DPxDC: Haunted Car
Say Constantine has been tracking a car that tends to attract lethal teenage-driving accidents; whether it's haunted or cursed or something else, he's not entirely sure. But he's finally tracked the damn thing down, freshly purchased by some Wayne-bait teenager, and decides to just exorcise it on the down-low. Easy, in-and-out, kid would never know there was a problem.
Except he can't find any curse or ghost, on it or in it.
Though there had definitely been a scary strong ghost in the car *recently*; the ecto-signature was distressingly similar to that of the new King of the Infinite Realms. Had someone contracted the new guy just to off this random kid??
... Ah. Kid's the son of some ghost hunters. That's a nasty sense of irony someone has there; but who would have both the means & the motive??
---
Meanwhile, Jazz is going full Therapist Mode on the extremely traumatized spirit who Danny had found bound to a cursed amulet in his new-to-you car. Danny's making them some ecto-cocoa & smothering them in his fuzziest warm blanket. Yeah, mind control sucks, bud. It's not your fault! And you still drive better than my dad, LOL.

Danny is unlucky just as unlucky as any other Fenton really however he has a particular brand of unlucky he somehow someway keeps coming into contact with cursed haunted and possesed objects
doesn't really affect him due too his particular circumstances of being half dead so they can't kill him so he mostly just keeps them around for company and helps them move on or fulfil their obsession
Danny's had loads of different objects over the years hes had 45 murderous dolls 12 cused tapes 7 and even a haunted toster that predicted how you'd die the make it's predictions come true
But by far the newest addition to his collection is the wierdest itself a camera who always has a sad young boy in the background
Recently the camera boy is leaving messages in the pictures "help them" "help bruce" "save them" "save Gotham" ... maybe its time danny goes on a vacation to Gotham see what all the fus is about

I desperately need to know the circumstances that lead to that weird period in like 70s-80s where they just made a horror movie about any and everything

My car was possessed by Satan himself and I teamed up with a group of students and a demon hunting ghost to take him down. There were weird things happening around my house. The thing that clued me on to the dream thing was that YouTube was in Spanish.
Quotes:
“Trust me , the one thing I desire more than the sweet release of death is that damn car dead”- Me.
“Oh I can do more than become the car, I am- “- the ghost, before I woke up.

The way Billy acts in the Holloway house mirrors how he acted when he was around Karen in that same season.
We don't ever see teen Billy's real smile, except for when he's on the court.
Tumblr media
This smile is relaxed and carefree.
For example, his smiles here are all fake. Forced. There's an overly polite expression he wears, and it's shown in how he talks, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In both cases:
his facial expressions are controlled, except they're caused by different things.
he's been put in a position where he has his autonomy stripped from him.
his eyes look like they're screaming for help.
His job and car are two things that grant him what he cannot get at his house (which would be some freedom and control of his environment/himself). Karen takes that away from him, and so does the Mind Flayer. She shows up at his work with her friends and preys on him. He drives to meet her and gets caught in another predator's web.
And after, when he's driving his car, he's no longer behind the wheel. It's his car, and he has to sit there while he's being taken control of.

Eddie post a Tiktok where he’s doing a little Q&A and answering questions. Steve is also in the room, making a lesson plan. One of the questions that someone asks is if the reason Steve doesn’t drive anymore is because he ran someone over with a car. Eddie reads the question to Steve and Steve responds with, “I didn’t run him over. I hit his car with a car and he was racist anyways, so???”

the Indy 500 is this weekend and I can't help but think about how even if Eddie Munson was never a sports guy, there's a more than decent chance that he was destined to become something of a car guy.
grand theft auto lessons with dad on the weekends turns into genuine curiosity for learning how things work turns into helping Wayne out with the truck when it needs fixing turns into Wayne introducing him to the world of racing and the type of work that goes into building these machines for speed and speed alone and before you know it, the Munson's are driving to Speedway, IN every May to sit in the stands with sack lunches to watch Qualifications.
Eddie's the kind of kids who loves facts, loves to understand things, right? and Wayne prides himself on being a good listener, if he's not always as good with the words as the kid in his care.
They make a good duo, really, Eddie rambling with his mouth full as he tells his uncle about this car and that new racer and why that particular pit stop was just a hair too slow, practically standing for the whole thing with how many times he jumps up to his feet and Wayne listening rapt and taking it in and quietly delighting in the fact that he gets to have this at all.
It takes them a few years of this tradition, this truly sacred day that the both of them look forward to all year even if they don't say so out loud, for them to actually get their hands on tickets to the Big Race, but when they finally do, it's everything.
Eddie has just failed senior year for the second time and although the Indiana Blackout on broadcasting the race is always a bummer, it feels particularly cruel this time around that he'll have to wait to find out the results until it's over.
So, Wayne makes a miracle happen.
Talks to a guy from the plant who knows a guy who has a cousin and it's-- it's just worth everything the way Eddie lights up.
It's like his kid has been a shell of himself for weeks and suddenly he's found his way home again, ranting and raving the whole drive down, the whole way pushing through crowds at the track, the entire length of the race right up until the guy in Victory Lane is pouring milk over his head.
One shining day in May, Eddie gets to have this win, gets to have this thing that no one from that town, no one from that damn school who refuses to give him a break, can take away.
They're both sweaty from the day sitting out in 90 degree heat by the time it's over, but when Eddie drags Wayne into a tight embrace it hardly seems to matter.
A quiet thanks, Wayne has them both on the brink of tears, surrounded by drunken race-goers in that endless fucking parking lot, but it's the next part that will circle Wayne's head for the rest of his life.
It's the clap on the shoulder, the bolstered joy, the-- "Hey, next year? After I graduate? I'll take you, how about that, old man?" -- with a broad and beaming grin under the sunburnt brim of Eddie's nose that does it.
One shining day in May.
They don't get a next year, don't get any more sacred days with sack lunches in the sun.
Wayne's just glad he made a miracle happen before the clock ticked over to 1986.
