DMC Questions Anon here!
What sort of music would be on each character's (that you want to talk about) Spotify Wrapped?
Run free my headcanons and fresh new musings!
Nero would have a crap-ton of random music on his, from Kyrie and the kids using his account around the house. He's given up on his recommended artists at this point but loves seeing Wrapped so he can speedrun whatever the heck happened to his account throughout the year. He and Kyrie sit with a coffee and have a good chuckle when Wrapped eventually drops. I headcanon Nero with late 90s/early noughties vibes - still fresh since Fortuna is a little behind the times! Pop rock, metal, emo, indie - maybe some fun pop punk from the mainland now Fortuna has opened up a little! Some Bowling for Soup, Papa Roach, Korn, Muse. The only headcanon I won't compromise on? The guy loves Linkin Park (and therefore has excellent taste).
Vergil would adapt to modern internet speeds pretty quickly and would really enjoy listening to random violin covers of pop/rock songs on youtube etc (thank you, V's taunt). Maybe in comparison he keeps his Spotify playlists immaculately organised by genre. YouTube is for browsing, Spotify is his library, so no big surprises for him in his end of year summary. I reckon that like Dante, he likes rock and metal, being a child of the 80s. He likes lyrics with deeper meanings or that tell a story (Nightwish! Kate Bush! Harvey Danger! Alice in Chains!) but he's known for his speed, so he likes fast stuff too (think Pendulum - he finds it relaxing), as well as some classical compositions he remembers Sparda listening to in childhood for when he wants to privately remember how things used to be. This year on spotify he did however discover the "darkcore" genre and made a little playlist (I:Scintilla and HEALTH make his top songs list because when this guy obsesses over something he really does). He and Nero bond over mutual love of the Arctic Monkeys. Nero is pretty surprised to see some drill in there though - Vergil has lived an interesting life, so he might be more open minded than you think.
Dante, Dante, Dante. If the man has a spotify account, it just has one playlist that is 1000 hours long full of all the random music he likes. He's a versatile guy - pop, modern and classic rock, country, hair metal, jazz - anything that tickles his fancy. Has a soft spot for John Farnham because Eva loved him and it reminds him of her, so he definitely makes an appearance. Playlist will go something like this "Scorpians -> Madonna -> Kiss -> NSync -> Buckcherry -> Mud -> Billie Piper -> Metallica -> Portishead -> ibiza2009_j.s.InDaHouse remix". Somehow the combination works, but Wrapped can't handle it and self-destructs, so Dante goes back to the jukebox to listen to his mermaid rock 💔
Great ask as always @dmc-questions-anon !

5 Songs Tag - QL Shows Edition
tagged by @pose4photoml @morkofday and @leonpob. Thank you so much for the tag! 🧡 I love tag games and music, so this is perfect 😊
When you get this, list 5 songs from the Asian QL media that you actually listen to.
🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series. 🎶Non-western tracks only. Let's support Asian music and languages! 🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating. 🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
This is really hard for me! There are so many beautiful OSTs and all are different and special to me 😭 So I am going to go with five favorites from different countries.
I. Korea: Rainbow by Coldin | OST from Love Tractor
I love the series and this song just gives me such a good feeling. The music just fits the series so beautifully. It is light and on the other hand a little bit melancholic. It is about a new love and allowing to be loved and love again and to walk this life together. I love it so much! And yes, he is sang Romatic Devil from the Semantic Error OST 😊 Just another great song!
II. Phillipines: Ride Home by Ben&Ben | OST from Like in the Movies
I know, this song is in englisch, but by a Filipino Band. This song and the scene when it played in the series...just AAAHHHHHH!!!!! I love it so so much! It is so perfect! And when you want to hear more of this great folk-pop band, I can really recommend Leaves or Araw-Araw. They have some really good songs. And if you haven't watched Like in the movies (Gaya Sa Pelikula), you really missed something. Such a good show!
III. China: Wu Ji by Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo | OST from The Untamed
Bold of anyone to think I wouldn't list this song! I mean, it is from the OST of my favorite series ever, sung by the main actors and I just love it SO much! But, to be fair, I would have taken something from Stay With Me, but the OST isn't out yet and I haven't found the song I love so much on Spotify. But this song right here it transports so many emotions for me. Such an epic song! I remember I heard the song before I have watched the series and was just blown away. After that I started the series and yeah, the rest is history. I fell in love with them and the whole story. I have the novels, but not the time to read them yet. I guess I find some time during my upcoming vacation.
IV. Thailand: REDO (ย้อนเวลา) by Krist Perawat | OST from Be My Favorite
The series has taken over my heart and so had this song. And I like his voice, singing or talking. And this song just speaks to my heart. It has a light tone, but the meaning is quite deep, just as the series itself. And I am in love. I guess there are just a few people out there, who don't want to change something in the past, undo some mistakes, make a different choice. Of course it is not possible, but it can be a reminder to just live the best life you can, so you won't regret your choices in the future. Oh man, I am so in love with this series!
V. Japan: 遠い国 by 上野大樹 | OST from Our Dining Table
You know the feeling when you watch something and there is this song and you can't think about anything else until you found the song and you can finally breathe again and just listen to this wonderful music? Yeah, that happend to me with this song. I don't know why, but I really want to cry when I listen to it, because it is so beautiful.
Because my five are full, I give an honorable mention to Twins by Julia Peng. It is from the OST of the taiwanese mini-series Innocent.
Oh, there are so many more good songs from these shows which I love so much and couldn't fit in here 😭
I really don't know who already participated in this, I know it is quite popular right now, but I just tag some people 😊 As always no obligations, just a little Hi, I thought about you 🧡

Getting back to the music
This weekend I stepped out of the BTS bubble partly due to work pressures but also partly by choice. I have a long and varied past, fangirling over fictional characters, but discovering BTS has probably been my first experience of parasocial interactions with real people and to be honest it shocked me to find out how invested you can become in the life of someone you have never met, living more than 5000 miles away.
Tumblr media
There has been a lot of shit going down lately both inside and outside the fandom and it's been taking all the fun out of being here. So I've been asking myself why did I start this blog, why am I still here and what are the things that I can and want to do with it?
First and foremost, I am here for the music. I commented before on BTS's role in my musical listening renaissance. Discovering them was part of that, yes, but with them I also discovered multiple generations of Korean and other global artists.
So this weekend I've been concentrating on the music.
Tumblr media
Listening to FACE listening to D-Day and putting together playlists that showcase these two talented guys but also other Korean and Japanese artists with a reminder that musical success isn't all about the numbers.
It's about making that connection with your audience. It's about having one of your songs make it to their forever playlist. It's about having another song make them smile as they sit drinking their latte at the coffee shop after a long bike ride.
We are used to big numbers as ARMY but there are plenty of really talented artists on Spotify that could never dream of the sales or the streaming that is being achieved for members of BTS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our guys are doing fine. They are in the privileged position of being able to do what they love and now, in the solo era, being able to explore their own interests and demonstrate their individuality through the music they produce.
youtube
youtube
Through their musical collaborations and Instagram recommendations they also throw a light on other talented South Korean artists with their own trajectory and extensive musical back catalogue to be explored.
youtube
Balming Tiger, So Yoon, Woosung and The Rose and Silica Gel just to mention a few I've encountered over the last couple of years thanks to different members of BTS.
youtube
And the BTS influence doesn't stop at the South Korean border. Also this weekend, I have been listening to Samara Joy, the American jazz singer that V posted on Instagram. She has an incredible voice. Today I booked tickets to see her at the London Jazz Festival in November.
Finally, it's already the 24th April in South Korea and time to celebrate one year of the release of With You by Jimin and Ha Sung Woon. This was my number one Spotify tune of 2022 and still has pride of place on many of my playlists.
youtube
I'm looking forward to whatever BTS members have next for us while enjoying the smorgasbord of great music we already have at our fingertips.

Penrose Song of the Day Day 24: We Might Even Be Falling In Love (Interlude) by Victoria Monet
Boy did I unexpectedly have a shitton to say about this one.
Have you ever heard a song and then just. Wished for more. I feel that way so often these days- in the age of the tiktok sample and the optimized 2 minute song for streams, there's something to be said for a song you can sink into and lose yourself to for 5, 6, 7 minutes at a time. Where is the Bohemian Rhapsody length song these days.
That's not to say that I hate 2 minute songs- I listen to enough Connor Price to admit it's ultimately fine for a song to be thrown off the pottery wheel after 2 minutes, fully formed. And tiktok samples are great honestly- usually the most interesting or expressive part of the song is the part that gets me to listen to the whole track. And I'll take my strikes of inspiriation anywhere thanks, even if occasionally it throws me a Fancy Like (And to be clear I, regrettably, fucking love Fancy Like. The mans has no taste, sorry guys).
But there's a special exquisite pain when you fall in love with a song that is not, strictly speaking, a song.
Victoria Monet is one of my favorite current artists and I've made absolutely NO secret of that. Jaguar II is a NO SKIPS album for me, she just kills it. Even lines I should NOT find charming (Titties bouncing and everything, anyone?) are just so excellent to me. She just has a way with a track that makes me buy in, right away.
We Might Even Be Falling In Love is my favorite track from Jaguar, and it's not even particularly close- there's about half an album of green hearts on this album too (She's consistent too. Dare I say GOAT status), but this 50 second NONSONG IS MY FAVORITE SONG FROM THE ALBUM.
The sultry, smooth fucking beat, that funk from the bassline that's so simple and then cuts out at the end. The melody is so catch, the brass warm and bright and like. I feel like I just hit a blunt in the best way possible and I am not a weed person (I did other drugs).
I knew that V. Monet was a top 5 artist of mine very early on, but I didn't admit it to myself until I took a long hard look at her other music and artist credits and realized she just had her hand on a vast swathe of my liked songs.
There's just something so smooth. So sexy. Very 70's in that way that I can see myself grinding with someone in an afro and bellbottoms. This song is going to be in my Spotify top 100 this year and it is NOT A REAL SONG.
Interludes and Intros are an almost lost art at this point on the album- I think that rap and r&b are the last bastions of both (Metal too but you're not ready for that convo) and the conventional album structure in general- which is fine! Not every album is a meticulously curated hour long tour, sometimes an album is "This is my setlist for coachella" or "look at my new singles". That's ok I think, there's no good way to release music and the entrenched hegemony of the album was due for a shakeup for a while (We saw that change heralded a billion times before the streaming era more or less killed the conventional album release for anyone not named Beyonce).
The point of an intro is to. Introduce the album. Novel I know. And unless your intro is DaBaby good, it's not a track that you're expecting to pop off as the best track on the album. Its job is to introduce. You learn some of the sound profile. A little of the flavor of the album. Themes, motifs, favorite samples. The artist's persona, that kinda thing.
Interludes? Palette cleansers. The change from one thing to another. Rather than some harsh cut from concept to concept you can ease through it with a sultry BOP THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IT'S OWN SONG OK PLEASE VICTORIA I'M BEGGING.
Sometimes Interludes don't even get that title- I'd argue Smoke (Reprise) is also an interlude in Jaguar II despite missing the designation. But it serves much the same function. Smoke is a much more mid tempo, fat, low synth, vibe of a song and Smoke Reprise acts as good connective tissue to Buju Banton getting full Reggae on Party Girls.
And part of what makes We Might Even Be Falling In Love such a good interlude is that it works as good connective tissue too. I will be honest I HATE Dive. I love Victoria Monet, and I think the song has something to it, but I am not into the whole fuckin Squeaky Toy production this song has going on. I get it's bed squeaking or whatever. I know that it's supposed to be suggestive. It sounds awful. The thing is. The parts with the squeak absent are actually good. I like the melody. And like the idea we go from "Fuckin, the song" to "Maybe we're falling in love" as an interlude? And then into "I'm a Jaguar... in BED" is chefs kiss. That momentary "Wait am I catching feelings?" moment in musical form.
Anyways, We Might Even Be Falling In Love is SO good it makes me wish the song was 5 minutes long. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. And honestly I'm glad I feel so passionate about Victoria's music. You should find something to listen to that you're passionate about too. You could be dead right now, go listen to something you love.

aw sweet! see what it says on the calendar?summer has sprung, it seems! some might say its time to show u sillies some songs for the season!
spotify link :3 :: yt link :3
full list + notes under the cut ^w^
Aluralura - Sweet Trip: this somg is soooooo fucking smooth. and cool. using the strictest definition of cool i can. perhaps cooler than cool. dk what ud even call that but this is it. sounds like i should be cruisin down the information highway to this straight up. feels like im being hit with a million little lightning bolts in. a good way? that doesnt sound good but it is. ull get it just listen pls just li
Babe of the Abyss - Girls Rituals: UGH devi.. i was so sad when this was pulled from streaming for a bit like some of the other singles from the upcoming girls rituals, but thankfully it did return :3 unlike the rest of those songs :/ eh this one is good enough to make up for it! so glittery and clicky and kinda unlike a lot of other songs devis done but it's v unique like that :3 the cover is interesting to me too bc it looks ai generated and it reminds me of a video devi made explaining her songwriting process a bit and after setting an arpeggiater (dk if i spelled that right lmao) to random she said she likes the collaboration between her and her computer and letting the computer decide some things like that :3 idk just a neat little factoid for ya
BALD! - JPEGMAFIA: was gonna put one of the tracks off scaring the hoes in this spot but, after deciding to go through peggys solo stuff a bit i liked this one even more than those ones :3 he has a very interesting and wide ranging sound tho so im really excitied to listen to more. uhh nothing else to say really. juts good song 👍
Cops and robbers - underscores: new underscores era hello anyone rockin wit it???? ME im rocking with jt thank u very much!! that one song count of three (you can eat $#@!), which ive heard is very good :3, was the end of the fishmonger era for them, where the "thing" was apparently that underscores wanted guitar on each track. still trying to find The thing about this eras sound, and maybe its the deeming it "the Wallsocket era", but to me everything just feels very buzzy, very electrically alive idk. like theres just this CRT/fluorescent light hum that backs the bass at the beginning. and the middle section just sounds like im listening to a fucking tesla coil make a pop song. shit Rocks. and Fucks. i give this one the Makes Violet Sing And Dance Around In Her Room Alone award this season, which is something i will absolutely be doing from now on and will not forget for the fall hehe :3
Dariacore Song Tutorial - leroy/Jane Remover: wait i thought there was YEAH there was dariacore on the last one, but as ive seen it so elegantly explained, this is a jane song more than a dariacore song. i mean obviously sonically right, no memey hyperpop mash up font, just some loud ass guitars n drums, but its good!!! jane literally incapable of missing.
Dress Down - Kaoru Akimoto: one of my many music moments recently has been getting into city pop more! i kiiinda only know the hits, of which this is definitely one of them, but ive seen my way around a bit B) (my cool sunglasses guy do not steal.) and even after my journey round the city.. pop, this is still one of my faves.
FELL - Varg^2™️ (im toolazy to make it superscript sowwy) & Bladee: since i began my drain journey i thought id listened to most if not all of bladees stuff besides like really old stuff that actually isnt good. like, bladee isnt good, but u get used to it as the saying goes and u kinda get to see his artistic vision unfold as he releases new stuff. but old bladee really isnt good. anyway imagine my delight and splendor when i see theres another Varg^2TM, Bladee collab... besides ecco and the rest of drain gang varg is probably my favorite bladee collaborator. in fact i almost put SHINIE, another collab from them, on some spring songs but it didnt make the cut unfortch. glad i could find something new from them to dig into mm yummy bladee :3
!¡! find the answer ¡!¡ - six impala: holy FUCK i am listening to six impala!
光の中へ (hikari no naka e)- Kessoku Band: yeah yeah i know there was kessoku band on the last one BUT THEY MADE MORE SO I LISTENED TO IT. they have such good push and pull with their tunes. like the moments of silence/slowing down before going all out. the quick drum interjections to pick things back up again. like nijikas fuckin getting it!!!! actually i read something recently about the critical reception to kessoku band, the self titled album, that makes a similar point. they were saying that although the album is just good j-rock on its own, the strength of the individual instruments and the texture of the songs themselves embodies the characters in your mind. like i listened to the beginning a bit closer one time and heard the little shreds the guitar was giving at the top and it instantly made me think like "oh shit bocchis fucking tearing it up!" soooo good instantly one of my faves from them.
It Was A Good Day - Ice Cube: fuuuuuuck i cant fucking find it i wasngonna put it here bc its the reason i added it to my playlist and have been listening to it so mch recently but. i cant find it. it was a top text bottom text cat meme edit of this song, in the same vein as that one of death grips' hacker. a very good morning walk song btw, cuz even tho it would be very easy for that situation to feel trite, im like shit. mama cooked the breakfast with no hog! todays gonna be a good day. it usually isnt with where im heading on my morning walk but. eventually itll be a good day! and the iced cube told me that.
Les Os - The Unicorns: sooooo this song is extremely horny to me sorry. also very kinda toxic t4t core but thats juts meeeeeee :3... + the singers voice is very similar in register to mine when in singing so it makes it v easy to project who daid that.... uhh anywag in the ol violet amv machine (what i call my brain) i imagine the singer with the mic stand tilted back between their legs, perhaps a cheeky little leg wrap around like sexy singers tend to do, as they stare down from the stage into yuor eyes specifically. asking u directly, out of everyone. tell me bout ur love affairs.. tell me bout ur moral resignations... so then u meet after the show and [transmission lost]
LOU - whoTF (Folie & Forget Basement), Fraxiom: [transmission regained] and from the production stylings of new hyperpop ish duo whoTF comes another lyrical miracle from the mind and pen of fraxiom music!!! includes such bangers as "I’m blowing up your car/I see Mercedes boom/I’m off four drinks of alcohol/Pissing in the ladies room!" rhyming "you can watch a youtube video" with "get your fitted tutu biddie hoe" (LIKE?) and also the amazing outro from which i could just paste the whole thing but this part resonates especially "I need to become alive, in the morning, like a rooster!/Don't talk to me until I've had my coffee and foodstuffs"..."Estradiol, finasteride, adderall, and thc im juiced up!" making rooster rhyme with foodstuff and juiced up and also everything else in that part god. they dont call them fraxiom fucking music for nothing. um but also whoTF is v good, for one without frax that is still good listen to cigs up as well :3
Natural Disasters - Enon: love me a song with a strange guitar hook! ive heard this bands like top 2 songs (which include this one) bc it was just a night of spotify surfing, but those two songs are quite good. very boucy, good energy. makes me wanna do the bounce in place dance and flail my arms as i sing only the chorus and maybe try to approximate the sounds of the lyrics i dont know. sounds like a good time to me!
Overflow - Een Glish, Tyfty, Ben Glish: eek! so ai voiced songs specifically rap is very good to me. that family ties edit with spongebob and patrick is probably one of my favorite pieces of music. but this artist is v interesting to me :3 een glish is a vocaloid (? not sure if entirely correct but u get what im getting at) made from the google translate ladys voice. and its GOOD this one specifically is very catchy but she has bars too!!! check out rap game bob ross too, and also the remix with bars from SONIC HELLO? im giving this one the Sound of the Summer distinction bc not only is it a very summery jam, but it is the one im really telling u to check out if u get the chance. lots of good jams here.
Scatman - Scatman John (DJ Kadozer 2003 Remix): (why did i accidentally type out 'evil remix' at first?) sooooo i was having a bit of a scatman moment recently, as was documented in THIS other epic music post u should go check out if u havent already hihhii :3 tho she TOTALLY STOLE the one i was gonna do, Scatman's World, cuz everyone knows scatman right? skabadaba bweebopbopbadop bop? bopbop badop bop? yeah that one! but.... have u ever heard scatman. like this???? probably not... all im sayin... scat vocals/eurobeat foundation translated to this stabbing edm remix.. its quite good. good enough that the first few seconds alone get me to smile big like this :)
Shop - Toby Fox: songs to order a You. Pick. 2... to...... haha but seriously guys this ones just a really chill one :3 i can alwasy hear the you. pick. 2. part in the song bc theyre punctuated exactly the same way its kinda hell. im chillin. like usual. listenin to undertale musicand then how boutta You. Pick. 2. with some brawwwcolli cheddah. onsecond th... and then were done with that and back to the normal undertale song! like an angle in the knight.. or tiers in the reign...... here and then gone forever. truly, ephemeral..............................
The Flag Is Raised - Asian Glow: in case we couldn't drain enough this summer, asian glow put out this really neat interpretation of one of my faves off bladee and ecco2k's recent masterpiece, Crest. follows in the footsteps of many a bladee cover for me where the cover often plays over the actual song in my head. like i expect certain isntrumentation when i listen to the original that is only present in the cover but that just means theyre both good ! the guitars and the cymbals all over this make this version feel so shiny... aww and they use the little sigil ring from Crest on the cover for it too :"3
THE FLIES - Operation Sodasteal: think i mentioned this in the tags of a post that im sure uve all read before coming to class today, but ive been listening to a lot of these guys recently! just some furry emo nightcore rock that sounds plucked right out of 2007. the one vocalist, slaney(in)famous i think? im not confident which is which, has such a good voice for it too like they have all the good vocal inflections of ur typical lead pop punk vocalist, and i usually just end up singing the lyrics like them bc im just a silly little mirror huh?
This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) - Talking Heads: ooobh i got plany off time....... yeag ive been getting down with this jam recently :3 another good morning walk tune. been trying to get into talking heads a bit more too bc every song i hear is soooo good. like i almost put the girl wants to be with the girls here bc of that OTHER meme edit i actually dont remember if it was lolcats again. it was specifically the "girls are getting into.. abstract analysis!" OHHBB it was a rose homestuck thing bc i memba her sitting at her lappytop :3 doin some fuckin abstract analysis i suppose..
Tin Man - feeble little horse: this is another single turned favorite-song-on-the-full-album-bc-i-took-too-long-making-this-list-again-lol. i love what theyre doin to these guitars maan theyre really fuckin em up in there..... also i love that this band just calls its music guitar music. its fuckin true.
Vicinity of Obscenity - System Of A Down: songs that have done irreversible damage to my psyche and syntax. i will bust out a banana banana banana terracotta banana terracotta terracotta pie when the fuck ever just let me know the time and place my man. it is such a vocal stim for me. this whole song is honestly. some of the silliest nu metal u can get ur paws on i checked (she is lying to u again tho it is quite silly with it 😳) + had to go with the 2008 youtube editor lyric video for the youtube playlist obviously.
ahmmmmm so thanks u all once again for enjoying some more songs with me (summer edition)!!!!! <3333 see yall...... in the fall.. with some more songs hehe (or perhaps for summer......2! who knowce :3 the summers still got plany off time as some might say)

hello, I'm searching books about King George V and I'm struggling a bit to find them.. Can you recommend me something? And I was wondering if exists Photo Albuns with important date's through is lifetime? Thank you for your time 😊
Hi! I'd recommend Never a Dull Moment by Jane Ridley. It recently came out and she was given access to (and actually used) the royal archives, which in my opinion, makes her book more accurate.
Alexandra Churchill wrote a great book about George, during WWI, which I also recommend. (She also had access to the royal archive).
Alexandra also has contributed to some podcasts about George, which are really interesting (on apple podcast and probably Spotify)!
For pictures, I'd recommend going to the Royal Archive website. It allows you to search for whoever you want and choose dates, which helps narrow it down.

I finally have had a moment to look over our Stray Kids survey results and give you all some interesting findings. Mostly that you all love DOMINO and Charmer. A lot.
First of all, thank you to all who voted! We ended up with 87 responses, which I could not be happier with. By now, you've seen the top 32 in our bracket, but I've also been looking at perceived popularity via Spotify streams and Youtube views.
Here's a look at the top 10 songs by Spotify streams*, compared to the other stats:
Tumblr media
It's a testament to how good Charmer and DOMINO are that they have made it into the top ten without any M/V, and were ranked so highly from the survey we did. It also surprised me that Christmas EveL made it into the top ten - how many of you stream it outside of December? I'm a Christmas music year round kind of person, so I won't judge ;)
Here are the top 10 from our survey, compared to the other stats:
Tumblr media
From looking at just streams, it really doesn't seem like DOMINO, Charmer, and Easy should be up that high; and VENOM, TASTE, and ITEM have a pretty strong drop off in streams. I think those six songs are fan favorites, maybe not streamed/watched as much, but definitely songs that we keep coming back to and love. And, it makes sense that the title tracks have much higher streams then the favorite b-sides.
When we did our bracket, just the three of us, God's Menu, MANIAC, and Back Door were three of our top four songs (Thunderous lost to MANIAC in round 2. It was tragic they were up against each other so early). It'll be interesting to see how the public bracket shakes out when two of those were not the highest rated, but arguably more well known.
I think this will be my last post on the SKZ survey results, but let me know if there's anything else you want to see from the survey! I have pulled the stats that I think are the most interesting, but I'm always open to suggestions or questions!
Some logistical notes:
I pulled the streaming stats in early October, so there will be differences now.
It's expected that M/V views would be higher than Spotify streams, since music streams from other platforms are unaccounted for.
*Top ten of those songs that were included on our poll

Thank you for the photos of the building!😊 They will help me imagining the story
I completely understand her point of view and reasons to avoid him, I would've done the same (you can also find me feeling bad for Jason🥴)
It makes me curious and very excited to read more about her bond with her boss!
Seeing her isolated and suffering on her own after she found out her condition made me so sad
My mind is already thinking about when her parents will learn about the pregnancy and also meeting Jason😔
When you wrote about her weights at the gym being unorganized my mind went immediately to that moment she used her time to fix them at the early chapters
AND THE PARALLEL OF THEM ENCOUNTERING AGAIN, I LOVE PARALLELS
JASON BEING SUPPORTIVE NO MATTER WHAT, I LOVE HIM😭
Him thinking she looks pretty while crying, he will be scared if he saw me like that☠
HE CRIED A LITTLE TOO
When they introduced to each other at the car🥺
ALSO YOU ADDED THE SONG TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS owww thank you💜
The chapter was amazing! I'm very excited for the next one!!

Yk, she has her reasons, but he too has his reasons to be upset. I guess they have a lot to work on regarding their relationship (spoiler: chapter six will be interesting for that ;) wait and see)
It makes me curious and very excited to read more about her bond with her boss!
I'm so excited to write more about her and Sandra, because their relationship is based on one of my favorite movies (The Devil Wears Prada) but as if they actually liked each other and both were good people lmao
My mind is already thinking about when her parents will learn about the pregnancy and also meeting Jason😔
I guess this was sent before chapter v, so... yeah... her parents are shit
When you wrote about her weights at the gym being unorganized my mind went immediately to that moment she used her time to fix them at the early chapters
If it's not obvious by now, I wrote Yn to be a bit of an organizing freak, and there's a good reason and it's mainly because of her parents. So when she's as lost as she was at that time, she loses control of the little things. If she's a mess, she'll make everything a mess, I guess.
JASON BEING SUPPORTIVE NO MATTER WHAT, I LOVE HIM😭
HE IS THE SWEETEST!! YOU'LL SEE!!
ALSO YOU ADDED THE SONG TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS owww thank you💜
It is still in my Spotify 'On Replay' playlist because of how much I listened to it while writing that chapter lol. Thank you for the recommendation, it is a lovely song that helped me a lot while with my writing process.
The chapter was amazing! I'm very excited for the next one!!
Thank you! Your messages are some of the ones that gives me excitement to write the next chapters. Like, at this point, I get anxious waiting for them.
and you wont have to wait for long for the next chapter, i promise 🤫

Ohhh if you are still doing that music ask game 👀👀👀👀
🔍📚🎤🦋💭 :3
This will probably the last one of it since people seems to have moved on x'D
You got: Spaceman by Electric Callboy 👀
youtube
🔍- how did you find the song?
It was a mixture of a German friend recommending the band and me getting interested given the whole 'CCC sounds similar to We Got the Moves' thing going on after UMK that got me to check out the band so while having spotify on shuffle through their discography this song came on and I was hooked!!!
📚 - what would your middle school (or equivalent) self have thought of this song?
I would either have had to take a few listens to get it or immediately vibe with it: no inbetween x'D
🎤 - would you sing this song for karaoke?
Probably not - I don't trust myself to belt lik Nico or to growl like Kevin :'D
🦋 - is this song a part of a musical phase you were going through at some point? (e.g. emo phase, indie phase, first-discovering-music-on-your-own-in-your-youth phase)
Since I only discovered it 5-6 months ago I guess it's part of this 'European wierdos making music is a vibe actually' phase I am in rn x'D hahahaha
💭 - does this song remind you of someone? if yes, who?
Probably the friend that showed me the band ^V^
Thank you for the questions :D

was scrolling through your blog (love it by the way) and In terms of which member is the most popular, I think in America and lots of Western countries, it's undoubtedly Jungkook and Jimin (with Jungkook being much more popular after the World Cup and Seven, like at this point people would have to be delusional to deny it lol) But I think when people talk about how V is super popular too, it's because he's arguably the more popular one in many/most Middle eastern and Asian countries (and the asian music industry is HUGE. Not as big as America but still very big).
Sorry, it's not that serious but seeing lots of people underestimate V's popularity and be surprised kind of makes me go like ??? because while no one (at least no one with brains) expected V to pull the kind of numbers that Seven did, especially not in the US, V's popularity in Asian countries isn't new at all.
Layover's success (so far) was possible because of V's global popularity, with Asian countries putting in the majority of his streams and sales.
it just kind of feels like when people talk about the general public what they really mean is "Americans" or "Western people" because it's usually expected that whatever is popular in America has to be popular everywhere else, and while that's sometimes the case, it's not a sure thing. Idk if I'm making sense, but it was honestly a shock for me to find out people were shocked by V's results lol.
Him having the most IG followers isn't the only indication that he has a lot of popularity, mainly in Asia.
I mean the records and number she's pulling Korea, China, Japan, The Philippines, Vietnam, etc... are kind go crazy and really cool!
They're all so popular and maknae line are on an insane level but for a while there, it kind of felt like the fandom as a whole underestimated V, and weren't seeing him as popular/successful as jikook and tbh I don't really understand when that shift took place. It's been really weird on twitter lately.
Sorry to rant in your inbox. I was just surprised to learn that you were surprised by V's numbers. Been following you for a while!
I've been Army for 4 years but I think I only joined Twitter (for BTS alone) last year. So, despite being Army, there was a lot I didn't know, and still don't know, about the fandom. Since V's probably my least biased member it's easy for me to underestimate his popularity. I knew he was first or second to Jungkook in that area, but, to me, it didn't seem like he was making as much noise with Layover as Jimin with Face. But, like, aside from his massive popularity, Layover has 4 versions and Armys knew the album itself was their only chance at breaking records as Slow Dancing is not a great song for charting.
From my understanding, after Dreamers, Jungkook became the most popular member in Africa and in the Middle East? And he's arguably as popular as V in a lot of other Asian countries. He was all over Asian stores with CK. It's true that the "general public" is often Western countries, particularly the US and in Europe, but Seven dethroned OMG on Spotify Korea and charted really well on Billboard Japan.
Like I said, though, I don't know the fandom that well still, especially the Asian fandom who I think might not use Twitter as much as other platforms? I think underestimating V's popularity comes from that. If you're not that interested in someone you might not understand why everyone else is. V being the second or most popular member never fully made sense - I see it a lot of times, yet I don't? - which makes it hard to understand the scope of his popularity... Like, I just don't keep track of all of his accomplishments, and pretty much everyone I follow on Twitter are Jikook stans, Ot7 update/translation accounts, "daily" whatever accounts (Jungkook, Jikook, Jin, Jinkook, etc.), so I don't follow any V biased Armys as far as I know.
Thanks for the ask!

From Nina Simone to Isabel Parra (?)
The truth is that I don't have a great affinity for pop music -or music in general- that was produced before the 90's, so the first classes didn't generate a great interest in me (sorry for the honesty), however, I do have an anecdote related to the "Hitsville - Soul, Motown, Black Culture & Music" class that I would like to share.
By the year 2012, when I was studying another career, I had a somewhat pretentious classmate who liked to play Jazz music while we were in the classroom. One day I heard this classmate playing a jazzman that caught my attention, even though I didn't like that kind of music, it was John Coltrane.
In those days there was no Spotify in Chile, and more than anything out of curiosity and to expand my musical ear I came home to listen to John Coltrane in a YouTube playlist, in those glorious days when YouTube had no advertising. It was interesting to listen to him for a while, but what was really important was when the playlist jumped to another artist, Nina Simone.
The song that appeared was "Ain't got no, I got no Life", and already with the first seconds of the song it captured my attention completely with that sad piano melody, however when Nina started singing it completely destroyed me because of the powerful lyrics and Nina's voice and interpretation capacity. I think it's one of the few songs that makes me want to cry every time I listen to it (in a sort of a good way), even if it's not a genre of music I enjoy very much. The version that I specifically like is not the most known version that you can find in the records, it is the live version that I will leave below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOwtHCTIhgE
Maybe I'm getting off topic, but after all it's my anecdote, so I wanted to share that somehow this song gives me a very similar vibe to another song that makes me want to cry, which is "Lo único que tengo" by Victor Jara and Isabel Parra. I understand that the significance and the contexts in which both are extremely different, however there is "something", a feeling that reminds me a lot. And I hope this resonates with someone reading this.
Thank you for reading me
