ok still thinking about episode 6 and i just can’t get over that Mhok was CRYING during this interaction

there were so many other moments when it would have make sense to see Mhok cry; being told to leave the birthday party, realizing he liked Day at the bridge, seeing August kiss Day, but he didn’t because those moments all revolve around his own feelings

no, what made Mhok cry was that August hurt Day. It’s Day’s feelings that make Mhok cry, knowing that August was pitying Day and saying those hurtful things while Day was standing right there. He’s frustrated and hurt and he’s hurt for Day too.

Mhok is just so incredibly empathetic and it kills me that he thinks he’s not soft or tender because he is, he is so full of love that he cries for the boy he loves when the boy’s crush hurts him even though he was willing to step aside for him (initially at least., Mhok is only human and i’m glad he was ready to fight back for Day with the sunflower at the end bc i am an August hater first)

No Vecna/S4 horrors, just... Steve who's so insecure and afraid of being abandoned that he can't help but think Eddie's replacing him in the eyes of the kids. That's the real reason he won't play D&D and avoids HFC. Because he feels like almost everyone he loves eventually slips away and this is just it happening again. (He never tells Robin how scared he is that once she goes off to college, he'll lose her too. Same with Nancy.) Eddie who projects this massive weirdo vibe because society can't reject him if he rejects himself. Afraid he'll never be as cool as Steve to the kids even as much as they love him as a DM. He feels like shit every time the kids go into Steve hero worship mode again because no one has ever talked about Eddie like that. And once he's not their DM anymore, well... (He never tells anyone that one reason he works so hard at guitar is to make himself irreplaceable.) This comes to a head at Dustin's birthday party. Steve and Eddie are taking verbal swipes at each other. It gets bad enough that Dustin plots and locks them both in a closet together. "Oh no, the lock broke and can only be opened through the power of two LEGAL ADULTS getting their SHIT TOGETHER." For a while, Steve and Eddie sit in silence, arms crossed. The tension finally breaks with Steve cracking a joke about Dustin's attitude problem, Eddie playfully joking back.

And then it's Eddie telling Steve about the way Dustin worships him, about the way the kids constantly talk about Steve with wonder and so much obvious love. How they spent a whole session fighting over who'd get to invite Steve to Christmas dinner, not out of pity, but because they all wanted him around.

And it's Steve telling Eddie the kids haven't shut up about him since they met him. How in November, Dustin was already mourning Eddie graduating, not because Eddie's an incredible DM, but because he gave them a space to be strange and different without fear. He never asked them to change and never wanted them to. They talk for ages until Dustin comes and lets them out for cake. When the party's over and they've split up ride duty, they meet up for milkshakes and talk more. By the time the day is over, they wonder why they haven't been friends the whole time.

And something feels different when it's all said and done. Settled. It's a frequent thing after that, for them to share the nice things that get said about the other behind their back.

It's like they're both acting as mirrors, held up to show the other that they do have people who care deeply, that they have a family, that said family's not going anywhere soon. (For them to start having their own nice things to say to the other's face, for them to realize that families always have room to grow.)

Power Rangers Ninja Storm Headcanons

Kanoi Watanabe promised his wife that Cam wouldn't be a ninja, but still trained his son with a ninja's fighting style. He also found someone to train his son in the ways of a samurai after she died to honor his late wife

Cam is homeschooled, which is partly why he's so awkward around people who aren't his family or his friends (his team)

Dustin's comic book collection is vast and extensive. He has a massive amount of Power Rangers, DC, and Marvel, but also small-time comics. He also watches anime and reads manga

Shane got into skateboarding because his parents were always busy and never had time to run him anywhere, so he started skateboarding so he could take himself

Shane, Dustin, and Tori are childhood friends, they met when they were in grade school and have remained besties ever since

Cam's issue with the Wind Ninja Rangers wasn't that they're late or underperforming, it's that he knows Rangering is a dangerous business and he didn't want to get attached to Shane, Tori, and Dustin, and then lose someone else he cares about

Cam's birthday is a sensitive subject for him, he never feels like celebrating, because his mother died on the day he turned six

Cam keeps the amulet to honor his mother, but also because he's grown accustomed to wearing something around his neck. Before he, Blake, and Hunter went to retrieve their Ranger powers, Cam actually bought a jade pendant to wear around his neck just to alleviate the strange feeling of not having his mother's amulet with him

Blake and Hunter knew deep inside their hearts that Lothor was lying to them from the start, but they were blinded by grief and anger and couldn't listen to their instincts

Dustin is an "airhead" and this leads to him forgetting things more than once, which is why if it's something common or forgotten often, Tori and Shane care spares with them everywhere

Dustin has ADHD

Shane, Dustin, and Tori would kill for Cam if asked or given half a chance, Cam is their favorite person (besides each other and their s/os) and they're highly protective of him, even after he becomes a Ranger

The Ninja Rangers keep a special eye on the other Ninja teams and also the Samurai team, not because they're jealous or anything but because they're ready to jump in and help if necessary

Cam trained both Antonio Garcia and Levi Weston, he's protective of them and is always happy to take their calls. He can and has dismissed classes early when they call during those classes

The reason Cam didn't get sucked up with the rest of the school is because the Power had already chosen him. The Power protects its chosen Rangers, so Cam wasn't taken with the school when it was sucked up into the air

It took Blake and Hunter forty-five minutes to capture Cam when they went to get Kanoi. Cam doesn't hold it over their heads, but he will on occasion mention it when they're particularly cocky or arrogant (ie.: "It took you forty-five minutes to capture a regular, everyday ninja while in your morphed forms, I don't think you should talk about being 'the greatest ninja ever.'")

Cam is the youngest of the team, being a year younger than the other Rangers. Hunter is the oldest at 19, then Tori, Shane, Blake, and Dustin at 18, then Cam at 17

Hunter already graduated high school and Cam has graduated college (genius that he is), but Shane, Dustin, Tori, and Blake all graduated between Scent of a Ranger and I Love Lothor

Shane, Tori, and Dustin are Soulmates, platonic or not. Other Soulmates include: Shane and Dustin, Tori and Blake, and Hunter and Cam

Shane, Tori, Dustin, and Cam have a trauma bond, they're also quite literally ride or die, fuck with them at your own risk

Cam can and has made surveillance footage around Ninja Ops disappear when asked bribed

Blake and Hunter were adopted at the same time and have known each other since they were infants

Blake and Hunter are also wary around water, as their element is electricity

Cam both does and doesn't have a ninja element. The Wind Ninja Academy teaches the way of the Air, Earth, and Water Ninja while the Thunder Academy has a Lightning Ninja specialty, but there's no way to teach the element of Energy

Tori was Shane's original second-in-command, but once Hunter and Blake joined the team, Tori stepped back and let Hunter take his place as the second-in-command

The Wind and Thunder Morphers would be disguised as bracelets, but the Rangers never asked how to disguise them, and Cam thinks it's funny to watch them walk around with big bulky equipment on their wrists.

[Warning: child death] Cam, Kapri, and Marah are related in blood. Lothor and Kanoi had an older sister who left the family the second she turned 18 and hasn't been heard from since. The only way they knew she was still alive was Kapri and Marah's existence. Kara Watanabe, unfortunately, died in childbirth trying to deliver Kapri and Marah's baby brother, neither she nor the baby survived

Shane, Dustin, and Tori all moved to California, which is why Shane and Tori didn't think Power Rangers were real outside of comics

Dustin has a cat, Junebug. She's a grey-and-white tabby with bright green eyes. Dustin found her on the side of the road as a kid and he brought her with him to California

Cam would love to own a snake, but Kanoi has never liked snakes and Cam doesn't have time to care for one. That being said, the other Rangers get him one for his birthday and promise to help him care for the little thing. It's a beautiful yellow boa and Cam adores him. His name is Banana (courtesy of his former owner) and Cam can often be found wearing the snake around his neck or on his arm when he's not teaching a class

Cam earned a nickname only the Rangers are allowed to use for him: Camera. This is due to his exceptional work with recording devices and picture-taking. Others can try to use this nickname and Cam will either not respond, or flip said person depending on his mood

MY FINAL POST ON THE GREAT BRAZIL MEET UP

and i CAN tag this as qsmp because i had so many thoughts abt how they paired the first round of folks up to care for the egg children while everything was going on this past week (also phil and fit said it was five days, i refuse to believe it was that short)

BUT TRULY i commend quackity + the admins + whoever else was in the processing of choosing who to pair up with who because ??! absolutely crazy how these duos get along irl

FIRST case in point has to be mariana! y'all i was part of the group that was trying to figure who exactly was going to brazil, so i ended up seeing those clips of mariana thinking out loud on whether or not to go to twitchcon vegas BECAUSE !! he had already asked charlie / slime that day if he was going and was told no !! y'all can you see the vision, the first english-speaking cc he asked was charlie, even said he thought of him because he lives in the US

and charlie namedropping mariana during the qsmp meetup stream ?? THEY'RE BESTIES YOUR HONOR

ultimately i just think it's crazy how these school project teams turned out (save for maximus and fit, raising a glass to the sky for y'all SALUD). you get phil and missa finally meeting irl, phil mentioning how missa forgot his gifts from japan but that was okay because HE was the true gift, and isn't that the truth what with everyone talking abt how nice missa was to interact with !! we got that beautiful trio photo of jaiden, roier, and cellbit WHICH WAS SO GOOD an absolute cherry on top to one of if not the BEST egg parents on the island (VUELA ALTO BOBBY). and yeah, of course if slime was going to mention mariana on stream, he had to imply foolish was thinking of vegetta, but people's reactions to foolish and his builds being like 'yeah he's vegetta's sounds right' is ENOUGH of a confirmation !!

Hmmm. I was looking up those recs on amazon tonight, and while on there I noticed that they print physical copies of people's self-published books without upfront costs for the author when there’s a sale🤔 I know some of you have asked about physical copies over the years so I started looking into it a bit more. 

Don’t think I know enough about how all that works just yet to form any opinions, amazon is a very unfamiliar world to me lol. It did seem like I’d have to go exclusive and pull any and all writing from digital platforms if I wanted to publish through some of those services, and I just don’t know about that… 

Oh well. It’s definitely something I will look into a bit more to learn how it all works, I do love the idea of physical copies xx

Husband has been away for a week for work, so we haven't had much of a chance to talk chickens since the new ordinance passed. But I think we may be on the same page now regarding the run.

I suggested adding 2 gates to the garden fence (one to the compost area and one to the run) and covering the garden with bird netting in the winter to expand the run. He countered with the thought that we could add some taller supports/fence posts and keep the garden netted year round. Obviously the chickens wouldn't be able to have free use of the run during the growing season, but it would make it convenient to give them supervised garden time to help with pest control (damn squash bugs).

Oohh, and it might be the push we need to convince him to do no-till gardening. We didn't till last year and used the grass clippings as mulch to help keep down the weeds. But I think it was more of a he ran out of time thing. But if we have support poles in the garden it would make tilling even more difficult so like why bother

I’ve noticed in the Inside videos that Virg’s mascot always has an extra shirt or jacket on, (usually too long/big for them but adorably so). I assume that Virgil brings like, an extra children’s-sized (but large enough to cover potentially any age mascot) item for each kid to keep them warm?

It is so sweet and so dad of him to do that.

Rambles but this year I’ve made it my goal to get into different creative hobbies and Ive done that!! After primarily drawing for my entire life it’s been really fun and a nice change of pace

but now every time I feel like I want to draw I just want to crochet instead and havnt properly drawn in a couple months(I think since June so almost 3 months)

but I have learned that I have a good creative and problem solving mind and also learned that I prefer the separation between job and creating. So I don’t think I’m really gonna make money based on my art or crafts

Ranger Series Operators Headcanons

Ziggy isn't an orphan, he has a father. His father runs another cartel and has been quietly running it underground so far that not even the other cartels have heard more than whispers of.

Dillon and Tenaya's birth names are Daniel and Genevieve

Tenaya's implants are more complete than Dillon’s so once Venjix is defeated, she remembers everything. Dillon's memories come back slowly

Summer, Scott, and Flynn are ride-or-die friends. They'd hide bodies for each other if necessary and can communicate without speaking if necessary

Dillon thinks he stayed in Corinth for Summer, under the impression that she was the one who hooked that first fight into the satellite for Dillon’s borrowed car. Ziggy, forever the king of playing himself down, doesn't correct Dillon, he's just happy Dillon stayed.

None of the Series Operator Rangers are straight. Scott, Flynn, and Summer are all bisexual, Dillon is unlabeled and likes anyone (demisexual if he vibed with labels), Ziggy is gay (or bisexual leaning towards men), and Gem and Gemma are queer. Doctor K is the only one who's straight

If he knew to go looking, Dillon would find his parents' graves in the Wastes. They died protecting their children from Grinders, they were traveling to Corinth. Dillon's car belonged to his father

Gem and Gemma have a form of telepathy left over from the experiments done on them at Alphabet Soup, it's why they can finish each other's sentences

Ziggy has had a crush on Scott, Flynn, Dillon, and Gem, and a platonic one on Summer. He can't help it! They're badasses and Ziggy’s got a thing for people who could obviously kick his ass

Flynn is the oldest of the core Rangers at 25, Scott is 24, Dillon and Summer are both 21, Summer being a few months younger, and Ziggy is 18. Gem and Gemma are in their late 20s, Doctor K is 19

Dillon didn't just click with Ziggy, he actually only tolerated his Wastes partner for the few weeks they were in the Wastes together. But, somehow Ziggy grew on him

Ziggy is Dillon’s best friend, baby brother, and maybe more rolled up into one. Dillon adores Ziggy, but won't let it show. Ziggy, of course, knows this and adores Dillon right back

Scott, Summer, Flynn, Dillon, and Ziggy are all in what amounts to a Queer Platonic Relationship. They seek each other out automatically at this point. If so inclined, that relationship could turn romantic real quick

Scott gives doberman vibes, Summer gives white cat vibes, Flynn gives husky vibes, Dillon gives black cat vibes, Ziggy gives orange cat vibes

Ziggy was once a gymnast, which is the only reason he was able to fight as well as he did at first

The Rangers spar together even after Venjix is defeated

Dillon doesn't like Scott, but he does respect and love him

They're all fucking idiots at best, but Scott can and will chain himself to any of the Rangers if they try to run away.

All the Rangers have some form of abandonment issues. The least of which is Flynn, who has issues regarding his mother's death, the most of which is Ziggy, who was abandoned at the orphanage at age five

The Rangers are always in a rainbow of shipping, but none is more obvious than the RPM Rangers. You can ship anyone with anyone (except Gem/Gemma of course)

The hit on Ziggy’s head never went away, and he never expected it to. He was in the mob from age 10 to age 17, he knows better than to expect kindness from people who would kill him in a heartbeat

On that subject, Ziggy doesn't leave the garage unless he has another person (Dillon) with him

Dillon and Tenaya don't go back to their original names, but they do take their original surname of Sevenson (which is where Venjix got the Seven from)

All the Rangers have PTSD and nightmares. They sneak into each other's beds or have puppy piles on the floor. Usually, you'll see specific patterns with sleeping arrangements. For example, Ziggy hasn't slept in his own bed since the Venjix virus started taking over Dillon, but he rarely ended the night in his own bed even before that

Flynn is the fan-favorite Ranger, but it's a close tie with Dillon and Scott
