What Stork Brings (5/?)
So I finally updated after threatening to do it since December! Unfortunately, this update comes with some sad news: while My and Pi were based on real cats, the introduction of them was written to mourn Pi's passing. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that My has passed today, so this chapter is dedicated to @greenskyoverme and My's memory. But I do hope you enjoy some more domestic fluff between Spock and Jim.
What Stork Brings - After Spock and Kirk begin a relationship that gets to the cohabitation stage, they decide to adopt, which is an adventure all on its own. But with the help of their very own Stork, they find the perfect children for their family.
Part 1 | Part 5
As soon as Stork had left, they had contacted the crew and told them the news. Everyone seemed excited as well as happy for the fortunate turn of events, and that pleased Spock. He had not realized how much he wanted his friends to approve of his choice, and while he knew they would accept any child he and Jim chose to adopt, the fact there were twins and they were older had been something he thought maybe Chekov or even Sulu would balk at. But they all seemed to think if it worked out, T’Pol and Sorick would be a good match with them.
The other had come over for dinner and conversation, and they had talked late into the night, to the point Jim was yawning as he was trying to carry on a conversation. Eventually, the others had taken that as their cue to leave, and Spock and Jim got ready for bed, the cats running underneath their feet. My seemed to particularly want attention, and while Jim got settled into bed Spock fed her some treats out of her hand, a special treat for her. She stood on her hind legs and ate the treats with just her mouth; she never put her paws on Spock’s hand or arm, but she seemed to prefer getting her treats this way.
“You know, we’re going to have to childproof the apartment,” Jim said as Spock finished feeding My her treats and got settled into bed next to him. “Did your parents childproof the place when you were a toddler?”
“I don’t remember,” Spock said, frowning. I would ask, but my father is busy and…”
“And your mom is gone,” Jim said quietly. He reached over for Spock’s clean hand and brushed his fingers against his palm. “I like to think she’s here with us. She led Stork to us, and Stork knew about the twins.”
“Illogical.”
“You can just let me feel this way,” Jim said with a slight pout. Spock softened Indeed, the human side of him liked to think his mother would be pleased with the serendipity of it all: a Vulcan named Stork at an adoption agency, half-human/half-Vulcan twins, a happy son. She had loved Uhura and he sometimes wished she’d grown to love Jim as much as he did.
“I suppose.” Spock clasped their hands together, threading his fingers in between Jim. “Toddlers are an ingenious lot if Sulu’s stories of Demora are any indication.”
“Well, we already My and Pi proofed the apartment. I swear, I’ve never seen a cat jump as high as My does before. It shouldn’t be that much harder to toddler-proof it. We can ask Sulu for help and do it before the zoo visit.”
“We don’t need to rush, but I suppose asking for advice would not be remiss.”
“I just want to show we’re ready and that we really want them. I just hope they like us. They don’t have the quirks that most Vulcans have, but…”
“But what, Jim?”
Jim moved his thumb and parted their hands slightly, rubbing his thumb on Spock’s palm. “Will they be okay with a human father? I mean, you’re going to outlive me, even if I get into my 100s. They’re going to outlive me.”
“If we adopt them I am sure they will love you as much as I do, t'hy'la.” Spock shut his eyes, letting the slow, steady movements of Jim’s thumb calm him in the way all Jim’s little touches did. “We will miss you when you pass, but there will be fond memories That will be enough.”
“If you’re sure.”
“I am.” Spock leaned over and pressed a kiss to Jim’s temple. Jim grinned, shutting his eyes and yawning at the same time. “Go to sleep, Jim. Tomorrow we can work on making this place appropriate for a pair of toddlers.”
“Alright,” Jim said, not opening his eyes as he settled more against Spock. “Night.”
“Good night,” Spock said, softly, letting go of Jim’s hand as the thumb movements stopped completely and reaching over to turn off the light. He settled in next to the man he loved and shut his eyes. Yes, this was a good move, but if Jim had doubts about their differing life spans, he needed to rectify those fears as best he could. And he would, again and again, for as long as Jim drew breath. He would assure Jim that he was the love of his life and every moment was special and that when he passed there would be no one else. He would live with his lifetime of memories and be content.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I appreciate that you’re willing to call out potential ableist stereotypes in relation to pokemon. I personally believe N was intentionally autistic-coded, and seeing headcanons about him secretly being a zoroark or whatever always bothered me. I’m glad that pokemon fans have generally moved on from that type of thing, and it’s thanks to people like you that we have.
Hi, anon! Thank you, I'm glad to know people are appreciating it! I do a lot of advocacy for neurodiversity in real life (I'm autistic with OCD, so those are my specialties, but in the case of other things I don't have personal experience with I can uplift other voices), so I'm happy people are taking it seriously!
N is absolutely a character that can be read as autistic-coded - I wrote a big post on my more serious autism advocacy blog on the subject over a year ago. I think a lot of people don't realize the ableist undertones the Zoroark theory actually has, but it feeds into the narrative that neurodiverse people are somehow "non-human." A theory regarding changeling myths is that this explained neurodiverse, particularly autistic, children, especially since some autistic traits don't show up until the baby is older. Again, these myths cast the neurodiverse child as non-human, and the parents reject it as "not their child," much like "Autism Parents" do when they mourn the "normal" child they never had. (Spoiler alert: those parents are being extremely ableist, and a lot of them will get really mad when an autistic adult points this out to them, so be careful!)
Before we had canonical representation, autistic people in particular often had to find ourselves in non-human places, with characters being similar to us often being robots and aliens (a plight we shared with asexual and aromantic people). A famous early example a lot of autistic people cite is Spock from Star Trek, who was half-human and half-Vulcan and made many autistic people feel seen for the first time. Now we're getting characters who canonically are autistic, or ADHD, or have OCD, or have Tourette's, or...I could go on forever here. But because of this, we also have the responsibility to portray neurodiversity with the nuance it deserves, and that means pointing out ableism, both of the intentional and unintentional varieties.
I play Pokemon Masters EX, and in N's event, he has a conversation with Alder. One of his lines struck me especially:
Tumblr media
Ghetsis demeaned N by using this phrase, essentially dehumanizing him. In reality, N has animal empathy and due to his early upbringing can understand Pokemon speech. If anything, N's love and compassion for Pokemon make him immensely human; he cares deeply and wants to improve the world and protect his friends. But he had to grow up in an abusive situation where he was repeatedly dehumanized by his adoptive father. Making N a Zoroark actually does a massive disservice to his character and plays into ableist stereotypes of autistic-coded characters being "non-human" somehow.
Anyway, seeing the Zoroark stuff being brought back with Emmet, one of the most blatantly autistic characters I've ever seen in my 33 years on this planet, feels like a massive slap in the face. My roommate, who is also neurodivergent, wrote a comprehensive post that I reviewed before publication regarding the way some Submas portrayals and content can dip quite easily into ableism, and I recommend it.
If anyone is looking to get into disability and neurodiversity advocacy, I'm happy to help you get started! Thanks again, anon, and I hope you have a lovely day!

would love to hear more about your ocs if you’d like to share!
I’d love to!!! gonna put it under a read more so it doesn’t clog up anything
My ocs are (mostly) from this little farming moon colony in Cardassian space that was basically abandoned to be self-sufficient after the dominion war.
so essentially you remember the Maquis storyline where it said that all of them are in prison or dead or Voyager? I’m ignoring that a little but also using that. basically in the blind terror of getting away from the dominion a marquis cell (so about a dozen/two dozen people roughly) crashed onto this moon
There are basically two sets of ocs - the merge generation, where one of the farming districts, the Taar district, starts incorporating the maquis into their community due to need and resignation, and then there’s the colony collapse generation, which is the kids from the merge generation all grown up and contact a relief mission to help them before they lose their home
As for actual ocs, ive fleshed out the kids more because that’s where i started. Carver Raju Taar and Lelli Kozett are my favourites/most formed. Carver and Lelli are also the first Maquis-Cardassian merge children to be born, so they’ve been pretty knee-deep in all the politics over the roughly 25-30 years the colony has been on its own.
Taar’s mother Priya was an ex-Starfleet human Maquis that was pregnant when they crashed and presumed dead for a while after she disappeared. She was rescued and helped by Gena Taar and eventually they formed a bond. Carver was adopted by Gena after Priya died when he was still a baby, with Priya’s consent. Gena was pretty important politically for the colony and her adoption of Carver really fucked things up lol but no one could really tell her no and by the time people found out Lelli’s parents had gotten together so it was just dealt with in stride. Carver actually ends up being the person slated to take over for the district in the end, despite having older cousins, so he gets to be stressed about responsibility and a family legacy he has been routinely estranged from that he still longs to maintain. poor guy lol
Lelli’s half betazoid, half cardassian. Jaska Kozett and Eirris Zei were assigned to work together once the cell was discovered and subsequently fell in love. The maquis kinda saw it coming (Eirris wasn’t subtle) and so this was accepted with resignation. Jaska is important to the district, not entirely sure how yet, so she was pretty brazen once their relationship was public. Lelli is kind of a rainbow baby, her siblings didn’t survive, and she spent much of her childhood being smothered by her parents whenever she wasn’t with the district doctor. As a teenager her psionic abilities developed abnormally; she projects her own emotions constantly but has no read on others. Her dad managed to convince Vossa, a Vulcan (and Maquis), to teach her how to control her emotions when controlling the projection appeared to fail. As an adult Lelli has taken over most of the district doctor duties in secret with her mentor’s secret failing health. She’s also stressed lol and still completely unqualified to do the medical stuff she’s doing. She wants to leave the colony but responsibility keeps her there.
My other guys aren’t as developed/concrete yet but im concentrating on the district and cell rn haha. timeline wise i think that in the end the colony just cannot sustain itself and the kids who have defined themselves through their roles to the community are forced to reckon with what to do when that community may no longer exist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it’s a work in progress!!

Thoughts on Spock and T'Pring's new relationship in SNW
{Episode 1x01}
I know its been a few weeks but this has been stuck in my mind this whole time. Soon after the first episode aired I started hearing complaints about how they portrayed Spock and T'Pring in it. As well as concerns about what this means for general Vulcan culture. As someone who watched it and immediately started to work the new information into my broader understanding of Star Trek Lore I thought I'd share with you guys my thoughts on it.
Some of it is an extension on what's already been established in canon and some of it is me attempting to explain things that on first glance seems like it goes against it. And yes, all of these are actual complaints I've seen about the episode.
Oh yes, and if it wasn't obvious: minor spoilers for the episode.
Whats with the Query/Response thing? Its ridiculous.
It's apparently a formal version of small talk. Up to this point, we haven't seen any two Vulcans having a conversation without a distinct purpose. Whereas Spock and T'Pring here are in a public location on their date. Both also belong to families with relatively high status. (Which could imply a sort of high society thing) They seem to have been following some standard courting path this past year. And are also following some standard decorum for conversations in public.
Why is Spock smiling? Why is T'Pring smiling?
I've seen other people try to explain how Spock is freer with his emotions here than in TOS so I won't expand on that. Rather, I think there is a simpler explanation: it's puppy love. What we're seeing is the vulcan version of puppy love. I personally do not hate that the show writers are canonizing the idea that Vulcan relationships can be just as variably romantic as human ones. (They already kinda did if you pay attention to Tuvoks feelings about his wife) Presumably, if they actually had gone through with their marriage they would have eventually adopted the more disciplined state that we're used to.
Werent they already arranged to be married? Why are they proposing now?
Okay, first thing to remember is Spock and T'Pring werent married yet even by Amok Time. The ceremony where Spock went through pon farr was meant to double as a wedding. Don't misunderstand, Vulcan couples don't HAVE to wait till the fever to get married. They can have their wedding whenever they want. Amok Time just showed what happens when they wait too long. Anyway, I believe it's a bit of a misnomer that they are being arranged to be married. I mean, yes, marriage is the eventual goal here. But the ceremony that links their minds does just that. Its supposed to direct their sexual urges to a specific place and keep everything consensual. If they don't have a preset bond, they just pick their own mate. And well, Voyager's episode on the matter shows how well that goes when the partner they chose isn't willing. Thus, it's left up to the couple on whether they want to develop their relationship in a more romantic manner. Or more likely, use the dating period to get to know their future partner and hash out some marriage logistics.
I thought Spock hadnt seen T'Pring since they were bonded as children.
I don't blame you. That's probably what the original writers intended. But they never actually make Spock say outright he hadn't seen her since then.
Why are they kissing like humans? They already have the ozh'esta, they should be doing that.
I've never really liked the whole idea that kissing with your lips is a purely human thing that Vulcans don't do. Especially since A. they can enjoy lip kissing and B. there are many other species in the galaxy that also kiss 'the human way'. Although yeah I'm with you that they should have had them do the vulcan kiss. They definitely missed the mark on that. But I promised I'd explain this stuff so here we go. I have two possible reasons for why they might have done it this way. One is that T'Pring is ceding to Spock's human side (not reluctantly you might note). The other is that lip kissing has a different meaning to Vulcans than the finger touches. We only see it in two contexts both at the other ends of the spectrum. One as a chaste expression of love, the other as an intense expression of lust (or so we assume based on the reactions of those involved). Lip kissing could be an emotional reaction that fits under neither of those categories, or is simply used in a different context than any finger kisses we've seen so far.
Oh, so in Vulcan society, the female is the one who proposes?
Possibly? I dislike the lore restrictions that this take creates, matriarchal society or not. I have a better idea if you wish to hear it. The responsibility of proposing is determined by some other factor in the engagement which would be known to both parties early on. For example, if T'Prings family was the one to approach Spock's with the intention to bond their children. This would fulfill the requirement for formal rule and explain why Spock expected T'Pring to ask the final question. Consider the other two marriage proposals by Vulcans. Koss who approached T'Pol first. And Vorik who also approached B'lanna first.
They can have sex outside of pon farr?
Yes, the writers have confirmed this a long time ago. That's what all the fanfiction from the last 55 years or so has been based around.
Their sex scene came from something out of romcom Hollywood. Shouldnt it be more alien?
Well, to be fair, they didn't get far enough into their intimacy for us to see whether it's truly different from humans. Secondly, I am fascinated to hear what you would suggest as an alternative. Keep in mind that Sarek and Amanda were sexually compatible as well as Trip and T'Pol. So you cant suggest anything not involving either sexual organ. Because I'm pretty sure anything sufficiently alien would bump its rating way too high for mainstream television. And just saying kink is alien sex would be an insult to all of BDSM as well as just as creatively boring as anything else canon trek has done with alien sexuality.

Fic Writer Questions
Thanks for the tag @anything-thats-rock-and-roll :D
1. How many fics do you have on AO3? 26
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 25, 570
3. What fandoms do you write for? Except for a few one-offs and my 3 Anne With An E fics, I write Lockwood & Co. 💚⚔
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
After Chameleon, an unbetad Miraculous Ladybug salt fic written before the actual episode had come out. It accidentally blew up asldkfjhjkl
On My Mind, a Detroit: Become Human rk1k ficlet where Connor can read minds.
All the Words I Don't Have, pure grade A Locklyle fluff
are we out of touch, are we out of time? AWAE Season 3 speculative fic that is actually an expanded version of a tumblr post I wrote after the penultimate episode of the series premiered.
wavering, my cot3 pining + character study fic. I'm really proud of it and I promise chapter 3 is coming eventually lmao
5. Do you respond to comments? I don't 😭 I want to but I never know what to say and before I know it, the comment is 2 years old oops. I reread comments all the time ❤
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? That's tough to say for sure but I think every lessons forms a new scar ending with an off-screen character death is probably the most angst I've ended with so far.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? That would have to be All the Words I Don't Have again. Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. And Lockwood writes some really bad poetry.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not so far.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do sometimes, and it's not published yet.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Another Change of Plans is the most tumblr WIP I have lol. It dares to start asking the question, "What if the Old Guard adopted Adam Young, the antichrist from Good Omens?"
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Sort of? There was one collab fic I wrote a scene for but it never got finished. Someday I might post my part, because ngl I'm pretty proud of the Skull/Lucy banter in it.
13. What’s your all time favorite ship? How could I ever choose??? By bookmark stats, it would be Marinette and Adrien from Miraculous Ladybug. But cot3 (Lockwood & Co) and Superbat (DC) are up there too.
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? A better question is what isn't a WIP I'll never finish??? I have dozens 😭 Though one that stands out is an old Frozen fic I outlined in I think 2018(?). The premise is a canon divergence where Anna's death is faked when they're children and she's raised in the village instead of in the castle. There are two full acts that are just set up for a The Prince And Me/Princess Diaries-esque rom-com between suddenly-a-princess Anna and just-a-normal-guy Kristoff.
The outline on its own is about 8k words, and frankly I've considered editing and posting the outline itself before because it's detailed enough. This fic is actually a drabble I wrote to take place within my AU, but it reads canon compliant enough of its own so I posted it.
15. What are your writing strengths? Ideas. I am always getting new plot bunnies, always getting excited about the next great idea, always thinking about new aspects of these worlds and characters I want to explore.
16. What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue and volume. That's why I write so many descriptive, very short fics XD
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'd only do it in a language I've studied for a couple years, and even then I would want a native speaker to read over it for me. But it hasn't come up yet?
I do really like Superbat or Star Trek fics where the author sparingly includes Kryptonian / Klingon / Vulcan with a translation at the end.
18. First fandom you wrote for? My Little Pony, or maybe Percy Jackson?? I'm too scared to check my old accounts to see which came first, if I ever even posted the fics I remember writing then at all.
19. Favorite fic you’ve written? building glass castles for sure!!! I love the atmosphere in it, and the monologue from Skull. That monologue came to me in the middle of the night once, so I had to type it up immediately and build the fic around it later.
No pressure tags @sabetha @synestheticwanderings @abumperprize @lenacarstairspotterstewart @woahpip @flythesail @shizuoi

Dumb Star Trek show concept: Worf in reverse but on steroids. IE: A bunch of Klingons end up with babies from federation species. (Xindi, human, Vulcan, etc) the show is about these like ten adopted children growing up together on Kronos and dealing with honor and whatever BS.
Klingon father: "What troubles you, Sijeel?"
Romulan daughter: "... Dok said Romulans have no honor."
KF: "... I will have words with his mothers. In the meantime, remember that Dok is a Ferengi. He has less honor than that."
Immediately smash cut to an argument between this Klingon man's man and a moments ago happily sparring lesbian couple about what they're teaching their child.
----
Xindi child: “YOU NEVER UNDERSTOOD ME, DAD!”
Klingon father: “Son, I have tried every conceivable way to relate to you, I have given you a hundred things from Xindi culture... But the fact is that you’re a lizard and it’s difficult for a mammalian species to--”
XC: *Runs off to his room in a huff*
KF, swallowing angry-sad rage bellows as he looks at his wife: “What would you suggest?”
Klingon wife: “That he needs space to think.”
-----
And then some of them actually have regular Klingon Children which they had after or before adopting the lost kids which often plays out something like this:
Bully: "Your brother is a lazy, honorless coward!"
Brother: "He is every bit the Klingon you are not!" And then his brother, an arboreal Xindi, is just off some place painting a war mural.

Sorry Is Not Enough by foreverandeveralone - 15k w., 7 Ch., Incomplete, Rated M, AOS.
Spock was put on light duty following an injury. Jim, missing his boyfriend, came to one of his labs and seduced him, which, of course, ended in hot sex.

And Spock, distracted by Jim, forgot to close the lid to his completed experiment.
Build Me Up Buttercup by Spiderlass - 176k w., 13 Ch., Rated E, AOS.
Jim had always sort of known that karma would catch up with him one day. After all the shit he’d pulled, he’d have been more surprised if someone up there didn’t eventually go “welp, that’s long enough” and end his streak of good luck.
He’d expected to make it a little longer than twenty, though.
He also hadn’t expected karma to catch up with him in the form of a three-week-old baby girl with pointy ears.
A Little Lady Called T'Val by iknewaman - 108k w., 31 Ch., Rated E, TOS and/or AOS.
Jim doesn’t usually start fights with strange Vulcans at the tram stop, but sometimes you just gotta.
like blood, the stars by startrex - 25k w., 1 Ch., Rated G, AOS.
'You feel nothing! It must not even compute for you! You never loved her!'
He regrets the words the moment they come out of his mouth. But that other, older Spock said that he needed to get command of the ship, and to do so, must get his younger counterpart to acknowledge his emotions. Spock is not the first Vulcan Jim has had dealings with, and he can think of few things that would get T’pri as riled up as quickly as insinuating that she doesn’t love him.
He gambles that Spock is the same about his mother, and it pays off.
(Or, the one where Jim has a Vulcan daughter, and it leads to all sorts of emotions.)
And Betazoid Makes Three by tronjolras - 38k w., 9 Ch., Rated T, TOS. Part 1/3 of the series The Leona K. Yarro Adventures.
While investigating a distress call from an abandoned research satellite, Kirk recovers an unconscious child and unknowingly forges a telepathic connection with her.

Spock being kind of betrayed by his love interest but after a bit of angst, everything falls into place and fluff is baaaack :>
Tumblr media
Spock x Fem!Reader
WARNINGS: Language, sexual situations, daddy kink if you squint
Spock is a bit of a stubborn asshole in this one. He doesn’t like being lied to and will not stop at getting the truth, especially when he knows it’s about him. Spock may be a little too personal in front of Bones, but it’s an emotional situation.
The buzz from your monitor diffused through the air, ringing in Spock’s ears. As low as it was it still brought him to groggily open his eyes. The whole room was wrapped in a soft blue glow. He sat up, hand immediately feeling the empty spot next to him.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not exactly sure how long,” you whispered, hunched over the screen.
“T’hy’la,” he said into the glow, tone sharper than he intended.
You hurriedly flipped off the monitor.
“Spock,” you said, “I’m sorry I woke you.” You tip-toed carefully across the room and crawled back under the thermal blankets. Your boyfriend have better been thankful that you were extremely cold natured otherwise the mere temperature of his cabin would drive you out of the room.
“What were you-”
“I was finishing up some work for the lab. I dreamed of it and woke and immediately I had to do it before it slipped my mind.”
He could sense your deceit in the way your voice wavered, but it also did that when you were grieving. He moved to find your hand in the dark, but failed as you began to massage his scalp.
Were you avoiding his touch? he wondered.
“Sleep, Sa-mekh,” you gently teased him with the only word that could make his scowl at you, other than ‘papa’ itself. He did like it in bed, however, as much as he denied it.
You paused, thinking of the word critically, a surge of panic leaving your hands. He could feel it, “Tell me what ails you. Who were you talking to a moment ago?”
“Myself,” you quickly yanked your hands away. “I really am sorry for waking you.”
He didn’t bother turning to face you or to further question you. It would come out eventually at the test of his impatience or yours. Something was upsetting you-he felt the raw emotion even through the follicles of his scalp. He would take more time to ponder-more time to investigate.
“I shall return to  sleep - as should you. You should participate in your work on the alpha shift singularly as your sleep cycles will continue to be disrupted therefore lowering you work efficiency-”
“And yours?” you finished for him, half joking. “Whatever you say, Commander.”
x
“I wish everyone would stop treating us like we’re married, honestly,” you said, crossing your arms in front of Doctor McCoy.
“All I know is that I’ve got an irritated Vulcan asking me to scan you. He thinks you're hiding something from me and he’s doing whatever he can to figure it out before actually asking you. Something about not letting him touch you. I tried to tell him it was normal once a month-”
You gave him a playful swat.
“Forgive me, I jest.”
“How ridiculous,” you replied and then sighed.
“That’s a man’s pride for you. It escapes no species,” Nurse Chapel said handing you back the report.
“And as you are hiding something, I’m guessing, I suggest you go on out with it. He’ll tear the ship apart finding an answer.”
“And how I think he used to indulge in smothering me in rapid fire questions. That was before our first meld,” you said, fingering the edge of the padd not having fully looked at it yet.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t tried that yet,” McCoy said, “He’s already hunted me down once. I’m not allowed to say anything, but as a favor to me-”
“Bones-”
“Keep him out of my hair and tell him whatever it is you’re lying about-”
You turned the padd to face him and his eyes enlarged, first with shock and then with mirth. He let out a hearty laugh.
“Good luck with that one. I’d say he’s gonna turn green, but that’s normal for him.”
“Have you  talked to your mother yet, honey?” Nurse Chapel asked.
x
Why would you have spoken with your mother so late an hour? Was it purposeful because he had been sleeping? Was it an emergency? Surely you would have told Spock.
He had already extracted the call log from his comm, even though the data had been private and locked under your information. You would fuss at him later he already knew, but this little inkling in the back of his mind reminded him. That raw feeling he felt through your hands. It terrified you. You were scared of something.
You were lying to him. You had lied to him. You had not been speaking to yourself. You had been speaking to your mother. He supposed he could contact your mother, but you two had never formally been introduced and some parties might find that offensive.
You were eating less and less and sleeping with him less and less. You weren’t being as intimate as you usually were either and that was most alarming. Not because it was a requirement to Spock, but because it was a deviation of your behavior. Spock didn’t usually adopt Terran colloquialisms, but once after sucking him off in the lab in the middle of a gamma shift he called you a ‘dirty bird’. He always made you blush when using Terran phrases and slang.
Was it something he did? It seemed he was always doing something, but Spock could honestly not place something accidentally offensive or insulting he might have said. You were pretty good at pointing out when he was too candid or too critical. He was good at pointing out when you were too emotional and too...well too human.
Yet he relished in every bit of that-and so did you, or so he thought you had.
So what was it?
Spock didn’t chew on his nails, but found himself letting the edge of his thumb rest in his teeth.
A familiar warm hand clapped him on the shoulder.
“Look alive, Spock,” the captain playfully chided.
“I assure you captain I am in no way deceased.”
x
You were pregnant. It was that simple. Yet, it didn’t feel simple at all. You wouldn’t hardly let Spock even touch you for fear of finding out. You were terrified of his response.
You were puking in the bathroom and had called your mother immediately. It was the second week in a row and Christine’s labs proved it.
You had a bun in your oven. You could see Spock giving you the quizzical brow at the use of the expression. You could see yourself fussing a little, telling him you knew that he knew exactly what that phrase meant and to stop acting like he didn’t.
It was true what you had said to Bones.
You two weren’t married. It was perfectly normal to have a child out of wedlock- that was, on Earth. You hadn’t even met his parents. What would they say? It would only be a fourth Vulcan. He didn’t speak fondly of his father and whenever prompted you could practically read how sour their relationship was. His father had to be fond of humans to some extent-his wife was human after all.
Would other Vulcans shame Spock? Would they shame your baby?
You heard a buzz from the comm. You got up out of bed and walked over.
“McCoy to Yeoman L/N.”
“Yes, doctor?”
“I’ve got a green-blooded devil down here demanding your presence.”
You groaned into your fist.
“You can’t make me.”
“Please.”
It was the first time you ever heard Spock say that. The tone was nearly pitiful as it was on edge.
x
“You can’t make anyone get a scan, Spock. She doesn’t even work in your division,” Bones said once you arrived.
“She has not been eating, sleeping, nor participating in the normal intimate recreations. Her behavior is off and her pallor has changed considerably,” Spock argued.
“That’s not of anyone’s business, Spock,” you said, appalled. He was being...so unlike himself. It was even weirder that it was in front of Bones. Spock would rather eat his hat than be any kind of vulnerable in front of...well anyone.
“He’s...he’s just worried about you,” Nurse Chapel offered politely from afar.
You groaned, “I wish everyone would just stay out of it. I’m not ready for this.”
“Well you should’ve thought about that before you...uh” Bones started but immediately stopped when you shot him daggers, “Spock, why don’t you just ask her?’
“She has deceived me once before. I do not trust her again to be candid. She is either emotionally upset with a matter and does not want to tell me because it concerns me or she is ill and is emotional about such and does not want to tell me. Either way I am...most concerned.”
It seemed Spock would be eating his own hat later. You could feel the heat rise in your cheeks. Was he really this worried?
“Spock...”
He turned to you, “I apologize for involving the doctor but I do not like it when you lie. Especially when I can be of assistance.”
You could feel water brimming at your lashes. “You’re so smart, Spock. Just so damn smart I hate it.”
You sat on the edge of one of the stretchers, tears dribbling down your face.
“Now, look what you’ve done, you ass!” Bones said angrily, “Out of my bay this instant.”
Spock ignored him and knelt down in front of you.
“I can help. And if I can’t we will find a way, ashayam.”
You looked up at him. “I am upset with something...and I am sick and it does have to do with you. Both of your guesses were right.”
You held out a hand. He assumed it was to meld, but it wasn’t so as you only placed his hand palm down on your still flat abdomen.
His eyes widened. “Y/N...”
“I know I lied about talking to my mother. I was just afraid you would find out and I wasn’t... I just don’t think we’re ready. I want to be ready, but I don’t know if you’re ready. We’re not married and I don’t want to cause trouble for you on Vulcan.”
He stared at your stomach for a long time, hand unmoving.
“I do not care what others think of me on Vulcan. I do not care what they think of my t’hy’la or my child,” he said with a tone of finality, “I only care what you think. If you are not ready I will not force you to beget my children.”
“Are you ready?” you asked.
“I do not think a parent ever truly is. My mother once spoke those words to me,” he admitted, “But it is not my say in the matter whether you choose to carry out the pregnancy. Do you wish to terminate the pregnancy?”
“No, Spock.”
He rubbed your stomach gingerly, “I am sorry for my behavior, ashayam. It was most ill-mannered of me. The mother of my child deserves better treatment.”
You placed your hand over his while it was still on your stomach, “I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t lie to you.”
“Well, well,” the doctor spoke up from the awkward silence beside his nurse, “I guess we ought to pass around cigars now?”
It seemed you both had forgot that Bones and Christine were still even there, witnessing the sappy moment between you two.
Spock repaired that easily.
“I will not allow my t’hy’la to engage in such a habit or for those surrounding her to do so. Certainly, doctor, you do not permit such unhealthy behaviors to pregnant persons.”
You laughed and Bones rolled his eyes.
Another day on the Enterprise, you thought. Another day.

The Strings That Bind Us ~ The Lord Meeting
Tumblr media
Summary: Mother Miranda called a Surprise Lord Meeting and is insistent that Vulcan attends. What could she want?
Pairing: Donna Beneviento x Vulcan
[2 Months After The Village Trip] [Vulcan's been working for Donna for 3 Months Now]
"Are you certain that you want to leave that male with Donna, Mother Miranda? I could find a better use for him in House Dimitrescu." Alcina said as she took a puff from her long cigarette.
"Must you start with this again, Alcina?" Heisenberg exhaled "Miranda gave the human to Donna because of their obvious history...as much as I wish she didn't; that man has the makings of an Alpha in his blood."
"Any man that would put down your rabid dogs is worthy enough to continue the Dimitrescu Bloodline. I've been seeing him around the village - sometimes with Donna and that...doll of hers. Kinda unfair that my little sister gets to have that interesting specimen to herself." Alcina pouted in her chair as she took another puff of her cancer stick.
Miranda was quiet for the most part while waiting for Donna - the dollmaker was usually the second one here (The first being Moreau). The sound of footsteps made everyone look at the opening to see The Dollmaker make her appearance and she wasn't alone - Vulcan stood there in his House Beneviento Suit with a smile on his face, Donna's arm laced in his like a gentleman leading a lady, and Angie perched on his shoulder as if she was his companion instead of Donna's. The Lords and Village Leader watched as Vulcan led Donna to herself and waited for the dollmaker to seat before he moved to stand behind her to the right of her chair, standing tall, his hands behind his back - Angie still on his shoulder.
"Now that we are all present - we can begin the meeting." Mother Miranda began as she looked at her 'children'.
Broken Truth: #FuckMotherMirandaShe'sABitch.
"What is the reason for this meeting, Mother Miranda? You didn't specify in your call to us." Donna asked as she looked at her adopted mother.
"The reason I didn't specify was that this meeting is about you and...your male." Miranda said - making Donna and Vulcan's eyebrows raise.
"Us?" The both of them said.
"Yes, Child. Tell us - what exactly does this 'Vulcan' do for House Beneviento? Is he truly as well of as servant as you claim?" Miranda said as she looked in Vulcan's direction - who just looked into her eyes without any kind of fear but there was respect present in his eyes; was it because she was Donna's Mother or the Leader of the Village? That was unknown to her.
"Vulcan is an incredible addition to House Beneviento - he cleans very well, the meals he cooks are unlike anything I have ever tasted; but then again, he did travel all over the world and picked up some interesting recipes. He is always there for me rather I need something or if I just need someone to talk to; what's more, he gets along with Angie very well and that makes me very happy." Donna said as she looked at the doll on Vulcan's shoulder, who nodded to her creator.
"She's got a point..." Moreau spoke but was soon cut off.
"Shut up, no one asked you, freak." Karl said.
"That was impolite, Lord Heisenberg." Vulcan's voice spoke up, making everyone look at him.
"What did you say?" Karl asked.
"I said that was impolite - impolite and uncalled for. Lord Moreau has just as much right to speak as you do; besides, he is your brother, you should be kinder to him." Vulcan said as he glared at Vulcan, who glared at him back.
"Just who the hell do you think you are to tell me what to do? You're just a servant - a nobody - and that freak isn't my brother, nor is Lady Super-Sized Bitch or that Ugly Ass Psycho Doll!" That made Vulcan's eyes widen and his fists clench.
"Take that back...right now." The amber-eyed man growled out.
"What?" Karl scoffed.
"I don't care what you say about me, but you will not disrespect my lady or Angie; Lord or not. Take it back, now, Karl Heisenberg." Vulcan growled even more - his fists clenching and eyes seem to be getting darker - they were almost blood red. Miranda's eyes seem to widen as it looked like there was a golden glow coming from under the sleeve of Vulcan's right forearm.
'What is he?' She wondered.
"That's enough, Vulcan." Donna spoke out, making Vulcan look at her.
"But Lady Beneviento, he..." Donna raised her hand to silence him.
"Please, Vulcan. It's quite alright." Donna said again in her soft voice.
"If that is what you wish, Lady Beneviento." Vulcan went back to standby mode.
"It is." Donna confirmed.
"Now that is over... Donna." Miranda spoke.
"Yes, Mother?" Donna asked as she looked in her mother's direction.
"I wish to have a House Dinner - with House Beneviento as the hosting house. I want to see just what it is that your male could do." Miranda said as she looked at Vulcan.
"I'd be honored to show you my skill, Madam Miranda." Vulcan said with a bow of his head.
"Obedient, Strong, Good-Looking, Can Cook, Clean, & Submissive without argument - Such an interesting specimen you have, Donna. Little sister, are you sure you wouldn't mind lending him to me for a year?" Alcina said as she looked Vulcan up and down.
"Alcina, you are not getting Vulcan so find another male to continue House Dimitrescu with." Donna almost snarled at her sister.
"Come now, you can't part with him for one year?" Alcina pouted.
"No. Now stop asking." Donna said. "Is that all, Mother Miranda?" Donna asked as she rose to her feet.
"Yes - the House Dinner will be in one week; I look forward to seeing what it is he can do. Lords dismissed." Miranda said. Donna took Vulcan's arm and he led Donna and Angie out of the room, ignoring the looks of the other Lords and Village Leader.
'Just what are you, Vulcan?' Miranda asked herself.
[Meanwhile - Back At House Beneviento]
"A Lord Dinner? This is going to be troublesome." Donna said as she sat at the table, Angie in her lap to make her feel better.
"What's so wrong with a Lord Dinner?" Vulcan asked as he placed down a cup of tea with some lemon cake squares before Donna.
"Mother Miranda uses Lord Dinners to make sure all is right but I sometimes think she uses it to snoop on our lives. Last time, we had a Lord Dinner at Castle Dimitrescu because of Alcina's Daughters - it was not pleasant." Donna said as she removed her veil and placed it on the table.
Vulcan looked at his lady's face with concern when he saw just how worried she was about this Lord Dinner.
"Then, I'll make this a pleasant Lord Dinner but before I get started, I want to know - do you trust me to go out on my own for a while tomorrow?" Vulcan asked, Donna looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Go out? Just what are you planning?" Donna asked.
"If I want this Lord Dinner to be as grand as I wish it to be - I need to know what is it the other Lords and Madam Miranda prefer. I'm going to go to each of their locations and ask them then go shopping for the right things." Vulcan explained.
"What? No, that's not a good idea, Vulcan. You know Alcina wants you - she'll try to seduce you into coming to Castle Dimitrescu." Donna began.
"I would never turn away from you for her or another, Donna; you know that. I've been here for 3 months, you can trust me." Vulcan said as he kneeled before Donna as she sat in her chair and gathered her hand in his.
"I do trust you, it's the other lords - Karl wants to join him... I don't know about Moreau, he's likely the only Lord I do trust out of all of them." Donna said as she looked down as their touching hands.
"Then I'm asking you to trust me - trust me to come back to you and know that I would never turn away from you, Donna. I've come too far to find you, now that I'm here and I serve you; I'm happy and I would never let you go like I had to when Mother Miranda took you away from me." He brought her hand to his lips. "Please, trust me to come back to you. Trust me to stay faithful to you and only you and Angie." Vulcan's words made her blush and look away before she took an exhale.
"Very well, Vulcan. I will trust you to do what you must to make this Lord Dinner a grand one just...please don't let them take you away from me."
"As long I draw breath, I shall return to you, Donna; believe that." Vulcan looked into her eye and leaned forward before placing a small kiss on her lips.
Donna's widened before she began to settle into the kiss her servant gave her, returning it and closed her eye to enjoy it. Once they broke apart for air, their foreheads touched as they looked into the windows of each other's souls...before their moment was ruined by a giggling doll.
"Does this mean I have a Father now?" Angie asked, making Mistress and Servant blush bright red.
"Angie!" Donna and Vulcan blushingly yelled at the doll; Angie got her giggles that night.

Star Trek AU
I have put entirely too much thought into a Star Trek AU and how Wille would be Vulcan and Simon would be Betazoid and I want to share my thoughts on this. Some of it is based on Alpha canon, some on Beta, and some on fanon.
Wille - Wille is Vulcan because like hello how could he not be? Vulcans are known for putting logic over emotions. They have emotions, but they aren't important in the face of what is logical, what is right. Wille is under constant pressure in canon to do what is right over his own emotions and feelings about things. He's told to apologize for the club incident when he doesn't feel sorry, he's told to go to Hillerska when he doesn't want to, told to be the perfect Crown Prince because he has to be now, and told to deny the video because it will keep the shitstorm away from them even when he doesn't want to abandon Simon. He doesn't want to acknowledge it at all. It makes perfect sense character-wise for Wille to be Vulcan, son of High Council member Kristina, who takes just a little too much after his cousin Spock for anyone to really be comfortable. And yes, he's related to Spock because can you just imagine the family angst you could pull from Kristina cutting her brother Sarek off after he marries Amanda, not because she hates humans but because she just doesn't get it. And she wants to raise her children nice and respectable, unlike her wild child nephew. But Wille has always been just a little bit different, just a little bit too un-Vulcan no matter how hard she tries to press the idea that logic precedes emotion.
Simon - Please this boy was made to be Betazoid. Betazoids are a very emotions based people, due to their telepathy. They value honesty and compassion. Simon is such an empathetic character, he is constantly worrying about the emotions of the people he cares about and trying to do what he can to help them. He spends a lot of time in canon trying to figure out how to prioritize himself and his emotions. And he does, in ep6 when he learns how to stand up and tell Wille that his emotions matter too. He also just wants Wille to be honest about their relationship. And granted, it's a difficult situation and I understand completely why Wille couldn't but Simon was also well within his rights to want that honesty from the person he loves. Betazoid is just perfect for him. I think Simon was an early developer with his telepathic abilities. Not natural-born, but definitely an early developer. He's already so sensitive to other's emotions in YR canon that it would just make sense for him to be an early developer Betazoid. Plus, not to mention, Betazoid society is matriarchal which totally works with the whole 'Micke being out of their lives' thing. Just poof gone, Linda is in charge now. Simon just fits so well as a Betazoid, I literally can't imagine him any other way.
Them together - can you fucking imagine the intricacies of a vulcan/betazoid bond. CAN YOU IMAGINE. I can and god it would work so well with Wille and Simon. Wille is such a touchy-feely person and Simon is so in tune with emotions and if we take it up a notch to a t'hy'la (Vulcan soulmates) bond, then holy fuck. It would be so intense and these two thrive on intensity.
Other notes - They met on Tarsus IV (if you know you know) when they were both 16 and adopted Lenore cause fanon makes her one of the Tarsus 9 a lot anyways and I wanted to give her a better life. Simon is head of security on the Enterprise and Wille is a science division officer having fun with his plants down on the science decks. As for the other YR characters—August is Vulcan (duh), Felice is Orion, Maddie is human, and Sara is human-adopted-by-Betazoids. Questions comments concerns? None? Okay anyways yea that's my Star Trek AU ideas list that Tate @starboywille has oh so helpfully listened to me rant about for the past week. Congrats for making it to the end of this have a star ⭐

Am currently thinking about other half human half alien children and rn I’m thinking of a kid that’s half human and half species-I-made-up, so it’s this kid with hair, but also some scales, claws, sharp teeth, and a sorta dino tail
And I’ve already given the species a lot of thought on how their cultural stuff works and how inter-species relationships work when they’re huge and pointy and stuff (did not give them a name because I’m terrible at naming things) but we’re not gonna get into all that now, I just wanna share this one cute image with y’all so I’m just gonna share the info relating to it
It’s common practice in the species for the parents to wear large poofy skirt-like garments for the kids to hide in and pounce out of to practice defending their territories later on
So rn I’m picturing the Human easily adopting this practice and their small kid keeps jumping out at people from the skirt and yelling “rawr!” before giggling and going back to hiding
And I’m also picturing how that would work with them being around other children and I know Human children would either get very scared or find it hilarious and keeping walking by on purpose to get startled again and again
But I was also thinking about Vulcan children and now I’m just thinking about them using it as a test to see if they can stay emotionless so they all keep daring each other to walk by the Human and seeing how well each of them doesn’t react when the kid pops out
(The kid does not! like this as it means they are failing at being scary so they are putting their all into trying to scare the Vulcan kids)

What Stork Brings (2/? - An “...And Children Make Four” Story)
So I finally updated, though with a sad reason. I wrote this chapter hopefully to cheer up @greenskyoverme, who lost one of her cats to cancer last night. Both of the cats she owned will live on in this series, and I hope it will help.
What Stork Brings - After Spock and Kirk begin a relationship that gets to the cohabitation stage, they decide to adopt, which is an adventure all on its own. But with the help of their very own Stork, they find the perfect children for their family.
CHAPTER 1 | CHAPTER 2 | SERIES PAGE
“My, get down!”
Spock looked up from his latest foray into adoption agencies to see Jim trying to get My, one of the two cats Spock had brought into the apartment with him, to get off the kitchen counters. My licked her fur and stared at Jim, amusing Spock in the process. This was a test of wills, it seemed. Pi, his other cat, had taken to Jim like water to plants, and would often curl up on Jim’s lap while he scratched him behind the ears. My, on the other hand, was his cat. She didn’t like sharing him with Jim, and Spock had serious doubts that would ever change.
“My, come here,” Spock said, and My’s dark ears flicked as she jumped off the counter and sauntered to Spock. He set the datapad on the table as My settled in his lap, purring as Spock began to give her scritches, as Jim called them.
“She hates me,” Jim said.
“She’s...intolerant,” Spock said. “But Pi loves you more than me, apparently. I take no hurt in that. Cats deserve favorites as well.”
“And who is your favorite, Spock?” Jim asked going to the couch to sit down with a bag of potato chips.
“As if you need to ask.” Jim grinned a wide grin at him, then looked down at Spock’s lap and stuck his tongue out at My. “There is no need to be childish, Jim.”
“She started it.”
“She’s just a cat.”
“No, she’s a menace.” Jim opened the bag and had a potato chip. “How’s the searching going?”
“I think I may have hit on an adoption agency we should look into,” Spock said. “They have a Vulcan on staff named Stork, and he works to help many varieties of species to find good matches.” Jim had started giggling when Spock said the agency technician’s name and frowned. “What is so amusing about Stork?”
“Your mom never told you about the old wives' tale that babies were delivered by storks?” he said, his laughter tapering down.
“My mother never told me falsehoods,” he said. “Fantasy stories, yes, but no outright lies.”
“So you believed babies came in cabbages or something?” Jim asked, tilting his head.
“Only when I was too young to understand the human reproductive system,” he said.
“How different is it from the Vulcan reproductive system?” he asked, the amusement having turned into curiosity.
“The method of insemination is similar, but the conception period and gestation periods differ,” Spock said. My jumped off his lap as he stood, following Spock to the sofa only to hiss softly at Jim and turn around when Spock set next to him.
“One day I’ll have to learn more,” Jim said. Then he paused. “Were you conceived the natural way?”
Spock shook his head. “My mother’s egg and father’s sperm were combined in a laboratory, and when the conception was finished the embryo was implanted into my mother’s womb. It was luck that I survived the process long enough for my mother to carry me to term.”
“So chances are it’s not going to be easy to find a half-human/half-Vulcan to adopt,” Jim said, his amusement fading into a thoughtful frown.
“I have not kept my hopes high. Very few Vulcans are here in San Francisco, and most Vulcans on New Vulcan are trying to repopulate my species.” He reached over for Jim’s hand, touching his palm lightly. Jim knew that in Vulcan culture this was a form of intimacy, and he flattened his hand so that Spock’s fingers could slide from the palm to the heel of his hand and then back up to his fingers.
“But there’s always a chance.”
“Yes, there’s a chance,” Spock said. “But I would be happy raising a human child as well. Or any other species deemed a good fit for us.”
Jim curled his fingers towards his palm, catching Spock’s fingers in his so that he was loosely holding Spock’s hand. Spock shifted his hold and held Jim’s hand properly just moments before Jim brought their joined hands up and kissed his knuckles. “Let’s see what Stork brings us, then,” he said, and Spock gave him a faint smile.
He was luckier than most, he knew that, to have the love and devotion of a man such as James Tiberius Kirk. And suddenly he had the urge to show him how loved and cherished he was. He stood, hands still grasped, and tugged Jim’s hand to indicate he wanted Jim to stand. When Jim stood up he then turned in the direction of their bedroom and pulled him along, knowing that it would be some time before the topic of adoption was brought up again.

This is not laid out in the same way an actual family tree is, but I kinda... Needed to adapt it a bit because the way actual family trees deal with spouses is not polyam friendly in the slightest. Also, please excuse the messy lines.
The large lines going above are marriages. The medium lines going down are children of the couple at the top, and, where differentation was needed, the dashed lines show the partnership from above the other partnership.
And I still needed to do something different for the Andorians/Aenar.
The thin lines are adopted children because I used dashed lines for another thing and then got to that and thought ‘Crap.’
There appears to be two trill and two betazoid symbols, and the Denobulan symbol may not be canon in the slightest.
Anyway, my OC in question is T’Pak. Everyone else is either a parent (blood related or not) or a sibling. The Seelox family is... Large to say the least. 11 parents and 15 children. Terim-Rex-Seelox has the most relationships out of the group
They live on an as-yet unnamed civilian starship just travelling around space, which allows Terim to pick up strangers and end
Tyler (human, he/him) was a former member of Starfleet, though he resigned to look after a newly liberated Romulan xB called Norella (she/her), whose birth parents are presumed to still be in the collective. It was his stories from his time in the ‘fleet that inspired T’Pak (Denobulan/Vulcan hybrid, she/they) to sign up for Starfleet. She graduated from the academy in 2409, from that information alone, some of you may be able to guess how their early career went.
Her siblings include Norella, who I’ve already mentioned. Masc (he/him) and Adoyi (she/her), who are Denobulan/Bajoran hybrids, both about their age, Joji (Trill/Bajoran hybrid, he/him), who is the eldest sibling and the son of Vele Naan, Yerig (they/them) and Banil (any pronouns), both Denobulan/Trill hybrids and the children of Izon Naan.
Arin (she/him) is a Denobulan/Bajoran.
Brus (he/they) and Rad (pronouns change) are Denobulan/Cardassian. There is some tension between Cor and Aza, but their children seem to get along OK.
And now we get on to the... Others...
Tylla (they/zh’er), Avrella (she/sh’er) and Tora (she/sh’em) are Denobulan/Andorian/Aenar hybrids. Both Aenar and Andorians have four biological sexes needed for reproduction, although the zhen (Ason, in this case) doesn’t pass on genetic data, zh’ey just carry the baby, so they are 1/3 Denobulan, 1/3 Andorian and 1/3 Aenar, with genetic data from Terim, Shav and Lisamel.
For pregnancies involving someone in place of the zhen, then presumably as they carry the child, the child would, I think, carry some DNA from the pregnant person due to how pregnancies work in that species (and if you say I’m wrong, I’m not the wiki has nothing on this so I can do what I want) which, in this case, leads to two twin Denobulan/Andorian/Aenar/Klingon hybrids. This pregnancy was not planned in the slightest, and involved a lot of drinking beforehand. Six months later, a Klingon showed up with two babies and informed the others that they were now parents to a chan (Sheras, ch’e/them) and thaan (Eklos, th’ey/him), and also that she wasn’t interested in pursuing a further relationship (although it was a great honour to mate with three people at once).
I mainly came up with this because at some point I’d like to draw a young T’Pak hibernating with her siblings and father like how bear cubs will hibernate with their mother. (so basically, 13 kids and their father curled up on a bed), realised I hadn’t thought about their siblings any more than ‘Denobulans have quite large families and it’d be nice if, like, her father mainly slept with different species so they’re all different hybrids.’
Most of the names came from random name generators or me thinking ‘This sounds kinda like this’ except T’Pak. T’Pak is a Vulcan name apparently meaning ‘of the duel’, which I misread as ‘Of the dual’, as in two. Which would have been a fitting name meaning for a hybrid of two species.

Okay so. I haven’t finished my refs for my Star Trek ocs (I prommy I’ll do it soon) but like. I have a great need to talk about them so here we are ♥️ I’ve made a new oc crew cus I didn’t like my old ones </3 their mission is to rebuild after the dominion war, they fly around helping out random stations & colonies that are in need of repairs and supplies, I dont have a name for their ship yet but like. Yeah
My captain is a half Vulcan half human, her name is T’athy and she’s in her 40’s, she tries her best but is Stressed. She’s like. A coffee and wine mom even though she doesn’t drink either of those. She took this mission because after the war was over she didn’t really know what to do with herself, and was uncomfortable just retiring. She has a husband, they space Skype every night ♥️
My first officer is a bajoran lesbian in her 60’s, her name is Matos, she & T’athy fought together and are Besties, she was going to retire to a spiritual life on bajor but T’athy called them for one more mission and she was like sure why not. She’s the ships unofficial counselor, she has Major grandma vibes despite not having any children. I love them very much. She would be a horse girl if they knew what a horse was
My medical officer is a cardassian woman named Miyar, uhh she’s like kinda fucked up, she’s only doing the whole starfleet service thing to not be put in a penal colony. She thinks murder is okay and has 0 bedside manner but she is Trying. She pretends not to care and acts very cold but she cares a ton, once she trusts someone she will die for them.
My science officer is a little Vulcan dude named Solar, he’s fresh out of the academy and wants to Do Everything. He’s a botanist and he loves plants and exploring. He joined up with starfleet cus his family is very traditional and wants him to marry and be a perfect Vulcan, but he wants to do other stuff! I love him very much. He and T’athy have weekly meditation sessions.
My engineer is a human guy named David Lovell, he gets a last name because he’s special ♥️. He’s recently divorced, he’s not technically starfleet, he’s a civilian who teaches engineering, but he saw people in need and stepped up to help. He’s trying to find a new purpose in life, he’s an extremely loving person.
My dominion tech expert is a vorta named Lowver, xey stayed behind after the war because she was done with dying. Xe’re just trying to learn how to be a person now, and she’s unsure of how to start a new life. She has a lot of guilt over how the dominion affected the alpha quadrant and is trying to make up for it by helping rebuild. She’s still a bit brainwashed so xey do make mistakes but I love her
And then there’s Breba ♥️♥️ he’s a little ferengi boy who they picked up and are attempting to find a home for. Dave immediately adopted him so like. The ship is his home now. Breba bites people and is like. A rude little boy but we love him. He wants to be an Engineer and know things but he gets frustrated very easy. He loves his dad.

Random ship meme I stole from here: Syrios edition
( @ihlonhae )
where they first met and how - On La Sirena after Cris accepted Sylar’s reassignment. It was... More interesting than Cris knew for, well, a long time. Cris did not have the full story of how they met until after they were married and honestly he wished he’s had the full picture this entire time. Mainly, what handshakes mean to Vulcans and what Sylar said to him in Vulcan after they shook hands
how long their ‘flirting’ phase was before feelings got involved - Okay so feelings were involved straight away but that “flirting” phase lasted a long time if that “flirting” phase is the same as the “pining” phase because these men are idiots
who fell for who first ( if applicable ) - In love? Probably Sylar, in his way. He was definitely the first to acknowledge the depth of his feelings for the other, even if it was really just to himself. In attraction? They were both attracted to each other as soon as they saw the other, but Cris saw Sylar first because he saw his picture in his file.
where their first date was and what it was like - It hasn’t been really discussed but probably something in the holodeck, if you want something that isn’t either a mission/detour on a mission or them hanging out on La Sirena. When their relationship started is a bit fuzzy, okay, these two idiots defined nothing for as long as they were able to. Well, that’s not entirely true. Sylar considered Cris his t’hy’la right away, so Sylar defined it without really informing Cris and it took Cris some time to catch on.
who asks who out and how ( with a sign? spelled out on a cake? just a simple ‘will you go out with me’? ) - I think that was answered in the above question. They were not that straight-forward. Although, when they do go on dates it would be Cris suggesting it, so there’s that.
if they keep / kept their relationship secret or let everyone know right away - Raffi is the only one Cris would have to tell and she’s always known, really. There was some ambiguity to Picard’s crew at first (except Elnor because he could see them clearly engaging in things only bondmates do/understood what Sylar meant when he called Cris t’hy’la so it was obvious to him) because they didn’t explicitly state it but they never really hid the nature of their relationship
where the proposal happens and how ( kiss cam at a baseball game? on a hillside surrounded by ducks? at a disney park? ) - I’m pretty sure they talked about getting married before Coppelius, without ever really setting something in stone, but I guess I’ll consider the proposal to be very shortly before the wedding actually took place, just after they stopped the synth Armageddon and brought Picard back, when Cris got back to La Sirena he went up to Sylar and was like “I don’t want to spend another moment without you as my husband, please marry me here, Picard can officiate, and we’ll head to Vulcan after this to be bonded properly”
if they adopt any pets together - Do the holos count?
who’s more dominant - Cris
where their first kiss was and what it was like - Their first Vulcan kiss was definitely before their first human kiss, and it was probably very sweet (possibly that “scars” thread, if that counts, although it wasn’t the usual form of Vulcan kissing?) - I don’t know of any first human kiss before Insomnia and Philosophy, but it’s possible they could have kissed the human way before that. But that one they were both very drunk
if they have any matching couples stuff ( mugs? sweaters? pillowcases? ) - That’s soft so I’m going to say yes. Probably given to them by the holos.
how into pda they are - Cris more so than Sylar, although it’s usually for a purpose. Cris will pull Sylar into somewhere more private, usually but not always (sometimes he just doesn’t give a damn about where they are or who would be watching), but when it’s deliberate PDA there’s usually someone/some people Cris specifically wants to see them together
who holds the umbrella when it rains - Sylar? Maybe? Sylar is the one who isn’t so fond of water
where their usual ‘date spot’ is ( if applicable ) - La Sirena, talking about philosophy late at night and making out
who’s more protective - They are both very protective so I’m not going to declare one more protective than the other
how long it is before they sleep together ( can be as in ‘had sex’ or as in ‘shared a bed’ ) - Well, early on, when they were stranded on a planet and huddled together for warmth. Not sharing a bed, they were on the ground, but sleeping together (at least Cris slept, Sylar probably didn’t). Shared a bed would probably be Insomnia and Philosophy. Sex is not actually applicable in the strictest sense
if they argue about anything - Little things, frequently. They have had more serious disagreements but they’re pretty good about it, really
who leaves more marks ( lipstick, hickeys, scratchmarks etc. ) - Cris, and this would be the case even if Sylar doesn’t automatically get marks from overstimulation. Sylar does leave marks too, though
who steals whose clothes and how often - Sylar is generally the one wearing Cris’s clothes. Sylar’s clothes are a bit too small for Cris. It happens more frequently later in their relationship
how they cuddle ( spooning? facing each other? ) - Facing each other
what their favourite nonsexual activity is - Discussing philosophy and culture
how long they stay mad at each other - Not long
what their usual coffee / tea orders are - Sylar has Vulcan spice tea. Cris takes his coffee “blacker than the void that consumes my soul” or whatever dramatic description of black coffee he feels like using
if they ever have any children together - In an alternate timeline. Alonzo and T’Alaro. Otherwise, in the main timeline, they mutually agreed that wouldn’t be the best idea for them.
if they have any special pet names for each other - Sylar calls Cris the Vulcan terms of endearment. Cris calls Sylar many Spanish and Standard terms of endearment as well as the Vulcan ones. One notable one in Spanish is “viejo” (old man)
if they ever split up and / or get back together - I doubt it. They’re pretty much together forever
what their shared living space is like ( messy? clean? what kind of decor? ) - They’re both organized and don’t have a lot of things. Sylar barely has anything. Cris has books and mermaid statues and some belongings but they’re not like disorganized or messy or cluttery.
what their first christmas / hanukkah / etc as a couple was like - The holos trying to get Cris and Sylar to kiss under the mistletoe mostly
what their names are in each other’s phones - They don’t have phones but if they did, Cris in Sylar’s phone would either be “t’hy’la” or “captain” and Sylar’s in Cris’s would likely be “viejo”
if they have any ‘couple traditions’ ( buying a new mug for their collection every year? baking every friday evening? ) - Getting into trouble, mostly
who falls asleep first and who wakes up first - Sylar pretty much doesn’t sleep but I’m going to say Cris falls asleep first, Sylar wakes up first
who’s the big spoon / little spoon - They’re usually facing each other but Cris would be the big spoon and Sylar would be the little spoon if they did that
who hogs the bathroom - Cris
who kills the spiders / takes them outside - Outside is space, so the “takes them outside” is a no. Apparently, according to Sylar, killing them is also a no. Apparently they make a temporary habitat for it until they can leave it on a suitable planet because Sylar believes in the preservation of life and Cris is willing to indulge him in this as long as he doesn’t have to deal with the spider himself. Emil replicates dead flies for the spider. Enoch names it. Enoch gets a little teary when they release it. Cris thinks he lives on a ship full of idiots but they’re his idiots
