Eddie’s live-streaming from bed, giving his opinion about the Lord of the Ring movies since he’s currently rereading the books. Meanwhile, Steve is next to him fighting for his life just trying to get to sleep.

It is after eleven o’clock. Steve’s been trying to fall asleep since nine. He has tried everything.

He’s drank water. He’s got up and walked around for a bit. He called in a party check-in so he knows everybody is safe. He’s changed his pajamas twice, switched out his pillow, and played music.

Eddie is upstairs because he’s basically Steve’s white noise machine, but it’s doing nothing for him this time.

Steve’s currently tearing the comforter off the bed to replace it when Eddie cuts himself off mid-sentence like, “C’mere, baby.”

“Eddie, I can’t. I’m-“

“I know. I know, just come here. Fifteen minutes max. Yeah, lay down. Get the blanket.”

Steve is just barely humoring him when he lays back down in bed. Eddie grabs him and pulls him closer, resting Steve’s head on his chest as he grabs his book off his nightstand.

Eddie reads eight pages of Fellowship of the Ring while absently running his fingers through Steve’s hair before Steve’s snoring. Eddie finishes his page and then picks back up the camera like, “So anyway.”

i just finished the chapter of dm where they revive falin and there was a part that got me. falin was fully digested when they freed her. they used that dragon carcass to revive her. after, they ate of the dragon. the same dragon, mind you, that had eaten falin. my brain is too tired right now to complete this thought but i’m noticing the recurrence of cycles. the food chain, the cycle of life, how much of the dragon is falin and how much of falin is the dragon. hm.

Was talking today with a friend about how monumental it was for me as a trans person and a lesbian who was uncomfortably presenting feminine, to meet my butch best friend in college, and how just being friends with them, and hearing about their experience as a butch really allowed me the space to feel comfortable exploring my own gender expression and identity, and how I feel like I’m a more complete person for having known them because they made me feel so incredibly safe in the journey and I now feel so much more comfortable presenting the way I want to and not the way I expect people to want me to, and the friend I was talking to said that I was that for them. So dress as faggy as you fucking want to and be as loud as you want to about it. It’s your god-given right to be DRIPPING with dykery and transgenderism because you never know if you’re going to be that lightbulb moment or safe queer space for someone!

older butch lesbians, living happily as butch women, who say “if I were a kid now I would have been a trans man instead of a lesbian” are a whole lot closer to being trans— not ‘potentially’ trans, not ‘might have been’ trans, but really, actually, literally, trans, in their present lived experience, she/her and all— than they are to being transphobic. but I don’t think any of you are really ready for that conversation.
