#to look at once more once we get up tomorrow
Text
Simon grinned at himself through the mirror like a stupid teenager in the changing room as Price, god bless this man and his father figure behavior, tugged on his tie to keep it straight and clean.
Wedding Day had come. His wedding day had come.
“Mate, you must be shakin’ with excitement to marry the pretty face.” Gaz grinned from his spot on the couch, all three of them dressed in their best attire. Even Soap hadn’t complained once about wearing a tie.
Simon’s mind wandered to you in the other room, he hadn’t seen you since last night, tradition, that’s what they called it.
He hoped you were having a blast, because you had to spend so many days and nights over the wedding plans that he had to get you to the hospital once after you broke down from exhaustion.
“Anyone ever thought big bad ol’ Ghost gets married?” Soap teased as he rummaged through the drawers at the desk. What exactly was he searching? Simon didn’t know or maybe he was too happy to question his best friend’s motives for now, they usually end in chaos and today was meant no chaos.
“I always believed Simon would find the one true love one day.” Price nodded and patted Simon’s chest, telling him he was done with the tie.
“Liar.” Gaz laughed and shook his head. “If you want to know who always believed in you, Lieutenant, that’s me. Ol’ Captain and MacTavish over here said you would die a virgin. We got a bet running for a while.”
Simon wasn’t even surprised or mad, maybe tomorrow, or the week after. But tonight he wanted to be on Cloud Nine and looking through the pink tinted glasses of love. Tonight he would say ‘yes’ to the person he loved the most, the one that kept him alive and sane and put up with his antics.
“I’m getting married.” He smiled at himself in the mirror.
“You’re getting married, son.” Price looked at him, through the mirror, a proud smile hidden under the beard.
A minute later his phone rang, your name and picture on the screen.
“Yes? Everything alright, darling?” Simon asked and looked at Price, worry flashing behind his brown eyes.
“I’m scared, Simon. I… I know this will sound crazy and you probably think I’m mad. But… I wanna run away.” You say, followed by a shaky breath. “But at the same time I don’t wanna run away but stay and marry you. Does it make sense?”
Simon relaxed immediately, you were nervous, as you should be. Just like him.
“How about this then, darling, we run away together until you know what you want.” He grinned and picked up his suit jacket.
Soap and Gaz were gasping at him.
“Let’s run away together and if you still feel like running, we blew off this party. And if not, we come back, say yes to each other tonight and live our happily ever after.”
Gaz asked if he was insane. Soap was looking between Simon and Price, who simply had the time of his life while opening the door for Simon to leave.
“Are you sure… do you… I mean…?” You started to ramble and mutter under your breath.
“Darling… For you I would go through hell and back. I am not complete without you anymore. There was a time before you, sure. But there will be no time after you. Together.” Simon spoke gently and could see through the phone who your cheeks turned pink and tears pricked your eyes. “I’ll be out in two minutes, don’t let me wait.”
(Spoiler, in the end Simon and you got married surrounded by friends and family. Price lost a bet to Laswell because they both know you two and knew you would pull such a stunt. Soap had gained a few more grey hairs than necessary and Gaz was pretty sure this was some kind of punishment, why else would you two pull something like that.)

I agree !
part 1 │ part 2
roommate!james x shy!reader ♡ 733 words
James gets the text just as he arrives home: Are you hungry?
He grins, putting his car in park as he types out a reply.
I’m wounded. We’re coming up on our one-month roommate anniversary, and you still don’t know I’m always hungry?
This makes a grand total of four texts between the two of you. You’d conversed a bit more on Craigslist before agreeing to let James move in with you, but barely. Your radio silence is much like your actual silence, but he’s happy to be making a dent in either.
Your response comes while he’s fishing his keys out of his pocket. Sorry. Want thai?
James laughs, opening the door and toeing off his shoes. He calls in the general direction of your room, “I hope you’re joking about being sorry.”
He’s hoping for maybe a reply via text, so it comes as a pleasant surprise when you appear on the stairs. You move like a ghost; if he put you and Remus in an old manor together, James is half sure it’d qualify as a haunted house.
You’re in your pajamas, which means you must already be done with work for the day. James has noticed this is one of your habits; once you’ve decided you’re staying in the house, your outside clothes hit the hamper and you’re living in fuzzy socks. These ones, standing halfway up the staircase, are blue with white stars. Something about seeing you in full cozy mode makes James’ stomach twinge.
“Do you want Thai?” you ask again, longer and in person. Several decibels quieter than he’d just been.
“Sure.” James gives you a smile, flopping backwards over the arm of the couch. He was going to cook pasta for dinner, but he’s a bit tired anyway and agreeing to the first bonding opportunity you’ve offered him takes precedence. “Do you wanna use my card, or should I pay you after?”
“Don’t.” You wave him off, already typing on your phone. “I’m getting it.”
“Not happening,” James replies. He starts digging in his pocket for his wallet, unearthing a half dozen gum wrappers and a receipt from last March. “But in theory, to what do I owe the honor?”
Your eyes flit to him, something like accusation in them. James feels his eyebrows lift. “I know you don’t have that many leftovers,” you say.
So, you’re onto him. “I cook a lot,” he replies with a shrug. “If there’s extra, someone should eat it.”
“But why not you?”
“Why not you?” he counters.
You look suspiciously as though you might be biting down on a smile. A real one. “The point is, I owe you at least a meal. Do you want to see the menu?”
“Sure, thanks.” He reaches out a hand. You come down the stairs to give him your phone, but once it’s in his hand your eyes narrow mistrustfully, fingers tightening on the device.
“If you try to pay,” you tell him, “I’ll hide the money in your room so you don’t find it until you move out.”
A laugh bubbles up out of him at your serious tone. “We live together, babe. I think I’ll come across it at some point.”
“Not with your room as messy as it is.”
Damn it, you’re right. “Fine.” James holds up his hands in surrender, credit card between his fingers. “But when I make dinner tomorrow, just eat it while it’s hot, yeah? Let’s do away with the pretense.”
You sigh through your nose, sitting down beside him with one leg curled under you. You’re attempting something that’s probably supposed to be a glare. James would hate to have to tell you how unintimidating it is, but he may if you keep it up much longer; it’s almost too adorable to take.
“I appreciate it, but you really don’t need to cook for me,” you say. “I eat plenty when you’re not here.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it.”
“That’s the point, James.” You roll your eyes, looking halfway amused. Shit, the day he actually makes you laugh he’s gonna have to bake a cake. “You’re not here to see it.”
“Do you wanna watch a movie while we eat?” He passes you back your phone, having added his order to your cart. “They’ve just added a slew of new movies to Netflix. Also, for tomorrow, do you prefer pasta or chicken?”

Enchanted - Leah Williamson
Leah Williamson x singer!reader
Tumblr media
summary - You write a song about England's captain after meeting her briefly at an event not expecting her to share your feelings
Last night had gone by in a blur, you hardly remembered anything that happened. Everything except the short conversation you had shared with a certain blonde. You had accidentally bumped into whilst walking around causing her to spill her drink.
After the first glance, you were captivated by her. She was literally the girl you spent your spare time dreaming about after your last relationships had failed drastically. For the last 24 hours she was all you could think about your thoughts consumed by the short conversation you had shared.
Lights, camera, smile. You were walking around the large area, sipping from your third glass of champagne already and you weren't even half way through the event. You were exhausted from your recent concerts at Wembley, you would've much preferred to be at your apartment watching movies and eating junk. But instead you were being forced to smile for too many cameras.
You were contemplating pulling a sickie and getting an uber home but your mindset switched when you felt yourself collide with another body. 'Shit, I'm sorry.' You look up at the girl in front of you who's previously full glass was now all over the ground and their shoes. You were lost for words, she was hands down the most gorgeous girl you had ever laid eyes on. 'I can get you a new pair, if you'd like.' You offer but your voice is hardly a whisper, your hearts heavy beats probably more audible as nerves take over.
'It's fine, I'll probably never wear them again.' She laughs, the blondes laugh is the greatest laugh you've ever heard, you make it your goal for the night to hear it again. 'Have we met before?' She asks, a quizzical look meeting your gaze.
'I think I'd remember meeting someone as pretty as you.' You blurt out, eyes widening and hand slapping over your mouth once you realise what you just said.
She chuckled at your flustering. 'You think I'm pretty?' She teased a small smirk painting her face.
'No! Yes! I mean, please just forget I said anything.' you say shyly looking down at your feet as you went bright red. The cute blonde let out a laugh. Little did she know how cute you really thought she was.
'I'm Leah by the way.' The unfamiliar girl introduced holding her had for you to shake.
'I'm Y/N L/N.' You say back shaking the girls hand watching as her jaw drops.
'No way am I shaking the Y/N L/N's hand.' She said her voice a pitch higher from excitement. 'I feel like the worst person on earth for not recognising you sooner.' you laughed lightly before you were taken out of the moment by another voice calling Leah's name.
'Leah, I've been looking everywhere for you, let's go you have training early tomorrow.' He says drawing Leah's attention away from the you, you looked to the new man who hadn't even acknowledged your presence, but that didn't matter all that mattered was that Leah was leaving and you had no clue how you were going to find her again.
Leah began following the new man but turned around to face you again. 'It was enchanting to meet you, y/n.' Leah smiled before walking off. Yes it was very enchanting.
Her last words she spoke to you had left you in shock, almost as much shock as when you realized that Leah was in fact the Leah Williamson, you felt like an idiot for not recognizing the English footballer sooner.
But still you couldn't stop thinking about the six words that had such an affect on you that you decided to write a whole song based off them, hence why you spent 5 hours last night writing and rewriting the lyrics to your newest song. One you knew would make the fans go crazy over, but you hoped Leah wouldn't find it to weird.

During a meeting with your publisher a few days after you'd finalised your new song and recorded it so it was ready to be released, you were sitting around doing nothing when a loud ping interrupted your daydreaming.
Your jaw dropped.
leahwilliamsonn started following you!
A loud scream left your mouth and you instantly rung your best friend Maddie, who you'd already told everything to involving the Leah situation.
'What do you want now?' Maddie's grumpy voice asked but you didn't care about how pissed she sounded.
'Leah followed me!' You squealed into the phone earning a groan from your best friend.
'Woo.' The american said in the most unenthusiastic, most sarcastic tone you've ever heard.
'You should be happy for your best friend.' You say childishly pouting.
'I would be if you hadn't called me at 5:50 on a Saturday morning, you know this is the day when I have a lie in.' She complains causing you to make an 'o' shape wit your mouth, you'd forgotten about the time difference between London and America.
'Sorry!' You apologise but only momentarily sympathising with the girl before returning to, in your opinion, more important matters. 'Well now you're awake, will you atleast give me advice on what to do. I don't want to embarrass myself.'
'I couldn't care less what you do, just follow her back or something. It's not that deep.' She tells you and you can tell by the way she yawns she just wants to be back in bed.
'Ok, sorry for waking you up. I'll let you get back to your beauty sleep now.' You say waiting for her to say goodbye but instead she just hands up. You roll your eyes, before opening instagram on your phone and hovering your finger over the follow back button next to Leah's profile which you had already spent hours stalking on a fake account. You repeat the words Maddie had told you in your mind a couple of times before manning up and pressing the button. After a while when nothing explodes you let out a breath you didn't realise you'd been holding.
Your publisher then returns to the room holding a couple of papers which she hands to you. 'You know the drill Miss L/N, I love the song and can't wait for you release it. It's going to be a hit.' She smiles and you grin back.
'Thank you so much for all your help, it doesn't go unnoticed.' You tell her. You both say goodbye before you head home.
For the first time in your career, you were releasing a single that you hadn't told the fans about. You didn't really care what they thought, you just prayed that a certain blonde footballer would like the song and not find it creepy.

Your song was going viral, fans were going crazy over who you had written it about. But you didn't care, you were still obsessing over the fact that Leah hadn't just liked but also commented on your post. Maybe that meant she didn't find it weird, or maybe she hadn't put the pieces together it was about her.
Surely she had though.
You had made sure to let all your friends know how Leah had interacted with your post, but much to your dismay, most of them hung up mid call. So now you were left alone with a bottle of prosseco, celebrating your latest hit.
You were still wondering what Leah was thinking about the song. You were kind of stressed whether the Arsenal star was finding it creepy how you'd written a whole song about a girl you'd spoken to for the best part of ten minutes. But those worries were put to rest when you checked your instagram.

i’m so stupid i did the request thing wrong sorry can i get a martini with 7 and 9 and with spencer please 🙏🏽
spencer reid x reader
prompts ; ' already barely holding it together as they're getting their hand held and then they feel that reassuring squeeze and they just can't anymore ' [ set when emily 'dies' ]
𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 ✦ 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 !
Tumblr media
the quiet of the hospital waiting room had never seemed so loud.
even with a group of chatty profilers sat in the plastic chairs, no one had dared utter a word while they waited to hear the status of their friend.
derek and penelope sat opposite yourself and spencer, white bandages visible from under the fabric of derek's t-shirt.
emily wasnt the only one who had been hurt today but she was the only one everyone was currently scared for.
and you had never seen penelope so quiet. her foot was tapping light against the floor despite derek's hand resting on her knee to try and stop it. her eyes were darting around the room waiting for a doctor or someone to update them on the condition of her best friend.
and then there was spencer. your usually full of life boyfriend was sat silent in the chair next to you. if you were walking past you wouldn't have recognised him. his tall stature was shrunk into the blue seat, his typical neat composure was discarded.
but his eyes were what worried you.
while his gaze hadn't drifted for 3 hours, you found it impossible to pinpoint what exactly he was looking at.
in those three hours your hand had never left his, your fingers interlaced, unwilling and unable to let go.
it was like a lifeline neither of you wanted to give up.
a set of footsteps grabbed your attention and you tugged spencers hand slightly, bringing him out of whatever daze he was in.
hotch stood infront of all of you, an indecipherable expression on his face, but that was nothing new for hotch.
a small shake of his head seemed to shatter everything.
the silence was shattered by a sob from penelope before derek brought her into his arms.
but both yourself and spencer remained frozen, not daring to move.
emily prentiss was dead.
you hadn't known her as well as anyone around you and the news still caused tears to cascade down your cheeks.
but when you turned your attention to the man beside you, you found his expression hadn't changed. he still looked far off
that worried you more than if he had break down crying.
" spence " you whispered quietly, trying to break him out of it.
and it did, but not in the way you imagined.
" can we go home ?" he asked, his tone pleading. he didnt want to be here and you didnt blame him.
" yeah, 'f course " you picked up your bag from the floor and the two of you said your goodbyes to everyone, promising penelope that you would call her tomorrow.
you only let go of spencers hand to climb into the car and even then, the minute you were both sat down and the doors were shut, your fingers slid into his once again.
the far off look in his eyes was beginning to scare you.
but you didnt want to pressure him to talk, so you simply gave his hand a squeeze and moved to turn on the car.
that was until you heard a choked sob escape echo through the car and you abandoned your task.
when you brought your eyes back to him his face had crumbled and tears were swiftly making their way down his cheeks and dying his shirt that had wrinkled from how long he had been sat uncomfortably in the waiting room.
" oh, baby " you whispered quietly, lifting your interlocked hands to your lips and pressing a kiss to his knuckles.
that only seemed to make matters worse. you couldn't comfort him from the drivers seat of the car while he sat crumbling in the passengers seat.
and while it wasnt the most elegant manoeuvre, you didnt care as you slid over the centre console until your legs were straddling his and your arms were wrapped around his neck.
there wasnt even a second between your arms wrapping around his neck and his arms wrapping tightly around your waist, holding the two of you against eachother.
nothing was said as you held onto him, tears sliding down both of your cheeks and forming damp patches on your shoulders.
you didnt move.
you couldnt.
and you didnt want to either.
time seemed to speed by and yet it also seemed to go at a snails pace.
you weren't sure how long the two of you sat there entwined in each others arms, but the sight of the sky lightening up seemed to bring you out of it.
and even then, it only pulled you out of your bubble long enough to press a kiss to spencer's cheek.
" c'mon, let's get you home "

pairings; loser!ellie williams x cheerleader! reader
cw; interalized homophobia, angst, tribbing, fingering (r! recieving), fluff, bullying (kinda), making out, slur, petnames like “baby & princess” , not proof read yet!
wc; 17k
life has never been better, you were handed the world at the age of 6. you never had to worry about having no friends, or not having the latest designer bag, and certainly not having everybody wrapped around your finger. you were a cheerleader & from that only, everyone respected you. you dedicated yourself into looks: always on diets, hitting the gyms, getting your nails done, having the most expensive makeup and so much more. you were the most outgoing girl known to mankind, never missing a rager or party. your friend groups were mainly other cheerleaders, and the jocks on the football team. they were assholes, but you didn’t care because so were you.
you never once paid attention in class, especially english. clicking your pen and having your eyes everywhere but the board. you snap out of your daze when your teacher announces that there will be a partner project, and she would assign the groups. you hear your name, and you pray that you get one of your friends but instead you hear the name ellie williams.
“you cannot be fucking serious” you mutter under your breath, looking at ellie whose a row infront of you.
“what was that?” the teacher asked you. “nothing.” you mock her tone, earning a laugh from your classmates.
“alright then everybody get to your partners we don’t have all day!” she claps her hands, urging everyone to switch their seats.
you stay in your seat, motioning ellie to
come where you are. why would you have to move? ellie rolled her eyes, not having the best impression of you either. “look,” ellie says “i wouldn’t have picked you either.” you scoff, “great to know we’re on the same page!” you look at her green eyes, and the way she flutters her eyelash. you were about to say something until you felt a tap on your shoulder.
it was a jock, and you end up talking to him for the rest of the period, not caring to look back at ellie, who was doing all the work. “another prissy bitch.” ellie thinks to herself.
as soon as the bell rings, ellie packs her stuff and leaves as soon as she could. she sees her friends, dina and jesse, and she sighs in relief. “you would not believe who i got paired up with.” dina and jesse both furrow their brows in unison. “a CHEERLEADER! i swear this world is against me, i already know im gonna have to do this project with myself.” dina replies, “yikes , you have it unlucky. i would NOT wanna be you.” jesse laughs and that makes ellie roll her eyes & reply “thanks dina that makes me feel a million times better.” “well jesse and I have to get going, good luck with her!” dina yells while grabbing jesse by the hand and dragging him through the hallways. ellie sighs and puts her back against the locker.
you put your bag down, and flop down on your bed chewing on some protein bars after practice. you grab your laptop and check your grade book. and thats when you see it. you’re gonna fail english class. “shit shit shit!” you tell yourself, pacing around your room in circles. you couldn’t give to shits if you were failing english, but what you did care about is being on academic probation. if you’re put on academic probation, you won’t be able to cheer. you can’t let that happen. so you grabbed your phone, and started texting everyone for ellie’s number. when you finally receive a message with her number, you smile and immediately text her.
“heyyy”
“who is this?”
“your partner in english.”
“why are you texting me?”
“do you wanna come over tomorrow to work on it?”
“is this a joke?”
“ why would i be? i have practice, so is 7:30 good?”
“yeah, ill be there just give me the address.”
it’s the next day and you come from practice drenched in sweat. you go into the shower, making sure its cold so you can relax. as you get out, you put on a robe and some uggs slipper and you hear the bell ring.
you walk over to answer, the fact ellie was supposed to come over completely slipped your mind. you open the door, and you see ellie.
“shit! is it 7:30 already?”
ellie takes full notice you’re in nothing but a robe and she blushes.
“yeah.”
“fuck im so sorry- practice had me exhausted-“
ellie reassures you, telling you it was okay because she found it kinda cute that your hair was wet and your lips were plump.
“here ellie, you can come inside, just stay in my room, i’ll get changed and i’ll be there in a sec.
ellie nods, and sinks down into your bed. she takes a moment to take in everything in your room. she took note of the way your walls were stripped pink and white to the little ballerina jewelry box that looked antique.
you walk into your room handing her some snacks. “do you want some?” “sure.”
ellie says. & now shes starting to think you’re not a total bitch.
this time, you ended up getting no work done but for a different reason. you spent your time gossiping to ellie, about who slept with who, or who did what. you never realized how pretty ellie truly was. her freckles decorated her face like how constellations decorate the sky. you look down into her lips, and ellie stops talking about whatever she was. ellie and you spend a brief moment just gazing into each other’s eyes.
you both get flustered and she breaks the silence by saying “um- do you have a hair tie?” “yeah of course here” and you hand her one.
you look at the time and gasp, it’s almost 11:30. were you guys really talking for that long? “ellie, do you wanna sleep over? or i can walk yo-“ “no, ill sleep over it’s fine.” you nod. grabbing blankets for her, “you can sleep on my bed i’ll sleep on my couch.” ellie scoffs “no fucking way, i’m not taking your bed, i can have the couch.”
and due to both of your guys’ stubbornness, you are laying next to eachother, in the same bed staring at the ceiling. you look over and you see ellie has fallen asleep. she looked so beautiful and her front hair pieces fell on her face, capturing her beautiful. you move your hand to tuck it but then you get this wave of disgust. not to her, but to yourself.
what the fuck am i doing? I can’t like girls. am i stupid? i’m not gonna be seen as some dyke on the cheerleader team. my reputation would be ruined.
you ended up falling asleep teary eyed, scared to accept if these feelings are really true and maybe they’ll go away.
it’s almost summer, and the feelings are still lingering and infact they are stronger than before. after acing the project, you still
continued to hang out with ellie. you and her hung out every friday, and it became a ritual. you were starting to fall in love with her, and you knew there was no way out. everytime your asshole friends said anything about her that was negative, you jumped to defend her name like a knight. “you know the project deadline was months ago, while do you still hangout with her.” slightly irritated you snap, “she isn’t even bad once you get to know her, she’s funny and sweet.”
it wasn’t any different for ellie either, expect she was 100% convinced you were straight. you never once spoke of your sexuality to her, and for any matter guys in general but why would you like her? she grew up playing with worms, while you grew up going on constant vacations. but even though she thought it would never happen, she asked the universe for this one thing. she prayed to a lord she didn’t even believe in, hoping he will for once listen to her.
God works in mysterious ways because you’re sitting in ellie’s room drinking vodka blasting music. it’s odd how vodka can make somebody so honest. ellie was rambling about a story with an ex she had named cat, and drama between the two. she developed a habit of gossiping, probably from you. to make sure you’re still listening, she asks you. “how about you, any boy trouble?” its silent, and you look at her and start sobbing. ellie’s heart drops down to her stomach and instantly grabs you, pulling you close to her. “hey was it something i said? im sorry-“ “no!” you manage to yell out between your broken sobs. “i don’t think i like guys.” “what?” ellie says, shocked from what she heard.
“when i look at you, it’s not the same for any guy. sure i’ve made out with guys, but not even that gives me the same feeling of when im talking to you. i want it to be you so bad, ellie.” you hiccup, tears staining your eyes. “but this is all new for me, and i hate myself for being this way, i had everything anyone could ask for and it feels like im throwing it all away.”
ellie’s mind is going in all directions, the fact you like her. the fact shes finally getting her prayers answered. she pushes it to the side, because what you need is comfort. ellie holds you tight. so tight, you cannot wiggle out of her grasp. “hey baby, it all works out at the end, your existence isn’t a sin, people who truly love you, will accept you for who you are. and you don’t have to figure things out right now, take your time.” ellie replies, hovering her hand over your face to wipe your tears.
you’re looking up at her, inching your face closer to hers. she leans in, capturing your lips in a kiss. you’re eager for more, so you grab her hair from behind and sloppily slid your mouth inside. ellie pulls away from the kiss, to get air, saliva connecting you guys to each other.
“hey els?” you say softly, having your knees tucked in.
“yeah?”
“since school is ending, there’s gonna be a rager. do you wanna come?”
ellie smiles at you, accepting your offer.
“i’ll be there.”
it’s the day of the rager, and ellie’s at her house with dina and jesse on her bed. “are you sure you really wannq go?” dina asks. ellie’s throwing her clothes everywhere, looking for an outfit to wear. “yeah,” jesse adds on “she doesn’t look like somebody who would hang out with you, what if this is all a prank?” ellie stops to look at them. “guys, i know you’re concerned but trust me on this, okay?” they nod their heads. “whatever happens, you can always tell us okay? whatever you choose to do , we’re with you.” ellie smiles and pulls them into a group hug. she’s wearing a wife pleaser, red flannel, and some jeans. shes tying her converse, she walks out the door, saying “wish me luck!”
she arrives at the house, and the music is so loud she can hear it from where she’s at. nervously she turns to twist the door knob and instantly she goes looking for you. she’s happy today after what happen yesterday, and she’s thinking to herself nothing can change her mood. until she saw you. you had a red solo cup in your hand. you were with a jock, who made it pretty clear he wanted you. was ellie a joke? was everything you said to her nothing after all? her friends were right. clenched fists, she turns to head out of the party, rushing to her car trying not to cry.
the jock wouldn’t take no for an answer, you’ve made it clear you’re not interested in him. “don’t be like that, i see the way you look at me.” you scrunch up your nose in disgust. “well you must be fucking blind.” and thats when you see in the corner of your eye, ellie. “fuck!” you murmur to yourself. ellie is already going towards the exist. as she’s walking down the steps of the porch. you scream, “wait! it’s not what it looks like, i swear-“
“do you think im a fucking joke? you made me feel like a fool.”
“ellie i swear nothing happened i was-“
“were you telling him your pranked worked? were you laughing about me? it’s done. i hope you had your fun.”
ellie is about to turn your back on you.
“ellie im in love with you!” you yell. loud enough
that people from the outside were looking at what was happening.
ellie looks around, “you’re drunk.”
“yes im drunk but that doesn’t change the fact im in love with you. the man that was talking to me. i was telling him to leave me alone. i only have eyes for you ellie! anybody who knows me has to get to know you first!” you breath starts to hitch, knowing you’re about to cry and how people are listening but you no longer care.
“i use to cry, praying that God took these feelings away. now im praying to God for letting me meet you. God knew I needed you Ellie.”
ellie stands there in disbelief, she doesn’t know what to say but her heart is about to explode. she runs to you, takes your hand and takes sits you in the passenger seat. closing the door, she starts the car and starts driving. she looks over at you, and you’re already staring at her. she places a hand on your thigh, and caresses it. “you’re perfect in every way, ways im not. i couldn’t believe somebody as amazing as you would want me, and im sorry.”
you smile, and place your hand on top of hers, “it’s okay, we were both pretty caught up” you giggle.
she would fight the world to hear that giggle again.
she pulls up to your driveway, and shes about to drive off but you ask her to stay the night. and how could she say no to that pretty face of yours?
it’s all dark, but you hold her hand and she follows you into your room. you play some music on your record player.
“do you like mazzy star els?”
“i dont listen to her much, but her voice is pretty.”
you walk up to her, and hold her by the waist. ellie looks down at you and pressed her lips onto yours. you close your eyes, melting into the kiss. you start getting hungrier for more, and you open your mouth to let her tongue slip into yours. the kisses start getting needier, and she walks you until your laying back on your bed. you straddle her waist, and she puts a hand up your dress causing you to whine.
“you’re okay with this right?”
“of course els, please hurry.”
“please what?”
you look away from her gaze, shyly, you fiddle with the seams of ellies wife pleaser and whisper to her , “please touch me, it can only be you.” and with that, ellie is slipping your dress off. kissing your collarbone all the way down to the welts of your breast. she takes off your matching set of panties and bra. and her cold hands on pinching your nipples make your back arch into her touch. she sucks on your nipples, flicking her tongue on it back and forth earning whimpers from you each and every time.
“n-need you els..” you stutter. “im not going anywhere baby.” she chuckles, her breath on your beast making you close your eyes in pleasure. “im gonna touch you now okay? tell me when to stop.” she slides her fingers between your folds.
“already so wet for me princess” and as she hovers to your face to kiss you, her front pieces of her hair are touching your own face. you’re sloppily making out with her, moaning into her mouth.
then she puts two of her fingers in, feeling you instantly clench around them. you start moaning louder and louder “ellie! ellie faster!” and she listens to you, curling her fingers even faster before hitting you in the g spot. your thighs start shaking. and your grabbing onto ellie’s fore arm, clawing it for any way to feel relief.
your moans reach an all time high and you know you’re almost there. im- im about to cum els!” and she starts sucking on your neck, “let it out for me baby, you deserve it come on.” and you reach your climax, sweating and panting. she takes her fingers out of you and sucks them. “you taste so good, everything about you is so sweet.”
still fucked out, you murmured incoherent sentences. “i wanna feel you against me els, please, please.” and ellie looks at you, grabbing your waist to pull you up. you looked at her in this love dovey expression and her heart skips a beat. “can i take this off?” you ask and she gulps and nods. you take off her flannel. then wife pleaser. then her jeans. leaving her in underwear and her sports bra, which now you’re taking off her underwear.
as for the most part both of you are naked, you place your cunt onto hers. you grind against her lightly. both of you whimpering sweet nothings. “i love you els i love you i love you” as you both of you are sweating, holding onto eachother, kissing as you slide on her and feel both of your holes clenching around nothing. “you’re doing so good f’ me” ellie blabbers. both of you are starting to reach your orgasms as you both moan in a higher octave, clawing at each others back, and feeling yourself twitch.
“i think im gonna cum i think-“ “come with me, be a good girl for me please.” she tells you needly, but you can’t even tease her because you want this just as much, if not more. both of you reach your climax, beads of sweat running down each of your fore heads. you disconnect yourself from her cunt. both of your arousals sticking to each other in a way your bodies seem like they’re made to mold into each other’s.
you collapse onto the back of your bed. ellie crawls to lay on your chest. kissing you over and over again, as a way to praise you. you giggle and run your hands through her hair, massaging her scalp.
“shouldn’t we clean up ellie?” you inquire, and you feel her breath on you again as she says “i wanna stay like this.” you nod and you bring blankets over you guys.
“im in love with you too.” ellie tells you.
“i think you showed me already.” you laughed.
“so are we girlfriends?” ellie asks you, looking up at you.
you kiss ellie, and tell her “if you go to every one of my practices.”
safe to say there was never a practice ellie didn’t go to.

XAVIER AND RAFAYEL WHEN THEYRE JEALOUS
Warnings: slightly suggestive on Rafayels part but that’s about it!
Tumblr media
XAVIER (inspired by this line)
It was about midnight when you finally arrived back to your house. It was stupid really, when you signed up for this job, you thought you’d be doing more fighting. but here you are having to do paperwork…
You grab the doorknob and open the door, only to see Xavier fast asleep on your couch.
Huh… “Xavier?” You leaned over him and poked his shoulder. What was he doing at your house?
After some poking and prodding, you finally see a pair of blue eyes looking back up at you.
“Hm? Oh [name] what took you so long?” Xavier rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes, but you thought you saw a hint of something else in his eyes too.
“Paperwork per usual.” You groaned in annoyance, sitting down next to him. He hummed in response before taking your hand into his gently.
“Do you still have time for our claw machine date tomorrow…?” He inquires in a whispering tone.
“Of course I do! We still need to add the new puppy plushie to our family.” That seems to bring a smile to his face as he kisses your hand.
“I’ll finally have your attention all to myself, huh?” He sounds awfully calm while he spoke, but you could tell there was a hint of jealousy.
“You always will Xav.” Your hand finds his shoulder as you give it a small squeeze and a kiss on the cheek.
“Hm…” he hums “A gesture like this… don’t do it with anyone else.”
Tumblr media
RAFAYEL
Tangled in your sheets was Rafayel, holding onto your waist for dear life.. it was already seven in the morning and you swore you would get groceries early today. With a small grunt you attempt to pull yourself out of his hold, only to hear a whine.
“No.. why are you already trying to get up?” His voice is muffled by the pillow, but it was still loud and clear.
“I gotta go grocery shopping today, I already told you.” You huff still trying to get up, but that only made him hold you tighter.
“Oh wow. So first you decide to cuddle with that stupid bird plushie all night instead of me, and NOW you’re trying to leave me?”
… what is he talking about??
“I’m not leaving you! It’s only for like 30 minutes.” You try to argue but you know damn well he’s just being dramatic.
“30 minutes too long!” Rafayel pouts. “Why can’t you just stay a little longer?”
“What do I get out of that, huh?” You roll your eyes once you catch a smirk growing on his lips.
“I guess I’ll just have to show you…” his hand slides underneath your shirt, grabbing at the flesh of your stomach. “Just stay a little longer, okay?”

and if you're thinking of me, i'm probably thinking of you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you and alex wind down after an exhausting week of concerts
just purely fluff !
you watched from the side of the stage as the boys performed. you loved nothing more than seeing alex do what he loved, where he was himself. you would always remember how nervous he used to be before going on stage, and now you watched with a smile as he strolled around like he owned the place.
you could tell he was tired though, he wasn't prancing and dancing around as enthusiastically as he usually would. it had been a long tour, and you could tell the comments about his voice were bothering him. you had told him time and time again that he should sing at whatever pace he wanted, it was his show after all and the thousands of people watching had paid to be there.
they were doing their last song in the encore: r u mine. this always got the crowd excited, and you could see how crazy the mosh pits were from all the way back where you were.
the last few minutes went by quickly, and the next thing you knew the monkeys were waving goodbye to the crowd. you had a huge grin on your face as you waited for alex.
he beelined straight for you, pulling you into his arms and burying his face in your hair. your arms went to his neck and the two of you rocked side to side as you embraced.
"it was a good show. the crowd was very enthusiastic." you said quietly, your voice slightly muffled as your head was buried into his chest.
"mhm." alex said, pulling back from the hug. he gave you a soft smile. "i'm really tired, baby."
"i know, i can tell." you said, a small pout on your face as you held alexs face.
"can we go back to the hotel room?" he asked softly, his hands squeezing your waist.
"of course we can!" you said, smiling at your husband. "lets go tell the boys and then we can go."
alex just nodded, letting go of your waist so the two of you could walk but immediately grabbing on to your hand. you walked further back stage, going down the steps and winding round the corridors to the little room you had all been having a few drinks in prior to the show. the rest of the band were in there, music already playing loudly and drinks poured.
"we're heading off." you announced. matt nodded, looking from you to alex seeing that he wasn't in a celebratory mood. "alright mate, see you tomorrow." he said, mid pouring himself a beer into his glass.
alex pulled you away from the doorway and you followed the exit signs to leave the place. the air was cold and crisp, making you lean into alexs side more. he dropped your hand and snaked his arm around your waist as you walked.
the hotel was only a 5 minute walk away, and the two of you were walking fast to get into the warmth again. once you had reached the hotel, your walking pace slowed as you made your way through the lobby and to the elevator to your room.
alex pressed the button for floor 5 on the lift as you stepped in, and the doors closed. stood in a comfortable silence, you moved from being at alex's side, to infront of him, placing your hands against his chest. his hands latched on to your waist, pulling you even closer to him.
you stayed that way, looking into eachothers eyes as a way of silently communicating. the elevator dinged, alerting you that you had reached your floor. you stepped away from alex, his hands dropping from your waist but immediately picking up your hand as the two of you exited the lift.
it only took a small number of steps until they were in front of their hotel room. you fumbled in your bag to find the keycard, alex watching you with gentle eyes. a small, smug smile grew on your face as you sang softly, "i'm going back to 504.." you look up at alex, bursting out in a fit of giggles at his straight face. you had been making the same joke for the past two days, you had almost rejoiced when the lady at the reception informed you of your room on the fifth floor. you were only slightly disappointed to be in the room right across from 505, but you still sang that line anyways.
"haha, very funny." alex says in one of the driest tones you've ever heard. you just smile at him, kissing his cheek lovingly before pressing the keycard against the lock on the door and pushing it open.
you walked inside, leaning against the wall to take off your heels. alex shut the door behind him, slipping his shoes off a lot easier than you could. he moved over to you and you heard him let out a small laugh watching you struggle to even unbuckle the straps on your heels. you huff, and before you can say anything else, alex is already kneeling down in front of you and carefully unstrapping the heel you were struggling with, and then doing the same with the other. he gently pulls each heel off your foot one by one, and once they're off he stand up.
his arms immediately snake around your waist and pull you to him. you look up at him, tender love clear in his eyes. wrapping your arms around his neck, you pull his head down for your lips to meet.
the kiss is a slow one, a way of you both expressing your love. you break the kiss, your breathing a little heavier than previously. "i love you." you say softly, dropping down from your tiptoes than you hadn't even realised you were stood up on.
"i love you too, sweetheart." alex says, dropping a kiss on your forehead, the pet name making your heart melt.
"come on, let's go watch a movie or something." you say quietly. alex nods, letting go of you, and the two of you make your way to the bed. you clamber onto it, hearing alex laugh behind you as you crawl further up the bed. you turn around as you sit up against the headboard, alex still laughing softly and shaking his head.
you pat the bed next to you, a way of saying "come on". alex moves around the side and sits down, also sitting up against the headboard. you reach for the controller on your bedside table and turn the tv on.
you flick through netflix, which the hotel tv surprisingly had, not seeing anything that good. "what are you feeling?" you ask alex. he takes the controller from you, having a look for himself.
whilst your hands are free, you take the opportunity to move closer to alex. you shuffle down the bed a little, resting your head against alex's chest. he automatically lifts his arm and wraps it around your side, pulling you even closer.
he hums, and you feel the vibrations of his chest, "that's better." you look up at him, a small smile on your face but his gaze is on the tv.
you find yourself admiring him for a few moments, his perfectly straight nose, his soft brown eyes, the slight stubble peppering his chin and the wrinkles just starting to appear. "this looks good." his voice brings you back into focus, and you look at the tv. it was some sort of true crime documentary, and you nodded your head. he put it on, placing the remote on his bedside table.
you were watching the documentary for less than five minutes before alex shifted, pulling you even closer to him, his arm wrapping around your waist. you were now on your side, him lying on his back. you kept your eyes on the tv screen, a smile creeping up on your face. the hand that was resting around alex's waist was suddenly picked up. you felt alex's thumb caress the back of your hand, before he picked up your ring finger.
he hummed, before very quietly saying, "one day, there'll be a ring on this finger, baby. and then everyone will know you're mrs turner." he pressed a kiss into your hair, his other hand that was around your waist moving up and down.
you felt a blush creeping up on your cheeks, as you shifted to look up at alex. "i really hope so." you says, just as quietly, and you're met with a grin on alex's face. "i love you, al." you add, your heart warm.
"i love you." he says back, before mumbling into your hair. "more."
you giggle softly. "no you don't, there's no way you love me more than i love you. there's no way anyone can love anyone as much as i love you."
alex shakes his head. "no. although your heart is big, i don't own it all. the cat owns.. lets say... a fifth."
you laugh more, you did love your pet cat, but nowhere near as much as you loved alex. "yeah i love tiger, but not as much as you." you express your thoughts.
"yeah but tiger still owns a bit of your heart. you have my whole heart." alex says, his smile growing as you laugh.
shaking your head, you sigh. "okay fine. i still love you more though." you move your attention back to the tv.
alex doesn't say anything, but you feel him shake his head. his hand strokes through your hair, and you feel yourself growing tired after a while. you shut your eyes, not planning on falling asleep, but the next moment, you are.
alex looks down at you, smiling at your sleeping form. he kisses your head, his heart full of love for you. you had been together for almost ten years now, and the feeling never got old for alex. he hoped after the car tour finished you could settle down, get married and have children.
noticing you were still in your dress, he carefully and slowly moves you off him, not wanting to wake you. he climbs off the bed, unzipping your suitcase and pulling out your pajamas. he walks back to the bed, slowly removing your dress.
after about five minutes, he finally manages to get it off, with you still fast asleep. he pulls your t-shirt over your head, having to lift your upper body a little bit to do it. he then lifts your hips carefully to put your pajama trousers on. finally, he puts your fluffy socks on for you, knowing you can't sleep without them.
alex changed into his pajamas quickly too, before gently lifting you up, pulling the duvet cover down, and placing you on the bed. you curl up instantly, and he watches a small frown appear on your face. alex smiles softly, and gets into his side of the bed, pulling you to him straight away.
he kisses your forehead, whispering the words: "i love you the most, sweetheart." before closing his own eyes, a smile on his face.
⋅˚₊‧ 𐙚 ‧₊˚ ⋅
a/n: i'm sorry if this is a bit boring, but personally i love soft the car alex.

honey, you work too hard at the gym! i think you should start having a cheat day, once a week.
no exercise, no counting calories— then you can go back to your routine the next day, and it’ll be like nothing happened! doesn’t that sound nice?
hm? you think i ordered you too much fast food? you’re not supposed to count calories on your cheat day. i promise, a couple burgers and large fries and milkshakes won’t do anything.
don’t worry about anything, don’t think about anything. relax. i’ll take care of it.
-
you want mcdonald’s? but it’s monday, baby, it’s not your cheat day. no, no, it’s fine! just making sure that’s what you want.
besides, you’ve already worked out today. you’ve earned it, haven’t you? go get comfortable on the couch, and i’ll bring you your food.
in fact, why don’t you skip the gym tomorrow? you’ve worked so hard today, you should let those muscles rest. you know, i’ve heard that overworking yourself can actually ruin your progress.
this is what’s best for you. and i know what’s best for you, don’t i?
-
what’s wrong? oh, your workout clothes feel tight? hm, how strange! they must’ve shrunk in the wash. getting fat? don’t be ridiculous, honey, you’re just as fit as you’re always been.
you think i’m lying? why would i lie to you? sure, maybe you’ve gained some weight, but it’s all muscle! just trust me. you can trust me.
in fact, why are you trying on those clothes anyways? …you’re going to the gym? oh, about that…i cancelled your membership. it was pointless to keep it! you haven’t gone in months. it was just a waste of money.
of course you can renew it— but we’re already halfway into the month. why don’t we wait until next month, so you don’t have to pay full price for less time? you can just do home workouts until then, can’t you? it’s basically the same thing.
don’t give me that look. would i really lie to you?
-
honey, what have you done to yourself? have you looked in the mirror lately?
oh, of course, you don’t like to. then allow me to describe what i see: someone who was once a fit, muscular, active athlete; but has turned into an obese, pathetic, lazy hog.
god, you’re such a fatass now. i can’t believe how much weight you’ve gained, you’re barely recognizable.
ha! you want to blame me? point that stubby little sausage finger back at yourself, pig. i never forced you to binge on fast food nonstop. i never forced you to give up on your workouts. i never said you couldn’t renew your membership.
you wanted this— you want more of this. remember those shorts you whined about outgrowing? i bet you couldn’t even pull them up past your knees, now.
look at me. tell me you want to go back to the gym. tell me you want to give up fast food. tell me you’re ready to be active and healthy again. i won’t tell you that you can’t. i can delete doordash. throw out all the chips and cookies and junk food in the kitchen that you asked me to buy. you can redownload that calorie tracking app and start counting macros again. i can renew your gym membership. hell, i’ll even go with you. tell me that you want to change and go back to your old self.
that’s right. you can’t. you’re too far gone. it’s time you accept it.
now, go sit on the couch, turn that tv on and turn what’s left of your fried brain off. dinner was almost an hour— it’s time to eat again.

how long I had to fight to be living my life – N. Blankenburg

Only for you Demi, and literally only for you, will I write a fic for Nick Blankenburg. I hope you enjoy it!
Word count: 2.7k
Warnings: angst, childhood sweethearts, exes to lovers, mild mention of injuries
Title from Remember that Night? by Sara Kays
~
“No, no, no, come on!”
As her car sputtered to a stop, Nora groaned, smacking her hand against the steering wheel once before closing her eyes and tilting her head back. Of all the bad luck, she had to break down at 2am down a quiet street, in pitch black darkness with literally no-one else around. When she’d agreed to cover a couple of hours shift for one of her fellow nurses, she’d agreed without hesitation – the money was always helpful. But now, it just looked like that money she’d worked her ass off for would just be poured into whatever the hell had gone wrong with her car.
Perfect. Just perfect.
Her dad always made her save a couple of local 24-hour tow truck numbers, something which she’d always called him overprotective for…but now she was grateful for. Thankfully, the first one she called answered and agreed to pick her up immediately. The only thing was, due to the hour of the night, all they could do was tow it to their company yard until the morning before they could take it to a mechanic. And from their company yard? She had no way of getting home. Her dad wasn’t answering his phone, neither were her mom or her mom’s boyfriend. None of her best friends were either. Not that she blamed them – it was 3am by this point, a completely ridiculous hour, but all she wanted was to go home and go to bed and possibly cry. It had been a 15-hour shift so to have all of this on top of it? Not the best night she’d ever had.
As she scrolled through her phone, she was running out of options of people to contact – and then she landed on the one name she knew she shouldn’t call at all. Nick Blankenburg. Her ex-boyfriend. She didn’t even know if he was back in town yet but with no-one else answering, she had little choice. Come on Nick, pick up, pick up, pick up.
“Hello? Nora?”
“H-Hi, Nick. Sorry to call so late,” Nora said softly.
He answered. Of course he answered.
“What’s wrong? Are you drunk?”
“Rude.”
“We broke up 2 years ago and you’re calling me out of the blue at 3am. If you’re not drunk, then what’s wrong?”
Well he had a point there. But still.
“My car broke down. I was able to get a tow truck but I can’t get it fixed until the morning for obvious reasons,” Nora sighed.
“You need a ride?”
He offered? Just like that?
“Y-Yeah. If that’s okay. I know it’s not exactly ideal,” she murmured.
“I’m not leaving you stranded. Send me your location pin and I’ll leave right away.”
“Thanks Nick.”
“Yep.”
His brusqueness wasn’t rudeness, not in the slightest. It was concern in his voice, she knew that much – she never thought she’d hear that again, not from him.
“You got a ride sorted yet?”
She flinched slightly at the voice of the tow truck driver behind her, to which he laughed softly, holding his hands up in surrender.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, honest. I got a daughter about your age and I know she would be freaking out right now if it was her.”
Well, that was a little more reassuring.
“Yeah, I’ve got a ride. He should be here soon,” she nodded, smiling even if it felt a little forced, “I’m not freaking out too much right now, I know things will get fixed.”
“Good, good. I’ll give you a call when we’re ready to take your car to the mechanic tomorrow and you can meet us there?”
“Yeah, sure. That sounds good. Thanks,” she said, trying not to think about how much the repairs would cost.
That was a problem for tomorrow.
The truck driver left her alone after that, heading back inside the building, but he left the light on to show her she wasn’t alone, which gave her a little comfort. The minutes felt like they stretched into hours while she waited for Nick, not all because of her exhaustion. She hadn’t seen him since they broke up those two long years ago, not even in passing. Sure, that had mostly been on purpose, but it didn’t make what was coming any easier.
Why had she called him?
Why had he answered?
Why had he offered to pick her up?
Before she could get any logical answers to those questions, the old familiar engine rumble sounded around the corner, and a car she never thought she’d see again pulled to a stop in front of her.
“Shit Nor, you look exhausted.”
Exactly what she needed to hear. With a groan, she picked up her bag and sent a wave over her shoulder, before getting inside the car.
“Thanks Nick, just what every woman likes to hear,” she said dryly, buckling her seatbelt.
“Damn it, I didn’t mean it like that,” he sighed, running a hand over his hair.
He looked good. A little too skinny maybe, end of season weight loss, but still…he looked good. Of course he did. He was Nick Blankenburg.
“Thanks for picking me up. Can we go?”
“Yeah course. Uh, where am I taking you?”
Right, because she’d moved out of her dad’s place after they’d broken up.
Nick stayed silent as she rattled off her address, plugging it into his phone before starting to drive. It wasn’t going to take more than 20 minutes for him to drive her, but she didn’t know how she was going to stay sane. Nick was just staring resolutely out at the empty streets, radio playing quietly, not really breaking the awkward silence.
It wasn’t that their break-up had been a nasty messy blow out. Yeah, there were arguments and stupid things said back and forth, but nothing that made her hate him. They’d just…grown apart. It had been hard enough with the distance of him at UMich – and all the rightful attention he’d had – she’d gotten jealous of girls flirting and he didn’t try hard enough to reassure her. His captaincy and dedication to the team was something he’d worked hard for, and she’d been so proud of him – but that focus had meant their relationship had slipped through the cracks. And with him trying to make it in professional hockey? Nick signing that first contract with the Blue Jackets had been the death of them.
She’d been so proud of him, just as he’d deserved, because he was finally making his dream come true. But she’d had to be honest with herself – they couldn’t handle the distance of just over an hour for four years, so how could they handle being over 4 hours apart when all of his focus had to be on his career?
The final time they’d seen each other had been the most she’d ever seen him cry. It was the most she had ever cried in her life too. The cumulation of what seemed like a lifetime had swirled down the drain and there was nothing left in either of them to try to fix it. But Nick had left with one promise – if she ever truly needed him, he would be there.
Nora hadn’t thought about that in a long time. Seems like her subconscious had remembered after all.
“So…long shift tonight?”
The familiar awkwardness in his voice made her crack a smile without her being able to help it.
“Yeah. My regular 12-hour shift plus another 3 hours to cover for another nurse,” she nodded, glancing over at him.
The immediate grimace on his face made her laugh, earning a twitch of a smile from him.
“That sounds awful,” he murmured.
“That’s nursing,” she said, shrugging.
His eyes darted to her voice briefly, before locking back on the road.
“You love nursing, don’t you.”
He could still read her that easily?
“Yeah, I really do. It’s like I finally know what I’m meant to be doing,” she nodded, smiling.
He smiled tightly at her, nodding back. The unease settled back in her chest, making her sigh softly.
“How’s hockey?”
Nick barked out a laugh, making her frown. What the hell had happened to him?
“I still love it, but I don’t think it loves me,” he muttered.
Well, fuck. “What do you mean?” she prompted.
It had hurt too much to follow his career after he left. She’d had every intention of keeping track of his games, but when it had come to it? It had been too hard.
“I got sent down to the AHL at the end of the season. I’ve had injuries all year. And it’s the end of my two-year contract now. So I’m really not sure what the hell is going to happen to me next season. If I even have a next season.”
For all the years she’d known him, she’d never heard this much bitterness in his voice. Not in AAA hockey. Not in Juniors. Not at UMich. Not in his struggles to get drafted. Not in their hard times. Not even in their break-up. What the hell had happened to him?
“Everything will work out,” she murmured.
“Yeah, okay,” he scoffed.
She flinched at the sharpness in his voice, something he immediately noticed by the way he cursed under his breath.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-”
“It’s okay,” she said softly, interrupting, “I shouldn’t have asked.”
“You can always ask, Nor,” he replied.
“Pretty sure I lost that right two years ago,” she pointed out.
Nick huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. Nora was just glad the tension was broken. She still didn’t know what she’d been thinking, calling Nick – but at least they weren’t yelling at each other. That was a silver lining.
“There will never be anyone else who I’d be this honest to,” he shrugged.
Nora swallowed heavily, taking in a shaky breath as Nick glanced over at her.
“I can’t be the only person you talk to about this stuff,” she murmured.
“Who else am I going to trust?”
~
“You want to what?”
“I want to make a pact with you,” Nick said simply.
“We are 10 years old and you want to make a marriage pact with me?”
“You’re the prettiest girl in class and you’re one of my best friends. Why wouldn’t I want to marry you?”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works, dummy,” Nora giggled.
“I’m not a dummy, you’re a dummy!” Nick shot back.
Nora just giggled harder, sticking her tongue out at Nick through her missing front teeth.
“Pretty sure you’re meant to be boyfriend girlfriend first before you get married,” she pointed out.
Nick seemed to think about that for a few seconds before shrugging. “Okay let’s be boyfriend girlfriend.”
“Really?”
“Really really.”
“So you’ll hold my hand? And kick Jimmy Smith when he makes fun of my curly hair? And eat lunch with me?” Nora asked hopefully.
“Only if you help me with my math homework. And pick the best bandaids for my knees. And stay my best friend forever,” Nick nodded.
“Best friends forever?”
“Who else am I going to trust?”
~
As the memory of those words rushed through her, Nora choked on a gasp, glancing over at Nick with tears in her eyes.
“You still remember?”
“You still remember?” she countered.
“My concussions haven’t been that bad, Nor,” he mused.
She winced. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
Nick nodded, accepting her answer. “I still remember, because making that pact with you was still one of the best things I’ve ever done.”
The tears truly stung at her eyes now, and she shook her head. “We were so young. And so stupid.”
“Maybe. But we were boyfriend girlfriend for 12 years so I think I did something right,” he smirked.
Boyfriend girlfriend. It sounded so childish, so innocent when he said it like that, but wasn’t that exactly what they were for 12 years? 12 long years and this is where they were now.
“Hey, what’s on your mind?” he murmured.
“I miss you.”
Those were not the words she expected to come out of her mouth, but it was far too late to take them back now. Even if Nick looked like he’d been stunned into silence.
“You miss me?” he eventually asked, surprisingly her slightly with how his voice was full of wonder rather than disgust.
“Can we pretend I didn’t say that?” she groaned.
“Absolutely not,” Nick shot back.
That slow grin that spread over his face was so familiar, so Nick, and it still sent a shiver up her spine. Damn it. The way his eyes crinkled with the force of his smile still filled her stomach with butterflies. Damn it.
“My mom still asks about you, you know,” he said softly.
“Oh my god, don’t bring Momma Blanks into this, that’s just mean,” she murmured.
Nick snorted, lifting one hand off the wheel to hold it up in surrender. It wasn’t until he put his hand back on the wheel and pulled to a stop that she realised where they were. Outside her apartment building. Where had that journey gone?
“I guess this is it then,” Nora said quietly.
Those words ached in her chest the moment they left her lips.
“Does it have to be?”
With Nick’s full attention on her now, it was hard to feel anything but completely consumed.
“We broke up, Nick. Two years ago,” she said simply, trying to guard herself.
“And they have been the hardest two years of my life.”
Nora inhaled sharply. “You chose hockey. As you rightly should have, because it’s the career you wanted for so long, but you chose hockey!”
“I know that! I fight and struggle and claw my way through each day, hoping to find what I’m looking for, and I can’t because I left that behind when we broke up!”
He was breathing raggedly, emotion pouring into his words, eyes so full of devastation that they broke her heart all over again. Nick swallowed heavily, huffing out a laugh, before shaking his head.
“I’m sorry for raising my voice. That wasn’t fair. I just…I miss you, Nora. Maybe tonight was fate,” he said softly.
“You think my car breaking down after a long 15-hour shift is fate,” she said dryly.
“Oh my god I don’t know why I love you.”
Even as he groaned dramatically, she knew he meant every word. He loved her. He still loved her. Even after two years, he still loved her? Nora didn’t know what was showing on her face, but Nick sighed softly before sending her a weak smile.
“We can pretend I didn’t say that,” he offered.
His voice was so quiet, so small, nothing like she’d ever heard before. He was nervous. She hated it.
“Can’t take it back now, Blankenburg. I heard you loud and clear,” Nora said simply, smile threatening to spill over her lips.
Nick’s own lips parted in surprise for a moment, before he laughed loud and clear, the most genuine things she’d heard from him all night. “Do you need a ride to the mechanic tomorrow morning?”
“You going to be my knight in shining armour again?”
“As long as you’ll let me, princess.”
She couldn’t help slipping back into her old teasing, Nick’s answering grin cementing it for her. Tonight had been dangerous for her heart, everything she’d been trying to protect herself against for the past two years. And yet here she was, flirting with her ex-boyfriend like nothing had changed.
“Give me a call when you need me?” he suggested.
“Yeah, yeah, I will do,” she nodded, slipping her bag strap over her shoulder as she tried to calm her racing heart.
But as she opened the car door, Nick’s hand shot out to stop her, his large hand surrounding her wrist easily. His thumb stoked over the thin skin in a way that made her shiver, something which he clearly noticed with the way he smiled sharply, heated.
“It really was good to see you, Nora,” he murmured.
“It was good to see you too, Nick.”
And as he let her go, she knew in her bones that this was the start of something completely new.

A/n: Helloooo!! This is actually the start of a series I have been thinking about doing! ill still be taking requests and doing stuff in between but I used to do long stories and I wanted to see if I was still able! thank you for reading!!!
Summary: You and Marko had grown up together, and him asking you to be a part of this journey was an amazing opportunity, flying over to Sweden with him and making sure your focus was on the competition. little did you know how quickly landing in Sweden with a certain blonde roaming around would change the directory of your plans C/W: Swearing, smoking, alcohol, slight mentions of blood, mentions of angst, fem!Reader Word count: 1,229
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
slowly opening your eyes you wince, the bright sun shining in through the small plane window "Now landing in Malmo Sweden" The pilot announces to the plane, clearly tired and not as energetic as when you and your good friend Marko had gotten onto the plane. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes and stretching you look over at Marko who is still out cold with his head back and snoring slightly "Markooo~" You hum quietly causing the man to only stir and groan not ready in the slightest to wake up "Mark" You poke him in the arm and he whines "Three more minutes" He mumbles and you poke him again in the side causing his body to jolt upright "Hey!" he yelps and snaps his head to look at you in pure shock
"to je bilo vrlo nepristojno!" (That was very rude!) Marko whines but you cant help the small giggle that leaves your lips at the pouty grown man next to you "you weren't gonna wake up" You defend yourself "And look! we are landing!" You add on pointing outside at the quickly approaching ground "wouldnt want you to miss that" You tease a little and Marko quickly spares you a playful glare "Remember you are with me this whole trip- I could make it hell-" He hums wagging his finger at you. scoffing you push his hand away "I just wont dance for you- maybe I'll join Ireland!" you tap your chin and Marko gently swats your arm "Dont even play with me like that žena (Woman)"
Once you two had exited the plane and made sure your belongings were accounted for you had caught a taxi and headed straight for the hotels Eurovision had reserved for the singers and performers, being lucky enough to secure a room right next door to Marko's- not exactly wanting to be separated before the event even starts, Gathering information that the arena would open tomorrow for rehearsal time slots so each performer could sing or dance and grow used to the stage and/or size of the stage "This is pretty cool!" Marko pushes his sunglasses on top of his head and smiles over at you "Are you excited? I'm excited" He looks around and you nod with a laugh "I am pretty excited for the opportunities and the experiences" You hum heading towards the elevators with your friend ready to get settled happy to listen to him tell you about all the plans he has The next day you and Marko had gotten ready and headed straight for the Arena, fully dressed up and still getting used to the outfits. Fixing your top and adjusting your hair piece you hum "These are pretty useful and flexible thank the Lord" You sigh looking over at your male dance partner who seems just as pleased with the uniforms "I do agree! Though I wish we had time for breakfast" Marko rubs his stomach and you sigh "and maybe if it were a bit warmer" You hook onto his complaints....Getting closer to the stage you all can make out some upbeat music and it grabs all three of your attention "Thats catchy-" Your partner says and you nod "Damn it is-" You get closer trying to make out the lyrics "Euro-pa-pa-papapa-" comes through and you raise a brow "interesting" You all quietly entered and finally got a look at the singer clad in a large blue suit and his backup in a large blue bird suit and the other in similar attire to the singer but toned down
"Must be the Netherlands!" Marko whispers to you showing you the schedule on his phone and you smile a little watching the man dance around the stage clearly loving every second of his performance and putting his all into even the rehearsals "impressive" You smile watching the rest of his performance.
With a wave the man on stage thanks the workers and exits towards your group with his tailing him. "Wonderful performance friend!" Marko waves and the male smiles "Thank you! Im Joost" He puts out a hand and Marko shakes it eagerly "Ah! I'm Marko! Or Baby Lasagna" He chuckles and points over at you and your partner who is watching in awe "Those are my dancers!" He waves you two over allowing you to introduce yourselves "What a crew you have!" Joost hums his gaze landing on you and he smiles "the uniforms are awesome!" He compliments and Marko's eyes light up "Yours are too! The band members should be here too soon and they have sorta the same get up" Marko explains and Joost nods before nodding to the side "Well, I'll get going! Good luck!" He gives a small wave and a huge smile before looking you over one more time and making his exit
"He seemed too enjoy your costume" Your partner jokes and you cant help but elbow him in the side "literally just met him-" You remind and your partner shrugs "Doesnt mean you aren't a sight to see" He chuckles following you onto the stage once you had been called on, the rest of the band showing up just in time dressed up and just as hyped up as everyone else....
After a long day of dancing, singing, and repeating- followed up with sight seeing, shopping, and whatever else the group had wanted to do you all finally made it back to the hotel. "Wow, Sweden is so beautiful!" Marko claps his hands together holding a few bags he himself had picked up "a great place to hold an event so large" You chuckle looking around the lobby, your eyes landing on the blonde from this morning- Joost? He has his eyes on you, dressed a lot more relaxed and comfortable "Hey, I'll catch up Marko!" You call to your friend who nods "Bring up some drinks if you can find any pretty please!" Marko says with a quick wave before making his way to the elevator.
"Hello" You walk up to Joost who smiles a little "Hallo" He hums reciting your name with a raised brow and you nod "Joost correct?" You tilt your head and the Dutchman nods "Your guises performance, it was so cool!" Joost pushes himself off the wall and smiles down at you "I loved the choreo too! felt like a story was definitely being told" he hums and you chuckle "Yeah? Marko was set on definitely getting people involved" You shake your head "I loved your performance! so full of emotion and energy!" you shrug "I can tell you are going to be a fan favorite" you wink and Joost gasps a little "You really think so??" he gets all bashful and you nod "Oh 100% we don't have a rehearsal time tomorrow, do you? Maybe I'll pop in and watch the full thing" You offer and Joost nods quickly "10!" He responds and you smile "Ill be there!" You promise and Joost quickly pulls out his phone "Would you like my number? Just so I can keep you updated?" He shakes his phone and little and you pull yours out with a nod "That would be helpful!"
After sharing contact info you two had bid your goodbyes, Joost heading back to his room leaving you in the quiet abandoned lobby- Maybe this will be a good trip after all
Tumblr media
A/N: A little slow- but next chapter will get exciting!! Sorry for the small chapter I'll try to make future ones a little more wordy!! thank you for reading!! Can I ask Yandere Miguel with an S/o who isn’t interested in him at all, but who’s in love with his brother Gabriel?
Half-Way to True Love
You don't think this was supposed to be a friendly platonic lunch.
The more you ate the very expensive food at the expensive table with the expensive view, smelling his expensive cologne across the table, the slower you chewed in nervousness and realization. Has he been trying to impress you the whole time?
You finished your mouthful of nicely flavored and smooth mashed potatoes and looked up at Miguel. He was already staring down at you with that look in his eyes. Love. Something you didn't feel for him but you know he felt for you. You tried to ignore your mind and attempted to convince yourself it couldn't be what you thought it was.
"How's the food?"
You nod silently and put down your fork to pick up your glass of champagne. "It's pretty good. I like it a lot." His shoulders relax and he finally cuts his first piece of steak. "That's good. The first time I came here, I knew it would be a great place for a date."
Date echoed through your head. Your face immediately dropped into one of disappointment. Miguel has honestly been pushing you to the edge for longer than a month. Constant pleas and begs to be with you in ways you didn't enjoy and even though this was one of his most tamest attempt, this was enough to get you to snap. "Miguel." He looked up at you and saw your face, his own dropping at your reaction.
"Why did you bring me here?" His face also set into one of stone as he put down his fork and knife. "Well, I wanted to do something nice for the both of us. I know both of us are equally tired from the constant piles of work we have to finish at Alchemax, I know you juggle a lot of tasks after work and you could definitely use a break like me. So, I took it upon myself to bring you here as a way-"
You look both ways around the restaurant to make sure no one was watching before leaning over to hiss at him quietly, yet the most angry you've been this entire week. "I told you a million fucking time's I'm not into you, Miguel!! I keep telling you constantly, I. don't. want. you. I don't want to date you, I don't want your money, I don't want your time, I don't want any fucking thing from you." You pick up your purse and furiously dig around for your wallet so you can hopefully just pay and leave. "You're so fucking lucky I don't toss my plate in your fucking face, Jesus."
As surprised he was of your outburst, he knew every reason and then some for why you don't want to be with him. "Why do you want Gabriel?" You look up at him in confusion and frustration. "I'm not doing this with you right now." Where the hell is your wallet??? "Why do you want my brother? What does he have that I don't? I have everything he doesn't, but you continue running to him like he's the best thing you could ever ask for."
"He's the 'best thing I could ever ask for' because he doesn't try to trick me into dating him, doesn't follow me when I leave work, doesn't stalk me, doesn't interrogate me on every single action I make and doesn't annoy the shit out of me."
You give up once you realize Miguel might have stolen it again. He does this every time he takes you to lunch so you don't find a way to leave. Not without talking to him first. "Give me my wallet." He purses his lips. "No." "This is why."
"Please, just let me-" "You've done enough. Just please give me my wallet before I scream."
He shakes his head. "You wouldn't." You raise your eyebrows.
A silents is born. Just the sound of soft clattering from forks meeting plates fills the air. The soft music does nothing to calm you.
Finally, Miguel sighs and takes it out of his pocket and sets it on the table. As soon as you grab it, he sets his hand over yours.
You look up at him and he gives you a desperate look.
".......have a good night."
The cycle is bound to repeat tomorrow.

016. MANIAC (WRITTEN)
prev | next | masterlist
‘this was a mistake.’ was all that ran through hanni’s mind as she continued to sit in some random persons house, her friends next to her laughing their asses off.
she wasn’t sure how they had managed to convince her to tag along to this, hanni hated parties the thought of them making her gag. who wanted to sit around and get drunk with a bunch of people you don’t know?
the only people in their group sober were haerin and hanni, haerin occupying herself with danielle leaving hanni alone. with her thoughts of course, the worst time in her life for her to be overthinking.
to give more context one of matthew’s members decided to throw a party for his birthday, not notifying the friend group until a bit after their personal party had ended. hanni remembered it well, too well even as if it wasn’t hours ago now.
the group was sitting on minji’s couch, watching various movies when matthew got a call.
“hey ricky what’s up?” he said, his expression noticeably changing once ricky spoke.
“and you didn’t tell me until now? i’m already busy—“
“matthew half of the industry is going to be there, can’t you just continue your little hangout tomorrow?” ricky said loudly, allowing the whole group to hear.
matthew sighed in irritation, “fine but next time don’t tell me twenty minutes before.”
matthew hang up the phone after that, before turning to everyone.
“so basically ricky decided to throw me a party and not tell me about it, so now he wants me to be there in like twenty minutes.” matthew explains, confusion being left on everyone but gunwook’s face.
“we’re actually going? i mean, how far away is the venue?” minji asks.
“fifteen minutes..” matthew mumbles.
“bro we don’t have time for this, speak up.” gunwook chimes in.
“fifteen minutes?”
“are you serious?!”
yet they still ended up at the venue on time (ricky’s rich cousin’s house ?), much to hanni’s dismay. she never really explicitly stated she wanted to go, but she knew her friends needed a supervisor just in case haerin got distracted.
the main thing hanni was concerned about though was you, she knew if danielle was here there was no way you weren’t and after your argument a couple days before— hanni wasn’t sure if she was ready to see your face again. you had being nothing less of a bitch to her that day, making sure she knew you didn’t care about her which hadn’t left her mind since.
hanni wanted nothing more than to get over her feelings for you, but even after all that happened she couldn’t truly say she hated you. sure what all you did was unnecessary, but behind everything you said you seemed hurt.
if you truly wanted to hurt her, why would you feel bad? hanni didn’t miss the build up of tears on your waterline as you argued, making her feel the slightest bit of sympathy for you.
but overall and to the public eye, she wanted nothing to do with you. so hanni made it her mission to keep away from you at this party. and her mission ended now, your kuromi bag entering her sight causing her heart to drop. at this point the only person by hanni's side was haerin but she was too busy in conversation with danielle to save her.
you were presumably walking over there to collect danielle, sunoo trailing behind you. sunoo looked hanni in the eyes, the eye contact becoming uncomfortable as he glared at her. obviously sunoo didn't know the full story, of course you wouldn't let your friends in on how horrible you were to hanni.
you and sunoo seemed to be in slow motion in hanni's eyes, every step closer making her more anxious. she fought the urge to nudge haerin, realizing it would only make her closer to you the exact opposite of her goal at the moment.
the two of you made eye contact, the sharp look on hanni’s face making you sad. she seemed like she was doing well without you, unfortunately.
“danielle, our ride is here.” you say, noticing her perk up.
“oh okay, bye haerin!” dani waved to the girl, haerin waving back.
sunoo and danielle quickly walked away, but hanni noticed you linger a bit longer before picking up your feet and trying to catch up with your friends.
haerin raised a eyebrow at the way hanni eyes stayed fixed on where you once were. hanni wasn’t getting over you anytime soon, it was obvious to anyone at this point.
“hanni.” haerin called out to her.
“yes?”
“you need to get over her.”
a silent pause between the two proved haerin’s point, the latter sighing.
“i’m being serious, she’s destroying you.” haerin says.
“what are you gonna do once your off hiatus? aren’t you set for a tour later this year once your albums out?” haerin asks.
“i don’t know haerin, all my shits pushed back now.” hanni says, relaxing against the counter behind her.
“might not even get off of hiatus.” hanni says quietly, but loud enough for haerin to hear.
“don’t say that.” haerin warns, “hybe wouldn’t give you up.”
“are you sure? it seems like they already have.” hanni starts.
“it’s been forever now haerin.”
“hanni…”
“no don’t even say anything else, i’m just gonna get out of here i can’t do it anymore.” hanni says, grabbing her stuff.
“watch the others and tell matthew i said happy birthday and something came up.” hanni says, to which haerin nods.
haerin wasn’t going to fight with her anymore, they both knew well what was probably going to happen to hanni’s career.
haerin just wanted to keep postive.
hanni had no clue what she was thinking when she left that party. she had no ride, no hoodie to at least somewhat hide her appearance, and it was pouring rain outside.
hanni couldn’t break down out here, there was no telling if any paparazzi were around and she was already in trouble. she didn’t know what she would do if a headline got out, would it even matter anymore?
so she just sat there, staring at the ground before hearing footsteps. a voice perked up, presumably speaking to her.
“hanni what the hell are you doing—“ a familiar voice said, concerned.
“yn?” hanni said looking up.
“shit, i was hoping you wouldn’t recognize my voice.” you say.
“i don’t get drunk ever y’know that, wait nono— get away from me what did i tell you?!” hanni says in a panic.
“hanni, it’s late at night and it’s raining like crazy. can you at least let me take you home?” you say, to which she shakes her head no.
“i’ll wait for my friends.” hanni says, stubbornly.
“you can’t be serious.” you mumble, hanni not missing it.
“okay fine..” hanni says, she knew you didn’t have bad intentions.
“just don’t tell anyone, okay?” hanni warns.
“i won’t don’t worry, my friends are gone already anyways.” you say.
“then why are you still here?”
“i had a feeling.”
“what?”
“i had a feeling you would want to leave early.” you mumble.
“how did you have a feeling—“ hanni starts, getting cut off by you.
“okay maybe, i didn’t have a feeling.. i just knew, you don’t seem like the type to party.” you say, shaking your head.
you see hanni fight back her smile, making you laugh a bit.
“but anyways, here’s my car." you say, opening the passengers door for her.
"i have to sit next to you..?" she asks.
"okay." you sigh, you had done this to yourself obviously but it still hurt.
"get in the back then." you say closing the door, making your way over to the drivers.
“are you not gonna open it for me?”
“hanni.”
“okay sorry i’m getting in.”
the ride to hanni’s apartment building was silent, hanni on her phone the entire time ensuring haerin she found a ride home.
soon they reached hanni’s building and she got out.
“thank you.” hanni says, making you smile.
“anything for you.” you say quietly.
hanni walked off after, yn waiting to make sure she got inside safely before driving off. she knew hanni hated her bad, so the least she could do was keep her safe.
yn finally understood her feelings, she was in love with hanni pham.

Idk if you the song one of the girls but could you possibly write something based off of it with emo txt?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— emo rockstar txt!
warnings <3: mean txt but has a soft spot for reader, smut!, !cursing, inexperienced reader that’s sweet ): (inspired by a bunch of songs by the weeknd but mainly just one of the girls!), mentions of party, drugs snd sex basically, praise!
a/n <3: i love the weeknd..
you absolutely hated concerts, parties, packed public spaces basically anything that wasn’t the comfort of your pink bedroom.
another thing you hated was your lack of being able to stand up for yourself, naturally being a submissive and quiet person. often stumbling on your words making you curse at yourself internally.
tonight was especially one of the those nights were you actually wished you had a back bone and was able to say no to your small handful of friends because now you’re at one of those groupie parties you always feared of going to
you heard all of those horror stories where groupies go to dangerous lengths just to sleep with their favorite boybands and you were afraid of getting peer pressured into doing those scary acts to be quite frank seeing how reckless your small friend group was
“oh come on y/n don’t be a fucking pussy the guys here are hot” “i don’t know guys what if we get drugged and like taken advantage of?” you’d say your tears glistening with tears out of genuine worry ):
“you’re seriously wearing that? it looks like you’re heading to your elementary school graduation ceremony and your fucking mom dressed you up y/n. here wear this and take off those ridiculous ribbons in your hair what are you five?” your friend hands you a black slip on dress with a disgusted look on her face
“w-what’s wrong with my look? i think it looks okay” you’d frown looking down at your outfit, you were wearing a mini ruffle skirt with a baby long sleeve tee topping it off with your signature matching ribbons and stockings ):
“okay we’re here now don’t embarrass me yeah? find some guy to fuck i don’t care but when txt shows up pretend you don’t know me” your friend applies lip gloss on herself trying to hide a laugh at your high top converse
you nodded your head, blinking confused because you really didn’t know who tomorrow x together was
“come with me” you heard a deep raspy voice boom in your ears somehow loud enough to hear through the loud music playing throughout the house
you nodded your head slowly, once again being a follower who always follows the rules even if it was for a complete total stranger
“is this your first groupie party pretty?” the about 6ft foot emo boy whom you had no idea who he was spoke once he sat you down on a couch next to him
“yes i was really nervous to come here” you’d blush embarrassed to admit that out loud
the older male only smirked at your response, the drugs in his system making him even more attracted to you despite you both being strangers to each other
“is that so princess? let me guess you’re nervous to be alone with me too? i mean a cute girl like you doesn’t really belong at this type of party huh” the txt member (of your choice) would coo at you finding your nervousness adorable
you nodded cheeks feeling so hot you felt like you were going to explode; “you’re so cute” you’d hear the man beside you chucks as he lightly traced the skin on your thigh his hand reaching dangerously close to your clothed core
you’d shiver, “th-thank you” you let out a gasp feeling the emo male press light kisses on your neck
“relax baby im just making you feel good” you’d feel the older boy lightly pin you down on the couch beneath you making you shiver in fear
you felt scared to be hooking up with a total stranger, but at the same time you were excited
you let out a squeak as you felt a rough kiss being planted on your lips; the emo boy swirling his tongue desperately in your mouth just to get a taste of your candy flavored lips
“shit you’re so tight don’t tell me you’re a virgin” the rockstar above you grunts jackhammering his cock so aggressive in your cunt making you yelp
“i am” you whined squeezing onto the male’s board shoulders not used to the stretch
“gonna let me cum inside you baby?” the rockstar panted his hips stuttering so much at the feeling of you closing up on him
you nod your head, whimpering as you felt your orgasm wash over your body. this whole situation feeling like some type of blur before you felt yourself pass out possibly due to the drugs in your system.
“is that txt’s hoodie you have on?” you hear your friend shout causing you to wake up from the sound of her voice
“who?” you’d mutter yawning stretching your limbs
“oh come on i just told you who they were yesterday y/n but anyways how’d you get the hoodie? it’s wore by only members of the band” your friend raises a brow in confusion
you’d flush, “last night i was cold and this guy i hooked up with gave me his jacket to keep warm”
your friend gasps happy for you; “oh my god you got laid?!”
you’d whine, “it’s not that big of a deal we’re in college now after all”
your friend nods stopping her teasing, “right okay but who was the guy?”
you’d shrug, “im not sure he just had jet black hair, about 6 foot and korean? deep voice too”
“oh my god y/n you fucked a txt member!” your friend was giggling in delight
“oh” was all you said giggling as well
a/n: im obsessed with playing the last of us..

Hallo everyone!  Time for the tumblr update!
Summary:
Revising chapter 10
New BG art
New CG art
Writing:
Okay. So I am neeeeearly done with Chapter 10. I'm about 85% of the way through it and currently I have just Yren's content left to revise for this chapter.
As I mentioned last time, I am now embroiled in an epic battle with Chapter 10!
In my last update, this chapter was 73k words and I said I expected it to be over 80k. I don't know why I said that because the final word count, from the start, was always going to be over 90k....
Anyway, it's 88k right now and I'm expecting it to be around 93k when Yren's content is revised and pulled into alignment with the others in terms of length.
So I'm very close to completing it and I hope maaaaybe by the end of tomorrow?
Art:
Received a new BG since last time. BGs are around 70% complete now.
I also ended up doing work on a CG for chapter 2. Just trying to get a head start on any outstanding art I need for that chapter...
I went through the chapter and noted where I am pretty sure I'll be placing CGs...
It's a little tricky with early chapters because the characters aren't necessarily doing anything or having interesting interactions (I mean, the conversations themselves are interesting but they're not like...dramatic interactions I guess?) Since this is very much an establishing chapter, there are no dramatic plot moments, nor are there any romance or relationship moments. Characters are having conversations and learning about each other.
The characters sit and talk, walk and talk, stand and talk...
When the conversations are like "This is my homeworld, this is how I grew up, this is when I joined the ship, this is what I was doing before you found me sleeping in a box...."
Those are interesting conversations but not necessarily interesting to illustrate.
Even if I could get creative with a CG for one character, if I can't do it for everyone then I have to consider if it'll feel like one character got special treatment... So there's a lot of balancing and planning...
I'm still putting CGs in but it's possible that, in chapter two, they'll be more "Pretty art" than "Interesting illustration moments" LoL.
Upcoming Weeks:
So I'm hoping to get Yren's Ch10 revision done today or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow. Once that is done I have to proofread for typos (which is partially done but needs a few more checks to clean up some other stuff).
Then I will format the chapter into renpy....and...
After that I'll be revising Asher and Daaz's end game sequences. I think I should be able to get all of that done by my next update.
And after that, we shall see.
Still a ways to go before the writing is done but the light at the end of the tunnel is a bit brighter these days. So...looking forward to being done with the last of the hulking and difficult chapters.
Anyway, that is all for now. See you next time!

MICHAEL KAISER:
- Dating Kaiser was an entire rollercoaster, so getting around wasn't too hard. He had the money to afford limousine after limousine for you two, except when you two chose to go out on a hiking trip. "Good for training!" He said. He lied.
- Now here you two were, dashing home in the rain as makeup dripped down both of your faces. Kaiser had attempted to carry you, yet nearly slipped so you refused to get back in his arms.
- Around 10 minutes of moving, you realized how deep in this trail you were. It seemed Kaiser noticed too, as he sighed and finally paused.
- "Follow me!" He grasped your hand and ran you to a small cave. It was the sort of thing you saw in those stereotypical movies. It even made you wonder if Kaiser had purposefully planned this. Still, you got in.
- "Seriously? A cave?"
- He laughed, "Well, I'm not sure we have much of a choice, now do we?" He reached towards his own front and quickly unzipped his jacket to put around your shoulders.
- "For you."
- You pause and softly laugh, "I'm not some damsel in distress. Besides, this is soaked too."
- Kaiser just shrugged, getting closer to your warmth and leaning his head against your's. His arms soon wrapped around you as well. "Well, I might as well warm you up with my body."
- It wasn't like you had any complaints with that.
Tumblr media
KENYU YUKIMIYA:
- You weren't aware of who Yukimiya was beyond Blue Lock before this. He was one of the top 6 to you, one of the people who had been an essential part to the U20 match. Honestly? You hadn't ran into anyone from Blue Lock since this break had started.
- However, you had chosen to go outside now of all times in a brightly lit street with gleaming lights hitting your eyes. Even so, it was raining. It dropped off the signs and right onto your faces. You were one of the few people that didn't have an umbrella and didn't see any holders in sight.
- So, for 10 minutes, you walked through the freezing cold rain. You allowed the rain to make your shirt stick to your skin and make you shiver. The dissatisfactory feeling haunted you as you walked past a bowling place.
- Your eyes eventually landed on Yukimiya. You didn't expect to see him of all people out here, but it wasn't the best time for you. You didn't look good at all.
- But, of course, he had to notice you. His eyes narrowed as he saw you, giving a short chuckle and walking over to pull off his bright orange scarf over your head and dark grey coat over your shoulders without a word.
- He paused, "You shouldn't get yourself like this, you might not be able to face off against everyone in Blue Lock."
- "Wouldn't that be better for you?"
- "It would, I would just hate to see you like this." He reached up and pushed through your wet hair, "You should focus on getting home. It's getting dark."
- You paused to stare at him, before nodding, "Right, thank you Kenyu."
- "It's my pleasure. I'll see you tomorrow?" He smiled, starting to walk off yet looking over his shoulder to wave.
- And you matched that, tightening the coat around you to make a dash for your place once more.
Tumblr media
ALEXIS NESS:
- Oh how Ness is so doting over you. Every little thing, he wants to make sure you're perfectly pampered and feel special during the entire date! He's planned it out in his head for months, researched this festival multiple times, he won't let anything go wrong!
- Until it rains.
- You remembered being under one of the tents as it started to pour down. You just sighed and looked at your boyfriend. Yet he seemed pissed. He was biting his lip, staring at the ground and having issues with calming himself.
- You take his hand and laugh. For a second, he doesn't notice. Until you slip his jacket off his shoulders and pull it onto your head, covering yourself from the rain.
- Ness then notices, he seems confused until you speak again. "Oh my! Thank you Alexis for giving me your jacket."
- He pauses, softening his bite as his eyes light up. "Of course!" He adjusts it, holding it on your head and wrapped his upper body around you. "Let's make a run for it to our car, alright?"
- And minutes later, Ness is running and getting soaked while you're comfortable underneath his jacket. "Thank you..."
- "For what?"
- "For saving my perfect date." He smiled and pressed a kiss onto your forehead.

chapter 6 ⟹
“I just don’t know, Senator.” Your jaw ticked in your effort not to show the way you bristled with anger at the falsely disappointed words of yet another diplomat. “The problems are only getting worse, and Count Dooku is offering us much more than the Republic is.”
You furrowed your brow in frustration. “It’s not an equal exchange. Can’t you see that?” You looked around the massive, circular table full of Eirus’ highest-ranking officials, silently begging for them to understand your perspective. “Once they have their grip on our world, they will not let go. Their chosen government will absolve yours, and all of you will be outed while our people will be exploited and forced to work in their droid factories.”
The Prime Minister huffed an arrogant breath. “That’s a paranoid thought process, Senator.”
You fixed your intense stare on the Rodian. “It is not ‘paranoid’ when it has happened before on other worlds, Prime Minister. That makes it realistic.” You paused and looked around the group again. “And probable, if we cannot come to an agreement.”
“These attacks have only gotten worse since you arrived.” The Prime Minister wouldn’t back down. “Our people need order, and clearly, the Republic cannot provide that, seeing as it has failed to do so already.”
“It does not help that you have not implemented any of the resources the Republic and I have supplied you with from Coruscant.”
Another diplomat was quick to speak up. “Count Dooku is offering us even more resources.”
Your head snapped towards them. “And where is he now? Where are any of his officials?” You yet again waved a hand around, gesturing to the empty section of seats that would have been directly across from you. “They refuse to come here, yet here I am, trying to make things work in the best interest of all of you and our people.” You shook your head. “He cares so little about our world that he does not even value sending himself or someone else here on his behalf.”
Silence fell upon the diplomats as they considered your words. Some of them continued to stare at you, while others broke their gazes and looked around the room. You hoped that would promise some progress, but deep down, you knew the truth.
You rose from your seat and continued. “But I care.” Hunter’s words from the night before ran across your mind, warming your chest as you went on. “And because I care, the Republic cares, too.” You nodded. “I fought for this world once before, and I will do it again if I have to.”
The diplomats shared looks, but you didn’t care to read them. Your frustrated rage was boiling hot just beneath the surface of your skin. This was a room full of people who would do nothing to save your world, and you weren’t going to wait for them any longer.
“With that, I believe we can conclude today’s sessions.” The Prime Minister was the next to stand from his seat, his gaze averting yours altogether as he nodded at the group. “We will resume tomorrow, as usual.”
You composed yourself with a breath and kept your mask on, despite the overwhelming urge to embrace your frustration wholeheartedly. With a dignified nod, you turned to the captain of your guard, allowing him to escort you out of the room. Even just stepping through the threshold released a tense weight from your shoulders, though it was far from eliminating all the burdens you were holding there.
The biggest was no doubt the decision that had been looming over your head for the past day. It was becoming more clear which choice you had to make, but it wouldn’t be easy to go that route. You would manage, but the squad who would be standing behind you… would they be punished for their role in your rebellion?
Would Hunter be punished, even hurt, for your own actions?
It wasn’t a thought that you could bear. You had to force it to the back of your mind for now, especially since they hadn’t yet arrived at your doors for the night. That thought at least brought a smile to your face. They were enjoying a meal, if all was well, and that satisfied you. No matter what was to come, you were still providing them with something.
You had a meal in the privacy of your suite, one you had to force down thanks to the pit that had been created in your stomach. In the silence of your lonesome, you ran through plans and probabilities a dozen times. The advantage to being betrayed by those you used to fight alongside was that you knew their plays—because many of those plays had been created by you.
As eager as you were to continue planning, you were utterly relieved by the sound of knocking on your doors. You smiled and rose from where you had been sitting, smoothing out the skirt of your dress before you reached the doors. They opened to reveal the sight of both Hunter and Tech.
You addressed Tech first, bowing your head in his direction. “Tech.” He returned the gesture before glancing back down at his datapad. You fixed your stare upon Hunter, who was already gazing at you with a once-over you were both familiar with and never quite used to. “Sergeant.” The smile on your lips remained even as you lifted an eyebrow. “Another briefing, I presume?”
Hunter bowed his head. “That’s right, Senator.” His dark eyes sparkled with too many emotions to identify in an instant. “We found what we were looking for.”
You were hit with a puzzling mix of both relief and dread as you nodded. “Good. I look forward to hearing about it.”
With that, you turned and walked back inside, encouraging Hunter to do the same. It wasn’t until you heard the doors close that you fully relaxed with a deep exhale. You closed your eyes and turned around to face the sergeant, only reopening them when you were ready for whatever he had to say. His worried gaze was already searching your own.
“How much time do we have?” Your voice was stronger than you had expected it to be.
Hunter took a step closer to you. “Two nights.” His voice was even raspier than usual as he spoke, as if there were also invisible burdens he was hiding on his own shoulders. You furrowed your brow. “Tech was able to slice into their comm channel, and he ran an analysis on their past attacks to prove it.”
You nodded, a rush of adrenaline pumping through you. “Okay, that’s fine. We can work with two more nights’ time.”
Hunter returned your nod, though his stare never left yours. “Have you decided what you’ll be doing?” He asked the question slowly, clearly reluctant to bring the topic up.
“I have.” You raised your chin, but only for a moment. “I’m going to fight.” Your gaze fell from his as you crossed your arms over your chest.
In your silence, Hunter approached you, setting his free hand upon your chin just as he had done two times before—but not since your beautifully haunting kiss. It was hard to focus with that thought lingering in the back of your mind. Hunter’s voice, however, broke through your brief reverie. “Then we’ll fight with you.”
You tightened your jaw, drowning in the comfort of his dark gaze as you voiced your fears to him. “Will that be safe for you and your squad?”
Hunter’s brow knit together. “What do you mean?”
You sighed a light breath. “I know you’re all willing to disobey orders, and that it’s a big part of the reason why I brought you with me. But…” you paused, gaining courage in the softness of Hunter’s expression before going on, “is it safe for you to do that?”
Hunter huffed, his gloved hand moving from your chin to your cheek in a smooth, calming motion. “Trust me, Senator. They stopped trying to reprimand us a long time ago.” He nodded, his eyes searching your own. “You don’t have to worry about us.”
Your hand covered his as you began to smile at him once again. “That’s much easier said than done, Hunter.”
The corners of Hunter’s lips also widened. “I know.”
The silence that followed shifted something between you, bringing you back to that moment in the base by the village. Both your gazes flickered low as your heart steadily started to beat faster and faster. You were drawn to him by the invisible tether you had created between you, and when your nose brushed his, you were yet again at a loss for breath.
But Hunter spoke before either one of you could make a move. “I should let you rest, Senator.” His voice was nothing more than a soft breath.
You shook your head, tightening your grasp on the hand of his that continued to cup your face. “You don’t have to leave.”
Hunter considered your words, both his stare and his voice lowering as he did so. “If I kiss you right now, Senator, I won’t be able to stop.”
The way his words weakened your knees further proved that you couldn’t let go of this moment, one you had been hoping for ever since that night at the village. “I’m okay with that.”
You made the move to close the distance between you, but you were stopped by Hunter’s thumb on your lips. Your eyes fluttered open to see that his were closed, as if he was in pain. You furrowed your brow and waited for him to break your tense silence. When he reopened his eyes, you saw all the conflict within him—and though your heart was stricken with pain on his behalf, it also filled you with a frustrated flame.
Hunter finally spoke, but his voice was nothing more than a whispered plea. “Please.” He exhaled, moving his face away from yours to lower his head. “Make this easier for me.”
His refusal was the last fracture that made you crumble under the weight of all your pressures. You narrowed your eyes and shook your head at him. “No.” Your hand grabbed his wrist and forced it away from your face. Hunter’s stare rose to yours again, and this time, it was filled with a confused panic. “I won’t play this game, Hunter.”
Hunter blinked a few times, his lips parted before he found his words again. “What are you talking about?”
You scoffed. “Days ago, you were encouraging me to indulge in my wants, telling me I didn’t have to choose between them and my people’s needs.” You gave him a disbelieving once-over. “Now, it’s suddenly a problem?”
Hunter hesitated, and you could hear the breath he held in his chest. His gaze was lowered, but it darted around as he tried to collect his thoughts. “It’s never been my intention to confuse or hurt you, Senator.” His stare met yours, its brown depths clouded with too much emotion to decipher. “I guess I’ve still got a lot to figure out myself.” He shook his head, and each word he spoke was strained with meaning. “I’m sorry.”
An apology wasn’t really what you wanted to hear, as genuine as it was. “Well, I’ve made my choice.” You lifted your brow, as if you were challenging him. “You have to make yours.” You gave your head another shake. “Because I’m not letting you have it both ways. Not when I’m already being torn apart by this crisis.”
The pained crease in Hunter’s brow nearly made you regret saying the words, but there was no getting around it. You already had the weight of the galaxy on your shoulders, and you couldn’t take on another with such a push-and-pull relationship. He was going to have to choose.
“I should get some rest.” You stepped away from him to move towards your bedroom, trying your best to ignore the burn of his gaze on your back. “I trust that you can see yourself out, Sergeant?”
For the first time, your use of his title was nothing but bitter. When you gained the faith to look at Hunter again, he just nodded dutifully, turning on his heel to stride towards the doors of the suite. Before he got there, however, he stopped. His head turned over his shoulder so that all you could see was his profile. “Senator?”
You said nothing. It was clearly the invitation he was looking for to go on, and the hopeful part of you that wanted to be wrong about everything you had just said let him do so.
Hunter’s shoulders rose and fell with a steady breath before he turned to face you again. Still, he remained where he was, respecting the distance you had put between yourselves. “I was made for this war. I’ve never known a life without it, and I’ve never been able to think of a life beyond it.”
Your heart weighed heavy at the painful truth of his words. You lowered your gaze in shame as he went on.
“I’ve never even had the luxury of ‘wants’ outside of battle, especially with the squad in my care.” Hunter gestured with his head to the doors. “It doesn’t excuse me letting you get caught up in my own confusion, but…” he paused, his gaze once again lowered and searching before he went on, “I hope it helps you realize that you’ve never been the problem.”
Hunter’s stare found yours again, and a rush of strong flutters exploded within you at the breathtaking sincerity of his gaze.
“I know what I want. I’m just not sure if I can let myself have it.” Hunter looked over his shoulder. “For their sake as much as my own.”
You couldn’t think of any words to say. It was your turn to be speechless, lost in the weight of what he had so vulnerably shared with you. He had spent this entire mission understanding your perspective and prioritizing your desires, but you had made the mistake of never once trying to do the same for him.
“Goodnight, Senator.” Hunter dismissed himself with another nod before he walked through the doors that slid open for him, leading him back into the corridor.
As soon as he was gone, you shouldered the heavy weight of his absence. The doors closed at the same time your eyes did, your chest rising and falling with a deep, trembling breath. At the beginning, you had remembered it so well, the weight of Hunter’s own responsibilities that could put him at risk if you pursued a relationship together. But then the kiss had happened, and your rationality slipped away. Rather than talking to him about it, you sought more, more of what he knew he could not have.
Then, you made him feel bad about it. You ended up hurting him after all, long before he would even set foot into the upcoming battle. And of course he remained as honorable and genuine as possible, never once putting the blame on you.
You forced yourself to turn back to your bedroom door and walk through the threshold. As you settled into bed that night, it felt colder and emptier than ever—especially with the creeping fear that you may have ruined whatever potential you and Hunter had for a future together.
You woke earlier than usual that morning. The time on the chrono was still within Hunter’s window for his watch shift, and you couldn’t deny yourself a chance to at least apologize. You weren’t sure when you would get another opportunity alone with him, aside from the usual briefing later that night. You couldn’t wait that long to put an end to the anxious agony that had made your sleep so restless.
As you dressed for the day, your thoughts dwelled on your current inner crisis. The guilt consumed you whole, but so did the helplessness of the situation. You both wanted the same thing and you had no idea how to help him pursue that. Not when he had so many burdens on his shoulders already, burdens that he had quite literally been created with.
That could be explored later. For now, you just had to apologize. You reminded yourself of that as you headed to the doors of the suite, your pulse racing in anticipation as they opened for you.
You furrowed your brow when Echo turned around to face you. “Senator?” He checked the nearest chrono. “It’s pretty early for you to be awake.”
Your heart sank in disappointment, though you kept a small smile on your lips. “I have a lot to prepare for, Echo.” Was Hunter really so upset that he changed his watch shift?
The ARC trooper removed his helmet, revealing his raised brow. “At this time of the morning?”
You continued to mask with a soft huff. “It’s never too early to begin preparations.” You let out a deeper exhale, bowing your head. “But I’m sorry to have disturbed you, Echo. I…” You paused, trying to find a fitting lie.
“You thought it would be Hunter.” Echo’s words made your gaze snap back up to his. He was smiling, but when his stare caught yours, the smugness began to falter. “Did something happen?”
You swallowed hard, your gaze focusing on the sight of Hunter’s door beyond Echo. “I simply owe him an apology for something. That’s all.”
Echo looked as if he was going to question you about it, but he must have changed his mind. “Well, Hunter’s finally getting some sleep. He found out Wrecker hasn’t been getting enough rest, so he changed the shift schedule.”
Your chest constricted with a confusing number of emotions. “How so?”
“In typical Hunter style, he’s taking a double shift, now. Watching the doors for most of the night, getting maybe a few hours of sleep in before the wake-up call.”
You exhaled a soft breath. That was no surprise to hear, but the fact he hadn’t communicated such a change to you himself hurt worse than it should have. “I see.” You nodded at Echo. “Well, I’ll leave you to it, Echo. My apologies again.”
As you turned back to your doors, however, Echo went on. “If it’s any help, Senator, I don’t think he’s upset with you.” You froze, turning your rapt attention back to Echo. He lifted his brow. “He’s upset with himself.”
You faced Echo fully again and crossed your arms. “What makes you so sure?”
Echo sighed and looked at Hunter’s door. “When he gets upset with himself, he just… keeps to himself. Starts taking on extra responsibilities.”
You grimaced. “Like the watch shifts.”
Echo’s stare found yours again as he nodded. “Exactly.”
You held the side of your face with your palm and exhaled. “He shouldn’t be upset with himself. It’s my fault.”
Echo hesitated for only a moment before he spoke. “Well, Senator, if this is about what I think it’s about… it won’t be easy to convince him of that.”
Your self-loathing began to subside in your sudden concern for Hunter. You dropped your hand from your face and held your arms tighter. “Why?”
Echo shook his head. “Well, Hunter’s good at just about everything. Exceptional, even. But vulnerability?” Echo gave his head a fond tilt. “That’s not his strong suit. And if he thinks he hurt you somehow while he was already trying to be vulnerable…”
You were able to finish the thought. “He’s gonna shut me out.”
Echo stepped closer to you and set a reassuring hand on your shoulder. “But if anyone can get through to him, Senator, it’s you. I’m already amazed at how much you’ve been able to do that.” He chuckled and raised his brow. “Never seen the man so giddy before.”
Your ears burned as you laughed with him. You took his hand from your shoulder and held it between yours in pure gratitude. “Thank you, Echo.” You sighed and let your worry consume you for a moment. “I just hope he’ll give me the chance to help him.”
“Based on how he spoke about you last night during the schedule change?” Echo huffed as he slid his helmet back on over his head. “You don’t have to worry about that at all.”
You beamed, giving your head a fond shake as you turned back to your doors and stepped through them. They closed behind you, and though you should have tried to get more rest, you had too much to think about. You were already planning the next private conversation you would have with Hunter, one that would hopefully go much smoother than last evening did.
This at least made time move by faster, and soon, it was time to reemerge. You approached the doors with a new mindset, preparing yourself for a whole different kind of battle than the one you would be facing tomorrow.
When the doors opened, you were shocked to see that Hunter was already standing there with Echo. Your heart skipped a surprised beat at the sight of him, though the way he was already concealing his face from view with his helmet forced a pulse of disappointment through you.
Hunter’s visor turned to you, and you were caught in the intensity of it. He nodded, breaking the gaze almost straight away. “Good morning, Senator.”
The corners of your mouth tightened before you returned the gesture. “Sergeant. I hope you were able to get some rest.” It was time to give him a push, to see if Echo was right about his true motivations for taking yet another responsibility on his shoulders. You glanced at the ARC trooper. “Echo told me you changed the shift schedule.”
Hunter tilted his helmet. You wished more than anything that you could see his eyes. “It’s better this way. Now, everyone gets equal rest.”
You furrowed your brow. “Everyone except for you?”
Hunter straightened his posture at that. “I’ll be fine, Senator. I’m used to it.”
You still wouldn’t back down. “Cutting back on rest before such a dangerous mission isn’t a very wise choice, Sergeant, regardless of whether you’re used to it or not.”
Hunter sighed and set a hand on his hip. “Senator—.”
Echo cleared his throat when the squad’s doors began to open. You looked past Hunter to see Wrecker and Crosshair making their way over, and it was more than likely that Tech would emerge from your suite at any moment. You folded your hands behind your back and took a deep breath for composure. Once Tech had arrived, you spoke up to the gathered group first. “What are your squad’s plans for today, Sergeant?”
Hunter’s helmet turned towards you slowly, as if it was a cautious movement. “Scoping out their camp again. We need to get as much information as possible before we put our official plans in place.”
You nodded. “I concur. Will the briefing be tonight?”
Hunter shook his head. “We’ll do it tomorrow. I want it to be fresh.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Will I at least be briefed on today’s findings?”
Hunter lifted both hands to his hips. “If there’s anything to report, then yes.”
You gave him a disbelieving once-over. Never before had Hunter pushed back on keeping you as in-the-loop as possible. Now, after already failing to notify you about the watch schedule change, he was going to avoid your usual evening briefings.
You were going to have to push him even harder.
Tech tried to speak up into your stunned silence. “Given how much we already know, it is doubtful that we will find anything—.”
“Considering this is an attack on my home village, Sergeant, I would appreciate receiving details on any and all findings, no matter how small.”
“We can make that possible,” Echo cut in, clearly trying to both help you and ease the tension. “I’m sure we’ll find something worth noting.”
“That makes one of us,” Crosshair muttered.
“I have to say, I am with Crosshair on this one,” Tech added. “Like I attempted to share before, it is doubtful that—.”
Hunter was the one to cut him off that time. “I don’t want to waste any of your time if we don’t find anything worth noting, Senator.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Anything that has to do with my home village is not a ‘waste of time,’ Sergeant.”
Hunter exhaled and held a hand against his helmet. “That’s not what I meant.”
“It kinda sounded like it was,” Wrecker insisted. Hunter’s helmet snapped towards him, making Wrecker shrink back in surprise.
“Listen.” Echo continued to be the voice of reason as he cut into the noise. “We’ve got tons of daylight on our side right now. We’ll make sure we can find something for you by tonight, Senator, if only to put your mind at ease. All right?”
You nodded at him. “I like that plan of yours, Echo.” Your gaze flickered to Hunter’s visor, but only for a moment. “It’s a sensible approach.”
With that, you strided off, heading to your guards who awaited you at the far end of the corridor. The further you got from the group, however, the harder it became to leave them behind. Hunter’s stare was burning so intensely into your back that you were half-convinced he would leave a mark behind. Clearly, whatever you were doing was working to a degree, but you didn’t want him to get the wrong idea.
You had never wanted to show a person they were deserving of love so badly before.
Throughout your diplomatic sessions for the day, your thoughts dwelled with Hunter and the two battles you were fighting. There was no point in participating in diplomacy any longer; you would keep your mask on and leave it at that. Yesterday had proven that these officials were far beyond saving. You could afford to let your thoughts stray in these sessions if it meant that all the people you were actually trying to help would be saved—if they would let you, Hunter included.
The day trudged on, but eventually, it came to an end. You were relieved to be heading back to your suite, even with the anticipation of facing Hunter again. You had rehearsed conversations in your mind a thousand times throughout the day, leaving you more prepared than ever to speak to him.
But when you got to your doors, he was nowhere to be found. It was Echo who awaited you with a half-hearted smile. You returned it even as you raised your brow and looked around the end of the corridor.
“Good to see you again, Echo.” You nodded at him, and he returned the gesture. “Where’s your squad?” You lowered your voice to keep it between the two of you. “And the sergeant?”
Echo exhaled and closed his eyes. “I tried my best, Senator.” Your chest tightened as Echo’s eyes reopened, his stare meeting yours. “Hunter insisted on staying later at the camp tonight, and he’s got Crosshair and Tech with him. Wrecker and I are covering the watch shifts until they get back.”
You frowned and attempted to ignore the worried pang that gnawed at your stomach. “How long will they be gone?”
Echo shook his head. “I’m not sure. I don’t think it’ll be too long.” He offered a hopeful smile. “Hunter doesn’t like to leave you on your own, even now.”
You scoffed and held your arms with your hands. “It doesn’t feel that way.”
Echo took a step closer to you. “I will say, Senator, that he stayed because he wanted to be able to bring back something new for you.” He lifted the corner of his mouth in a genuine smile. “Just like you had asked him to.”
You softened, though your frustration and worry continued to fester within your chest. “Well, it works very conveniently with his plan to avoid me.”
Echo huffed. “Yeah. For now.” He nodded at you again. “Just give it time. You’ll have your chance.”
You set a hand on Echo’s shoulder. “I hope you’re right, Echo.” You added a pat before you walked over to your doors and watched them open for you. “Make sure you get some rest, okay?”
Echo called into the suite after you. “You too, Senator.”
You smiled to yourself at his meaningful concern for you as the doors closed, leaving you in your lonesome once again. Though you wished more than anything that you would be getting an evening briefing from Hunter again, and thus an opportunity to talk to him, Echo had been right. He just needed time—and maybe you did, too.
But neither one of you had time, and that was the problem. Tomorrow’s battle would more than likely put an end to this mission, whether you were successful or not. Waiting was the last thing you wanted to do. You couldn’t bear the thought of letting both your world and Hunter slip through your fingers.
Despite these strong worries, you were able to do what Echo had gently requested you to. Your body was exhausted with the weight of all the burdens you had been putting on it, and it wasn’t long before you were able to fall into a deep sleep.
You weren’t sure what time it was when you heard the door to your bedroom open.
The knife was thrown before you could even sit up. Rather than hitting you, however, it disarmed a mysterious shadow at your side. You tried to kick your startled body into action, but before you could roll away to the other side of the bed, you were seized by the shadow’s two strong arms. They forced you out of the bed as they held you tight against their front, soon adding a blade to your neck as you were forced to look at whoever stood in the threshold of your door.
Hunter. You nearly breathed his name in your strong relief, despite the situation. His helmet was on, but you didn’t need to read his face to see all the panic and tension he held for you. The slight tremble of his blaster that was raised at your attacker spoke for him.
“Move, and she’s dead,” your attacker snarled. It wasn’t a voice you were familiar with, at least.
“Let her go,” Hunter warned in a menacing tone you’d never heard from him before, “or you’re dead.”
“Sergeant,” you called for him, raising your brow as his visor met your gaze. His protectiveness meant everything to you, but your injuries policy still stood. He had to understand that, even now.
“Quiet.” Your attacker’s voice shook with nerves as he tightened the blade on your neck. You grunted at the movement, but you weren’t alarmed by it. It was predictable. “Put down the blaster.”
Hunter tilted his helmet, and his grip on the weapon only tightened. “Yeah, I don’t really do that whole ‘following orders’ thing.”
You spoke up just after him. “Neither do I.”
You held your attacker’s arms and pulled yourself down as hard as you could, flipping him over your back. You rose back to your full height and took up Hunter’s discarded knife, but the sergeant had already shocked the attacker. His blaster, however, was now aimed behind you.
You stepped and turned just in time to avoid an attempted blow from a second attacker, who had hopped through the same open viewport as the other. Gripping Hunter’s knife tighter, you lunged towards them, jabbing the blunt end of the blade against their wrist to disarm them. Just as you leaned back to avoid another blow, the blue light of Hunter’s shot hit the attacker, stunning them and sending them into a steaming heap on the floor.
You steadied your breathing as you rushed over to the viewport, leaning out to make sure there were no others. When you closed it again and stepped away, you were immediately met with Hunter’s concerned expression, his helmet and blaster having been left behind on your bed.
“Are you okay?” Hunter’s brow was knit together, and his voice was strained as his dark gaze gave you a thorough once-over. Your ears burned when you remembered that you were still in your small nightgown. “Did they hurt you?” One of his hands held your shoulder as the other ran over your neck, where the attacker’s blade had been.
“I’m fine.” You kept your voice soft and nodded at him. “Thanks to your senses.”
Hunter exhaled a relieved breath, and as the adrenaline wore off, you could see him returning to his usual self. He withdrew his hands from you and returned your nod. You grimaced at the distance he was putting between you again as he reached for the comlink on his belt and spoke into it. “Boys, we’ve got infiltrators. Crosshair and Tech, do a perimeter sweep, make sure there aren’t any more. Echo, watch the outside door. Wrecker, I’ve got two men in the senator’s suite that I need you to take to the brig.”
You looked down at the unconscious attackers as he spoke. They weren’t any of the trained fighters you would have recognized, and that at least made one glaring truth evident. “These are rogue assassins.” You spoke before you even knew if Hunter was listening to you. “They’re not trained fighters.” Your gaze rose back to Hunter’s, which was watching you with both concern and curiosity. “If they were, that would’ve been a much harder fight.”
“And the trained fighters wouldn’t have jeopardized their upcoming mission.” Hunter lowered his stare to the two men and took a deep breath. “You’re right.”
You attempted both a smile and a joke. “Aren’t I always?”
That at least got Hunter to huff. The sound warmed your chest with a sweet flame, though it was quickly snuffed out when Hunter continued to avoid your gaze. Maybe pushing him wouldn’t be the solution, after all.
You sighed and wrapped your arms around yourself, suddenly conscious of the way you were dressed. “Thank you, Sergeant.”
Hunter’s stare found yours in disbelief. “For what, Senator?”
You chuckled and gestured to the bodies on the floor with your eyes. “For saving me.”
Hunter softened, even as his jaw tightened. There was a swirling cloud of emotions in his gaze that made it hard to resist reaching out for him. “You shouldn’t have to thank me for that.”
Wrecker entered the room before either one of you could continue. He gave himself some time to stretch before he bent down to pick up the unmoving men. “Looks like you two got ‘em easy.” Wrecker let out a hearty chuckle and nodded at you in approval. “Good work, Senator.”
You smiled and nodded at him. “Thank you for your help, Wrecker.”
Wrecker returned your nod and turned to Hunter. “You said you want ‘em in the brig, Sarge?”
“Yeah.” Hunter had already holstered his blaster, and he had his helmet tucked underneath his arm. “We’ll talk to them in the morning. For now…” he gestured to you with his head, but he didn’t look at you, “we should let the senator rest and recover.”
No, rest was the last thing you needed. What you needed was the same man who had just come to your rescue, and you weren’t letting him walk away again. As he started to follow Wrecker, you stepped forward, tightening your hands around yourself. “Sergeant?”
Hunter’s head turned back to you. You let your vulnerability show as you pleaded with your eyes, and your shoulders shook with a deep, trembling breath.
“If I could speak to you for just a moment?”
Hunter couldn’t deny you, just as Echo had insinuated before. He only turned to nod at Wrecker and dismiss him. Wrecker continued on through the threshold, leaving you and Hunter alone in the darkness of your bedroom.
You wasted no time getting to the point. “I owe you an apology.”
Hunter let out a heavy sigh, his head hanging in a guilt he wasn’t even trying to hide. “No you don’t.”
“I do.” You took a step closer to him. “I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that last night. What I should’ve done is remember that this isn’t as easy of a decision for you to make as it is for me.”
Hunter’s gaze darted around as he considered your words. You took his silence as an invitation to keep going.
“But you don’t have to avoid me. I understand that I was unreasonably harsh, and I can’t emphasize how deeply sorry I am for that, but… is this really what you want, now?”
The pain in your voice caused Hunter’s stare to find yours again. His dark eyes did nothing to hide the conflict he was holding deep within him, and neither did the strain of his voice as he spoke. “It’s not what I want at all, Senator.” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “But I have to avoid you, because I don’t trust myself to be alone around you. I’ll only end up giving in and hurting you again, and that’s not something I’m willing to do.”
Your chest ached for him, but you still took another step closer, keeping your voice level as you spoke. “Your avoidance is hurting me more than the alternative would.”
Hunter’s eyes snapped back open at that, and they were widened in the same panicked way they had been last night. You softened and offered him a reassuring nod.
“Ever since we met, you’ve done all you can to understand me. To show me a sweet kind of sympathy I’ve never gotten before. And I… I never did that for you, at least not in the same way.”
You let your arms fall to your sides, opening up to him completely.
“Now I understand. I understand that this decision isn’t as easy for you as it is for me. But I think that’s because you’re forgetting something.”
You paused, giving Hunter the opportunity to speak. When he continued to remain silent, his jaw tight and his brow furrowed, you went on.
“It’s the same thing you’ve been reminding me this entire time. That I’m not alone.” Another step caused you to be nearly chest-to-chest with him. You reached a hand up towards his face, keeping the movement slow to let him stop you—but he didn’t. Your palm met his cheek, and he started to melt against it. “Neither are you, Hunter.”
Hunter’s eyes closed again, but this time, the motion was less desperate. He finally looked at ease, and you smiled to yourself at the progress you were making.
“If this is something you want… if we’re something you want… you don’t have to figure it out on your own.” You lifted your other hand to the tattooed side of his face, nodding once he had opened his eyes to look at you again. “I’ll be right here, and you know your squad will, too.” You giggled. “Especially Echo.”
Hunter laughed with you at that. It was a soft chuckle full of the same warmth you had gotten to see from him before. A hopeful flame burned within your chest, along with another that was deeply rooted inside of you. It was getting harder to ignore, and you let it fuel you as you leaned your face closer to his.
“Let me help you, Hunter, if that’s what you want.” You searched his gaze, which was only getting softer the more you spoke. “You gave me a choice before, and like I said last night, I’ve made mine. Now, you’re free to make your own.” You brushed your nose against his. This time, the motion drew a soft breath from his lips rather than your own. “Do you want this?” Your eyelids fluttered, your heart racing as your lips just barely touched his. “Do you want me?”
All the worries and pleas had been freed from your chest. You could only wait on him, now, even if every single part of your mind, heart, and body pleaded with you to close the distance. Like you had said, he had given you the choice before. This time, it would be his.
For a moment, Hunter pulled back, and your chest tightened with worry. Then, his hand wrapped around the back of your neck, and his lips were on yours for the first time in much too long.
