Spring 2022 Anime Opinions

As always ranking the anime I watched this season based on my opinions don’t take it personally thx xoxo

Honestly as I was writing this I completely forgot I had watched this till doing the tier list so thats that. Its not like offensive or anything but its not a very fun movie, I cant really remember anything about it ASDFGH It had cool visuals I think? Like the little mermaid but boring sorry ;w;

Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi

I dont… I dont know about the one peeps asdfghj it seems wrong what I am watching, like its trying to appease to some sort of loli thing and it makes me very uncomfortable. I dont like that they just hate on man for (???) reason and that it seems more like a bait than anything. Some cute character dynamics but not enough to save it for me.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai

this show is SO boring ASDFGHJ I am so sorry if you like it but like,,,, I really wanted to like it but,,,,, its just sO slow nothing happens nothing goes on no character stands out the animation is average at best… It gives ‘go girl give us nothing’ energy. Its like Komi san but without its two likable characters so its just boring as I have nothing to look forward to.

Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season

speaking of komi san ASDFGHJ I tend to not speak about this show here because I dont want an influx of hardcore Stans coming to attack but komi san is just…. An average show imo :// I dont like when shows romanticize in a way social anxiety and introversion because its something I deal with and the way they uwu about it makes me :/// iffy. Also Yamai may be toeing the line of my most hated fictional character ever. Every time she comes on screen I audibly supreme a groan, I hate everything she says I hate how she sexualizes Komi I hate that her whole character trait is being the “psychotic lesbian” so straight white boys can make fun of on twitter, I hate it. To be fair I hate almost all the characters here, they are almost all cringey and just, not real people whatsoever. The only characters savable are Tadano, Najimi and Onemine, the rest are trash. I dont like this show I am sorry ;w;

Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu

This show goes from being extremely boring to extremely mid, no in between asdfgh I like when Angelica and Olivia are being girlfriends and…. Thats about it. I think the princes are all boring, Leon has its moments here and there and its just very random lmao. I think the concept in itself has more potential than the actual delivery but hey I mean I am still watching it so thats that.

Dance Dance Danseur

AA PLEASE DONT HATE ME BECAUSE I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANTED TO LIKE AND LOVE THIS SHOW AND,,,,, I dont hate it, its just not for me ;w; I like the message but I am not gonna lie familia, I find Ballet extremely boring :( And this is no shade to anyone who enjoys it but I’ve never been a dancer myself so its just very hard for me to connect with whats happening. I guess its like someone who doesn’t like or enjoys art watched Blue period, they will most likely be bored half the time. And I don’t mean it in a way that you cant connect with something you haven’t experienced because I like learning about new things and stuff but asdfgh idk man most of the episodes are just kind of boring to me :( and the characters aren’t strong enough to keep me interested but I do think the message is cool so points for it ^^

Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san

This show is cute, in a boring way but still cute. Like,,,, nothing happens ASDFGHJ But I think the dynamic is adorable so I can forgive it. I normally like ships and dynamics that have a bit more banter and this one is pretty tame and easy but I mean its an alright watch, there are some good moments here and there.

Love all play

This show is like a rollercoaster because one week I think its amazing, poetic, a master piece, and then the next its cliche and nothing happens SKSKSKKS So I am not sure where to rank it. I think it started off not as my favorite and then I got to know the team and I thought their dynamic was really fun and then it died down again so I mean yeah, very okay-ish sports anime, nothing much more to say lol.

Gunjou no Fanfare

I dont know if I like or hate this show ASDFGHJ I have a love-hate thing with this because I don’t like horses so like whenever it dwells into horse territory (which is like, the main theme of the show) it kinda loses me but then some of the characters (shoutout to Hayato, Sakuraba and Aki truly the only ones ever) are interesting but then they go back to the uninteresting parts and idk ASDFG I do think the whole idol struggle with Yuu was nice and innovative but then by ep 7 it was lowkey resolved so like ?? Idk, watch it for Hayato I guess clink clink

Summertime Render

This show also goes up and down for me too lmaoo, because I went into it and I loved it, proceeded to read the manga in like a week and because of it my enjoyment greatly decreased ASDFGHJK I dont know how to delve into this without spoilers but the pacing of the show is,,,, weird. Weird in the sense that it leaves you kind of questioning things and tbh theres barely any character development to anyone. The animation is pretty tho and I really enjoy the eeriness to it but I think I went in with higher expectations than I should have rip

Kakkou no Iinazuke

This is a trainwreck, but I like train wrecks so I can cant somehow stop watching and I am flabbergasted each week more by it. As the good Latina I am, I’ve watched my fair share of telenovelas and this is the most telenovela esque trope ever but in anime format it makes it somehow 10 times more ridiculous. Tell me that the concept of being switched at birth only to be reunited years later by fate and THEN arranged a MARRIAGE (!!!!) by your parents with your switched person because they wanted to unite the families or something isn’t the most INSANE thing ever ASDFGHJ HOW DO YOU GET FROM POINT A TO B HELLO??? But hey I like mess so I mean I am all for it clink clink. The only thing I hate is the sister thing, I hope she is not a serious love interested because like I get she ain’t his biological sister but,,,,,,, my dudes she grew up as her SIBLING how do you go from that to crush like byE.

Tomodachi Game

You know, I know that y’all like shitting on tomodachi game but its one of my favorite mangas so therefore I love it ASDFGHJ. The thing with tomodachi game (and I commented it in a previous note) is that an anime adaption is very difficult to do well because of the way its a snowball effect sort of story (idk how to explain it without getting into spoilers). JUST READ THE MANGA OKAY AND IF YOU WATCH IT DO IT FOR KEI THE MANGA IS SO GOOD. Be careful with the triggers tho, read them before watching or reading, it delves into some very dark topics.

Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de

Koiseka is the ugliest romcom ever but I forgive it because its also the dumbest romcom ever SKKSKS I love enemies to lovers and secret dating so all the tropes are taken into account and I appreciate the flavor. I hate the animation but they are all so cute and its very dumb and the plot isn’t anything to really write home about but its cute so give it a go if you want a chill romance where you don’t have to think much other than the red power ranger likes villain.

Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita. Heart

Rikekoi is in a weird spot for me because there have been things I liked and disliked from this season but just because I love the concept of STEM people being completely awful at flirting it goes up skskks. People are liking this season more than the last but idk, I think I got to differ because I rEALLY liked season 1 ;w; not saying s2 is bad its just… The pacing seems a bit off and the plot seems to go around in circles at some points where it shouldn’t imo. Not enough Ibarada and Inukai either so //sad noises

Paripi Koumei

This was supposed to be my gag show of the season but I gotta admit when I am wrong and this one really surprised me ngl. It’s like,,,,, crack,,,, but taken seriously,,,, but it somewhat works?? I think I would love it more if I was more into the music industry but it still slaps and the characters are very cute, I love Kabe, Eiko and Nanami and the latter two should kiss. Defo give it a watch ^^

Ao Ashi

I am a weak bitch for sports anime and this wasn’t the exception and Ao Ashi did nOT disappoint everyone cheer. I don’t now if its because I actually understand football or what but I love this show, I am reading the manga and I am already like on chapter 140 lmaoo. The animation is great, the characters too, I enjoy the pacing and plot, although it seems a bit draggy at first its very good give it a go. Do it for Kuroda, Koi, Togashi and Otomo truly the only men ever.

Tiger & Bunny 2

The following ones are all very ties to number one spot because they make me happy and are my comfort shows so I will ramble. Tiger and bunny is a show I discovered like, a month ago, and it consumed me completely asdfgh. I love superhero societies done well (not like ehemm other shows) and I think tiger and bunny nails it. The realism behind the struggles of actually building a hero corporation are shown and the characters on this show are SO good. There is not a single character from the main cast that is unlikeable imo and the way it follows each of their stories and struggles makes for interesting dynamics and storytellings. The ships are also top tier, we got no other choice but to Stan everyone go watch this and give Kotetsu some love he needs it.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Ultra Romantic

I don’t think I have much to say regarding love is war other than it slaps, it always had slapped and it will, as a matter of fact, continue to slap. The comedy on this show is AMAZINg and the dynamics are hilarious. The arc that is coming up is very good and yeah,,, I honestly don’t know why not many people talk about Love is War on Tumblr but its really good lol go consume good romance media.

Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto

shoutout to like, the other 3 people who watch, enjoy and digest this show with me because I am ngl, its becoming a comfort show ASDFGHJK ITS SO GOOD OKAY I LIKE IDOL SHOWS YES. Is it technically better produced than love is war or had a more well built story than tiger and bunny? No, probably no, not really. Do I enjoy it and it makes me happy every single week I look forward to it? You bet it does! Herotaru is just a very idol show but I love the character dynamics and I love Hiyori my queen my everything and the silly little idol boys with their silly little enemies to lovers routine they are the entire circus and-….. I think its neat okay? Okay, now everyone reading this needs to go watch Herotaru, do it for Hiyori best girl.

Spy x Family

omg can you say epIC proportions !!! I think everyone and their mothers has heard of spy x family at this point so I won’t ramble about how good it is but !!! So good !!! The storytelling is great and they’ve adapted the manga fantastically imo. I love Anya and the kids (Damian my soN) as well as the adult story line with Yor and Loid so yeah !!! Probs gonna be best anime of the year we got no choice but to ascend !

Here's the thing.

I admit I've been blindsided a bit by fan culture encounters on Tumblr and Discord -- personal encounters fan-to-fan in addition to specifically fannish discussions -- out of sheer ignorance. It's because I actually came at all o' this in kind of the opposite order to most people. That is to say, my proverbial 10,000 hours of badfic were all gotten out in notebooks, later Bank Street Writer files (not joking), then private Word docs. They are ancient floppy-era artifacts. The world's blessedly been spared like 95% percent of my juvenilia because there just wasn't an Internet, or there was only barely an Internet, to post it on. (I'm sure if there *had* been, I *would've* posted, and been terribly embarrassed for the rest of my life because yeah that's how I roll. :-P ) By the time the Internet was in full swing, what little 'fannish' stuff I was still doing was within the RPG world, on listservs (not joking), mIRC (still not joking), and somewhere in there I got hardcore into professional freelance writing for industry and wound up with almost no time for fanfic or even gaming. Then when that was done, I moved into pro writing and arting for my original IPs. Then in the middle of all *that*, the whole world took a fucking header into the arms of apocalypse, and I set my career aside to spend the next several years as a full-time nonviolence activist, (unsuccessfully) struggling to get people to rise up and demand nazis be removed from positions of power. It was only after I took a sabbatical from that for my own health -- as in, I could take a sabbatical, or I could end up dead, in prison, or in a straitjacket, those were the options -- and I was finally out of the whirlwind and honestly in a doldrums of scant energy or purpose, that I rediscovered fanfic and fanart. I did do LJ back in the day, but even there I didn't do much fan stuff. And every other social media platform's fannish communities, I more or less missed out on. I heard about Tumblr keyboard warriors and Twitter flame wars but never witnessed them, first because I wasn't there, and later on because I was only there to post quick update links for my original content. I still barely post on IG. Never been on TikTok, or Snapchat -- or Discord till very recently. So please understand, I missed ALL this shit! Yeah, I knew the Internet was a goulash, a scrapple loaf with gritty layers of drama for drama's sake, harassment, and even outright crime and hate-group recruitment. But I didn't understand what had happened to fandom and fannish forums -- or really *any* of the online spaces dominated by younger adults or teens -- during all the years I'd been gone. I had no understanding that it had moved from a place where a great number of the participants were neurodivergents of one kind or another -- just as I was, surprise surprise -- to a place where a neurodivergent (or even a neurotypical, apparently!) can so easily trip right into a minefield of unforeseen OUCH...from callouts and shunning straight on up to full-bore harassment, threats and stalking. O_o Even having seen some of the uglier SJ wars of the late oughts on Twitter and LJ, I would never have anticipated anything like (to take one example) these locust swarms of antis that seem to be able to chop out whole sectors of a fandom in a matter of weeks. I would never have anticipated being questioned about my fitness for a Discord based on someone I've been following on Tumblr because I think their art is pretty. I'm just constantly dropping my jaw like "hooooly shit, what bush did all this Lord of the Flies vibe suddenly jump out of??" Or else I'm taken back to that scene in Mad Max: Thunderdome, the one where the lost children mock up a frame resembling a TV screen to retell their half-historical folklore through.

It's a bit funny in the movie, if also rather sad. It's NOT at all funny here. It's not funny to have a community where the majority of folks haven't *really* studied anti-oppression discourse, or bell hooks/Foucalt pomo/deconstructionism, or the differences between Second & Third Wave feminisms and womanisms, or survivor psychology or any of that -- but they do have *just* enough of the lingo and the bullet points third-hand to garble it all up into this wild misreferenced munge, in service of...I dunno what to call it, even. Some weird sub-sub-culture war? Some neopuritanism? A sign that horseshoe theory might not have been QUITE as horseshit as I always perceived it to be?

Except it's all about people that...don't even exist.

-- Whilst people who absolutely *do* exist are energetically destroying the earth under our feet with impunity, which is an irony I could have died happy to never witness. And neither most apathetics NOR most activists are really even trying to stop them, and btw I fully don't get that, either. I wish I were referring here just to the behavior of actual minors, who'd at least be coming by it honestly, but sadly, I'm not. I'm also talking undiluted middle-school bullshit from people long since out of middle school. o_O

It's baffling AF. Each day I live through takes me further away from my own middle-school experience, and imho, that is one of *the* most wonderful things about unidirectional time. ;-) I...thought more people agreed?

Anyway. On the more personal level, here's the TL;DR: All I can do is offer apologies in advance when I don't know the terms or the etiquette, or when it turns out I was the only one who didn't know where the landmine was. I'd never claim the ancient days of fen were paradise (especially depending on who you were and whether you were the "right type" for a fandom :-( ), because they weren't. But they weren't quite this........COMPLICATED, either? I mean wow. *Just* being neurodivergent or just being in the older set would've made this all this confusing enough. Please remember that I'm both, and that I had this decades-long cryo-sleep right in the middle of things too. Be kind. I'll return the courtesy.

Part 1 of the MHA NG bios! DO NOT REPOST/EDIT/COPY/TRACE MY ART OR OC’S!!! All of these guys (besides the one of the top left) are in class 1A, these are my NG’s to some of the characters in the show so bare in mind in this NGAU they’re all grown up and are pursuing jobs as hero’s or other. How did Aizawa and Mic have a child?? WITH A SPECIAL QUIRK! These characters live in a world FULL of people with powers, pretty sure there’d be one quirk that would allow two men or two women to have a biological child - also NO neither Aizawa and Mic carried her for the pregnancy. They had miss Joke carry their child, but she is in no way related to her. Kanpekina Aizawa (Meaning: Princess, daughter you Mic X Aizawa) Quirk - erasure and voice Kanpekina is a scruffy little ball of moodiness and bluntness, she has inherited Aizawa’s resting bitch face and tendency to be straight to the point on most subjects. She’s not really good at making friends so she spends most of her time alone, unlike Mic she isn’t as social as he is so she tends to shy away at socialising or hiding behind him. She’s a hardcore lover and video games and music, and despite her quite nature she can be very passionate and talkative when she’s discussing the things she enjoys (she detests her name, Mic chose it cuz he won a bet with Aizawa, if it was a girl he’d get to name her) Furōra Woods (means Flora in English, daughter to Kumai Woods X MT Lady) Quirk - Abore Furōra is a calm, propper and polite young lady, and is also one of the class reps. She’s a bit of a worrier and is the typical mum friend amongst her classmates. She gets along with most of her classmates but does tend to become more irritated if things aren’t going to how she planned. Her secret passion is ready sappy romance novels and slightly more adult themes novels her mother recommends, she probably has a whole stash of sappy romance novels hidden under her bed. Senshi Kirishima (Means warrior in English, son to Mina x Kirishima) Quirk: Acid + hardening (he can create acid and harden it to make shields or weapons, however if he tries to make a sword from his acid, it’ll just take the shape of a sword, it won’t look like a real one) Senshi is just as energetic and spunky as his parents but no where near as competitive, he takes more after his mother in the sense he focuses more on having a good time, he’s kind of a goof most days which makes it easy for others to talk to him. He likes to experiment with his hair and try different styles, it’s naturally scruffy, so he wears a bandana round his forehead to keep it out of his face. Kita Kaminari (name may change since I couldn’t think of one I liked for him, son to Jirou X Kaminari) Quirk: Earphone Jack + Electrification (he can blast his heart beat at a loud volume like Jirou, and can also use his earphones hanging from his ear lobes to take electricity from appliances, he can then shoot that electricity through his fingers) Kita is the cool kid of the class, he’s got a degree in sarcasm and smugness streak a mile long. He’s overall pretty chill but hard working towards things he enjoys, it’s very hard to shake his confidence, so he sometimes accidentally ends up sounding full of himself. Due to his parents he’s for a wee bit of a potty mouth, which can tend to get him into trouble. He loves playing guitar and drums! Due to his laid back attitude most people in his class come to him to vent off their worries, he’s a good listener and actually offers pretty solid advice. Runa Tokoyami (Means Luna in English, daughter to Tokoyami x Asui) Quirk: dark shadow (similar to her father but instead of having dark shadow leave her body, it’s more like a voice in her head that offers her guidance in a fight. Instead she takes on features of a bird when using her powers, such as having feathers spawn in her hair and have her arms turn into wings) Runa is smart and intelligent, she finds comfort in the world of books and most enjoys reading more dark stories with more adult themes. She’s been raised well by both of her parents, she is very loyal to close friends and family (to the point she sometimes tends to put others needs before her own), she physically cannot lie. It’s an impossibility for her. She’s a prefect mix of sociable and preferring time alone, she’s good at holding conversations with close friends but sometimes struggles to speak with new people. Her hobbies include star gazing, gothic fashion and, art and poetry Taishiro Toyomitsu Junior (Son to FatGum X Kumo (my OC)) Quirk: Spider + Fat absorption (Like his mother he has the abilities of a spider (just think of spider man, his powers are like his), but like FatGum he can also absorb a certain amount of attacks thrown at him and then use that energy to make his own attacks stronger) Taishiro junior, or called TJ by most, is a lot less driven then both his parents and isn’t very enthusiastic about living up to the expectations out upon him at birth by being the son to a well loved hero. His strength lies in tests and research, he’d much rather prefer to learn from a book then physical experience. He’s pretty socially awkward since he isn’t good at telling who genuinely wants to be his friend, and who just wants to be friends with him due to him being the son to a famous hero. He doesn’t strive to be number one like many of his other classmates, and is way more happy settling for a lower rank in the spotlight - as long as he makes his parents happy and that he is happy Rekkei Toyomitsu (adopted son to FatGum x Kumo, biological dad is Rappa) Quirk: Strong arm Rekkei is a troubled youth, he is reckless at times and does enjoy a good fight, but unlike Rappa he doesn’t just blindly go into a fight without a plan, he has a moral compass which he more or less knows how to follow. He and TJ has a rivalry before Rekkei came to live with Fatgum, thought it was mostly Rekkie doing the threatening since TJ didn’t want a rivalry in the first place. Rekkie eventually comes to live with FatGum and Kumo and is put into UA by his new parents. Rekkie currently attends therapy sessions to help him find new ways to cope with his anger and stress (when he lived with Rappa he just went somewhere to punch a wall till he felt better, he’s finding more affective ways to release stress) Taimatsu Todoroki (name means torch/light in English, son to Todoroki X Yaoyorozu) Quirk: Hell flame Taimatsu puts up the act of being very calm and collected, always acting as if he has everything under control and that in the face of a big exam, there is nothing to worry about. However deep down he is incredibly self conscious over his quirk, this is something he often struggles to talk about so he tends to let his emotions out in the privacy of his room. He hates being compared to his granddad Endevour for..reasons. Many people tend to make comparisons between himself and Endevour due to him inheriting his quirk, however Taimatsu doesn’t like his quirk that much for this reason, so he tends to let others take the spotlight. He relaxes by painting in his free time Yari TetsuTetsue (Name means spear in English, son to TetsueTetsue X Kendo) Quirk: Steel and Big Fist Yari is a bit of a smartass and is quite sarcastic, like his mother he’s pretty straight forward when saying his opinion and is very smug when confronted with people he doesn’t like or people who are too full of themselves. He’s the one friend that will actually speak up if he thinks they’re all going to do something that will get them in trouble. Despite this he is incredibly passionate about fighting like his father, and takes every opportunity he can to perfect his abilities.

Growing up, parenting and gaming - Longread on life, computer games and finding yourself

This longread is dedicated to and written for all those current and former kids, who had or have troubles growing up, taking decisions, finding themselves in the world they live in, who play games independently of age and – perhaps – have not lost their love for a good game, good times and good buddies.

Perhaps it will help someone in their life. If that happens – I shall think of this writing as useful and my time writing it as not completely wasted.

The ideas have been on my mind for over 2 years now (they started getting very clear when I started doing therapy) and I have to put them on paper now.

Here it goes.

I grew up in the 90s in Eastern Europe. After the USSR collapsed millions of people found themselves without work, perspectives and means of existence. We were lucky that my dad had a good job that was paid in hard currency, however he was barely home – and by that I mean like seeing him 2 or 3 times a month.

We had good living conditions compared to others and my mom did the best she could too take care of my younger bro and me.

The first time we were exposed to computer games was when I was like 7 and my bro was 5 – in the office where the boyfriend of our aunt has been working. We played Dangerous Dave, Scorched Earth, Socoban, Digger, Civilization, The Incredible Machine and some others I do not recall the names. And of course, we liked it and it did not take long for our dad to install them on his PC at home. 2 years later my best buddy got Doom 2 installed on his PC and that was the absolute blast. We spent weeks trying to figure out how to get through level 2 and it was a big holiday when our buddy finally did.

My dad tried to restrict TV and computer time per week, so we always opted for the PC. Over time I learned to turn it on by myself and play when there was no one at home. My dad did not know.

A couple of our friends had 8bit consoles - soviet bootlegs of Super Nintendoes, with TMNT and Chip n Dale, but that was probably it. After all, we were living in a small village with not that many possibilities to make money.

When I was 10 we moved to a bigger city into a 1 room apartment. All 4 of us. This was 1996. 2 other very important things:

We started going to a far bigger school than before, where the mood was totally different from what we were used to. We were bullied and beaten, could not get along with other pupils and teachers and no one actually cared.

Father was home every day.

I mean, father was present home every day. It is not like he spent time with us doing sports or whatever. He just had any idea what to do with us as this was his first long time exposure to kids in the 11 years we were a family.

He was more of an authoritarian guy – we were not supposed to waste time in gaming clubs, listen to stupid music (Prodigy, Beastie Boys), we should have studied well, read books, have been doing sports and in general act like good kids.

We were doing some martial arts sports cause mom brought us there. We were taking music classes cause “everyone has to”. We were supposed to help out at home. We were not supposed to hang out with “bad” kid or stay outside till late hours. We were not supposed to smoke, swear and simulate illness to miss classes. We were not supposed to get into trouble.

It is not like we were putting a lot of thought into it. We just moved to the city from rural area and frankly speaking were absolutely not happy about. I guess we just went with the flow.

This was also the time when the first “gaming spot” in town opened – they had 2 Sega Mega Drives II and 1 Sony PlayStation. MK3, MK3 Ultimate, Contra Hard Cops, Golden Axe, some samurai fighting games for the Sega. SPS – Red Alert, Twisted Metal, Duke Nukem, Doom and of course – an incredible breakthrough for its time – Quake 2. And that was a revelation. I recall mom giving us money from time to time. To go play. Sega cost like 1 buck and hour, SPS – 1,5 bucks – far more expensive, so we played mainly on Sega.

At the same time we did have some games at home – Doom, Power Formula 1, Lines, the same Civilization, Lion King, Alladin, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Gods and Dune 2000. Dad did not want to allow us play games. Like, at all. Don’t ask me why he never deleted the games. The PC was mainly used for him to work. So when he left home, he took the power cable of the monitor and closed it in his spare suitcase. What we did was to unplug the cable from the printer and use for the monitor. Later on he hid both cables – from the monitor and the PC in the suitcase. I found a way to open the suitcase with a very fine flat screwdriver. Mom hid the fact from our dad for a while until he noticed the suitcase was “broken”. I believe they did not speak with each other for a week. But I am still proud of the fact of cracking that suitcase! Fuck yeah!

Things started getting worse when I transferred to a lyceum - 1998. I was 12. This was like a gymnasium for hardcore science-kids, where they went deep into math and natural sciences. I was hysterical the first 2 years as I was barely making the program. Even my dad had troubles solving the math they gave us. Music classes turned to shits. I had no time nor mood for sport. But I had to keep doing it all. Just because. There were a couple of bullies in class, whose parents bribed the management of the school so that their kids would have fancy graduation papers at the end and frankly speaking no one could get a grip on them. That had me very depressed.

Around 13 I started stealing money from my parents and missing classes to go to computer clubs – their number was getting bigger every week, consoles started to disappear. Half Life, CS 1.6, Age of Empires 2, Q3, D2 1.07, Black and White, SimCity 2000, NOX, StarCraft Brood War and many other games had our full attention. The biggest part of it was the fact you could play with or against your friends! That was so fucking awesome! At the same time I started discovering sci-fi and rock music, but that is a different story.

We stole a lot of money from our parents in those times and missed a lot of classes and of course after 3 or 4 months it all got revealed. Boy oh boy our dad smoked us. That was very very tough for a kid when all the things he actually liked were taken from him. Dark times when we were seriously asking ourselves what the hell our parents wanted from us as aside from the stuff they told us to do they never really told us what was it for. Everything else was useless, stupid or waste of time.

Somehow my marks at school got better closer to graduation and I graduated almost with a medal, went to university. I remember they had this PC club with like 200 PCs and from time to time we skipped one or the other lecture to play Starcraft or CS, but very quickly boozing with buddies became the major leisure activity and pushed gaming to the back. I did pretty well at the university, made my master with excellence and that was it – 6 years flew by in a blink of an eye.

I got my own PC during the first year at the uni, played a bit of Warcraft 3, HOMM 3, Quake 3, Lineage II but it was not like I was deep into that. I remember after defending my master I spent like 3 days playing Crysis without anyone saying a word. I mean, I was through with the university. I was free!

Soon after that I went on to work abroad as a project engineer in the chemical industry.

At the moment I am doing sales engineer for a good salary in Berlin, I am married and except for the Corona and all the restrictions it brought life seems ok.

During the last 10 years of my “adult” life I have been in many different situations. I have been very sick a couple of times, running on the edge of life and death. I have been in some useless relations that only drained energy and nerves from me. I also have been diagnosed with depression and burnout at some point, did therapy and consider myself fully recovered from both. I’ll be summarizing it all below.

When I look at my life it did occur to me that gaming was far more important than just the sheer desire to shoot buddies and skip school.

Growing up under the conditions where everything is predetermined one does not really get the chance to expose your own wish. After all, my parents both come from very unhappy families and did not have the exactly best examples of parenting.

It occurred to me that they never really cared about anything we achieved – whether in school, music or sports. I recall a couple of times when I did really good, like winning the City-contest in English language or getting my first “good” in algebra in 7th grade as that shit was extremely tough. I do not recall any reaction. In fact, mom and dad put their close attention to us only when things started getting really bad, like when we were skipping classes or got arrested for setting up fireworks in a crowded place. We never really got any positive feedback for anything we did because our parents just had no idea how to do that. I do not blame them – they were trying their best from their own experience.

And gaming was the absolute opposite to all of that.

Going to computer clubs we knew exactly that we were surrounded by like-minded lads. We made some good friends along the way – lads, who were always ready to jam on de_dust or bring their D2 chars to share some loot. One of the owners of the club had a daughter who was really good in Q3 – I remember everyone has been looking at her like she was some sort of demigod. The games gave us the space and playground we needed so much – clear even rules for everyone. If you frag – you win. If you don’t – you lose. If you suck – the older guys would always help with a couple of tips. Games also gave us control. I really liked the games where you went on an adventure, like NOX or Will Rock or serious Sam. Gaming also gave us the space to take our own decisions and suffer the full consequences if these were wrong – getting overrun by zerglings or getting fragged with rocket launcher with QUAD DAMAGE.

Gaming clubs were our safe space. At some point our dad did raid the computer clubs and did bust us a couple of times. Sure we got beaten on those occasions.

I recall my bro being very proud on getting 1st in the national 2v2 ladder in SC:BW later in the uni. He also used to game the whole night long at my parents place. This was over 10 years ago and they still do not know. He is still very good in SC though he does not play anymore.

I do play sometimes – currently grinding D2 and refreshing my knowledge in chess. I do not have more time for any other more or less serious game.

I am slowly approaching the point where I should write a conclusion – it is going to be quite simple. Gaming was the first opportunity to take my life into my own hands. It took me 32 years of my own life to find the power in me to take responsibility for myself and not to rely on someone else. My decision – my choice – my consequences. It took a lot of trouble and turmoil for me to get to this point and finally embracing the power within feels great. It was also the first surrounding of dudes just like me, which was a very good feeling back then.

During the last 6 months I switched to a job that pays almost the double of my previous one, my wife moved in with me from abroad, we have a nice apartment and are looking forward to vacations in the Alps. I still have to find a way to approach my parents though I am not sure the old hive is worth disturbing. I guess time will tell.

Whenever I am down or things do no go according to play – I do turn to gaming occasionally, just to get back into the world where I am in full control. It gives me power and I guess hope that everything will work out. If not now – then over time. You just have to keep practicing. And ask for help when it is needed.

This is because I cannot afford other means to watch anime and the last time I watched anime on kiss anime my computer got a virus. also, a lot of the anime that I get recommended is mainstream. “Oh come on Hermione! Ginny help me out here please?” You begged your friend as the curly head denied her invitation to the yearly Halloween Party in the Room of requirements. “Y/N the final exams are in only a couple of weeks, I´d rather spent my time studying.” You sighed at her comment and rolled your eyes. Ginny smiled at your gesture and leaned against Hermione, blinking with her eyes. Neither of you would ever give up unless she agreed to come with you. “Fine. But I won´t stay too late and I won´t drink.” You wanted to protest, well knowing that there was no other goal for you than to get drunk and have fun till the morning, but Ginny slammed her elbow in your side. You suppressed a groan. “Do whatever you want, Hermione. As long as you come with us.” She answered sweetly. Your conversation then turned into a hot debate about your planned costumes, but was then interrupted by loud yelling. You turned around to see the crowd of people in the inner yard, circling two people in particular. Quickly the three of you jumped off the bench and ran towards the crowd. The bad feeling that one of your friends would be involved was just too true. Ron´s red hair was hard to overlook and quickly you caught sight of Harry as well. Across from your two friends stood Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle. An annoyed sigh escaped your lips. The Weasley twins who thought of this situation of just too funny even encouraged them to pull out their wands. Every other time you would have immediately stood to your friends, helping them against Malfoy, but at this autumnally time of the year, you didn´t risk anything, because if the teachers in any way would ever find out about the party, it would be over.

Which was why you shot angry glares at Fred and George, who then kept quiet.

From the girls you were the toughest, you always laughed with the boys about some jokes and in Defense against the Dark Arts you were the best fighter. Just like Harry you often battled Malfoy and exceptionless replied with the best comebacks at his sneaky remarks. Just like Hermione, you were a muggle-born and every time Draco even dared to open his mouth to speak badly about any family just because they weren´t pure blooded, you made him regret it. You often paid with detention for defending your family, but it was worth it. Many students looked up to you, which was why some recommend you as a Prefect, but you always denied the request, you could never see yourself in the role of a Prefect. And the fact that a certain blonde guy represented Slytherin, made you avoid this role even more. You encountered with Malfoy often enough on the Quidditch field, together with Ron you were a keeper and for some reason, you and Malfoy often had heated arguments on the field because his team would accuse you of “cheating”, which was obviously not true and they were simple angry because you held each Quaffle they fired at you.

“Boys! Stop!” You yelled at them angrily, everybody shut up and stared at you either afraid or surprised. But you had just caught sight of McGonagal walking down to check the crowd. “Pull yourself together!” You cautioned them and when they followed your eyes to McGonagal, who just stepped out on the yard, the crowd quickly disappeared. Harry, Ron, Draco, Grabbe, Goyle and you were left, and while McGonagal walked past you, you all held your breath. When she got out of reach, you all sighed. “Congratulations Potter, if your little friend wouldn´t have helped you, you would have ruined the party.” “Shut it, Malfoy!” You hissed. You pulled your friends by their arms and dragged them with you. “Wow Y/N you don´t even have to dress up for Halloween, do you?” Malfoy commented and Ron and Harry already wanted to spin back to punch the blonde, but you kept the grip around their arms steady. You were boiling as much as them, but unlike them, you could keep your temper under control.

“Omg they arrived!” You screamed giggling and Hermione and Ginny followed your screams to your room, which you shared with Hermione. In front of you laid three ginormous boxes with the “Amazon” sign on it. Hermione wasn´t too sure, she remained on her bed nervously watching you and Ginny rip open the boxes. “Calm done, I´ve ordered something off Amazon a thousand times before and by the way Caty´s dad works there.” You explained to your friend. “He is head of the wizard section.” Ginny added and finally Hermione loosened up a bit and slowly opened her box as well. Ginny had ordered a “Sally” Outfit from Nightmare before Christmas, which perfectly matched her already red hair. You talked Hermione into “Velma” from Scooby Doo, and for yourself you had purchased a pair of black skinny jeans and a black top with white bones on them. Over the top you wore you dark red Gryffindor leather jacket and you had ordered a silver wig and a red flower crown. With make up you painted the skull structures on your face. Now the three of you stood in front of the mirror checking your results happily. It bothered all of you that you still had to wait a few more days for the party, but after spinning one last time in the mirror, you were sure that the waiting would be worth it. Many students had rather lame costumes, given the fact that especially pure blooded Slytherins didn´t have the option of Amazon, many people took old clothes from their grandparents and did some Zombie make up, but this year you stepped your game up.

What more could a girl want

The unexpected turn of a last-minute test on Friday, made your time suddenly run. You all spent the last days of school hardcore studying and almost forgot the party by the end of the week, but when the last lesson ended on Friday, you all stormed out the class rooms with pure excitement. Also, the fact that you had to help Ron and Harry pick up some very last-minute costumes for Halloween, stressed you even more. You later decided to let them wear suits and sunglasses and go as Men in Black and they were thrilled again. Exhausted you stumbled back into your own room, only to find a mess of clothes and make up on the floor. Your friends ran across the room adjusting and perfecting their costumes. “Y/N! Where have you been?! You´re late!” Ginny exclaimed. Her blue make-up let her red hair seem even more red and Hermione’s short bob framed her face. You sighed. “Yes I know, but I needed to help Harry and Ron pick their costumes.” You explained and Hermione stopped in the middle of the room to gasp. “Dear lord, can´t those boys just for once get their life together?” She cursed. You and Ginny giggled and Hermione rolled her eyes at you. “Come on Y/N! We´re gonna be totally late if you don´t hurry! And you know I hate being late!” She added and the last part made you and Ginny jump quickly.

You still arrived late, but besides the overly dramatic speech of the people who organized the party, among them Fred and George, you didn´t miss much. Everybody was already there, so when the door to the room of requirements opened one last time, every one watched who was arriving. All eyes were on you, Ginny and Hermione. And to be honest, you looked freaking good.

A few boys in the back hollered at your entrance and even Hermione smirked confidently. Pansy, who was just passing the three of you, an annoyed expression on her face, because even the boys from her house gawked at you, had a cup in her hand and in the next second you had stolen said cup and raised in the air. “Let the party begin!” You yelled and a lot applause and screams were you answer. Ginny grabbed two further cups, gave on to Hermione and the three of you touched glasses. “To the holidays!” Ginny exclaimed. “To the spooky season!” Hermione added. “To us!” You laughed and you downed the cup in one. Immediately after it you heard a too familiar whistle. Fred and George appeared next to you, wrapping each an arm around you. “Oi Y/N! Don´t drink too much! Your date won´t be too happy” They warned you, but you only shook your head. “What do you mean my date?” Fred and George exchanged knowing smirks and then turned you and pointed towards a blonde guy. You almost rolled your eyes at the way Pansy threw herself at him, when you realized what Draco was wearing. A skeleton outfit including the make-up. Your jaw dropped open and the twins started giggling next to you. But you didn´t think of it as funny and anger started boiling inside of you. Huffing, you pressed the twins your cup in their hand and then pushed basically everybody who got in your way aside and encountered Malfoy with raging anger. “Malfoy!” You hissed. He turned to and… smiled?

“Nice costume, Y/n!” He commented and sounded almost polite. Pansy next to him gasped, he probably hadn´t commented her costume- a cheap looking leather outfit with smudged eyeliner- at all. You snorted and pulled him aside towards the table with the drinks and food on it and he seemed barely bothered. He rather enjoyed the situation a little too much for your taste. Lazily he grabbed a cup and filled it with punch. “Why the hell are you wearing this outfit?” He didn´t turn when answering. “Why not?” “Why not?! Don´t make me even more mad, we both know it couldn´t end well for you!” “Y/n calm down, nobody cares anyway.” He gave you the cup and filled another one.

“I just wanted to have a fun night without your humble self…” “EY Y/n matching with Malfoy? The new dream couple in Hogwarts?” Seamus interrupted you and angrily you spun around to run after him.

“Finnigan you better start running ´cause when I get ahold of you, you won´t be able to run anymore!” You pushed through the crowd, but he quickly disappeared and already exhausted you leaned against a wall and took a sip.

A sip.

After the cup Draco had given you, you drank another and another. And another.

It was already past midnight when you realized that you had lost count and the walls around even started spinning. The loud music began to fade into the background and you swung your hips in the rhythm of the beat, while holding a cup in one hand, in the other Ginny´s hand, you started to daze off into another dimension of drunkenness. Loudly you sang the lyrics only the muggle-born knew, you played beer pong with Fred and George and laughing you chatted with your friends. Since hours you had been on the dancefloor with Ginny and Hermione and even your curly friend started to loosen up with the alcohol. While you enjoyed the feeling of the bass in the course of moving your body in sync, you noticed Ginny giggling in Hermione’s ear and pointing behind you. A few tables away sat Malfoy with his gang and while Pansy tried to have an actual conversation with the blonde, all he could do was watch you. Every other time you would have been annoyed, or disgusted or angry, if he had watched you like this, but now… Now it felt good knowing you had all his attention. The last bit of your conscience was pushed down when you chugged your cup and threw it away. You twirled your head, letting your hair fly, while bending forward. You heard first hollers from Zabini and when you slightly shook you booty, the screams got louder. Quickly you unbent- the sudden urge of vomit rising- and turned to see the whole Slytherin gang watching you. You smirked but only made eye contact with Malfoy. Then, before giving him one last devilish smile, you danced away through the crowd.

What more could a girl want

You had lost sight of Ginny and Hermione, but you didn´t have the time to look for them, you already felt the vomit coming up. With your hand pressed over your mouth you ran out the room towards the girl´s bathrooms. Usually would first ask Fred and George since they had the Marauder´s map, but you could only hope that Filch wasn´t near. The room of requirements let you out on the second floor, close to the girl´s bathrooms and to the Gryffindor common room. You stumbled through the door and your knees hit the ground hard. Your hands hazily grabbed the toilet seat before you threw up.

“Man! Y/N is so hot!” Blaise exclaimed and other boys agreed nodding. “You know if she was a Slytherin, I would…” A sudden punch from Draco stopped him. “Don´t talk about her like that!” He hissed. His friends had already noticed that Draco had been unusually quiet this evening, but that behavior was completely new for him. “What is up with you?” Zabini now asked pissed as well. Draco only rolled his eyes and then left the table. “Where are you going?” Zabini yelled after him. “Catch fresh air!”

The minute Draco stepped out of the room of requirements he lurked around the corners, making sure no teacher was near. When his eyes wandered through the sparsely lighted corridor, he stopped at the door to the girl´s bathroom. A second, he remained at his spot, then he sighed and entered.

He already heard you gagging and his steps quickened. He only saw you dropping down to your knees and lunging out. Quickly he grabbed you around your waist, stopping you from hitting your head on the toilet. When you threw up and he was sure that you could somewhat sit alone, he held your hair back and took the flower crown out of your hair. Just when you were finished you realized someone holding your hair, just then you realized it was Malfoy. “What are you doing here, Malfoy? The skull makeup perfectly highlighted his high cheekbones and his sharp jawline. His blue eyes piercing through the black and white. “Thanks.” You replied, slightly unsure if he even complimented you. You waited a few seconds before asking again.

“Why are you here?” “Oh, Blaise just…”

“No, why are you really here?” He waited, unsure what to say. Should he say the truth? Would you even remember it? “I was worried about you.” He expected you to be laughing, but you didn´t. You sat there, completely still, your big eyes watching him.

“You were worried about me.” You repeated his statement, he sighed and pushed his blazer back to pull out a single flower. “Why are you giving me this?” “Isn´t that what people do when they like someone?”

You turned the flower in your hand, eyeing it from all angles in it´s beauty. Then you looked back up to him. “You like me?” He huffed, slightly laughing and sat down as well, right next to you, your shoulders touching. “Is that bad?” You didn´t look at him, but slowly you shook your head. You felt his eyes laying on you and you looked back at him. You felt him coming closer, his eyes traveling down to your lips and when you were only inches apart, you could already feel his breath, you pulled back. Immediately Draco did the same. “Did I do something wrong?” You quickly shook your head. “No… No, I just… I just threw up, I don´t think you want to kiss me now.” He laughed and for the first time you realized what a beautiful laugh he had. He grabbed your hand, ready to pull you up, but you remained on the floor. “Let´s get you into bed.” “No!” You exclaimed, he looked at you surprised. You still held his hand and pulled him back next to you. “Let´s stay here, please.” He nodded and you laid your head on his shoulders. “I´m afraid this is all a dream and tomorrow I wake up and it´s over.” You admitted. His thumb brushed over the back of your hand. “Me too.”

BROKE WITH EXPENSIVE TASTE BY AZEALIA BANKS

This is one of the greatest female hip-hop album of all time, it experiences with different styles and sounds. It spawned the mega-hit ‘212′, no songs are fillers or give you the urge to skip (apart from ‘Nude Beach a Go-Go’). Banks puts different genres together and in my opinion is considered a masterpiece and easily beats any Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Lil’ Kim, Iggy Azalea or Remy Ma album (no shade, just facts).

The Pinkprint? Hardcore? The New Classic? Invasion Of Privacy?

Sorry.. never heard of them only ‘Broke with expensive taste’

1. Idle Deliah

This track starts the album of with a electro style beat and lyrics that draw your attention.

Credit: Banks Twitter “Idle Delilah is the the daughter of a famed white slave owner in the 1900’s who was killed by her own father’s slaves. One day, the white man’s slaves grow tired of his bad treatment and decide to kill his favorite daughter Delilah as payback. So the dead Idle Delilah, the one I’m singing of in the song, is defined as a spirit of time. She represents procrastination. She lives behind doors and hides in garbage cans.”

2. Gimme a Chance’

starts of with a old school beat, lyrics “That's the way that our love can grow” which is directly sampled from Enon’s ‘Knock that door’ The song continues, Banks raps in Spanish and the outro features a male voice talking in Spanish.

This track was first shown on Banks' earliest mixtape, (’Fantasea’) Before the Expensive Taste, but with different verses. Both versions of the song sample ‘Knock That Door’ by indie rock band Enon.

3. Desperado

is my personal favourite, simply because of the hardcore rap, a perfect beat that fits and electronic effects. The beat and hook are from MJ Cole’s ‘Bandelero Desperado’, which is taken from his album Sincere.

Lyrics ‘Seductive Pup’ plays on one of the albums themes, which is referencing men as dogs, i.e. ‘Wallace’ and Album Outro ‘Miss Camaraderie’

4. JFK

is like a sequel to her previous song ‘Fierce’ found of her earlier mixtape ‘Fantasea’ this song starts with a mesmerising beat, seconds later Banks’ raps about looking and feeling expensive.

‘Lady in the floor’ is a vogue ball reference. She pays homage to her song ‘Fierce’ in the lyrics ‘it’s a ball, not a prom’

5. 212′

the debut song that sparked her career and made her a pioneer for female rap to this day, the catchy chorus ‘What you gon' do when I appear? When I premiere? Bitch the end of your lives are near This shit been mine!’ is about Banks telling her “competition” that their careers are over when she comes out.

6. Wallace

is a step up and can be consider one of her most catchy songs yet- at least in till her second studio album is released (confirmed release 2019) the continuation of her earlier mixtape ‘Fantasea’.

7. Heavy Metal and Reflective

is nasty (in a good way) provocative song, it symbolises her personality and the music video does not disappoint.

The starting lyrics ‘Fridgy Froze Kept It's that fresh bitch’ means she is a young and modern rapper; shes new to the game. The chorus ‘Ayo, you know well I'm with that Get Rich’ confirms that she gets money of her music. Lyrics ‘Find me in the borough If you thorough and that bread flip’ means you can find her in New York.

8. BBD

starts with a quick beat and she starts rapping about showing off her riches and styles on people who dislike her because of her status, She’s a high ranking money maker. The song is a anthem for strong and confident women.

The story behind this song is Banks posted this track online in January 2013. But at the time it was not confirmed for Broke with Expensive Taste, late the next year it ended up on the track listing.

9. Ice Princess

is probably the second song I heard of Banks, and I instantly fell in love. The song talks about stealing men and being a princess, its a simple ballad. The backing almost speaks to you, it has a winter vibe and could feels like it fits in a ‘Frozen’ film- well without the rapping.

Fact: This isn’t the only time Banks has made a winter themed song, in December 2018 she released her EP ‘Icy Colours Change’ on Streaming Services, Vinyl and CD.

10. Yung Rapunzel

is one of the more memorable tracks, It has a beat that draws you in followed with fast verses that make you want to dance. The chorus features extreme shouting, 50% may hate it, but the other 50% may think it fits.

I’m the second option, I'm a very hyper person and the chorus only hypes me more- it could due to yours personality or style of music.

11. Soda

Where do I start with this song? The music video is AMAZING! feels very 90′s. The Chrous makes me want to dance- well every song does.

WARNING: The song may not be about sodas but it will make you dance like a MAD MAN, usually like what a soda does to you.

12 Chasing Time

charted high on the BBH100 but popularity never measures true talent, something this song both goes above and beyond with. The lyrics I nay opinion, sounds like being stuck in some type of emotional degrading relationship, doesn’t matter what type it is Emotional, Physical, Sexual, Neglect it speaks to ANY negative relationship.

The chorus is catchy and makes me think, the raps are emotion (YES! with years of listening to hip-hop I have never heard of a rap that affects me emotionally).

13. Luxury

has shockingly amazing notes, (WHO KNEW SHE COULD ALSO SING) The chorus is odd, and makes an odds sound at the end, I copy it every time!

14. Nude Beach A Go-Go

ok, so I know she was experimenting but this song deserve to be fired into the sun, along with Cardi B’s mixtapes (once again, no shade just facts.) It sounds like a Pepsi advert, and not in a good way, I would never listen to this on a beach, this is an instant skip.

15. Miss Amor

is an easily forgettable song in the Azealia Banks library, but does not for a SECOND deserve to be discredited, the song had a great premise. When Miss Amor was going to be a single, its B-side was to be ‘Miss Camaraderie’ while that never happened, the two songs were still paired together as the last two tracks on Broke with Expensive Taste.

Fact: “Miss Amor” was to be the first single from Azealia Banks' debut album, Broke with Expensive Tastebut, according to Banks, after her record label Interscope heard the track “Yung Rapunxel,”, they made it the first single instead.

16. Miss Camaraderie

The whole song is catchy and (once again) makes you want to dance. The song is pure bliss and happiness, the song deals with falling in love again.

Following from ‘Miss Amor’ story of being able to date after a heartbreak, ‘Miss Camaraderie’ is about being able to fall in love again post-breakup.

Overall, this album is high on my favourite albums of all time and I will have on repeat for years to come, this album is a pure piece of art, nobody is on Azealia’s level in the rap game eat the moment, nobody’s pen is better then hers (at least In female rap). Well, lets she if Banks can top this off with her high acclaimed second studio album ‘Fantasea II: A New Wave’.

The second half of the album step out of it’s shell and uses unique sounds from different genres and it manages to fit. Second half is a lot better then the first half. I do recommend this album to Hip-Hop fans, or even people who just want some songs to dance to.

Part 14

Today Kim came up to me and A-aron and told us that her and Karen are going to see Hannah Montana in concert. I was like yo Hannah Montana is my jam! They said they were going to hard core marathon all the shows ever made because you know you got to have the #bestofbothworlds. A-Aron and I thought it was a good idea for Karen and Kim a night to themselves.

Later I went shopping with my mom she asked me what I wanted I replied with my usual watermalon! She then asked me what else I wanted I said I dont know yellow is my favorite flavor. So she grabbed a lemon I said no you stupid bitch I said yellow. So she finally got the hint and got a box of just yellow crayons.

That night I played Wii bowling with my bro A-Aron and I was like get good scrub you bowl like your mom and he said it be like that sometimes. Then we got high #hugsnotdrugs #brosfohoes #instaverified. Anyway since kim has had her kids her tits are like #nexleval I wish she would call me daddy 🤤

Part 15

Since the girls are going out tonight A-Aron and I have to take care of the babies. #notavibe but I will still help him apparently his kid Jim said his first words they were "shove it Karen jr. #fuckit" we could not be more proud of him!

I hope A-Aron and I can raise these kids just as good a Sanic and Shrek raised their kids. Each of Sanic and Shreks kids have their own swamps that's what I call very successful.

Meanwhile at the concert Karen passed out from drinking too much and Kim is half naked and Karona is dancing on stage with Hannah Montana and Milly Cyrus herself it was very hardcore.

Part 16

Karona fell off the stage but it's ok because Billy Rae Cyrus caught her. They looked deep into each others eyes until rudely interrupted by Karen . "Excuse me!" Karen exclaimed. The Billy and her eyes locked he straight up yeeted Karona and they had some premarital kissing. Gross!

That day A-Aron texted me. "You ready to rob a bank?" I was like WTF A-Aron did you take your ADHD medication. He was like "I thought we were bros weather I took my meds or not!" "But to be honest I didn't" I said you should probably do that we will talk later. A-Aron than says "I love you bro no homo"

The girls had fun at the concert but Karona is still a little upset that Karen stole Billy from her. But they made up since Karen said "he's horrible kisser I ended up complaining to his manager Hannah Montana about it!" "And we broke up." Karona was glad she dodged a bullet with that one thank our lord and savior Dr. Phil

Part 17

A-Aron and I have to clean his room today apparently I cause 90% of the messes. Anyway his room has a white boy white sanfransico vibe to it, it has several posters of pokeman. It also have posters of big time rush. After picking up his several pairs of board shorts we are lunch which of course was case of dillos #cultured.

Karen jr. Finally learned how to complain to the manager today since we went to friendlies and she got the wrong ice cream. Jim said shut the F up Karen and Boe just minded his own business.

I cant believe Karen won the presidency! Surprisingly since she was going against Bloomerberg. Science he is an old white man and she is a black Mexican. She didn't have a great chance but she made it. She is going to make America love shrek again.

Part 18

In Chillerys class today we were listening to one of those educational songs and low key I got turnt as hell listening to it. Later I ended up buying it on iTunes for my blue totally awesome ipod shuffle. I listened to it only 600 more times. I even made a dance to it to show Chillery tomorrow in class.

We all stood up and said the pledge of the memeist then saluted the flag with Shrek on it with our middle finger as it is the way he would want it. Then we said long live our president Karen amen 🙏. Then we all dabbed and coughed in each other's faces.

That night Aaron, his family and I went to the cheesecake factory and we ate like kings. It was very good till I got home and had explosive diariah every where. Gross.

Part 19

Today I started talking to Korona cause she a cutie. She and I decided to go on a online date on roblox since that game bops. Anyway we were thinking about going to Mac Daddys for dinner on Friday I'm excited! Except when we got there Mac Daddys was closed so we had to hard-core hand job and then well you can only imagine what happened next. Its closed because of of the pepperona.

But its ok because I got quarantined with her which was nice because we did a lot of HBO and chill. We take a couple hits of the mareajowana. She is my Quranqueen.

School is online now and Chillery was talking to us then all of the sudden there was a loud noise. "What was that" Chillery yelled. A-aron raised his hand and said sorry that was me I dropped my iPad. "I soiled my depends" Chillery exclaimed. I than said Sah bro to him and Chillery yelled shut the F up. Whoh Chillery has no chill.

That night I went home and I printed off some black and white nudes for my sweet heart KTVSPN4 I hope she likes them.

Part 20

Today in school a new student came on line her name is Cardi B. All of the sudden someone who had been quiet all day raised their hand. What is it asked Carol Baskin our art teacher. "Yes, is that short for something?" Cardis cheeks turned bright red she hung her head and embarrassed and said "it's short for Carigan Backyardagain" thewhole class laughed. Carol said if we don't stop she would feed us to tigers so we shut right up.

Today after classes Karona came over we had sex and I was pretty sure I tore my rectum. But you know what they say chuck it in the fuck it bucket. Also #worthit. She enjoyed it which is good because we don't waste. Especially seman and hot pickles oh my goodness after eating one of those and watching the hot pickle movie 🤤. Hot pickle I need to repent.

The next day A-aron was down and before class Skyped my friend group apparently Karen Jr. Was getting to be a handful. Thankfully Karona is into all of the astrology stuff and a-aron yelled "what can you tell me about scoripos?" The answer was simple don't be a donter...

Chapter 21

I got home and listened to Thomas the dank engine. Then all of the sudden Korona called me. "Honey you know how we had 69 on 4/20?" Yes I answered "well I'm #tomato sauce" what? "I'm sorry I'm prego" she exclaimed I said it was going to be ok and we would figure it out. "Wow you are the best" she said.

That next day in music class we had a project to write a song about someone who inspired us. Danny Devito went first "yes this is a song about me." He said he went on singing -"this won't make us fall there is still one man we can call, Danny Devito the one that we need oh" it was very catchy. The teacher wasn't pleased but it was better then kims song about Carol Baskin.

I'm so happy Karona is prego, today we find out the gender of our baby. Turns out its a girl we are going to name her corona lite extra. I can't wait until our beautiful baby is born!

The next day in class Carole was singing about her husband it was very sus talking about sardine oil on her husband. And something about tigers and how they be snacking on his meat I don't think in a good way. Anyway big yikes.

We had a baby shower for Karona of course on the internet dont want this weird virus. She got a onsie it said dada on it I can't wait for our baby to wear it.

Part 22

A-aron sent me a link last night it said under the link "looks like you" I of course clicked on it and you will never guess what happened. It brought me to a separate video I watched it there was some unmentionable stuff happening in it, I texted A-aron and said "I think that video gave me cancer" he texted "Thanks Obama!"

The baby is due next month and we couldn't be happier we decided that when its born we are not going to vaccinate our child because autism. Dont want our kid to be messed up for life. We are going to be using natural oils and food made from home and of course cloth diapers. Got to make sure she is perfect.

At lunch I was telling A-aron our plan he completely agreed that autism is way worse than being susptible to the flu or polio he said they didn't get Karen Jr. Vaccinated and she has only gotten small pox once and the flu 4 times since she has been alive. To me thats worth it

Karen started talking about "he own business on Facebook and is trying to get us to start our own. "It only takes one second to share" she sells essential oils.

I'm so excited for Karona to have the baby any day now she will arrive and we will be so happy and a family.

Part 24

Karona went into labor in quarantine with me I delivered my own child! Like we said it is a girl so we will be naming her Karona extra light.

She was healthy and thank goodness 🙏 it was a home birth because hospitals are so disgusting and they might vaccinate her and we don't want that because everything we are doing is all natural. We are even using cloth diapers because the government expects you to use disposable but i just can't in good conscience do that to my sweet daughter.

Karona is nursing which is great because we are planning on nursing her till she is 5 because breast is best.

Part 25

Today on Facebook Karen posted one of her normal posts. "Does anyone have a truck I can borrow need to move a couch also if you could help me that would be great!." And "does anyone have any Bobby pins I can borrow?" "I'm so done with everything" "anyone want to buy essential oils and be a model for me for free?"

What a bitch just trying to get free stuff from people I never understood asking for stuff like that. Like a few things here and there but every day is kinda ridiculous. Plus who barrows Bobby pins like wtf. Like I'm pretty sure those are one time use.

Today Karen also asked me if I would sell essential oils for 10% of the profits. She also said using them could help me lose up to 10 pounds. She said it just takes 2000$ to start out but I'll earn it back next month.

Yeah right I'll earn it back never. I just told her I wasn't interested which she got really upset with. "You know you just lost me 300$!" -yeah I did the math 10% of 300 is 30. Dumb bitch oh well.

Part 26

Karona extra light started talking today apparently she is religious because first thing she said was you may be verified on Twitter but are you verified in the eyes of the lord.

I have had many conflicting feelings lately back in elementary I liked guys but now and then I liked both, but now I'm leaning more towards girls but I still sometimes have feelings for guys. Any way I'm just going to come out as Bi because I still like some guys but lean more towards females. I told Kim she was totally excepting.

Kim started a job at worst purchase today she said her day was so easy and they are actually paying her a good amount. I'm proud of who she is

Well now that I got it figured out my name is Atlas Consintine I am bi-sexaul and I'm still trying to figure it all out. His sleeper hit introduction, Absentia, is as tough as it's fucking dark, along with his latest movie, the Netflix first Gerald's Game, was hailed as one of the greatest Stephen King adaptations. Hush is Flanagan in his low-key, but his most inventive, where a home-invasion thriller finds new life from the conceit of the protagonist becoming a deaf girl. Flanagan sets us in her sneakers sometimes, eliminating arguably the most crucial sense in regards to frightening shit and uses it to create matters even scarier.

It Follows

In case you haven't noticed It Follows however, what exactly are you doing? David Robert Mitchell's astoundingly guaranteed pure horror of a movie is really a loud, quick nightmare with a few graphics that can haunt you for quite a while after it is finished.

Piranha

Billed as Piranha 3D in theatres, you just won't possess more absurd, trashy pleasure seeing a marine-based horror film this summer, also yes, that contains the unforgivably boring The Meg.

Raw

Among the very hardcore, batshit movies to have come from this French Horror wave, Raw is equally a well-considered coming of age film, and a totally bonkers hot cannibal film. You are going to absolutely love it.

The Boy

I have spoken at length about the virtues of this cult hit puppet movie The Boy before. It is a gothic horror that is a lot more hip than its trappings need, and while it is not an art-house victory, it keeps the tension going up till one of the best spins in contemporary horror. Seriously.

The Invitation

In the event that you were to distill my favourite movie genre to some Netflix-style-collection name, then it could be something along the lines of"jerks in a tense dinner celebration in which some thing really, really wrong is going down" So, yes, The Invitation is the best film. Thank you.

The Strangers

Released to little fanfare over 10 (!) Years before, this freaky little-home-invasion terror does sufficient first things to claw its way over the huge majority of"people in masks scaring an attractive bunch" films. There is a sort-of sequel which came out earlier this season which is not half bad, either!

Train to Busan

I believed I was burnt out on zombie films, and I definitely thought I was burnt out to"horror films which use an outside danger to emphasise the selfless merit of fatherhood." I'm very, very happy this film proved me wrong.

Ok so ill be honest here..... I cant find anything on this one besides people who were freaked out about seeing Urza and Mishra as handsome looking anime boys. If anyone can find something on this, let me know ASAP because all my research as yealded like 10 forum threads older than Urza going “HUUURRR MAGIC CANT BE JAPANIMATION” However I did find out that it as done by Toshihiro Ono who did the Electric Tales of Pikachu manga.Or if your a perv you know him from hardcore erm..... what?

Next up is the slightly more well known Moe Tsukinu Honoo an adaptation of the Purifying Fires book. As far as I know its only a few chapters long. This one is officially wizards and oddly enough, they promoted it on their website but not enough to translate. Scans exist for it but from what ive found Wizards requested the translator to take them down for some reason. Game I Liked

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Skyrim is one of the most played game of all time and is one of the game that brings me back great memories and feeling, never ending missions, Skyrim offers a lot of adventures and quests around the entire world, and it doubles with DLC expansions. Rewards are sometimes not the best, but the time spent on them, resources and experience archived are much more satisfaction and they add more lore and information about the world around you.

Skyrim is an easy game one you pick up and doesn’t offer you difficult situations, you can pause the game and use potions or eat food to recover health, stamina and mana. Enemies are easy to avoid is the lowest difficulty. The biggest challenge is exploring all the world of Skyrim, encounters with legendary dragons, exploring the dwemers dungeons, finding the ancient artefacts.

What I Like

Massive open world, your character is free to travel everywhere around the world of Skyrim, the player can interact with every NPC in the world and create his own adventure.

Character creation and evolution is massive, you character can learn different magics, craft weapons and armours, create potions and poisons, build up your own strategy to survive dungeons and gathered allies to travel the world of Skyrim.

Glitches and bugs are fun and add more hilarious moments in Skyrim, the game can be modified to allow the player an infinite game experience. The game is easy to mod and players keep creating new mods every year.

What I don’t like

Hostile NPC and enemies have easy patterns of attack and similar interactions, enemies can be easily avoided by running across the dungeons, most of them are close combat and slow. NPC can be killed easily with magic and ranged weapons.

The game can be paused this mechanic is acceptable and a lot of games use this system, but Skyrim allows the player to pause the menu during a fight and fully restore you character attributes and stats by eating or using potions, the player can even change the character gear, armour weapons and magics during a fight (normal enemies, boss battle) by pausing the game.

Stealth in Skyrim is tricky the player can save behind the NPC trying stealing and reloading until he gets all the loot. During a quest in the thief guild the player will eventually get the skeleton key, a game breaking items that allow the player to lockpick all the treasure without breaking the lock and getting caught.

Dragon encounters is one of the key elements of Skyrim, the entire story is concentrated around the returns of dragons and the player is the only one that can stop them. The first dragon fight is memorable due to the iconic song playing during the fight and the element of surprise. After some fights the dragon can be easily slayed by the player, they are share similar attack (breath fire tail swing and bites) they are not challenging at all and they become more that a common enemy in the world.

Boss fights are easiest things to do in Skyrim if you are ranged at low levels, at medium high levelled player can tank the damage of the boss and keep attacking it till he is dead laying in the floor. If the fight gets hard the player can pause the battle and fully restore is health bar.

Bugs, glitches and crashes, Skyrim is one of the most bugged game ever, the games have so many issues and problems that it becomes a key factor of gameplay, players can use bugs to get loots, money, materials and even rare objects by using the game breaking mechanic like walking through walls.

Improvements/changes

Skyrim offers a lot of choice to the player, one of the most important gameplay aspect is the menu of Skyrim, the game allows you to pause a boss battle or other important encounters by opening the menu.

Any improvements that the game can add or change for future game of the franchise is to allow the player to have a challenge during fight, players can choose a difficulty level in the game, but this doesn’t affect the gameplay at all. My suggestion is to make the game running when the menu is opened so the player will be cautious when he use the menu for changing items. During fights the player cannot access the menu bar due to a fight with an enemy.

Another options is to create a player character controlling inventory (like the Witcher 3) were the player can controls the status, armours and weapons of the character

The only available options for improvements for Skyrim and the only version that support them is PC.

Pro

-faster confrontation of items and stats.

-a cleaner gameplay.

Cons

-items can be limited to choose and will eventually open other menus.

-items are separated from each other by section, so the player need more time to search them.

Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls 3 is the third and last game of the Dark soul’s franchise.

Dark Souls adventures is open and not straightforward, the player doesn’t have a main quest to follow but a world to discover and find is own way to complete the game.

Advantages

Character creation and freedom of choice.

The player can create his own build and choose is own playstyle, lots of different options are available.

Weapons feels unique and they give you a satisfaction when you use them in the correct way.

You can create unique build with variations, you can use magics combinate with sword play, or even cast different abilities with your weapon art or shields, lots of supportive miracles are available, pyromancies allows you to damage multiple enemies.

Online is available and you can summons your friends using a password system, this is one important aspect that dark souls 3 introduced in the franchise, password system allows a player to summon other phantom with the same password, this allow you even to access arenas and PvP areas with your friends.

What I don’t like

The game has less armour variety that other dark souls (dark souls 2).

Some of the armour are remake from dark souls 1, other armour is just a rusty, broken version of armour from dark souls 2.

The game has different weapons but some of them need high stats to use efficiently and this leads the player to invest more time levelling up to match the stats for use their weapon.

Another weapon is just bad and totally useless, example is the storm rule, a weapon use to defeat a boss, this weapon deal less or even nothing to enemies and players.

Dark souls 2 had a feature that if you use two weapon of the same attributes (example 2 curve sword, two long swords, two katanas) you can use both weapon combined, but the stamina will drain faster.

Dark souls 3 has a simple and more straightforward tutorial and boss fight for the beginning part of the game, nearly removing the element of surprises for veterans.

The easiest dark souls among all 3 and doesn’t offer you a challenge at all except for side boss (nameless king) and few main boss (twin prince, lord of cinder).

DLC have a massive number of weapons but few unique armour and magics.

DLC bosses are over exaggerated with massive amount of health bar and 2 3 different phases of fight.

The game NG+ doesn’t affect anything expect the damage of the enemies and items drop rates.

Armours feel unreliable and boring to watch not like it previous games (Dark souls 2)

Improvements/changes

Dark souls 3 removes a lot of armours from his previous games (dark souls 1-2) one of the core aspect of the game was his various armours and weapons from boss fights and important enemy’s encounters. Armours weren’t important for the status but for the customization of the character to make all your character look unique and special.

Dark souls 3 allows the player to use the first-person mode with some items (binocles) or weapons like bows, this gameplay can be adding to the main game, the player can have a more immersive gameplay with dark souls 3 using the first-person mode

3rd Person

1st Person

The games will allow the player to play more strategically and think about their actions before striking down their opponents, player can still change the camera in the menu of dark souls 3.

The game will eventually become harder because the player can’t watch his back, but this won’t stop hard core player who is looking for a challenge.

This feature is only available with mods in the pc versions.

Pro

-A more immersive gameplay for veterans and new players.

-more strategical and hardcore.

Cons

-the gameplay can be hard, player can’t cover 360-degree camera.

-first person camera during boss fight can hide attacks from the boss or environments.

Game I Disliked

Lord of the fallen

Lord of the fallen is a RPG game where you control a pre-existing character and fallow is story line.

What I like

The combat feels satisfy sing at the beginning of the game.

The design of the environment and the music is good in some part of the game.

Risk-reward system (like dark souls)

What I don’t like

Boss battle are repetitive and boring, makes the player leave the game.

Camera system is bugged and is an obstacle to the player during most fights in the game.

numerous bugs and glitches, that ruins the game and prevent the player to keep playing the game.

some weapon is stronger that other, boss battle is easiest, and some areas don’t give a challenge.

Improvements/changes

The game start with this character and you are stuck with it for the rest of the game, I really don’t like it and I want to crate my own character. I feel like a character creation system is essential to this type of games. In lord of the fallen you only able to choose the class of the main protagonist.

A class choise is availab;le to choose, but that is the only options we got for the game. I think with a more wide varietion of character the game could really be more enjoyable.

Pro

-more options for character creation, more player will be fashinated and focused in the game.

-more choise, different gameplay.

Cons

-character creation may not capture the attention of casual player.

-difficult to create a character creation system if the story is concentrated to the main protagonist.

Destiny

Destiny was one of the most played game when it was released, the game offers you a new RPG system, not in a fantasy world but instead in a distant future where you are one of the last survivors of earth.

What I Like

You can choose and create your own character; different race options are available and customisations like face feature and colours.

You can choose your class in Destiny, classes have different skills and they can evolve into side classes and unlock new skills.

Fun with friends for the first hours of gameplay.

Different options and customisations for character, weapons and vehicles.

Different classes and builds, classes can evolve in different sub-classes giving you a vaster choice of gameplay.

RPG skill system work well with the FPS shooting system.

What I don’t like

Random loot boxes are the reward for completing any missions in destiny, the value of these boxes doesn’t affect your level or your skill in the game, you have high probability to get a bad item even if you perform well in the mission.

DLC add more options to the game and new items, the player with DLC and extra content are stronger.

The game item variation is massive and complicated, players must play missions to get few random items.

Missions are repetitive, and each planet have only one map. Missions are played in the same map for all the campaign.

The game is boring after few hours if you play alone.

Improvements/changes

An important features of RPG games are items, destiny items are random dropped from mission and creates, reward and some trader around the city.

Having an item shop where you can have a catalogue of items is important for RPG, so players doesn’t get confused by the items system, it allows the player to save in-game currency to buy items that they like.

Pro

-Player will be able to buy items of their choice and complete their gear.

-Players are more motivated to play the game to buy their items.

Cons

-Loot systems fall back, player will no longer grind for items in missions.

-player will may play the one they finished their builds.

its been like.. two weeks i guess??? idk i dont remember the last time i posted hahahah oops

school has been sucking the life out of me and its really just... not good,,

right ok i got a lot of explaining to do and this is gonna be v long but you know what i’ll put a tl;dr at the end if you'd rather not read long walls of text

yes i am well aware i posted something along the sort of this back in january however, im reiterating some points from back then as well as having to revise some points and explain a couple of things so here we go (under the cut)

i currently have two weeks of easter break (thank jesus) but i will be studying pretty hardcore from here on out because my exams start very soon :/ and i cant afford to slack on these exams because they’re basically going to decide my future lmao

i apologise for the lack of posts and art or whatever you could possibly follow me for in which case idk what,, but thats gonna keep going till the end of exams aka end of june. in which case after that you’re gonna see so much of me you’ll probably get sick of me ;’) this summer will be when i really try to step up my art game and all that jazz, like starting to draw other kpop groups i stan, potentially open an online shop for kpop fanart merch, whatever compels me at that point, either way, i will be much more active during summer, providing that my current art state is over (ill explain this next)

another important point to make is that i have really tried to keep up with these birthday gifts but it consumes so much more time than i originally anticipated that it would and im struggling to keep up with the dates along with my school work. i sincerely apologise to everyone and for the upcoming birthdays for my lateness. part of this is also because im currently in an art slump, where i fail to draw almost anything to the point where i cant even doodle at school. arguably this happens all the time during this time of year (final stretch before exams and the like) so i should have expected it, however i do with for people to bear with me. i will try to complete all late birthday gifts asap, and hopefully complete a bunch in advance for posting after the school term restarts but i cannot promise anything, i hope you can all understand

regarding requests and to any who were possibly interested; during the times i was still posting somewhat frequently, i was planning to open them this easter break. however after going through the last two weeks without having an ounce of time to draw let alone motivation, i dont think i;ll be doing that. (i do still have one request to do that i’ve struggled on for a long time so thats another thing) again, i apologise to people who were interested in requests. i can assure you that after everything is finished and summer break is here they will be open again, however it is very likely that i may start doing commissions (aka you pay a set fee for art) alongside it thus requests may be of limited slots of something of the sort, but i will definitely continue doing requests no matter what even if they’re temporarily closed.

Some real talk here, because I don’t know where else to vent:

Why am I in college?

I’m mediocre at everything I do. I try to be good at some things: Photography, Art, gaming, cosplaying, larping and I’m just so...bland. So not interesting.

I try to good with photography, and my roommate constantly shows me up and is fucking amazing at it. No one on the floor complements my stuff, but they complement her stuff. I love my roommate, but I feel like I’m in her shadow here.

I try to be good at art, but they always come out so fucking dull. And I can’t show some of it b/c I’ll be judged for being a “furry” because everyone here looks down on that and I don’t want to deal with that.

Gaming, I’m a fucking dipshit. Can’t do shit.

Cosplaying? Can’t make shit. And when I do, I get judged hardcore and it destroys my little bits of confidence. So I buy it, and I look meh.

I’m also getting more and more jealous of my roomie, and I’m trying very hard to avoid that. Jealousy is toxic, and it’s eating away at me. I’m so jealous that she’s a freshman and gets to get COLLEGE CREDIT for horse back riding. I’m jealous of her photos, her art, her talents, pretty much everything. Where people look forward to seeing her stuff, not one ACTUALLY cares about me over here beyond the fucking few sympathetic “oh i care, but Im really just trying to make you feel better” people.

So that’s been eating at me. But wait, there’s more.

I took a chem class last semester that was like the hardest thing in the world for me. It’s not for my roomie. It’s a fucking breeze. I bet she’s going to get a fucking A on the exam and go on about how easy it is, while I will just be here like, “Yeah the best I did was a 76.” The part where I get jealous and upset is that I FUCKING WORKED mY aSS OFF DAY and NIGHT AND STILL GOT SHIT GRADES, and she mostly procrastinates and gets good grades? I feel fucking gr8.

Well I just bombed a chem exam. Again. So I feel great about that.

And my neighbors ARE SO FUCKing LOUD that im constantly having breakdowns from the sheer stress.

So uh yeah, having a good time.

Also during exams, I always get stuck next to people that do little things to distract or annoy me. Last semester it was a guy who constantly bumbed my chair/the table. This exam, the girl next to me blew her nose through the hole exam. And she was right.fucking.next.to.me. So I’m probably going to get sick now. Gr8

On the walk back to my dorm, I cried the whole way like a fucking baby so that was nice. And then I thought about walking in front of a truck on the road and just letting it kill me. But I didn’t. Because not only am I mediocre, I’m fucking scared too like a little bitch. That AND I didn’t want to have someone else having to live with the fact that they killed me for the rest of their life.

So here I am. In my room. Wishing, just wishing I had a gun so bad. Or that someone with a gun would just barge into my room and end my life. What’s the point of my existence if I’m stuck in this stupore of not being good at anything? Of being mediocre? Mediocre people don’t get anywhere in this world.

I just want to fucking die, but I’m too cowardly to take my own life.

P.S: I also need to talk to my roomate about going to bed so god awful early because I don’t get done with school till like 9pm and that’s when she goes to bed so how the fuck am I supposed to have free time

With that, I’m off to play some smite then go to bed and hopefully never fucking wake up.

Week 1 AKA feeling like a first year again

This right here is Ķemeri bog and its the literal Dead Marshes from LotR and this is where I want to be buried.

The world is super small and all the trams and trolleys in Rīga are made in Czech republic. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

First days of school were real fun. Until Sunday evening we didn’t really have the timetables, bcs link they gave us in the materials led to a page that hadn’t been updated since spring. Google disappointed us. Someone must’ve bribed some university officials and in the end we got to the page. I thought that was the biggest problem to overcome.

Every single class began with a new wave of panic when the teachers started speaking Latvian. Don’t worry, your Korean teacher will talk to you in Korean only. I can’t speak Korean. Even the hardcore k-pop fans and dorama lovers can say only a couple of words or sentences. The teacher hands our books. They are in Latvian. But don’t worry, Erasmus, you’re not gonna use them, it’s just a present, bcs the professor is so happy to have it printed finally. The book has been lying on my table since then, constant reminder of language barrier. I don’t know if it motivates me more to learn Latvian so that I can study Korean through it, or if it’s the other way around.

But having Korean textbook is one thing, but Latvian textbook in Latvian is a whole new level. There’s nothing to save you, no rope to hold onto. It’s not a nightmare I had, it’s reality. Our textbook is all in Latvian.

Japanese lessons are cancelled, the teacher is not in Latvia yet, my classmates tell me. Does it mean we don’t have a teacher? How does this university work?

Haijima-sensei is a Latvian lady that teaches Japanese art history. She agrees to do it in English. Victory. I soon find out that she doesn’t really teach, she just plays documentaries on different topics and translates them. It’s still better than the big nothing on Japanese art that we have in Olomouc.

On the opposite side of the street from Faculty of Humanities is a Yolo Cafe and it’s the best joke ever.

I explore the library that is in the building and fall in love instantly. It’s small and cozy and there’s shitton of books on Japan. I also found Czech books. This is all of them. Half of them is Kundera. There’s Latvian translation of Švejk, Seifert and Viewegh. I am tempted to ask the librarians if anyone actually reads them and if it would make them happy if I brought them some books from home after Christmas.

This picture right here might look like a scene from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but it’s actually the view from our dormitory kitchen. There’s also trains with writings in Russian passing behind this abandoned building now and then and it adds to the atmosphere. I love it.

About the kitchens. They are the meeting place. This is where you start relationships, bcs it’s so easy to start talking when the opening lines are so easy and obvious - Whatcha cookin’? If you are lucky, you get free food samples. I play a game when I’m trying to guess from where people are by the looks of the food they’re cooking.

I found my people. Unicon Cafe is a geek bar not far from the center of Rīga and they have about everything your heart might desire. Small TARDIS for the tips, big one in the corner for proper time-travel selfies, posters, flags, board games and Bill Cypher in the window. And also several-pages-long list of drinks named after everything, starting with the Hogwarts houses, through legendary Pokémons, all the way to houses from Game of thrones. And those were very popular my first night there, since it was a Game of Thrones party.

People who own the bar also do summer and winter cons and shitton of various events over the rest of the year. Kudos for active community ♥

As the week proceeded to it’s end, it was gaining on intensity. Friday seemed to have not 24, but at least 48 hours. It started with being almost killed by a Latvian wasp. Then the universe balanced itself when another teacher of Korean(bcs they can’t have just one at the uni) told me that she wants to talk to the class in Latvian and that I can go home. Since it was 8.30am I was more than happy to oblige. M. and A. + P., her new Hungarian roommate, were planning to go to Ķemeri (it’s pronounced Ťemeri, ok, Latvian has to be special and I’m crying in phonetic transcription) bog trail not long after I made it to the dorms. My forearm was swelled af, but the weather was nice(and that’s something you start to really appreciate when you are in Latvia) and coincidences don’t exist, so I took Zodac and decided to pack a lunch and go with them.

I was not disappointed.

We have the opportunity to taste what travelling with Latvian railways is like. It’s bumpy, but else, pretty ok. Ķemeri used to be pretty popular spa town, or something like that, but now it’s basically just the train station that brings ppl that go to the national park that’s close to the city. When we were waiting for our train back, we found one small shop that was probably the only one in the whole town, by the number of people that came there in the time we were enjoying ice cream outside.

The way to the bog is supposed to take 20 minutes, but it’s almost an hour and we have to cross a highway at one point. I’m not complaining though, bcs at least half of the way leads next to an old cemetery that is part of the forest. The others are getting skeptical, but I have Pokémon GO on and if there’s a pokéstop in the distance, it has to mean there’s something resembling civilization nearby.

We find a field that is a giant parking lot and there’s even a man selling parking tickets. There are two or three cars parked. Either it’s the best job ever, sitting in the middle of field in a forest and doing nothing for the most of the day, or the tourist season is over. Further into the forest we pass a blue caravan. There’s a lady selling coffee, beer, chips and ice cream. It’s very surreal.

The bog is pure magic. It’s quiet, more quiet than should be possible. There a pair of ravens flying over it and the sounds they make carries into the distance. I think about the Dead Marshes in Lords of the Rings. (Later I found out that the Ķemeri bog was indeed a dead bog and that there should be several thousand soldiers’ bodies decaying somewhere around that area)

On one of the tables with info about the bog there was a part about safety etc. It said that swimming in the small lakes in the national park is not recommended. Not forbidden, just not recommended. So if you wanna go and die a poetic death in the bog, feel free to do that, you’re not gonna be breaking any laws *wink wink*

When we were on top of an observation platform in the middle of the trail it hit us just how flat this country is.

But that was not the end, in the evening I found my own Rīga’s Plán B(R.I.P.) called DEPO, made some new friends and listened to some pretty cool music.

And learned an important lesson.

Even though Rīga is the capital and even though there’s shitton of public transport during the day, there’s only one single tram going from the city center in the direction of our dorms at 0.40am and if you miss that, it’s either party till the morning, or a taxi. The fun thing is that finding the tram that you’re supposed to take is sort of a Russian roulette here. See, the night trams don’t have numbers here, even though Google maps say they do. There’s just the name of the depo to which they are going on the front window of the tram. It’s not something pleasant to find out in the middle of the night.

But I managed to survive.
