please NOT KIT'S BI ASS FINALLY CONNECTING DOTS AND ASKING JEM ABOUT WILL WHILE THINKING ABOUT HIMSELF AND TY WHOM HE MISSES IN A SAD GAY WAY AND IS VERY MUCH AWARE OF IT. Kit constantly heard the way Jem talked about Will and finally was like "WOAH WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE WTF THIS ACTUALLY FEELS SO FAMILIAR? THE CLOSET IS GLASS DUDE. SPILL THE TEA". and the fact that JEM DID NOT DISSAPOINT AT ALL. he basically went "oh so it IS not platonic with you two too. ok i will not call you out like that but BLESS YOU MY BI CHILD, YOU'RE SO VALID AND YOU'RE NOT ALONE"
I actually like TDA much more than TID, I relate to the characters a lot more, i think the plot is more interesting and I re-read it every couple months, but i've only read TID twice and i'm fine with it.
(also i like Will Herondale, i think he's funny and i'm sad he died but he's not my fav Herondale)
+ the Blackthorns are my fav family, i LOVE Emma, and i love Jem, Kit is introduced, Ash is also introduced, i really like all the relationships developing (blackstairs, Kierarktina, KiTty) and the other characters making an appearance, i love it, KIT AND JACE PLEASE, MALEC AND THEIR KIDS.
Remember when Kit thought he saw Ty in the Shadow market, but it was only someone similar looking? And even Jem saw his heartbreak at that moment? And what if Kit sees Ty in every black hair, every grey eyes, every pair of headphones?
There is something so mortifyingly autistic about the fic I am currently writing
However, if you are in the market for a fic about Ty writing a paper on the impact of Christopher Lightwood which features pining for another Christopher, general academia, and the soul-destroying task of finding research papers for things that went undocumented at the time, I have fantastic news for you.
I was rereading sobh because I remembered we had some letters written by Ty. Which, like the gold it was, I had to reread so I could get a better understanding on his voice.
And of course I ended up reading more than I intended. Specifically, I read Emma catching Ty speak to Livvy's ghost (tho she didn't know it was Livvy). And now I can't help but think that everyone is going to think Ty is secretly dating someone when he's really not. Like maybe Kit having a secret girlfriend was a clue to the drama of Kit thinking Ty has a girlfriend or boyfriend.
Just imagine that within the first two or three chapters of The Last King of Faerie Kit hears Emma or Julian mention this and freaks out. And because he's bad at communicating (Dru said it, not me) during the whole book, Kit is angsting over Ty being in a relationship. (Except he isn't. It's all a big misunderstanding. Which seems to be the theme of KitTy tbh 🤔)
