Greetings! Can I request the Octavinelle boys finding out that the reader is an ultra-rare leviathan merman? Like, his mer-form dwarfs even Azul's and his tail goes on for miles to the point that it's mind-boggling how all that can go into a regular human form. (Established relationship as well, please)
Male reader, as per the request. Reader is not Yuu. Surprisingly angsty…
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
You were anxious to show him your mer-form, and he wanted to know why. It wasn’t until his overblot where he was able to see it, and it took him by complete surprise. Your tail alone went on for many nautical miles, and you moved at a speed of about 700 knots. He stood no chance against you, and you apologized profusely for the amount of pain you inflicted on your boyfriend when he was in the infirmary.
He understood why you had to stop him, as his life was at risk, but you used your long tail to constrict his movements so that everyone could get a clear shot at him. The cecaelia was a bit bruised because of how tight your tail was wrapped around him. It wasn’t even your full tail, though, which had him concerned about the true amount of strength you had.
Tales (tails… hehe) of the ocean have told of leviathans in the water, but he thought they were legends. Never did he expect that his boyfriend would be one of them. You told him about how you were constantly feared by others because of it, and he instantly felt bad. However, he did study up on leviathans later, wanting to know more about you and your kind.
The books stated that you were the embodiment of chaos in both mythology and theology, and he had to agree. There were multiple times where you would use your strength to pick him up and over your shoulder to make sure that he took a break. Or, you were a bouncer for the Mostro Lounge and you would gladly throw students out of the establishment if they were being too disruptive.
Tumblr media
Jade Leech
His tail doesn’t even reach one nautical mile, so the fact that yours reaches several definitely means a lot. He saw it when he and Floyd were trying to stop you all from reaching the museum. You used your tail to restrain them, looking at your boyfriend with a disappointed look as you let the others steal the picture.
Once you let him go, you swam to meet up with the rest of the squad, and you were going turbo speed in the water. The tweels couldn’t keep up, and Jade found himself actually intrigued. He had heard tales of the leviathan, but he had never seen your mer-form before, so he was definitely very surprised. It’s not everyday that you discover your lover is one of the rarest types of mer-person ever.
Later, he asked you about it, but you were giving him the silent treatment for daring to betray you and your friends. He started to ‘sob’, first faking it but then growing frustrated and real tears were threatening to fall, as he realized how much he had hurt you. It wasn’t until he genuinely apologized that you turned to him and explained that you were a leviathan, and that you forgave him.
When he heard that you forgave him, he was so relieved. He pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his tears as he thanked you, and after a few moments you explained that your entire family was filled with sea serpents. He listened to every word you said, especially when you told him that you and your family were always feared. He wants you to know that he is not afraid of you, and the least he can do is start to listen.
Tumblr media
Floyd Leech
He had always wanted to see your mer-form, as you have seen his multiple different times. It wasn’t until he was stopping Yuu, Ace, Deuce, and Grim from reaching the museum, where he saw your form, and holy shit was he impressed. That was, until you used a very small section of your tail to restrain him and his brother from continuing to prevent the group from getting the picture.
Then you let him go and you moved faster than he could even dream of. He was complaining about how “it wasn’t fair” that you were such a big and fast fish. He called your name, but you ignored him as you continued moving and even after the whole ordeal you still ignored him whenever he called your name.
It didn’t matter if he called you ‘sea serpent’ or ‘levi’ or even your actual name. You were insistent on not giving him the time of day. This left him in a grumpy mood, and you weren’t contactable by any member of the Octavinelle dormitory because you were ignoring all of them. Instead, Floyd pestered Riddle into delivering a message.
The poor Housewarden had to beg you to speak to the tweel, as he doesn’t know how much longer he can take it. Out of pity, you slapped Floyd twice; one for daring to do that to your friends and the other for daring to apologize through someone rather than directly. The Leech twin was surprised that his boyfriend would do that, but he understood.

Omg, I love all your work! Im gushing over it, how about one with the Master Chief where the reader is just loving kissing his scars and making him feel loved and the reader is a scientist stationed on the infinity
another master chief request, LETS GOOOO
---
The Infinity was in orbit around Reach, and you finally had some time off to rest and relax, after being deployed up in space for a few months. You were starting to miss natural gravity.
You were a scientist stationed on Infinity, so that meant that majority of your time was spent up in space. You’ve wanted to be a scientist for as long as you can remember, always dreaming of studying the stars, and maybe even one day, being able to physically explore them, traveling through the galaxy. And here you were, some twenty odd years later from when you obsession with the cosmos first came to fruition.
You were also eager to get back down to Reach because you know John was back from his last mission, and you were anxious to get back, excited to see your boyfriend. This time, he was gone for only three weeks, which was actually not a long time at all. Sometimes his work would take him away form you for much longer, but you thanked the heavens that he was already back on Reach, safe and sound.
Earlier, you were frantically cleaning your apartment since he was coming over tonight. You were already kind of a clean freak, so when you were expecting company (even though he’s your boyfriend of many years) you went into ultra-cleaning mode, and cleaned for hours on end, making sure everything was spotless, and smelled good. It also helped you clear your mind.
Eight o’clock finally rolled around, and you were expecting John to be here any time now.
You hear a knock on your door, and you sprint up from the couch and basically rip the door open, a wide grin on your face as you take in your boyfriend, who’s standing in your door frame. He’s opted for comfy clothes, wearing his all-black workout clothes. You’ve always commented on how the black brings out the green in his eyes.
He brings you in for a warm hug, his large arms wrapping around your frame and pulling you in close to him. You feel his chin rest on top of your head, and you both gently rock back and forth as you soak up each other’s warmth. He smells just as you remember, like a gentle rainfall with a hint of cedar. It’s your favorite scent. You finally break away from him, formally greeting him this time, and then you both enter your home.
Fast forward a couple hours, finds yourself laying in bed, with John, and you guys are talking about everything under the sun. He told you about his last mission and surprisingly, some drama that’s been going on with the Blue team, among other mundane updates since he last saw you. You do the same, talking about your latest project, which is tracking a certain galaxy through the Universe.
You have your fairy lights turned on, making your room glow softly, and you’re both wrapped under the covers and in each other’s arms. You wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the universe right now.
Your head rests on John’s bicep, while your leg is thrown over his hip. His arm that is not acting as a pillow for you, is wrapped around your middle, his hand resting on your back, rubbing soft circles there.
“…and where did you get this one from?” Your hand is currently resting on his face, gently cupping it, as your thumb traces of a scar that marks his left cheek. He’s already told you how he got each of his scars, but you always love hearing him tell the stories, so you find yourself asking him to tell you again.
His hand that was resting on your back, moves so now it’s holding your waist, and he gives you a light pinch, teasing you. You squirm and giggle, but you just look up expectantly at John, waiting to hear the story for the hundredth time.
“Well, as you very well know, I got this on the first Halo I visited.”
You perk up, “Ooo, installation 04, right?” John lets out a chuckle, “Yeah, that one.”
“Aka, the one you destroyed.” You grant him a sly grin. This time he more so huffs, rather than laughs, “Yes, that one.”
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry, continue good sir.” You didn’t see him roll his eyes, but you know he did mentally.
“It was probably day 6 since I touched down on Halo, after the whole Flood incident, so I was pretty worse for wear. We happened to run into a Covenant fleet, which had more than the average amount of Elites. Two in which had the invisibility cloaking mechanism, and their infamous energy swords.”
You nod, encouragingly for him to continue, your thumb still gently moving back and forth on his face. You also lean up to give him a quick kiss on his jaw, and you feel his grip on your waist tighten at the action.
“I managed to take one of the cloaked elites out, while the marines focused on the rest of the fleet. The second elite though was a slippery bastard, and he almost managed to slice my head clean off my neck, but luckily, the sword only grazed my face, giving me this lovely blemish.”
“Well, I love it.” You lean in to kiss his cheek, where the discoloration remains form the blade of the energy sword. You rest your forehead on his for a moment, then kiss his nose.
“I also love this one.” You move to right above his left eye, where a long-jagged mark remains, and leave a kiss. You move to his right temple and plant your lips there, “And this one…”
“Now I think you’re just trying to flatter me.” You let out a breathy laugh, “Never.”
He has a couple of very small scars littering his other cheek, so you pepper kisses all over there, “…and these ones.”
You then hover your lips over his, lightly brushing them as you say, “But most importantly, I love you.”

i saw your post about the essay you wrote on the gayness in great gatsby, and im doing a similar thing. im wondering what parts you quoted because to me it’s more the vibe rather than any piece of text. thanks!
Happy to provide! I'm trying to not miss anything here, so my apologies for the ultra-long post. And trust me, this is a very long post. I went through all 137 pages. This is likely far more than you wanted or needed, so. Whoops on that front. But I digress. Without much further ado, textual evidence of The Great Gatsby's (mostly Nick's) queerness and where to find said evidence within the book!
The PDF I'm using, found through a single google search. The wonders of a lack of copyright!
Chapter 1
Nick, immediately asserting his Gatsby bias; "Only Gatsby, the man who gives his name to this book, was exempt from my reaction—Gatsby, who represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn." (5).
When describing Gatsby; “If personality is an unbroken series of successful gestures, then there was something gorgeous about him.” (5).
Nick eyeing up Tom and also being a little afraid of him; "Now he was a sturdy straw-haired man of thirty with a rather hard mouth and a supercilious manner. Two shining arrogant eyes had established dominance over his face and gave him the appearance of always leaning aggressively forward. Not even the effeminate swank of his riding clothes could hide the enormous power of that body — he seemed to fill those glistening boots until he strained the top lacing, and you could see a great pack of muscle shifting when his shoulder moved under his thin coat. It was a body capable of enormous leverage — a cruel body" and "His speaking voice, a gruff husky tenor..." (8).
Nick finding Jordan Baker, the most androgynous woman around, attractive (Which, while not inherently queer, as a mostly gay man I've found that masculine women and feminine men tend to be a hit with queer folks. Do with that what you will); "I enjoyed looking at her. She was a slender, smallbreasted girl, with an erect carriage, which she accentuated by throwing her body backward at the shoulders like a young cadet." (11).
Chapter 2
Nick being kinda grossed out by Catharine; "The sister, Catherine, was a slender, worldly girl of about thirty, with a solid, sticky bob of red hair, and a complexion powdered milky white. Her eye-brows had been plucked and then drawn on again at a more rakish angle, but the efforts of nature toward the restoration of the old alignment gave a blurred air to her face." (25).
Nick's opinions on the McKee's (Take note of Mr. McKee's description-describing a man as "feminine" pretty much meant nothing but gay when Fitzgerald wrote it. Trust me, he would have known the connotations); "Mr. McKee was a pale, feminine man... there was a white spot of lather on his cheekbone, and he was most respectful in his greeting... His wife was shrill, languid, handsome, and horrible." (25).
Nick doing something that could be described as tender; "Mr. McKee was asleep on a chair with his fists clenched in his lap, like a photograph of a man of action. Taking out my handkerchief I wiped from his cheek the remains of the spot of dried lather that had worried me all the afternoon." (30).
I implore you, read the final few paragraphs of chapter two. Nick 100% sleeps with Mr. McKee. A taste of that; "… I was standing beside his bed and [Mr. McKee] was sitting up between the sheets, clad in his underwear, with a great portfolio in his hands." (31).
Chapter 3
Nick, upon receiving an invitation to Gatsby's party (The 2013 movie had Tobey Maguire stress that 'No one had ever been invited to Gatsby's' with the exception of him. Do with that what you will); "I had been actually invited. A chauffeur in a uniform of robin’s-egg blue crossed my lawn early that Saturday morning with a surprisingly formal note from his employer: the honor would be entirely Gatsby’s, it said, if I would attend his “little party.” that night. He had seen me several times, and had intended to call on me long before, but a peculiar combination of circumstances had prevented it — signed Jay Gatsby, in a majestic hand." (33-34).
A quick aside about the party and Gatsby symbolism; as my English teacher so fervently pointed out, Daisy wears white to symbolize purity/innocence/some other million dollar word. If we are to believe that Fitzgerald painstakingly planned out that symbolism, then this line about Nick's party attire, "[I was] dressed up in white flannels" (34) should have some significance to it, right?
Nick, unaware he is talking to Gatsby, immediately feels better upon talking to him; "It was on the tip of my tongue to ask his name when Jordan looked around and smiled. 'Having a gay time now?' she inquired. 'Much better.'" (38).
And of course, this gem—Nick, instantly smitten by Gatsby's smile; "He smiled understandingly — much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced― or seemed to face― the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just so far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey." (39).
Nick being anxious and a little fixated on a shoulder touch from Gatsby, Gatsby practically planning a date out; "Rather ashamed that on my first appearance I had stayed so late, I joined the last of Gatsby’s guests, who were clustered around him. I wanted to explain that I’d hunted for him early in the evening and to apologize for not having known him in the garden. 'Don’t mention it,' he enjoined me eagerly. 'Don’t give it another thought, old sport.' The familiar expression held no more familiarity than the hand which reassuringly brushed my shoulder. 'And don’t forget we’re going up in the hydroplane to-morrow morning, at nine o’clock.'"
Nick, about Jordan, then very quickly saying something that very much sounds like the closeted experience when you're in an unaccepting environment; "I thought I loved her. But I am slow-thinking and full of interior rules that act as brakes on my desires..." (47).
Chapter 4
Gatsby, picking up Nick for what I will only call a 'Discreet meeting between two close male friends'; "Good morning, old sport. You’re having lunch with me today and I thought we’d ride up together." (50).
Nick, paying a strange amount of attention to Gatsby's stance, and describing it so... yeah; "He was balancing himself on the dashboard of his car with that resourcefulness of movement that is so peculiarly American — that comes, I suppose, with the absence of lifting work or rigid sitting in youth and, even more, with the formless grace of our nervous, sporadic games." (50).
Another interlude; According to my literal teachers, Gatsby's car is supposed to be a euphemism for his penis. I'd censor this, but hey, this book is about affairs. Anyways, this fact makes this sequence very funny to me; "He saw me looking with admiration at his car. 'It’s pretty, isn’t it, old sport?' He jumped off to give me a better view. 'Haven’t you ever seen it before?' I’d seen it. Everybody had seen it. It was a rich cream color, bright with nickel, swollen here and there in its monstrous length with triumphant hat-boxes and supper-boxes and toolboxes, and terraced with a labyrinth of wind-shields that mirrored a dozen suns." (50).
Nick, falling in love with the way Gatsby speaks; "Little Montenegro! He lifted up the words and nodded at them — with his smile. The smile comprehended Montenegro’s troubled history and sympathized with the brave struggles of the Montenegrin people. It appreciated fully the chain of national circumstances which had elicited this tribute from Montenegro’s warm little heart. My incredulity was submerged in fascination now; it was like skimming hastily through a dozen magazines." (52).
Nick being not okay with Gatsby being not straightforward with him; "'Look here, old sport,' said Gatsby, leaning toward me, 'I’m afraid I made you a little angry this morning in the car.' There was the smile again, but this time I held out against it." (56).
Wolfsheim talking up Gatsby to Nick; "'Fine fellow, isn’t he? Handsome to look at and a perfect gentleman.' 'Yes.'" (56).
Nick literally settling for Jordan—Note how Nick describes Jordan as 'wan'. Jordan is, almost exclusively, the only one described as wan. Remember this. Anyways, Nick settling; "Unlike Gatsby and Tom Buchanan, I had no girl whose disembodied face floated along the dark cornices and blinding signs, and so I drew up the girl beside me, tightening my arms. Her wan, scornful mouth smiled, and so I drew her up again closer, this time to my face." (62).
Chapter 5
Gatsby inviting Nick to Coney Island way too late at night; "'...Let’s go to Coney Island, old sport. In my car.'" (63).
Wow Nick. Interesting way to describe Gatsby. That's. That doesn't seem fond no not at all. No but why does 'glaring tragically' sound. Yeah; "Gatsby, pale as death, with his hands plunged like weights in his coat pockets, was standing in a puddle of water glaring tragically into my eyes." (66).
Nick describing Gatsby; "He literally glowed; without a word or a gesture of exultation a new well-being radiated from him and filled the little room." (69).
OH COOL GATSBY YEAH JUST INVITE YOUR ROMANTIC INTREST AND YOUR 'VERY GOOD CLOSE MALE FRIEND' OVER TO SEE YOUR HOUSE YEAH; "'I want you and Daisy to come over to my house,' he said, 'I’d like to show her around.' 'You’re sure you want me to come?' 'Absolutely, old sport.'" (69).
Gatsby searching for approval from Nick; "'My house looks well, doesn’t it?” he demanded. “See how the whole front of it catches the light.' I agreed that it was splendid." (69-70).
Gatsby saying he keeps his house 'full of interesting people' (however, Gatsby has only invited Nick, honestly); "'I keep it always full of interesting people, night and day. People who do interesting things. Celebrated people.'" (70).
Nick, very sure Daisy couldn't possibly be right for Gatsby anymore; "There must have been moments even that afternoon when Daisy tumbled short of his dreams — not through her own fault, but because of the colossal vitality of his illusion." (74).
Chapter 6
Nick tells us of Gatsby's truth, of the name James Gatz. Note that Nick is the one person Gatsby trusts with this. This quote us of little importance aside from me telling you the fact only Nick knows of his past; "He was a son of God — a phrase which, if it means anything, means just that — and he must be about His Father’s business, the service of a vast, vulgar, and meretricious beauty. So he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen-year-old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end."
Nick once again fixated on Gatsby's smile; "I suppose he smiled at Cody — he had probably discovered that people liked him when he smiled." (77).
This isn't important this is just funny to me; "...in the course of gay parties..." (77).
Nick once again not being that into the women around him; "The girl addressed was trying, unsuccessfully, to slump against my shoulder."
Nick immediatly defending Gatsby from Tom's accusations; "'I didn’t hear it. I imagined it. A lot of these newly rich people are just big bootleggers, you know.' 'Not Gatsby,' I said shortly."
Nick really hating that Gatsby won't give up Daisy and wishing that somebody could just replace her in his mind; "Perhaps some unbelievable guest would arrive, a person infinitely rare and to be marvelled at, some authentically radiant young girl who with one fresh glance at Gatsby, one moment of magical encounter, would blot out those five years of unwavering devotion."
Nick staying late because Gatsby asked him to; "I stayed late that night, Gatsby asked me to wait until he was free, and I lingered in the garden..." (84).
Nick trying to hint that Gatsby should start looking into new people for romance. Perhaps someone in the present. Y'know. Like a writer. Just shy of thirty. With the initials N.C. Y'know. Here's the quote; "'I wouldn’t ask too much of her,' I ventured. 'You can’t repeat the past.'"
Nick wanting to say something to Gatsby; "For a moment a phrase tried to take shape in my mouth and my lips parted like a dumb man’s, as though there was more struggling upon them than a wisp of startled air. But they made no sound, and what I had almost remembered was uncommunicable forever." (86).
Chapter 7
Nick really liking Gatsby; "I wanted to get up and slap him on the back. I had one of those renewals of complete faith in him that I’d experienced before." (99).
Nick, concerned about losing 'men to know'. He doesn't mention women; "Thirty — the promise of a decade of loneliness, a thinning list of single men to know..." (104).
Nick, lying; "I disliked him so much by this time..." (110).
Chapter 8
Intriguing of you to say 'come home' and not 'go home', Nick; "I hesitated. 'You’d better come home and
get some sleep.'" (112).
Nick embodying every lovesick gay; "I couldn’t sleep all night... Toward dawn I heard a taxi go up Gatsby’s drive, and immediately I jumped out of bed and began to dress — I felt that I had something to tell him, something to warn him about, and morning would be too late." (113).
Hey remember how I said Nick pretty much only describes Jordan as wan? Yeah here's Nick describing Gatsby that way; "'Nothing happened,' he said wanly." (113).
Nick essentially being annoyed that Gatsby doesn't want to romance him now; "I think that he would have acknowledged anything now, without reserve, but he wanted to talk about Daisy." (114).
Nick not leaving Gatsby; "I didn’t want to go to the city. I wasn’t worth a decent stroke of work, but it was more than that — I didn’t want to leave Gatsby. I missed that train, and then another, before I could get myself away." (118).
Parallel between Nick and Daisy; "'I’ll call you about noon.' We walked slowly down the steps. 'I suppose Daisy’ll call too.'"
Nick's complement to Gatsby; "'They’re a rotten crowd,' I shouted across the lawn. 'You’re worth the whole damn bunch put together.'" (118).
Nick lying. You don't dedicate a book to a guy entitled 'The Great' with his name and 'disapprove of him'; "It was the only compliment I ever gave him, because I disapproved of him from beginning to end." (118).
The smile, again; "First he nodded politely, and then his face broke into that radiant and understanding smile, as if we’d been in ecstatic cahoots on that fact all the time." (118).
Nick again being a concerned lovesick gay; "I called Gatsby’s house... I tried four times..." (119).
Sounds rather wishful, Nick; "I have an idea that Gatsby himself didn’t believe [the call] would come, and perhaps he no longer cared."
Chapter 9
Nick being basically haunted; "...his protest continued in my brain: 'Look here, old sport, you’ve got to get somebody for me. You’ve got to try hard. I can’t go through this alone.'" (126).
Nick upset at everyone who isn't Gatsby; "I began to have a feeling of defiance, of scornful solidarity between Gatsby and me against them all."(127).
Nick describing himself as a close friend of Gatsby to Gatsby's father; "'...Were you a friend of my boy’s, Mr.—?' 'We were close friends.'" (128).
Tom Buchanan being cruel as usual, drawing a direct parallel; "...He threw dust into your eyes just like he did in Daisy’s..." (136).
And that's it! All possibly queer quotes from Gatsby. Again, I apologize for the length.

What about the TFP autobots coming back to Earth and they meet the kids who are now adults (referring to the ‘TFP Kids and Their Future’ post btw!) it would be very nice to see the bots interact with miko’s adopted kids if she has any💪
What a lovely idea! Gonna be some mixed angst and feels in this though so be warned. Can't have joy without a tig bit of sorrow!
After Twenty Long Years
Time works a bit differently for Cybertronians. Their indefinitely long lifespans ensure that they see the passage of time in a different light. A century for them is round about a year and change when using human measurements. As such when they finally returned to earth they were completely shocked. Twenty years wasn't all that long to them at all, it felt like an extended work trip more than anything else. So seeing the human children suddenly be no longer children and even have children of their own blew the bots away.
They knew human lifespans were short, but they didn't think they were that short.
Bumblebee was the first to return to Earth. He missed Rafael and the others and wanted to see the old base again. And so he sent a message to the American government in advance and requested a meeting with his human friends. His request was granted and soon after, he used the space bridge on Cybertron to get to earth. When he arrived he found himself before five humans who looked so similar to the ones he was familiar with, and yet incredibly different.
Rafael, now a full grown adult, was the first to step forward and greet Bumblebee as he stood staring with wide optics. Bumblebee was unable to believe what he was seeing and spent the next several minutes checking to be sure that, yes the human was indeed Rafael, and that no, he wasn't hallucinating. Then all the emotions Bumblebee had put away for later came bubbling up again.
Tearfully and with a wavering voice, Bumblebee refamiliarized himself with Rafael, then Miko, Jack, Agent Fowler, and even June. They were all much older, their organic frames more developed/deteriorated, and that startled Bumblebee. However he did his best to not show this as the children, now no longer children, began getting him up to date on everything that had gone on during his absence.
Bumblebee was sure there couldn't be any more surprises in store for him beyond the sudden (at least in his view) growth of the children into adults and the rapid aging of Fowler and June. But he found himself proven wrong when Rafael told him all about his efforts to reach Cybertron. He was only more shocked when he heard about Miko's adventures getting the organization in order all while handling being a parent. And of course, when Bumblebee felt about ready to faint from the sudden influx of data, June and Fowler let him know that they married and Jack told him all about his spouse was expecting.
With all the information and the sudden realization that humans age far quicker than he originally thought, Bumblebee sent out a notice to the rest of the team, requesting that they all join him on earth for a reunion. He did this partially out a fear that if he waited too long that the human children would up and die, but mostly out of a desire to have an excuse to get the team together again. His request was accepted by the team within a few days and soon after, they started to arrive.
Bulkhead and Wheeljack came next, and both were left flabbergasted at Miko's growth. She was still as energetic as ever and with enough will to fight a Con just like before, but the two wreckers still spent a hot minute trying to determine if Miko was actually Miko. After everything was confirmed they immediately tried to drag her into a game with them as their way of reminiscing. Rafael and Jack started to have flashbacks to times when Miko nearly got herself killed playing with the bots as she went about trying to play lob ball using a mech suit.
Ultra Magnus and Arcee came a day or so later, both swamped in work, but also eager to be back on earth. Ultra Magnus only because he wanted to ensure that none of the team did anything foolish, and Arcee because she had greatly missed her human ward throughout their time apart. While Arcee flung herself back into refamiliarizing herself with Jack who she had grown to consider a son of sorts, Ultra Magnus focused on stopping Miko and her wreckers from destroying things.
Smokescreen and Ratchet came last, each having been out beyond the borders of Cybertron doing work for the council before receiving the invitation to come to earth. Smokescreen was ecstatic and his first response was to look at the human children in awe, questioning them to see if they got reformatted before being told that, no, they just got older. Ratchet got to know the children again and congratulated Fowler and June before ultimately pulling away to watch from the sidelines. Earth had too many memories for him to be completely comfortable, especially without Optimus.
Once all the bots were settled, the now grown children brought out their families for the bots to meet.
Arcee nearly cried when she was introduced to Jack's wife and saw her very apparent pregnancy. It was incredibly hard for the two wheeler to keep her cool as Jack guided her servo toward his wife baby bump. She did end up shedding silent tears when the unborn babe kicked, allowing Arcee to feel the fledgling life growing within its mother's womb. Ratchet and the others found it incredibly interesting, but none had the same reactions as Arcee. In her mind she had only been gone the human equivalent of a few months only to return and find her human sparkling had gone off, grown up, and was about to have a child of his own. She was both pleased beyond measure at the development and sorrowful because it meant that her sparkling was all grown up and no longer needed her.
Jack, ever the kind soul, saw Arcee's emotional turmoil and asked her to be the godmother to his unborn child. The two wheeler very nearly broke down, but was able to keep her composure well enough to accept the offer with utmost respect. Such bonds, especially on Cybertron, were nothing to be taken lightly.
(Even far into the future when Jack and his children were long dead, Arcee remained and watched over his descendants loyally, totally devoted to her position as a godmother. To her it did not matter if the humans faded and died in a matter of months by Cybertronian standards. Jack and all his descendants were under her protection, she had promised him, and she intended to continue her watch, teaching and guiding his descendants centuries into the future for as long as his line remained.)
While Arcee had her moment with Jack and his wife, Ratchet and Bumblebee were introduced to the people Rafael saw as family. Rafael had not married or had any children of his own, being far too fixated on his work of reaching the stars to even begin considering such a thing. However he did take several bright and open minded apprentices who he saw as his children in a way. His apprentices were all relatively young, being in their late teens or early twenties, but in front of Bumblebee and Ratchet, they acted like children in a candy shop. Each of them asking questions at rapid fire pace, taking scans, making notes, or trying to climb up onto the medic and scout's armor.
Ratchet was scared more than anything else, not wanting to harm the little humans as they scurried about. He ended up sitting on the ground, perfectly still as Rafael's exuberant apprentices poked around and looked at him with what the medic could only describe as puppy dog eyes. For the first time in years, Ratchet smiled and allowed himself to relax, remembering times when Rafael acted the same way. As for Bumblebee? He teared up a little watching all of Rafael's apprentices scramble and look up at him with stars in their eyes. They might not have been born of Rafael, but Bumblebee could see Rafael's influence and felt more than a little excited as his big brother instincts kicked in. Rafael's little apprentices had so much to learn, so many questions, and endless curiosity. Bumblebee couldn't wait to watch them grow.
(Bumblebee ended up making earth his mostly permanent home, only ever returning to Cybertron for short periods of time or for important work. He took great joy in watching each generation of Rafael's space program work away happily, each being so curious and desperate to reach the stars. Eventually Bumblebee, in a far off future, would stand by the humans who had taken on Rafael's legacy as they stood before the council and joined the wider galaxy. Ratchet would become something of a legend for those in Rafael's program, turning up randomly and for a few months at a time before vanishing for decades. Ratchet couldn't stand getting attached after Rafael's death and so only returned to earth occasionally to check in on Rafael's legacy before leaving again. However when humanity finally did join the rest of the galaxy, he at last allowed himself to let go of his grief and connect with humans again.)
Meanwhile Ultra Magnus, Smokescreen, Bulkhead, and Wheeljack were introduced to Miko's rather large family. She had married, but she and her partner had not had children of their own, instead opting to adopt children from war torn countries. Miko's clan numbered around twelve strong including her and her spouse and not including her two dogs, both named after the wreckers she had grown up emulating. The wreckers and the rookie elite guardsman were left completely awestruck for the most part upon seeing Miko's rather ginormous family. They ended up spending the entire day playing with her horde of children, singing them songs, teaching them Cybertronian games, and wrecker standards. By the end of the day, each of Miko's children were thoroughly sold on the idea of becoming wreckers themselves.
Wheeljack, in his increadible wisdom, forged each of Miko's children little blades just for them, telling them to protect the innocent and fight for freedom like wreckers aught to. As her children were all between the ages of six and seventeen, the results of his gift giving were varied, but the end result led to Ultra Magnus giving the children lessons on proper blade usage and law. Bulkhead did his best to keep them from trying to stab each other, on purpose or by accident, all while Smokescreen made it more difficult by setting up targets and giving the children fake Decepticons to fight (he ended up pretending to be Megatron, much to the joy of the children as they defeated him in glorious combat).
(Miko's descendants would later go on to create a human division of the wreckers with Wheeljack and Bulkhead's help. Their unit was accepted by the Cybertronian council after more than a little haggling on Ultra Magnus's part. But in the end, humans and Cybertronians fought together side by side, as brothers and sisters in arms, bound together by their oaths as wreckers. Smokescreen was not involved much in this, but did train multiple humans in fighting against Cybertronian opponents.)
It was a good day for both humans and Cybertronians. At last, they were reunited... However not all news was pleasant.
When asked about Cybertron, the bots told them that it had been restored... at a cost. When questioned as to where Optimus was and what the cost happened to be, the saddened expression from the bots led the humans to piece the puzzle together rather quickly. To Rafael, Miko, and Jack, Optimus was not only their protector, but he was also a guide, teacher, and listening ear. They may not have been as close to the Prime as they were to the other bots, but he was still always there, always willing to march forward no matter the odds. As such hearing of his sacrifice to restore Cybertron was not surprising considering the Prime's personality, but it was saddening.
Optimus would never see the fruits of his labor, he would never know if earth was safe and if all went well. He would never know of Rafael's acheivements. He would never meet Miko's children. And he would never get to see Jack's unborn child.
They may not have known the Prime like Ratchet did, but they loved him nonetheless.
Optimus's Return
Ten years after the team returned to earth for the first time, Optimus returned to the living realm, and after completing his mission, made his own visit to the human children he had once guarded.
He was met with teary eyes and long awaited hugs. They were older, far older than he remembered them being, but the humans were still his little ones all the same. Optimus could not stop the small yet sad smile that formed on his face as he brought Jack, Miko, and Rafael up to his face. They hugged him softly and afterward, brought him to meet their families as they had done ten years prior with his team.
Rafael's apprentices were still as starry eyed as ever before, and Optimus patiently answered their questions when they were brought to him and promptly bombarded him with queries. Miko's children were an absolute joy for the Prime, even the grown ones were lovely. He spent hours telling her young ones stories and gently patting her first grandchild as the babe reached for his huge digit with a happy giggle. Jack's small family was just as wonderful for Optimus and he spent just as long lovingly playing with Jack's ten year old son and five year old daughter.
(Long into the future, Optimus still made journeys to earth just to meet the children born of Miko and Jack's lines. He became something of a mystical entity to their descendants, coming to earth once every handful of decades to bless the children and wish them well. Most would think it meant nothing, but later, after many generations had come and gone, each receiving Optimus's blessing, the children started to change. Almost as though an instinct had been implanted into them long ago, the children always came running when Optimus came, each reaching out to him and understanding his words despite nothing being spoke in English, or sometimes even aloud. In time, they would come to develop a unique bond with Cybertronians and an ability to understand them as no other humans had ever before. Weather it was the result of Optimus's blessings or the progression of humanity is debatable, but the results are undeniable.)

Swerve x Human Liaison Reader PART 3
Another continuation of the fanfic inspired by @i-starcreamed: Swerve + a human liaison who starts off as quiet and distant. This is gonna be long as hell tho, I’m 5k words in and not even halfway done.
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / ?
The song for this chapter is overdone but whatever.
The following day, you were working as diligently as always. You were proofreading a scheduled update on post-war developments for Earth with Ultra Magnus. (He was, by far, the bot you spoke with most aboard the Lost Light. Still, your conversations never got more personal than talking about rhetoric.) The two of you were debating the use of an Oxford comma in your report when Rung came by and asked for a moment of your time; you put a swift end to your quarrel by sending your message according to your grammatical tastes. Magnus opened his mouth as if to further argue, but looking at Rung, paused, closed his optics, and you could swear he took a deep meditative breath before nodding at you and walking off. Given the effect he had on your colleague and his slim un-warlike frame, it was easy to deduce his identity as a distinctive recurring character in Swerve’s tales.
As he approached you with intent and far too much warmth to be genuine, alarms went off in your brain… were you in trouble? Did they think you were mentally unstable? You controlled your voice and introduced yourself, then, before he could answer, you said, “You’re Rung, the ship’s psychiatrist - correct?”
Rung was somewhat taken aback that you knew who he was (and pronounced his name right, at that.) “Why, yes! How did you know?” His head was cocked in genuine confusion as he offered his servo for a handshake; the familiar gesture made you smile. Swerve had been the only other bot to extend the Terran introduction. This guy must have done some research on your culture beforehand.*
You didn’t really want to tell him he matched the description of the guy Swerve used as a weapon to bravely rescue Thunderclash, Rodimus, and Magnus. “Lucky guess. Is something the matter?”
“Not at all. I thought you might be having some difficulty adjusting to life on the ship, so I wanted to extend my services to you. I would have done so earlier, but I only recently learned that human and Cybertronian psychology were similar enough to make the offer useful to you.”
You realized this was the perfect opportunity to learn more about the way your crewmates acted and thought and accepted, deciding to meet when you were done with work that day. This was an opportunity for you - you’d pretend to benefit from therapy (because you were fine and everything was fine and you DON’T have self-confidence issues) in order to do more research.
You were about to turn back to your work when Tailgate came in - he and Rung greeted each other as they passed. He too walked right up to you.
“Hello, Tailgate, what brings you up here? I’m afraid you just missed Ultra Magnus, but I can go get him for you.”
“Actually, I came here to see you!” His voice was cheerful, even if you couldn’t read his hidden expression.
“Really?” A twinge of panic. Did this have to do with last night? Or had you done something else noticeable, without realizing it?
“Yeah! I know you usually sit alone in your little penthouse, so I wanted to invite you to sit at the bar with me and my friends.”
“O- oh. At Swerve’s? Right up there, at the bar? Well, I’m worried I’d get crush. Crushed. Whirl almost sat on me when I first came in.”
“Don’t worry, we’d look after you! Cyclonus is a great bodyguard,” he remarked, gushing over him. You knew that those two were an item, and maybe Cyclonus wasn’t as scary as he looked. But still. You weren’t eager to come face to face with him after that glare he gave you. You knew some bots held grudges against organics, and you worried that he was one of them. “Actually, you could probably sit on the bar. That would keep you safe, and I don’t think Swerve would mind.”
The suggestion made your blood run cold. You thought about it often enough. Your legs dangling over the bar, onto his side - you’d probably kick them mindlessly like you usually do when you’re really absorbed in his storytelling. Sometimes, you preferred to imagine you were invisible in this scenario - same deal as the organic suite, but with a better view. Other times, you’re chiming in with witty comments that everyone appreciates. Especially him. Laughter lights up his face and you’re in the blast radius of that breathtaking smile. Maybe he looks at you as you make your remarks, the way you look at him. Maybe you don’t look away from him, maybe you’re so sure of yourself and so sure that you can fit in this alien setting that you don’t even flinch when you make eye contact. A favorite version is when you stay as the bots trickle out for the night, so lost in conversation that you forget to leave. He’d have his work cut out for him, cleaning up, but you’d slip onto the other side of the bar and help out. He would be moved. He would offer to escort you to your habsuite on the other side of the ship. On the walk, you would string together a magic combination of words which would -
“You okay?”
“Oh! Yeah. I, um, I’m not sure. I mean, I really appreciate the offer. It’s just. I. Uh.” You could not think of a single excuse. You moved your hands around as though you were still speaking and looked up at Tailgate. Your throat was dry, you couldn’t breathe. “I’m … Not … ” you squeaked out, somehow unable to shake the last word from the tip of your tongue even after a few excruciating seconds. Gesturing hopelessly at yourself, you wished that he could understand this floundering charade. Ready. I’m not ready.
Tailgate was puzzled by this malfunction. He didn’t know what the end of that sentence was, but it certainly wasn’t good. “Oh … ok … bye, see ya.” He felt like he had made a fool of himself as he left. He should’ve stuck with his gut and not listened to Cyclonus. Here he was, going out of his way to be rejected.
You couldn’t handle thinking about your absolute failure. At least not until your appointment with Rung. When you had blazed through your tasks for the day, you asked Magnus for more work to do. Anything to put off remembering that interaction. He instantly forgot your grammatical spat and was thrilled by your burgeoning workaholism, especially since he himself was drowning in responsibilities. It felt good to be appreciated. It’s possible you were rather starved for any positive interaction.
Well aware that it might be a little pathetic, you were rather excited for your appointment with Rung. He was about as unintimidating as giant robots came, and you imagine he’d understand your floundering more than the others, if not help you stop it.
---
For the first part of the session, he asked for the broad strokes of your personal history. When he started asking about your life on the ship, though, you were reluctant to speak.
“Have you made any friends on the Lost Light?"
“I don’t think so,” you mumbled.
“ Have you been socializing with anybody on board?”
“Ultra Magnus, I suppose.”
“Great! He’s very level-headed, very responsible, it makes sense that you’d get along. I’m glad to hear you’re spending time with him outside of work.” He jotted down some notes but, looking back at you, noticed that your expression was contorted, as though you were considering correcting that assumption. “... Outside of work, right?”
“... No.”
“Hm. I’m noticing there isn’t much of an ‘outside of work’ for you. So, what drew you to this work?” Rung asked, closing his datapad. “Most ‘liaisons’ we’ve had on board were here mostly for the adventure. If I may be so bold, that doesn’t seem to be your motivation.”
“Are you trying to tell me you don’t think arguing with Magnus about punctuation is adventurous?” you laughed.
“Perilous? Maybe. Adventurous? I don’t think so.”
Your humor apparently wasn’t enough to deflect this line of questioning. With his head tilted, hands folded on his lap, optics on you, and expression accepting and curious, you couldn’t help but answer. “It’s … rather creepy. But I’m kind of fascinated by Cybertronians.” You went on to describe how much you’ve studied to prepare for a diplomatic role like this one, learning as much as you could to be able to understand and interact with their species.
“That’s not strange at all,” he assured you, “Especially considering the impact our kind had on your planet. I know some bots on this ship with a similar appreciation for Earth culture, actually. Anyways, what’s become of that fascination?”
“Now that I’m here, it makes me feel … paralyzed. Suddenly you all are more than a history lesson or a TV program or a textbook diagram. After waiting for an opportunity like this for so long, I’m afraid I’ll mess up and make everyone on the ship hate me.” Something about him made it difficult for you to keep any of these thoughts to yourself.
“I sincerely doubt that’s possible. Someone on this ship shot me in the head, and I’m still friends with him.” Seeing your dropped jaw and utter confusion, he helpfully explained, “Don’t worry, I got better. The point is, it’s more difficult than you think to ‘mess up.’”
“But just after we met earlier today, I did just that. Tailgate invited me to hang out tonight with him at Swerve’s -” your throat caught at this name but you powered on. “I was so nervous, I said no … but I couldn’t come up with a good reason why. I panicked so hard that I couldn’t even explain why I was panicking - I probably gave him the impression I dislike him.”
You began to lament that you destroyed any chance of friendship with him, but Rung pointed out that the ‘damage’ wasn’t irreparable - you shouldn’t assume Tailgate was unwilling to hear your explanation. So you drafted a comms message to Tailgate, with Rung stepping in to ask therapist-y questions and give therapist-y advice. (“You apologize repeatedly - why do you think that is?”) You thought the message was pretty effective:
Hi, Tailgate! Your invitation was such a pleasant surprise. I’m sorry if it seemed like I didn’t care to spend time with you. I turned your offer down because, although I would really like to get to know you, I’m still very nervous on this ship. A crowded environment like the bar would overwhelm me right now. Would you be interested in hanging out on the observation deck instead?
You smiled as you sent it off. It felt like a weight had been lifted from you. But now, there was the new pressure of waiting for his response. Would he believe you? Would he hold a gr- nevermind, he already responded. That was quick! You would see him tomorrow after work, but right now, you were ready to curl up in your own room. No Swerve’s tonight - but you weren’t so convinced anymore that you’d never return to your favorite bar.
---
Rung, on the other hand, was at Swerve’s. He was having a pleasant conversation with Nightbeat when the bartender abandoned his post to interrupt him.
“Hey, Rung,” Swerve said as he tucked one shanix into a compartment on the psychiatrist’s shoulder, “That’s my copay - you’re my counselor now, so you’re legally not allowed to tell anyone what I say to you.” He remembered something like this from Breaking Bad. Granted, that was a fictional show set in an entirely alien legal system, and the guy who was paid was a lawyer, not a psychologist - but the same rules probably applied.
“That’s not how it works,” Rung sighed, “But I can promise you as a friend I’ll keep it between us.”
“Gotcha - anyways, I’m worried about y/n. They always show up here, no matter how much work they have, but they didn’t come tonight.”
Rung cocked his head, unsure what Swerve wanted him to do with this information, and unsure of why you didn’t mention your constant visits to the bar. “Why do you need this to be confidential, exactly?”
“Well, why do I say anything? I thought it was funny. It’s an Earth joke - trust me, if you were Terran, you’d be rolling. But it’s all good, man.” (a smile to himself.) “Seriously, though, I know they like staying on the sidelines,” he chattered as he gestured to your ‘organic suite,’ “So I don’t think they’d want people speculating on their disappearance.”
“Aside from yourself, I take it?”
“I’m not gossiping, I’m just worried! I wanted to mention it to you because I know you talk to them.”
“Who - how do you know what patients I’m seeing?”
“Heh. You just told me.” Swerve smirked in spite of himself. He always wanted to use that line. “But in all seriousness, I didn’t mean ‘talk’ in a professional way. Tailgate just told me he bumped into you two earlier today.”
Rung rubbed his helm in frustration. “There are a lot of bots on this ship - a lot of them my clients - that would jump in an escape pod were they suspected of caring for their mental health. Why is Tailgate going around telling people who’s seen with me?”
“Don’t blame Tailgate.” Swerve jumped to the defense of his friend, perhaps a little thoughtlessly. “I asked.”
“You … asked?”
“I was just wondering about them, because they weren’t here, you know? And he just told me he’d invited them to sit at the bar earlier today, and they reacted strangely, so I just asked for context.” His already fast rambling sped up frantically. “They said this place was too ‘overwhelming.’ I still thought I’d see them here, though. They’re always here. They’ve seemed perfectly whelmed this whole time. What could it mean? Do you think they’re sick? Did they get in trouble? Are they alright, do you know what’s going on? Do they not like my bar anymore, I-”
“Okay, I’m keeping this ‘copay,’” Rung patted the compartment Swerve tossed the Shanix into, “And you’re coming to my office tomorrow. Let’s plan on two cycles before you open.” He was already entering it into the calendar on his datapad.
everyone is going on a mental health JOURNEY we are becoming MINDFUL
“Wh- huh? What? Why?!” - Rung opened his mouth to respond - “Actually, don’t answer that. Fine. Whatever. I’ll be there,” then, glancing back to the bar and racing back to his usual spot, “Hands off, Getaway, I’ll pour it myself! If you break that distillery, you’re paying for it!”

Hello and thank you for this sweet event on Valentine's Day! 💝
I'm Vesper, I'm a girl, and my pronouns are she/her. My personality type according to the MBTI test is INFJ.
I'm someone who doesn't like being the center of attention and is truly happy when I can be helpful. I can't stand gossip and people talking behind others' backs, and I believe that anything can be discussed with proper manners. I hate yelling, classism, and anyone who restricts others' freedoms by assuming the role of a judge. I may often appear cold, but when I'm comfortable and in private, I'm very passionate and have a sense of humor based on irony.
I love perfumes, music (I have a fetish for piano version of my favourite songs), and doing laundry (please bear with me). Unfortunately, I'm allergic to bees and I hate cooking. My hobbies include playing the piano, spending evenings in pajamas chatting with my friends, or strolling around the city (of course, not in pajamas!). I also love attending live concerts (rock, grunge and jazz ones) and visiting museums and/or monuments. I love the sea.
My favorite teams are Too, Seirin, and Vorpal Swords.
Thank you for this event, I find it fantastic!
Lots of love,
V.

Type of Romance
Strangers to Lovers
How You Two Met
The day you met Kuroko had purely been an accident. You were out with your friends, taking a walk around the shopping district. Despite being deep in conversation, you managed to weave your way through groups of people and thick crowds with ease. Until you didn't.
Your first meeting with Kuroko was because you had quite literally bumped into him on the street. Even after growing older, he still had an ultra low presence when deep within a crowd. This usually helped him weave through groups as well, but on this day the two of you had managed to find each other.
And boy, was it a little embarrassing.
Tumblr media
"Oh, shoot, Vesper are you okay?" one of your friends asked, causing the whole group to turn and look at you on the ground. The commotion had a few strangers in the nearby area looking as well, all eyes on you and the stranger who had toppled you over.
"I'm fine," you murmured, feeling heat rise to your cheeks out of embarrassment. You went to scramble back onto your feet, wanting nothing more than for people to stop staring. Before you could get up however, there was a hand held out in front of you, offering you some help.
"I'm so sorry," the blue haired male in front of you said, sounding a bit breathless. "Here, let me help you up."
How He Fell For You
After that day, you started to notice Kuroko more and more in your area. Had he always attended your school? Did he always have some of the same classes as you? Did he always eat lunch under the same tree outside? It was like, ever since discovering his presence, you couldn't stop seeing him.
And Kuroko would always spot you as well, a polite smile on his face and a single wave in greeting. Sometimes you caught him already staring at you, as if he had found you first in the crowd.
He was interested in you, curious ever since that fateful meeting, and one day he made that interest known.
Tumblr media
Seated outside on one of the outdoor tables, your eyes scanned the courtyard for the blue haired man you'd recently spotted everywhere. He seemed nowhere to be found for once and you'd wondered if the two of you would finally stop crossing paths.
The thought was disheartening.
"Excuse me, miss?" But when you turned to the voice that had broken through your thoughts, you saw the very same guy standing before you, a small friendly smile on his face. "Vesper, right?" Realizing it might sound weird that he knew your name, he explained that the two of you shared some classes together before asking, "Mind if I sit here with you?"
What a Relationship with Him is Like
You're a couple who indulges in music, whether that be him listening to you play the piano or the both of you sharing some earphones over lunch. Believe it or not, but Kuroko actually shares with you your love for attending concerts and shows. He's rather good at getting the both of you to the front of the crowd, weaving and dodging his way through people to find the two of you the best view.
He's the type of boyfriend who wants to encourage your hobbies while also hoping you would encourage his own. A day with him often looks like watching him play a few rounds on the court before heading home to relax together for the evening. He'll often talk with you about vacations he'd like to go on with you. Knowing your love for the ocean, it's high on his list.
Even if he knows he might burn.
Tumblr media
"You really should wear more sunscreen," you scolded, depositing a dollop of the SPF lotion onto your palm before smoothing it over Kuroko's back.
He winced at the contact, feeling the cool of the lotion over his already burning skin. The pink shade that his pale skin had turned nearly made you laugh if it weren't for the fact he'd look like a lobster soon if he didn't reapply.
"Eh, I should be fine," he reassured, taking the bottle of sunscreen from you before smoothing some over his arms himself. When he turned back to look at you, that smile you loved was already on his face. "I've got you looking after me while we're out here, after all."

Hi! if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the Bucket Au?
Hi yeah thank you for asking!!! It's a big thing do I hope you don't mind it'll be a bit of a long answer so I’m just stuffing the ramble under a cut!!
tl;dr I wanted more about it posted but I’m currently at the end of a burn-out so I needed a break, but I had the AU on my mind almost the entire time. Small summary on some context for stuff so far, why it’s called Bucket AU, and some plans and also a mention of some other project.
---
Originally I was going to draw/write more and just let it be found out for itself, but art's been rough lately and Splatoon's an easy distraction. (and a lot less emotionally taxing... listen I love Omori for it but it's a really heavy game to constantly have on mind!) Also, I've been trying to take care of myself more so that means going outside now, haha;; I went on a vacation, even, wow...
So I guess I'll just say the meat of it, Bucket AU is a post good end au where Omori appears and lives with Sunny in the real world. It's actually meant to be a more serious AU that's sometimes funny, sometimes cheesy, sometimes morbid.
The main part of it centers around Sunny visiting Faraway a few months after moving to an apartment. Everyone is back to greet Sunny and meet Omori, and Stuff happens to make this possible. I think I got a good plotline going, it sure will be a useful tool for later.
As for the reason it's named Bucket AU, well, it's full name is "Emotional Support Bucket Omori" because one of my friends likened him to the Bucket from Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe. If you know you know.
Its back-end is all memes and funnies simply because it's more fun for me (and my friends), I'm not really a serious person so effectively a bunch of it's just going to be light-hearted shenanigans with a character that Isn't Quite Human and kinda lacks a moral compass. I will not hold back when stuff does gets serious, however.
In other words, most of its content is exploring Omori and what he would be if taken out of Sunny's head, with a few twists. Omori just wants to help :)
Everything about it so far is under the "Bucket AU" tag on this blog, and everything story is planned to be accessed through the AO3 fic, even comics. (but they have to take place in the story, so side comics are probably just staying on here.)
So when's more content? Whenever I can finish what I have, honestly it's a huge project that I've already made a bunch of stuff for, but finishing it is incredibly hard with me being... still pretty new to full-on writing. Drafts, drafts, upon drafts just for a few thousand words. Maybe I'll even reach the ten-thousands...
So if any part does finish it will be bigger that what I already have out, longer chapters, more comics, y'know. It’s a skill I’m trying to get better at, it's still something I'm doing in my free time between other projects. In fact I still have a Celeste blog to finish a story for. (and for those of you here from that, I've already written it, I just need to draw it! Asks will be toned down for more "intermission" posts.)
Aaaand I think that's a decent place to leave this ask so feel free to send more if you have more questions, and as a bonus, the more I think about the AU, the more motivated I am, so chat with me about anything on it! I certainly need the reminder... whistle whistle-

Angel Wings
Chapter One: Monday, lunch
“Akari Aizawa?” The principal asked, knowing before even looking away from his laptop that it was me.
“Yep.” I chirped.
“It’s the third time today, what are we going to do with you?”
“I don’t know why I have to be here, all I did was pass out.”
“Who helped you?”
“Don’t know.”
“No, we can’t let you off campus yet.” Whatever.
“Okay, well this has been nice and all, but I’m gonna go now.”
“Actually, can you run an errand for me?”
“Sure, what?”
“Take this to Katsuki Bakugou.” He gives me a folder that says:
Do not open
“Okay. Bye.” I left, heading to Class 1-A.
-6th period-
“I’m looking for a Bakugou?” I say bored, looking down the hall.
“Bakugou, go talk.” I turn.
“N-” He’s already there, bored and intimidating.
“You gonna give me the paper or sit there?” His voice…
“Please,” I say sarcastically, walking farther into the hall.
“What do you want?” He takes a step in my direction. I feel my shoulders tense up, he takes a half-step back, in fear?
“Here, Nezu told me to give it to ya.” I push the folder at him and walk away, blushing.
-Tuesday, Lunch-
“Wow, no more than two episodes, you’re doing better,” Nezu said.
“Yeah, well, whatever, I wanted to ask you something,” I say, Nezu looks more alert.
“Yes?”
“Can I move into Class 1-A? You can put cameras or bodyguards or whatever on me, but please?” I look at the floor embarrassed.
“Yes, I think that will be a great idea, with restrictions.”
“‘Course, but when do I move in?”
“Today, I will notify the students and make arrangements from there.” Shoot, he’s gonna tell them to keep an eye on me.
I groan, “Okay.”
6th period, Mr. Aizawa
“A student will be joining your class.” Nezu waited for the students to calm down.
“Oh!! I can’t wait, this is so exciting!” Mina Ashido piped.
“I know right?”  Kyouka Jirou said.
“Settle down,” I replied in a stern tone.
“When will be the best time for her to move in?”
“Today, I guess.” Ochako Uraraka, said glumly.
“Perfect, I’ll let her know.”
7th period, Akari Aizawa
“You can move in today. However, if I hear a single complaint, you are coming back to the care center, okay?”
“Yep, I’ll go pack, bye!” I ran outdoor and sprinted to my old room.
8th period, Aizawa’s room
I grabbed my clothes and shoved them into the blue suitcase on my bed, I grabbed the rest of my stuff, toiletries, posters, the stuff that made my room mine. I went to the 1-A dormitory.
After school, 1-A dorms
“Oh! Sorry I didn’t know where you wanted me to go.” I stood and bowed in greeting.
“Are you the new girl?” I nod slowly, back to a standing position, “Perfect!, do you have a room already?” I shake my head trying to remember this girl’s name, “Well then, I’ll show you to your room, right this way.”
After school, Aizawa’s new dorm room
“Wait is- is this MY room?” I asked in awe.
“Yep, all yours.” Some other kids came with us.
“Awesome.” I tripped on a rug.
“Are you okay?” A brown-haired girl asked me.
“Yeah I’m fine,” I stand up, ”Um, could I settle in on my own?”
“Sure thing, come on guys.” They left and closed the door behind them.
I sat down on the bed, it was comfy, it had baby blue covers and a pillow that said ‘Plus Ultra!’ in ginormous red and yellow letters. I started unpacking.
-Wednesday, 6:oo P.M.-
*knock knock*
“Who is it?” I said, half-asleep.
“It’s me, Momo Yaoyorozu.”
“Come in, it’s unlocked.” She opened the door.
“Oh okay, that’s bright.” The lights from outside shined in my face, so I turned away.
“That’s the new girl, Akari Aizawa.” I sighed.
“Wow, she’s really pretty.” Huh.
“I mean she looks a lot like Mr.Aizawa, but yeah, she’s cute.” I looked up at my uncle’s name, knives hidden in my hand.
“Wait, do you mean, Shouta?” I asked.
“Yeah our teacher, you look like him.” I saw that it was the brown-haired girl from before.
I got up, still hiding the knives, walked to the hall, and sprinted away.
“WAIT! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” She yelled after me.
7:3o P.M., on the lawns
I threw one, two, three knives at the ground.
Why, why did I have to freak out like that? Can’t I just fit in? Wait, what’s that noise?
All of a sudden, an explosion flew past my head, barely missing me and singeing my black hair.
“What the heck Kacchan?” I see Midoriya and Bakugou fighting, Bakugou shooting explosions at Midoriya, all while Midoriya is just trying to land a hit.
“Would you shut up already?” Bakugou lands a hit on MIdoriya’s back, sending him across the lawn.
Bakugou was stalking towards Midoriya, who was writhing in pain, I wanted to do something, but I couldn’t move, it was too similar, too much like what All for One did to me.
“Knock it off.” Mr. Aizawa walked outside, his eraser quirk flaring, leaving Katsuki and Midoriya almost evenly matched, “Midoriya, inside, Bakugou, come here.”
“Yes, Mr. Aizawa.” Came Midoriya’s reply.
“What do you want?” Bakugou’s shirt was ripped up, pieces on the ground, and he looked so angry, but sad too.
“I want you to make a good impression on our transfer student.” Aizawa pointed to me.
Shoot, they know I’m out here. I’m gonna get sent back, I’m gonna be forced back into the chains, they’re gonna-
“Come on out, Akari.”
“Sorry, I didn’t know anyone else was out here, and then I kinda-”
“It’s fine, Bakugou, please show MIss Aizawa around.”
“NO! Really, I don’t need to be shown around I can find my room on my own, promise.”
“Whatever.” Bakugou left, the back of his shirt was almost destroyed, leaving his very toned muscles visible, and a strange scar.
“Sorry again.” I walked towards the dorm entrance, passing Bakugou, my head down, tears pricking my eyes, as soon as I turned the corner I ran to my dorm room.
-8:oo P.M.
“Hey.” His low voice startled me, his eyes were pinned to the floor, his fists clenched, his hair was wet, and a white towel wrapped around his shoulders.
I was still sitting outside my dorm room door, too scared to go in and too arrogant to leave. This time I kept my head down because tears were flowing, I couldn’t stop them, they just kept coming.
He slammed his fist against the wall, trying to make me acknowledge him, “Hey, you’re blocking my door, move it.”
I pulled my legs to my chest, freeing the space he needed to get into his room.
He didn’t move, he crouched down and put an arm on the wall to steady himself, “It’s late, go to bed.” When I didn’t move he punched the door again, “Are you deaf? Go to bed!” This time, the punch was close enough to my head I flinched back, I froze, my body going completely still, I risked looking into his eyes, but they weren’t angry, just tired. “Are you okay?”
At the simple question, I got up turned around, and went inside, I wasn’t okay, I would never be okay or safe until All for One paid. I heard Bakugou’s door close, and all was quiet. I waited maybe half an hour and went outside again. I looked back up at the dorms, only one room had the lights off, it was the one across from mine, Bakugou’s. I could see movement in the window, it looked like he was punching something, I smiled, I had a punching bag in my room too. I took a deep breath of the night air and went to collect my knives, but when I looked at the spot I had thrown them, they weren’t there. I looked at Aizawa’s window, but I couldn’t see anything, so I went back to my room and blacked out.
-Thursday, early morning-
I woke up on the floor next to my door, blankets were strewn about the room, and my room looked like the aftermath of a hurricane. Well, this isn’t the worst thing that’s come from my black outs.
A very loud bull horn sounded in the dorm room lobby, but my head was already killing me so I went to Aizawa’s room instead, I knocked on the door, “Do you have any pain meds?”
“They’re in the kitchen, only take one,” Aizawa said, sleep evident in his voice, but I understood, the quirks that run in our family give the users constant headaches.
As I was walking back to my room to get dressed, Tenya Iida walked up to me, “As class president, it is my sole responsibility to formally welcome you to the class.” He cleared his throat and saluted, “Welcome to class 1-A, Miss Aizawa.”
“Too much talking, too late in the day, try me again at three a.m., now I need to shower, so see you.”
“Oh, we have to do morning work-outs.” Tsuyu Asui said.
“I have a different routine, check the fridge.” I haven’t even had breakfast yet, leave me alone.
“Yep, she does, she wakes up at 3:oo, showers for 15 minutes, meditates for half an hour, then eats a breakfast of an egg sandwich and fruit, then does her hero courses, skips lunch and does her normal classes, then she works out for three hours and eats a slightly bigger dinner.” Minora Mineta took a breath, “She then does knife throwing for 15 minutes and falls asleep around 7:3o.”
Everyone looked at Mineta in a mix of awe and disgust. I was blushing from embarrassment, but I couldn’t say anything, because I would look stupid saying it. I took a deep breath about to say something or attempt to at least-
“Memorizing someone’s entire routine is creepy, small fry.” He said it so calmly, but you could see how his eyes were pinned to Mineta in the most threatening way.
“No it’s not-” He didn’t even get the chance to explain himself before he had a bruise forming on the left side of his head.
Everyone took a step back, Bakugou had punched Mineta, not all that hard, but…he hit him, he leaned down to Mineta, “If you ever claim that what you try isn’t creepy again, I will make sure blood spills.”
I couldn’t help it, the tears started trailing down my cheek, I never thought that memorizing what other people do was creepy, but I wasn’t even around very many other people up until recently.
“Hey, are you okay?” Izuku Midoriya, had a small bruise forming on his arm.
At this Bakugou turned around, noticing that he was still crouched down, he shot up, brushed himself down, and cleared his throat, “I’m sorry.” It was so low only Midoriya and I could hear it, but he left before I could respond.
I grabbed a banana and went back to my room, I needed to change. I’m sorry, Mineta. I didn’t mean to get you hurt. I didn’t mean to make Bakugou even more upset. I’m so so sorry, everyone. I changed into my altered UA uniform, with two slits in the back of my shirt, no jacket, and the pants were just shorts.
I walked out of the safety of my room and into the outside world, to see All for One. It’s just the panic, not him, not him, not him, please anything but him.
-8:oo A.M., Katsuki Bakugou-
Damn small fry, he doesn’t deserve to know anything about her. Damn stupid Deku, trying to- No, damn me, for scaring her, when I looked back, I could exactly what she saw. All for One coming after her for the smallest things, small as she couldn’t reach something because she was too short. The things I saw when the League kidnapped me…they showed me videos of her, being tortured because All for One couldn’t get her quirk. I took a deep breath, letting the small things get to me could make me lose focus. I opened my eyes, going to the door when I heard her voice, crying out for mercy, the same way she did in the videos, the same way she did when Shigaraki grabbed her, the same way she did in the hospital…I opened the door walking towards the sound.
“Please, anything but him.” She was on the ground, her eyes white, ethereal wings sprouted from her back, if she was steady she would’ve been terrifying, but now she just looked broken, like someone had taken her spirit. She looked around and saw me, except she wasn’t seeing, her eyes were rolled into the back of her head, “Go away, please, leave me alone, don’t hurt me, please.”
At the last word, my resolve broke, I couldn’t leave her again, “It’s okay, he’s not here, calm down,” I kneeled next to her, this was awkward but the only thing able to break her out of the trance, I put my arms around her, pulling her close to me, the way I saw Aizawa do that night. It surprised me how small she was, just looking at her you would think she would be fine, but she was raised on barely anything, I’m surprised she can even hold herself up…
-8:15, Akari Aizawa-
Please, no. I felt a warmth surround me, smelling of caramel, and very strong. I could still see All for One unleashing his insane minions on me any time I did anything even remotely wrong. I froze. Sometimes he would do this too, so I would give him my quirk, so I would give up my being.
-Katsuki Bakugou-
She tensed up, but didn’t stop crying, she needed something to wake her up…but I don’t want to leave her like this, she’s in so much pain…
“Please…” She kept repeating that word, but it’s exactly what has happened every day since she came back I guess, they told me she wouldn’t be in our class, or even allowed to come to UA, they lied. My grip tightened, they told me they would keep her out of danger, and instead, they put her in the one class that deals with her captors weekly.
“Stop, please.” She was still frozen, but I loosened my grip, maybe…
-Akari Aizawa-
I woke up in Mr. Aizawa’s room, laying on my back, Bakugou sitting on the bed, Aizawa sitting in the chair across from me. They were talking about….me, and why I was in UA?
I tried to sit up, Bakugou jumped, and almost shoved me back into the bed, “Lay down.” He didn’t meet my eyes, only looking at Aizawa, who nodded slightly.
His tone was so grim, it reminded me of the day I was rescued, it’s still fuzzy but I remember someone with a really deep voice who was yelling at everyone and smelled like caramel, he carried me to Mr. Aizawa. He just felt safe, and right now, safe is what I wanted, “Will you tell me who saved me that day? You were there, right? You must’ve seen who it was, right?” Bakugou tensed up, he looked almost scared…
“Aizawa?” He nodded, and Bakugou left.
“Now will you tell me who it was?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“The person you think saved you would rather not have you know.”
“Again, why not?”
“He…has reasons that he hasn’t even explained to me, but you need rest. Stay, I’ll be back after school.”

The Prime of His Youth: Book II: Quest for Fire: Ch35: Sylvan
Jack rode Arcee up to the outside of the house / lab, and noticed guards not just there, but on the next building as well. Jack climbed off of Arcee and walked up to the guards outside what was technically his house. He stood to attention as they looked down to him, "Jack Darby. Report."
The one on the left simply stared as the other one stood to attention and saluted. Jack returned the salute. "The second house is being used to house the patients." he said, and the other guard stood to attention and saluted. "This building is a lab, though a couple of rooms have been set aside for you."
"He's?.." the other guard.
"The owner of the house." the first guard stated.
"He's?! Jack Darby?" the other guard asked, looking down at him.
"Helped save Cybertron." the first guard stated.
"And he just killed Ser-Ket." Arcee said, and they both looked at first her, and then Jack with surprise.
"Finishing blow." Jack dismissively said.
This calmed the guards down, until Arcee spoked up again, "And first." she said, and they both went right back to surprise.
"Is Ultra Magnus en route?" Jack asked.
"He is." the first guard replied.
Jack then walked up to the doors, and they opened. He then walked inside.
"Gentlemen." Arcee greeted them as she followed Jack. Inside they found the main chambre filled with all of the ammenities of a Cybertronian lab.
"And what do we have here?" Knockout asked, as he approached, looking him up and down. "I think I recognize that jacket."
"Did you want a hug?" Jack asked him.
"Or a great deal of exposition?" Knockout asked.
"No luck." Arcee said, "We haven't actually accomplished our mission yet."
"So, what, the Dinobot vs. Forged was just a detour?"
"They needed our help." Jack simply stated.
"So, you do all the heroics, and leave us to clean up after you?" he asked, and neither Jack nor Arcee could answer him. "I'm strangely happy being cleanup. Being the hero was never my thing."
"And the villain?" Arcee asked.
"Villain?" Knockout asked, "The furthest I got was as Dragon."
"Dragon?" Arcee asked.
"Predacon?" Jack asked.
"Not that kind of dragon." Knockout stated.
"Then, what kind?" Arcee asked.
"The literary kind." Knockout replied, "The furthest I got was second-in-command, and even that was flying too close to the sun."
He looked at them, and they just stared. Arcee looked down at her sparkmate, "Jack?"
"I feel like I should know this?" Jack asked.
"Hmm..." Knockout voiced, "You don't have your little helicopter girl to fill you in." He then paused.
"And?" Arcee asked.
"I'll let your little puppy fill you in. And I don't suppose you can return my shock prod?" he asked.
"If you want?.." Jack asked.
"Roxana could still use it." Arcee said.
"Well, good thing I made one for her." Knockout stated. He then walked away to a storage cupboard. Jack and Arcee looked around, and focused on Raf ledged up on his console. He waved at them. Jack and Arcee looked over as Knockout stepped back. What he held looked almost like pom-poms.
"You can't be serious?" Arcee asked.
"Deadly." Knockout stated, "Or not. A minor electrical charge causes them to stand up. It then calculates which points are touching, if they are both touching an enemy target, those two points specifically are charged, allowing it to maximize the amount of distance the charge has to pass through the body."
"Is that good?" Arcee asked.
"Bigger effect, less Energon." Knockout stated, "And I figured that Roxana could simply copy them."
Arcee looked through Knockout, eyes unfocused. "Arcee?" Jack asked her.
She turned to look at him, "Can we turn her into a cheerleader, please?" Arcee emphatically asked.
"We can start with the pom-poms." Jack said with a smile.
"She's so getting a cheerleader skirt." Arcee stated.
"I think I've hogged your attention long enough." Knockout stated, and turned towards Raf on the console.
Jack nodded his head towards Arcee and then the console, and she picked him up and carried him over.
Raf held out his hand, only to find Jack pulling him for a hug. He let Raf go.
"Don't you have like a company to run?" Arcee asked.
Raf turned to look up at her, eye glasses automatically adjusting, "I am a director, not an officer."
"And let's pretend I don't know what that is?" Arcee asked.
"Oh?" Raf asked, "I helped setup the company, but I'm not the one that runs it."
"It was more about having a place to work." Bumblebee stated.
"How's it going, Bee?" Arcee asked him.
"Oh, you know?" Bumblebee asked.
"Honestly?" Arcee replied, "No. We've kind of been in our own little world."
"While you were playing housewife," Bumblebee said with a smile, "I was playing diplomat."
"And between the two of them, I would MUCH rather be his housewife. You can have your politics."
"And Jack goes to Caminus and gets them to agree to Human colony?!" Bumblebee asked.
"They..." Jack tried to say.
"Talked themselves into it." Arcee finshed for him, "There's no way he's going to take the credit for that."
"So, the diplomat's wife?" Bumblebee asked, "Behind every great man is a great woman?"
"I wouldn't say great, and I'm not a woman." Arcee replied, "I'm a fembot, thank you." She found Jack slapping her butt. She smiled brightly before continuing, "And he's definitely the one doing that talking. I literally hid behind him and snarked about his spanking June."
Bumblebee and Raf gave Jack a curious look, "It makes sense in context."
"I'll help Jack do whatever he wants." Arcee said.
"Even if he wanted to do something... you know?" Bumblebee asked.
"This is Jack." Arcee said, "The worst thing he's ever wanted to do was..."
"Was?" Raf asked.
"I honestly don't know?" Arcee asked, "Want to move to Caminus? But then, it's beautiful, and he could, you know, breathe, and have plants."
"And the other femmes?" Raf asked.
"I'm not exactly the affectionate sort." she said, and Jack slapped her on the butt, "See?" she asked. "I want there to be someone there, with Jack, when I can't be."
"And how often does that happen?" Raf asked.
Arcee looked embarassed. "Often enough." Jack answered for her, and she looked at him lovingly.
"And what's the worst thing Arcee has done?" Bumblebee asked.
"She can be a little clingy." Jack joked, and she gave him a nervous look, "For the record, I have never had a problem with it."
"I mean, it's not too much?" Arcee nervously asked.
"Whatever I do, it's happier with you there." Jack lovingly said to her.
"Good to see I was wrong about her making a mistake taking him as a sparkmate." Ratchet said as he walked up. "I'm sorry." he said to Arcee and Jack.
"I'm sorry." Jack said in reply. Ratchet gave him a curious look, "For not calling you right away."
"Fft." Ratchet replied. "I'm not as young as I used to be. Dodging Insecticons doesn't seem as thrilling as it did when I was a young spark."
"Miko would want me to ask if you ever were?" Arcee asked.
Ratchet "Fft"ed with a smile. "Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, some of the liberated would like to speak with you."

Jack looked up at Arcee. She knocked at the doors, and they slid open. Jack walked in with Arcee right behind her. They found a femme kneeling on the ground. Jack paused as Arcee stepped up beside him, the doors closing behind them. "Hello?" Jack asked, and she dropped her head to the ground.
"I heard you were the one to thank." she stated, and a pregnant pause followed.
"You going to leave her like that?" Arcee asked.
"It's... touching..." Jack nervously stated.
"I cannot thank you enough." the femme stated, and Jack stepped towards her.
"That is a pretty good thank you." Arcee said, "You could make it better." she added, and Jack shot her a sharp glare.
"I would do anything to thank you." the femme stated.
"Did it work?" Jack asked.
She looked over at him, "Mostly. I still have an anger deep down inside me, but as long as I am left alone, I can control it."
"Nothing wrong with having anger issues." Jack said, and she gave him a curious look.
"Maybe... you could help her?" Arcee salaciously asked.
"You can?!" she asked, and Jack sighed.
"I'm not exactly an expert on this."
"What kind of animal are you?" Arcee asked, and she turned into a large wolf. Arcee turned to Jack, "Want a guard dog?"
"That is wrong on so many levels." Jack sighed.
"No!" she exclaimed, "I would be honoured to. After you have done so much for me, it's the least I could do in reply."
"So, Jack?" Arcee asked, trying her best not to laugh, "Do you want a guard dog?"
"I can do it!" the wolf exclaimed, "I will protect you with my life!"
"I... kind of already have Arcee doing that." Jack said, and looked up at Arcee barely holding in her laughter. He looked back at Vera as something occured to him, "How fast can you run?" he asked, and her ears drooped disappointingly.
"Maybe she can guard the house?" Arcee asked, and Jack shot her a daggers with his eyes.
Jack breathed in deeply as he thought it over. "I can't believe that is a good idea..." he sighed.
"You are worried about your mother when you can't be there... "Arcee voiced, and Jack frowned.
Jack looked up at her, "I want someone who can take care of her when I'm gone." Jack stated.
"Not a guard dog?" Arcee tried to neutrally ask, but she working hard to stop herself from laughing.
Jack just glared at her. He then breathed in deeply and looked at the wolf, "If I did, it would be to protect my mother."
"I'll guard her with my life!" the she-wolf shouted.
"What's your name?" Arcee asked.
"Vera." she stated.
* * *
Jack and Arcee walked into their room, "You are getting SUCH as spanking." Jack said to her.
"Promises, promises."

Enter: Alvin and Einstein
After I told my mom goodbye and left my house, I started to head for Wedgehurst. At the head of Route 1, Hop was waiting for me. He went on about this being the beginning of his legend and having to train in the grass.
He told me that I should head to the unusual building with a Pokeball on it, the Pokemon Research Lab. I wanted to take the straight path forward, but a Wall of Wooloo blocked the way. I have to go the alternate route: through the tall grass.
(Character Break: I though for a while on How I'm gonna deal with encounters. This is my solution: do surprise encounters when possible. If there is no grass, like in caves, catch the closest Pokemon available. Some towns have fishing spots, so those'll be encounters too. I'll explain the Wild Area when I get there.)
As I walked through the Grass, a little Skwovet ran up to me. He was cute, so I decided to catch him and name him Alvin.
As I continued, I encountered a Wooloo in the same Route. I wanted to catch it too, but...Something was preventing me. I couldn't reach for my Pokeballs, even though I wanted to. Come to think of it, the same thing happened in Alola, but I didn't pay much attention to it at the time. I decided to defeat the Wooloo for some Exp, getting Goldeneye to level 8 and Alvin to level 4.
I pushed forward and Dodged the remaining Pokemon. I also picked up a Potion and 2 Paralysis Heals that were on the ground.
Once I entered Wedgehurst, the first thing I saw was Leon's Charizard. That must mean he's nearby. I spotted him in front of the Research Lab. Once we were face-to-face, he complimented me on making it, since he struggled during the start of his adventure (man's bad at directions).
Leon, his Charizard and I all headed inside the lab, where we were met by a little dog known as Yamper. Then we heard a voice from above call out to Leon. A cute looking girl was there, at the top of the stairwell. She came down to greet us, and Leon told me her name: Sonia. All he said about her was that he likes her cooking. Sonia buts in, telling us that she was Leon's rival when they were a part of the Gym Challenge.
She formally introduced herself to me, telling me that she was the professor's assistant. Leon requested that she sets me on the right path and heads out with Yamper.
Sonia spots my phone, which was a new Roto-Phone gifted to me by Kukui back in Alola before I flew here to Galar. It still has the same Rotom that was in my Roto-Dex. She explained how the Roto-Phone works(, but I already knew how it worked. Didn't want to spoil her fun though, so I let her explain anyways). She than asked me if I knew a lot about Pokemon. Since I'm, y'know, the first ever Champion of Alola and the one who saved it fron the Ultra Wormhole Crisis, I guess I knew a bit about Pokemon. Since she was impressed with my answer, she decided to add the Pokedex onto my Roto-Phone.
Apparently, the Pokedex App was developed by her grandma, the actual professor of the region: Professor Magnolia. Sonia asked me to tell her grandma that I received the Dex, since she lives in the house at the end of Route 2. I agreed left the Pokemon Research Lab.
When I left, I was stopped by a man I didn't know. He noticed that I just left the Lab, so he suspected I got the Pokedex App recently. He wanted to gift me something useful since I'm a "new trainer". (Guess he doesn't know that I'm a regional champ elsewhere. Oh well, I'll take the free stuff anyways :/.) He gifted me a potion, and explained how they worked. He also told me that i should talk to everyone so i can know as much as possible, then left. Not the weirdest experience I've ever had, but it's up there.
I decided to head to the nearby Pokemon Center since Goldeneye and Alvin are a little beat up, and met Hop on the way there. He asked if I got my Pokedex, than went on and on about meeting cool Pokemon and building a Strong team. He than went on to explain how the Pokemon Centers of Galar worked. We walked in, as he asked me if I've ever been in one. I've never been in one like this, so I said no. They were quite different from Alola's, so Hop's explanation was actually useful. The PC was different, it had its own Rotom inside it. There was a PokeMart here, just like Alola. What was really different was the guy on the left. He explained that he was the Move Relearner, Move Deleter, and Nickname Rater. One guy with all 3 jobs, wow. Back in Alola, those 3 were separate jobs, and the people with those jobs were scattered around the whole region. This is so much better! With that, I healed my pokemon and headed out. I decided to check out the nearby clothing shop. Since I left most of my clothing back in Alola, i decided to buy a Black Striped Top, a Navy Hoodie and Blue Denim Trousers. I also decided to take off my hat. Honestly? I think I look good. I also bought 6 Oran, Cheri, and Pecha Berries from a Berry Farmer outside the Boutique. (I actually bought 7 Pecha berries, but I ate one for myself. They're soooooo good! You should try one when you can.)
On my way to Route 2, Hop stopped me. Again. He asked if I want to try my hand at the Gym Challenge. I've never done any gym challenges before, only the Island Trials and that one fake Gym in Malie City back on Ula'ula Island. I still have that novelty Badge at home, I think...
But anyways, I was interested in trying an actual Gym Challenge this time. Apparently, it's an annual challenge where trainers compete for the right to challenge the champion. The trick is that we have to be endorsed in order to participate, which is the hard part. Since Leon won't endorse Hop since he doesn't think he's strong enough yet, he's gonna try to get the professor's endorsement. He wants me to join him, since I'm his rival now. We both headed out to Route 2.
Once we got there, Leon stopped us and offered us a lesson on How To Catch Pokemon (ft. Champion Leon). Leon noticed that I already caught one, since my mom gave me 5 Pokeballs before I left. Leon decided to give me 20 more pokeballs. He went on about how catching also increases Exp, battling increases more, etc. Than he just. Left. Hop than left as well to catch his own Pokemon. Well, it's my turn to catch another Pokemon.
I ran into the grass and found a little bug Pokemon named Blipbug. He had a cute face, so I chucked a ball at him immediately. He was caught in the 1st ball. The name Einstein popped into my head, so that's his name now.
I decided to put him as the 1st Pokemon in my Party since he was the newest member. I spotted a fox nearby and decided to encounter it. It's a fox Pokemon known as a Nickit. I wanted to catch it too, but the same thing as before was preventing me. What is this force? Why won't it let me catch more than 1 Pokemon per area?! I'm so confused! I decided I should KO the Nickit for Exp. On my way down, I was met with my 2nd ever opposing trainer. The moment we locked eyes, he challenged me to a fight. Just like Alola...
You are challenged by Youngster Jake!
The 1st Pokemon he sent out was Skwovet. I lead with Alvin. I was at a disadvantage since his Skwovet had a level advantage to me. Why am I at a disadvantage every battle, man?! I managed to land a Tail Whip, but suffered a Tackle in return. Fortunately, Alvin's new move, Bite, was able to Flinch the opponent, so we were only hit once the whole battle! We eventually bit our way to victory! Heck yes! We got 360 PokeDollers for winning. I picked up a few items that were lying around and headed forward. I was challenged by another trainer. Why are there 2?
You are challenged by Lass Lauren!
I once again led with Alvin, and she has a tiny turtle Pokemon named Chewtle. I used Tail Whip, but once again, was hit with tackle. Alvin ate his Oran Berry, and his ability, Cheek Pouch, healed him up to full! Now at a slight advantage, we Bit are way to Victory once more, only suffering a few weak Tackles! We got $504 for winning.
At the entrance of the gates was...another trainer. Oh. Wonderful. He says he couldn't neat Hop, so he'll beat me instead. Let's see if he can.
You are challenged by Youngster Benjamin!
He leads with a Blipbug, and Alvin hits the field once again. I know Blipbug's only move is Struggle Bug, so a Tail Whil and a few Bites will do the trick. His second Pokemon is a Nickit, so I swap out Alvin for Einstein. Nickit uses Quick Attack while Struggle Bug does mire than half HP. I outspeed and land the finishing blow, winning me the battle. We got $420 for winning.
Once I walk past him, I'm met with Hop standing near Leon, who's talking to the Professor about the Dynamax Phenomenon. Eventually, she spots Hop and I and introduces herself. She is Professor Magnolia, and she invited us into her house. She notices Hop's additional Pokemon and it seems she knows who I am. She guesses that I already have the Pokedex, and bets that I'll complete it in no time. I try to tell her about the fact that something is preventing me from catching more than 1 Pokemon, but...the words get stuck in my throat. I can't say what i want to say. I can't move. I can't change my expression. It feels like I'm not in control of my own body at the moment. Someone. Anyone. Please Help.
Leon explains that Magnolia has been doing research on the Dynamax Phenomenon for years now, and it takes a proper understanding of it to use it at its fullest. Hop asks Magnolia to convince Leon to endorse us for the Gym Challenge. First, Magnolia asks Leon why he won't endorse us. He explains that since we just started our journey here, he feels like we don't know enough yet. Dude, I'm the champ of Alola. C'mon. Magnolia argues back that Leon said that he wants everyone in Galar to become strong trainers. So they come to a compromise: if Hop and I have a brilliant enough battle, he'll endorse us. Hop agrees and heads outside.
I check over my team and think about how to lead. I decide to keep Alvin in front, and head out to battle Hop. But before that, I go behind the house and pick up an item: TM 57, Payback. Wait. How did I know it was back here? I...don't remember spotting it or anything. Maybe it was intuition? Yeah, let's go with that. Since it benefits slow Pokemon, I teach it to Alvin. Hop calls out for me to battle him, so I run towards him. He wants to get endorsed sooo badly, so he wants our battle to be great. Leon and Magnolia watch from the sidelines.
You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Hop!
The 1st Pokemon he sends out is his Wooloo, and I send out Alvin. I know how Bulky Wooloo can be, so I set up with 2 tail whips, suffering 2 tackles in the process. Hop lands a Critical Hit Tackle, taking me down to Half HP. Alvin eats his Oran Berry and Heals to full, thanks to Cheek Pouch. Afterwards, we KO Wooloo in one hit with a Critical Hit Payback. Alvin and Goldeneye level up thanks to the Exp, Alvin to Level 8 and Goldeneye to Level 10.
Hop sends out Scorbunny, so I send out Goldeneye. I have the level AND type advantage, so 2 Water Guns is enough to take it out. We only got hit by a resisted Ember between the 2, so no real harm was dealt :/. Einstein made it to level 8, tho.
Hop was going to use Rookidee, so I kept Goldeneye in. 1 Water Gun and a Pound is all it took, only taking a Peck in damage. I'd say the highlight of the battle was the Critical Payback. We got $640 for winning.
Hop is upset at losing the fight, but Leon decided to endorse the both of us! We both received a Letter of Endorsement! Hop immediately cheered up at the fact that he was endorsed, and promised to win his way into fighting Leon. Hop and I will both train against one another in order to get stronger together.
Suddenly, Hop spots something in the sky. An unknown object falls down and lands nearby. Hop runs to it and immediately grabs it, noting that it's a Wishing Star. Since there's two of them, he gives me one. I don't know why, but holding this makes me feel. . . safe.
Hop says that with one of these, his pokemon can Dynamax. Leon approaches us and says that Wishing Stars fall down for those who have a true wish in their heart. Hop clutches his and repeats the phrase "I WILL be the greatest Trainer ever!" to himself 3 times. Magnolia says that the Wishing Stars are composed of a curious sort of rock with unknown powers. It's the most precious resource in Galar, but they're useless how they are now. Hop comments on how this and the encounter with the unusual pokemon in the woods really makes this adventure feel like it's gonna be legendary. Suddenly, Sonia appears. She came right in time for all the excitement. She offers to make us dinner, and we accept and stay the night.
The next day, we wake up in Magnolia's house. Magnolia asks Hop if what he said about encountering an unknown Pokemon in the woods is real, and asks for more details. He explains that there was a heavy fog, the weird wolf Pokemon appearing, and how we both tried to fight it off together to no avail, and that we both passed out. After writing down what Hop said, Magnolia gave us both our Dynamax Band. Reminds me of the Z-Power Ring. She explained that the Dynamax Bands can only Dynamax a Pokemon when near a Power Spot. Hop is as exited as always to start his Legend, and races me to the train station.
Just outside the house, Hop gave me the advice that sneaking around and being slow lets me avoid Pokemon, and Whistling will grab their attention. Than he runs off. I run through route 2 and head straight to the station.
When I arrived to the station, Hop noticed that I didn't catch a single pokemon. I couldn't tell him why. But he gave me the TM for Swift. He explained what a TM is, but I already knew what they were. We both headed in and were on our way to board the train to Motostoke, but my and Hop's mom stopped us. They both gifted us a set of Camping Gear and see us off. We boarded the train and set off.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to make it all the way since a bunch of Wooloo block the train, so we hop off at the Wild Area Station. Hop is happy since that means he can catch a lot of Pokemon and he immediately runs off.
This adventure gets crazier by the second.

Trip of a Lifetime
Part 2 – The Road Trip
"Look at life through the windshield, not the rear-view mirror" ~ Byrd Baggett
July 2013
The 98-degree air hit us almost as hard as the ultra-loud music as we exited the airport. Cabo San Lucas Airport is actually only an airport in name. It is really a 200’ outdoor bar that just so happens to be where planes land and depart. We weaved our way through the skimpily clad mobile cowgirl bartenders. They were out fitted with gun belts, bottles of tequila took the place of guns, shot glasses the place of bullets… all of this at 9a.m. local time.
We were so relieved to see a driver in front of a van holding up a sign with our party’s name. Finally, we are making a get away from Sodoma y Gomorra (I used Google translate). I noticed that our driver was packing (a gun) … I thought this part of Mexico was somewhat safe. We stow away our luggage and start to enter the 4-row van. I was taught to be a gentleman, so to the back of the vehicle I went. I was greeted by another employee in the very back seat, we will call him a guard since he had a MACHINE GUN in his lap… more than a little concerned now. Oh well, when in Cabo… I was glad that Leigh was not concerned at all as she could still have been a stand in on the Walking Dead (two Ambien).
The drive from the airport to Rancho de Costa resort is a little over three hours. We followed the coast and then winded our way through the desolate but beautiful mountainous back country of Baja California. I asked the guard if it would be safe to rent a car and make this trip, a thunderous belly laugh was followed by a serious and stern ‘NO’.
After two hours we stopped for lunch at Loncheria Trasviña in San Bartolo. The driver said that this place had three things going for it; it is safe, the food is great and the bathrooms are clean. He was right on all three, but the most memorable thing about this stop was that this was Leigh’s first memory of Mexico… she is alive!
The last hour meandered along, the roads got smaller, we even started seeing livestock walking in the road. On our right we noticed an eight-foot chain link fence, it went on for a couple of miles. Eventually a nondescript guard station and gate appeared and we pulled in. There were more guards and more machine guns, thank goodness these were the good guys! In we went, the dirt road ultimately led to the picture in this post. The start of a week to remember.
More to come…
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Small Beginnings
In which mum writes of the day motherhood became real.
Small Beginnings
I'm riding a bus into London this morning on my way to the office reading a book. What's this? A feeling of butterflies? Why am I feeling butterflies? I'm not excited with the prospect of another work day. Wait a minute, could this be? Are these little flutterings the first few movements of my baby making herself felt? Now I'm desperately excited! It must be! Nobody's told me how she would first make her actual presence known. No ultra sounds to view first baby photographs. My interest in my hitherto extremely interesting book totally wanes. I can't wait to get to the office to phone my husband. No cell phones! Can't wait till tonight when I get home. Hurry up bus! I reach the office. Excited call to my husband! Excited voice back!
This amazing miracle is what every parent is part of. That everything in LIFE is part of. The wonder of this tiny child that's growing inside me. It's hard to put this awareness to one side and concentrate on what else is important for right now. Every day brings the thoughts of what is happening to the development of this child. Every stage is another miracle. The excitement builds with each passing month. Life will never be the same. The knowledge that I will always be this child's mother. Love her, nurture her, comfort her and help her grow up to be an adult. The responsibility is huge and will be challenging I know. But I am so ready for this little life to enter mine, and for her to be part of my future for the rest of my own life.
Jane Barratt
Dads’s thank you note to my mum:
Life's scroll unfurls an inch or two
As child becomes a mother
The hand that held a Father's hand
Holds the hand of yet another
The names and times that went before
Are mostly hid from view
And few forebears are with us now
To greet the stranger new
But earlier times have made their mark
And written on the Scroll
Their thoughts and deeds, accomplishments
Will inspire this child's soul
The stranger's name will come to mean
Much to all those here,
A few years hence, the stranger's pen
Will make its writing clear
Our hopes are with this little one
Behold this little jewel
And so it goes as Life moves on
Rejoice in its Renewal!

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Autumn Festival Free Relic Draws
The Autumn Festival event just started in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game.
Tumblr media
As part of the festivities, each day you log on to the game, you get 1 ticket. You can use this ticket on the Autumn Festival banner to get a free x10 draw. You’re guaranteed to get at least one 5-star or higher relic from this pull.
IIRC, this banner includes basically all the available relics on Final Fantasy Record Keeper so the chances of getting something good are slim to none, especially considering how crappy the rates here are.
It also sucks that, even now, these kinds of banners are still only guaranteeing a 5-star item. 5-star Soul Breaks have long since been powercrept and outdated. It would have been really nice if we were guaranteed to get at least one 6-star item, especially since it’s not like all 6-stars are good anyway.
But, ah well, at least the pulls are free. Hopefully, I can get something good from these draws. Gonna be skipping the entirety of this fest because the banner that will feature Genesis Rhapsodos’s1 True Arcane Soul Break (TASB) or Arcane Dyad Soul Break (ADSB) is gonna be coming soon.
1 Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (#ad) is currently my absolute, most favorite Final Fantasy char. He’s the reason why I’m playing FFRK.
Besides, since the Global or English version of FFRK is a few months behind its Japanese counterpart, I already know that the fest after this one is way better.
Heck, the anniv fest, which is around 2 fests from now, is even better. So my plan is to just save for the anniv fest after getting Genesis’s TASB.
Anyway, so my first ticket pull on the Autumn Festival banner gave me 1 disco orb. At least it wasn’t a rainbow orb. Also, Dr. Mog actually showed up so got pretty hyped.
A dress showed up and then I was promptly greeted by the sight of this -
Tumblr media
Just got a dupe of Y’shtola Rhul’s (from Final Fantasy XIV) Synchro Arcane Soul Break (SASB), Scion’s Flare, so it went from Rank 1 to Rank 3 of 5.
Tumblr media
Ugh. Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover it. This pull was free but still. Was so pleased when Dr. Mog showed up only to be horribly and utterly disappointed when I only got a dupe.
I don’t even use Y’shtola because, AFAIK, the only other relic I have for her is her healing Ultra Soul Break (USB) so it doesn’t even synergize with Scion’s Flare, which turns Y’shtola into a DPS.
Was hoping my second ticket will give me something good but, instead all I got were 2 rainbow orbs. Was so pissed and disappointed that I didn’t even bother to take a screenshot.
Just quickly logged out of the game after doing all the required daily missions and getting the rewards associated with those missions.
To be honest, I’ve been getting really bored with Final Fantasy Record Keeper lately. These crappy pulls don’t help at all. There’s not much to do. Most events can be autoed, which is good, but also undoubtedly boring.
There are hard fights but those are way too difficult if you don’t have a lot of good relics. So you need to pull if you want to beat these quests but there’s no pity system and the rates are trash so there’s always the possiblity that you’ll end up with useless relics.
I wish there was more interesting content to go through. There’s this new mode called Labyrinth but that was just a slog to get through.
Yeah, it can be autoed, and I have autoed it but that didn’t make it any less boring. Now I just auto it once a day because it’s part of the daily missions. Wouldn’t bother with it otherwise.
Speaking of the daily missions, I find it annoying how you need to clear like 3 quests to get all the rewards, including 1 mythril. Even if I can auto quests, that still takes way too much time.
I prefer how the Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia (DFFOO) mobile game does things wherein you only need to clear 1 quest to be able to get all the daily mission rewards.
I can auto fights on that game too, and it feels like DFFOO respects my time more. Plus it’s way more generous when it comes to giving free draws and pullingresources.
I really wish FFRK would take a page from DFFOO’s book such as introducing a pity system, having more content, giving more mythril, having more campaigns that give free pulls, and more.
Ahh, if Genesis wasn’t in FFRK, I’d probably - most likely - just quit. Man, I wish DFFOO would introduce Genesis as a playable char there already. That’d be really freaking awesome.
Welp, looks like I got a bit distracted. But, well, can’t help being annoyed with FFRK thanks to all these crappy pulls and the way things are going there.
It’s frustrating and makes me just log out as soon as possible so I could get back to DFFOO where things are way more interesting and fun.
Anyway, so I’ve been doing the free pulls on FFRK but since I just keep getting trash, don’t even bother taking screenshots anymore. Don’t want to remember these horrible draws. Bleh.
Well, one day, I got 3 items from this free draw - 2 rainbow orbs and 1 disco orb. Dr. Mog didn’t show up, as usual. And, as usual, was already prepared to be disappointed and pissed.
One of the 5-stars I got was Ysayle Dangoulain’s (from Final Fantasy XIV) Legend Materia Relic (LMR), Lady Iceheart. Have nothing for her so this is useless.
The second 5-star I got was Ultimecia’s (from Final Fantasy VIII) LMR, Existence Denied. Have a few relics for Ultimecia, including her wind Sync, but that doesn’t make this LMR useful or helpful to me. That’s because this LMR is for her dark kit but don’t have her dark Sync or AASB.
The 6-star item I got was a hammer. Was already thinking that this was probably nothing more than an Ultra Soul Break or a Glint+ Soul Break or something.
So when I got to the draw results screen, was pleasantly surprised to see that I actually got an Awakened Arcane Soul Break (AASB) and a new one at that. Welp, who’d have thought, huh?
Tumblr media
Ended up with Galuf Halm Baldesion’s (from Final Fantasy V) AASB, Laws of Nature. It’s for the earth element.
Have Galuf’s other Awakening so it was nice to get a second BDL relic for him. Now if I could just get his Sync and his other relics, that’d be really awesome.
Tumblr media
When I did this particular pull, wasn’t paying attention as the orbs started revealing themselves one-by-one. Already been disappointed by previous draws so was expecting more of the same for this one.
Was therefore pleasantly surprised when I looked at the screen and was greeted by the sight of this -
Tumblr media
Welp, totally missed it when Dr. Mog apparently showed up. Super glad to see a 7-star relic though. It was definitely way better than getting nothing more than a 5-star relic.
The rank-up screen didn’t show up either so this appears to be new. Hopefully, it’s a Sync and not just a Limit Break Overstrike (LBO) or Limit Break Over Flow (LBOF).
So I got to the draw results screen and that was when I discovered that I just got -
Tumblr media
Garland’s (from Final Fantasy I) TASB, Apex Soul of Chaos. Also got Celes Chere’s (from Final Fantasy VI) Ultra Soul Break, Mystic Blade.
Tumblr media
Well, a TASB is certainly better than a LBO and a 5-star item and I even got a USB.
Plus, both Soul Breaks were new. So compared to my previous crappy draws, this one was pretty good, all things considered.
Tumblr media
However, I can’t honestly say that Garland’s TASB is all that useful to me, at least not right now.
Because at the moment, the only things I have for him are his dark Chain Soul Break (CSB), one of his USBs, and his Unique Soul Break that only costs 1 bar and that can imperil the dark element.
His Chain is basically the same as the Roaming Warrior Chain which isn’t good at all. I’d need his Sync and Awakening to really make him usable.
As it is, I sometimes just drop him in favor of bringing another dark DPS and just making do with the Roaming Warrior Chain.
As for Celes, her USB’s more useful than Garland’s TASB since I have her Sync and her ice Chain. Her Chain’s better than the Roaming Warrior one so she’s part of my physical ice team.
With her USB, I now have something else to cast once the effects of her Sync run out and I don’t need to refresh her Chain yet.
Another one of these tickets gave me 2 6-star items - Xezat Matias Surgate’s (from Final Fantasy V) Arcane Overstrike Soul Break (AOSB), Glacial Spark, and Rinoa Heartilly’s (from Final Fantasy VIII) Awakened Arcane Soul Break, Cherubim Shot.
Tumblr media
Can’t remember ever using Xezat in this game. I think this is my first relic for him.
Too bad it’s useless since AOSBs can only be used once, they cost 3 Soul Break gauges (unless honed), and they don’t really offer anything other than damage.
Tumblr media
Have Rinoa’s ice Chain and one of her USBs. My magic ice tech is severely lacking though so it’s great to have gotten Rinoa’s AASB even if I won’t be able to use it right now.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
So what about you? What kind of relics did you get from the Autumn Festival Relic Draw banner? Do you think FFRK should have banners that will guarantee that players will get at least 1 6-star or higher rarity relic? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment below or by reblogging or replying to this post.

Keep Your Hands Off Nico-chan
NicoMaki, Love Live X Keep Your Hands Off Eizoken!, 1.5K, 1/1
Summary: Maki brings Nico to a summer party. Nico draws some attention.
Keep Your Hands Off Nico-chan
“Maki-chan, Maki-chan, c’mon, HURRY!” Yazawa Nico pulled her girlfriend into the huge backyard of the house they’d just been dropped off at. Nishikino Maki could feel Nico’s excitement through the connection of their hands. Nico was practically bouncing, which there would be a lot more of, since the backyard of the Mizusaki family, all famous for acting and modelling successes, had been transformed into a trampoline adventure park. Nico was already tearing off her kicks.
“This is so cool.” Nico easily pulled herself up on one of the central trampolines, “C’mon, Maki-chan! You have to try this.” With a happy laugh, Nico launched herself into the air, twintails flying up.
All her ingrained hospitality training urged Maki to greet the hosts first so with a wave to a disappointed Nico, Maki went in search of any member of the Mizusaki family to hand over the gift her parents had sent. The daughter, Mizusaki Tsubame, was hunched up over a sketch pad, precariously balanced on the end of a lounge chair, hat pulled down. Maki recognized concentration mode so continued past, but a hand reached out to grab her t-shirt.
“Nishikino-san.” Mizusaki muttered without looking up from her sketching.
“Mizusaki-san, thank you for inviting us. My parents sent this…” Maki hesitated, Mizusaki was obviously not going to reach out and receive the host gift. Maki decided to drop it next to the lounger.
“Can you get that girl you came with to get closer?” Mizusaki glanced up at the trampolines.
“Huh?”
“That girl you came with, can you get her to come closer. Do you see her facial expressions?” Mizusaki unpretzeled her legs, sitting forward, turning a new page.
Maki was surprised by another person, scrabbling out from under the trampolines, camouflage hat askew, her combat ready backpack not really something Maki expected to see at a summer party.
“Did you spot her too, Mizusaki? Definite talent. If we use the trampolines as a launch pad, checkerboard flooring but multicolored, maybe pastels, she looks good in that pink, maybe get something going with super hero poses?” Backpack girl's ideas rushed out.
“Oh, that’s a good idea.” Mizusaki made a few quick notes.
A tall, slumping woman appeared suddenly next to Maki, “Nishikino-san, like the Nishikino medical group?”
“Um, yes.”
“How did you hear that Kanamori? You were all the way over there.” The under trampoline gremlin threw out her arm.
Kanamori shoved down from the hat, collapsing backpack girl like a telescope, “Investment opportunities shout, Asakusa. Now get back to work.” Maki was suddenly subject to a snaggle tooth, slightly feral smile, “While I talk to Nishikino-san about the synergy of serendipity.”
“What’s her name?” Mizusaki tugged on Maki’s shirt again.
“Who, Nico-chan?”
“NICO!” Mizusaki stood up and waved, making sure she caught Nico’s attention, then she knelt next to an Asakuza who was debating which direction to scramble off in, “She goes through like 100 facial expressions a minute. If I could capture that…”
Asakuza tilted her head, “Really clean motion too. Maybe give her ears, like a bunny.”
“I like that.” Some more notes.
Kanamori had crept closer, sliding her phone back into her pocket, “So has this idol group of yours ever considered an animated music video? We could easily turn that around…”
Backpack girl had flopped on her back, “Don’t wanna. No singing. Superheroes.”
“Singing superheroes? Ultra Idols with combat dance moves…” Mizusaki offered, more quick sketches.
“Hey, Maki.” Nico had sprinted over, sweaty and excited, “Who are your new friends?”
Maki sighed, “Actually, I’ve known Mizusaki-san for years…”
“Mizusaki, Mizusaki Tsubame?” Nico pushed past Maki, hand out, “Yazawa Nico. Big fan. Your latest candy campaign was literally the sweetest.” Nico winked, “Got any pointers for Nico.”
Mizusaki relaxed, eyes sweeping Nico's face. “I’ll swap pointers for posing.”
Nico frowned, “Nico doesn’t understand.”
“Do you always call yourself Nico.”
“Yes.” Maki and Nico collided, verbally, in totally different moods.
Another note for the sketchbook.
“Posing? Like Nico Nico Ni.” And Nico went in to full incandescent charm mode, bouncing into her signature gesture.
A pause, while everyone not Maki blinked.
“We could animate that, cheap.” Kanamori now loomed over Nico.
“Nico doesn’t do cheap.”
“Superhero.” Backpack girl was up, knees bent, one hand raised, fist clenched.
“Super Nico.” Nico considered. “So you draw Nico.” She turned to Mizusaki.
“We use you as a figure model. Your facial expressions are amazing. I could draw you all day.” Mizusaki flipped through her pages, showing Nico.
“Did you see this, Maki?”
Maki shook her head.
“Nico is an inspiration.” Nico nudged Maki with her hip; Maki rolled her eyes.
Backpack girl decided to go to the left, “If we take the left turret there and raise the height and attach the chessboard and add a control panel the length of the house, and some kind of rotating signal, surround the house with a moat, pour in dolphins mutated with sting rays…”
Kanamori lifted Asakuza off the ground by the straps, “Let’s talk over here.”
“Okay.”
Nico remained focused on her new bff. “So what do you want Nico to do?"
Mizusaki pointed to the trampoline, “Climb up there and give me your best flying poses.”
“And then we take a selfie for TWIG. And you follow Nico back and share Nico’s cute summer outfit and how Nico inspired you with your fans.”
Maki nodded, Nico the negotiator. That was her girlfriend. Never too starstruck.
“Deal.” After the handshake, Mizusaki settled into a comfortable position, sharpening a pencil.
Nico pulled herself up on the trampoline, bouncing gently as she considered poses. “Ready.”
“Ready.”
“Nico Nico” and Nico bent her legs and pushed off, bringing both hands together above her head. “Ni.” And Nico flew and bounced and somersaulted and Maki watched Mizusai paying too much attention to Nico. So she started to pace, wanting to go get a drink or dessert that might lure Nico back to earth but unwilling to leave Nico alone with the enraptured Mizusaki.
Nico pulled up her knees, in the air, hugging them, then exploded, arms out, super super idol smile and Maki just wanted to pull her off the trampoline, around the corner of the house, and into a personal, private hug. Mizusaki only seemed to be gaining energy, ignoring the heat. Maki glanced at her phone, surely 30 minutes was enough Nico time for anybody but family or her. She strode to the edge of the trampoline, hand out.
“Let’s get a drink, Nico-chan.”
Nico could see the tension in Maki’s jaw and shoulders. She was learning Maki's limits. Maki had brought her to this party and so far gotten zero Nico attention. That would tank anyone's mood. As much fun as Nico was having, it’d be even better if she could coax Maki into laughing or smiling.
“Hold out your arms, Maki-chan.”
“Huh????”
“Hold out your arms.” Nico opened hers; Maki imitated the move.
Another bounce, but as Maki followed Nico’s trajectory, she realized the fast, tricky pink ball of cute was heading right for her.
“Catch me, Maki-chan.”
“Please don’t die,” Maki thought, frantically bracing for too much momentum.
###
N; Does Maki-chan still hurt?
M: No, I’m fine.
N: Then why’d you miss dance rehearsal today.
Maki was lying on her stomach in bed, ice sitting on top of her.
M: ( ̄ー ̄;
N: Nico could kiss it and make it better.
M: §;゚ロ゚§
M: It’s Nico’s fault.
N: Nico was going for romance. Maki needs to do some pushups ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
M: ᕦ⊙ ෴ ⊙ᕤ
N: ❤❤❤
Maki got a message from an unknown number.
Hi Maki, Nico gave me your number. Thanks for introducing me to Nico.
The next text from Mizusaki was a full color watercolor sketch, Maki stepping backwards, Nico in her arms, Nico’s arms wrapped around Maki’s neck, Nico kissing Maki’s cheek, which is the exact moment Maki lost her balance. Mizusaki had even managed to catch the start of panic in her eyes. And the glow of excitement in Nico’s.
Mizusaki: I’ve messengered the original over as a thank you.
Maki zoomed in on the sketch, noting every detail of Nico’s expression. She'd reply to Mizusaki tomorrow.
M: You’re the cutest.
N: Are you on painkillers?
M: Ice for my [redacted]; this for my heart.
She forwarded the message.
N: We look cute. We made new friends. Nico is good for you.
Maki laughed, almost rolling over, then wincing with pain at the movement. And yet still she typed.
M: ┌( `ー´)┘
N: Nico is faster.
M: ヽ(⌐■_■)ノ♪♬
N: Nico is dancier.
N: But Maki might be cuter. Nico can’t be sure. Send a selfie.
M: Tyrant.
N: (✿ ♥‿♥)
M: I’m tired (--; walk me to school, tomorrow, Nico-chan.
N: ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧
N: I’ll be there. Get some sleep.
N: d=(´▽`)=b
M: Too soon *groans with remembered pain*
N: (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀)
N: ღゝ◡╹ )ノ♡
M: Good night, Nico-chan.
Maki shifted, smiling. Tomorrow, she’d see Nico. No one pushing between them. Just time for the two of them. That was always something to look forward to.
A/N: One of the IF Heaven challenges is a crossover fic. Keep Your Hands off Eizoken! is amazing and full of joy so I thought it would go well with Love Live, also amazing and full of joy. The first time I watched Eizoken, I realized Maki and Tsubame were likely to get along. As long, as Mizusaki-san isn't too inspired by Nico ; )
