Regulus stood up, cheering for James as he collected his fourth place ribbon. Sirius stood beside him, collecting the eighth place ribbon. Euphemia and Fleamont Potter stood beside him, also cheering.

James was still dripping wet from the pool water, grinning ear to ear. Regulus knew he was probably beating himself up about fourth place, but the other kids there broke records.

After the ribbon collection, James also got an eighth and a second place ribbon.

He met Regulus near the entrance, embracing him in a hug. Regulus was grinning, James was grinning, and they were still smiling as they kissed. “Ugh get a room.” Sirius said, walking through the doors with Remus’s hand in his own.

Sirius’s hair was still wet, dripping on the floor. James turned back and grinned at him, kissing Regulus more.

“I forget how much I love the pool.”

one thing that a lot of westerners just can’t seem to wrap their heads around is that by no accounts can they ever be more “objective” about politics and history of other regions, and it’s not only because the whole concept that being an outsider gives you a better perspective is bullshit, but also because they genuinely don’t have that many reliable sources to base their opinion on. of course it seems to you like “there’s not much evidence of holodomor” because you don’t speak any language in which the accounts were originally collected. against the popular opinion, english really has not dominated the academia to the point where you can expect to be able to find well verified translations of scholarship around the globe. i can assure you that there are plenty of facts that are written in your regular elementary school history textbooks in eastern europe that you will not find upon any google search in english.
