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him Sexuality: Aromantic, Asexual Education: Bachelors of Science Business Management Occupation: Bar Owner, Bartender, Community Garden Volunteer (President) Relationship Status: Single Extra Info: Diagnosed with PTSD and Major Depression, Kaeya's adopted brother (estranged), has a full back piece tattoo done by Xiao.
You get some of that info from This art I posted before, but I actually made some small changes to the AU since I drew that! Sorry for any discrepancies. You should see the chaos that is my spreadsheet of character info for this AU alone. It nearly crashed my phone once just by opening it.
Tumblr media
I'll start with the summary/TL;DR and expand a bit further on some parts just because I can!
TL;DR of how he found out he was AroAce:
Diluc dated Venti for convenience in high school, but never felt an attraction to him or anyone else.He only dated Venti to alleviate the pressure Jean felt from the rumors that she and DIluc were dating when they only saw each other as very close friends.  He figured he'd eventually develop feelings for either Venti or someone else, but never did. He went through Trauma™ and officially left the main city in Mondstadt to find himself after the death of his father. He later found a trustworthy therapist who introduced him to the possibility of being AroAce.
Expanded Explanation:
In high school, Diluc watched many of his friends develop crushes and date and chase after love interests. He never really understood it. When people would ask him if he had feelings for anyone, he never had an answer. He didn't feel the need to date or flirt. The idea of being romantic with anyone quite frankly felt strange and foreign to him. He cared for his friends deeply and developed strong bonds, but he never considered any of them to be romantic in nature. Many people mistook his friendship with Jean as romantic due to how close they were.
The rumors put pressure on them both to become an item even if they didn’t have romantic feelings for each other. To relieve some of that pressure, Diluc did his best to try to find someone he felt comfortable returning affection, albeit insincere, to. So many people approached him with such sincerity, it felt wrong. So, when a short, bubbly upperclassman approached him with an offhanded flirt, he flirted back. It was a shaky attempt, but he could tell the star of the theater music department wouldn’t take things too seriously and there was nothing to lose. So, he got closer to Venti and asked him out. He wasn’t expecting they’d become the sweethearts of the school, nor that they’d be voted prom kings and cutest couple in the school year book. What was meant to be an unserious relationship to relieve pressure on himself and his dear friend, became a tiresome obligation.
Venti was two years older, and graduated the year after they started dating. Unfortunately, Diluc was still stuck pretending. His last year put more strain on him than he’d like to admit and it became so evident, even Jean began to worry. Before she could ask if he was alright and offer help, tragedy struck.
While driving he and his father to a promotional event for the family business, an SUV lost control on the highway and sent DIluc and his father’s car flying off the road and into the forest at the bottom of the incline beside it. Crepus suffered a severe injury and died before the ambulance or Kaeya arrived. Diluc blamed himself and the SUV that had driven off after the impact.
Tha took a toll on his mental state. The strain of pretending to be like everyone else proved too much on top of the new issues that instantly popped up after the death of his father. As the eldest son, just freshly 18, he was given the reins to the family business. He had to pick up the work in his father’s absence until things could be settled. He also had his finals and college applications to worry about. Venti’s pestering and unwanted advances tested Diluc’s limits and eventually sent him over the edge.
He broke up with Venti at a school dance he had to attend as president of the student council the day before his father’s funeral. Kaeya told him something (I won’t cover in this post) that shattered his hope for the future. In a blind rage he won’t be able to fully remember years later, he kicked Kaeya out and was left alone in a big empty house, save for the handful of staff that still cared for the house.  After that, he simply stopped going to class. He did everything in his power to track down the man that killed his father, that the police still had yet to catch.
Within the time he spent obsessively searching for the man, Adelinde and Elzer were doing their best to talk him down and gently guide him towards getting his GED and attending a nearby college in the hopes of helping him back into a stable routine to get his mind off the grief he clearly was not processing in a healthy manner.
At some point, Diluc relented and did as they had asked. His rage simmered out and was replaced with numbness. He would not remember the years of rage or the time spent getting his degree due to his own specific response to the trauma he endured. He took on the family business for a year before he realized it was best to leave it to the people that knew more than he did and the people he knew his father had trusted to keep things running. He stepped down from the company and gave the position to Elzer. Though sad to see him go, the Dawn Winery staff were happy to see him leave to find himself and hopefully work through the grief he’d felt for all these years. He left Mondstadt proper to live in a smaller college town. It was where Jean had gone to pursue her degree and now her Masters. Once there, he opened up a small bar that quickly grew in popularity. He had direct contact with the most well known winery in Mond, so of course he had the highest quality alcohol.
As popularity grew, he was able to hire more staff, leaving him with more and more free time. In the mental state he was in, that free time wasn’t a good thing. Bad habits formed back in college and he still was not coping in healthy ways. As his free time increased, his mental state got worse. He thought getting out and finding something to do would help, so he joined as a volunteer at the community gardens. It was something he could do to distract himself and speak with others in a relatively stress free environment. There he met Zhongli, the person who tended to the beehives in the garden. Zhongli was kind, patient and understanding and very quickly became someone Diluc could call a friend. It helped a lot, the gardens and the new faces, until winter came and there wasn’t much to do when it was too cold for most plants to grow.
It reached a point where Jean was checking in on him frequently. She could tell things were bad. Feeling guilty for worrying his dearest friend so much, he finally reached out for help. With Zhongli and Jean’s assistance, he found a trustworthy therapist who helped guide him towards a healthier path and helped him through his emotions and thoughts. She introduced him to the concept of both Aromantic and Asexual identities. Having that support and direction helped improve his mental state and kept him from dropping back into the worst of his lows. Knowing he wasn’t broken in some way for not searching for romance or intimacy helped quite a bit. It wasn’t so much the label as it was knowing there were other people like him.
He also met Rosaria, who became a regular at his bar. The two later found out they were both Aromantic and bonded quite a bit over the fact. He came to rely on her as a more quiet and subtle source of support and understanding. Zhongli also became much closer to him and revealed they were genderfluid. The concept was somewhat foreign to Diluc, but it opened up his eyes to how diverse humans were in both their identities and presence. Zhongli then introduced him to Xiao, a young man they had taken in after he was in a terrible accident at a young age. Xiao dealt with chronic pain and the heavy guilt of being the only survivor of that accident that killed his closest friends. He and Diluc got along well. Further down the road, Diluc asked Xiao to do his back tattoo, trusting him with a design that symbolized his journey towards healing. Xiao, though he wouldn't admit it outright, was honored to have the bar owner's respect and freedom to design and complete the tattoo.
Now, Diluc is surrounded by and even more diverse community that helps him through the healing and self discovery process.
Tumblr media
Thank you for asking me about him and this AU in general :> I have a bunch of google docs with more of his and the other character's stories, but I'll save them for another time, since that wasn't exactly what you asked for ahahaha whoops. Can't wait to draw more of him soon!
Hope you're having a lovely day!

Hi.....Do you mind if I ask you some random thing? I used to love shounen and shoujo manga equally....But ever since I found BL manga 3 years ago, my interest in shoujosei (especially het romance) decrese a lot, and what I search for is just the dynamic between mc (male) and male lead...I don't want to read mc (female) and male lead or mc (male) and female lead...And what I want to read mostly are just mlm or wlw stories....
What do you think is happening to me? Is it really weird?
Hi there, anon!
I don't mind at all ^^. And let me tell you, this is exactly what happened to me back when I was a wee 15-16 yo or so, many moons ago XD. But then I found out about BL, I started to come to terms with my own queerness, and I never looked back lol.
It's not weird in the slightest, my good fellah, bc for starters, our tastes are not fixed and are constantly changing and evolving, so something we used to like may not be our cup of tea in the future and viceversa. It happens with everything: clothes, music, food, etc.
In the case media, one reason I found is that hetero romances are many, many times just a forced thing that shows/books/whatever add just bc they have to or something. I mean, he was a boy and she was a girl and that's it; no chemistry, no development, no proper bonding... and then they complain that ppl ship the protagonists with their same sex buddies when those two have a much more deep and compelling relationship than the by-the-numbers "romance" with the other lead.
I personally have more of an aesthetic preference for men, so there's also the matter that well, two hot fictional guys getting at it is something I just find more attractive xD. I can totally see that playing for ppl who are more into girls too. Especially given how still in this day and age 90% of most media is straight, so if we get the hetero every freaking time even without asking for it, it's only natural that we would go out of our way to find mlm and wlw. We literally HAVE to bc mainstream is just starting to catch up with the program.
I definitely don't want to assume anything about your situation, anon, but I think it's still worth remarking once more that it is not weird at all, and I fear you may have thought so at some point bc of the current unhinged wave of puritanism and gatekeeping that infuse with the fear of god anyone who is not enjoying something "The Right Way", or doesn't have the proper credentials to like this or that. You don't owe anyone a saying in what you innocently do in your free time or the type of fictional not-real media you consume, much less some rando on the internet, anon.
Go be free and enjoy whatever you feel it's right for you, or just what tickles your fancy; media is for fun and recreation, and I'd say that you should go and have all the fun with this new interests you are developing.
You're cool buddy :D

The Bittles rule the Summer Court and the Zimmermanns rule winter. Jack and Bitty grew up knowing each other distantly, meeting at royal functions. Jack is a warrior of peerless skill and Bitty is the most talented sorcerer of his generation.
When the seals holding the faerie realms out of phase with the mortal realm begin to weaken, they’re both part of the task force sent to scout out the problem. Something happens (betrayal? Ritual mishap?) and Jack and Bitty end up stranded on modern day Earth. Can they survive, considering they’re operating on 300 year old assumptions about what human society is like? Will they make it back to faerie? What is causing the seals to weaken in the first place? Also, what will come of their growing mutual attraction?
I posted this idea for an AU more than three years ago and an outline for how I would do this has revealed itself to me. I don't know that anyone is interested in reading lengthy and detailed description of a fic, but I was compelled to write it.
Chapter 1(Bitty POV): Jack and Bitty are walking through the forest, arguing. They're part of a group investigating why the seals on the pathways to the mortal realm are weakening, and Bitty has had a bit of late night inspiration and wants to check something at the nearby gate. He's frustrated that Jack insisted on accompanying him; Bitty is one of the best sorcerers of their generation - he can handle himself. Jack points out that if he encounters someone wielding cold iron, which counters magic, Bitty would be in serious trouble. Jack is one of the best with a cold iron blade and says plainly that Bitty wouldn't stand a chance against him. Bitty takes this as a dig against him; he's right but it's also unfair, almost no one is as good as Jack. They arrive at the gateway and Bitty begins interfacing with the wards.
His flash of insight was correct, and he's found a way to tell who has been damaging the wards. He's just about figured it out when those people arrive to cause trouble. Jack and Bitty are part of the delegations sent from the Winter and Spring courts, respectively, and it seems our villains are from the warlike Court of Summer. Cue monologue about how they're going to make Faerie great again and take whatever they want from the mortal realm. Jack and Bitty are outmatched, so Bitty's only option is to crack open the gates and retreat to Earth. Some of the Summer fey fall through with them and look like they're going to land nearby.
Chapter 2(Jack POV): The portal spits them out and Bitty collapses to the ground unconscious. Jack is a little in awe that Bitty was able to slip them through barrier, even weakened as it was. He takes stock of his surroundings; he appears to be in a poorly maintained garden fenced in behind a dwelling of some kind.
There are also two people here; it's Shitty and Lardo and they were sharing a joint when two guys materialized out of thin air. One of them has a sword and is blue and the other has horns and goat legs. They're freaking out a little bit. They're looking a little strange themselves, Shitty is dressed as a zombie and Lardo is dressed in a button down, a tie and glasses. Jack puts his sword away so he can do magic and they can communicate. Introductions are made and Jack is impressed when they don't give their real names, but then they offer to help Jack and Bitty without bargaining so maybe humans have forgotten how to deal with the fae.
They go into the Haus and settle Bitty on the couch. Lardo busts out the first aid kit to tend to Jack's wounds and Jack insists that he stay in the room with Bitty. They talk about the situation, Jack tells Shitty and Lardo that there are bad fey out there that are going to be looking for him that he needs to stop. It's Halloween, so Jack and Bitty could pass as being in costume if they need to. Jack asks about their costumes and Lardo says she's dressed as a reporter. Jack comments that in Faerie donning a costume is not something that is done lightly; the rulers of the seasonal courts don such to assume the mantle and powers of their station.
Chapter 3(Bitty POV): This is a good point for an ambiguous dream/memory that gives some context to Jack and Bitty's somewhat strained relationship; Bitty is in some kind of trouble and it ends with Jack standing over him, unclear if he's here to save Bitty or judge him for his weakness. Bitty comes to with a nasty magical hangover from overexerting himself. He instinctively searches for Jack, and relaxes when he sees him seated on the floor within arm’s reach. There are also two humans here and one of them is standing near some kind of image viewing device and gesturing wildly/whispering vehemently in a language he doesn’t quite understand.(Shitty has decided to show Jack hockey while they wait for Bitty to wake up, Jack looks surprisingly interested and Bitty has a moment to appreciate how different Jack is when he’s less guarded) Bitty tries to do the spell that will let him understand the language and realizes that he’s completely tapped out of magic.
Jack notices Bitty is awake and we get some totally platonic mutual fussing over each other. Jack makes a GRIM face when Bitty mentions that he’s tapped out, and Bitty jumps to the conclusion that Jack is judging him negatively for the risky maneuver he took; Jack is sort of confused and readily admits without Bitty’s quick thinking and incredible skill they’d both be captured or dead, he was just banking on Bitty's talents in the eventual confrontation. Bitty begins to wonder if he’s misjudged how Jack sees him. Work a gag about how Bitty is grossed out by the couch in here and move to the kitchen.
Bitty has always been fascinated by human culture and considered himself pretty knowledgeable but things have changed way more since Faerie was sealed off than he expected. Jack lays out the situation as Bitty explores the various devices in the kitchen curiously. It doesn’t look good, but they’ve got a chance to power Bitty back up; the fey draw power from strong emotions, and as a member of the Court of Spring Bitty gets the most out of desire, delight and pleasure. He typically harvests glamour from people enjoying the delicious food he makes, but many of his cousins opt for more, uh, visceral pursuits to fuel their magic. There's a kegster planned for that night so Bitty should be able to recharge pretty well during that.
Chapter 4 (Jack POV): Jack is standing at the edge of the party “watching for threats” but that mostly just means watching Bitty dance. He’s dancing with Holster right now, and between their weirdly aggressive interactions earlier (Holster didn't believe Shitty when he said Jack was a friend from Canada) and the fact that he’s got his hands all over Bitty, Jack is Not Pleased. However, this is because Bitty is a Prince and Holster should be showing more respect and not at all because Jack wishes he was the one dancing with Bitty. King of zero self awareness.
Shitty comes up, less drunk than he’d like since all the peril, and suggests that Jack should ask Bitty to dance - Jack says that he doesn’t think Bitty would want that. Shitty convinces Jack to come to the reading room “since it has good sight lines” but its really to get him alone for a conversation about what the deal is between Jack and Bitty. He manages to get an explanation out of Jack; they were amicable if not friendly in youth, but things soured around when they both came of age; Jack was very arrogant/dismissive and said some things that hurt Bitty. Jack regrets it now (and not just because Bitty has come into his own so tremendously) but Bitty hasn’t ever given any indication that he’s willing to entertain an apology.
Their political lives have sort of calcified around this dynamic, with Bitty ending up in circles that clash with the Winter Court. Jack says some dubious BS about how Faerie is a land of stories; Spring fighting its way out of Winter in defiance is one of the oldest stories and the chance to write a different one between him and Bitty is long past. Shitty gives him a metaphorical slap on the back of his head and is like “Maybe that’s true in Faerie (doubt) but you’re on Earth now dude, if you want to change now’s your chance.” He also says that he thinks Bitty is more interested in an apology than Jack thinks. Shitty points out that Jack's said a lot about how he thinks Bitty feels about him; what does Jack feel about Bitty?
Chapter 5 (Bitty POV): Bitty is a little buzzed on both alcohol and the raw magic produced by all these horny college students. If the summer court were to attack him here where he's got a nearly bottomless well of power to draw on, he'd crush them - cold iron or no. He's noticed Jack is missing and has gone looking for him. Bitty reflects on their relationship - Jack lurking on the edges of a party watching is a familiar sight, even his attention being focused on Bitty and the people he was with isn't unusual; he'd always bought into the narrative his "friends" spun about Jack's actions and intentions because in many ways it was easier to think that whatever was between them is long past - easier than the work it would take to build their relationship again, and much easier than any political fallout he'd face.
Being assigned together on the team investigating the gateways meant spending a lot of time together away from the courts and their games of face and status; it's been eye opening, and he's starting to think that much of what he's been told and assumed about Jack - and his feelings towards Bitty - is not true. Lardo tells Bitty that she thinks Jack and Shitty are up on the roof and Bitty heads upstairs - he approaches and can overhear them talking; Jack is talking about how he feels about Bitty. It's That Good Shit, Jack admires Bitty and the things he mentions show that he really sees Bitty in a way not many people do.
Bitty reveals himself before too much is revealed and heads out on the roof, telling Shitty that Lardo was looking for him. Jack is as tense as Bitty has ever seen him, clearly suspecting that he was overheard and unsure what Bitty will make of it. Bitty starts talking about what happened between them when they were younger, how he felt about it, why he was never the one to reach a hand out in reconciliation. How that rejection pushed him into the circle of those who were delighted to make use of someone who used to be close to Jack/Winter. The fallout from these events, partially aided by Bitty's contributions, was a significant win for Summer over Winter and Bitty has felt guilty himself for the part he played in it. (Maybe Jack was denied some position or posting?) He apologizes for this, and admits he overheard Jack talking about how he feels about Bitty and returns the favor, talking about what he admires about Jack. Jack apologizes for his behavior before and reiterates that he'd like things to be different between them, and Bitty agrees.
Jack worries about the political implications - they're princes, after all, its not always that simple. Bitty points out that Summer is trying to kill them and has violated serious laws by trying to reopen the path to the mortal world; there is going to be a reckoning either way, and having an ally not touched by this treason would be good for Spring. At this point they're interrupted by some LAX bros who are dressed in costumes like police, soliders, gladiators, etc.
Bitty can sense that they're being influenced with magic, and that they've been enchanted to embody their costumes in order to make them more capable warriors. Their plastic weapons are similarly enchanted to be actually dangerous. They issue a challenge from the Summer court - come and face them or they're going to start attacking people with their soldier/hostages. Bitty tries to break the enchantment on them, but it seems it was laid with their true names so he can't undo it so easily even with all this power at his fingertips. Shitty comes out, having heard that his rivals are starting shit (not understanding the whole situation) and starts laying into them. Touched by the wrath of Summer, the LAX bros move to attack and Jack is suddenly -there- deflecting all of their blows.
Clearly outmatched despite Jack not trying to hurt them, they retreat, issuing the challenge again. Everyone discusses the situation; it's clearly a trick to get Bitty away from the party and all that magic, but they don't have much of a choice. The enemy has two sorcerers and three warriors, one of which has a cold iron blade. Individually Bitty and Jack are more than a match for any of them - they've just got the numbers and these hostages. If there was a way to take out the sorcerers and free the hostages at the very start they'd have a good chance at winning, but if Jack and Bitty aren't together and visible they'll know something is up and start chaos. Lardo asks if Bitty can do the spell that turned the LAX bros into actual warriors and when he says yes, she says she has an idea. She starts taking off her shirt - revealing something red and blue underneath.
Chapter 6 (Jack PoV) - They go and meet the Summer court, who make a big speech about how the riches of the mortal world are greater than they could have imagined and that humans have forgotten everything they knew about dealing with fey and are helpless against them. Jack privately thinks that they're underestimating the danger that the human world poses to Faerie - he's talked with Shitty about what human wars are like.
Theres a fight! Do a cool reveal of Lardo dressed as Superman - Bitty could put more oomph in her enchantment than the Summer sorcerer, and while she's not Supes at full power she can still locate the sorcerer holding the control of the LAX bros (x-ray vision) and take him out right out the gate. The Samwell String Orchestra is audible playing in the distance. They win, but not without effort - part way through Lardo gets clipped by cold iron and while she isn't harmed, she gets way powered down. The Summer fey who die discorporate into sparks and embers, and they cart the survivors back to the Haus. Have some funny bits where the rest of SMH find out some of what's going on (Holster: "I knew he wasn't from Canada!")
There is a goodbye scene and Jack is surprised how much he's going to miss Shitty and Lardo. Shitty asks if Jack got the chance to make up with Bitty he was hoping for and he looks fondly over where Bitty is messing with the gate and says yes. Shitty asks if there is a chance that the pathways could end up open in the future; Jack isn't sure, there is much they could learn from each other but the potential for disaster is great. Bitty gets the gate open and they walk through.
Epilogue (Shitty PoV) - Shitty and Lardo are once again smoking weed in the back yard, talking about Halloween costumes this year. Shitty calls it his last Samwell Halloween and Lardo is mellowed by the prospect. There is a familiar flashing of magic in the backyard and a piece of paper slips through the gate. They pick it up and it's an invitation to Jack and Bitty's wedding. In Faerie.
