How To Make Tteokbokki Recipe
Tteokbokki, a cherished Korean street food, has gained global acclaim for its irresistible combination of chewy rice cakes drenched in a spicy and sweet gochujang-based sauce. This iconic dish is not only a favourite among Koreans but has also found its way into the hearts and kitchens of food enthusiasts worldwide. In this article, we will explore the essence of Tteokbokki, including what makes it a culinary sensation, the essential ingredients that bring it to life, a step-by-step guide on how to make it at home, and some quick tips to perfect this delectable treat.
What is Tteokbokki?
Tteokbokki, pronounced "duck-bo-key," is a popular Korean street food made primarily with Garaetteok, cylindrical rice cakes. These rice cakes are cooked in a savoury and spicy sauce, typically featuring gochujang (Korean red chilli paste) as a key ingredient. The dish's vibrant red hue and distinct sweet-spicy flavour make it instantly recognizable. Tteokbokki's origins can be traced back to the Joseon Dynasty, where it was initially enjoyed as a royal court dish before making its way to the streets and becoming a staple in Korean cuisine.

Psa if you are buying instant food (ramen, toppoki, etc) and have a low spice tolerance:
Tumblr media
She will hurt you. She will hurt you in ways you didn't think possible. Don't underestimate the degree to which she does not give a fuck about your spice tolerance. "Oh but it doesn't say 2x spicy it's fine" no it's not. You will cry. Okay?

Tiba-tiba K3 mart
Sebelom jenguk sepupuku yg dirawat, bapak pgn ke salah 1 wishlist jajanannya (bukan aku ya, pure bapak inimah haha). Mumpung deket dari gramed dan padahal udah maksi sementung dirumah ttp yee pgn jajan weh. Yaudah kesana melipir dulu. Di paskal jg ada tp tiap kita kesana selalu msh pagi dan belom kepengen gt loh.
Suasananya. Bingung milih yg mana~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harga2nya emg agak pricey yah skedar mie2an doang, oden, toppokinya harganya std sama kek lawson gt kan.
Self service. Ini yg kita order
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oiya itu minuman rekomen mbaknya, korean apaya namany lupa. Enaak! Cuma esbatunya kebanyakan jadi minumannya dikit bgt, haaa serba price dan kopet deh wkwk. Ngga lupa mineral wota dong yaa. Toppokinya enak ko, ramyeon bapak enak jugaa. Eh itu belom pake tambahan topping yg kaya serutan wortel, cengek domba, bawang daun trus apalagi sikk bala bgt lah pokonya.
Tempat duduknya. Dessert mochi grape, enak!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oiya di gramed ternyata msh ada diskonan buku, penuh bgt tp knp selalu inget anak pgn aja beliin buku, tp mau ke tmpt checker buat ngecek harga aja meni ngantri ahhhh.. Jadi dpt 1 aja bukunya, aku milih buku edukatif deh dibanding story book nanti aja itumah. Mudah2an msh panjang eventnya deh. Meanwhile ayah dan anak di lantai 2 main playdoh wkwk.
Sayang anak~ sayang anak~

**Please do not repost without credit** [TRANS] 2022.06.30 SONE NOTE LIVE vol 38 with Sunny
Staff: We had you create a party room with decorations this time! Please share what room decorations you were particular about and what was difficult.
Sunny: I thought the point of a party was showiness, and decorated the room fancy and to create a fun mood, as well as cutely and to my liking. I especially used balloons to try to bring out the showiness! There weren't any difficulties, but I guess putting balloons in high places was a little hard (laughs). But it was fun.
Staff: You also tried making flower boxes! What was the theme and image for your piece?
Sunny: I tried to include as many different flowers as possible. All the flowers that were provided were cute and there wasn’t a single one that I thought was fine to leave out. I wanted the fans to fully enjoy such pretty flowers and tried to tightly pack them in with no gaps.
There’s actually one more that I made for myself, but I concentrated really hard while making the one for SONE JAPAN as I “have to give them something cute!” However, for some reason I didn’t try as hard for my own box (laughs). It’s kind of lousy (laughs).
Staff: You arranged various flowers in the flower boxes! If you were to compare SONE JAPAN to a flower, what would they be? Please share why as well.
Sunny: Pink roses. The SONE color is pink and I can’t compare them to any other flower!
Staff: Please share what parts you were particular about and your favorite points for the flower box.
Sunny: I made it thinking about the harmony of colors, so I don’t have a single part to point out. I guess the overall harmony was my favorite part. It wasn’t very difficult and it was very enjoyable♪
Actually, I learned a type of ikebana called tachibana with a senior I knew before. It had a different feel than using dried flowers, and balance and harmony were important. It might be because I learned a few things from that, but I enjoyed today! Among today’s materials were these round berries and they were so cute that I put a few in the box. I personally like it a lot as I was able to express it well in the box.
Also, hydrangeas seem like flowers that are not well suited for ikebana, but they played a role in making the outer part not so dull, which was surprising. I think today’s piece would score 90 points out of 100! I leave the remaining 10 points up to the fans (laughs).
Staff: This project’s concept was a party by the members to commemorate their 15th anniversary. If you were to host your party, what kind of party would you like to have? Also, who would you invite?
Sunny: I’d like to have a party with the concept of having a meal with all the fans. Recently, isn’t it hard to get together and have a meal? Therefore, I really would like to have a party to eat with the fans and talk about various things.
As for parties with members, since my birthday and Yoona’s birthday are both in May, it seems like there’ll be a party for both of our birthdays. The dress code can be pink to represent SNSD!
Staff: Please share your recent happenings.
Sunny: As it’s our 15 anniversary, we have been preparing for it while wondering how to convey our gratitude to SNSD fans. As we have been loved for 15 years, we worry and think a lot about what we should do to make the fans happy.
Staff: This SONE NOTE LIVE will be released in June. It rains a lot in June so it’s hard to go outside, but how do you usually spend your time during rainy days?
Sunny: I don’t usually go outside during rainy days. I like to be at home, looking at the rainy view while listening to music, and get lost in my thoughts. I don’t really like going out in the rain, but I love viewing sceneries with the rain falling! Watching the rain while eating something delicious is also good, too. Something like toppoki. It’s gotta be toppoki on a rainy day, right? (laughs)
Staff: SNSD will celebrate their 15th anniversary this year! Please share any memorable episodes when thinking back on your debut!
Sunny: I remember the big events with the fans, such as our first concert and our first tour. All of our concerts and events are precious memories, but I especially still recall the memory of our debut showcase in Japan. The pink penlights that the fans waved when all the lights were off in a pitch black venue come to my mind like a scene in a movie. It was a really emotional moment.
Staff: A message for the members that walked together with you for 15 years, please!
Sunny: I don’t think I could have done it by myself for 15 long years. I’m happy to have done it with you all, and each one of you is a precious person to me. I can’t imagine anyone else but my members.
“Fellow members! Thank you for being with me for so long! And thank you for being by my side even during hard and painful times!”
Staff: A message for SONE JAPAN, please.
Sunny: SONE JAPAN, you have been waiting too long. I also want to see you all soon. The earliest scheduled event is SMTOWN LIVE. It may be difficult for all the members to attend, but a few will go see you all after a long time, so have fun there first. We’re doing our best to prepare for you to see all of us performing and singing together as soon as possible! Please wait for it!

I'm writing this diary as I've thought before going to bed. Because I want to write about lunch I had today🤭 : "Today" lasts until I fall asleep at night, for me. My husband and I went to a Korean restaurant to have lunch, which was highly rated on Google reviews, where we had never been. In conclusion, we have gotten to like the restaurant because all of the dishes we ordered were delicious why I've loved Korean food since I was in my 10s as I love spicy food. -By the way, the Korean food I've eaten most time so far is Shin-ramen, I guess. lol
Speaking of Korean food, I've been thinking I want to try Toppoki made with rice cake long time. I've only eaten one made with flour and the Toppoki I ate today was too.🤔
I'm getting to be sleepy~…I'll go to bed. Good night! 💫

Ask 7, 24, 38 and 54
7. what´s your strangest talent?
When I was in elementary school I learned how to make chicken chick sounds. You know, "peep peep" sound. It was fun doing it in class, everyone went crazy for it.
Also I´m kinda good at guessing the time without looking at the clock.
24: Do you have a collection of anything?
Not really, but I have a lot of books that I havent read and I tried to collect crystals in middle school when they became popular (i have like 10, vey small ones)
38: What´s the weather like right now?
it´s cloudy, pleasantly warm. It kinda wants to be sunny. Supposedly is 28C. I should have a nice walk
54: What´s the last thing you purchased?
I went to 7-Eleven to buy a Samyang Hot Chicken Toppoki. too expensive. Didnt like it. Very spicy but also too sweet? The rice cake itself was good tho
