I really be like 'ayo AI directly damages writers, voice actors and unions can you not use them, which in turn makes them better and more useful to the studios?' and people get MAD

People can say 'hey don't spend your money on Spiderpunk merch it directly contributes to corporations. That's not what he would've wanted'

But if someone says 'hey please don't use Spiderpunk AI - it directly contributes to large movie studios using AI against the WGA. That's not what Hobie would've wanted'

You're directly going against the asks of a union that is actively striking.

That's not what Hobie would want.

Every time you roleplay with an AI or use a voice AI - You're helping develop the technology that puts people out of jobs

You want your Hobie AI stories to be realistic cause it's easier for you and more fun? GOOD.

THAT'S EXACTLY HOW THE STUDIOS FEEL TOO. They want their Hobie AI stories to be as realistic as possible too - because then they don't have to pay their writers.

The same AI that writes Hobie fics for you is the same technology that writes scripts for studios.

The more you feed an AI Hobie information - the easier it is for the AI to produce - say, an entire scene from a Hobie movie script. Without the consent or input of the people who created him in the first place.

When Studios use AI, they can make the characters do and say anything without the writers or voice actors input.

Imagine you're an voice actor - they want you to say a line that's really offense and you refuse.

They say "Okay, that's fine. Just skip the line."

You say okay. You finish the rest of the lines and go home.

You go see the movie. And you hear all your normal lines - then you hear yourself saying the extremely offensive line.

What happened? The studio used a Voice AI of you to fill in the offensive line you didn't wanna say. Don't want your voice used that way? Too bad. They own the AI. They can make you say anything now.

Your agent can't help you and neither can your PR. You just have to take it.

Is that something Hobie would want for people?

The more realistic your Hobie roleplay becomes - the easier it is for a studio to take that same technology and write a script with.

Why would a studio PAY a voice actor when someone on Tiktok developed an entire Hobie Brown AI for them that can say anything? They wouldn't. They'd just use the AI for free instead. The same one you're using.

Honestly, the whole "[x] group can't be oppressed! Name one right they don't have!!!" because it's such a narrow-minded, State-enforced look at oppression and group struggle.

When you talk to a marginalized group, often they might bring up that there are laws that hinder their movement through life, but a ton of discussions won't surround the law - they might talk about how they are refused equal opportunities, or are medicalized, or treated like a problem to be solved. When you focus so heavily on the State, you are neglecting that enforcers of oppression or oppressive dynamics will not be the people with the highest power of the land.

Despite there (in theory) being equal rights, that by no means means that it is correct to surmise that no group of people aren't oppressed or marginalized. Just because there isn't a law in place that says, "discriminate against this group!" doesn't mean that they are granted the same opportunities or ways of life you might have.

I don't have my thoughts about the finale entirely in order, but I do want to say this:

At first, I was annoyed that Sand wasn't the one to put Boeing in his place. I wanted him to be more assertive and to brain Boeing with his guitar.

But the more I thought about it, the more I liked the way the show did it better. Because it's not just Sand letting Ray do what he needs to do to feel more secure.

It's Sand, who up 'til now has spent the entire run of the show handling his own feelings and his own mess by himself, willingly letting someone else in far enough to trust them to handle it for him.

And I love that for both of them.

I wonder why so many people are so bothered by show-percabeth especially if they're fans of the books. This couple is the IT couple. They are hyped. Their story, what they do and go through for each other is legendary lmao so what exactly is the real issue? Do you not want parallels to happen? Seeds planted, sOME smiling??? Mind you I’m the main one defending Katara as a fighter on multiple platforms besides tumblr and have also written a post about people failing to reconcile Katara as a feminine, powerful and KIND character on here.

By writing Katara “like Azula”, I mean writing her as someone who’s bloodthirsty, revels in violence/taking life and needing some man to step in to “guide/control” her and her power, like the way I see ATLA fans talk about how they wished Iroh mentored Azula like he mentored Voldemort or how Ozai reduced her to his own personal weapon in the actual canon.

Katara does not enjoy partaking in violence - this is canon, is not bloodthirsty - canon as well, is far less manipulative than Azula, and is the one in control of how far she will go when it comes to fighting and violence when she wishes. Yet somehow she continues to be interpreted the way I described by a certain crowd. The post I said this about was about a headcanon that wrote her exactly like this, so if it what I said doesn’t apply to you then???? Caine says to Pomni that he doesn’t know what’s out there in the void, implying that he doesn’t know how to get the contestants OUT, only knowing how to let them IN the circus. He shows this when he was able to bring Pomni back from the void. I also have a feeling there’s a bigger antagonist in the background hidden, which is not Caine, since the creators of TADC confirmed it. It’d been kinda cool and sad when Caine finds out reader went into the void by accident when exploring the circus, with reader being returned to the circus safe and sound by Caine

Like, again, I'm no theory person, but he does say about wanting to have the "exit" ready for people hence why he never showed it. But that could also be me missing an important detail and completely messing up. Because, like, that scene where he's wiggling his fingers and staring off into space didn't read like "I have to hide my surprise!" to me.

If anything, maybe he doesn't want the contestants to leave? Like, he kind of presents himself as a god of sorts, so maybe he's lonely? Sick of being stuck with NPCs? Or maybe, since he's an AI, he's been programmed to keep the humans in the digital world for as long as possible. And the exit was a testing thing for workers/whatever who needed to get out. Or maybe, just maybe, the workers couldn't actually get out, and abstracted because of it (maybe Kinger's the only remaining worker, stuck with the knowledge and memories of what happened to his coworkers--especially Queener!).

My guess for the "big bad" of the series is C&A, whatever that stands for (the corporation seen in the office segment).

As for your mention of the reader, I'm assuming you'd like me to make headcanons for a scenario in which the reader finds some portal or something to the void and nearly gets out but is sucked back into the world. I'll make that in a separate post sometime (though be warned, it won't be accurate to future canon at all).

Anyways, Pomni's face really said it all huh. She'd come so close to getting out, faced the trigger that got her stuck in the digital circus in the first place, and then next thing she knows she's stuck in the void again! I felt so bad for her. Like, she was so convinced she was gonna get out--nobody believed her either--and then she hears Caine telling the group his "exit" was an unfinished surprise! The poor woman.
