What is left of us, when we are gone?

Throwback to 2017 and one of my favorite lost places I've ever explored!

This factory unfortunately was already demolished. They produced metal until 2006 when they had to file for insolvency. I got to talk to one of the previous security guards of the property and he told me about the tragedy that happened in the family of the owner during that time.

After filing for insolvency the owner is said to have taken his own life so the ownership fell into the hands of his brother. But instead of selling the useless property to him, he started offering it to gangsters in the area back in the day to dump their waste here and sell illegal substances. It became a dump for cars and wheels of all sorts, which made it necessary to guard the ground 24/7 because the wheels were highly flammable.

This gangster's playground closed down eventually and the guard told me they were just informed one day, that they will not have to come here anymore. So the factory stood alone and was trashed until it was finally demolished in 2019.

A fascinating lost place and I was happy still wandering these grounds before it was wiped out. Now I have these pictures and the knowledge of something once important to my hometown that's about to be forgotten.
