There's a technology abuse epidemic among our children and I refuse to allow that with my future babies.

It's horrible to me how well acquainted with social media and pop culture eight year olds are these days! It's shocking! Technology is supposed to be a tool, not an addiction and not a substitute for parenting.

Their brain development is being harmed, they're being exposed to all the disgusting stuff available out there, and they're picking up bad values and horrid manners!

I will not be teaching my children that technology is a wonderful thing. A screen is a tool.

Go play outside, play with a pet or sibling, run in the rain, read books, help me cook and make a mess of the kitchen, roughhouse with your father, something! Be a child! One day they might have to be on a screen every day, perhaps for work or for school, I'm not going to plop them in front of one prematurely.

Children deserve better. They're so precious. They deserve clean food, fresh air, knowledge, innocence, and a fighting chance at a healthy, well-rounded development.
