It’s the Haunted Mansion’s anniversary today!!! The movie has me going back to my old Haunted Mansion brainrot😭😭. I wanted to explore making my own interpretation of the Hatbox Ghost. The Beating Heart Bride X The Hatbox Ghost (Heartbox) - Disney’s Haunted Mansion

These two don't have one canon personality (the HM franchise, the lore and its characters have the particularily to change in every adaptation) and in her case not one design (though I love her faceless bright eyed shadowy look, creepier and less human) and Disney tries to make us believe she never existed or is the Black Widow Bride, all I know is that back then the Beating Heart Bride aka Emily and the Hatbox Ghost were canonically groom and bride haunting the attic together and their gigs worked together. The potential of a romance between such creepy odd looking ghosts with the taller younger woman and the smaller older man always fascinated me and sounds much more interesting than the other adaptations that depict her with Mr Prettyface Ghost (Master Gracey)

It's kinda separate from the main show as it's about Scratch calling a bunch of the characters from the Haunted Mansion (based off the ride at Disneyland).

I do very much love specials like these that incorporate and crossover their different works, especially in this case since the Haunted Mansion is perfectly fitting for the subject that is The Ghost and Molly McGee.

oh i almost forgot to share these! made some hatbox ghost themed fakemon a little while back! i'm thinking of doing an entire disneyland-themed fan region, but have these little guys for now :]

in order, their names are Hatbitty, Hatboo, Hauntbox and Alisterror! (the second set of pics is their shiny versions, plus an approximate height chart at the end there)

Hatbitty - The Top-Hat Pokémon (ghost)

"It is unknown what the entirety of this Pokémon’s body looks like. It spends most of its time beneath the brim of its hat-shell, which is constantly filled with shadows."

Small enough to be worn like a normal hat by its trainer

Hatboo - The Hatbox Pokémon (ghost/dark)

"Though not as skittish as its evolutionary predecessor, Hatboos are still reclusive creatures. It will often hide from humans for long periods of time, usually in places like the attics of old houses."
