#tortilla chips and guac
Text
haven't been able to cook something rlly good or eat my favorite foods in the way that I like them recently and it's doing horrors for my mental health. I would honestly settle for Kraft mac n cheese and dino nuggies rn (I don't like Kraft brand mac n cheese and much prefer homemade but that's ridiculously expensive and dino nuggies are fine I guess but I prefer something crisper like popcorn chicken or McDonald's nuggets)

Min I keep having visions of math story problems in school but they have pronouns in it and if you don't gender the characters correctly you fail automatically
Rowan, Kai, Dave, Soup and Salad are having dinner at a mexican restaurant. Rowan orders the fajitas, Kai orders a fajitas with chips and guac, Salad orders the soup, Soup ordered a plate of tacos with a side salad, and Dave has what the person using they/them ordered and no side.
Salad loves margaritas and talked the table into splitting a pitcher but the person who uses it/its doesn't like alcohol and someone who uses they/them got their own drink.
The person using she/her split the chips with one of two people who use he/him
Soup agreed to pay for dessert and does not use they/them.
The receipt was as follows
FLAN (4) .... $42.00
MARGARITA PTCH .... $40.50
FAJITAS (2) ..... $38.00
TACOS POLLOS (2) .... $35.00
TORTILLA SOUP .... $12.50
MOJITO .... $10.00
GUACAMOLE .... $9.00
SIDE SALAD .... $7.00
CHIPS .... $2.00
Tax was 7.9%. Rowan put the order on her card and tipped 25%.
If everyone pays back Rowan such that each of them only pays for what they ate or drank aside from what was already agreed upon, how much will everyone end up paying and what are everyone's pronouns? Round to the nearest dollar.

what kind of snacks do you think aaron eats? like it’s probably different at the office / in the field / at home / working out don’t you think?
omg i completely agree!!!!!! <3 tw food
in the office, more often than not, it's whatever the bullpen's kitchenette has to offer - granola bars, assorted fruits, things like that. but since they're on the bland side, he mainly relies on snacks he brings from home, or he does have a box of microwave popcorn stored in one of his office cupboards. i also like to think - eventually he does have a drawer solely for snacks, for jack and any other kiddos when they visit 🥹
speaking of, at home: more homemade, healthy snacks. he's big on celery and peanut butter - getting a vegetable in, as well as the nutrients peanut butter provides. aaron's totallyyyyyy guilty of picking through jack's snacks too - goldfish crackers, fruit roll ups, fruit snacks. he's not a fan of chips - either too salty or greasy. but they are in the house because jack likes them/they'll go in his lunch every so often. however, aaron loves tortilla chips and guac/salsa 🫶🏻 big fan of hummus and pita too!!!
in the field, uncrustables. they're easy, he stores them in his briefcase, and it's something that can act as either a quick snack or a small lunch. it's good on the go too - for example, if he needs to go interview a witness or to a crime scene, he'll eat one en route in the car. he doesn't mind the strawberry jelly ones, but prefers grape
as for working out - smoothies (pb and banana, strawberry and banana), greek yogurt with granola, protein shakes, lots of water. he'll drink chocolate milk occasionally too 🫶🏻
and before you - aaron considered coffee a snack 😭 but you were quick to veto that - you were like yeah absolutely not you need something on your stomach and coffee does not cut it 😭

new food rules for me<3
i think if i can make a list of foods to allow myself to eat and really avoid everything else, it’ll be a lot easier for me to keep it up so!!
can eat whenever:
-strawberries
-pickles
-water, gum
ALWAYS avoid:
liquid calories of any kind
diet sodas / anything carbonated (low/no cal but cause bloating and still bad for you)
ice cream (i don’t enjoy it very much, but once i have a little it’s hard to stop myself. i especially hate vanilla flavoring and creamy things, i just don’t feel well after)
dairy in general tbh
pasta, mac and cheese, pizza (i really don’t enjoy it very much but i try to enjoy it and overeat because i like the feeling, i always regret it and feel sick. there are just better options tbh)
fine, in limitation:
corn flakes or other low cal cereal (like 300kcal for a whole bowl, but it’s so easy to overeat)
french bread (when it’s fresh it’s very hard to avoid, high calorie so i’d rather just chew and spit a piece until i get grossed out than cut it out completely)
chocolate (hard for me to avoid when it’s in front of me, i just try to take very small pieces at a time and then wrap up the leftovers... even if i come back for it ((let’s be honest, i definitely will)), i can at least space it out a bit)
fast food (examples below) (if i stop myself completely, i’ll just end up giving up and binging/ ordering waaay too much when i finally go back to it tbh. i’m trying to keep it minimal/ maybe once a week or every other week.)
fast food go-to’s:
mcdonalds: 10piece chicken nugget, medium fry: 460 + 350 = 810 kcal
kfc: small popcorn chicken, small fries: 362 + 260 = 622 kcal (i’m uncertain about the sizing and found different results on calories... but i’m going to count this anyway because i NEVER end up finishing the chicken and i throw away like half of it)
starbucks: two bacon gouda sandwiches: 370 + 370 = 740 kcal (trying to avoid liquid calories so no drink)
chipotle: build your own taco/burrito kit (yes, the one for kids haha) with flour tortillas, white rice, shredded cheese, and guac: estimated 1000kcal (i’m unsure because the amounts are difficult.... probably a little less because i can never finish it all but i do also get chips. no drink)
NOTE: if i’m really craving something, the best thing to do is eat some of it along with fresh fruit (i.e. cheetos, bread) or in the case of fast food, to try to order the smallest version of the meal you want (i.e. 4pc nugget and sharing a small fry, or just eating a bite of everything and then throwing it away) so you can’t go back and get seconds afterwards. instead of refusing to eat what you really want to and binging on crap later, i think it’s easier to give in a little and then make up for it later. plus, i’ve noticed that most of the foods i crave taste so much better in my head... when you eat it and are disappointed, it’s less appetizing in the future

new taco bell order review
NEW loaded Beef nachos- 9/10 these we're great. Only 3 dollars too. A bit skimpy on the ingredients however so the last few chips only have a little cheese or sour cream on them. comes with guac tho
NEW double stacked taco: 4/10 feels like im trying to get extra calories in. A nightmare of a soggy crunchy taco, a cold tortilla, and inside is more soggy crunchy taco strips. Also comes with nacho cheese. Just kinda a mess of textures really
Cinnabons- 2/10 oh how you've fallen from grace. Mostly my fault because turns out they fry them at the beginning of the day and they're just left to sit out after that. like most accepted menu items they dont see the same care as when they we're first introduced and these poor bastards took the front of it
Baja Blast- FUCKING BAJA BLASTTTTRT BABAYYYYYYYYYYYDBDJDJDKDJDJDBEFIFBFJFJ
10/10

vegan nachos!
When I’m having a bad chronic pain day but I don’t have any pre-prepped meals in the fridge, vegan nachos are my go-to for something that is filling, nutritious, and doesn’t require much effort. It’s all about that layering! Everything comes from a jar or packet, no chopping required.
My nacho layers are:
“Mexican” rice from a pouch: yes, one of those 90 second rice pouches! I just get whatever’s cheapest. Some of the alleged Mexican flavours have beans in them too — extra protein! Heating the rice up will separate the grains, which will make it easier to spread a thin layer on the bottom of your baking dish.
Tortilla chips: I prefer yellow corn plain/salted/original tortilla strips. Strips layer a bit better than rounds or triangles, I find! Just a single layer will do ✌️
Salsa: a chunky tomato salsa of your preferred heat level is the best! For this one, I dolloped a chunky salsa around and then drizzled a mesquite sauce over it as well.
Vegan cheese: smoked vegan cheese is the best for this! I just go for whatever’s cheapest usually. If you’re particularly struggling, pre-shredded vegan cheese is obviously an option!
Vegan sour cream dip: I’ll usually get whatever sour cream-ish dip I can find that has corn or something added, and just dollop it randomly.
Jalapeños: pickled jalapeños from a jar, as many as I feel like!
And then layer it all again! I’ll put it in the oven at around 190C for 20mins-ish, or until the top is browned. Vegan cheese doesn’t typically melt the same as dairy cheese, so I just look out for crispiness. The sour cream dip is what gives the gooeyness 👏
After it comes out of the oven, I’ll garnish with coriander and chives (or spring onions if I’ve got them and feel up to chopping!) and just dig in with a fork once it has cooled a bit 😂 I usually get two meals out of one dish, and it’s still good when cold!
I try to stay stocked on these ingredients so I’m always ready to go if need be! And because things are in jars and packets, they’ll make a few batches. If I have it, I also dollop some guac over the top when it comes out of the oven.
And obviously, if you’re not vegan, dairy cheese and dip will work just the same! I’d still recommend a smoked cheese though, for extra flavour.
I made these ones when I had my last flare up, served them with a no-alc mojito, and felt a lot emotionally better even though my body was betraying me 🖤
