I must confess. I found you because I was a lot into esperanto and I'm pretty sure are the main reason I started watching MCYT. Maybe

The Esperanto content in my blog is o.o1% that's why I have to clarify this is a MCYT mostly.

I don't change URLs because I have A LOT of links that depend on my URLs to work (Like the cursed mcytblr and iconic mcytblr masterposts I have on my pinned) and those are genuinely like 200 links to posts that would have to be changed. It would also suck for archiving purposes unless I linked old and new URLs (I like to back up my blog on the Wayback machine from time to time. I actually haven't done that in a while and probably should soon).

You have to realise this blog is more than 6 years old and I haven't changed the URL once.

Anyway I'm glad to bring people into the fandom! Unfortunately the MCYT fandom gets really bad reputation and a lot of the times is because of one single person and sometimes straight up things people made up.

That's how you get so many "dsmp dni" on people's bios.

(rant):

People don't seem to realise a server isn't a person and ignore the other 20+ people that were on it (the server is over now anyway). Literally the majority of the server has distanced themselves from Dream. The main writer wasn't Dream, it was Wilbur and apparently it wasn't even Dream who paid for the server (Badboyhalo deserved better)... It's so disingenuous equating Dream to everyone. Dime people do it worse and equate ALL MCYT with Dream which is even stupider. Grian hasn't ever spoken with Dream in his life, Joe Hills roasted Dream once so hard I'm just glad not many people watched him so there weren't people attacking him on masses.

What I mean to say is that unfortunately for situations the mcytblr fandom is a lot of times powerless to change because people don't want to actually listen we don't get that many outsiders in. The MCYT usually drives a lot of people away, but I hope I can drive the idea that honestly we are here just to watch Minecraft.

Sometimes it's stories we want to see but they're just being told through the medium of Minecraft. Sometimes it's some cool technical achievement so you might like to watch redstoners or anyone who likes to break the game, sometimes you're here for the cool builds, sometimes you just enjoy the second gay Olympics (Eurovision is the first MCC is the second)... There's so much to enjoy in Minecraft and honestly people are missing out on the opportunity the game gives to just do almost anything they want.

Some people just need more Jellie in their lives

I’m finally making, posting (something at least) and pinning this introduction to everyone who stumbles upon, or clicks and looks and scrolls and follows and likes or whatever they want to do.

Thinking, choosing, and picking online nicknames and online & preferred names in general are hard and confusing. I suppose for names I’m okay with right now you can can call me Fire, Daya or Pyre. I don’t mind the interchangeable use as long as you make it clear it’s me you mean or are talking to.

This is the main tumblr blog. Consisting mostly of MCYT, Hermitcraft, Empires, Pirates, and The Life Series Smps. Occasionally may have DSMP. Still a little bit new to all the former medias/fandoms. But may delve into other fandoms/whatever interests me and personal rambles rants & vents. May make a side blog specifically for the big interests I have, or not depending on how I feel. May just keep the whole thing all mixed together.

I love to scribble/draw/do art and may post rough drafts and finished projects and whatever here. I write, may make drabbles and though I haven’t posted on ao3 (edit: until about some months ago) and may share it later any fanfiction and links if i want to/like it. (Also. CW/TW, may post sexual/nonsexual gore fic or art. will be tagged accordingly though.)

I’m not great at it, but I’m trying to be better to look out and follow more people and like/reblog/reach out/tag whatever I want to.

Hi! I'm Bebebe (she/her) and this is my qsmp centered mcyt sideblog (my main is @itsbebebe and I follow from there).

My main povs are Tubbo and Badboyhalo (soul sacrificers :D) and a bit of everyone else where my attention span and life schedule can allow it.

I'm also a multishipper, mainly for qtubbo or qbbh (and tubhalo and foolbo are where i thrive)

Qbbh should have lots and lots of gay sex and Sunny and Richas are the babies to ever exist ever.

I've been watching qsmp since around the time of the flippa trial - I was into mcyt before then tho (went thru a weird pipeline of sims ytbers -> minecraft monday -> smplive onwards to dsmp and then took a mcyt break near the end of dsmp. But I accidentally got into qsmp and now im stuck here ig).

I speak english primarily (cuz im british ennit) but have been learning spanish for quite a long while now (for like over 5 years) so feel free to send me asks and stuff in spanish! (Honestly u can interact in any language but i just know spanish best)

Hi everyone. Just here to let you know that fanartist fibi-draws secretly owns an account in the ‘enderbees’ community (a group dedicated to shipping and truthing Tubbo and Ranboo), better known as ‘ebblr’. This account is called lemon-ebblr, and I’d encourage you all to block them, as well as their other blogs. To be clear, I am not and have never been part of ebblr, I’m just concerned that this person has been able to stay a part of this community for so long.

Let’s start off with the more coincidental evidence. Both accounts list their age as 20, and both use they/them pronouns. Both were involved in the Sanders Side fandom before leaving and joining MCYT.

On the 17th of October, fibi-draws received an anonymous ask saying that if they were a fruit, they would be a lemon. The day after, lemon-ebblr made a post saying that they hated the fact that they’d given their friends in ebblr their main account, specifying yesterday in particular.

On the 9th of March 2021, lemon-ebblr created their account and posted this message, talking about putting a hibiscus in their next drawing of ranboo and tubbo. Later that day they said that they’d done it.

On the same day, fibi-draws posted a piece of beeduo art with, what do you know? A hibiscus, with fibi even acknowledging it in the tags.

lemon-ebblr also owns a discord account, which has been in a not insignificant number of enderbees discords.

(On the djfibi account they were asked if they shipped technoblade and dream. They discuss it on the fibi-draws account. The discord messages are their reaction to it on their discord)

Anyway. I hope this was enough to prove to you that fibi-draws/djfibi owns an ebblr account. I’m certain about it and have been definitively told that the account are owned by the same person but that’s not proof. Thanks for reading.

why did you choose your url?

well i grew up on the internet in the early 2010s so i was obsessed with starkid which lead to musical theater in general which lead to dear evan hansen which lead to will roland which lead to be more chill which lead to joe iconis and that hasn’t lead anywhere else because i’m so far up this man’s ass he could tell me to jump and i’d give him 5 million dollars for a bloodsong of love revival. anyway. funny enough it was because i was so up will roland’s ass that i gave joe iconis’ music outside of bmc a chance (back when he tweeted out a thread of joe iconis songs the night before the tonys). and he was right. he has taste even if all i see from him nowadays is globe twitter. anyway. never heard nothing (along with the bar song, try again, and last on land) is the quintessential joe iconis song in my humble opinion. but also my opinion is backed up by joe so. i’ll just let him say it.

Are there any tropes that you see in Danganronpa fan-projects/stories that you made sure to avoid?

Interesting question! I admittedly haven't exposed myself to many Danganronpa fan stories, so I don't know how widespread these tropes are, but here are a few that come to mind:

1. Trying to be "another Danganronpa story".

(Note that there are spoilers for every main DR game ahead.)

The original Danganronpa tends to follow a strangely strict formula with its plot and character designs. For instance, Chapter 3 always has two victims killed by someone who reveals their darker nature. The big beefy character always dies in Chapter 4 in some form of sacrifice. There's always a headstrong girl who shows a ton of cleavage for fanservice. There's always one asshole character who seems to enjoy messing with the protagonist and the rest of the cast. Chapter 5 always has the most confusing case orchestrated by someone who cannot be trusted. There's always a scene where the male protagonist peeks into the girl's bathroom (Why... Why.) (And yes, according to a friend of mine, at least one fangan exists with that kind of scene.) The list really goes on.

While this repetition isn't necessarily the worst, I feel like with v3 it became especially apparent and left me feeling tired of repeated tropes. But unfortunately, I think a lot of fangans feel obligated to follow the same formula too. Believe me, I completely understand why. I've definitely done the same thing and repeated some tropes I liked. But some fangans seem to want to follow Every Aspect Of The Formula and it just feels unoriginal and forced. Hell, even looking at fangan casts/sprites sometimes gives me this vibe. The art style/character designs look like Danganronpa down to a T and while that's very impressive... It personally doesn't spark my interest.

I do criticize Danganronpa a bit on this blog, but I completely understand loving the story and wanting to replicate the same feeling in one's own fangan. However, there are countless fangans out there and I believe the first step to standing out is breaking away from the formula. As I said earlier, this is something I have struggled with myself, but I am hoping to fix this more in the revamp.

To emphasize, I don't mean my thought process is "don't do anything similar to what happens Danganronpa". Some tropes are natural to have in a fangan; for instance, everyone having some level of memory loss or the outside world undergoing some kind of apocalypse. Some tropes are fun and harmless, like having a Monochromatic Mascot or the protagonist having an ahoge. My philosophy is moreso "do what I want to see in a Danganronpa story, not necessarily what a Danganronpa fan expects to see". And of course sometimes there's an overlap there, but it has to be what I really want.

That was a lot longer than I expected...

2. Gratuitous Gore

All of you who've read WH know I am not against gore or violent deaths. The original Danganronpa could get horrific and bloody too, especially in v3. But holy crap, I've seen some fangans become a complete gorefest. Especially the executions...

Obviously this one is more of a personal preference. But in my opinion, gore for the sake of gore just feels like a cheap way to evoke horror. If you do it too much, the effect wears off. I try to keep extreme gore to certain events. Also, I always found the appeal of executions to be in the irony and pure chaos, not the potential violence. While it is definitely tempting to go the gory route, I always try to think about if the execution is still relevant to the talent or the character's backstory. One thing I hope not to do with the revamp is underutilize the potential of the new talents' executions.

3. The Rat

This one is highly subjective, and I don't actually dislike this trope. A rat character is definitely a nice stand-in for the antagonist role before the mastermind is revealed. However, I'm personally a little tired of this trope. While this was also partially because the original characters were based off YouTubers, I found that I quite liked writing a fangan cast where no one really is an (intentional) asshole. Keeping MonoWither (and the Puppetmaster by extension) as the main asshole was fun and made them a stronger villain.

4. Having too many characters

I don't know if this was just in the DR/MCYT sphere but I definitely saw a bunch of fangans there with a TON of characters. We're talking like... dozens. Anything more than 18 to me feels excessive. It was hard enough juggling 16 at the start. If the author can't remember that many characters, the audience definitely isn't...

5. Hope's Peak Academy Setting

Again, not a bad trope and kind of inevitable especially for fangans. But I just didn't feel like having WH take place in that universe. Not only would I have to convert things to take place in a Minecraft world, but it just seemed restrictive. Having a different setting and world has been fun for me to develop!
