he has made it to six games without a penalty, which is tied for his longest streak this season! NOT ONLY THIS, he also scored tonight’s opening goal against the blue jackets!

the ducks won 7-4 tonight, which is the highest amount of goals they’ve scored this season! this team played beautiful tonight, and i could not be more proud🧡

“Ooh, still you take up all my mind, I don't even think that you care like I do. I should stop, heaven knows I've tried”

Jamie Drysdale was beautiful in all senses of the word.

He was warm, like a familiar feeling of comfort that Y/n longed for. Her love for him was obsessive and full of adoration, Jamie was something she believed she could never get enough of, like a drug of choice. She felt as if she had loved him a thousand times over, in past lives, in different universes, in some sort of spiritual way that didn't seem humanly possible. Y/n was deeply and incandescently in love with him.

But what hurt most was knowing that not a sliver of him felt an inch of feelings for her than she felt for him.

Y/n sat at the other end of the bar, the corset of her Juliet costume was constricting her breathing as she sighed at the sight of Jamie, her Romeo, on the other end of the bar talking to some girl in a Barbie costume.

Her cheeks were warm from the gin in her glass, a sad smile rested on her face as she stirred the ice around in her cup. A grinning Mason approached the table to pull her out of her hopeless romantic trance, a fresh gin in tonic in his hands for her as he set it down and slid it in front of her.

“You look cute,” he reached out and ran his fingertips over the soft feathers of her angel wings as she smiled at the compliment. “Thanks Mase.” “No problem doll,” he flirted as her hand limply smacked him in the chest, a laugh leaving his lips at her scowl.

“Where are your roommates?” he asked as he followed her line of vision to the bar where Jamie stood, nursing his beer, still with the pretty blonde, “I see.” “You see nothing,” she stopped her staring and glared at him as she took a sip of her drink, “I think Trevor went to the bathroom, I'm sure he'll be back any second now,” she added as her eyes searched the room for Jamie once again.

Jamie was looking at her as he finally broke off from the conversation with the random girl and was set on getting back to his table, with his y/n. His face was flushed from the awkward conversation at the bar, and his eyes were heavy from the alcohol as he grinned at Mason who moved out of the way so he could take back his original seat, right next to Y/n.

“Jimbo!! You're back, and looking a little flustered there bud,” Trevor rejoined the group with a big grin smeared across his face as his arm wrapped around Mason's shoulders, sending a wink to Jamie who rolled his eyes and slid into the booth beside Y/n.

Her face now grew warm at the brush of his shoulder against hers, all while he was actively trying to ignore how the soft skin of her exposed thigh pressed up against his. Her fingers played with the lace garters that sat prettily on her upper thigh, using all of his willpower to fight off the urge of placing his hand on her thigh and gently squeezing her silk-like skin.

"The girl at the bar was really pretty," she whispered to Jamie as he shrugged, her focus moving from the lacy material between her fingers to the boy who was staring down at her hands and then back up at her eyes. "Pretty? Sure," he mumbled as his eyes raked over her face, unable to read her expression. She nodded, "she was beautiful, you should've asked her out," she mumbled as she sipped on her drink to busy herself and stop herself from talking anymore.

Mason looked at Trevor who was shaking his head at the growing tension between the two, a quiet "Jesus Christ," leaving Mason's mouth as he watched Jamie and the girl sit in awkward tension.

“One day, I will stop falling in love with you, someday, someone will like me like I like you. Until then, I'll drink my coffee, eat my pie, pretend that we are more than friends. Then of course I'll let you break my heart again”

Trevor has a contagious laugh, it was just a known fact, but Trevor also has one of the loudest laughs on this planet.

A giggle ripped from his throat as he attempted to sneak his date through the back door and up the stairs to his room without being caught by his roommates. His infamous laugh was a clear giveaway of his mischief as both Jamie and Y/n peered around the corner of the hall and up the stairs to where a clearly drunk Trevor and his date were tiptoeing to his room.

"You realize you're an adult right Z?" the girl yelled out as Trevor stuck his head over the railing to see an amused Y/n leaning up against Jamie who was equally as entertained. "It's a lot less fun when I can openly have girls over," he responded with a grin as the random girl waved shyly at the top of the stairs. "You're 22 Trev, we can't ground you," Jamie added as Trevor rolled his eyes. "I'm healing my inner child, I was a billet kid, I couldn't have girls over!" he slurred as he threw his date over his shoulder and charged towards his bedroom.

Y/n laughed at the stupidity of the man upstairs and looked at Jamie who grinned back, "he's such an idiot," Jamie mused as they found their spots back on the couch under the shared blanket that draped over the both of them as Y/n unpaused the remainder of the 'Too Hot to Handle' episode that they started before they were rudely interrupted.

"I need to get laid," the girl mumbled out of nowhere as she heard the loud giggling coming from upstairs. Jamie nearly choked on his spit as she laughed at the panic in his eyes, "sorry," he cleared his throat, "you threw me off there for a second," he said as she smiled at his awkward demeanour.

Both of their faces went serious for a second before both of them broke out into a fit of laughter, "I'm serious though, I haven't been with anyone in over a year," she pouted, "it's frustrating," she whined as she leaned up against Jamie and continued to stare at the tv, "makes me feels undesirable." "You could never be undesirable," Jamie whispered causing her to tense, his breath brushing against her shoulder as she turned to look at him, her eyes softening, waiting for something that could resemble a confession of sorts.

Jamie grew nervous under her stare, his eyes screwing shut as he searched for a way to cover up his mishap, "I mean- uh, I'm sure many guys are lined up waiting for a chance with you." "Yeah, I guess," she mumbled and turned her attention back to the screen, ripping her attention away from him and trying to focus it anywhere else in the world.

"I'll find love eventually, just waiting for the right person." "Of course you will, what's not to love?"

A lot apparently, she thought to herself as she felt a wave of nausea pass through her.

“I'm just tryna understand, what I am to you, More than songs we've exchanged, midnight calls, sunset views”

"Trevor, do I look cute?" the girl walked into the living room in a midi skirt and a sweater, an awkward smile on her lips as Trevor examined her outfit. Her entrance caught Jamie's attention as he sat up on the couch and watched her do a little spin, his stomach feeling something that resembled butterflies as she grinned and looked at him

"Shouldn't you try to look hot? Not cute?" he asked as she shook her head. "No this guy is sweet, not douchey, I have to look like a wife, not like a one-night stand," she stated as Trevor pondered and then nodded his head. "You fit the part."

Jamie's brows furrowed as looked between the two "Who is the guy?" "Terry is trying to set her up with one of the equipment managers," Trevor grinned as Jamie nodded curtly as she left the room, an unknown feeling building up in his chest as he got up off of the couch and made his way to her room.

"Oh perfect!" she held out a tiny gold chain, "can you help me get this on, my nails are too long?" she asked politely as the chain lay in his palm, lifting her air to expose her neck and allow him to put it on her. she watched his concentration in the mirror, his breath on the back of her neck as he finally got the clasp closed, "thank you," she mumbled, letting go of her curls and moving her hands to flatten out the bunched-up material of her skirt.

"Should I change?" she asked, tucking her hair behind her ears to look Jamie in the eyes, to be met with a boy who looked on the verge of crisis. "You look perfect," he mumbled, watching as her face lit up. "You think?" he nodded as she readjusted the ring on her finger, "thank you," she said brushing past him to see the notification that popped up on her screen.

A sound of excitement left her mouth as she texted the person back and looked up at Jamie, "he's here," she grinned as she searched her closet for her purse and jacket.

Jamie stood there for a second, watching as she scrambled around to leave, a grin on her face as she looked at the boy standing in the middle of her room in shambles. "Don't go," he mumbled, finally looking her in the eyes as she stopped her frantic hurrying and stared at him with confusion. her heartbeat picked up, "What? Why?" she needed him to say it again, to solidify that he said exactly what she hoped he had.

Jamie screwed his eyes shut and shook his head, "Never mind," he watched as the look of hope diminished from her features and she just nodded at the boy, "Have a good night, fingers crossed he's a good one," he said as she just stared for a moment longer. "Thanks," she whispered and left her room as quickly as possible, not wanting to keep her date waiting and especially not wanting to be in that interaction any longer.

“Promise I don't mean to cry, but I get overwhelmed and confused. If only you knew, what I felt like”

“He’s so confusing,” she groaned as she flopped down on Trevor’s bed.

An amused grin sat on the boy's face as she looked up to see him staring smugly, “Why are you looking at me like that?” “Cause you and Jimmy are so fucking dumb, it’s paining me to watch it all unfold,” he raised his brows and shook his head as she rolled over and sat up to be face-to-face with him.

“He doesn't like me like that z, if he did, he'd do something about it,” she sighed as Trevor let out a groan of pain and buried his face in his hands.

Jamie found his way into the door frame, feeling the tension in the room hit him as he looked between Trevor and the girl sitting on the edge of the bed with a frown on her face. “What's wrong?” he asked, making his way over to the girl and sitting down beside her, shoulder brushing up against his. Her frown deepened as he pulled her out of thought, “just a bad date,” she lied and looked at Jamie for some sort of reaction. Instead was met with nothing but a curt nod and a quiet, “You'll get him next time," and a soft pat of the shoulder.

The girl's lips formed a straight line as she sadly smiled, the tears now beginning as she watched him look anywhere else in the room but in her direction. “Thanks, Jimmy,” she faked a smile, wiping away any remnants of tears before leaving the room, needing to be as far away from him as possible.

A groan left Trevor's lips as he watched it all unfold, “Jesus,” he mumbled as he swivelled in his desk chair and smacked his head off of the desk. “What did I do?” “It's what you didn't do Jimbo,” Trevor said with his face still pushed down into the desk, “it's so painful to watch.”

She sat on the curb outside of the restaurant where she was supposed to meet her date, the same guy from a few weeks prior who invited her out for a drink just to ghost her at the last minute. A frown appeared on her face as Trevor declined her a second time, her last resort was Jamie, seeing as she was too embarrassed and too emotion-riddled to order herself another Uber.

The phone rang once before he picked it up, “everything okay, this guy not giving you a hard time or anything?” Jamie sounded concerned at the other end of the call. “He didn't show up,” she sniffled as her hand ran down her face, “can you please come and get me?” “Of course,” he whispered as she let out a shaky breath and told him the address before hanging up to sit with her thoughts for a second.

Jamie’s Jeep pulled up in front of the restaurant, and he hopped up out of the driver's seat to help her to her feet. The drive back was tense, she stared quietly out the window as the soft sound of country music played over the radio.

“Thank you for coming to get me,” she mumbled and looked to Jamie who was shaking his head. “When you call, I will always answer.” A groan left her lips as the palms of her hands dug into her eyes, “you can't just say things like that Jamie”

“Why can't I?”

She looked at him shrugged and went back to looking out the window, “Never mind.” "Why can't I Y/n?" her brows furrowed as she watched the car slow down and begin to pull over to the side of the road, she looked back at him to see him staring right back at her. "Because you are confusing, and I always think it means something different, and then I get my heart broken all over again," she sighed as his face softened.

"I meant it that way, I don't know how much more clear I could've made it," he mumbled as her brows now furrowed. "then say it, please," she whispered, her hands wiping away the stream of tears as Jamie grabbed her by the hands to get her full attention. "I want you, and I've only ever wanted you," he mumbled, barely even getting to finish his sentence before her lips smashed into his.

A messy mixture of love and lust danced on their lips as her hand found his hair, nose nudging his as he laughed at the desperation that filled both of them.

"I've been waiting to do that forever," she whispered as her forehead leant up against his. Jamie smiled sweetly as his thumb ran over her swollen bottom lip, "yeah?" he asked breathlessly as she leaned in again for a quick peck on the lips.

"Don't break my heart again, please," she whispered as his hands cupped the plump and warm skin of her rosy cheeks. His head shaking, "wouldn't dream of it," he whispered before kissing her once again.
