i believe s5 will see our characters have everything returned to them that was taken from them in (or before) s1.
hopper will have a wife and a daughter again. lucas will have the love of his life, max mayfield, come back to him when she’s freed from vecna. dustin will avenge eddie’s—and by extension all outcasts’—name. joyce will have a healthy family and a loving husband. nancy will be free of societal expectations. jonathan will be able to live his life without the obligation to constantly worry over his mom & brother. steve will find that he’s already got the family he wanted, and robin will have a beautiful girl to share her truest self with. el will have a real family, a real mother and father, which was stolen from her as a newborn.
and mike wheeler will get back will byers, the one who’s never fully come back to him since he was taken by the demogorgon—the best boy that’s ever happened to him, who was taken from him by forces of evil and repression on a fateful november night.
and will byers? he’s going to be returned to the arms of mike wheeler, his knight in shining armor, the boy he couldn’t lie to, the boy who has been destined to love him unconditionally, for the rest of his life, since the moment they met.

people so often interpret sazed as taako’s ex, which like, to each their own obviously, nothing wrong with that, but i think its so so much more interesting to interpret him as taako’s apprentice instead. and like all we have to go on is that he really looked up to taako who sort of taught him how to cook. “thought taako hung the moon and stars” or something like that iirc. which brings so much more depth to taako’s relationship with angus if sazed was to taako then what angus is to taako now, someone who idolized him and saw him as a mentor.
it puts some of the conversations taako’s had with angus into really interesting context. like the fact that the first person taako’s (ever?) told about what happened at glamour springs (which he didnt know at the time, but was sazed’s fault) is angus. does he tell angus because he doesn’t want him to be betrayed (like he assumes sazed was, since he ran away)? or because he doesn’t want angus learning from someone so clearly unfit to be a mentor (both since he was unfit to be sazed’s, because he was dismissive to him, and because he believes himself to be a murderer)? he teaches angus magic and cooking. when he implies that angus might become as or more skilled than him he jokes about striking him down. which is exactly what he did to sazed when he wanted equal share.
but taako redeems himself with angus. he mistreats angus in the beginning, bullying him and dismissing him and generally being a dick, but as angus becomes taako’s apprentice, he’s more open and a little nicer. still “open” and “nice” in his own way, but definitely more than he was before. learning from his mistake, letting angus in and being encouraging and honest in the way he wasn’t with sazed.
idk. i think it’s so interesting and so rarely explored

Adventures of Wally & The Gang (plus their Caretaker)
Keep A Level Head
Warnings: None. Humor. Just more silly antics. Inspired by the anime “ Aggretsuko”.
Word Count: 834
Brief Description: The Welcome Home cast is alive, living alongside humans. You have been contracted as their Caretaker. Our dear Caretaker has been running around all day, working hard. On top of your daily administrative work, you also have to babysit tend to the colorful ensemble of actors, plus all the other studio employees, who can’t seem to do things on their own.
[Not sure if this constitutes a WH!Muppet AU scenario?? Not sure how to tag it haha]
“Care! Hey, hey! Care--?! Hey! Caretaker! Heeeeeeeeeey!” Julie wails, following behind as you try to ignore her and focus on the task at hand.
No matter how many times you try to address the blonde, she pulls you away from what needs to be done, to what she wants to do. It’s become a bit of an irritating habit, although you’re convinced it’s her hobby, to distract you from your job so you can entertain her grabs for attention.
“Not now Julie, I have a lot of work to do, but I promise I’ll do whatever it is you’re wanting once I’ve got more time—”
“No, I need you now. The new dress I had ordered still hasn’t arrived and I—”
You drone out her increasing insistence, beginning to pick up the pace as you swerved through the crowd of studio employees and other puppets. Unfortunately, the moment the others sight you, the choir of:
“Hey Care—”
“--need you here—”
“Can you fix—”
“Get me some—”
You stop in your tracks, feeling Julie bump into you from behind. With your binder tucked close to your chest, your hands tighten around it. The overwhelming demands from the maintenance team, stagehands, cameramen, and puppets made you fume. It was obvious from your face how feelings of annoyance had now turned into full-blown anger. You tried steadying your breath, feeling the heat prickle at your cheeks, and reminding yourself to remain professional, you need this job, it pays the bills… it pays the bills…it pays the bills….
“Hold on!” You boom, causing the voices to settle. You stand your ground, steeling yourself as you take a breath. “I am extremely busy right now—” You strain, each word slow, with brows furrowed and jaw tight. “Sooo-- I’d appreciate it if you all stop pestering me for a moment, because if I hear one more per—”
“Hey, Care?” Barnaby interjects, poking his head out of the restroom door.
Your mouth shuts, head snapping around to look at him. “What?!”
“I clogged the toilet,” Barnaby responds monotonously, thumb pointing toward inside the restroom, as water slowly began trickling its way outside.
The grip around your binder tightens even more to the point you felt like you could have ripped it in half. Your eyes narrow into a glare, tight lips twitching up into a menacing grin.
“So uh… could you fix it?” Barnaby probes, moving away from the slow leak of water pooling around his feet.
“Please excuse me for a moment…” You seethe, quickly and silently moving your way toward one of the audio control rooms, knowing the padded walls would shield your outbursts. Upon arrival, you slammed the binder down onto the script stand, causing it to wobble and tilt over.
That was the last straw.
You bring your arms up, flailing them around as you release your rage. “What the actual [redacted]?! I just need to do one [redacted] thing! One thing! But nooooooo--! I can’t catch a [redacted] break around here! And why the [redacted] would Barnaby clog the toilet?! PUPPETS DON’T EVEN NEED TO USE THE [redacted] TOILET?!”
You heaved, palming your forehead for a second before sliding your hand over your eyes. You took a few deep breaths to soothe yourself until you heard an audible click and the sound designer over the two-way speaker.
“You, uh, okay in there?”
You drop your hand down to your mouth, eyes darting open to see not only the sound designer but a few of the puppets and two other employees who followed you to your location, staring at you from behind the glass.
You stared back.
Julie had arched a brow, crossing her arms over her chest in disapproval.
Wally’s half-lidded, unwavering, eyes peered at you. “Those are some naughty words there...” He commented, his voice crackling a bit through the speaker. Though, reading his expression you could tell he was a bit amused.
“Yes dear, you really should watch your language.” Poppy chimes, as everyone else in the sound room nods in agreement.
Standing there for a moment longer, you finally gave up. Picking up your binder and setting the script stand back up in place, you walk through the door into the sound room, staying silent as Barnaby stepped toward you with a plunger in hand.
“I found this if it’ll help with the toilet—”
You didn’t say anything as you walked past him, only extending a hand, and swiping the plunger from his grasp. You moved on through the exit.
[BONUS]
Barnaby and Wally both stood outside the restroom door, peering in and watching as you muttered curses under your breath and violently plunged the toilet to unclog whatever ungodly thing Barnaby stuffed in there.
Wally: “So, uh, Barnaby?”
Barnaby: “Yeah lil’ buddy?”
Wally: “What did you put in there?”
Barnaby: “Just a bunch of leftover doughnuts from the spread table.”
Wally: “…Why?”
Barnaby, shrugging: “Wanted to see what would happen…”
[For scientific inquiry]

i really want to do a full lore analysis of just add magic soonish because damn i just remembered how deep it goes like that show had backstory all the way to the 1800s
unfortunately i don't really have the time to watch a whole show and take notes but it is really cool how much worldbuilding they put into the show from the spices and the book to the actual full timeline that revealed itself through the time travel spells they used
as i've said before i also want to do the same for mako mermaids, because i feel like it was quite shadowed by h20 since that show holds so much nostalgia for people and they were basically aired for two different childhood eras i think, but it has SO much story and worldbuilding that i don't see talked about very often
there is a whole backstory of mermaid politics that is just brushed over which i really want to go back and analyse it fully because it is really interesting and deserves attention! mako mermaids added so much to the overall lore of this universe and i love it dearly i just have to find time to rewatch it
i talk about both of these shows at the same time because i feel like there are a lot of similarities in which their backstories are very detailed and they have a similar plot structure (which is probably intentional given the glaringly obvious similarities between just add magic and just add water) but yeah i just feel like they deserve a more thought out deep dive into everything they have because it is so much fun to learn about

Why did Solar have to die permanently while Eclipse gets to keep coming back over and over like freaking Megatron!?
anon you stirred an ancient ghost inside me with mention of megatron lmao /silly
but anyways - i think it became a running theme that Eclipse was gonna keep coming back like peepaw. But this time however there has been a big shift in his character, so the coming back from death thing has ultimately had a greater effect this time around than the last.
For starters, it's already been confirmed he is not really Eclipse. At least not the prior incarnations. He's a mimicry a different entity who carries only the fractured memories and directives of the ones who came before. The only thing that even really connects him to the Eclipse character beyond that is the fact his code was made from Solar's (who is also an Eclipse)
He is very much like Eclipse in personality for sure, unhinged and a complete asshole. But his unique circumstance, being brought so low that he truly is an inferior Eclipse, a false copy, and the fact he knows this has greatly altered his view on himself and his goals. He can say how he's superior to everyone all he wants but 1. no one cares anymore and 2. he knows it's a lie anyways.
But with Earth showing him genuine kindness and patience lately combined with the aforementiond, this has finally allowed him to actually open up a bit and maybe just maybe allow that sliver of a chance for redemption/to find a new purpose in life, even if that is away from the plex. I don't expect him to suddenly turn into a nice eclipse like Solar, in fact i would very much prefer for him to continue being a little asshole rat bastard /aff - but i do want him to be free of his past and find a new purpose, a new reason to live that isn't just antagonising others and hungering for power.
But i'm getting off track here-
We don't actually know if Solar will be dead permanently. It's been said already there is a way to bring him back but it would require sacrificing someone else, and not only that but their entire existence. My moneys on it being the creator ngl because as it stands he is pretty much unkillable. Using him as that sacrifice would be effective in removing him entirely but the only problem would be actually being able to go through with the plan because the brain's a tricky guy to pin down (plus i don't doubt Earth would be conflicted about it)
