I’m so sorry if this is a stupid question but I genuinely don’t know much about the topic.
When it comes to Tiefling ruts, would they be considered painful without a partner?
Not at all a stupid question! 🖤 Because this is entirely a fan-created headcanon, so I'm sure everyone who subscribes to it has different thoughts about it! Tief tumblr weigh in 👀
Personally, as a lifelong Trekkie and Spock girlie, I have a lot of biased opinions about this (pon farr anyone? no?) So I may not be the person to ask. My short opinion would be yes, probably it would be a more painful situation without a partner. Or at least, it would likely be more drawn-out to go solo during a heat/rut cycle. That makes sense to me from a biological standpoint (don't look too closely at my logic, it is shaky)
@forgeofthenine @ceo-of-sloppy-men @rolansrighthorn Shamelessly tagging the three of you on this, in case you have...thoughts to add 👀

gen 4, 5, 9 and story 3, 4, 10 :3
General: 4) What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval? > be weird, take chances and talk back. that's probably the best way to gain her approval because she has a devious way about her 5) Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions? > please don't take her outside without her giant hat and cloak, if you do she will be pissed and leave your party, she's a vampire idiot 9) Does your Tav have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s knife-fight? > hmm I can't really think of a person she would really dislike getting along with, she's amicable but just very blunt I think if anything people might complain about having now TWO vampires in the camp. She assures them that she's a vampire with self-control and is a "ethical + free range" type of gal, and they have nothing to worry about.
Story: 3) How do they react to Astarion biting the Player Character? > "Awh, you let him bite you but not me? What a pity, you look like you'd taste absolutely divine." 4) How do they react to the Player Character letting Abdirak whip them? > that meme of matthew mcconaughey smoking wishing it was her 10) How do they react if the PC licks the dead spider in the Gauntlet of Shar? > "Was that... good for you? That thing reeks, but if that's what tickles your fancy then.. let them eat.. rotten meat?"
i love u thank you you made me use my brain

Can I request headcanons for Dammon, and Zevlor unconsciously wrapped his tail around their waist or leg (I can't decide because I love both of it too much XD) when his human gn crush is about to leave? They're surprised because they thought he was being too nice to tell them to leave so they asked with hopeful eyes if they could talk to him a bit more.
I had a great time writing this, I love tiefling tails! I hope you don't mind Anon, I added Rolan into the headcanons too :)
I'd also like to point people over to @underdark-dreams again as their recent tail headcanons have been my latest brainrot and these definitely take some inspiration from them <3
Tiefling bachelors stopping you from leaving with their tails
Dammon
Dammon finds it so hard to control his natural instincts around you
His tail swishes and curls towards you near constantly
It's something any other tiefling can recognise as him showing interest, but to you it's just 'how he is'
This time, you're both talking at his forge, discussing inconsequential things despite the fact it's already falling dark
As Dammons tail starts to sway faster you think it might be that you've overstayed your welcome
Dammons lovely after all and might not want to send you home
Your attempt at saying good night is interrupted however, as a firm tail wraps over your back and holds you in place
As your voice fades, Dammons face bursts into a blush, finally realising what he's done
The tail leaves you almost as fast as it appeared, a disappointing development
Dammon clears his throat, eyes not knowing where to settle, and finally he looks at you again
"Well, would you like to stay for dinner?"
Zevlor
This man has great self-control
Years of military work in the hellriders has perfected how he acts
What threatens to undo that is your very presence
You're with him in his makeshift office again, having a good go over the maps before lunch
Standing with a short yawn, you mention not wanting to take too much of the leaders precious time
It's then that a small panic runs through Zevlor, the man not quite ready for his company to leave, so what does he do?
Wraps his tail gently around your calf
He near hangs his head in shame over how forward the gesture was, even for a non tiefling like you
What reassures him is hearing your laugh ring through the room, surprised eyes looking back up at you
"I'm- I am so sorry, I didn't mean to."
"Zevlor, if you want me to stay, I'd love to."
This man never wants to let you go
Rolan
I can very vividly see how exactly this would happen with Rolan
We all know this man is so, so stubborn and he hates doing what others tell him to
He's the master of Ramaziths tower, it's been a long day of lectures, he's still grading papers despite the raging cramp in his hand
So you creep into his study to try and ease him away and off to his bed
Rolans shoulders tense under your touch before relaxing again, the only response you'll get from him other than a small hum
After what feels like ages, you decide he's much too stubborn even for you
Nothing works, soft words, rubbing his shoulders gently, whispered threats-
It's only once you turn away that a sneaky tail wraps around you waist and pulls
In no time, you find yourself sitting across the wizards lap, his face pressing into your neck
His breath is warm over your skin, his tail even more so as it curls comfortably around you
Rolan sounds truly exhausted when he finally speaks
"I'll go to bed, but only if you come with me."

All We Do Not Say
Hi beloveds! I have crafted a soft little Gale fic for you because it's my firm belief that everyone's favorite wizard deserves all the warmth in the world. 😌 Also on AO3, if you prefer. As always, thank you for reading. 💕
There was a time in his life that Gale could sleep anywhere, provided he had a good book and a space to sit down.
In Waterdeep, he might wake in his armchair or on his balcony with the weight of an ancient tome still resting in his lap, or at his desk, his cheek pressed against parchment. The smell of it, of ink and lignin, would bring him back to his senses before his eyes were fully open, and he’d recall what he’d been studying, and begin reading again.
At home, in his tower, he could do this night after night and still feel mostly rested come morning.
But he is far from his tower, and farther each day.
Perhaps it is the orb that keeps him up as of late, with its insatiable, unnatural hunger, or perhaps it is the tadpole that wriggles and pulses impatiently inside his skull. Or it could, he supposes, be the simpler and less curable matter of aging– an affliction that seems, on occasion, more frightening than either of the others.
Whatever the cause of his recent insomnia, it pulls Gale into a rather distressing cycle– he cannot sleep, so he cannot focus, so he cannot read, so he cannot sleep.
Instead, he finds himself offering to keep watch over camp in the evenings, if only for the distraction. The far-off gibbering of a newborn gnoll, the crunch of foliage under goblin feet, an animal scream– each night a fresh and distant horror calls his mind away from greater threats, from illithids and tadpoles and gods.
It’s an odd remedy, he knows. But the alternative is lying awake in his tent, turning death over and over in his mind until the thought is worn smooth as a river stone.
It works well for a time, keeps his mind on the present and off of some vague, future doom.
That is, at least, until they reach the Underdark.
Deep beneath Faerûn, there is something profoundly disturbing about the lack of…well, everything. They find no grand cities or quaint little villages, few animals and even fewer people.
No trees, no light. No sky.
Most nights spent underground are so quiet that Gale may as well stay in his bedroll, staring up at a canopy of fabric, dark as the velvet earth above them.
He thinks, It is like being buried alive, without even the stars to bear witness.
On these nights he can feel the stones in his head turning over.
Even so, come the evening (or what he guesses is evening), Gale volunteers to stand sentinel for the fifth time in a tenday.
He always asks them after dinner, when his companions are most likely to agree, after his cooking has warmed them and filled their bellies and made them want nothing more than to close their eyes and dream of somewhere, anywhere else.
Tav is the only one who protests with any frequency, the only one who seems to notice that the circles under his eyes are half a shade darker than they were yesterday, when they were half a shade darker than the day before.
Even on nights when she convinces someone else to take his place, he will relieve them after Tav has gone to sleep.
It starts the same way every time.
Gale walks the perimeter in an infinite loop, looking for life in the darkness, illuminated only by the fire in the center of their camp. It makes him feel like a distant planet, nearly untouched by the sun. How strange to think that he’d once felt like the sun itself.
He continues in his orbit until the subterranean cold gnaws at his limbs. It bites down hard on his nose and ears and fingers, chases him back to the fire, back to the light.
Hypnotized by the flames and their radiant warmth, he does not hear the quiet stirring in the tent beyond his own, doesn’t hear the soft approach of nimble feet.
A voice comes to him out of the darkness.
“I hope you’re not keeping watch again.”
“Mystra,” Gale gasps, startled, the goddess’s name invoked in equal parts a prayer, a curse.
“Forgive me,” Tav says, through a laugh she cannot help. “I didn’t mean to frighten you.” If it were anyone else he might be annoyed, or even a little embarrassed– but the sound of her laughter bubbles like seafoam over sand, rushes over and around him. Coupled with the relief that she is not some dreadful creature of the Underdark, he finds it difficult to feel anything besides affection.
“It’s quite alright,” he recovers, with a shake of his head. “You surprised me, that’s all.”
“Then I really hope you’re not keeping watch.”
She is teasing him now, just lightly, a familiar spark of warmth behind her eyes.
It is the same look she gives him when she brings him a new book, or when he cooks for her, or when he tells her about Waterdeep. It is the same look she gave him earlier in the day, when she had offered to brew him a tea that might help him to sleep.
Gale has trouble remembering the last time another looked at him this way, so interested and inviting and earnest.
Perhaps, he thinks, another never has.
“Are you alright?” Tav asks, when he’s been quiet for too long.
“Of course,” he says with the sincerity of a promise, offered with a smile that he hopes will be convincing. “Just lost in thought.”
There is a part of him that doesn’t want to leave it there, that wants to share his every thought with her, his every terror, every dream. She must know that there is more to it, must’ve learned by now to recognize when Gale isn’t telling her everything, but he is grateful that she doesn’t press him, never presses him.
Instead she breaks into a grin and says, “You’re lucky I’m not a bulette.”
“I’m lucky they’re not so light-footed. What are you doing up, anyway?”
“The cold always wakes me, sooner or later,” Tav sighs. “If I’d known it was so godsdamned frigid down here, I might’ve nicked a fur or two from the Zhent.”
It’s Gale’s turn to laugh, though she’s only half-joking.
She’s drawn near to him, to the flames, her palms outstretched, her fingers spread wide as if to grab hold of as much warmth as possible.
“But it’s alright,” she continues, “So as long as I’m close to the fire.”
“Any closer and you’ll be in it, I’m afraid. Perhaps I can help.”
Tav tilts her head and quirks an eyebrow in a curious little expression. “Can you?”
“If you’ll allow me.”
Gale turns to face her fully, and she mirrors him out of instinct.
“Hold out your hands to me,” he says. “Palms together, just barely. Like you’re praying.”
“Like this?” “Like that.”
The spell is one his mother taught him, among the first he’d ever learned.
He still remembers that winter in Waterdeep, when the snow fell hard and fast. When the ice in the harbor kept the ships at arm’s length and the frozen streets shone like glass. He was young then, six or seven, but even now he can feel his small hands in Morena’s, warmed by a word and a touch.
Warm and fed, she used to tell him. That’s how you show someone they’re loved.
Gale cages Tav’s hands lightly in his own, the way he might hold a butterfly. He pushes all thoughts of winter away and calls to mind the rippling heat of summer, an orchard grown fat with peaches, the silvery shimmer of sweat on skin.
The rose-petal flush of a cheek cradled in a hand, her cheek, his hand…
“Calor aestas,” he says quietly, when the image comes into clear view. He feels the cold melt from her fingers, hears the comfortable sigh that follows. “Better?”
“Yes,” she murmurs. “Much.”
She is looking at him now with an intensity he has not seen since the night he first showed her the Weave, all that time ago. The night he saw her thoughts laid bare, had all but felt her lips on his.
Had she seen them now, the visions he had conjured? Had she felt him pull her close in his own mind?
Tav clears her throat softly and he comes back to himself, his heartbeat thrashing wildly in his chest. He realizes with some urgency that he has not let her go and pulls back suddenly, but not without reluctance.
“I hope,” he swallows, trying to compose himself. “I hope it helps you sleep.”
“Do you want me to stay up with you?”
Yes, he thinks selfishly, Yes. Stay up with me, stay close to me, always.
He shakes his head instead. “You should rest while the spell holds.”
“And how long is that?”
“As long as I’m able to concentrate.”
He will think of her hands and their pull on a bowstring, their pluck of a lyre, their grip on a sword. How they weave her own magic, how they cradle a book. How they felt clasped in his, soft and cold.
A focus worth holding, at last.
“Only if it’s no trouble,” she says.
“None at all.”
Gale is grateful that he manages to stop himself, for once, from saying the rest of the thought as it enters his head. I would think of you anyway, magic or no.
Tav takes his hand in hers again, this time to squeeze it fondly.
For a moment, he feels that if he were to die just now– from the orb, from the tadpole, in the jaws of a hungry bulette– it would all have been worth it, for this.
“Thank you, Gale.”
Her smile is warmer than any summer he remembers, brighter than any star he can name.

A small prompt because I needed soft Astarion for once :)
Prompt: Astarion has a nightmare in the Underdark.
Pairing: Astarion x GN!Reader
Words: 804
Tags: fluff, hurt/comfort
Tumblr media
You rest peacefully, enjoying the calm breathing of Astarion beside you. Your bodies naturally meld together, having grown so accustomed to sharing the same bedroll since the first night you spent together, both seeking the closeness of having another body or soul. Suddenly, the elf begins to mumble, and his breathing grows rough and fast. His nightmares have really worsened since they entered the underdark, the scenery reminding him too much of his old life in the shadows.
His mumbling quickly starts scalating.
"No, please… Cazador… please…"
The elf's breathing is shallow, his face scrunched in agony.
"Please, not the rats again… Not the blood… please…"
Rising from your bedroll, you gently shake Astarion.
"Hey," you whisper gently. "Hey, Astarion..."
Despite your efforts, he continues to twist and hyperventilate.
“N-No! Please! I'll do as yo-you say, just don't…" Desperation echoes in his pleading voice.
You climb on top of him, shaking forcefully to pull him from his nightmare. "Astarion! You're not there! Wake up!"
He awakens with a sharp inhale and a shiver, pupils dilated, body trembling. His breathing is heavy, and tears stream down his cheeks. You breathe a sigh of relief, taking a moment to gently wipe away the tears with your thumbs.
“You’re okay,” you whisper softly, your voice comforting. “Cazador is very far away. You are safe now.”
His tear-streaked gaze meets yours, but the sobbing lingers, accompanied by quivering breaths and trembling body. He wraps his arms around you, his tears soaking your shirt. Even if he’s awake and no longer dreaming you can’t seem to put his mind at ease. He squeezes you, tightly, as if this is the only thing keeping him from falling apart.
His intense reaction catches you off guard; it’s the first time you have seen him this affected by a nightmare. You wrap your arms around him, holding him close to your body and gently caressing his bare back in a soothing rhythm. Gradually, his body relaxes, and the sobs subside into quiet sniffles against your chest.
“Was it a bad one?” you whisper, your lips brushing against his hair.
Astarion doesn't withdraw; instead, he melts into your embrace, burying his head in the crook of your neck. There's a pause before he speaks, inhaling slow, shaky breaths until the shuddering subsides. In a weak, hoarse voice, he finally responds, "Yes..." but he remains tightly pressed against your body. "Cazador..." he manages to say, as if uttering the vampire's name demands a considerable effort.
You silently nod in understanding, letting one of your hands move up to gently bury in his hair, fingers caressing the soft strands. "Is it the darkness? Does it make it worse?" you ask softly.
"Dark... yes... and the caves... so... many caves..." his voice still trembles. "It's... too dark here," he murmurs against your chest.
“We’re all a bit frightened of the dark at times. A little light can make it more bearable,” you reply softly, conjuring dancing lights with a subtle flick of your wrist. The small tent is then bathed in a gentle glow, pushing back the shadows and offering a comforting radiance.
Gradually, he starts to relax in your arms, but to your surprise, doesn’t release his hold on you.
“This…this is better,” he sighs, “Thank you… I really miss the sun,” he says softly.
You smile against his hair, murmuring, “I know you do. We’ll be back up in no time. I promise.”
Though you can’t see his face, the way he seems to curl into you adds an intimate air.
“Could you hold me?” he asks, uncertainty lacing his words.
The request surprises you, causing your heart to squeeze, but you conceal the reaction, not letting it show. Under normal circumstances,  you would have messed with him for his tender disposition. However, this moment feels too delicate to disrupt, so you simply nod in silence. You lie back down on the bedroll, guiding his head to rest on your chest, fingers gently threading through his hair once more.
As his breathing gradually slows, the only audible sound is his own quiet exhales. He’s so close that you can feel his cold body,  the velvety touch of his soft skin against your own.
“Thank you,” he says quietly, so softly that you almost can’t hear him. The tiny lights seem to dance in his hair, creating a somewhat angelic aura around him.
You tighten your embrace around his frame, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of his head before closing your eyes.  A quiet sigh escapes him, and in the gentle ambiance created by the dancing lights above and the distant, faint sounds outside the tent, neither of you utters a word. The space is transformed into something more than a tent – in that fleeting moment, an unexpected sense of home envelops you both.

Okay as great as crybaby!tav is we really glossed over the potential of mommy!Tav. I may be a smidge bias because that’s a lot like my tav, as she’s so damn determined to take care of her friends and was a baker before she was an adventurer so she’s constantly just doting on the companions offering them pastries. It’s a little self indulgent but My Tav has a little quirk that she grew up food insecure and just absolutely refuses to eat until she knows everyone else has eaten because she can’t bear the thought of any of her friends potentially going hungry. She’s normally very submissive and sweetly to all of them but no amount of begging, discipline or concern will break her because she just cares so damn much. Could you write the dom mom squad™️ reacting too something like that, who tries to comfort them? Who is incensed that she doesn’t believe they can provide? Who gets so hung up on the fact she’s being stubborn they forget the original issue?
A submissive mommy who can cook and give good hugs will literally fix 90% of the gang here, unironiclly.
Reacting to a very motherly Reader
[Bg3 women, fluff, dom mommies, afab!reader, fem pronouns, sub!reader ]
Tumblr media
Karlach would relish in your dotting.
During her life in the hells, she was both touch starved and food starved for so long. You being there to encourage her with the pep talks, headpats, and occasional pie is everything she has ever dreamed of and more.
As much as she wants to be the one to take care of you, she can't help but let relish in you fussing over her. The coddling, the comfort, and the constant attention are slowly frying her brain from how happy she is.
Did she die and go to heaven?
She becomes very protective of you, never lets you carry heavy stuff, and always asks if you need her to bring you ingredients or something during her errand runs. No, no, you don't have to tire your pretty little legs. Just stay in camp all sweet and pretty while she goes out and brings you everything you need.
If you didn't know any better, you'd think she's subconsciously treating you like her stay at home wife.
She really likes hovering around while you cook, watching you work attentively and sometimes begging for a sample taste with her puppy eyes.
And yes you being the one feeding her those samples is very important, it enhances the taste a lot.
It might take her a while to notice the fact that you were always the last one to eat. Or how you immediately offered your plate if someone else wanted seconds.
She thinks it's very sweet at first but slowly grows more and more concerned at your well-being.
I mean, if she had to, she would sit on your lap to prevent you from getting up as she hands you a plate of food. Your stern talk will just make her feel guilty and sad but she'd refuse to let you get up.
As much as she loves nothing more than to obey her mommy, sometimes she also needs to take care of her mommy like she takes care of her.
Minthara would admire your ways.
Tenderness and love were never words that anyone in her culture used to describe a mother, an ilhar. No, they tend to fall more on the brutal and disciplinary side.
An ilhar meant authority, control, and order. To defy her is to commit a sin. To show weakness in front of her is even worse.
She is reminded by that cultural difference whenever someone describes you as motherly.
The only thing you had in common with the matrons of the underdark was that underlying strength. That unbreakable will hidden so deep inside you, the urge to survive at any cost and defend your subordinates. She admired it greatly.
You were very strong deep down, strong to be truly worthy of the description of motherly. That kind of strength that the males will never understand, the kind of strength that nurtured even more strength.
So when a person like you showered her in hugs, kisses, and even brushed and styled her hair for her from time to time, how could she ever be ungrateful and say no?
You were generous and kind even when you had no need to be, you were selfless to a concerning degree.
She had to put a stop to that.
Minthara respects you too much to use any of the punishments or disciplinary ways that her matrons taught her. She will talk to you like an equal because that's what she sees you as.
She will be very patient with you. Stopping you when your self sacrifices become too much for your health to bear, Reminding you that you also require as much food and rest as the rest of them.
She'll teach you to relay on her slowly, as gentle as she possibly can be. Which...isn't very gentle, honestly, but she is genuinely trying her best.
Jaheira feels like you complete her.
As an actual mother to so many children, Jaheira still never truly grasped the whole motherly vibe people keep preaching about. Her kids are safe, fed, cleaned, and trained in combat. Isn't that enough?
So what it if she was absent on missions a lot, need I remind you that her line of work concers the safety of the whole world? What kind of mother would she be if she let the whole world, which included her kids, end just because she picked to stay at home and colour with her youngest.
She knows it doesn't excuse it. Give her a break. She is at the end of her age and hasn't had someone by her side since in a long while.
That's why when you suddenly appear in her life with all of the qualities she was severely lacking in, she almost thinks it's too good to be true.
...you almost remind her of a certain someone she lost long ago. You're just as soft and caring to others. Ironically enough people also underestimate a lot because of your kindness too.
She is drawn to you, like a moth to a flame.
Jaheira can't help it. You shine with radiance, and she hasn't felt warmth in so long.
The first few days she brings her kids home-cooked meals, they immediately hold a knife to her throat as they demand this doppelganger tell them where their real mother is.
But after some very awkward conversations, and having to bring you into her house as actual proof. They realised that their mother's stone heart can still beat after all apparently.
Shadowheart tries to play it cool, fails.
She has an edgy mysterious aura she needs to keep, and you're making it very hard for her. How is she supposed to be this dark, cool cleric of Shar when you keep gifting her these hand-knitted pastel sweaters with the most loving look in your eyes.
Of course she will wear them, she isn't heartless.
She's really trying not to show how touched she is when you look for her during dinner at camp to make sure she got her plate. She can't help the blush on her ears when you wipe some food from the corner of her mouth.
She's mean to people on your behalf when they're rude to you or try to take advantage of your submissiveness. Actually she is just mean to people in general if she doesn't like the way they look at you.
Loves taking naps on your lap, absolutely adores when you play with her hair or braid it. Your thighs are the perfect pillows for her to rest her head on and just forget about the outside world and her mission for a while.
She saves the best wine she finds to share it with you later, or the best sweets or fancy jucies if you don't drink. She had to defend her stash from both Gale and Wyll wandering hands, absolutely refusing all of their offers or begging for some of that fancy cheese or that perfectly aged wine bottle.
You're the only person she ever shares it with. She doesn't even want anything in return. She just loves seeing you happy and relaxed every once in a while. You always take care of them, so it's about time that someone takes care of you too.
Laezel has killed people for disrespecting you.
And she'll do it fucking again. These worms forgot their place. She doesn't even care how little their offence is, just efficiently ending their miserable life.
Why do you have a look of disappointment on your face? She did them a favour. She even made it painless and quick to compromise for your feelings.
Chk. Your softness will be the end of you. Be grateful that she is here to prevent that from ever happening.
You threaten not to take her with you on errand runs anymore if she doesn't put her sword away? You really think you can survive without her?
...okay yeah actually you can. You make a really valid point.
If it was anyone else she'd have taken that request as an insult on her honor, but since it's you...
Fine. She will listen for now.
And maybe if you keep making more of those faerun dishes, she will find it easier to listen to you. Especially the apple pie ones.

Astarion x Y/N - drabble - 2.2K WC
Masterlist
Warnings: angst, fluff, hurt/comfort, near death experience for y/n, Astarion crying, companions featured!, visiting Avernus (yikes), the Underdark, guilt, fear
--------------------------
Astarion smoothed his thumb over the ring on your finger. No matter how long you had been married it was still as if you had just said “yes” to him. 50 years have passed since the elder brain. 40 of which you have been married for. And every day you woke to those scarlet eyes and fell in love all over again. You remained yourself, Astarion never pressured you to turn into a vampire like him. He knew the loneliness it could bring and he didn’t want that for you. You managed to cultivate an elixir that froze your mortality. It nearly cost you your soul to get all the ingredients, most of which you had to beg, borrow, or just flat out steal from some very prominent gods. But you did it. You froze your aging, remaining as young and beautiful as you were when Astarion met you.
You watched the glow peer through the sheer curtains, leg thrown over Astarions waist as he held your waist in his sleep. Holding you close as always. You looked out into the Underdark, the strange landscape had been your home for quite some time. Beautiful as it was, you missed the sun. The fresh air, the occasional breeze. You never let onto it, knowing Astarion would spiral, envisioning himself as some sort of leech who kept you trapped with him. You would trade the sun for him any day. But still, the heart longs for things it once knew so well.
“Your face will get stuck like that if you frown any harder.” Astarion whispered.
You looked up at him, his eyes were closed still, the ever perceptive bastard. “Bad dream.” you mumbled as you relaxed your face, snuggling into his chest.
“Tell me?” he asked while gently massaging your scalp.
“Sleepy…” you said with a yawn before kissing his chest.
“Then sleep my love, I’ll see you in the morning.”
-------------------------------
You awoke feeling refreshed. Your house was still bathed in darkness. You had grown accustomed to this, but still, sometimes you missed being greeted by the golden rays of the sun.
“Darling,” you started as you stretched your rigid limbs, “I was thinking… Maybe we could go to the surface for a few days? Gale has been begging to see me ever since we moved to the Underdark. I miss our friends. And Jaheira isn’t far off from Waterdeep. Neither is Shadowheart. And I’m sure Karlach would slip away from Avernus for a bit if she knew everyone was top side.” you picked at your nails, you hated talking about the surface. You alway wondered if it made Astarion feel bad.
Astarion kissed your forehead before pulling you up so you could be eye level with him. “My sweet, you may go to the surface whenever you wish, you know that. But… somebody has to stay with the spawn. Especially the younglings, they’re still so unpredictable.” his eyes held a sad look. He would never admit it, but he missed your companions too, even Gale. But he knew what he signed up for when he released them. He kept balance between he spawn and the Underdark’s natural inhibitors; drow, myconids, duergar, etc.
You let out a small sigh, “Only a few days, I swear it.” you kissed him, thumbing over his cheek as you held his face.
He leaned his forehead against yours, “I know, you can’t live without me.” he said with a smirk but you could hear it in his voice. The waver that held uncertainty. He knew you loved him, but it is so easy to leave and never return.
------------------------------
You opened a portal early in the morning. You left Astarion a jar of your blood on the kitchen table along with a little love note. He knew you were leaving early, giving you a small kiss before he watched you go.
The sun was blinding and took your eyes several minutes to adjust. The soft glow of the Underdark didn’t compare to the ball of fire in the sky. It almost felt oppressive. However - feeling the warmth on your skin, the wind in your hair, the smell of the grass. Gods how you missed it all. You ran your hands through the  tall grass as you walked towards Gale’s tower you saw off in the distance.
He captured you in a bone crushing hug as soon as he saw you. “Y/N! My dear friend, how I’ve missed you.” he said fondly. “Come, come! Everyone is inside!”
As promised everyone was inside, even Lae’zel. You hugged them all, holding each of them a little longer than normal. God’s you missed them all. Everyone looked just the same, a few new scars and wrinkles here and there, but the same. Gale had managed to pull something off similar to you, ingesting dark fire to keep his soul bound to this plane of existence thus his body remained as well.
“No Astarion?” Karlach asked with sadness evident in her voice.
Your friends all looked at you sympathetically, “The spawn… they need him. And the sun… tends to be an issue.” you said with a slight laugh, trying not to bring the mood down.
“Did you never find the Sunwalker’s ring?” Shadowheart asked.
“Our leads stopped years ago… we made a home in the Underdark. It’s not so bad, we never get sunburned.” you shrugged with a lopsided smile.
Your friends nodded, quickly changing the subject as they noticed your mood dropping. You talked, drank, ate, and laughed. It felt identical to when you traveled together, regaling each other with new and old stories. Eventually though, bedrolls called to everyone.
You looked out the window of Gale’s tower. You had almost forgotten about the moon. You felt a pang in your chest, you missed your husband. You twisted your wedding band around your finger, trying to feel close to him in the dark.
Gale walked up to you slowly “Missing someone?” he said as he passed you a chalice of wine.
You smiled softly, “You only get one great love in life… it hurts to be away from him.” you said looking into the deep red of the wine.
Gale nodded in understanding. “If I may, I might know of another way.”
“Way for what?” you said with a confused look.
“A way for Astarion to walk in the sun again.” he said, his eyes shining with hope.
Your eyes widened, “Go on…” you said.
“In Avernus, there is something called “The Eternal Pit "; it is a hellish void. A portal really. To a realm of the unknown, but if you survive it, those who have returned alway return with their hearts desire.” Gale said with excitement.
“I’ll do it.” you said immediately, “Now, we go now.” you said as you jumped down from the ledge of the window. You rushed to Karlach’s room, knocking lightly before you rushed in. She laid on her bed, resting but her eyes met yours as soon as the door opened.
“Hello?” she said with confusion on her face.
“I need you to take me to The Eternal Pit.” you said quickly.
Her face was dripping with shock. “I’m sorry, what? You can’t be serious.”
“As a heart attack.” You said sitting on the bed next to her. “Please, it’s the only way Astarion can walk in the sun again. He deserves it, Karlach.” you begged, your eyes becoming glassy. Your lover deserved the world, and you’d do anything to give it to him.
She sighed, her eyes searching yours. “I have a feeling you’ll go with or without me… fine.” she sighed.
She started to put her armor on. You dawned your mage armor along with your simple chain mail. “After you.” she said, opening the portal back to Avernus.
----------------------------
“As requested, The Eternal Pit.” Karlach said, cringing as she looked into the swirling black void in the center of the burning, abandoned monastery.
Your gaze never broke from it, “If I don’t return…”
“Don’t” she said sternly.
“If I don’t… tell Astarion I’m sorry for leaving him alone… I just wanted to give him everything he deserved. And that I love him more than he could ever know.” you finished your sentence before letting yourself fall forward into the pit.
Heat enveloped you, thick and sticky like tar. It felt fluid and yet molten at the same time. You walked through a sea of nothingness, just emptiness for what felt like ever before you arrived at a shimmering mirror. You gazed at yourself, skin melted, bone showing. You touched the shimmering surface of it before you were thrown backwards. A devil slowly made her way out of the mirror. Her imposing figure looming above yours.
“What dost thou want?” her voice echoed in a sinister whisper throughout the void yet her lips never moved.
“The Sunwalker’s ring.” you stuttered out as you lay in the blackened tar like fluid.
“Why?” she asked.
“My lover needs it.” you said simply, not wanting to overshare in case the devil was trying to form some sort of trick.
“What whilst thou sacrifice?” she asked, outstretching her hand.
You thought hard. What could you give of equal value? “Take whatever you wish, just not my soul or immortality.”
The devil smiled, “You’re brave. What are you willing to endure for this boon?”
“Anything.” you said. Suddenly you felt all your skin peeling off. Your nails being removed one by one.
“Pain is your price. If you say stop, your soul stays with me.” she smiled wickedly.
The pain was unlike anything you’d ever experienced. Searing. Melting. Evil. You writhe about, feeling every part of you be ripped apart just to be put back together and torn apart once again. You screamed and cried but never said stop. You remember everything fading, slipping deeper into the tar like water before you felt… nothing. There was an absence of everything in this abyss.
--------------------------
Astarion rushed through the halls of Gale’s tower, not caring if the sun scorched his skin every time he walked past a window. He made it to the laboratory in the basement. He stopped when he saw your body resting on a gurney.
He rushed to you, “What happened?!” he yelled, demanding to know.
You had been missing for three days before you reappeared in Waterdeep. Fainting as soon as you materialized, Gale kept you in the laboratory. He watched your vitals day and night, Karlach blaming herself for taking you despite knowing your stubborn heart would have gone no matter what.
“OUT! Both of you get out!” he screamed. Feverish tears rushed down his cheeks as soon as he knew he was alone. He held your limp hand, kissing over your face “Wake up, please… you promised…” he held your forehead to his. His sobs wracked him, he kept his head on your chest for hours, listening to the only sign of your life. Your heart beat was weak but steady. He didn’t meditate for days.
“Astarion…” Karlach said as she entered. She left a cup of fresh blood next to him. “They… I know their heart and mind was filled with only you when they stepped into that pit.” she patted his shoulder.
He didn’t move, he was practically catatonic. They had told him what happened. Why you went. Your last words. Everything. He couldn’t be without you so this is where he would stay until he too faded into nothing.
Astarion was sure he hallucinated it, a twitch of your eyebrow. Then your finger. He saw your eyes shifting beneath your lids. His head shot up despite the dizziness he felt due to lack of feeding. “Little love?” he whispered.
You shot up bolt right, leaning off to the side to throw up black liquid that scorched the stone flooring. After coughing and gagging for a solid minute you regained your sight a bit, “Astarion?” you mumbled, unsure if he was really there or if this was a fever dream.
“Darling?” he said, kissing over your face.
You sunk back down feeling weak.
“GALE!” Astarion let out a booming yell which had the wizard running in. As soon as he saw you were awake he rushed a bottle of antidote and superior healing to your lips. Color returned to your face quickly.
“Don’t ever do that shit again.” Astarion said with a watery tone.
“I know, you can’t live without me.” you mumbled with a smirk as your shaky hand reached for his face, cupping his cheek.
Astarion let out a shaky laugh before he kissed you. The healing potion tingled against his lips but didn’t distract him enough to feel a warm sensation slide up his ring finger. He begrudgingly pulled away to look at the cause. A golden band with a golden gem softly glowing.
His eyes widened, “How did you…”
You softly smiled at him dragging him back into a kiss. “Let’s go home.” you whispered against his lips as you carded your fingers through his hair.
“No…” he shook his head, “My brothers and sisters will manage without me. We’ve lived in the shadows long enough. Let’s make a new home.” he said.
You nodded quickly, pulling him into a crushing kiss as you pressed him close to you. He held you tightly, responding with just as much urgency and passion. “I love you.” he said.
You kissed him over and over, “I love you. Now, Sunwalker, let’s go make a home for ourselves.”

Summary: An Elf-Tav reincarnation story where Reincarnated!Tav dreams about Astarion in their nightly reveries and eventually seeks him out once they reach maturity. Things definitely totally go well.
Author’s Notes: I'm bringing over some of my multi-chapter fics from AO3, so if you've already read this, ty!! I love you and appreciate you so much! I will continue to add chapters as I format them, but the full fic is available on AO3 here if you're feeling like a binge.
Heads up-- while there will be explicit moments, this is first and foremost focused on romantic tension and yearning, asking the question: 'Would you still love me if I was someone completely different?’ Explicit scenes will be few and far between and very much focused on their feelings. It’s essentially an established relationship slow burn?
This has unascended Astarion, “good” choices are made in the original timeline, Tav needs to be an elf for this to work, but otherwise no specifics on past Tav. Present day Tav is a magic-user.
Chapters:
Chapter 1: Knifes and Nightmares
At 12 years old, you first dream of the Pale Elf. The encounter scares you and sets you on your path forward.
Chapter 2: The Second Encounter with the Pale Elf
Nearly 19, you think you have a handle of your past lives. However, not all of your past lives are created equal.
Chapter 3: What it Means to Love
Now 29, you're still trying to piece together parts of your past. In particular, what exactly was your relationship with Astarion?
Chapter 4: In this Lifetime
Now 99-years-old, you've managed to ignore your worst impulses to run off to Baldur's Gate. One night's reverie finally breaks you.
Chapter 5: Guidance from a Druid
After finally setting off to find Astarion, you receive a confounding memory from your past life. Ignoring what it might mean, you focus on your task and visiting Halsin, one of your past-self's friends.
Chapter 6: The Man of your Dreams
You make your way toward Astarion, trying your best to prepare for the encounter to come.
Chapter 7: Just One Night
You plead your case to the vampire.
Chapter 8: Who You Have Become
You try to learn more of who Astarion's become, while also trying to convince him of who you were.
Chapter 9: Ghosts of You
After he storms off, you try to track Astarion down only to find yourself on a trip down memory lane. Once you do catch his trail, you’re surprised to see where he’s gone.
Chapter 10: Overheard in the Underdark
You traverse a new landscape, looking for Astarion. What you find might be more than you bargain for, and what you hear might be too much to handle.
Chapter 11: An Interrogation
You spend the night in vampire prison and have a difficult conversation.
Chapter 12: The Source of his Pain
As you aim to leave and never look back, Astarion realizes that perhaps *he's* the one that made the mistake.
Chapter 13: And They Were Roommates
You and Astarion try to find a common ground between you. Things are awkward and tentative, and progress is anything but linear.
Chapter 14: A Blossoming Friendship
Now in your second week of living together, you and Astarion have to get past some of the hurdles your first week introduced, all while getting a bit closer along the way.
Chapter 15: More than Friends Pt. 1
Push finally comes to shove. As fun as living in the present is, Astarion forgets that present dangers are still very, very real. Afterward, emotions run high, and you find yourself in a familiar predicament.
Chapter 16: More than Friends Pt. 2
After talking through the previous night's tryst, emotions are confused, pasts are divulged, and everything comes to a head when your heart and soul want different things.
Chapter 17: What We are Now
When you’re left to your own devices, you find yourself knee-deep in mystery. Despite all of this, Astarion never leaves your mind. And perhaps you never leave his.
Chapter 18: Traveling with a Friend
You and Astarion travel together to Waterdeep. Emotions run high as you reconnect and reestablish your boundaries.
Chapter 19: The Wizard’s Tower
After traveling through Waterdeep, you and Astarion finally arrive at Gale's tower. Introductions are made, tours are had, and the relationship between yourself and Astarion continues to remain complicated.
Chapter 20: Sweets and Shopping
After receiving some advice from Gale, you and Astarion spend the day shopping and talking through your friendship.
Chapter 21: Dansarra’s Delights
Your wizard friend gives you a nigh impossible task, and you spend the day trying to find your opening to complete it.

For the ask game, “mine” ?! 👁️👄👁️
Tumblr media
[WIP game prompt!]
Thank you both! I may have made this one sound too exciting...'Mine' started as a Rolan x Tav fic with a little Gale jealousy thrown in, with a chapter at the Grove party and a chapter at Ramazith's Tower after Rolan/Tav are an item. Sort of love triangle that exists only in Rolan's mind because he's got some lingering insecurities.
Cal and Lia have also completely invaded Chapter 1, I simply cannot say no to them:
"Rolan!" He swiveled his head away from where Tav stood at the wizard’s tent and back to his brother. "Why are you shouting? I’m right here," Rolan scowled. Cal glanced at Lia as if he might be going crazy. "Seriously? I've said your name ten times, you got something between your ears?" "Someone, more like," Lia muttered into her wine as she sipped. Her tone was much too knowing for Rolan's taste, and he fixed his eyes resolutely on Alfira’s lute where she strummed by the fire. “What?” Cal was looking back and forth between Rolan and his sister, not quite following the subtext.  “Oh, Cal—” Lia heaved a world-weary sigh and clapped her little brother on the shoulder. “We’ll tell you when you’re older.” Cal blinked with recognition. “Wait, you mean Tav? I thought we were all just ignoring that.” The two others stared at him—Rolan with mild horror and Lia genuinely impressed.  “Yeah,” Cal went on. “Rolan spent all that time working her favorite animals for when he showed off his magic, and he only ever does that for people when he fancies th—” Rolan aimed a flick at his forehead to stop the tide of words, but Cal ducked it with the ease of many years' practice, grinning at the attempt. “Hells,” his sister laughed. “When did you get so smart?” Cal shrugged, a bit proud of himself. “I can remember things,” he said simply.

No Thoughts, Just Vibes
Oh, you know, just a little Solstice/Midwinter treat for you. Enjoy!
Rating: E Pairing: Astarion/Tav (descriptionless) (BG3) Content warnings: PWP, PIV sex, oral sex, sex toys, tooth-rotting fluff
---
Their adventures by night in Faerún take them all over, from the Underdark to check up on Astarion’s siblings and their new spawn charges to Waterdeep in search of potential arcane solutions for certain undead individuals with sun sensitivity.
In fact, they find themselves entering Waterdeep just in time for Midwinter. The magicked streetlamps of the place glow golden and are festooned with all manner of wintery decorations, which feel oddly out of place in the seaside city but have a magic all their own nonetheless.
It’s just past dark when they approach a wizard’s tower, having spent the daylight hours getting to know the tavern and inn down the way while the sun still sparkled off the water. Now that it’s safe once again, Astarion and Tav ring the bell near the tower door and are greeted with a series of chiming meows in the style of a popular carol.
“He really doesn’t have to try so hard,” Astarion says, smirking despite himself. “And yet.”
“Let him be the dork of his dreams,” Tav chides playfully. “He deserves it. We all do.”
On cue, the large door of cypress wood before them swings open and their wizard friend holds out his hands in the foyer of his tower, arms wide.
“You made it!” Gale says, beaming. “Come, come inside. Please mind Tara, she’s been quite taken with the mistleberry and has made herself sick more than once despite my gentle reminders .” He yells the last words toward the spiraling staircase and from a nook nestled high in the wall, he receives a hiss in response.
“Relateable,” Astarion mutters as he comes inside, but he accepts an embrace from Gale nonetheless, giving him a stilted pat on the back.
Truly, the lot of them are glad their adventuring brought them to Gale’s doorstep. It’s nice to be off the road and surrounded by modern luxury again, and the wizard’s gone out of his way to ensure their modest celebration is full of delights. He’s even procured a top-vintage sanguine refreshment for Astarion.
“Did you imbue this with clove?” he asks, swirling it in his goblet and giving it another sniff.
“Not exactly,” Gale says, cheeks rosy from his own imbibed glass of wine. “Were you aware certain herbal and spiced components cross the blood barrier when inhaled or consumed? Give the resulting blood a bit of an essence for a certain frame of time. Garlic is the most common offender, but I thought I’d skip it, in this case. This donation came from a dear friend in the spice trade. One who doesn’t ask many questions and frequently dabbles in certain other trades.”
Astarion blinks against the verbal onslaught, then turns to Tav and says, “Hold on. Is that why I break out in hives after you’ve put too much garlic in your food?”
Tav’s also delightfully tipsy and she raises her glass to him. “I love you, dearest, but I’m not giving up garlic for you. Some prices are simply too steep.”
The night winds on and on like that until eventually Tav nods a sleepy head onto Astarion’s shoulder and he guides her off to bed in the spare room at the base of the tower. He returns to Gale, who’s ragaling Tara with his own rendition of “Marvelous Midwinter” to her great disdain.
“So, Gale,” Astarion says, interrupting to give Tara an appropriately respectful scritch on her head. “I have a bit of a favor to ask, if it’s not too much trouble.”
“Not at all, my friend,” Gale says, swaying. “How can I help?”
Astarion reaches into his pocket and procures a folded bit of something. He hands it to Gale, who unfolds it and examines it with some curiosity before cocking a brow at him.
“Any possibility of, erm. Recreating something to this effect?” Astarion asks. “One tied to a command word, perhaps?”
“Oh, certainly,” Gale says, going into tinkering mode as he examines the object. “I would need a few components, but luckily I have them in stock, thanks once again to my spice merchant friend. A little bit of articifer ingenuity to craft an arcane battery, some relatively complex enchantment, and a… wait.”
Gale gives Astarion another look and the vampire tilts his head and smirks.
“Right, I’m not asking,” Gale says, eyes back on his new puzzle. “Give me a day.”
“Lucky we’ll be here for three,” Astarion says with a light laugh.
The morning of Waterdeep’s official Midwinter celebration dawns bright and mild, the sea breeze rustling through the thick curtains they keep drawn in the guest room to ensure Astarion doesn’t wake up with burns or worse. They doze in the double bed in their underthings, Tav draped across Astarion’s chest and breathing softly as she wavers in and out of sleep. He’d actually fallen asleep last night, pressed up safe against her, and now he smiles into her hair, tracing his fingers up and down her arm.
Eventually she stretches along the length of her body and yawns against his skin, resting her chin on him and looking up into his face. She blinks lazily and runs a finger over the length of his nose with a delicate touch.
“Morning, dear,” she says, voice still rusty with sleep.
“Happy Midwinter, my love,” he murmurs in return. “I got you a little something.”
“Oh?” Tav purrs, sitting up a bit. “Is it fun?”
He arches a brow. “I certainly hope so.”
Astarion tangles his fingers in her sleep-mussed hair and draws her to his mouth, kissing her deeply as she relaxes into his body, letting her tongue stroke against his. He rolls them both to their sides and hooks his leg over hers, taking his time as he lights up her skin in all the ways he knows she loves. She laughs, tilting her head back to expose her throat to him, and he licks along the column of it, though he doesn’t bite. He wants her fully aware this morning.
With one hand, he deftly undoes the clasps of her brassiere and tosses it aside. Her smallclothes follow quickly after. She hums, pleased, lazing onto her back as he kisses down her breastbone, palming one of her breasts and rolling his thumb over her nipple until it peaks. His mouth works at the other, teasing and swirling until she’s arching up into him and rubbing her thighs together.
“Is this my gift?” she sighs. “I like it.”
Astarion chuckles against the space below her breasts as he continues working his way down. “In part, I suppose. But not quite.”
He runs his tongue underneath her breast and then leaves her a moment to fetch something from the side table. She whines at his absence, but he doesn’t leave her waiting long. He rolls back over, slipping a ring snugly down onto the second knuckle of his middle finger.
She giggles. “Are you proposing to yourself? Fitting, honestly.”
“You’re cute when you’re lust drunk,” he says before he puts the weight of his body on top of hers, kissing her deep.
He hauls her leg up by the thigh, wrapping it around his waist so he has better access as he runs his hands down the length of her, gripping her arse tight before moving around to the front and teasing his clever touch between her legs. She’s already going wet, her arousal making for a smooth draw over her skin and she settles into it, a wide smile on her face, knowing she’s in a master’s hands.
Astarion grins. She has no idea.
He places his hand flat against her slit, cupping her and resting the ring against her in just the right place.
“ Deliciae ,” he whispers.
The ring sends a brief, rapid vibration through her core, just beside her clit, and Tav cries out in surprise, bucking her hips and gripping his biceps, her breath going erratic. She’s fully awake now, staring up into his face, wide-eyed.
“What in the hells,” she gasps.
Astarion gives her a light kiss. “I’d hoped you’d like it,” he says. Then, again, “ Deliciae .”
“Oh,” she says, her thighs shaking on either side of him as another vibration pulses through her. “Oh, dearest . Again.”
He's happy to comply, kissing her between her gasps and mewls, repeating the command word in a sultry whisper while he works her with his fingers in the meantime. His own arousal aches where it’s pressed against her hip and he gently grinds it against her for relief, just enough to keep his own head as he watches her break to pieces beneath him.
Tav rolls her head back and opens her mouth in a silent scream as her legs shake, incapable of holding back their shudders as a shivering, powerful peak comes over her under the little toy. It’s familiar but sweeter; her hips rise off the mattress and then slam down as she tips over the other side. Astarion feels her clenching and pulsing, strong and slick, and the entire ordeal is instantly worth it to bear witness to the unraveling. There is no pleasure, no greater high, than knowing he’s the one who brings her to this state. The one who has the privilege. The one she chose.
She blinks back to herself, a moan low in her throat as she tries to clear the spots in her vision. When she meets his eyes again, he’s panting himself, still rolling his hips to get some relief against her side. Her gaze clears as she breaks the surface of her pleasure and she growls, grabbing his face and bringing him down to her mouth, nipping his lower lip between her teeth until he whines from it.
“You liked my gift?” he whispers, breath quickened.
“Oh, yes,” she sighs. “Now let me give you yours.”
Tav’s hand snakes down their bodies to find his fingers and she takes them, slipping the ring off. He’s so dazed with lust that he lets her without thinking about it too much and gladly moves as she rolls them both until he’s the one on his back. Her mouth is so hot on his cooled skin as she places open mouthed kisses everywhere he likes – the space behind his ear, the place where shoulder meets neck, every rib on the way down. She spreads a hand in the center of his chest, over where his heart resides, and presses him into place as she licks down the line between his abdominal muscles.
Astarion’s cock twitches, throbbing against the weight of her body as she continues her path, and she uses her free hand to give him a rewarding squeeze and stroke, running the pad of her thumb over the split underneath the head. She gives his foreskin a little swirl, helping make sure it’s properly drawn down, and he thrusts up into her hand with a pleased murmur.
It’s taken time and significant gentle coaxing to get him to a place where he simply lets go and allows her to lavish him with attention. A lesson he’s forever learning, rewriting centuries of conditioning with care, with passion, with love. He closes his eyes and focuses on her touch, allowing himself the pleasures she’s happy to share with him.
With a slight jolt, he twitches when he feels her warm tongue follow the path of her fingers, rolling circles around the head of him and applying long licks down his length. Her fingers move to his sack, gently rolling his balls in her palm, warming them. She places a knuckle against the spot beneath them, kneading deep but gentle, finding the place that drives him wild.
“You are so good to me,” he sighs as she moves her mouth over his head again. “That’s so good.”
He senses her smile just before she swallows him down, taking his length halfway into her mouth and working him a few times before she pulls off and says, “ Deliciae .”
Astarion’s vision whites out as the knuckle pressing into his perineum sends a hard vibrating pulse through him at the same time she takes his cock in her mouth again. He gives a sharp cry.
“Bleeding hells,” he manages. “I… I…”
She pulls off of him, tears forming at the corners of her eyes, and says it again.
Pleasure upon pleasure crashes over him, lighting up his entire body as he writhes under her touch. She goes slow enough to make it delightfully tortuous, though it would be incredibly easy to push him over the edge in short order. She moves the enchanted ring, experimenting in different places – the base of his cock, the rim of his arse, the crease of his thighs – and each spot brings new sensations.
He’s an absolute mess by the time she draws back and crawls up his body, his hands weakly grasping at her hips as she sits up on her knees, gingerly reaching between her legs to hold his cock in place as she slides down onto it, both of them near sobbing at the sensation.
“I love you,” he manages with what little breath he can hold. “Gods, I love you, I love you.”
“Love you,” she breathes back as she rolls her hips hard against him over and again. “Love this. All of this.”
Tav rides him slowly, firmly, with intention. When they get to a point where they can’t help but pick up speed, grinding one another into oblivion, Tav lifts his shaking hand in hers and takes the ring from her finger so she can slip it back onto his, the movement reverent.
Astarion looks her in the face as he reaches down between them with his fingers spread over the base of his cock where they meet, resting the ring right alongside her oversensitive clit.
“ Deliciae ,” they say together.
They shatter in the same moment, eyes rolling back, crying out to the morning light. The waves of delight roll like the tide outdoors, rising up the shore and receding back to the great unknown.
Tav collapses onto Astarion’s chest and his arms are so very heavy as he lifts them to wrap around her back. They breathe, and pulse, and live. Eventually, he begins tracing soothing patterns along her skin.
He clears his throat. “I take it that’s the inaugural positive review for Gale’s potential toy venture?” he says.
“Oh gods, that’s where…” Tav covers her face with her hands. “Oh gods, I have to go out there and see him.”
Astarion laughs and she laughs with him.

I would like to ask: Are there any Rolan fics you recommend reading? Like ones you really like or always go back to read.
oh boy do i!!! (i do just to be clear)
this list isn't all encompassing because there are a lot of good fics out there for him plus tumblr crashed while i tried to post this so i lost all the work i did and now the list is like half as long as it was so that was really fun!!!!!

Astarion re-learning basic human skills
Another bunch of headcanons 'cause I can
When you finally start living together (doesn’t matter where exactly – Baldur’s Gate, Underdark etc) you realize how much of a mess Astarion is. Not only mentally, but also in some common things.
You might have noticed he’s a messy eater from times he fed on you but it’s just the beginning.
Now that he owns a place he doesn’t get bothered with cleaning up.
Of course, Astarion wouldn’t be Astarion if he wasn’t a little bitchy about it.
“Honey, why is there a blood all over your new shirt?”
“I have plenty!”
Also, you get a job if not to get money (I bet you have A LOT from the adventure) then at least to help people/fulfil your dream/not to die of boredom…
Which leads to you coming home rather tired and hungry.
To a mess Astarion made throughout the day.
His books are everywhere, an unfinished embroidery, even a painting (unfinished attempt to sketch his memory of you in the sunlight, maybe)! He has just got his life back and living anew, trying to find a purpose, a passion, a hobby. Can you blame him?
But you’re exhausted.
Your limbs are buzzing even from a thought of cleaning up and making a dinner.
Astarion doesn’t initially catch that in your behavior, too excited from seeing you after a day apart. Moreover, you’re clearly upset and go upstairs without saying a word.
He rushes after you, scared he did something wrong and you two… talk.
He apologizes (poor baby with wet cat eyes).
…And the next day you come home catching a smell of some burnt food.
He’s trying his best to make you a meal! But fails critically.
You comfort him and show him how to make some basic soup. He writes it down word-to-word.
(I’m gonna tell you a secret – later on he may hypothetically write Gale a letter asking for a cooking advise, but shhh)
Astarion has a lot to re-learn and that’s alright as long as you’re both patient and understanding to each other :)
(hey, drop in the asks, I don't bite)

Lately, my mind has been filled with Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3(so sorry, my Genshin Impact peeps), and I just thought of another scenario that idk if I'll ever write.
And following my previous post about him, I thought of another somewhat angsty scenario, while yes, it starts happy— it has a sad but fulfilling ending.
TW: Reader gets elderly and mentions death.
Imagine another "good ending" Astarion and Tav/Reader, making a life for themselves in the Underdark. Unfortunately for you... you're not immortal, not like Astarion. You know it's not your place to ask to become like him, and he wouldn't do it for you even if you asked. You see, he doesn't want to curse you with never seeing the sun again or outliving your friends and family. It would be too much for him to bear...
And so he loves you through the years, trying his damnedest to make your life with him worthwhile in the Underdark. But as you start aging, the fine lines starting to crinkle when you smile...you tell him, "You know, I'm getting on in the years, it's okay if you want to leave and start a new life with someone else, someone younger."
And each time he tells you, "Don't be silly, darling. I chose you. I will always choose you"
Soon, your bones begin to creak, your hair now as white as Astarion's, and the fine crinkle of your smile more apparent than ever. Your eyesight begins to fade, and your hearing isn't as well as it used to be, yet Astarion still stays, affectionate as ever. He'll massage away your soreness, draw you long, warm baths, help you bathe, doing anything to make your last remaining years with him easier for you.
And as you lay on your deathbed, awaiting the moment you finally fall into the bliss of death after living a life, you only dreamed of Astarion's cold hand brushes against your forehead. You can barely make out his features anymore, but that familiar glow of his deep ruby eyes never changed— one that was always full of love, and so your voice croaks out, "Thank you for loving me all this time, 'Star," you say affectionately, placing your aged hand atop of his and squeezing it with little strength you had left.
He smiles fondly down at you, his eyes crinkling upwards as he does so, "No," he starts, letting out a soft sigh, not really wanting to accept this reality, "Thank you, for loving me. No...for saving me. From Cazador...from myself. And thank you for teaching me what it was like to love someone...and to be loved. I will never forget you, Y/N, and I hope we'll meet again someday, so I can fall in love all over again."

It Will Come Back

Astarion x F! Tav
(Girl Talk part 2)
18+ implied trauma, talks of death, drinking, possessiveness, feelings developing, vulnerability, blood drinking, sub/dom, gender play, grinding, strap on use, penetration (m!), prostate orgasm, tenderness
Their shared night has been tormenting him, after staking his claim he found himself needing to be near her. And after a night of drinking, seeing her with someone else, he had to have her again...
Part 1
-
He was mid wipe of his bloody mouth but was now frozen on the treeline, her voice shouting out into the night.
Though he knew the Underdark would have been much easier he was grateful that she had chosen the Mountain Pass. He already was able to find plentiful wildlife.
When Halsin had insisted that going underground was the better route he saw her body go rigid. Closing her eyes briefly. Taking a steadying breath out.
"I know the Underdark, its... lethal. We're taking the high ground." Her voice uncharacteristically stern. Tone clear, this was not a discussion.
Karlach had reached out to take her shoulder in a reassuring grip and pulled back at the last second, remembering her heat. A sadness in her eyes.
Now, in the darkness of camp she was bolted upright from her trance. "No!" Hand flying to her chest. Her shout breaking the air.
He stepped forward, uncertain.
But Karlach awoke, sitting up quickly. Coming to her side, kneeling next to her as close as possible without scorching.
"You're okay, love." She reassured. "Just a bad dream."
Tav looked up at her tearfully. Hand still pressed hard to her chest. Rubbing back and forth. "Oh Gods, they're starting again."
Shaking her head, looking deep in Karlach's eyes. As if the sight of her could erase whatever she woke from.
"I get those too, soldier. Some nightmares stick. Miserable things that they are." Reaching for her arm again, pulling away frustrated. "Gods I wish I could touch you."
Tav smiled, sitting up. Leaning towards her. "I want that too. We'll catch Dammon on the way, don't worry."
"You want to talk about your dream?" Karlach asked quietly.
"Not really, but it might help." She sighed.
He suddenly felt like he was intruding, staring down at them. Though he did want to console her he was hopeless at that kind of thing.
She froze for a second, turning her head.
"Ah, what did I tell you about trying to sneak up on me?" She smiled, catching him in her peripheral.
"Apologies, I was just coming back from hunting. I'll head back to my tent, but do carry on." He quipped. Chest tight.
"Actually, I dont mind you staying." She shrugged. "Believe it or not your company is very welcome."
He really considered it, but he had been avoiding her since that night and this was far too intimate.
"I appreciate that, but I'll have to decline. Do tell me if you need any hands on help though. Goodnight, sweet things."
His tent wasn't far and he was glad of it. Moving on light feet and closing the flap behind him. Sitting with his back against the entrance.
Their voices were faint but his keen ears were sharper. Their conversation picking back up after a moment.
"Gods I really thought they had gone away. But that fucking dream visitor..." The venom in her voice surprising him.
"It looked like her. My sister." Low now, he could barely pick it up. "Whatever that thing is it isnt afraid to play dirty."
"I didn't know you had a sister." Karlach's voice soft.
"A twin. We're identical." A tired sigh. "She's dead. Has been for, Gods, at least a decade. Even in my long life I dont know if it'll ever feel real."
"I'm so sorry, love." Karlach's voice low and mournful. Moving into a whisper.
He picked at the seam of his pants, suddenly feeling guilty. Given how self assured she was he hadn't even considered that she might have a troubled past. They all had their weight to bear, it seems.
Sitting still in the morning light he felt at peace. Or as close to peace as he could manage. The sun warming him through.
He soaked it in greedily, making up for 200 years of lost time. If he was a religious man he would pray to the morning god Lathandar, but the Gods weren't worth the praise.
"Morning, Star." She yawned, passing in front of his tent.
He squinted his eyes open, something he regretted immediately.
In the morning light her long red hair glowed, out of it's crown braid falling in cascades down her back. The grey ochre of her skin picking up hues of pink and a smattering of freckles he had never noticed before across her nose. Eyes dark and light in equal measure, the subtle ring of green in the white around her pupil contrasting sharply with her red hair.
She looked like an oil painting come to life.
Realizing he was staring he cast his eyes to the treeline.
Too late, she saw. Of course she did.
She smiled, coming to sit down next to him.
"Hungry?" She asked easily, holding up her wrist. Still rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
He stared at it, the soft flesh, the vein blue underneath. Her long fingers curled back elegantly.
"Before you've had your breakfast? How ravenous do you take me for?"
"Oh my heart, I am such a wilted flower I couldnt possibly stand such trials! Oh watch me wither away before your very eyes!" She held the back of her hand to her forehead, leaning back dramatically.
He smiled, despite himself. "I thought you nobility types were of a softer constitution." Taking her wrist gingerly in his fingers.
"Maybe on the surface. In the Underdark its kill or be killed. If you haven't had an assassination against you by the time you learn to walk you're considered a failure." She laughed, but he wasnt sure if she was exaggerating.
"Well I am a little peckish..." He mused.
He wasn't. He had a full meal last night. But the draw of her blood, being offered so easily. Gods she would be the second death of him.
He brushed his lips against the curve of her wrist, breathing in her scent. Apple, cayenne, vanilla. Gods he could get drunk on it.
He sank in as gentle as he could. Her blood bursting into his mouth. Trying to keep some sense of decorum as their companions milled around them. Resisting the urge to grip down and growl.
Vaguely aware of Shadowheart's disapproving sigh. "In front of my oatmeal?"
"Oh please, I know you'd want this too if you were sanguine." Tav smiled, unfazed. Sending her a sultry look.
He glanced up momentarily, seeing Shadowheart's blush at her flirting. Shooting him a quick cut with her eyes. Turning abruptly back to her bowl.
He felt a proud thrill in his chest. That's right, he was the one buried in her wrist. Suck it Shadowheart.
Tav tapped his forearm twice. "Going a little numb here, handsome."
He pulled off with a quiet gasp. "Apologies, I must have been more hungry that I realized." Lies. Lies upon lies.
Handsome, he turned that word over in his head. He wanted her to call him pretty.
Blinked in shock at his thoughts.
Gods this is why he had been avoiding her. That night had been haunting him. He had tried to push the intense pleasure she had milked out of him into the past. The way she had touched him, soft but commanding.
Her words playing on repeat in his mind in the late hours of the night.
"Such a good girl for me."
"You okay, Star?" Her voice low, squeezing his knee lightly.
He realized he hadn't released her wrist, his fingers still circled around her.
"Sorry darling, I'm a little off this morning." He leaned down and licked her wound closed.
Noticed her hand hadn't left his knee, her thumb rubbing back and forth gently. The touch lighting him, little trails of fire.
"Anything I could do to help?" Her voice going soft again.
Yes.
"No, but thank you for offering, sweet thing."
He patted her thigh good naturedly. "Now go get your breakfast. You've earned it."
"Well as long as I've earned it." She winked at him, rising gracefully to her feet. "See you later, beautiful."
Gods he wanted to kiss her. Hard.
Later in camp the mood was jovial. The day, though grueling, walking, always walking. Had turned out promising, closing in on the temple where the Creche is supposed to be.
Someone had opened a bottle of wine and the air was full of laughter and conversation.
Halsin had gotten out his lute and was strumming happily. Wyll stood and offered her his hand in a flourish. She smiled and took it graciously.
He led her in a light waltz and she followed easily, feet twisting and stepping with a practiced grace.
Astarion watched this from a fallen log and tried to hide the seethe in his face.
Why were they always all over her? Gods it felt like he turned his back and another suitor had stepped into place.
Didnt they know she was his?
He shook his head. He had too much wine. He was being ridiculous. He needed air.
Trudging away towards the water, feeling eyes on his back but he didn't care.
Kneeling down he splashed the water on his face. Get ahold of yourself.
Sitting back on his haunches he sighed, looking up at the night sky.
Her eyes slid over his vision, becoming two new stars.
"Brooding all by yourself?"
He couldn't stand it anymore, pulling her head down by the nape of her neck. Her soft mouth meeting his upside down.
She whimpered in surprise, then relaxed into him. Kissing him back in that soft exploring way he had craved.
He twisted under her, turning to face her. Pulling her down into his lap, wrapping his hand around the back of her head with a growl.
She straddled over him, already pulling at his camp shirt, taking it in a fist full. Moaning softly into his mouth. Allowing his tongue to push hot into her.
"My tent?" She whispered as she pulled away to get a breath, his mouth following, trying to get more.
He nodded, practically sprinting to feet. Taking her hand.
They took the long way around, sneaking into the warm cave of her temporary home.
Gods the air swam with her here. It was overwhelming.
She closed the flap behind them securely. Barely enough time and he was pulling at her clothes. Releasing her shirt from her leggings.
"Gods, Star. What brought this on?" She gasped as he laved his tongue up her neck. Pulling her shirt over her head and throwing it far in the corner.
"I cant stop thinking about it." He moaned, undoing the ties on her trousers with one hand. Falling to knees and yanking them down.
Looking up at her through his lashes. "Please touch me like that again."
She smiled, kneeling down to him. Gloriously naked, she reached up to the pins in her hair and released it. Falling behind her shoulders in a carmine wave. So beautiful it made his chest hurt.
He caught sight of a straight scar over her heart, ran his fingers softly over it.
She leaned forward, fingers stroking his cheek softly. Sliding her mouth against his warmly. "I've been thinking about it too."
Pulling his shirt free, angling over his shoulders. "You were so beautiful that night."
He moaned into her mouth as she came back to him. Already painfully aroused.
She pushed him back gently, trailing hot kisses along his neck. Untying his leathers with sure fingers. Pulling them down just far enough that his cock could spring free. Already dripping precum.
She leaned into him, sliding the hollow of her hip against his length. Rocking back and forth slowly. Leg straddled around his thigh he could feel her wetness. Her mouth on his neck so softly kissing and biting.
The pressure of her hip was so good. His head fell back, giving her more room to find him. Her fingers coming up to softly drag along his nipple. The pads teasing back and forth.
She began grinding down on him, her breath catching. Hip sliding harder into his cock.
"Please, more." He moaned.
She leaned back and spat a long trail of saliva on his cock. Pushing into him with her hip again. Looking deep in his eyes.
Oh Gods that almost sent him over.
She pinched and rolled his nipple in her hand. Wetting her fingers obscenely. Bringing them back down.
He whined, arching his chest. Pushing his hips up into her. So close.
"You know, I think your ready." She purred, her hands gone.
He opened his eyes to see her reaching for something. Leaving him to reach inside a chest.
She held up a harness with a faux cock attached. His eyes went wide.
Oh Gods, yes. He pulled off his leathers with haste.
He helped her get it on her hips, pulling down the buckles and straps. She wet it with the slick from her cunt, pumping down it.
"Come here to me." She whispered, sliding onto her back.
He straddled over her, heart racing.
Coming down to kiss at her chest, sliding one of her peaks into his mouth. Reveled in the little moan that left her.
She held the length steady for him as he slowly lowered down. His eyes rolling into the back of his head.
"Take what you need. I want to see it." She murmured into his hair.
Sitting flush to her he felt the stretch inside him. Already so full. His body gripping down eagerly.
He began his ride, lifting his hips and rolling back down. His breath a strained gasping already. Gods it was heaven.
He looked down at her and saw how her hips rocked into him, gripping his thighs. Her face flushed, eyes half lidded.
"So lovely, taking my cock like that." She smiled. Angling her hips just hard enough to hit the spot that undid him.
He lurched forward, bracing himself next to her head. An indignant whine leaving him. He cant be this close already.
She held his hips in place and fucked up into him. His body already starting to shudder in warning. She had found his prostate again and was slamming into it over and over.
"Please, please," He mewled, for what he wasn't sure. Seeing stars already.
She craned her neck up and caught his nipple in her mouth. Suckling down viciously with a delighted hum.
His while body jolted and he screwed his eyes shut. Oh Gods he didn't know if he could take it.
His pelvis contracted like a fist, the first waves hitting him. His mouth fell open in a silent scream. A bone deep shuddering ripping through him. The waves pummeling him in tortuous rapture. He white knuckled around her thigh. It was all he could do not to cry out. His spend spilling hot onto her belly in gushes.
She pulled him into her chest with hushed assurances as he sobbed quietly. A sudden rush of emotion overcoming him. Gripping onto the back of her neck.
"You're okay, you're okay." She whispered into the curl of his hair. Her legs crossing behind his back, nuzzling down into his shoulder. "You did so good."
That made him sob harder, burying his face in her hair. Holding onto her like a life raft in a storm.
"You're safe, you're here."
Laying awake, staring at the roof of his tent his mind raced.
He could lie to himself, say it was just the wine, the long road, his hunger, that had driven him to her arms.
He was a good liar but not that good.
Sighing he turned on his side.
What a fool he was. Falling for his mark. A simple plan shattered into a million pieces at her feet.
She had entranced him body and soul.
He bit back a small smile, his dead heart racing in light and fear.
Tomorrow. He would tell her tomorrow.
