"I know we don't really hang out that much, Freed, but I made ya somethin',"
Gajeel would hand Freed a small box inside the box would be something the Iron Slayer made using his own magic. He knew it was something the Run Wizard [and his husband] would appreciate. There were small things for both of the men in it.
"Most people ain't aware that I can make more than weapons with my magic, I figured that ya would appreciate somethin' like this." [You can decide what he made since I can't figure out what would work for both Freed and Laxus lol]

"Oh?" Freed had noticed the other man walking towards him, though he certainly hadn't expected to be receiving a gift during. His curiosity was definitely awakened as he accepted the box handed to him.
It was true that the two hadn't spent all too much time together. However, the Raijinshuu's captain had noted the other man down as very reliable and all in all a welcome company. Their attitudes may not always match, but they had their similarities in past mistakes, learned from them and used their strengths to protect those they loved nowadays. They had both become better men already, and it was an on-going work in progress. There was always more to learn.
When laying eyes on the self-made cutlery, Freed couldn't help but marvel at them for a moment, inspect it more closely. "These are fine pieces of craftsmanship." The engravings were especially impressive; a love for detail was shining through that he hadn't exactly gotten to witness from Gajeel before. His statement wasn't specifically one of surprise either - actually, it was not very surprising at all that the iron dragon slayer was able to create various shapes and items, and ones that were so beautiful, too.
Fingers ran over the engraved pattern and briefly, he got lost in loving thought of his yet to return husband. Both of them had taken separate missions, both designed to take a fairly long time and now it was simply coincidence that he was the one to return first. Wherever Laxus was right now, he was to get a warm welcome back for certain. And with this gift, too.
Freed gave a small nod of appreciation as he averted his gaze from the cutlery, closing the small box as he looked at Gajeel. A tinge of his thoughts had transferred to his facial expression, lips curved into the slightest of smiles. "A pleasant surprise. I will store them away until Laxus' return. I'm certain that he is going to appreciate the gift as well."
I get emotional thinking about how much it must have meant to Xie Lian to have one of the most influential people in his life confirm that he accepts him even though he's in love with another man (the fact that he's a supreme ghost king is a lil weird but who cares!!)
I know & remember very little about RTD as a person but I do remember he left DW to care for his dying partner and that his partner has since died. And the way that this is so evident in his approach to 14 and 15, it’s phenomenal.
2005 Davies was interested in high drama, big stakes, the roughest heartbreak that could exist. And now he’s lived it, and it feels like his approach to the show has shifted as he has shifted!
14 getting to rest, Wilf alive off-screen, Donna’s memories returned - 15 leaving his trauma and his heartbreak and his pain with 14 in order to begin again fresh and new and ALIVE…it is all so meaningful to me!!!
"Just like we talked about in this booth, back in middle school."
"It was that booth."
"Are you sure it was that one?"
"Yep. That booth."
I love that Min just lies in this scene because he's upset about Ryan leaving.
The pictures are at slightly different angles, so I overlapped the window and recorded a transition of one image to another, but- it's almost exactly the same. There's no way what Min is saying is true.
Like, the first watch through I thought it was supposed to tell us something about Ryan. That he isn't focused, that he doesn't remember things as well, that he didn't care for detail.
But it's telling us about Min. He holds grudges! He's petty! He wants to be right and won't admit it when he's wrong!
